I play both. I agree with the good, I criticise the bad.
I call people out on their bias and their BS. I recognise that certain killers/perks/add-ons need changes. It's just that people who stay in one camp seem to have their head shoved so far up that they can't even consider the fact that other people with different opinions play the other side.
-
Geez. So much Claudette hate!
It's not MY fault that you can't see me in tall grass. And that I saw you with Spine Chill. And now exist on the other side of the map. Completing the final generator.
-
I think that Yamaoka Rin is meant to be a hybrid of Samara AND Kayako.
As for Leatherface and Hillbilly, it's same as Trapper and Jason. It's all to do with the rights, and by that I mean that bHVR couldn't/can't get them very easily. It took them a good while to get Leatherface, and even ones like SAW they had to limit what they could use. Freddy is even the damn remake/reboot Freddy. #NotmyFreddy

She has 45m radius lullaby. She doesnt need terror radius.
Disagree.
The terror radius is still used on Huntress to determine things like the Stealth part of a Survivor's Evader emblem.
I'm not sure if this is true too, but I do recall hearing once that the distance is greater in front of the Huntress, rather than behind her, giving off a more directionalised humming with 45m being the maximum distance for directly in front of her.
You can also equip terror radius perks, but I don't know why you'd want to.

i know i dont need ruin. when a survivor asked me why i play noed. i simply answerd. the same reason u use AD and dead hard. not because i need it but because i can XD. mybe i try devour. its like a gamble that makes you win. an actual risk reward........unlike new ruin which is take a risk for no reward. its good with surveillance but as soon as ruin is destroyed u have 2 useless perks. so u have 2 perks against 16. killers need more perk slots....or better perks
I run Surveillance all the time. It's actually low-key great since nobody expects it atm.
And I just despise NoED considering it's severe lack of warning.

yea i know its kinda dumb. i just want the victory cube back ;-; im realy just about to play freddy with noed, pop, bbq, and (some other perk )
With my Freddy experiences, I don't think that you need NoED. You could try Devour Hope if you're not running Ruin.
-
One problem that I see in your build specifically, is that you have a lot of instant down. I'm no expert, but I think that generally, if you go for the 2-hit down (like MOST killers!) then the emblem system will reward you. If you go insta-saw, NoED, Make Your Choice, and get them in one hit, then I believe that you get less Malicious or Chaser due to applying less damage.
I know that states are basically damage, but spreading it over 2 hits seems to be rewarded more in the ranking system.

A true Pig main would tell people to crouch to play around BT. For shame. :P
Look, not everyone is a true Jigsaw diciple. I take pity in them for a moment. Then stick an RBT on them.
I just so happen to play a pool of killers that counter Borrowed Time, yet have a playstyle with an honour code to ignore them.
-
You're complaining about Borrowed Time? Just go after the person who unhooked. It's not that hard. Same with Decisive Strike.
Punish survivors for taking your kill!
@premiumRICE said:
Self care is pretty useless tho
It has it's moments. Like when your teammates won't come with you after they unhook you. Still happens.
And, no. I did not run into a corner. Just far enough away from the hook to not get stabbed and put back on it immediately.
-
Tried a similar thing with the Skirmish mode in Overwatch between games. It doesn't do anything for me and it just made the time to find games just even longer.
-
The problem with Furtive is the "IN A CHASE" clause. Remove that, and we might have a usable perk.

