View him for the side. You don’t have to be obese to be overweight.

He's got a beer gut so his core is obviously out of shape, but I mean cmon now, he's a middle aged biker dude with a strong ass upper body. Dad bod sure, but I don't think the OP is looking for Dad bods else he'd be content with David.

I think they'll do it well, but bad-faith actors will try to make it seem like they didn't.

I would support more of what people were talking about if I could understand half of ######### was being said. BG's TG's LG's BT's BG's what....the hell am I even looking at? You used more acronyms than a military field manual. Shouldn't be that complicated, communication shouldn't need a puzzle for it to be relatable to people.

That being said, as long as they aren't making gay people into a spectacle and stereotype I don't see the problem.

Yes but you failed to notice that we already have an overweight survivor in fact we have 3 but as many have said one wears a girdle that one being ash the later being Jeff and Jane. We also have the new survivor Élodie who has a bit of a tummy it’s nothing major but it’s there.

What about this man is overweight?

  • There aren't any because survivors spend an eternity running around.

I never understood why this game brings out the worst in some people. I get the game is stressful, but saying all of this over a video game is just so mean and honestly kinda sad. Its probably just a bad day mixed with a bad situation, but there's no excuse for death threats and homophobic slurs. They said worse stuff but I'm not too sure what is or isn't allowed to be posted here so I just posted the tame stuff.

To sum the game up: I hooked someone in the first 15 seconds, I turn around and see someone trying to blend in with the corn thats 8 feet in front of me with the new froggie suit and downed them instantly, I look over at the hook while my chainsaw is finishing revving and the third survivor literally runs besides me to run to the hook, I down her and the last guy just sits on bones and lets her team die. Sure it sucks when games end fast over teammates not playing smart, but that's hardly the killers fault.

Is there anyway to report these guys directly to someone? Or is the in-game report the only way?

I been saying it for years.....survivors are suicidal and the developers cater to it. https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/203066/survivors-are-suicidal-and-bhvr-shouldnt-cater-to-it#latest

Absolutely not, I'm talking about his perks ideas with PWYF and Dying Light with dull totems. Read his first post please.

yeah but what i mentioned gives an advantage to killers after a survivor does a secondary objective. Same with undying since its aura reading when you get close. You don't have to imagine it, its real.

Imagine a secondary objective that can gives more power to killers. LMAO.

You are giving an example with "play with your food". Just imagine, 5 totems => 5 tokens.

"Each time a totem is destroyed, increases 5% your speed." Or the opposite way : decreases 5 of your speed each time a totem is destroyed ? ######### ??

Or another example with Dying light : Each time a survivor is doing the secondary objective, they will have a penalty for doing gens. LMAO.

Can you give CLEAR examples with your idea ?

You mean like the hex that exposes survivors when they cleanse it?

They sold a character (Twins) and either knew that you would be stuck in the floor up to 50 percent of the time, or didn't test it at all. Either way they deserve a ton of flak.

2 Problems, theres a section of rock near a pallet tile that can be walked over with the killer, not sure wth is wrong with it, but a totem spawned in the corner of it and suddenly I could casually walk over the entire pallet stack as a killer. On top of this that snow map is bugged while trying to control the little guy you run into collision and can't move.

I mean its not as if they didn't know about it, there were plenty of threads in the feedback section that went on about him getting stuck in the ground.

More chase time? I thought killers hated infinites, double pallets and lack of dead zones

Also my matchmaking never takes over 2 minutes, when one matchmaking starts getting longer I switch role which goes faster

Also no, not even the current 80 seconds of gen is fun

It isn't fun because all you're doing is pressing M1 and occasionally doing a skill check. Theres no puzzle solving or interesting mechanics to make it fun or engaging. But if you had to do tasks similar to Among Us I don't think it would be an issue anymore. And if you could survive longer as a survivor to actually do those puzzles it would make any extra time spent at least bearable.

  • @Sluzzy said:

You are complaining because people are playing Twins in a manner that is consistent with all other killers. That is NOT an issue with the Twins. Rather an issue with the player. The game can't force someone to play a certain way. You continue to say that because the Twins can't pressure gens players are somehow forced to camp and slug. That is a generalization I do not accept because I see Spirits ALL THE TIME camping, tunneling, and slugging. In fact, I find them to be the biggest sluggers, when in fact they don't need to. Your reasoning is flawed. You can be the most powerful killer, teleport around the map, and they will still slug and play in an unfun manner. I think this is another petty excuse to nerf gens because you can't play the Twins or you saw someone else say "aw, they are weak".

