  • Tunnelling.

Rather than playing the part of a proper horror villain, you're just giving the middle finger to a single player and saying that the last 20 minutes they have tried to load into a game for are about to be wasted completely.

As for Gen-Rushing, that's on the killer for not applying enough pressure. Survivors as a whole are ACTUALLY DOING THEIR OBJECTIVE for once and now killers are complaining. Before the "recent wave of gen-rushing" I had my hands in at least 3 generators every game, usually 4. Some games I'm now barely getting 2. Is this a problem? I don't think so. I can still apply pressure as a killer and stomp a team when they still need to finish 3 generators.

I once had a survivor die in the collapse and complain that I "didnt kill him the entity did" which of course makes no sense

Ok, so that for me is more about denying the satisfaction of the killer getting me, rather than showing them up. It's one of the few ways I can try to feel better about a completely screwed match with 2 early DC's then a Trapper who trapped both exit gates.

so what you're proposing is : give penalties to facecampers

I want to give penalties to Hags who place their traps at my feet on a hook. I want penalties to people who tunnel out one person.

What I want for face-camping is for it to become a bannable offence in an ideal world. My first ever game, I literally got face-camped by a Legion. It was super unfun and I almost had that moment of "Why did I buy this game again?", so yeah. More severe penalties for facecamping and remove Leatherfaces reliance on it.

what im meaning is hitting your obsession with the dash lets you keep your stacks so making it a basic attack would mean a nerf

And I didn't know that since I don't run Save the Best on Pig. I use Ruin, Surveillance, Nurse's and BBq.

  • @Kagari_Leha said:

why ? it would make STBFL weaker on her, and it would make no sense considering Demo's shred isnt a basic, and same for Legion's Frenzy now

Save the Best doesn't reduce the animation time after a dash.

  • NOW! As for Leatherface, I like the fact that he's essentially an AoE killer, but I hate the fact that his chainsaw is an instant down, and the collision with terrain is extremely broken. Better since they patched it, but still extremely questionable.

Also highly promotes camping which everyone hates.

Don't know HOW you'd rework him, but just something to make him less annoying to play against and less likely to camp.

I know The Doctor is next, but I think The Cannibal and The Pig really need one too.

Pig is fine. She just needs some small quality of life buffs. Such as the RBT activating during Endgame, charge speed increase for Dash and making the Dash count as a basic attack again.

i think his power is fine, it's his add-ons that should be changed

And yeah, Pig shouldnt have add-ons for crouching, that's stupid. even if i love her, the common add-ons are just, pointless (like most of Ghostface's add-ons, which is why i put him in the main poll list)

Crouch Pig is best Pig. Combine Video Tape with Combat Straps or John's Medical file and you have one of the better loadouts for her.

  • Not every Survivor is trying to fill in a specific niche for their playstyle. They might have also forgotten to add an offering, or swap out a perk.

As for switching lobbies, Killers are more likely to do it if they see 3-4 people load in at the same time over the items they're carrying. Or switch to Franklin's.

BOTH sides get chances to tweak their loadout before the game search, during the game search and in the lobby. If you can't finish your loadout before that on either side, then that's a you problem.

The thing is, we have a limited amount of ways to motion with survivor so sometimes I even teabag to thank a killer.

I had one killer who downed someone almost instantly so they DC and then another person DC as a result. 2-1 he saw me and started smacking a gen and proceeded to let us do all gens and leave. When he walked us to the exit gate I pointed, put down my medkit and the. Teabagged my way out the door I certainly hope he realizes that was all THANKS and not being toxic

There's a difference between using 2-3 fast crouches to communicate and spamming it like you're back on 2012 Xbox Live CoD. When most people talk about "Teabagging", it's the toxic spam to try to say "I'm BeTtEr ThAn YoU! hUr HuR hUr!"

  • You're asking the internet to be nice to each other? Sure. How about we get a peace treaty between the USA and North Korea while we're at it.

Serious talk though, it seems like the DbD Forums are divided into Survivor mains and Killer mains, with those of us in the middle getting shafted to discredit our opinion based on the argument at hand. I personally think that tunnelling, camping, Hag's Phantasm traps and the Chainsaw powers are all extremely negative qualities to the game, but I get called a "salty Survivor main". Too many people are also way too quick to cry "NEW THING OP PLZ NERF!" rather than giving it about 3 months to settle and people to learn the nuances of all the perks and powers.