I think this might have been part of the decision to rely less on Great skill checks. PC players suggest that skill checks are easier with better computers. Those of us that are unfortunate enough to have to play on a comfortable sofa in front of a large screen TV don't have the luxury of 120 frames per second skill checks.
While I agree with the Devs of making Ruin less skill check based, I think that they're looking at this the wrong way. Yes, natural regression is great. But most higher rank people are complaining about overall generator speed, so I've always said have Ruin literally slow the game down.
-
Gen jockeys are actually good people to have in a game. They complete the objective.
I see myself more as a "Gen jockey" since I'm terrible at running in higher ranks, so I prioritise stealth and completing my objective.
If you're stupid enough to wander into a camping stealth killer's lair, then that's on you.
-
@Rin_is_my_waifu said:
TL;DR They should learn to hit them instead of crying
Have you tried to hit a Great skill check on console, with lag, under pressure? Not all of us have the luxury of just "learning", because believe me, I have tried.
But then again, when you have to contend with input lag and Australian NBN internet, it surprising that I can actually play the game at purple ranks some days.
Your TL;DR makes you sound like an elitist. Maybe try a little empathy and see how other players might have to go about things. Not all of us can have a several thousand dollar gaming PC with all the trimmings.
-
He should be next on the list of reworks, and with the Ruin REWORK, he should still be fine. He is stronger in the lower ranks, than the higher ranks though.
Bamboozle and Pop Goes are still considered really strong perks, so it might be worth having him for them.
I'd probably get him on sale, though. Not that we shouldn't be supporting the developers. It's just that he's not THAT great right now. And you'll get Kate if you buy the chapter.
-
Weaker side of A Tier, but mobility and an instant-down that you still have to work for. Sounds like a balanced version of Hillbilly to me, and still quite powerful.
-
Tracking for Killer. Running at higher ranks for Survivors.
I can run lower rank killers, even with underpowered perks and NO EXHAUSTION, but at higher games and with a Blendette skin and Sprint burst/Spine Chill, I still struggle in chase.
As for tracking, it's more initial finding of targets and somewhat keeping a chase.
-
Both have their merits.
I think that new is the more balanced for all ranks, where as old is an immediate pay--off for most killers.
I did actually do my own discussion highlighting pros and cons of each, but it seems to have been ignored.

There is a trailer online, it is called hunting grounds. One person plays the predator, 4 people play mercenaries trying to complete their mission. It will be a fps, so it will probably be closer to deathgarden than dbd.

Sounds great! I really wanted to play Deathgarden, but I think that I heard they shut it down.
Shame too. I don't play on PC.

Is it a PC exclusive? Because I've looked into getting it on console, but can't see anythig abot it anywhere.

As a console player, all I can really say is that the "Pick Up" survivor button is dofferent to what I normally want to press for that type of action. It's easier for me to hit them, then pick them up.

What about the new killers getting looped to oblivion???
Doubt it though. They have their head to far up.
Did it on a smurf with randoms. They won't do gens.
We were both suprised that nothing got done.
-
To me the main Gen-Rush problem isn't so much the generators themselves (that is a small problem though.....) but more the toolboxes that can be used on them and the gen-speed add-ons. Maybe if the Devs did something like nerf the repair speed for toolboxes, but upped the Sabo speed or something like that, then maybe we'll see some decent change.

Maybe play something else? An outside hobby? Socialize? Sunlight? Any of that appeal to you?
Well, I would except I like horror movies, and there's only so many times one can play Until Dawn, Man of Medan or Ride to Hell: Retribution.
-
Builds? I dunno.
Killers? Nurse, Spirit, Myers, Hillbilly, Bubba and Plag.
Nurse, Spirit, Hillbilly - You already have enough mobility to get me.
Hillbillly, Bubba - You have a chainsaw that you've *conveniently* relied on all game.
Myers - You've been running Haunted Ground and popped Tier 3 about 5 times already. You have more than enough Exposed.
Plag - People are Broken for 95% of the game (after infection). You don't need to add Exposed.

Been doing that for months.
Combine it with basic Claudette skins, including the brown jacked and it's a great stealth build.
-
Well, I've played with red ranks, and I've been to Rank 5 max before.
I started smurfing just to break away from all the sweat and because loading times were getting pretty long. And besides the usual "I'm literally only here to ruin people's day" players you occasionally get, it's been pretty fun for the most part.
Playing at Rank 17, with under-levelled or underpowered perks, can be rewarding in its own way. Somehow level 1 Self Care and Spine Chill with level 3 Botany Knowledge and Lightweight work pretty well against most baby killers.
-
I've been proxy-camped out too many times because Hags can't be bothered to actually fight me as an equal.
Much like Saw-Only Billies/Bubbas, I would like nothing more than to see them nerfed further than old Freddy.
That being said, I can deal with her either losing the part where my camera locks onto her phantasms, or adding a minimum safe distance to hooked survivors. I may be a dark-clothed Claudette, but I'm not using Urban Evasion for ONE KILLER.