All killers shouldn't be able to win all the time. A killer shouldn't be able to pressure all the gens all the time. A killer shouldn't feel comfortable with winning, which you alluded to. If gens are going too fast, it is not always the game's fault.

Spirit isn't the most powerful killer, she's just one of the fastest. When you're playing a character like spirit you're under the same constraints as if you picked up clown or trapper, the only difference is you get to your objectives and targets faster. You still need to be in 8 places at once, but spirit, nurse, and hillbilly seem better than most other killers because even though they can't literally be in 8 places at once, they can get a hell of a lot closer to that goal than every other killer in this game which says a lot about mobility considering the base speed of spirit is hag levels. Its deeper than what most people understand. And you would understand it more if you played killer as much as survivor.

  • @chieften333 said:

Well said, it seems like the devs had massive oversight issues with this killer.

The twins give a deeper look into how tunneling and the other mentioned things have to be used to create pressure.

Hopefully with the twins exposing how tunneling and slugging is used to counter the current time crunch meta, they'll take a look into it. Then make it fair for both ends of the equation.

But you know, it's BHVR, they'll find a way to screw it up if they do it.

Edit: I would love to be able to say that they'd be able to work with the information this issue is providing. But they have consistently proven that they are unable to do a deep consideration of their mechanics, they say tunneling/camping/slugging is a valid strategy. Yet they also mention how fun something is to go against. But they haven't made the correlation between the two in the four years this game has been active.

they are all valid strategies though, the difference though lies in how they're used and for what purpose they are used. If I have knock out running, of course I'm gonna use it to slug people its a valid strategy. But lets say I'm playing bubba....I hook someone and stand there.....while its a valid strategy its hella BM. But if theres 4 people left and one of them is hooked suddenly its more practical than it is BM....

  • @NekoTorvic said:

TLDR: The Twins are an interesting example of what causes killers to adopt strategies that make survivor experience worse (camping, slugging and tunneling). When a killer is too slow to compete with how fast gens can go if survivors just hold m1, these tactics become way more prevalent.

    ________________________________________________________________________________

So after a day, people are starting to realize that because the Twins are far too slow to keep up with gen speed, the only way to play them effectively is to massively slug and camp, I haven't necessarily seen excessive tunneling.

The reason this is interesting is because it shows a point.

Why do killers slug, camp and tunnel? As much as some survivors like to think that these tactics are adopted exclusively out of malice or a massive lack of skill, I think the issue is more complicated.

Killers do all of this, because it makes the match easier on them, because the normal "patrol, chase, hook" cycle for 12 hooks is completely and utterly unviable with most killers against survivors that do gens. And that's literally all it takes them. If they sit on a thing and hold M1, most killers are going to have a hard time, some of the roster cannot compete at all.

With the survivor objective being the way it currently is, chases become cumbersome, mistakes are not afforded to the killer at all, which then creates a dilemma in the killer's mind. Is chasing this new survivor even worth it, or should I focus on taking this one survivor down and protecting my territory? Should I even try to go to gens when I know I don't have time to patrol, chase and hook, or should I just stay here in my corner defending what I already have? Should I bother trying to give everyone fair chases, or should I just try to keep them all immobilized on the floor so they occupy their teammates time and I can eventually down them all?

When killers are not confident in their potential to play normally, because the character itself doesn't have the tools to let their skill overcome the game pace, or when they know for a fact that they don't have time to play normally, they will inevitably resort to whatever tactics can tip the scales to their favor, which usually makes the experience worse for survivors, because the only thing the killer can do is try to deprive them of gameplay, instead of engaging with them in gameplay. This happens even to the best killer players, or people that are considered generally as very very good.

The Twins is a perfect example of a killer that doesn't have time to play normally. They have decent chase potential with Victor, so all they do is deprive survivors of gameplay by slugging everyone and camping.

The solution to this is not to mega punish camping, tunneling and slugging, as some survivors believe. Doing that will either generate resentment from killers towards survivors, or it will just drive all killers that don't feel they have the tools to deal with game pacing away from the game entirely.

I believe the right solution is to improve game pacing, as well as incentivize going for multiple chases against multiple people, and then we can give survivors the tools to deal with tactics like slugging, camping and tunneling.

There have been a ridiculous number of ideas people have given to resolve the issue of games going to fast, as well as incentivizing multiple chases. This is not the point of this thread. But i believe it's important to recognize the cause of certain less than desirable behaviors so we can then tackle them effectively, instead of just endlessly crying about the most obvious thing in front of us.