One thing that I would like to see BHVR do is take a lesson from Ubisoft Montreal's game Rainbow 6: Siege. Have a season similar to their "Operation Health" where they spend the season just refining the game. Focusing on bug fixes, and the player experience. Content can wait if a better experience is gained out of it.

I agree with you, but there are very few times where I'll just DC because it's not worth it. Hyperdoc on the game is literally unwinnable. Huntress on haddonfield isn't worth it either

Even then, you can just suicide on the Survivor's side. You get some Bloodpoints, AND disable a hook for a good while. As for killers, well, that's a bit more tricky. I had 2 Survs DC quickly after I got them good with Trapper, so I got the other 2 to farm and escape. Too many times the other Survivors suffer because someone got mad they got downed within the first 30 seconds.

  • ........... or you accept that there are maps that are better for either side, stick around in the game, gain some BP and NOT make 2-4 other people hate you. Just saying.

A match could easily turn around for a Survivor team if they have that one last person there, even if it's to occupy time being hooked and disabling a hook, or even something like taking the killer's mori adds a couple of seconds to everyone else's life expectancy. Who knows! You might even just safety-pip.

  • As a survivor, I kind of like Purple ranks. Depends on the killer and how dirty they play.

I'm only a Green rank killer, and I find that I have either a huge snowball effect, or I get completely stomped when I get a little higher. Very rarely do I have a close one where they almost escape.

Then again, I'm asking rank 12-15 survivors to play around Ruin with a crouched Pig or a bear trap near by.

Also, now that you've had some time as a killer, @stylisticx, do you find players who DC more annoying as Survivor or as Killer? I had a game tonight where I had 2 early DC's against my Trapper, and it's frustrating, but I actually find it to be worse on the Survivor side.

It says she was just a girl when she died. Also, I was more talking about survivors

Ace, Bill and possibly Jane should all be over the age of 40.

  • Pig. I'm a SAW fanatic, and I like stealth killers.

    Build:

Video Tape + John's Medical File - Instant dash, almost same as Insta-Saw, but actually fair.

Hex: Ruin - slow stealth killer needs to alow the game down. Just a little bit.

BBq + Chilli - Best tracking perk. And BP gain to replenish add-ons.

Surveillance - NOBODY expects this perk. It's good tracking, especially with an ambush style of play.

A Nurse's Calling - combine with Dash for easy downs.

Build relies on you focusing more on generators than hunting survivors. Chase them if you find them, but outside of that, don't leave your generators. Don't unload your RBT's early either. Wait until after first gen is done, or Ruin is destroyed. Then use to stall.

  • I do in Purple ranks. And I have Bond.

Too many times back in Yellow and Green ranks, nobody would come and heal me. It's more of an insurance thing than being a critical part of my playstyle.

  • I've had an AFK Demagorgon who was running Insidious, but I was still able to get Stealth emblem progression by sticking near them. Just wait nearby for a few minutes, and you should get enough to safety.

  • Some killers can quite easily get by without Hex: Ruin because of one thing that they have in their kit: MOBILITY.

As someone who mainly plays stealth killers, sometimes I've had 2 gens popped before I hook someone because I couldn't get to a survivor fast enough. Ruin helps me stall out just that little bit to get a hook or 2 to help me snowball later.

Quite a few killers as well have moved over to using Corrupt Intervention to force survivors towards them instead. I haven't levelled Plague, so I don't have that option.

And I believe the most used perk for killers is BBq + Chilli.

  • Mechanically, either Ghostface or Myers. Especially if we go off of just the base kit.

As for adding perks and add-ons, I really prefer Dash Pig. Main things to use there are A Nurse's Calling, Surveillance, Video Tape and John's Medical File. With this build, you can get some good aura reading, then quickly dash to the target that makes a Windstorm Wraith jealous.

  • Most people have already got me covered with this main point, but make the killer challenges more in line with the survivor ones. It feels like a majority of killer ones are all simply RNG based. This may be mainly due to the large emphasis on "Complete in one Trial" challenges.

It'd also be nice to do multiple challenges at once, especially with smaller challenges like grabbing one survivor, but it's mainly the difference between killer and survivor challenges.

Archives is meant to be a grind, but it's 2 different grinds. Survivors just have to work, while killers have to go out of their way and hope that people don't completely screw them over.

