  • BT needs a nerf, not a buff. If anything, it should go back to its old pre Deep Wounds version.

  • Some interesting trivia, whoever drew that also made this other one, at least I think so. The art style is identical.

Also, the girl in the middle looks like a fatter Feng.

  • Someone had been recently murdered, so we decided to hold a seance to figure out the culprit. We managed to get a really dark room, drew a magic circle with salt, got someone to act as the vessel who had to crouch in the middle of the circle inside an iron cage, covered in a white sheet, with a heavy wooden dog statue on top of it. After extinguishing the lights, the room got pitch dark and we sang a song...

    But it didnt work. :/

  • Not sure if it was you the one who brought up this Left Behind idea before or not. See, this part right here; "it's practically a free escape if the killer stands at a view point", I am strictly against making perks free escapes. No matter how ######### the perk has always been, no matter how it situational it is, no matter how it only works on one Survivor, "I win" perks are bad design and should never return. Perks that "make it slightly more difficult" are much better.

With this in mind, I say the following:

    • Only one of those two effects. Definitely not both. The lights being hidden is a good enough effect.
    • If you choose the "ranged invisibility", it needs to come with a heavy downside (either before or after the effect is triggered).
  • Why reduced repair speed? Why not straight up inability to repair?

  • I really wonder what game you are all playing sometimes compared to the one I am. I have seen literally no one do that within the past months.

And, honestly, I dobt really care if Killers do it. Survivors love doing by standing on the exit gates until the very last second. (And, no, its not the "I want to see everyone is safe" crap)

I can think of a lot of situations where even having a 4 second less cooldown on my exhaustion perk would have saved my life. More so if I didn't even need to run the perk but someone else was running it and I still got the benefit.

And like I said, if it's still underwhelming, there's still more that could be added to it. I'm not against a full rework either, but last thing I want is another MoM situation, unless you want 10 minute queues as survivor again because a single perk was so strong, that nobody wanted to play the opposing side, and that's what will happen if things like exhaustion is reduced while sprinting again. It was removed, because using an exhaustion perk more than once in a chase was unbalanced. Making a perk do that means it will be unbalanced.

I do disagree with having the ability to recover exhaustion while running. That should never make it back in no way or form.

There was a reason recovering from exhaustion while running was removed. It's still possible to run a killer around some loops for more than 80 seconds even without an exhaustion perk with no chance of counterplay.

My idea for Vigil was to make it just a global buff, much like Open Handed and Up The Ante are, and is able to stack with other Vigils. 4 vigils on a team means 80% increased recovery speed from status effects -- including exhaustion, nearly cutting the cooldowns or status effect durations in half for the entire team.

The change from small radius buff to global immediately makes it much more useful, but not overpowered, even when stacked.

If it's still underperforming after that, we can change it further.

That isnt the problem though. Range isnt the reason why Vigil is weak. The real problem is how its effect, when it does trigger, is useless. How many times have you seen in the past year a situation in which you wished Clown's/Wraith's blindness add-ons lasted slightly less, or Huntress'/Chainsaws' mangled add-ons lasted a few seconds less?

    Vigil needs something else entirely.

  • 100% should. Anything that made them act like an actual LEGION would be better.

  • This came with the introduction of EGC. It is a bit unfortunate, but its the way to ensure matches have a pseudo time limit. If the Killer kills everyone before the hatch opens, then the Survivor can just immerse their way around and drag the duration of the match.

You are aware that the DCer loses ALL points right? That alone is already a victory for the killer lol

Who cares about how many points someone else gets, or more like doesnt get? They are complaining about points they deserved and didnt get.

You forgot the AND of my sentence buddy. Go sweat. But please don't cry I'm the forum about survivors denying the 4k by DCing.

And even then that "and" is weak reasoning. The Killer loses points he would have obtained. But Survivors are allowed to complain about "my Survival category is #########" or "Where is points based on time alive?!", right?

  • He never said "Its hidden in the maps", he said "Its out there". And by that they meant a photo of a plane ticket to Japan (or something like that) they posted on one of their social networks, relating more to Adam than Rin.

If we are getting another Japanese folk creature, I would rather it be something based around a futakuchi-onna (a woman with a monstrous mouth on the back of her head). Looks way more badass. Or, as an outfit for Spirit. (It was going to be my entry for the 3rd anniversary contest, but I didnt feel like drawing)

    Edit:

Also, Ill take the chance to say, ######### Stranger Things. Really hoping it doesnt end up as a chapter.