Now, of course, some people may think that these kinds of tactics are fine, and that's a fair position to have, but it's undeniable that a sizeable chunk of survivors are very frustrated by them, and it is true that there are killers (myself included) who would rather the game allowed them the time and tools to consistently outplay their opponents over and over again, instead of resorting to tactics that limit gameplay just to have a chance.

Just my 2 cents on the matter... if anyone cares.

Its true though, as a Pig Main most of my kit revolves around constantly moving and tapping people, making new chases and leaving the guy with the helmet to flop around. So ideally I run into situations where I'm not tunneling or camping because her kit is ideal when the pain is spread out. Most of the killers I play are like that where secondary objectives are threatening enough to where I don't have to be "ON" all the time So I tend to do well with killers like pig and plague. The reason I don't touch other killers really is because their playstyle does force you to play in a way that some people consider "BM" (god forbid you ever run non slow down perks). I understand why those killers have to play the way they do because I've played them. But most survivors just.....don't...get it.

And the devs don't get it either. They need to come up with more creative threatening ways for killers who don't have side objectives....to have side objectives. Not every killer is pig.....but every killer should be pig. By game pace alone, every killer should be pig. The main reason killers like spirit and nurse and hillbilly do so well in game pacing is because those killers are faster than the pace of the game without any slow downs. Now before some dummy comes in here to measure the stats with a ruler, understand, that this can't be measured and math'd out. Every game is different, but the trend is what sets the mold. People complain about clown all the time, and yes, he has a tendency to proxy camp, has limited range on his power to be effective in a chase, has a big terror radius etc. His problem isn't his power to engage in a chase and end it. His problem is he can't and doesn't naturally spread his presence around enough to not run into areas where he's tunneled or camped someone without giving up a gen because he can't be in 8 places at once.

Compare that to someone like plague to where, as soon as you're running chases on people your disease is spreading around so even if you're focused on 1 person, your disease is passively making the game just that much harder for other survivors to avoid and then they have to cleanse or get insta downed. Same for pig, you're chasing 1 person, you down and trap them, you can let them go, since again your helmet is passively making the game just a bit harder for them, (in my dream world one of her add ons makes survivors drunk when they wear a helmet similar to the way clowns vials are). Legion is another great killer who does this, constantly spreading out the threat, constantly giving survivors something to do.

What kills other killers is the fact that they can't be engaged with all the other survivors all the time. So when survivors are by themselves not engaged with killer mechanics then of course generators are gonna fly by......because they're essentially just afk pressing M1 and clicking skill checks. Theres no physical threat to them, and theres no psychological threat to them via stealth so....yeah stuffs just gonna fly by causing killers to get desperate and take what they can get even if its at the cost of a survivor being able to play the game.

Do you understand that this game and several games have been delayed and still been complete garbage. You clearly dont understand how business works or production of video games, marketing, etc. For a 4 year old game with a healthy player base you can only complain about what done wrong. Hearthstone, League of legends and several games have tons of bugs, csgo also. Know call CD project red and ask how many staff members they have and how many bhvr has... Lastly comparing dbd to cyberpunk 2077 is quite possibly the dumbest thing to reference to dbd. A vast mostly open player world game such as gta5. Compared to a game that basically created its own genre and are trying to be copied every day. Look where last year and friday the 13th are.

Bad take. Every game you just mentioned has had, and still has phases where they do nothing but bug fix. Especially league where they NEVER release something on their PTB thats broken or questionable onto the live servers if its obviously broken. Same for hearthstone, and F 13 is working on a full on master of the game to be as bugless as possible.

  • @gatsby said:

Cyberpunk 2077 is an extremely anticipated game thats been in development for 7+ years. And they delayed the release very last minute by 21 days to bug fix and optimize it in order for a Day 1 patch to make sure it had a solid launch.

DBD released a completely unfinished, unpolished, broken and bugged Chapter. Which they knew was going to happen because of PTB testing and it went exactly as expected... horribly. If one of the most anticipated games of the year can delay its launch for quality control, DBD should be willing to delay a DLC.

The players would’ve waited for a real product. No one wanted the new DLC to be released the way it was. Having some dignity and self respect is worth way more than getting money ASAP. I hope the Devs learn and are willing to prioritize quality in the future. Honestly, I’d be willing to skip a DLC launch in exchange for existing Killer, Perk and Overall Game Mechanic revamps. Take the time you need to make the game quality please

They aren't the only ones delaying, Path of Exile is delaying an entire season. They say "its cause cyberpunk is coming out and we don't want to overlap with them" But in reality its more like "we have way too many ambitions to add to the next season so theres no reason to rush things"

I don't know. I've always thought that it is harder for 4 survivors to coordinate optimally than for 1 killer to work a plan.

