I find the lack of Tony the Pimp, Rawhead Rex and Captain Blake disturbing.

Im pretty sure tony the pimp and rawhead rex would be so far under recognized and under D tier it would be comical. Captain Blake on the other hand.....would still struggle for D tier, because for whatever reason when the Fog had a chance to push out content again they didn't really focus on isolating the lore in a way that emphasized an enemy character. We know Captain Blake exists, he even has action figures....but why the license holders have been sitting on their hands and not exploiting this more is an enigma to me. He could be C to B tier for sure if they pushed him out to the public more.

How are Sam and Dean S tier. I've only seen a handful of people request those compared to Xeno, Pennywise and Candyman. I've legit seen more FNAF request than I have most of these.

Unless it's your own personal preference then fair enough. Most highly requested I see is Xeno though followed by Slenderman, FNAF and Chucky. Candyman is up there and that's my bias is for him to be added. Quite against Chucky for a numerous amount of reasons though.

If we talk video games I'd be down for Mr. X from Resident Evil or an SCP themed paragraph even if the SCP stuff was just cosmetics and a map.

Its not based on forum posts alone, its based on google analytics mostly, trends, and name recognition. Sam and Dean are S tier because their google analytics are insane on top of having a significant fan base in this game. And its not just based on the United States, there are a lot of international players who have no idea who the hell Candyman is. (Because for whatever reason his movies on an international level are kinda sloppy.) That'll likely change after Jordan Peele releases his movie on the IP bringing it back up again, but as it stands right now its got more favor in the community than IRL clout. (Which for the sake of the IP I hope changes because it would suck if that movie flopped). I explained the FNAF stuff as its also got an equal portion of negative feedback regarding adding it in.

Quick update for everyone!! Thank you for watching! Yes i know it was short but we are going to go back and film more and make it a full length movie!!! It will be worth the wait! The sound will also be corrected!!

Now thats somethin to look forward to! Honest opinion, yeah it was short, and yeah I'm salty it was short because the build up from the basement scene was so good.

Some advice for the next installments if you're gonna use After Effects, you may want to adjust your lightning effect so that it matches the style of the black and white camera you're using. Its pretty jarring (and not in a good way) to have everything black and white and then suddenly.....theres lightning and its blue.... <----WOT??

Theres some pretty decent free utilities out there that'll save you some production cost. Also if you wanna save some bucks I produce musics and I'm pretty sure others among the community do as well. You could always outsource some production to the community.....since it is a fan made film....may as well outsource to some community members that'll hook you up for free?

I personally produce everything from Orchestral, to trap, to EDM, glitch, ambient etc. Give it a shot, boop the communities snoot!

So Scott created a new metric to give a killer a number for how powerful they are

this is his result and explanation for how it works

    Spoiler Spoiler Warning ▲ ▼

I wanna know people's opinion on this "totally not a tierlist"

I have some issues with it. including

    • he says "this killer has no counters" but doesn't give them a 10.
    • changing pig's numbers because she got the same result as doctor and he thinks she should be lower
    • inconsistency with the result, sometimes he would trunk the result, sometimes round it...
    • inconsistency is some measures (specially counters, but also map dependency)

granted, he's one guy doing this live. his bias will obviously show and he will commit mistakes along the way that he wouldn't if he took his time and made a script.

so I think I know how to fix the issues he had on his tierlist that isn't a tierlist.

More data. If more people do this, we can round the results and get something more accurate.

so this is also an invite for people to give their own numbers to whatever killer they think was unfairly judged.

(if I knew how to do this on excell, so you just plug the numbers and the result would come up, I would)

there's only one killer I really feel that got absolutely shafted in this, trapper. this are my numbers

    Spoiler Spoiler Warning ▲ ▼

Map pressure - 7. without traps is not much, but with traps it's insane. and how often do you not have traps? so 7 for an average.

down potential - still 6. I can't justify it going higher

no addons - 3. still bad, but not as bad as it sounds like. you just gotta be more methodical. (he gave clown with no addons a 4...just for comparison)

with addons - 8. yeah... he has some great addons.

map dependency - 8. He doesn't depend on maps more than billy. the numbers should be the same.

counters - 8. The counters that exist, are super rare. that should absolutely change the weight. a flashlight is way too common, but no one uses a map. they should not have the same weight in this category. and even with the counters, you still smack them when they take the long way around to avoid the trap.

    my result = 6.6

which is way closer to what I think trapper should be at.

that's some other stuff I would change about other killers. Like hag with addons should absolutely be a 9. freddys map dependency should be 10.

but that would change very little on the overall number and I'm too lazy... :p

    Not this guy again dude....