  • I have thought for a while that if the Killer sees a constant red ping, a button should light up somewhere to "mark" the laggy Survivor. The mark would be visible to the other Survivors and the marked one as well. Just a way of saying "You be lagging, you should leave". If they dont leave, then the Killer can either choose to go on with the match or leave the lobby.

  • I see what you are trying to do. The problem is that not all perks have "counter perks" or "opposite side version". For instance, Corrupt Intervention, Blood Warden, Buckle-Up, MYC, Enduring, etc. And several of those that do have those, are actually general pool perks, such as Borrowed Time and Insidious, Tenacity and Deerstalker, Self Care and Sloppy Butcher, and so on. Would those not spawn at all then?

"Perk Combo Challenges" for more BP, now that could work and would be fun.

  • @Raptorrotas said:

If this is real it looks more like a streamlining process for stuff, like EW1/ pigycrouch and NS both using this new status now. Maybe they'll tack it on wraith too, for consistency. Although i admit that the red stain part seems nice.

(Similiar to adding DW to BT)

Isnt there a hag addon that currently 'deafens' the survivor, sounds like it'll be getting that new oblivious thing

While in EW I, Myers still has a 8m TR without M&A. Its definitely not going for him.

Hag's deafening add-ons temporarily occlude the Survivor's in-game sound. Just that. Nothing to do with aura reading impediment or inability to hear the TR.

  • Some months ago they released several different stats (most used perks, Killers with the most kills, death rate per map, etc). One of them was "Survival rate", which was a graph showing on average how much Survivors survived between each rank. Overall, it was mostly around 50%, or slightly below it. So, when people say "sURviVAl rATe iS lOWeR ThAN 50%!", they took it from there.

The problem with this is that its flawed. Until they release stats which dont count DCs as "kills", then... welp.

  • @Rydog said:

Yeah but I wonder if the survivor would even know they have the debuff. Would kinda defeat the purpose if they did!

Not really. They know they cant hear the TR, but they cant know whether they are within TR-distance or not.

  • I have said so before and I will keep saying it. This problem has a very simple solution. No need to remove tiers. Make bloodwebs have more than 1 perk per bloodweb the higher you go.

This is true. If something is a little weak, that's okay. We can always buff it up until it's in a good spot (Pop Goes The Weasel is a good example of that). If something is overpowered, then everyone gets frustrated while playing against it until it is nerfed, and then more people are frustrated that we nerfed it.

To give an example, compare the outrage from Pop Goes The Weasel to Mettle of Man.

There's also something said about making a killer that breaks the game. To use the example of a killer that can destroy walls (which was actually a prototype way back), that can be a very dangerous thing to do. It can be ridiculously powerful, but then you also run into the issue of "How do you balance it?" If the power breaks the game, you often can't balance it in a way that's fun without making it weak or frustrating to use.

Then are you finally admitting the Legion nerf was way too much?

  • Hard to believe I would live for the day someone said Fuming Mix Tape is better than Iridescent Button unironically.

"it's not meant to be used mid chase l"

First of all those buffs don't imply that. Second, who says that? You or the devs? There is nothing wrong about making it stronger to use it mid chase. That's how all other exhaustion perks are working: MID CHASE.

The first one does, very clearly. Less "setup" time means using it more reliably during a chase. If you are using it outside of a chase (attempting a save with it, escaping the basement, etc), those 3 seconds dont matter at all.

Devs, obviously. Head On is the best example of them wanting to force a certain playstyle on a perk. It has a setup time, so that you cant just jump into a locker instantly and use it during a chase. It causes exhaustion, not because it gives you haste, but because they didnt want you to combine it with other exhaustion perks because stun + haste is similar to stacking two exhaustion perks together (old BL + SB combo).

  • First off, I consider it a waste of shards buying teachables for characters that are free. I guess if you REALLY want it its fine, but getting to level 30-45 is so easy...

Secondly, I actually am very happy with this Shrine. That means I wont have to purchase disgusting Ash just for his perks. Not like I really want them, I just like having them all available.

Abused? ######### u talking about, it's more like a meme perk than useful for chases. Rarely saw people saving team mates with that.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/617765#Comment_617765

Explain your opinion. I think it does. And here is why:

To situational, can be easily countered once the killer knows you have that, doesn't give you that much distance, u can't lose the killer with that, saving a team mate with that is more than just situational (swf mandatory imo) and overall it's a meme perk.

    Thats kinda the point.

    - Its not meant to be used mid chase (reliably at least).

    - Its not meant to give distance difference.

You are trying to make use of a perk meant to be an "ambush" perk into a chase extender. Thats like saying Spine Chill's numbers should be higher because they dont make much of a difference, despite the perk being meant to be anti-Killer-stealth.

