    Why are you attacking me, lol? Im just telling someone that won't always work.

    @Victory

    I am in no way attacking. I am simply replying to your comment.

    if the killer downs you at the hook, the killer will hook you before your ds even goes off.

    @Victory

    You unhooked yourself with the Killer right in front of you or stayed right under the hook long enough to let them return. How is that called? Making bad decisions. And what should happen when you make bad decisions?

  • What Killer was it, and what was his setup?

  • Open your Survivor/Killer menu and click Character Info. Each character page in there will show you on the top right their teachable perks. The ones you have unlocked will have a check mark ✓, locked ones will have a lock, and those currently available in the Shrine and you havent unlocked will have a simple square.

  • Honestly, even if they turn towards exclusives, they always have the option of adding them to the store. After they said they would never release exclusives again, and the fact that they specifically stated they are in no way abandoning the store system, Im betting they will aim for this. But, we will have to wait for the Q&A to find out.

  • @rch614

    Pfft, everyone knows Amanda is the one wearing the pants in this relationship.

  • I have never been happier of being wrong in my whole life! Not sure how strong Freddy will be, but I am really excited and looking forward to testing him.

  • When I heard that I instantly thought of those streams who dress up as animal characters.

  • Forgot about Survivors. Overall, choose one that you dont mind sticking with. I personally like playing different Survivors and different perks, but only truly focusing on two of them. I suppose you could go for a Survivor you find the most appealing, whether its based on sounds or cosmetics.

    Ace's perks arent amazing by themselves. I strongly recommend Open Handed if you use Bond a lot. Ace in the Hole can be really fun if you tend not to bring in any items, like I do. Combine it with something like Plunderer's and you have a fun niche but decent build. (Especially if you get a key and survive until the end to open the hatch)

    Laurie's perks are interesting. Sole Survivor is mostly useless. OoO can be really nice feeling to pull off, especially outside of SWF (especially against a Freddy...). I dont use DS unless I go into a match to fool around.

    Some of Quentin's perks are underrated, honestly. Vigil is pretty weak, especially currently with the Exhaustion bug. Pharmacy is amazing for those of us who avoid meta perks (SC/Adrenaline). Wake Up can be situational, but there is nothing wrong with building up for Endgame Collapse.

    Adam's perks seem nice. I personally feel Deliverance is his weaker perk, but others will definitely disagree. Diversion should maybe get its timer reduced, and may require some smart thinking to pull off, but I consider it decent. Autodidact is situational, but it can work well, I guess.

    As for Ash... I hate Ash. I hate Flip-Flop and MoM, so Im a bit biased against him.

  • I thought I was the only one who found Hillbilly's walking animation annoying! <3

    In terms of Killers, I would suggest focusing on 3. At least for me, sometimes I dont feel like playing a specific Killer, so I go for any other of my two options. In my case, I have Spirit and Clown. Right now, Im looking for a third. Maybe Plague once I get to unlock her and if I truly enjoy her.

    If you like Shape and Spirit, focus on those, definitely. Fun/Enjoyment is probably what I take as the most deciding factor. Eventually, you might want a third, in which case, maybe Hag, if you want good results (she is powerful). It would be wise to see how Ghostface and Freddy turn out, so, I agree with you. IF not, Plague sounds like a solid option.

  • I predict this will happen:

    1) Some players will say he will be weak.

    2) Others will reply "You havent tested it yet, cant pass judgement on that!".

    3) Step 1 players will end up being right and will keep saying the same.

    4) Step 2 players will say either "Its not a nerf, its a rework. He got some nerfs but some buffs!", or "You tunnelling Freddy/Killer main! You didnt play Freddy the way he was supposed to!", or "Much healthier to the game though! He was so unfun to play against!", or "Adapt!".

    5) We will end up with an add-on dependant bland M1 Killer. Probably some players will try justifying the changes with numbers based on Survivors running in straight lines.

    Spoiler Spoiler Warning ▲▼

    Sounds familiar? TLDR; Legion rework 2.0.

  • Her lullaby is not part of her TR. So, just like TR perks dont affect it, Dark Devotion wont work on it.