The disorganization of survivors in Solo Q is where the killer gains advantage over the survivors.

Why would you need to coordinate to play survivor.....you only have 1 task, and the killer can only be after 1 person at a time, and the devs have given solo survivors so much free information you don't even need coms to understand whats going on. Theres enough aura reading going around to check for pancreatic cancer, and enough 2nd chance escapes to turn yourself into a cat....

Its an A-symmetrical game, the killer is supposed to have the advantage over survivors. But the devs are the ones who over time keep making it easier and easier for survivors until survivor players at large get complacent...or just downright forget what their objectives are or how to respond in a situation that the devs didn't take into account. Nerfing things in games always produces this after shock. Players get used to the nerf, get complacent, get weaker overall, and eventually demand another nerf, where they then repeat the cycle.

Its like working out with 20 pounds, and you get stronger, then you turn around and start doing the same amount of reps with 15 pounds, and then 10, and then 5, and then a featherweight foam toy <----you just end up making yourself weaker over time. But....survivors love getting worse at the game for some reason /shrug.

Before all this free information existed survivors played smarter, played safer, and made much more impactful plays in a game. They also learned the maps in and out like the back of their hands, knew where generators were without needing a map, knew where items would be without needing a map, knew where hooks would be just from eyeballing their surroundings.....

But new survivors now adays, even within the last 2 years have gotten progressively worse. And it shows because their rank looks boosted.

Yes...but it's all based on you. You have complete control of all of that. Survivors get screwed by their teammates all the time in Solo Q.

Doesn't that speak more about how bad survivors are at the game than have anything to do with the killer?

  • @Chrisko said:

    Killer is easier...

    You don't have to

    1. rely on other players for your success
    2. know every inch of the maps
    3. be able to counter the killer's power and potential perks
    4. be in an area where there are still resources (pallets, windows)
    5. not get face camped or tunnelled or mori'd
    6. not have the gates spawn too close

    Just to name a few...

    1. You are rlying on other players for success.....you're just relying on them to fail and die.
    2. If you don't learn the maps as a killer you're not going to perform as well....this logic applies to both sides.
    3. No....you just have to know how to counter survivor perks
    4. It works the opposite for killers, we prefer areas without tons of pallets windows vaults etc
    5. Right, we as killers have to get in situations that don't promote camping so that we can effectively pressure an entire team and not just 1 person so that we win the entire game not just 1 hook.
    6. No, instead, we have to hope the gates do spawn close.

Everything you're saying right now if you think about it from the other sides perspective you'll find that both halves are the same.

It's just a test, they are not removing anything yet, MMR does have nothing to do with bloodlust, and they don't have any reason for adding a feature without announcing it.

I don't see the point in testing such an obvious theory. The killers who are primarily M1 AKA Pig, Wraith, Myers, Ghostface, Plague(to a large extent) Trapper, Hag, Doc etc <---These killers get nerfed. Meanwhile Any killer that doesn't use bloodlust isn't effected at all ---> All the projectile killers, all the sprinting killers billy, bubba nurse blight etc.

Theres no point in testing something so obvious. Thats like wasting a testing cycle on removing med kits <----you already know whats going to happen. Either way though its not painting the best picture of competency that I'd hope for. Especially considering after several map changes we still have the same infinite loops popping up in particular maps. Such is the problem with RNG maps <----not sure why they even need to be RNG tbh. Imo it'd be more effective to just create 10 different variations of each map and have them tested to the full extent and adjusted. Instead of RNG dumping its random finger into a map and having it turn out bad.

I do play survivor when I have a challenge I think I can do. Its a dread. A slow, pounding dread. But I do quite enjoy flirting with danger via acts of risky altruism, swooping in for the distrction, make one loop, tag the downed guy and split!

As killer its a constant stream of adrenaline.

Alright on a serious note though, I used to have those reactions and excitement. But I enjoyed torturing people more. Forcing them to make decisions between life and death, and rewarding people who chose life. To me its less about the thrill of the chase because I'm going to catch you regardless, and more about what kind of ways I can ruin your day after you're downed and trapped. See thats the beauty in pig. Your hands are always clean. Because you're not the killer, the survivors are the killers. They work against their own interests, and instead of helping each other when the time is right they go all out for themselves. So in games I can be the judge of character, and punish people who fail to look out for anyone but themselves. Thats what its all about. The people who make others suffer die, and the 1 person who becomes the example of justice lives and is baptized by blood.

