It's not that a katana could penetrate armour, it's more that it was designed to naturally slice through the gaps within the segmented plates of traditional Japanese armours. Especially since it was more long plates tied together, rather than a traditional European plate-mail/chainmail.
That being said, a kanabo would be absolutely brutal anyway. If someone could wield it effectively, that is. Any sort of plate would be severely dented, possibly restricting movement or even possibly breathing if hit with enough force. With the Oni's size, then I have ZERO doubts that he'd be able to swing it with enough force.
-
Hex: Ruin is actually really nice for slow killers, like Pig or Trapper. It almost feels like I need that slowdown effect for certain killers.
-
I think that the biggest problem for Clown is that people now know how to face him, or people used him to rank up, then switched, now there's only newer people playing him.
So, now either everybody knows how to beat him, people can't play him, or any combination of the two.
Probably could use a little bit of love.
-
TBH though, I'd actually rather slug someone and let them get healed if they just got off a hook. And, not just instantly, I mean a good 10 seconds after the unhook.
Some might call it farming, but I see it more as an anti-tunnel thing.
I actually find it WAY more fun to toy with survivors, rather than rush killing them. Survivors have also thanked me and said it was an extremely fun game too. Maybe more killers should adopt this approach.

That sums up my experience tonight lol.
People kept on complaining about Nurse, but here I am like "Nah, fam. Hillbilly on console is the problem." after getting body-blocked/rubbed before sawed for the 100th time this rank reset before coming to the forums and saying "Maybe we DON'T need easy instant downs on base kits........"
I've said that slugging, tunnelling and camping are an issue but people are like "JuSt PlAy ThE gAmE yOuR wAy!" That attitude is gonna kill this community.
-
I've had quite the opposite. So many insta-saw, tunnelling, camping, NoED abusing and Mori reliant killers as of late.
If camping and tunnelling aren't bannable, then farming shouldn't be either.
-
Not all of us are Rank 1 though.
And some of these challenges are pot luck. "Loot 3 chests with Plunderer's Instinct in a single game" is REALLY fun when 3 people are trying to do it.
Not to mention "2 NoED sacrifices in one Endgame", so I've gotta throw the game and then use a perk that I absolutely despise?
"5 Traps on a single game". Doable, but extremely unlikely.
"Complete 15 generators" So with my potato teammates, this'll maybe take 10-20 games.
-
No you can't.

And first off, sure! Let's make Pig into Freddy 2.0! That's not going to infuriate me AT ALL!
But to answer the serious part here, probably because Dash is technically a part of her power. Same as a Hillbilly saw, but actually fair.

At that point it's meaningless semantics. Either way staying to down them all was the right move and anyone flaming them for it is just salty.
There's a reason that I wait to see what happens, generally healing during that time. It's so stuff like this doesn't actually happen to me.

Thanks! I think its really good, emphasizes the ambush dash and really works with stealth- its best on LOS blocking maps like Lerys, The Game and Hawkins.
Huh. I normally just used Video Tape/John's Medical File/Combat Straps with Nurse's, BBq, Ruin and Surveillance. Worked pretty well on just about every map. First hit with dash, then relentlessly chase them until down.
No wallhacks though, so you'd need a headset with volume to what some people could describe as uncomfortable.

@Peanits said:
Is it camping? Yes. Is that a bad thing? No.
You didn't get a chance to leave a hook yet and they're already running in. You have no reason to leave, you did nothing wrong. Not camping in that scenario would be a bad move.
I would have actually said no it isn't camping because they ran directly at you. Most of what people classify as "camping" is just waiting for a survivor to attempt the unhook without provocation. These survivors actively put themselves in the line of fire very early in the unhook stage.
Also, @HealsBadMan, nice to see some Pig love going around. I'll have to try that add-on build!

