Hi everyone on the forums, I am here to bring you an analysis on the most idiotic Killer in this game: Pig.

Pig has every tool she needs to make the Survivors' experiences miserable without any drawback whatsoever. She is so oppressive that even after all those nerfs Pig mains have whined about she still had a 70% (!!!) Kill rate in Red Ranks ( https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/106566/ ).

Pig has little to no counterplay in the hands of the Survivors, she has to make the mistakes, Survivors are merely spectators of a slaughter. Here's my suggestion on how to change every single problem she has currently.

    Reverse Bear Traps (RBTs):

The Reverse Bear Trap is the most RNG-heavy disgusting thing in this game at the moment. All she needs is to down you, press M2 and that's it. You are now constantly zoned and threatened without any other input from the Killer side.

RBTs could kill you on the spot, they allow the Killer to PATROL BOXES in order to gain an unfair psychological advantage on the victim, they are completely random so you don't even know where to go but the most annoying thing is that they PUNISH Survivors for doing their objective.

    Solution:

RBTs now activate when the Survivor wearing them cleanses a Totem. That way Pig is now stronger on Hex builds and Survivors can play their objective.

RBTs are always disabled by the farest boxes from the Survivors, like Freddy's clocks. That way they will not be such RNG idiocy.

RBTs timer changed to 360s. This way they will be a true delay mechanic and not a random kill thing that completely ruins the game for the Survivor.

    Crouching:

Pig's crouching ability is easily the best stealth mechanic in the game currently. It's a mindgame tool, it's a dash, it's a counter to Borrowed Time, a must have perk nowadays.

Amanda has so many different options with this mechanic that there's no way for the Survivor to play around them all, negating counterplay.

First off, the biggest offender: when crouched, Pig looks like a Survivor. The lack of red stain, the size, the speed alter the way you, as a Survivor, are supposed to look at the game.

Secondly, since the Terror Radius closes on Pig and does NOT disappear instantly, she can use it to make someone think she left, the feeling is entirely different and there's no way for a Survivor to grasp what's going on with precision.

Last but not least, the dash. This is so unfair, how is she allowed to move at 6.9 m/s for 2.5s? How is a Survivor supposed to dodge that? Where is the counterplay? The only way out is to hope the Pig messes up, not reaching you because she miscalculated distances.

Side note on how the Undetectable aspect allows her to proxy camp better than any Killer bar Deathslinger, the second best Stealth Killer in the game.

    Solution:

Crouching now takes 2s (up from 1.3s). This minor change will make sense with the next ones.

When crouched she is not Undetectable but she has a small 18m Terror Radius and the red stain. This give Survivors counterplay with Borrowed Time and Pig can no longer disguise as a Survivor.

During the dash she now moves at 4.8 m/s for 2s. This way there will be counterplay to it.

    Add-Ons:

Most of her Add-Ons are nuts and make her even more insufferable from the other side point of view.

Combat Straps is the most oppressive one, allowing her to crouch way faster and permitting an even quicker Dash, especially combined with the next add-on I'm about to talk about.

Video Tape does a little bit too much on an already good aspect of the Killer and needs to be addressed. Change it so it does something else, something completely different.

Face Mask counters all aura reading Perks and items, a bit too much for a single add-on, no counterplay, no way to play around it, just suck it up and play without your stuff untill you remove the RBT, extremely oppressive.

Slow-Release Toxin has a similar problem but Exhaustion is so much more than Blindness, every Exhaustion add-on is broken but this one is total insanity, Exhaustion for around one minute after getting unhooked? You are supposed to recover from Exhaustion when hooked, this add-on doesn't make any sense at all.

Tampered timer is basically a free mori in disguise, obviously broken, I don't need to talk about it, Scorpionz proved it for me.

And that's it. That concludes my analysis. I hope you liked it :)

I would also like the roar to be changed to the Metro Golden Mayer one so that even new player can recognize it and know what's up ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrLyllumxts ).

Its not april fools.....what is this thread....

I just had a match in which a survivor traded hooks and the recently unhooked survivor rescued her. I downed the rescuer and got ds'd and the two of them escaped since it was near the 99'd exit gate.

    TLDR I feel your pain.

Its a predictable strat at this point dude....if you see them trying to force you to do anything near a hook just slug them and wait out the timer.....they aren't going anywhere....also, even if its 1 gen left or end game, don't hook near the exit gates....unless you're myers or billy or leatherface or you can pull a ghost face just....pull them closer to the middle of the map, you get a decent amount of time to move people to the hook you want just....don't be afraid to take that time.