The whole video is just one big opinion.

How do you randomly assign a numerical value to map control?

Why is there no value for time on secondary objectives?

Why is there no value adjustment for map control vs high mobility killers who would naturally skew this number?

Why is there no value adjustment for map control for killers who have secondary objectives?

Its a novel idea to come up with a numerical value for these things, but you can't just straight up leave out factors, and you can't make up arbitrary numerical values for what equates to mobility IE map control, without also factoring in playstyle of the killer, whether it be through stealth, and the common alertness of people when there is a stealth killer around, or what factors change in the survivors habits when a stealth killer is present, what factors change in a survivor when a high mobility killer is present, what factors in behavior change when a non threatening killer is present, etc. You're weighing the gravity of the human element if you want real number, not making arbitrary numbers for what equates to a tier list. Especially if your reasoning for the numerical values is a cross reference to another killer.

    A good counter to FD:

If you know that the killer has FD, either from having been hit with it before and recovering your item, or seeing an ally lose an item after getting hit, then the next time you hear the killers Terror Radius getting closer, or See them heading towards you, manually drop your item where you are before giving chase. FD will only attempt to eat your Item if the killer manages to knock it out of your hand, so Dropping the item manually prevents the timer for FD from activating and potentially destroying it. Either way, you have to return to pick up your Item, but as long as you were the one to put it down, you don't have to worry about it getting destroyed. This is especially useful when it comes to high value Items like keys, but I feel you should take a different tactic when it comes to Keys: If you have a high value key, and the killer knows it, It's always a good practice to manually hide the key in a corner of the map, so that you can go get it either when your next hook will be your last, or you know that the hatch has spawned. Seeing keys in the lobby makes equipping FD very tempting for many killers, so the best chance you have against them is to take control of how and where the key lies on the ground before they make that choice for you.

People need to listen to more players like this guy ^ Valid strategy, easy to do, no reason to complain.

Sometimes. The consoles natively support it but most games don't. It's up to the developers to enable it. Modern warfare supports it. Fortnite as well. It's a bit of an iffy subject in shooters because it's a big advantage over controller.

In most shooting games its a disadvantage to have a mouse because they give controller users auto aim....

IE the Modern Warfare aim assist that was so strong you could snipe people you couldn't even see by just pulling the trigger when you slowed down.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Since when was everything about proving that you're better than someone else through any means?

Why can't we just get along and realise we all need each other for this game to work?

How can you honestly justify making other people MISERABLE for a reward that lasts for all of 30 seconds and comes with so much hate attached?

Why aren't games about fun any more?

These are several questions that I find myself lately, especially in regards to Dead by Daylight. This isn't a competitive setting where people's livelihoods depend on it, outside of a few streamers who could honestly jump ship into another game if it. So why do so many killers these days act like getting 4 kills every game determines their entire life? I play killer to not only test myself but to test the survivors and see what they're made of. I play survivor to see just how well I can do and to see if I can be the support for others that I wish that I've had before.

Lately it feels like I'm being forced to use perks and strategies that I personally despise because of the mindset of "I payed money, I can play how I want" when everyone else did and some of them now basically CAN'T play because you decided to only focus on 4 kills, or just suicide because you were found first. I am now having to equip perks like Decisive Strike and Unbreakable to deal with killers on a general level, rather than running perks I want to such as Dance with Me and Quick & Quiet because of the amount of tunnelling and slugging with this new MMR matchmaking that is giving me worse rainbows than the previous iterations.