True, but I feel it also sucks it that some people are bad at them get it all set up. Pull it off successfully just to have the status icon show up, but no reward for the hard work.
On console I have a hard time setting Ambushes up due to the sensitivity, but on PC it's fine. Or maybe I'm just a potato.
Potato. I'm a console player too.
I actually exclusively ran a mix of Video Tape, John's Medical File and Combat Straps. The dash charges much quicker and is way more usable.
-
People already complain heavily about NoED. They just made the issue worse.
-
Favourites to run? Spine Chill and Surveillance.
I personally see Surveillance as an extremely underrated perks, since you only need one person to be working on a generator, unlike Discordance. Less people know about it because nobody uses it. Seriously, stealth killers, try it out some time.
Moat hated? D-Strike and NoED. D-Strike because of it's blatant missuse by survivors these days and NoED because it just feels cheap. It's an Exposed with zero warning, and on some killers like Myers or Hillbilly is just total BS. You already have enough instant down, WHY DO YOU NEED MORE?
-

For Pig all I want is
- Ambush Hits apply exposed
- Crouch Speed on Par with Ghostface
- Roar for the dash towards the end of the charge bar or removed and added to a successful ambush attack.
I agree with the last two, but not Exposed. Dash attacks are fairly easy to pull off with one of the add-ons, so making it a 1-shot would be kinda broken.
-
Heaps of killers are basically admitting to tunnelling and camping.
They also bring Moris, so one hook is all that's needed for a kill. Not 3.
Even perks like Devour Hope contribute to this.
We also don't know what perks they're running.
We don't know add-on combinations. An Insta-saw Billy is gonna inflate his kill-rate significantly since he only has to do half the work.
-
I said maybe since it was a major issue. And I did notice it quite a bit since playing more of her. Survivors can only loop these days, it seems, and that's a big part of what the Spirit can deny through mind games.
Prayer Beads were quite the cause of controversy and the recent change is very decent.
She's a strong killer for sure, with a lot of her potential being in the mind-games aspect. Collision did take part of that away though, with how easy it was to bump into someone and get a free hit.

That's why it takes so long to cloak/decloak, as well as no speed boost while cloaked. If that isn't enough, the Predator could be slowed to 100% while cloaking or decloaking?
Yes, the Predator has to be in stealth to use the plasma cannon. There wouldn't be a marker either, but there is no arc to it, since it travels in a straight line. It would also move slower than a hatchet, and not gain speed the more it is charged.
Easy Prey's status effects have no timer, but are removed when the corresponding token is. If that's too much, it could be a hex perk (but the tokens never go away until the totem does), or all afflictions removed with 1 token. A way to balance it could be to make so each token only effects the Survivor who was hooked to gain the token.
I don't really mention moris, just like how I dont talk about most add-ons or backstory. That would be a cool mori, though!
Thank you for the response, though some suggested changes would also be nice, for future reference.
Wraith is actually faster when he is cloaked, rather than slowed. I read it as he attacks then comes out of Invis when I first read it.
Having an effect last a whole 100 seconds is pretty brutal, especially if it's something like Broken or Exhausted. Maybe if it was limited to Blindness/Haemorrhage/Mangled/Oblivious. Pretty much just the minor effects, or more to the point, leave out Exposed, Broken and Hindered. Don't make it a Hex perk, since it only affects them once.
-
Power seems like just a better Wraith. Also, how does the game determine the difference between cloak and plasma bolt? Do you have to be in stealth to activate the plasma cannon? Will there be the .'. guidelines to show where the shot will land, making him better than Huntress?
I do like Jungle Killer. Could be good for those killers who don't have a mobility power. Master of Stealth seems very hard to pull off consistently, unless they're in a chase. This could make it severely underpowered or overpowered.
Easy Prey could be pretty hard to work around, but I can see a point to it. Question is though, if I'm the unlucky last one hooked, and I get Exhausted, Hindered, Blindness and Broken, am I then permanently afflicted with these? Or do they go away when your tokens do? Are they on a set timer like the Broken status from Deliverance?
And his mori. Are we doing the skull/spine rip with a triumphant roar? I mean, I'd LOVE to see that, but not sure if the devs could animate that.
-
I tried doing this as a serious post already. It didn't go well.
@TheRockstarKnight said:
How about we buff Legion, Doctor, and Pig instead?
And that would be nice. I play all 3 of them, but less of Legion. Despite my name though, I've actually gone away from Pig for now since I'm out of dash add-ons.
There are 2 small, yet surprisingly big changes I want to see for Pig overall: Make the RTB work in the endgame again and increase her dash charge time.
-
I originally tried to play killer in KYF, back when KYF was a thing. Now it's just called "Custom Game" and doesn't work for me on Xbox.
It was SUPER hard and I couldn't do anything. So I made sure that I had certain perks to help me out at the lower ranks and have just a bit easier time learning. At rank reset, I was a Rank 9 killer, with full level loadout and knowledge on how to play, put back to rank 15.
That and if someone's not played on a mode for a few resets, they get put lower and lower until they go back to Rank 20. The game feeling that since it's been so long since they played, that they're on par with new players. It may have a cap, probably at 17, but I'm unsure.
-
Soooooo, you wanna encourage slugging even further?
People who don't exclusively play killer despise slugging since it's boring for the person being slugged, and can be quite hard for people to play around.
His perk would just encourage it as a killer would the easily be able to find the survivor again.