Then by your logic it's entitled for survivors to think that the killer can't hardcore tunnel and facecamp, since most survivor teams have at least 1 moron that falls for that and gets everyone killed.

And I really have no idea what fantasy world you live in where "meta" and"overlap" are the same thing. Seriously, so-called slowdown perks aren't even meta, it's just a catagory of perks. Pop is meta. Surge isn't. Maybe go look up the definition of overlap, or accept that your definition means that literally every perk catagory overlaps because there are perks from every vaguely-defined catagory of perk that are considered meta. For example, info perks (bond, kindred, BBQ, whispers), healing perks (inner Strength, SC/Botany), chase perks (enduring), exhaustion perks (self explanatory) and stealth perks (IW, UE).

Honestly, what you are saying makes no sense, second chance perks are not the survivor equivalent of game slowdown perks. Please do compare DS to Pop, and/or 1-use-huge-reward perks that cover a survivors mistakes and/or allow them to make hyper aggressive and overtly unfairly unpunishable plays, to perks that, depending on the character, go from offering them a fighting chance by both passively and actively slowing down generator repairs, to making high-momentum characters completely overbearing and genuinely annoying.

You just explained why no one should have sympathy for your loss at this point. "Survivor teams have at least 1 moron that falls for tunneling and facecamping"

Well in your instance you just became that thing but killer side by being complacent in the middle of the match and "being nice".

Why on gods green earth, would you ever start hook pressure by an exit gate after all the generators are done.... you're making us killers look bad....

  • @Huff said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1442519#Comment_1442519

That totally will prevent her from tunneling players off a hook. Right.

Dude they're camping.....why are you not pumping gens and at the exit gates by now? Do you need BHVR to pause hook progression so you can do what people have been saying do for years in countering camping? Do we need body blocking courses? Do we need unhook lessons? Do we need locker and hook tech lessons?

People say do bones to counter noED on a killer you know is gonna crutch that perk, IE damn near all M1 killers. Do they listen? No, and then they whine when their whole team gets dusted.

People say bring Kindred you can see the killer camping, then rush gens when you see them standing there. Do people listen? No, they just bumrush the hook anyway and proceed to whine on forums when they run headfirst into Bubbas chainsaw.....

People say, hey you can easily stop tunneling with DS, or BT.......Takes several years and people are just now catching on, yet people still whine about tunneling? BODY BLOCKING IS A THING!!! HELLOOOO~ 4 years into this games life and survivors still treat each other like trash...SMDH. Theres literally a thread I've been responding to right now where the OP gets dusted by perks and a team that can counter everything you're talking about. But side head....we're supposed to just keep making excuses for people both killer and survivor on how to stay bad? What sense does that make...you have literally every tool to complete any task you could desire in front of you if you'd just use yer brain.....

Like literally thats all this forum is some times is people whining and trying to blame other people or some perk or some mechanic instead of focusing on why they're bad in the first place and going "Oh well the killer or survivor is obviously rigged thats why I lost....like no dude....you lost because you weren't prepared. Every loss in this game comes down to that. You just weren't prepared, either by coming into the game as a killer vs a lobby with items you didn't prepare for by bringing the right killer or perks, or by survivors not being prepared on maps by knowing the layouts and the loops. But no BHVR is supposed to just cater to the excuses instead of create meaningful choices in the game....

Not all killers can just “snowball” though and if they do it’s because the survivors made some massive misplays. There are only a few that can truly do it. Even with Dying light, Sloppy, and Thana it’s not going to slow heals enough to get the survivors to just not heal and be free one shots. It’s hard for a none stealth killer to really even profit from spending that many perk slots on just slowing heals. Even Tru3Talent the guy who vouches that Wraith and Ghostface are top tiers if you use antiheal only uses two perks and only one of them slows down heals. Sloppy. Nurses is just an information perk that’s complimented by -slightly- slower heal times.

Dying Light is 100% overrated. Think about it. It starts the game off buffing a survivor with no downside and then slowly builds throughout the game to slow the other three. With Dying Light you have to ignore the obsession because if you kill them it deactivates and that’s a waste of a perk slot. You’re going to be chasing one of the 3 survivors it effects at any given time, meaning at most it’s only ever going to be effecting two people. It also is actively fighting against your slowdown “snowball” build as the obsession gets a 33% buff to healing speed. Thana isn’t going to be able to give it’s mediocre slowdown if the obsession is still healing faster than base speed because of Dying Light. The only killers it could be annoying on is Freddy and Legion, but there are better Legion builds out there.