I will not tell you to change your playstyle. That argument goes nowhere. All I'm asking is that we all just stop for a minute and realise that this is a video game. Something that we all do for fun, and if we don't stop acting the way we do, then nobody will be having fun for much longer.

If you must comment, then please just be respectful. No "git gud", no "entitled", no nothing. I'm not getting banned because you don't like that I'm challenging your ideals, and if I get a whiff of severe disrespect, I will be seeking the mods to close the thread.

This is just a game and we all need to remember that. Have fun. After all that's why we're here.

    The answer is simple....

    Dopamine Addiction.

Its not DBD's fault, its the condition of humanity as a whole.

Imo while the piece is strong, what they really need is a tell that lets survivors know myers is using them. Other than that, the pink is kinda meh, the purple is stronger but at the end of the day if you know Myers had them you'd be able to jump in a locker or something when you saw it.

Just curious, are the bottom tiers not-wants, or just indifferent-tos?

Bottom tiers are based on initial recognition, global appeal+community appeal or community negativity. (plus a little bit of google analytics) FNAF would be higher on the tier list, like A, but theres an equally loud section of the community that doesn't like FNAF

Same can be said about silent hill, since there were tons of monsters from that.

True but due to the way Silent Hill has handled its games and its media, it does have a set of Iconic monsters and protagonists that make it stand out above anything else, like instant recognition. Which I think is a big factor into how people view a lot of this horror content coming into DBD. Pyramid Head, The Nurses, The giant bunny costume. Are all Super Iconic for Silent hill....although, we still have yet to get "Real" nurses.

That would be cool. I love the idea of playing as someone like 106 but being able to release the others as time goes on. I made an entire chapter concept on it.

SCP has so much content though by itself, it'd be really difficult to narrow it down to 1 killer or 1 thing even. Its got a creative commons license though, so I could see it being utilized for skins, powers, maps, hell maybe they find 1 diamond among the swath of monsters they want to make into a singular killer or survivor. But its a huge ass box of content.

Also, how many hours do you have in the game? I mean I used to think Legion and Bubba were op as fudge when I started playing months ago, once I understood the game a bit better I realized how weak they actually were (Bubba is op now tho change my mind)

Because walls, pallets and vaults exist....and my shift button isn't glued down....

  • @xEa said:

What have they all in common? They give little to no reaction time by faking their ability. Deathslinger can simply fake his shot as often as he wants, Pyramid head leaves you to no joice aswell once he is using his ability. You either drop the pallet and get hit or you dont and get hit anyway. Killers like Huntress might work similar but you have counterplay and you know when she is about to attack.

I am really tired of those concepts devs come up recently.. apparently they dont understand their own game. Its no "skill" when you can sole counter defense of survivors by pressing a button. Its extremly frustrating to guess if and when the attack is coming. And to say the least, it is just a guess, nothing more and nothing less.

Same with Spirit. Versing this killer is a guessing game aswell, which makes her frustrating to verse.

I know this video got posted already, but this topic is still very relevant and he discribes it in a very understandable way.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5h10-JuLwEU

    This video is trash btw.

Dude....YOU CAN'T USE THE SAME TACTICS AGAINST EVERY KILLER IN THE GAME

They are all different, its not like survivors where you're all literal gameplay clones of each other.

So to have this ridiculous idea that you can play the game as if he's a trapper is nonsense.

He says "Nothing you've learned applies to these killers"

Right so....lets just ignore the fact that you can get behind objects for death slinger, or stop sprinting during a spirit chase, or VAULT A PALLET durring a spirit chase.

It has nothing to do with skill level, and everything to do with survivors not being willing to budge and adjust and use different tactics game by game.

They all want to play the same way, loop, pallet stun, flashlight <----but the second a killer makes 1 of those things invalid and you have to come up with a different way to avoid getting killed, survivors brains literally FREEZE! Like Hard Lock.

If anything, its proof that more killers should be made like this so survivors stop running through the game like robots expecting different results to happen if they keep doing the same thing over and over. <----Literally the definition of Insanity.

  • @MusicNerd_TC said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/178039/pyramid-head-and-deathslinger-let-this-trend-stop-please

Deathslinger's counterplay: break line of sight, and put objects between you 2.