Anyone else? Just the anticipation of hunting my prey sets off dopamine for me. Playing killer is incredibly cathartic for me. And the fact that more people want to play survivor... more people want to be my prey than want to hunt? Well that just means more for me! More to EAT! I grin at my computer every time I yank someone out of a locker. Every time someone is downed to my power at a critical moment. I am baffled as to how killer is the less popular side to play, but I'm not complaining! It means I don't have to share my food!

To show who and who doesn't rely on bloodlust. And which survivors die to bloodlust. In theory.

    That only applies "in theory"

And its a bad theory, since some killers gain nothing from bloodlust (nurse, huntress, legion, hillbilly, leatherface, spirit, cowboy.) Other M1 killers gain from bloodlust. Its not an adequate element of how skilled the player is for MMR or otherwise especially if some killers just downright ignore its existence.

  • Bloodlust is just a speed boost.....what does that have to do with MMR?

I don’t know because improvement is constant, it’s hard to look back and work out the point where I became at least “good enough” at the game.

I will say that I didn’t understand the game at first. About 3 games in as Trapper I go against nightmare survivors, flashlight blinds every few seconds and loops. I must have been rank 19 or 20 and I would be going against people that knew how to loop and I didn’t get the game at all. I’m chasing them and then run in circles, then when I get close they drop the pallet and stun, if I respect the pallet they get a free loop. (Which indicates these were not people of similar rank I was going against). You break the pallet and they run to the next. I got brutal strength unlocked on Trapper and just brute forced chases.

At some point I started watching streamers which is something I hadn’t done before for games. I learned then about manipulating the red stain, when to break chase instead of getting greedy etc it all started to click much more. To be fair a number of streamers still fall into that trap, committing to too long a chase.

6 months to a year....easily. And thats not playing 24/7 like some of these streamers so like....what 600 hours or so before I could confidently walk into any situation.

I really don’t see a problem with children killers, like they are a thing in the horror genre and we have seen them all across different forms of media without any controversy, so don’t see why it should be a big deal here. I think the devs stated in a stream (don’t remember the exact quote) that there is the door open to children killers, but no kids survivors, (and all survivors are older than 21 years old), which I find more understandable.

The real issue is animation for like taking survivors to the hook, getting hit by pallets and stuff, but that could be solved with some supernatural powers like telekinesis, them transforming or something like that.

I think the main issue is source material. Sure there are "childlike" iconic killers.....namely only really 1, that stick out enough to even be recognizable to a franchise. They could come up with their own midgets or dwarfs or whatever, but I don't think it would have the same punch as some of these licenses because to be quite frank.....the only reason people are scared of my buddy dolls is because they resemble Chucky which without said movie for context is not a horror character at all, and turns into some paragraph about a voodoo doll....

Then you have children of the corn, who are Iconic movie wise and the only one that sticks out for most people, but.....theres dozens of those kids outside of the 1 who's the main antagonist and more in line with the devil.....but what the hell would his normal ass even do? He's literally just a normal ass kid. (since the movie is technically a psy thriller).

Then you have the Exorcist and The Omen.......The Omen "MIGHT" work.....and thats extra emphasis on "MIGHT" work, but lore wise it would require the entity to be more powerful than the devil since both characters are directly tied to the king of demons.....and I'm not 100% sure the power levels match up tbh. And as far as the Exorcist goes.....what would be her signature attacks? Vomit?... we already have plague, on top of this the possessed person in the exorcist movies would be too powerful for a trial.

So yeah I dunno Trick R Treat isn't even a kid or human, Pet Cemetery kid runs around with a scalpel.....wow.....spooky....Firestarter has really cool powers, but her resolution in the movies is to be a good guy, Wicked Little Things might work but what makes those zombie kids powerful is the fact that theres more than 1 of them. They'd have to really reach to pull some of these characters up to the level to compete in DBD.

Even if they wanted to stop people from using voip apps it would be either a waste of time or reputation suicide to even try. The method would either be easy to circumvent or unacceptably intrusive to many gamers.

And on consoles they probably wouldn't even be allowed to prevent people from using party chat in the first place.

If they were thinking even halfway straight, they'd put voice coms in game and just balance the killers up to meet the new every game is an SWF requirements.

just watch children of the corn old one week ago evil little bad word there are a lot horror movies with children.