I had to force myself to stop being a stealth survivor. I used to always run Urban Evasion and play stealthy. And then I realized that I'm never going to be able to get good at running the killer if I continue to play stealthy. It was definitely a struggle at first, and I'm still not a great survivor player, but I get so many more bloodpoints than I did before. I can consistently get 4 stacks of WGLF each game, and I definitely feel confident looping the killer at certain structures now.
It's annoying and boring to play with and against Iron Will, Urban Evading Blendettes. I've noticed high rank players don't even make an attempt to be stealthy and thats why Ruin is seen as necessary on some killers. You will get gen rushed right in front of your face when nobody attempts to hide. One issue I hate as survivor is when an immersed person saved you from hook, they hide when the killer comes back and i'm left there loud as ######### because im injured so I just get back into the chase. The healthy person who saved you should take the aggro from the killer instead of just leaving you to get hooked again.
I actually do run Whispers on every killer lol. I hate playing without it. And yes, mori EVERY Blendette. Not every Claudette, though. Throw any shirt on Claudette that isn't blendy, and you're good to go in my book.
I say "Blendette" but I'm really not. Well, not the immersive kind. I just use her defaults because the only cosmetic I've purchased for anyone is the black leather Pig outfit because bright red is super obvious.
-
For me, it's the sheer lack of warning that NoED brings and makes it feel cheap.
Do I run it? No. Should I? Possibly on Pig.
So many other "Exposure" perks and abilities give you a warning EXCEPT for NoED and Devour Hope. Until you get hit. And THAT is the problem that I have with those perks.
And don't give me the "ThEy'Re OnLy HeX pErKs" line because Haunted Ground is too.
There have also been games where I've found zero totems throughout the game, so hunting totems isn't always an option either.
-
.......Or why not just make it Ruthless? Make the achievements more accessable like the Survivor ones.
That's assuming it goes Displeased, Brutal, Ruthless, Merciless.

How do you propose "we as a community look internally?" There is no internal governing player body or unified community, nor mechanism for such. If the devs allow people to toxic, there will always be ones who take advantage of it. This is the devs problem to fix.
We all stop camping, slugging, tunnelling, mass body blocking, flashlighting at pallets and teabagging at exit games.
For a start.
-
It's been said that he is the FIRST of the Yamako family, and that he planted the tree within the garden of the new map.
I believe. I'm pretty sure that's how the lore went. I don't have access to the PTB to check.
-
As someone who is somewhat commonly the last person alive without getting hooked (I'd say roughly 10-15% of my games, which is WAY more common than it should be), this idea is pretty unfun. I don't even get a chance to yeet myself off the hook if I'm the last one.
The only real advantage that I see this is just speeding up the process 99/100 games. And while admittedly, this could be helpful, I don't see it feeling rewarding.
IF I had already been hooked once, then sure. Mori me at the endgame. As long as I'm on 2nd/final hook, and all 3 other players are already dead, it'll speed things up for me.
Could we at least add the condition that all the other survivors have to be dead before I go down? Y'know, to avoid the obvious slug for the 4k.