Pyramid head's counterplay: pre-drop pallets and keep running, or go for stuns. Pretty hard actually.

    Spirit's counterplay: none.

Some people think the best counterplay to a killer is to just come to forums and complain.

  • @RoMainPuppy said:

When you play as pig and you put a trap on someone's head do you go after them even if the timer hasn't even started yet? Or even if it has? Like my assumption was you want to leave the people with trapped heads alone for a bit and go after people WITHOUT traps, in order to increase pressure. What's the point of trapping someone if you're just going to chase them right after anyway?

    Am I missing something?

    Alright so, here's the tip.

Ok so, you've made your first knock down in the match, you trap their head, hook them. <----BOOM Rush and get into another chase.

That person who is trapped is not only hooked, but as soon as they get off the hook they can't go rush gens....I mean they could....and then kill themselves but ey, you get the drift.

You should be utilizing your traps in a way so that every single 1 of those survivors has a chance to get trapped, because thats time leading them away from the main objective, which is gens.

If you see a person running around with a trap on their head as you're either starting another chase, or looking for a chase to start, if they have time ticking, just slug them IE a red helmet. Thats bait, its gonna force their team to heal and if you're good it lets you start another chase immediately pathing toward survivors moving to help the knocked out person. If the survivors aren't playing altruistically then just hook the red helmet and force them to again....get off gens.

Just because a person has a helmet on, DOES NOT MAKE THEM IMMUNE don't care what anyone says, if the clock is ticking, or even if the clock isn't ticking, if a helmeted survivor plays stupid and makes stupid mistakes punish them for it.

At any given time you may end up with 3 survivors with helmets on their heads ^ which means you have no reason to slack up and "allow" them to do a jigsaw box.

Control the pressure of the game, spread the pain, force as many survivors as possible to play the game at the same time. Get hooks, forcing them to stop what their doing and unhook, utilize slugging, to again force survivors to focus on another objective besides gens, bring a hex if you want, again, forcing survivors to focus on objectives besides gens.

Thats what makes pig powerful. Forcing survivors to do things they aren't used to doing.....and due to the human condition, this is enough most times to have them make mistakes and kill themselves better than you ever could.

  • Do they not have a colorblind mode? "I don't usually look for accessibility options like these so I wouldn't know" But if they don't.....for how old this game is, thats kind of embarrassing.

  • I live for this games moments of terror......but sadly....its extremely rare, and far and few between because BHVR would rather make the killer a non threatening joke and not promote hiding from the killer and making gens go by in 2 seconds etc.

It makes me a sad panda....but at least I can collect a scream or two from time to time....

Do others feel this way? I am not too wound up in the community but I am still curious

Me personally, I prefer playing this game on the off chance I get a streamer to scream their heads off. Don't really care about the competition, care more about the horror experience.

  • To take the OP's post seriously instead of all these troll responses. Yes there used to be ways to edit and tweak your settings to the point where there was no darkness at all on screen, or to set anti aliasing and fog in a way that let you see survivors in grass, including pretty much removing corn blindness. You could see a survivor in the corn from 40 meters out clearly breaking depth of field view.

You can still sorta tweak things to make it impossible for survivors to hide anywhere within camera view like gamma that reverses the killers default darkness compared to survivor. (yes killers have darker vision compared to survivors on purpose.)

But as some mentioned you cant edit those files anymore....(even though you likely still can and just kinda slide into cheating with it)

Outside of that though yeah....thats about all. But no it rarely had anything to do with a trash PC because this game runs on 700 series ######### tier nvidia cards. Most of it was people cheating, the small few actually use filters from their cards. That being said certain cards can still adjust the sharpness on folio to eliminate corn blindness to a degree, but nowhere near as hacky as the old settings edits.

    And yes...I'm a snitch.

Because those 11-year olds aren't 11 anymore. The series gained its 11-year old following 6 years ago, and most of the fans have matured since then. Combine that with the newer games becoming more dark (due to being developed by AAA studios), and now you have a perfectly legitimate option for a new licensed character.