    The Children

    Wicked Little Things

    The Ring

mikey who remember mikey evil little brat

Thats false, Sadako from the Ring is 19. The American Remakes are non-canon.

I think Chucky would be funny. Also I see there no problem... I mean in dbd, killers can't die and with that, children as killer would not die. Should be ok for a 18+ title imo.

Chucky isn't a child, its a grown ass mans soul thrown into a childrens toy.

I think the only horror villain they would have an issue with adding would be some children of the corn BS, and "Let the Right one In" <---Both of which are franchises nobody cares about tbh...

The only viable Kid'ish character I can think of is Trick R Treats pumpkin alien monster thing called Sam....which isn't even a kid....hell its not even human. Its a demon that was born in a pumpkin patch and runs around on halloween posing as a kid to kill people....

And not even joking....a Sam from Trick R Treat chapter would be pretty stylish!

Bam spine chill and iron will. Now I can be prepared all the time even when there are more useful perks

I don't play fighting games like that. But what I can say is when I get hit no matter how I play even if I made the best play in. The world that says something. I just wish someone could prove they can counter her

There are people who counter her literally every day. If you expect to run her for 5 gens.....thats not gonna happen. But you can easily run her for 2 or 3 if you're really on top of your #########. Either way, watch enough streams, watch enough killers playing spirit, watch enough survivors like Tru3talent running spirit, and get some cam time in and thats all you need. Its not the killers job to make you improve, you gotta take up that mantle. And if you get hit in a fighting game "even though you made the best play" <-----Thats BS dude....cause you didn't make the best play. You gotta learn that about any pvp or competative game, if you lose....YOU didn't make the best play. Learning how to lose is just as important as learning how to win. If you can't go over a replay and call out your own mistakes you'll never improve....ever. Thats just competition in general. Its the same logic behind people who literally carry their teams in games, yes even DBD there are obvious team carries.

And if you ever want to get to that level in DBD or anything else you gotta stop making excuses and pointing the finger at other people and point it inward. So you looped left when you could have looped right, <---YOU made that choice. So you decided to keep working on that gen for 1 more second when you could have ducked behind a bush before you were spotted <----YOU made that choice. You make the choice to drop pallets, you make the choice to vault, etc, at the end of the day You have control of your character and can manipulate that in a way to your advantage. The proof is there that she can be dealt with, but if thats not good enough for people to follow suit and learn those methods, then it all boils down to literally "Not wanting to get better at the game".

Whinging about it isn't gonna improve your play. I can whine all day about DS, I can whine all day about BT like some of these new killers do, but thats not gonna improve me as a killer if I don't adapt to these perks and make better decisions when I'm doin work.

You could say that but this game is not the same because preemptively doing something against a person who can hear you at all times and then just avoid it is way worse. Imagine going against a spammer who is bad at mortal Kombat. So you block until they are open since they arent actually good. And THEN they hack and they can go through your blocks. That's what spirit is if she is good your input doesn't matter

Mentalities like this are why people get beat up by mix up characters in tourneys to begin with.....you played yourself. You know they're spamming, you know they're doing chip damage.....yet you're still using the same low block expecting different results, when you could have jumped in or executed a high when they're unguarded. Again, your inability to mindgame this scenario isn't the fault of the player playing the mix up character or the spirit....ITS YOU! You gotta take accountability. Even if it means playing that character for a bit to get some insight into whats actually going on that way when you play against it you already know all the moves and can counter it. If it means you have to abuse and mind game her teleports to the point where she's always on cooldown then fine. If it means you have to run loops differently because she isn't teleporting at all, then fine. Either way, you're forced to either adjust, or get smoked....

How many times does it take you to get hit by a windup high high low before you realize.....I need to zone....

The "tutorials" I get are tru3tal3nts tutorial and something has to do with guessing. Counterplay that involves guessing isnt healthy.

You mean like this? Funny, I've never seen him not loop a spirit for at least 2 to 3 gens per game....so if he's your tutorial source, why are you still so bad?

Your hatred and generalizations of survivors is gross.

You're a survivor main right? You've admitted multiple times on multiple occasions you don't know how to play against spirit, people give you tutorials in those same threads.....you still make new threads and posts about how you can't play against spirit. The facts don't lie.

Survivor on the other hand....I dunno....theres like....maybe 5 videos? And they're mostly kinda old? I mean you could follow montos survivor builds but he's not telling you how to juke and do all the fancy stuff he's doing so....you're kinda on your own in some aspects.

Still every player plays the same you sont exactly know what they will do or how they will do it. You may versed in common tricks spirits do but that's all.