  • While I've only ever come across 1 Blood Warden in over a year of playing, it's still always an eternal risk. That being said, it's also about having less pressure as a survivor. We don't have to worry about how much longer we have to stay if there isn't a timer.

  • Hag is currently the least used killer in the game. She also has one of the highest kill ratings, though, which leads to 2 possible points

    • She has a small, but dedicated fanbase
    • People don't like playing her because she's slow and has a boring playstyle

I'm going to go with mainly the second point, but not denying the first outright.

Personally, I despise how many Hag players place their traps virtually at my feet, or close enough to me that all paths are blocked and I can't get away from the hook without being tunnelled off it. And I'm NOT changing my overall playstyle to include an item that I can hardly use normally. Considering that Devour Hope, one of her teachables, is also proximity based and that limitation is almost ignored by her power.

From MY experiences, we're not calling for nerfs to destroy her, just that there's more counterplay against all traps so that we don't get trap proxy-camped or trapper impossible escape outside of specific build tailoring to target specific killers, especially the one with the lowest pick rate.

  • Hold the button, like a lunge. I do that until the attack finishes and it works fine for me.

Also, it's best not to try and use her Dash all the time, unless you're running my favourite build of Video Tape and John's Medical File. Without charge add-ons, it's really hard to pull off.

Generally speaking, you're best to stand back up and basic. Oh! And only start using your RTBs AFTER the first generator is complete.

    @JC316 said:

Lack of killers is what's causing this. Seems nerfing them into the ground and then telling you to git gud as killer isn't a viable strategy.

And I don't think that it's really lack of killers due to nerfs. Ever since Archives, people have been doing generators WAY more quickly, and some of the people who play exclusively killer would be jumping over to survivor to get them done, getting out fairly easily, then staying on survivor. But that's my theory. Especially since a lot more of the survivor challenges are grind challenges, as opposed to luck-based ones.

  • Well, maybe if Hillbillies used something other than their chainsaw and played the game like everyone else, then maybe we wouldn't have this problem................

As for matchmaking, they just need to fix who you get paired up with.

  • A killer like the Oni will bring changes to the meta to counter the possibility of coming across him. We'll start to see more med-kits and possibly even some Botany Knowledge to counter him and the more recent "Slow-builds" utilising Thanatophobia and Sloppy Butcher. It'll return towards more of a healing meta.

When new content comes, the meta will change. As strategies become stagnant, people will try to find ways to counter and exploit the existing meta that will force change.

Think outside of the box. You don't literally have to scribble over it, You do have a house up there, ya?

Even masking tape over a TV screen would be difficult to play with. Especially with how dark maps like Shrine are. Just imagine adding a big white + in the middle of your TV that you can't see through. And, yes, I know that I can thin down the tape, but the point still stands. I can't see through it.

Then again, I'm a console player who finds that precision quite difficult unless it's against AI. And I think that Hillbilly is the console equivalent of Nurse, that requires less skill.

If it was a brown add-on that literally functions similar to the ones used by Nurse and Doctor, then all it would be is a useful tool for people to learn the character without having to lose massive amounts of rank, get super frustrated with the character and dropping them almost instantly or having to smurf.

  • As a console player, samething to help us with precision ranged characters would be nice.

  • The main thing with DbD compared to Last Year is that there is more mobility on both sides, and health conditions are different.

The devs did also kind of try to do more vertical maps with The Game, which is the most universally hated map.

As for Blendettes, somewhat being one myself, is that as a DbD Survivor, you have ZERO outs outside of literally running loops or using pallets. In Last Year, Classmates can actually go and attack the Fiend, even kill them. This makes DbD more of a stealth game than Last year, so naturally people will gravitate towards the most viable stealth option.

I do agree though that something has to be done about the ambience and sound design of DbD, though. My main concern is that a good part of the sound is based around the terror radius and it is the largest part of ambient noise around the place. Besides killer specific noises that basically tell you exactly who you're versing, there's no real noise in the game outside of proximity.

  • Last thing I need against half the roster is to be forced into the basement. It's already hard enough to find totems as is, and we already have a spot in the killer's shack.

  • Claudette. I picked her up to get Self Care as a perk, and eventually make it a teachable. Then I got a good build on her and just kept with her. Not to mention her passive ability. That kinda helped.

Currently working up a Yui build to become more of a runner. Gonna start using her a bit more when I figure out what I want to do with her build.