Ok so now its fans are 16....it doesn't stop it from being C-list horror at best...its like trying to put the Toxic Crusader into a horror box and put him up against The Nun. Just no....Let the memes stay memes and put DBD on a real pathway.

I don't think Ghostface is scary. But he's in the game. He just seems like some normal dude to me.

Springtrap would be creepy as a Legendary Skin. But I wouldn't want a whole character based on him.

Ghostface doesn't have to be jump out of your skin scary, nor does Michael Myers....but.....both of them have a long ass body count. Five Nights at Freddys on the other hand....is a meme. Like Slenderman. Sure the game blew up because it was a nice piece of memey pewdiepie ready work. But....there's nothing really scary about the animitronics. And the original creator hasn't even taken it up a notch to make his characters horror icons. No movie, no narrative....just a folklore villain. And that....doesn't seem like enough for DBD. Just based on Aesthetic alone the FNAF characters are only scary to 8 year olds...and youtubers trying to make a trending video.

FNAF is right up there with Momo, slenderman, and Jeff the Killer, but at least momo and Jeff and slenderman have a scary aesthetic....

Are red rank survivor mains free from bias now? Most of the people I’ve seen who fall into this group also, rather strangely, happen to main Billy when they do play killer. But I’m sure that has absolutely no effect on their opinions.

As a killer main I would gladly take the word of a Red Rank survivor over the word of some green and yellow rank scrub that still doesn't know how to loop or look behind them. When it comes to killer balance your cream of the crop are going to be red rank survivors who know the game inside and out. Their opinions matter the most because if their competition is too weak theres no point in playing the game. If rank 1 survivors get to the point where they can all just curb stomp killers and escape on 4 every match....then the game is effectively dogshit, because the killer skill ceiling can't catch up to match the survivors.

They should never be balancing for rank 20 play unless its to solve a learning curve issue like they've done on a few occasions. Or to better address solo queues and minor information given for these survivors. Outside of that though, they should be hard balancing around rank 1's because a rank 1 is more likely to find and use something game breaking, or know how to respond to a powerful survivor perk or killer set up.

It does, but the point I try to make is, how will it be picked more if it only works with basic attacks now? The devs say something and do the complete opposite. I don't get it.

Oh, well then it'll be fine, unless you do a gen grab, or a locker pull....in which case it forces you to throw them to the hook.

  • Uhhhh It does still make people unable to see the person you knocked down right? Like.....that was the entire strategical use of the perk....RIGHT!??!?!?! DEVS!!!!!!!!

  • @Justalittlepeeck said:

Sometimes I think developers put in perks just because they think perk sounds too simple so they decide to add text to it so they get paid more or idk. I'm not trying to insult dear developers with that post, though, but sometimes I really don't understand their judgement. The following perks have "basic attack only" requirement and most of them have this requirement for no obvious (I wonder if there is even a reason) reason:

    • Save the best for last - reasonable.
    • HEX: Third Seal - unreasonable
    • Knock out - somewhat reasonable, but then we remember that killers like Spirit, Hag, Meyers and others with snowball and slugging potential exist who are allowed to use this perk without restrictions, but killers like Demogorgon, Huntress or Chainsaw killers apparently aren't, also, Infectious fright.
    • Franklin's Demise - reasonable
    • Remember Me - unreasonable
    • Dark Devotion - unreasonable, the basic attack requirement just makes no sense here (as Meyers or Nurse are allowed to get undetectable via their powered attack, then why aren't other killers who don't have such luxury, even though they don't have that much instadown or snowball capability and also, most of them either don't benefit from undetectable anyway (huntress, demogorgon) or have to come in close distance to activate the perk so why aren't they allowed to keep their momentum and use their power (chainsaw killers)
    • Surge - unreasonable, it already has a cooldown and limited range and its effect isn't that major (also the fact that this perk belongs to the killer who uses M1 attack only when brings in SBFL is laughable)
    • Gearhead - unreasonable. This perk has 3 different requirements to be useful without basic attack requirement - 2 hits, 30 seconds window, survivor doing a good skillcheck on a gen during that time.