Killers like spirit don't have a choice but to play 1 way and the same..... She is an M1 killer with a mobility cooldown. Doesn't matter if you're red rank, green, purple or whatever, she is a binary killer. She has the option of Teleporting>M1'ing>and faking. <----How you utilize those 3 things will play out the exact same way every time. Reading her is easy and quickly learned from just playing her. And she's not even that difficult to read. You want unpredictability Pig, trapper, hag, huntress, and wraith ARE WAAAAAY harder to pattern out. Wraith only slightly a bit less than the others. And what I'm referring to is red ranked play, doesn't matter....the run down on her loops is exactly the same every time. "Common Tricks" I mean....say what you want but to me it just sounds like you haven't played her, and are coming to the forums to complain because for whatever reason you can't figure it out. Her playstyle is extremely repetative once you know that gameplay loop you won't have anymore issues....

Mainly it's the early game I have an issue with if I get tier 3 99ed before yall do 3 gens it's over since I'm making sure one of you die before that final gem is popped. Last game today I ended the game at 3 gens with a merciless. It's mainly if they starve me or if they gen rush me is when I get destroyed

I mean it sucks don't get me wrong, for any killer right now that needs a strong early game wind up we're stuck with using corrupt. But I will say this though you're maining Myers you could technically bank off the fact that you see a team rushing and drop in a NoED, the haste+the second wind on exposed....if they don't all book it out of the gates you can cause some serious damage. Or hell maybe even change it up a bit and bring knock out for quick slugs assuming they aren't in an SWF. Pop Goes the weasel is always good for mid game. Its tricky. I don't play Myers atm for some of these very reasons, but if you can get a decent snowball rolling by mid game and can consistently lock ######### down at 2 gens, thats the sweet spot....if we only had 5 perk slots.....

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1591883#Comment_1591883

Wait from all your comments you are from the spirits pov not a survivors. Maybe play against a good spirit and come to a conclusion.

I do both, but spirit is my second main killer, and I laugh every time survivors fall for my tricks because I bank off the chance that the survivor is stupid. And at least 7 times out of 10, they are. When I'm playing survivor against spirit I already know all my counters and tricks so I run through that exact same process I listed in my post. I have an easier time against spirit as a survivor because she's one of my main killers than I do against a trapper or hillbilly or any other killer for that matter tbh. Same with pig, I have no issues with pig players because I main pig, I already know whats going to happen and how they're going to play from start to finish.

  • @ToxicMyers said:

Without corrupt I'm starting to think there isn't a way for me to slow down the gen rush

It really does depend on your killer, Assuming you're myers corrupt is about your only real option to stop gap those first few gens from going off while you build your power. Thrilling Tremors is a slept on perk in combination with Ruin. And it'll give you free information on who's working on a gen while you're hooking your first few people. If you don't want to crutch Corrupt you can swap it out for tremors+ruin its not as strong as tremors in the front half of the game but usually by mid game its still pretty powerful. And Don't sleep on thanatophobia plus dying light.

If slowing the game down is a priority any combination of those 4 perks is enough give you some gains. But as Michael you got it pretty rough at the start of the game not gonna lie.....

  • @TreSen said:

Now do it with literally any other killer. (:

Why though? If survivors continually ignore how to react to and counter spirit....why not profit off of stupidity?

  • @Carlosylu said:

Yesterday, 4 red rank survivors with a key... Thank god I was using Spirit.

I mean, only one of those keys is gonna work, why bring all of them in? They were a SWF who didn't even repair more than 1 gen cause I owned them... I have to be honest, I got mad about the 4 keys in lobby, I took it as a "mocking the killer" thingie... Was I wrong? I played as Harsh as I could cause I was mad at them for the 4 keys... No mori, no pink or OP addons, just a killer I dominate with...

    4k

They invited me to the party post game (Xbox) and it was actually a great experience, they said I was amazing with Spirit, they said GG and one guy literally said "Sorry about the 4 keys bro, we got the message" LOL

I took pics of the 4 of them dying as a trophy with my phone.

You didn't even need to get sweaty....1 franklins and GG. Especially now since it literally deletes the item if they don't pick it up. And those things aren't easy to find after you drop them.

(This is a half rant and half "Fix the damn matchmaking" post.)

I play like a rank 10 but somehow got up to rank 1 (Must be the busted matchmaking. No, 100% the busted matchmaking) So last 2 matches I got put up against actual red ranks. first one was fine, 2k with almost a third, they made plenty of mistakes (probably a little boosted as well, hard to tell). But I nearly had an aneurysm from all the bull ######### in the second game.