  • I actually disagree about Spirit. I believe she has the best cosmetics out of all Killers (though I could be biased because she happens to be the one I play the most). Her shredded kimono, her school girl uniform and her cursed kimono, they all look sick.

  • I looked up my purchase history: $30

    Thats:

    • Base game
    • Spark of Madness
    • Leatherface
    • Nightmare on Elm Street
    • Saw
    • Curtain Call
    • 500 Auric Cells.
  • @Mat_Sella said:

    Everyone says they want a survivor with their licensed killer, but who do you see playing Quentin or Tapp? They easily become forgotten unless their perk yields significant value. the only reason people played Laurie is because she is the DS Queen and is thus a face of toxicity. Wanna know how many times i saw Laurie after the DS change? One.

    It would be great to have 3 new survivor perks, but to spend resources on an easily forgotten character is a waste.

    @Mat_Sella

    I dont know why, but these past months I have seen way more Quentins. I have seen more Quentins than Lauries (or even Bills), in fact.

  • I believe Autodidact would be in the perfect spot if it just increased the chances of triggering skillchecks. No other changes needed.

  • There should be 5 confirmation pop-up messages, and the "Ok" and "Cancel" buttons change locations randomly.

    Or a 20 second wait time to actually be DCed.

  • @HectorBrando said:

    One of the biggest problems with Solo is lack of information which results in a lot of inefficiency.

    For example when someone is hooked usually 2 or even 3 survivors stop doing what they are doing and go unhook, thats a ton of work lost in gens and an inmense risk if the killer catches 1 survivor going towards the hook he catches the entire team.

    That sort of comunication is why SWF is so incredible strong and they can gen rush so fast.

    @HectorBrando

    Thats not a problem with solos. Thats a problem with SWF raising the bar and expecting too much from Kindred-less solos. The whole original concept of the game was the uncertainty of someone going for a rescue or not, acting as a way of lengthening games.

  • @wydyadoit

    Did you actually read my post? I said Distortion and OoO was a dumb combo (like No Mither and SC). Sole Survivor has nothing to do woth that statement.

  • @wydyadoit said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/493463#Comment_493463

    That's debatable.

    I can still think of some pretty BS mechanics with BBQ. For example - iron maiden negates locker hiding. Infectious fright tells you where nearby survivors are. BBQ tells you where far away survivors are.Territorial Imperative tells you when survivors enter the Basement. Discordance tells you if survivors are doubling up generators. So If you take BBQ, Discordance, Iron Maiden, and Infectious Fright specifically on a fast moving killer or a killer with decent area denial (which is 90% of the roster) you're going to pretty much win. I don't understand how as a survivor you're supposed to counter this?

    Let's take all of the anti-aura abilities - object of obsession + sole survivor + Distortion + lightweight (to hide your marks while running away from the killer during the start of the match)

    in this scenario 2 teammates have to die before you get enough distance on your sole survivor to combo it with object of obsession in order to avoid being seen when in lockers. If the killer doesn't see you he's going to start searching near the hook - so you cant just hide near the hook. BBQ has a range of 40 meters. Sole survivor requires you to be within 24 meters for it to work and it only works if 1 ally is dead. So for the first 3 hooks that BBQ and Chili activate for if you're far away you can use distortion - which has exactly 3 tokens. after that your jeff johanson perk is worthless. but the killer has an opportunity to get 9 hooks not including the 3 that would kill you. so in the best scenario the killer gets 3 hooks and they're all on different survivors who try to escape using their timers and then they lag or whatever and auto die. so now you're the only one left with a maxed out sole survivor, lightweight, and object of obsession. This is still a loss because even if you escape on your own, you would have to have had zero interaction with the killer the entire match since your character doesn't have any escape perks that will allow you to earn boldness points nor do you have any support skills to aid your allies if you were to try and hook rescue, heal, coop gens, etc. which means no altruistic points. objective points will only be available in the form of cleansing dull totems and solo running gens because if you duo gen there's a chance you'll prematurely use up your token - so your points as a survivor are pretty much dead all to counter a single perk. going further now you have 24*3= 72 meters of aura imunity BUT NOT FLARE UP IMMUNITY so doctor's madness, rancor, and infectious fright still activate and will give your position away - unless you run calm spirit on top of the 4 perks you already have and you literally can't do that!