And not every game end with toxic survivors bullying the killer. There needs to be a middle ground. Unfortunately, it does not appear the devs are doing anything about it.
And yes. The main thing is though with those toxic Survivor groups is that we as a community need to look internally and start working on that issue. Not relying on the devs to come up with a solution for us.
-
Probably Spirit for best in terms of stats. Pig with Video Tape and John's Medical File would be second. Super sneaky dashes with plenty of stall.
As for fun? Doctor. There's something oddly cathartic and enjoyable about making everybody on the map SCREAM. I don't know why.
-
Opening 10 minutes would be early life/mum death, then into scene/music/title sequence, then change focus to a squad of F
German soldiers sent to secure the area, but one of their squad is found dead with a hatchet in him. Follow a squad as their platoon is sent i to the forest and dissapear one by one.
Secondaries go to Doctor and Trapper. Doctor would have to be closer to a SAW movie, but might be considered a borderline snuff film if not handled correctly. Haven't read all the Trapper files in Archives, but if they go the way the first 3 have, it'd be a great decent into madness story.
-
Survivor meme build. Only used in SWF before matchmaking changes.
No Mither, Resilience, This is Not Happening, Dead Hard.
Basically a speedrun of the game.

I've made it to Red Ranks before and I don't even know how. Now even though I do get to red ranks, I still play casually and don't want people to get all mad because of how I play but it's going to happen because most red ranks don't understand what a "casual game" means.
However, due to the mindset of most red ranks I do not wish to be in the rank color I don't deserve to be in. A lot of people try to depip because of how much more toxic and awful the game gets in red ranks. Etc.
I feel just either rid of the ranking system or fix the system, make it harder, and send everyone back to rank 20 and work their way up again. That way people like me can hopefully not go past green ranks and people who are actually good can be in purple/red ranks without potato players. Or... make more ranks as well.
Ya know, just something to help this issue would be nice...
And I'd love to see an "Unranked" mode that people can bring less competitive builds to practice or have fun. The catch'd be that less BP would be offered.
-
I see something like easier rank-ups for DC's as extremely open to abuse.
What would be better is lowering the requirements for a safety-pip.
I would also the same thing for those that use a "Kill" ability, but hey, I'm just a complaining survivor then, hey?

Clown is pretty bad but I wouldn’t call him overrated. Most people know he is terrible.
Most people just can't play him properly from my experience. He can stop chases really easily with his gas and the Hindered status effect, but people don't know how to apply it properly. Or people have learnt how to deal with him.
Just look at Freddy 2.0 and his Blood Snares. He's able to stop a lot of chases and loops because of his ability, which applies the same penalty as the Clown's bottles, but in a smaller area.
-
@AChaoticKiller said:

that doesn't mean shes overrated that just means no one you have faced has been playing hag properly.
A few have, but I see so many people put her as an A-Tier killer, yet she has very little potential in a chase, with limited use of her power to provide map pressure. If she's in a chase and somebody triggers her traps, then her power is wasted. If she disengages from the chase to go for the trap, then she is possibly ditching a chase with an injured survivor.
Trapper on the other hand completely shuts down chases with his traps, as the survivor is immobile and moves physically faster at the bearable cost of having a larger terror radius, that higher ranks can learn to ignore, especially those running Spine Chill.
While the Hag is also one of the best "Defensive" killers in the game, her power is also circumvented by an item, and to a lesser degree, the perk Urban Evasion.
Sure, the Hag could be extremely strong, and even able to compete with killers like Nurse or Spirit within a 3-Gen situation, a competent group of survivors will be able to spread out their generators so that they can't be locked in.
That and the whole people just proxy-camp thing.
-
I wouldn't call myself immersed, but I'm no runner. Stealth seems like just a viable option then, so I learned how to hide as killers walk past/around and get fed up to leave. No Urban and no corners.
I just wait for you to leave, then go back to a generator. Or possibly healing someone.