I had to change my PlayStation profile because salty survivors would find reasons to report me. I’ve gotten two warnings so far. Now they have no reasons to report me so good luck with that. I’ve been on PlayStation for 10 years and never had issues with being reported until I started playing dbd
Good thing to do with those people is to report them for "false reporting/flagging" so that they just get ignored whenever they report.
Not sure if it works, but I like to have a little hope that it'll actually make a difference.
-
Yes, it's balanced, but it's an incredibly annoying and unfun perk.
There's no warning and on certain maps, some totems are near impossible to find without using specific perks.
Some killers it's understandable on, but still BS, and when you combine it with mobility killers (Nurse, Hillbilly, Spirit) or on an Exposure based Myers, then I want to make Decisive Strike lethal to the killer.
My general philosophy is also "If I can't kill them in normal gameplay, why do I deserve to cheese them in the endgame?"
-
Literally letting all the survivors farm up, do all 5 gens and getting enough to pip/safety/get massive BP, then getting them all in the basement. Just have a farming session and let the survivors get their Archives progress in exchange for them letting you get yours.
It's what I plan to do. Ngl.

@S_Panda said:
There's a general lack of killers in the higher ranks is the issue. Red rank survivors take the killers that generally should be matched with your rank while the 15s end up matched with you since you don't have killers of your rank. Killers have a bad time facing survivors completely out of their league and stop playing killer and self-fulfilling prophecy almost: some survivors have gone to the quicker queue side.
Good to know.
That being said, though, I wouldn't be complaining if they were Green killers that I was facing, and it's more that 15 is pretty much the "tutorial over" of the ranking system.
I would also consider just ranking up, but matches are hard enough to find, and Red rank killers tend to be *cough* less favourable people to be around.
-
What perks and add-ons are you using? What rank are you at? How long have you been playing Pig for?
Ambush can be good, but I can see why a lot of people go for the basic attack. Jukes and chases ARE the weakest part of the Pig's gameplay. You have to rely more on your stealth and mind games. RBT's can apply pressure, but that depends on the survivors in question.
So, to summarise, Pig isn't an RNG Killer her PRIMARY POWER is. And she has a very unique kind of playstyle.
-
One of my younger brothers came up with my Xbox gamertag, which I will leave out of the forums.
As for my forum name, I wanted it to be different to my Xbox name. I main Claudette, because I originally ran her for Self Care back in Rank 16 (don't hate me, it was ages ago. Nobody heals in that low a rank.) and Pig because I like to torture people, rather than outright kill them and I'm a SAW fanatic.
Therefore, PigMainClaudette. Also, Pig first sounds way better than ClaudetteMainPig.

I mean Survivors do change and improve, so do Killers as well.
If its early game and outside of chases, than you simply need to monitor far off generators more than close-by ones. Once you load in just go for the farthest generators to catch Survivors, they don't always spawn there 100% of the time, but it's usually where they'll be.
At the end of a chase you simply just do the same thing and try to box the Survivors into areas with no pallets but plenty of generators. It keeps them from easily running and looping for awhile AND makes those generators defenseless.
I suggest you do that, but if it's really an issue than use perks like Ruin, Surveillance, Brutal Strength, and Pop goes the weasel on her. Surveillance is especially good on Pig.
@Fibijean said:

The best way to get pressure in the early game is early downs/hooks. As Pig, that means that you want to find a survivor (and possibly get a trap on their head, depending on your playstyle) ASAP. It's more challenging as a stealth killer, because none of them having any mobility-boosting powers. Whispers is a great perk on Pig, because you can use it to crouch efficiently - if the perk is inactive, don't bother crouching, because it makes you slower and there are no survivors close enough to hear your TR anyway.
At the start of the match, obviously you're likely to find survivors on generators. The advantage of stealth killers is they can often get a free first hit if they play their cards right and catch the survivor off-guard out in the open. If you hear a generator being worked on, use LOS blockers to get as close as you can without being seen, and then go in for the hit, which you'll usually get. If you're playing Myers or Ghostface, you might want to use this time to stalk them instead. For the second hit, obviously at that point all the rules of a normal chase apply, and you just want to get them downed and hooked as soon as you can to put pressure on the other survivors.
Do what I'm doing but better.
Good. It isn't entirely a me problem. It's a practice thing.
And Firehazard, I run Ruin, Surveillance, BBQ and Nurse's. I made a post on here explaining that Surveillance is better than Discordance for a majority of killers. XD