    but let's assume you could and you have a player on your team that is just god tier at running the killer around in circles. so you end up with all gens rushed, all totems cleansed, all chests looted, the game has been going on for an hour and no one has opened the gate yet just because, all pallets are used up, all hooks have been broken because jake brought the brand new iridescent toolbox that no one asked for that can instantly break hooks (not a real thing) and all that's left to do is power the gates. so you go to one gate and another ally goes to the other gate - in this very niche situation yes you can escape assuming that the killer doesn't choose your gate and doesn't catch the person leading them around in circles and doesn't choose the other gate where the support/objective player is hiding then maybe.

    bottom line is that this should not be a thing. BBQ and chili has too much influence in the game. If as other people have stated that blood points are the main reason why killers use it then fine give them 150% increase in blood points for all I care, but the secondary aspect of aura reading without a way for survivors to counter it is a bit obnoxious. Even with just BBQ and Iron Maiden the killer has expanded his entire area of denial to everywhere except the distance between 40 meters and his terror radius which is literally where killers want their prey to be in order to find them. Tacking on whispers will tell you who's inside of the 32 meter range. if you're moving at 4.6 meters this is a death sentence to anyone not in a locker, in a locker, outside of a locker at 40+ meters, and anyone that doesn't have some form of sprint burst or distortion tokens. Tacking on predator ruins sprint burst, tacking on spies from the shadows limits hiding behind rocks between the 40 meter and 32 meter range because birds. idk man. I'm not seeing a lot of options here for survivors.

    I'd be fine with it if the perk only gave auras for the first time hanging each opponent or if there was a token system for it similar to how jeff has a token system, but the way it is now it's literally a 1 size fits all perk. A killer's swiss army knife. 4 seconds at .6 meters per second is a total of 2.4 meters gained on a survivor after hooking assuming that as a killer they're not running play with your food which grants a potential 15%-5%=10% movement speed bonus

    assuming also that you're more than double the distance required of 40 meters at 80 meters you're only going to have 1 of 2 directions to go in order to avoid the killer and that's left along the wall or right along the wall because the rough average of all maps in a straight line from 1 side to the other is about 105 meters - which is once again assuming that you're on a map that is perfectly square and not distorted and irregular in shape. Literally 4 maps are like this out of 27. The science of kinematics proves that a killer will always catch an opponent so long as he predicts the path due to how linear it is. a Killer can accelerate faster than a survivor and will be on top of the survivors tracks within those 4 seconds of hooking the previous survivor.

    in no scenario is BBQ not a good option.

    @wydyadoit

    Ok, where to start...?

    First off, for the Killer to combo Iron Maiden and BBQ, they are giving up two perk slots. There are only two Killers who can make proper use of Iron Maiden, and even then, the benefits they get are minimal. Iron Maiden is a perk no one ever runs, making this combo as rare as someone pulling off Hangman's Trick being useful. Not to mention, Iron Maiden's notification is purely based on sounds if the Killer happens to not be looking in that direction. On top of all, you are seriously overestimating locations as opposed to aura reading. Locations are a pin, aura reading tells the Killer where you are heading. There are so many ways to play around avoiding the notification from Iron Maiden.

    Infectious Fright should only be triggering once per match. If you are not playing accordingly, then the problem is somewhere else. And what does Infectious Fright have to do with BBQ? BBQ happens when you hook someone, IF when you down someone. They have no similarities (other than being tracking perks) or even complementing effects. And, even if IF tells you where Survivors are around you, do you just assume Survivors cant walk while carrying someone to a hook or what?

    Discordance, like IF, has nothing to do with BBQ. Its arguably one of those perks that actually hinder the Killer further if other players figure out they have it (and its pretty easy to tell). If Survivors start working on different generators, your gen pressure flies off like a crow.

    Whispers. It is indeed powerful. But, so what? Its a tool that works amazingly, but difficult to use properly. I would like to remind you that Whispers triggers even with hooked Survivors. So using it to track in the vicinity of the hook is impossible. I am not going to reply about Spies from the Shadows and Predator... I will just say, Killers also have a limit of 4 perk slots, just as Survivors do.