  • The miss penalty is hardly "fair", at least in its current state where the power has so many limitations.

  • @Ember_Hunter said:

Not related to the topic, but should Calm Spirit or Iron Will prevent making noise while being affected by the Plague?

In its current state, its one of the very few incentives to cleanse. So, if they were to change that now, no.

  • About Stake Out, ######### no. If Im using this perk for skillchecks, I dont want to waste tokens on actions that are beyond my control. Stake Out is fine as it is.

  • You are indeed just salty.

But leaving that aside, why nerf these Killers when your problem is with those very specific add-ons?

  • @Shaped said:

They did buffed it in one of the recent ptb's (can't remember) but survivors complained and devs reverted the change and they even nerfed it a little bit. So instead of the buff we got a slight nerf. Trolled.

    @Shaped

The Thanathophobia case is an interesting one. People didnt complain about it, but Devs decided against it.

  • I agree with this. Solid ideas.

I would also suggest one more thing, which is less of a buff and more like a QoL change. There is something like a small delay or the vomit doesnt actually start shooting if you dont charge purge enough. For instance, if you do M2 and release too quickly, you wont vomit and will enter cooldown anyway. This happens when I want to puke on something, but I try doing it so fast that sometimes this happens, making me waste a bit of time.

Granted its a bit of my fault, but I would like that either:

    1) Release of purge doesnt have that delay./You vomit anyway if you used M2 at all regardless of how long you held it.

    2) Dont suffer a cooldown if you dont vomit.

  • I wouldnt mind if they upped Vile Purge effectiveness just a small bit at base (and adjust add-ons accordingly).

  • I have nothing against fake pallets.

  • Small addition to "mori". Most of the times it will refer to the offering, but people do tend to use it to refer to "killing by your own hand" (as a verb) as well, including other perks like Devour Hope and Rancor.

  • @Kerbert said:

In French, the entity is said in a way which implies it is female, kinda like Senorita and Senor in spanish, the a indicates female and o indicates male. However I think it's more likely that it's an it.

    @Kerbert

Thats wrong though. Its a common mistake for people who speak genderless noun languages. Just because a noun is female or male, doesnt mean that whatever that noun is referring to is of said gender.

Thats like saying a "knife" is male in Spanish the word for knife is a male noun.

  • If you think thats the reason why Dead Hard is so popular, then all I will reply to this thread with is the following:

    Lol

@Jago @Crazewtboy except that WGLF only gives stacks for safe unhooks

    @DudeDelicious

The definition of a "safe unhook" gets blown out of the window when BT is involved.

  • Screw shirtless David. Where is Swimsuit Quentin? Its canon to the movies and perfect for summer!

  • They should revert it back to how it was before Deep Wounds was introduced. It was probably the fairest version of the perk.

  • I still have a problem with this idea, considering how with a Key (which is basically what your suggestion is) on a closed hatch is an easy insta-win thing. And, yes, I mean it in its current state. So, cleanse two totems (or more), hold M1 for some seconds, and escape assured? You open the hatch instantly, you jump instantly, in a place on the map where the Killer will not be present at all.

One thing is a perk like Deliverance (slightly situational, but leaving that aside). Has a fair condition, and a fair reward. Now, what you are suggesting is a slightly harder condition and a disproportionately good reward.

    5. Something about stealth

Far better idea than all the other 4. (Though I do agree Wake Up should get some love as well)

  • @Clockso said:

if they fix the terror radius on the 2 floors this map won't be bad, make it so the terror radius is horizontal based

That would be a nerf. No TR if you are on a different floor? Means a patrolling Killer will hear you work on a generator and you wont notice it until they are right behind you if they just jump down.

  • Why are you trying to unhook someone being face camped in the first place? Shouldnt you be spending your time better?

  • @Peanits said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/605615#Comment_605615

I wouldn't count on that (the pallet bit, not the library part). Generally we try to keep things consistent throughout the game. Imagine being a new player and trying to remember what the pallet looks like on each map. On one map it's a pallet, on another it's a bookshelf, on a third it's a stack of boxes, etc. It would be very confusing for something that you need to be able to recognize instantly.

Then lets look at maps like Yamaoka Estate or Swamp. They have walls or logs that are difficult to identify as vaulting spots on the go.

  • Im waiting for Sole Survivor, just so I can have all perks from the Halloween DLC (not going to buy it ever). I might hope for Ash's perks as well, but no rush either.

Oh, Ghostface's maybe as well. Still too soon, but not particularly waiting for one.

"Hatch Interrupt" means grabbing the Survivor while they are jumping in, which is no longer possible.