Slugging isn't holding the game hostage since the last survivor can just walk up too the downed one and heal them. It isn't the killers fault for the living survivor too hide till their friend is dead.
And if slugging is unhealthy, then so are Keys since they have no real counterplay besides Franklins and they are also unfun. And survivors are going too bring keys no matter what since they are super strong. It's rare too find a game without at least one key.
Everyone keeps saying that keys are strong, but I never see anyone use them on Xbox. That may be because I'm only in purple ranks, but still.

Okay. But this brings up a bigger question: Why aren't you running it if you are getting slugged so often? If slugging is so rampant in your games why are you not running a perk to deal with it? Or what about what's it, that Ash Williams perk that increases your wiggle bar as you recover?
Well, I don't have Bill's teachables unlocked, I don't get slugged and Flip-Flop.
Flip-Flop is also capped at 50% of wiggle.

What does you being bullied in school have anything to do with this thread other than look for sympathy?
I'll tell you this, I usually will go out if my way to kill Claudettes because of the fact that they hide all game and most are afraid to actually play the game other than M1 generators.
If you are dying as much as you say maybe you aren't that good of a survivor as you thought.
I agree that tunneling and camping are boring, no one likes that. However don't act like survivors have it hard while SWF exists.
I was just explaining why I stand up for myself so much.
I don't hide all game, I do generators and unhooks.
I don't die THAT much, I'm just sick of bad games ending in a slug and a hunt.
And most of the games that end in this scenario, I'm solo-queueing.

Mhmm, say what you like but the way you come off is very whiny and entitled. I doubt you are a killer main, you come off very survivor sounding, which is fine. However everything you are crying about is ridiculous. Your post comes off as a rant after getting trashed in a game by a killer that left you slugged to keep the other survivor from getting hatch and that irked you.
You also talk about potato teammates, you realize every survivor thinks that about each other, and I bet they think that about you as well.
So, defending myself and my position is whiny and entitled? Got it. I'll just go back to being a bully victim. Before you even ask, I was bullied in primary school all the way because kids are cruel, stupid and I had a mole on my face that was obvious, so I was apparently diseased. I eventually learnt to stand up for myself, but it seems that I do so very strongly and passionately.
And I fluctuate between periods of survivor and killer. At the moment, especially with Archives, I'm back to Survivor. It's that I play my killers seemingly as intended, then I get insta-sawed, camped, tunnelled, and my teammates get slugged after I have a wicked stealth game, that I tend to get annoyed with the Killer community at large.
As for the game, it was the other guy who got slugged. Again. It's always the other guy on the floor. It's not the first time, but I'm still sick of it happening.
-
@MeatBycicle said:
What is sounds like to me is that you are very crappy survivor OP and probably main Claudette like your name implies and expect to just urban evasion around the entire map without interacting with the killer the entire game.
I will always slug for the last kill because more than likely they are in SWF anyways just waiting for hatch. You mentioned if killers stopped playing with "cheap tactics and earn their kills", we did, its not our fault Behavior wanted to add in a free escape for survivors who got destroyed.
Also you legit must be in brown - green ranks with your mentality.
I'm purple and my build is Self Care, Spine Chill, Sprint Burst and Bond. Also, I didn't ever say that ALL killers use it. It's bit of a generalisation yes, but they still occur.
And crappy survivor? I'm that one Claudette who actually does stuff. I only keep playing Claudette because I don't have those perks on anyone else, not to mention Claudette's natural stealth ability. I can't run good chase killers, but I can hold my own.