    The build you suggested is a tracking build. And a bad one for the reason I posted above. Half of it has nothing to do with BBQ. And the other half is just slightly more effective than just using BBQ. How builds generally work, you focus on something while neglecting other chances. For instance, if you are running that, where is Ruin? Where is Enduring + Spirit Fury? Where is Nurse's Calling? Where is PGTW? Where is Surveillance? All perks that focus on different aspects which are overall better than that build you listed.

    Now, on to the Survivor perks section... "2 teammates have to die before you get enough distance on your sole survivor to combo it with object of obsession in order to avoid being seen when in lockers". You do realise OoO is aura reading, and when inside lockers your aura is hidden? Ok. As for Sole Survivor, its a ######### perk. Just because a ######### perk is ######### doesnt mean a Killer perk should be nerfed.

    Have you ever even used OoO? I dont think you have. The Survivor is the one who dictates when their aura is read and when it isnt by simply moving their camera around. If the Killer doesnt see your aura, then that means he will either assume you are on the other side of the map hiding (looking away, out of range or inside a locker) or in close proximity (OoO deactivates while inside of their TR). So, basically, the Killer can safely assume you are somewhere on the map!

    Now, Distortion, really? You just seem to not be able to make proper use of a perk. Distortion isnt a brainless perk like BT. The perk exists to inform you the Killer is running something like BBQ. Then you react accordingly, like concealing your aura. That way, you can save your stacks to use them for when you actually need them, rather than just standing in the middle of the map with a finger up your tushie.

    As for the build you recommended, once again, its a bad build. Bad build = Bad results (generally). OoO is basically a "get in a chase with me", not a "Im gonna stealth this one". If you trust your abilities during a chase, then dont use any chase perks. But if you use OoO, suck as chases and choose no exhaustion perks, you might as well be deranking. Also, combining Distortion and OoO together is just as effective as using No Mither and Self Care. They dont work together, so obviously dont expect them to work. And about altruism and objective, as someone who has used OoO, I can safely say unhooking someone or working on generators (in other words, actually doing something) wont be your demise if you have it.

    By the way, totems give points in Boldness, not Objective. Unless you mean the Lightbringer emblem, and that only applies to hex totems.

    It's fine if you're not able to adapt and learn different plays to play a game. It doesn't mean something is bad tho.

    Are you saying that every single nerf to Legion was justified?

  • @Poweas said:

    @Exerlin shouldn't it only affect the killers? It makes no sense for me to hear my grunting and the killer to hear nothing despite them running the perk?

    Well, then you would be saying "Why does it not notify me the Killer is running Stridor even if Im running Iron Will?".

  • @Frozenscum said:

    You probably was too used to tunneling with Legion, he is not like that anymore.

    Hit guy with FF, see if anyone around to spread damage, if not - continue chase as M1 Killer. SBFTL work wonders with Legion, since you can have 3 stacks from 1 chase - double FF hit and normal one.

    DW is stalling mechanics, FF is tracking, use them as intented and you'll be fine. Ppl will need to mend at some point despite of timer stops in TR, you still will have that extra amount of time. Use anti-pallet build with Enduring+Spirit Fury if you feel you getting looped too much.

    @Frozenscum

    Securing a down isnt tunnelling. The power is still the same as before, but way too restrictive to be enjoyable. Missing a single hit depleting FF, decreased vault speed, sluggy FF movement speed, an immensely long CD which is only slightly bearable with two high tier add-ons, the obscured vision of said CD state, inability to see any kind of tracking outside of auras during FF, requiring you to have a dull FF meter and taking ages to recharge. Not to even mention how they screwed up with TR and FF detection range.

    All these limitations for what? A power that doesnt even down you or properly stall, giving you very little in return.

    Of course less people will be inclined to play this atrocity of a Killer.

  • Pls? ;-;

    michael does not have 2 Mori's if that's what you mean

    I think he means Myers has 2 mori add-ons, not mori animations.

  • Oh, L4D and DST will be free as well. Nice.