Only 3 out of 8 perks are somewhat reasonable to have such limitation, others, well, these perks are MEH even without basic attack requirement. They are niche, they don't have much impact on the game or they already have another restriction:

    • HEX: Third Seal - is a hex perk, which applies not very gamechanging debuff.
    • Remember Me - after nerf (32 to 16 seconds max increase) has no major impact in the game and is highly situational, moreover it doesn't just give it's effect for nothing, you must earn it by targeting obsession. And this perk has basic attack requirement, which makes it pretty useless for killers who rely on their power to down survivors.
    • Dark Devotion - you have to find the obsession and the undetectable effect isn't that strong for any of existing killers if they were not forced to use basic attack.
    • Surge - not very major effect, has a cooldown and is range limited.
    • Gearhead - it has 3 other conditions to give any use and even though it is pretty meh.

Then, I remember the existence of the following perk:

Infectious Fright. What it does? It reveals survivors within your terror radius everytime you down a survivor. And this wonderful tool of slugging has no basic attack requirement. But perks like Knockout and Third Seal (other slugging perks) somehow must be "basic attack only".

Also, the following killers that are considered to be pretty strong by people have no basic attack restriction on them, since their power attacks are considered basic attack:

    • Spirit
    • Deathslinger
    • Nurse
    • Hag
    • Myers

Every single one of these killers, except deathslinger, has very good snowballing and slugging capability and deathslinger is very strong in 1v1 chases which he ends quickly using his power. According to current state of the game, these killers are ALLOWED to use "basicattackonly" perks. What makes them different from killers like Plague (red vomit), Chainsaw killers, Executioner, Oni or Huntress? I think that the killers I just named are even WEAKER than killers from the bulleted list. Yet somehow ones are allowed to get use of basic attack perks despite using their power, others are not. Then we have killers like Pig and Demogorgon who are far from being the best, but for some reason they are still not allowed to use "basicattackonly" perks through their power.

Oh, I'm not even talking about "exposed" mechanic, which is also "basicattackonly" so Nurse or Spirit etc can get use of it without restrictions, but Pig or Demogorgon cannot.

Just why it is the way it is? Please, either be consistent and make ALL perks, attack landed after using power and so on NOT to be considered a basic attack or be more reasonable with putting that restriction to perks and powers. Most perks and killers could really get a new life if they were allowed to use "basicattackonly" perks and exposed at their fullest.

Not gonna lie I agree with this. I've almost stopped using pigs lunge because I just can't get the full effect from the perks I carry into game. Changing pigs lunge to not be a basic attack was stupid, especially since it only makes the survivor lose 1 health state.....

One Streamer do bones in solo Q that is not big thing. Man our randoms dont doing gens and u want from them doing bones lol xD

Hey, Vroomy was a noob at one point as well with only 30 hours or something like that. If he can grow, these other solo Q survivors can grow as well.

Thats really all the skill in this game comes down to, growth. I used to be the most absolute trash on killer hands down. I didn't know how to chase effectively, I didn't know how to combine perks, I didn't know how to spread pressure around to avoid the traps of camping etc, I didn't know damn near anything about survivor perks.

But you know what.....over time, I grew. And now I slay bitches left and right!

People may say, well, these pug solo groups are bad etc. Personally, I think it would benefit survivors, and their ranks more, if they weren't allowed to be boosted by their rank 1 friends. But hey, clearly BHVR doesn't want to improve the survivor experience and will leave solo q survivors out to dry. And trust me, from my killers perspective I see it at least once per game. Where theres 1 guy....who OBVIOUSLY does not belong there. They can't loop, they don't look behind them, they're off somewhere completely unrelated to gens or objectives, I look at their score at the end of the match and even if they were the second to last person to die, they have 4000 points....TOTAL and these Anchor weight survivors can go up as high as rank 3 that I've seen. INCREDIBLY BOOSTED!

Will BHVR change survivor ranking so that this doesn't happen? Hopefully with this next MMR change. That way solo survivors will actually be paired up with people who share the same competence. But I hear ya....some of your buddies are nightmarish.

