A theory as to why most kill rates are over 50%
Because maybe perhaps there are just a minor margin more of survivor players that get into matches more frequently than killers to?
Additionally if a killer is popular their kill rate is going to be artificially inflated due to the vast amount of people playing said killer, this could be why the kill ratio for demigordon is so low despite on release being said to be the most balanced killer in the game
On the other hand hags kill ratio could be so high (despite being unpopular in the red ranks) because she's Played prodominanty by those who know how to use her, but that number.... If you look at the red rank stats. But in all honesty I'd need seven degrees in statistics and philosophy to explain why her stats vary so much in the diffrent graphs
This is why peanits is consntsly having to say not to take these statistics to heart, because there are many variables that come into the kill ratio, it's a similar story with map statistics as the killer most used on that map, layout of the generators /map offerings /totem placements etc

Killrate says nothing about Winrate you can facecamp a survivor (and get tons of minus points and lose gens quickly) and get another first hook in endgame with noed (most survivor wont go for rescue when noed is active) = 2 Kills so you still lost the game and depiped but for this weird Killrate Statistic you performed well.
The second you see that Nurse is the weakest Killer you should doubt how useful the Statistic is :)
No matter what theory, the fact that the statistics we got was a messy combination of all platforms renders a lot of its value pointless. Apart from the extremes, I guess. Clown's performing bad on all platforms.
If a killer's kill rate is inflated due to a vast amount of people playing that killer, that means even bad killers are doing good with them. That means the data isn't artificially inflated.
You can't have it both ways, if Hag is only played by people who primarily know how to use her, then that would be why her kill rate is so high, yes. But if a killer is being played predominantly by everyone regardless of how skilled they are with them, and still has a very high kill rate, then that means it doesn't matter how good that person is with the killer, they'll still do well regardless.
Yeah, those statistics shouldn't be the only thing you should look at(as Peanits said, Forever Freddy might be the only issue for Freddy, not just Freddy in general), but it's safe to say if most people are playing a killer, and that killer is still doing above average, there's something there.
Heaps of killers are basically admitting to tunnelling and camping.
They also bring Moris, so one hook is all that's needed for a kill. Not 3.
Even perks like Devour Hope contribute to this.
We also don't know what perks they're running.
We don't know add-on combinations. An Insta-saw Billy is gonna inflate his kill-rate significantly since he only has to do half the work.
Also think about every disconnect that happens.