  • Also, he gets aura reading immunity while on T1. In case you didnt know.

  • First off, I love the art.

    Second, not likely to happen (though swimsuit Quentin 🤤). Some may say swimsuits fall in the "silly outfits" category, and cosmetics in this game seem to always stay in the "serious outfits" category. The closest thing to a "silly" outfit we have is shirtless David, and it actually fits with his character. Not saying it cant happen (and honestly I wouldnt mind too much), but it is really unlikely.

  • I love discussions about horror.

    I actually disagree with you both about what should be considered the "pinnacle of horror". Neither Cry of Fear or Silent Hill are that good. I think the best horror one can experience is either Amnesia TDD or Alien: Isolation.

    Cry of Fear relying so hard on jumpscares is not really well thought out. Jumpscares are only one of the three columns in horror. If you do too much of it, you have something like FNaF, which can be scary at first but then jumpscares become more annoying than "Oh, that one really got me!".

    The deal with the camera view from Silent Hill (and early Resident Evil games also, by the way), I honestly never liked fixed camera angles. Its not scary or threatening, just rather... clunky. I mean, I understand older games and all that, but even for that it felt awkward.

    Thirdly, and this is really subjective, but for me, true horror is not being able to fight back. Now, Alien did have some sort of "fight back" when you got the flamethrower, and its my only dislike about the game (though it just scared it off, to be fair). Both Cry of Fear and Silent Hill are more action horror than survival horror.

    #########-Up-ness, I dont consider it that scary. Interesting, yes, as it adds to the experience. But by itself, its not enough. (I know none of these games have gore, but I want to add this goes for it too)

  • Just a few notes:

    • Myers/PWYF: PWYF only losing stacks on successful attacks should be base for the perk itself. PWYF is really trash because (outside of Wraith) gaining stacks is difficult and losing them is easy.
    • Huntress/Huntress' Lullaby: Instead of completely reworking it for Huntress, just make it have a passive regression penalty, or the effect you suggested, even if the totem is broken.
    • Freddy/Remember Me: Why would map-wide TR be good for Freddy? It should be the exact opposite if you wish to keep the same idea. 0m TR once exit gates are powered. Though, this route has little to do with the whole concept of Remember Me.

    The rest (so far) seem good.

  • I thought it was because of the outbreak caused by Ash.

  • Sloppy Butcher and Discordance are solid perks that can be used even at yellow rarity. Even Discordance is slightly better the lower its tier.

    Pharmacy is effective at any tier as well, considering you want it for the medkit.

  • Little Jakey with a toolbox and a onesie. <3

  • Unrelated to the main point of the thread, but I love when people say that mindgames arent skillful on Spirit, lol.

  • @Krowplex said:

    Yeah, blood clothes. But for a survivor you will never play? You always play 1 survivor anyway. MAX 2. The others remain untouched because you always play with the same one.

    I play 5 different Survivors each day. 6 if I have a daily.

  • @Kagrenac said:

    That's a latency issue my friend

    Latency has nothing to do with this, if we are talking about the Killer's perspective. A Survivor experiencing a delay on dropping a pallet, thats latency. Getting hit by a pallet, an interactive object, in the match that you are hosting, thats not latency.

  • Stake Out does not help you for being bad. It takes the most effect the better you are at landing greats. Not to mention that landing every single skillcheck is impossible, even for the most veteran players. Its perfectly powerful how it currently is.

  • Im always iffy about wiggle-related perks because if too many are stacked together it basically becomes an impossible hook scenario. And whats the counter for that? Slugging. And what is a generally unfun way to play a match for both sides? Slugging. Stuff like the sabotage meta died for a reason.

  • Pig's good add-ons:

    • Tampered Timer (puts more pressure on the Survivor)
    • Crate of Gears (only decent because of Tampered Timer combo)
    • Amanda's Letter (despite its massively unjustified downside, I still find it powerful)

    Legion's good add-ons:

    • Iridescent Button (obvious)
    • Cold Dirt/Joey's Mix Tape (less effective now, but still work... I guess, but they have to be together)

    In Pig's case, she suffers from add-ons that are worthless and add-ons that should be base for her and are not worth their rarity (Rules Set no 2), as you said. Legion, on the other hand, has completely useless add-ons and others that even hinder you further (the new pin add-ons, for instance).