  • With the Rarity of Eboni Mori's I rarely use them. Except on a few occasions where I know I'm about to face a SWAT team. 4 P3's 3 flashlights and a key.....yeah I'm bringing my gun to that match AKA Mori.

If survivors are gonna get sweaty against me I should have every right to return the favor. Because you know.....balance.

  • I know a guy, (Twitch streamer btw) (Vroomy btw) who plays David most games, and manages to do at least 3 to 4 and sometimes 5 bones per game solo + 2 gens.....

I dunno ######### you survivors are doing for half the match walking around in circles or fiddling with crows but.....

^ Get like David....and do bones.

And yes it works, as this man has foiled my plans multiple times....

I think the biggest problem in dead by daylight is that a lot of killer don’t understand or can’t accept that the game is/ will be balanced around 50/50, that means that a killer played well if he gets 2 or more kills. But why so many killer expect to get 4k every match? A lot of them think „it don’t feels like a win if a survivor escape“. I can understand those killer cause it’s the goal of killer to kill survivors and if they don’t kill all four survivors think they miss their goal. So it’s a psychological problem of the game: it’s hard to understand that 3k are still a „win“. But those killer who can’t accept this 50/50 are the players who are crying for all the survivor perk nerfs and say the game is unbalanced or survivor sided. These are the player with a tryhard playstyles (tunneling, camping, insta mori, slug for 4k) what makes the game really unfun. You have to take a look on the other side, the survivor: if a killer could easy 4k every single game there are four players who couldn’t „win“, escape. It’s needed that every killer have different results: 0-1k, 2k or 3-4k, so the survivor gave the chance of 50/50 too. Sometimes you have some „bad games“ in a row, but in total you will get your 50/50, and that’s needed on both sides.

It’s a bit sad that the devs don’t show us the actual stats but here you can see the last one from november 2019:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/ZXJWYCSPGSIV/105f3345-bf87-4f87-bfc4-86fcad0798c5.jpeg

You can see that the killrates were over 50% (2 kills) so it’s nearly balanced for both sides or more killersided (70%). When I play killer I’m still fine with 2k and around 25.000 bloodpoints, that’s mostly a „gg“ for both sides. So please stop crying and try to find a way to count 3k as your personal win and know that 2k are still fine. Play the game in a fair way and accept that you don’t need 4k every game and have fun. Nobody can „win“ always ;)

The only real issue is the actual matchmaking which makes it very difficult and unfair for lower rank killer who faces highrank survivors, but I hope the new matchmaking will coming soon and makes the matches for these player more fun.

I‘m very interested in what you are think about that, so feel free to leave a comment.

None of these numbers mean a damn thing because matchmaking doesn't take into account skill, and resets frequently. So no. I can't count the amount of times I've seen matches where theres multiple red rank survivors going against a rank 20 killer, or multiple purple rank survivors going against a rank 15 killer, or a rank 1 killer going against a bunch of rank 8's.

None of these stats mean anything....period.

  • Pig doesn't need a rework. Her kit is more than fine. If anything they could do a pass over her add ons and make them better so that her head traps are more of a threat. Outside of that though, she doesn't need anything.

Ohhh makes way more sense, i was under the impression that the survivors would be locked by the clone in a short animation , like getting healed by another, i think i got distracted by the "runs finger through your hair"-example.

If IdV can do a permanently invisible hunter, I think dbd could manage, especially since dbd killers are comparably simple.

One can hope, I love stealth killers, and love the grudge, if it ever came to DBD, I'm dropping my wallet immediately.

@Peanits Would this not be spooky?!?!

  • @Raptorrotas said:

"Hold x to lock onto survivor and spawn a clone" - a combination of doctor and old freddy. I dont see how'd it bug out a lot.

"Survivors in clone's field of vision / clone's target is affected by debuff for x charges/seconds (if that clone applies a fear/madness effect)" also possible.

The problem are the spooky animations, as animatio locking survi ors is a straight stun effect which could seriously be overpowered lol.

Well if the spooky animations work a bit more like Doc's clones, they won't cause any camera locking or anything like that.

The premise is to spook the survivor based on their camera angle, that is to say if they're looking a certain direction then the ghost or whatever will offer a scare toward that direction.