  • The constant repeats of the SAME CHRISTMAS SONGS remixed and redone by about 30 different artists, excessive heat, lots of dumb questions really get on my nerves, but that's Australian liquor retail at Christmas.

The paychecks for all the extra hours I have to put in are pretty good, though.

  • First thing that needs to happen, though is that it no longer supplies the Oni with free blood. I do have a meme build where I use all the injury perks and No Mither, but now I'm never going to play it again because of how it interacts with the Oni and I am NOT gonna get caught out with that on the one game I do decide to play with it on.

  • @Rex_Huin said:

I think I agree - Surveillance is a really useful perk. Time is a precious commodity for killers and it helps you use it optimally.

Having said that I have been absolutely wrecked recently by a hillbilly who paired Discordance with Infectious Fright and made it pay handsomely...

Discordance can work but its power is out of your control. I think over an extended period of games Surveillance would provide more benefit.

...........but that would mean a Hillbilly used his hammer. That's not how you play Hillbilly. You use the chainsaw and only the chainsaw.

    Just saw.

    Just Saw.

    JUST SAW.

And now you know how to play the Hillbilly. You're welcome.

Sad thing is that nobody will understand that second reference in there.

  • Monitor and Abuse is actually very good for Legion. Your base terror radius now becomes 24m which is easier to close the gap and hit Survivors early with, then grows to 40m which procs more notice for Killer's Instinct. You can also hit someone, then de-activate your power and hunt them normally.

And that's why I came up with the point that 1st box never should have the key. Again, my playstyle doesn't involve me checking boxes. If someone has a trap on their head I actively avoid them, unless they run into me while I'm not in a chase or I find them doing a box while going from gen to gen, otherwise I'm off checking generators.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/917166#Comment_917166

I never stated that boxes shouldn't kill. I said that I believe that the RBT is meant to slow the game down, not be a guaranteed kill. That's why I feel bad if a survivor is unlucky enough to die to the trap. And most of these nerfs (not being able to see boxes/exhaustion/mangled) is to encourage a playstyle that doesn't revolve around tunnelling the trapped survivor. Like, why would you need the Exhaustion addon if you don't plan on finding that survivor again? Cause if they happen to run SB they'd be able to run to a box 3sec faster?

Also I've stated that the boxes confuse NEW players, making them think they have to patrol those.

I'm a Pig main and I love her, I play her 80% of the time when I play killer, but I've also played plenty of survivor matches where they'd focus on tunnelling the trapped survivor.

I'm not saying totally ignored RBT Survivors, but it's also more the psychological aspect. As a Pig, you are a TORTURE Killer. If a Survivor sees that Dead Hard or Balanced Landing is no longer viable if they stumble across you is pretty scary.

As for NEW players being confused by the boxes, that sounds like a them problem, and other survivors should just do gens around them. If they choose to tunnel a trapped Survivor, then they are actively wasting their power. They will be punished as they level up, then they will adapt and become good Pigs or swap to another killer.

And I was in a similar boat with my Killer time, but I ran out of my Dash add-ons, and I wanted to try other killers. I only played again recently with Mangled and Reduced missed dash add-ons, and it felt pretty good. They didn't heal since they wanted to remove the trap, so when they did get it off, they were one-hit. Especially nice when you run A Nurse's Calling. But then again, I've always played Gen-Protector builds.

Don't do that to your teammates, it's a terrible strat.. Don't be the player who brings the killer to the others and stalls gen progress. I absolutely adore this person when I play killer.

Bond's best use is to achieve the opposite - you know where your teammates are working on gens, so you take the killer as far away from there as possible

Normally I use it for that, but when I'm on my last hook, and I REALLY need 5 seconds to myself, then I might try to palm off the killer.

Generally speaking Spine Chill and Bond basically tell me if it's worth staying on the generator, because I can see if an ally is in a chase, or if the Killer is coming straight at me. Sprint Burst helps me end a chase before it begins, or gives me enough of an advantage to stall, and Self Care for if I get stranded alone.

  • @CakeDuty said:

As a Pig main I'd love to see some changes to her. I think she's in a good spot right now, her traps are just too RNG based, but they can really slow down the game, and her dash can be used at most pallet loops. However, there are some things I'd like to see changed.