    So, interestingly, both have a single powerful add-on combo, a single nice ultra rare add-on, and a bunch of situational/unnoticeable minor add-ons. I think its a tie.

  • Unlike DCing (which collects data automatically), you can report them for AFKing.

  • Wait, are you really suggesting to bring pallet vacuum back?

  • While the idea is nice, keep in mind the following.

    1) If they were to implement this, it would be like Tinkerer or Moonlight offerings all over again. As they add new stuff, they will have to go revisit old perks and adjust them.

    2) There is absolutely no reason to have an Obsession with this perk. MoM and Sole Survivor are the same, but they are just there to alert the Killer that the player might have them. But this Dying Light is very easy to tell if the Killer has it.

  • @FireHazard said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/479122#Comment_479122

    The idea behind Hex: The Third seal was to remove the useless status effect it came with. This perk was only good with one killer "The Pig" to hide Jigsaw boxes from survivors, and as of how the game currently is, that was removed.

    The Blindness Status Effect brings nothing to the table, and the perk was way too situational to even be deemed viable, so it was changed to Broken, and Hindered to give killers a sense that their perk slot wasn't wasted on something useless.

    By doing this it gives Survivors the sense that this is a serious problem and should be addressed before more of us suffer from it, no survivor wants the Broken status effect on them and removing the Hex from game would disable this effect, by then either the damage has been done or it was broken early on. Hence why I said "High risk High Reward" these Hex Totems exist to give the killer a sense that if they use a perk slot for one they'll be given something that benefits them only when it is active.

    I think its a good addition, its not too OP and can be easily countered. Its a better choice over Blindness which lets face it only hides survivors that're being picked up, and most Survivors hide in lockers which already gives them Blindness.

    @FireHazard

    Third Seal doesnt affect Jigsaw boxes, just like Huntress' Lullaby doesnt either. Third Seal is meant for slug builds, and, honestly, its fine like that.

    A change for it would be to remove the Blindness effect and make it work like Knock Out.

    Please don't presume the presence of instaheals in the equation. Your team has already stated that instaheals were subject to change, and extrapolating from the other ultra rare survivor add ons (Odd Bulb and BNP), I highly doubt Syptic Agent or Syringe will be at all relevant in the future.

    Were you one of those who said Pinky Finger or moris were good enough of a counter for MoM?

    It's about the only counter to dream world after the gens are done, you cannot use gens anymore and finding someone injured to heal is not reliable as a solo. Freddy will often have everyone asleep for endgame, wait for noed to trigger (cause 99% of them use it), and then just slug away, without threat of adrenaline this would happen every time. I've opened gates while in dream world with remember me, and it takes forever.

    @darktrix

    Then give it to WAKE UP, not Adrenaline.

  • @Kiskashi

    I didnt put Danganronpa because it doesnt really classify as old game. That franchise is definitely one of my favourites of all time.

    I never got into Heavy Rain. The only remarkable from it that I remember is the glitch at the end of the game which would let you yell "SHAUN!" endlessly.

  • @Flyingdrull said:

    You realize the OP said to buff other things of LF right. He/She said that they get rid of the multidown and add buffs to other areas of LF. Sounds pretty good to me... his multi hit down really never actually happens like....ever. Only against dumb survivors does he get at most 2 people down (which i won't lie whenever that happens it feels pretty nice).

    Buffs I like to see on him are like what Frozenscum mentioned earlier to make the chainsaw faster in a sense and do something about his tantrum (which is more iconic than the multidown because it is a reference to the ending of the first Texas chainsaw massacre).

    @Flyingdrull

    The problem with this concept is, why nerf the multi-down in the first place? Its not like Legion where you can buff something and becomes broken, so you nerf something else. The multi-down isnt something that prevents LF from getting buffed. He just straight up sucks. He doesnt need "balance" changes, he needs buffs.

  • Yes. No Mither and Iron Will together fully counters Stridor.

  • What Remember Me needs is getting its nerf reverted and making it not take effect for the last Survivor alive. Thats it.