Note that this power is for when the killer is coming out of stealth. So imagine the same amount of time it takes Wraith to uncloak, these animations and visions or sound effects are taking place until the killer is revealed and normal red stain and heartbeat take place.

Basically adding FX and scare factor to the killers terror radius. For balance purposes, you could even make it so that the killer can't see these aboritions and ghost FX. Or you could make it visible to both survivor and the killer almost like a semi tracking. Ideally though, it would work better if the killer was FULLY STEALTH, no footstep sounds, no grass movement, so that just like wraith you have the element of suprise and can reveal yourself, but without the obvious directional tell of where you are since theres crazy stuff going on and false images, and spooky hands reaching through the window.

You could even take it a step further and adjust the killers animations while vaulting windows to have the same animation as the false spooky effect.

I mention the grudge ghost as a place holder effect since there are elements in that film and many others that utilize the same type of scare tactic. And it works!!

That sounds like old Freddy but more interesting, but it depends on how they do it, could be cool. I love the original Grudge movie or Ju-On as it was called in japan, it was so creepy, I'd love to see that license in the game.

    One can only hope

  • This is like....what people with potato computers do to get "more frames"

You drop the resolution down to 33% <--- This isn't good. This just means you have a trash computer and need to upgrade your graphics card.

If your computer can barely push 20 frames on this game, its likely that your monitor can't even handle an 144hz refresh rate (and if it can, your buying priorities are in the complete ass opposite order).

Get a New GPU....get a new CPU that can handle above 100 frames, and get a monitor that can handle 144hz.

If you're on a 60Hz monitor and pushing 100 frames its literally wasted data....

Ryzen 5 3600's are decent, Nvidia 1660's are at a decent price point as well....just upgrade....that beat up rig....

Also Vsync has nothing to do with poor FPS in games unless you're running an INCREDIBLY OLD card....

Spring trap isn't bad. I honestly don't know why people don't want him, lol.

U have plenty of dbd tubers who actually want springtrap, lol

Because Five Nights at Freddys is a meme....Don't wanna play a meme killer...If they're gonna do a licensed meme killer save it for after they get legends of horror from licenses first....like #########. We could have The Grudge, Hellraiser, Chucky, a Xenomorph, a leviathan from Supernatural, The Nun, Insidious ghosts and demons, LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE BUT MEMES!!!

  • @Mr_Gr00vy said:

Considering that we can't have anymore dlc singles like "Ghostface™". And I believe our next killer might be another license killer but can't promise anything.

I personally hope that we can get Candyman or see Pinhead be brought into dead by daylight as seeing both the two would fit into this lovely community/ game.

But some people have been wanting "The Attraction" Aka, Springtrap from the FNAF game series. Which in my opinion, doesn't seem like a bad idea as William Afton or Michael Afton (Purple Guy) ((The Killer)) is like what causes the whole FNAF start and start of the lore.

Originally, he was one of the Security guards at the Five nights at freddy's location. After being there for a bit of time and receiving bad pay he eventually turned insane and went on a child murder spree ((Please correct me if any of this is wrong.)) And when he slaughtered the children he would stuff them into the animatronic suits (4 robot suits) and those who he murdered would go on and possess the animatronics. And would activate at night and do "Mysterious" things in the night as stated by the phone guy.

Later in the timeline, in fnaf 3. We receive new information that William Afton or Michael afton eventually gets haunted by the dead children. Chasing him into Freddie's secret room with rage.

Afton was terrified that they came back to come after him. And got into the same springlock suit he used to murder the children and laughed as they thought he was safe, until something got into the springlock suit and brutally crushed him to death as the spring suit clamped on his organs and suffocated him as it crushed his ribs. Passing out from bloodloss. He was found 3 or 6 yrs later by some people and they opened an area as a horror attraction. Using him as a "Main Prop" to attract people there.

But, I wanna hear your thoughts me personally I'm really hoping for the ones I said like candy man or pinhead. But I seriously can see springtrap in here. He definitely fits so well with the whole aspect of DBD

If they're gonna waste a license on a damn killer it better be Kayako from The Grudge....