    1. Her addons need an overhaul, most of them are too RNG based and doesn't affect her power at all (more skillchecks and bigger penalty for missing them), others just encourage her to tunnel hooked survivors (exhaustion and mangled). Also why use an addon to spawn one extra box, when they can get the trap off on the first box anyway? I'd like to see more addons related to her dash or some impactful box addon (like the slower search or 1 extra trap ones).
    2. Her crouch speed should be a bit faster, right now crouch walking to gens is just too slow and costs too much time. A 95-97% would be nice. Unlike GF, Pig can't just exit being crouched/attack without a slowdown, so she doesn't deserve the huge speed reduction that he does.
    3. Make her camera slightly taller when crouched, it's just too low and makes it hard to see.
    4. Would be nice if first box searched was always guaranteed to not have a key, it sucks when you give someone a helmet and they get it off first try. I don't believe that traps should kill, but they should be used as a way to slow down the game, right now it's just too RNG based. I actually feel really bad when people die to the helmet.
    5. I'd remove Pigs ability to see jigsaw boxes, as this ability only encourages Pig players to check the boxes and tunnel the trapped survivors. I know a lot of people are gonna disagree with me, but a lot of Pig players tend to tunnel the trapped survivor cause it's a guaranteed kill if you don't give them time to do boxes. Rather it'd encourages them to check generators and find other survivors they can trap.
    6. Here's another controversial one, I'd slow down EGC when a survivor has a trap on their head. It'd encourage their teammates (altruistic ones, at least) to stay in the trial, to help them get the helmet off.
    7. Crazy idea: Trap activates normally when a gen pops, but also activates after a survivor searches their first box. When they search a box before the helmet is activated they are guaranteed to not find a key, but they activate their trap prematurely. That way they automatically put a bit of pressure on themselves, but also remove some by only having 3 boxes remaining. This is a win for Pig by having survivors have to search through at least 2 boxes and a win for survivors cause they have less of a risk to dying to the traps.

People say they want Rules Set 4 to be basekit, I wanted that too at some point too once. Though I realised, survivors being able to see the boxes makes them stop doing generators to get the helmet off as fast as possible, if you removed their ability to see Jigsaw boxes, it'd only encourage them to stay on gens until a gen pops.

I never did endgame Piggy myself, and hated going against it as survivor, so I really didn't mind those nerfs to her.

I'm sorry, but ######### is with your 5th point? GOOD Pig players actively avoid people going to the boxes. Unless you're one of 2 people left. The only time that I go after people in boxes, is if I've just randomly stumbled across them. If you're going to recommend such a huge and unnecessary nerf, then you need to balance it by adding some sort of absurd buff.

And boxes not killing? Have you seen a SAW movie? I'm surprised that Survivors don't have to do something like sacrifice an arm to get the helmet off. It's actually hard enough to get an RBT kill, and the only times I have are against Survivors who don't know how the Pig's power works.

Not trying to be a hate-reply, but seriously, half of your changes here do seem like nerfs. Some add-ons, such as the Skill Check add-ons need changing, considering that they only really affect lower ranked Survivors, but Mangled and Exhausted RTBs is actually really effective.

  • She has to find me first. And I don't have Iron Will as a teachable yet. Bond is fantastic for palming off a killer, though.

Maybe one day, if we get another Yamaoka-chapter, you can play with Rin's dad as survivor. It probably will not get worse than that. 😅

If they do add him, then I'm going to hardcore tunnel those who play him whenever I play Spirit.

  • Rule Set No. 2 is more of a take it or leave it scenario for me. I'll be happy if it's added, but don't care either way.

I'd like to see the roar happen AS the dash is being launched, or quietened slightly. Any long standing Reaper main from Overwatch will understand.

Maybe make Dash charge faster. It's not an instant down like Hillbilly or Leatherface, so maybe charge it in half the time.

SOME of her add-ons need changes. Haemorrhage on the RBT is actually bad. Mangled and Exhausted, though. Not to mention that both Dash add-ons together are fantastic, and my personal preference.

PoV change would be nice, considering that my camera is generally below tall grass or a goddamn window.

Maybe have an add-on or something to make skill-checks go the other way, like we know a certain someone will be probably getting soon.

As for your concerns about NoED Piggy, @Galklife, NoED already gives free kills to just about every killer, the hatch doesn't activate the RBT, and the devs can always change it so that an active RBT slows the timer. If you've been caught out with helmets left, then you've either been saving them, or you've been gen-rushed.