@FireHazard said:
I've made an entire guide to The Pig for something like this, but I'm on mobile at the moment so... I'll sum it up for you.
Stealth Killers are inherently Mid-Tier to Low-Tier due to the issues that all M1 Killers face in chases. Despite GhostFace and Myers having literally no Terror Radius outside and inside some chases, they're still M1 Killers, so they're limited in what they can do.
For The Pig, she has some tools she can use in a chase to help. For one, in low wall to mid walled loops, you can use your dash attack to either mind-game or fool the Survivor into a hit/down. Some Survivors tend to either stick at the loop when you crouch or they run off to avoid the chance of being hit. If you know what they'll do, you can try for a dash attack by manipulating where you're turning to make them walk into you, OR you can crouch and have them run away from the loop and uncrouch to hit them normally.
Pigs RBTs (Reverse Bear Traps) are also effective in keeping Survivorx off generators. It's best to save them until your Ruin breaks OR 1 or 2 generators are completed. Once this happens, put the RBT on the next downed Survivor. This will keep them off generators and save you some time to down other Survivors.
Other simple tricks like moonwalking around corners to hide your light or mind-gaming vaults is what you should look into. I'll also link a video to the most common tiles (aka loops) in this game. It's best to learn these so you get an idea of how Survivors play.
Here's that video
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=p6QYjInzLeM
Good luck!
Might have been a bit unclear, but it's more outside of the chase and the early game.
As Pig, I find that I personally have a massive snowball effect. Happens with a lot of my killers, but her especially. I've been playing her for about a year now.
Either I'm versing way less potatoes, or people understand "do the generators" more than they did.

Is Australia counted as EU and was the killer on Xbox with the username Reaper Andross?
-
Good at getting kills? Yes.
Good at ranking up?
-
As someone who plays on both sides, all I can say is that it's very team dependent. I play as a Rank 7 Survivor at time of post, and only 12 on Killer. Generators always get done slower when I play Survivor. Seemingly.
I played a few Killer games in order to try and get some Archives done, but the games went by too quickly. Could I have done better if I had targeted the players I saw instantly, even if they were unhooked 20 seconds ago? Probably. But I'm one of those killers who actively avoids "tunnelling" where I can. If it's been a minute and you ran into me, then it's your fault.
Maybe the problem is that I predominantly play stealth killers. I did get a 4k with my Spirit build that only has Ruin 1, as opposed to my Oni which doesn't have Ruin or Corrupt, and my Pig (my strongest killer, btdubbs) who has Ruin 3. Oni I only got 2 hooks, and my Pig got 1 kill.

Quite the opposite. I'm actually MORE LIKELY to stick with something unless I see Spine Chill, as opposed to running at the first sign of Terror Radius.

And people like you are part of the reason that there's a shortage of killers as of late. I've had a similar post a while ago, where I was a Rank 7 Survivor with Ranks 3, 19 and 20. Rank 20 had no perks, 19 only had Balanced and they both got me killed. We were versing a Rank 2 Oni.
I'm currently a Rank 12 killer, and I've also recently versed rank 7's and got wrecked on my main. I didn't have my preferred add-ons, but still. That build and game, it wouldn't have mattered much.

Well, I put Kennith at 3rd because of the anesthetic side of things. Gathering the ingredients and NOT killing yourself accidentally in a homemade lab would be kinda hard.
-
I find a fair bit of success with Pig, but I still think that she needs minor tweaking before I'm going to call her "Fine"
Dash is the biggest one. It charges too slowly for what you get. And the roar just gives you away too much. Ghostface moves the same speed when he's crouched, so why don't I get the same? Not to mention that the ability to grab from stealth would be appreciated.
-
Legion isn't THAT bad. And you do need better perks for them, and some practice. Monitor and Abuse is actually fantastic for the Legion, as it helps you get into a chase at a shorter range, then stab them easier. And with a larger Terror Radius in a chase, you get more Killer's Instinct.
Or you just play them differently in general. Frenzy, stab, immediately de-frenzy. Chase as normal.
And according to statistics, Clown is actually the weakest killer in the game.

Not if they have Undetectable!