Loop this, loop that, loop something I didn't even know was ######### loopable, make zero mistakes, rub it in that the survivors are better (No ######### Sherlock) then proceed to call me toxic for dc'ing. Like how entitled are you to bully a killer that is the wrong rank, then when said killer has had enough you call THEM toxic.

And to top it off after me messaging back about the game boosting me with it's garbage matchmaking, you tell me "You have a lot to learn." Nooooo, I had no idea. Pfft, tell me I have a lot to learn, that match was literally like putting a high school basketball player against a team of the best nba players in history, you have no room to tell me that I have a lot to learn when I had no room TO LEARN.

All you can do is roll with those matchups tbh till BHVR does something with the match making. Look at it this way, at least now you know what to expect from red rank survivors for next time.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1591786#Comment_1591786

Ok so now you are at a time even with windows and you are injured a spirit can pi point your location. Windows though yes they help you more than any other obstacle. Anyways back to the numbers I suppose they are good to have but once that distance Is closed and you are now near her using the power becomes even more deadly.

Now that that 10m becomes 2 there isnt much room for you to "put her into position to make mistakes" it now becomes a guessing game. Guess if shes phasing, guess which direction, etc.

Dude....by the time she closes that distance she has to be on cooldown again you can just loop her normally after she closes the distance, and as soon as she starts phasing repeat the same process......Fact is, you can loop her longer than huntress, and hag, if you know what you're doing (From personal experience as spirit going against survivors who know exactly what they're doing, and yes, it is a nightmare). Instead of trying to play against her as if she's some basic trapper, you do the following,

Run toward pallet or loop>Did she freeze? Yes? Abandon the pallet and head toward the next jungle gym or window vault>She didn't freeze?>Loop pallet as normal>She's closing the gap and has now phased to your jungle gym?> Loop as normally for 15 seconds she's on cooldown, she's effectively a basic M1 killer>Its been 15 seconds Did she freeze? Yes? Abandon the loop and head toward the next one ^ rinse repeat indefinitely.

Stridor does not matter, I don't need it, most killers don't need it, unless you're taking iron will, it has no effect...I can hear you.....no matter what perks I'm bringing unless you have iron will... <--- Thats it. You're playing against another human being likely headphone users and some of them speaker users, survivors without iron will make enough noise to the point where Stridor is a non factor. The only times stridor has made a difference in my playstyle as any killer including Spirit is finding non injured survivors hiding in bushes and I can hear them breathing.

  • @azame said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1591724#Comment_1591724

A good stridor spirit is near unbeatable. I didnt watch the game so I dont know much details he was pretty upset because you guys are good at holding rb. He did pick her up about 2 weeks before that game as easy as the blueberry is she has a skill cap not a very big one though.

Not saying hes a bad spirit but he also isnt the best. My friend was out of town and our killer main isnt that good with spirit. Then the rest of us dont like her I can play spirit but I dont play her often so I'd have to put more time into her. I'm not making any ######### up I'm telling you the stuff ik and how I felel.about the killer.

Yeah hiding is technically valid counterplay but we are talking about chase counterplay. I've been watching dowsey play spirit and you cant tell me there is a way for survivors to counter that.

So which is it thats overpowered? Good spirit players or "The best" spirit players? Cause by your logic if we measured only using the best players, the best pig player in this game would make any idea to a buff to her kit look like an insane power grab of greed.

Everything you've mentioned about spirit and not being able to play a loop the same way as other killers comes from the idea of YOU CAMPING PALLETS! Literally every post is a low key variant of "WHY CAN'T I CAMP THIS PALLET"

You can't camp a pallet vs huntress....you can't camp a pallet vs Legion....you can't camp a pallet vs Nurse....what makes you think Spirit is any different? Hit the next jungle gym and move on....DON'T RUN BACK TO THE WINDOW PLAIN AS DAY WHEN SHE'S STARING RIGHT AT YOU. Don't try to low crawl away completely removing any time you have to get away if she is phasing. Phasing has a charge up time <---

Hit the next window vault....and move.....on.

Stop camping pallets used to be a motto that most old school survivors lived by, and could execute some of the deadliest jukes ever seen in this game, and thats even been the case since spirits release. The fact that this new wave of survivors doesn't understand that isn't because spirit changed, its because survivors literally got worse. (Which is a strange factor that I would have never thought I'd ever see).

1 … 16 17 18 19 20 … 30