Corrupt is great. The fact that it cuts off the gens the survivors are most likely to spawn on and forcing them towards you is great for just about every killer because the early game is the only point where they have zero pressure. It’s certainly not needed, but it’s better than Dying Light and Thana.

If you don’t like pop, the best slowdown perk in the game, then you could always run Ruin and Surveillance. The hex will usually be up for a bit and get you some really good mileage. A mix of info and gen regression.

Thrilling is one of the best information perks in the game though. I agree with using that. Thrilling plus pop is actually a very good combo. It shows you where people are on gens so you can apply pressure and give a quick kick while you’re at it.

Well heres the thing right, you don't "HAVE" to kill the obsession immediately, if they're in the way and you catch them on a good loop, theres no sense in not hooking them at least 1 time. I mean if they wanna counter your dying light at that point they have to kill themselves. You're gonna get at least 3 stacks of it off before the 2nd gen pops if you know your killer. If you catch the obsession between that point sure you get less, but again as I've mentioned before, the obsession can't be everywhere at one time to utilize that healing buff, and on top of that its "ONLY" a healing buff. They still get action speed reductions on gen times and whatever else. So its not being wasted. If people wanna keep running toward the obsession to heal themselves (considering I also mentioned carrying franklins, which will dumpster their attempts to self heal without self care) (If they try to self care through those reductions thats EVEN MORE TIME, they aren't spending on a gen.) It all compounds off itself giving you more time to complete chases. And if you bring Thrilling, its basically a free BBQ at that point. You have 2-3 people injured and rambling around trying to heal, you have 1 person on a hook, you have 1 person working on a gen, you run to that gen knock them, hook them, kick the gen, and keep rolling from there. No matter how you cut it, by the time they have 2 gens left, or even 1 gen left, you've either killed 2 people by this point (not the obsession), and have 6 to 7 stacks of dying light, and 2 stacks of thano.....they aren't gonna finish that gen if you have a character that can patrol it.

Does this build work on all killers? No. As you mention corrupt is great, but only for the first 2 minutes. Some killers can ignore those first 2 minutes and don't need that in their kit, like Doc, Freddy, Pig, and Plague...<----All of which have great built in secondary objectives to stall for time. If you're on ghostface sure, you're gonna wanna run corrupt. You don't have a huge skillcheck debuff and tracking, you don't have puzzle traps, you don't have nightmares, and you can't force people to cure a disease. But that doesn't change the fact that when you're stacking those slowdown perks (aside from sloppy) those gen times are going down....period. No matter if you buff the obsession to have 100% heal speed......doesn't matter....the gen times are going down. <---Which is the target in the first place. I personally don't recommend pop....I mean it does what it says it does sure. But, its got a cooldown, and forces you to path toward a gen instead of immediately engage on another chase. And in the pigs world (which I would hope applies to other killers) Nobody has time for that....I would rather spend my time getting more hooks, and knocking people off the ability to touch a gen in the first place, than spend time walking toward gens while you go and do a completely different one. If I'm not on top of my prey...at all times...I'm losing.

Better than useless RBT stuff that no one will ever use. At least those will aid on chase.

    Except they don't....

If you're throwing a 60 second hemmorage on someone you're chasing it does nothing to aid your chase, you were going to down them anyway.

60 second blind on hit does nothing <-----They have no reason to see auras in that 60 seconds....they are about to be hooked...who the hell are you trying to obscure their vision from?

60 second mangled.....also trash. Insta kits ignore it, and they aren't gonna stop and heal mid chase.

60 second hindered <-----the devs would never allow it.

60 second exhaustion is probably the only thing that makes sense as it would stop things like dead hard......<----as if it was worth stopping in the first place.

Her current head traps are infinite exhaustion, and infinite hemo as long as they're wearing the hat.

Which means if they stumble into you again after checking some boxes, not only can they not sprint burst away, they can't dead hard, they can't lithe, and they can't use any exhaustion perks while the helmet is on their head. Which means you won the chase from start to finish. Instead of a 60 second window that could be drawn out by pallets......

Try making a "safe hook" with a Pig crouching right in the area. I'd love for you to explain how to do that against a camping Pig in a normal solo survivor environment.

Once again it's not about the efficiency. It's about the chance to ruin somebody's game. Just like the reason they took away some of PH's kit to make it harder for him to camp around cages: it wasn't the most efficient way to play him and look, he still got changed because some players play him that way. "Lose" or not, you should see the issue. Do you think people like being told "all you have to do is default the killer and pop gens" when they're getting facecamped by Insidious Leatherface? No matter how right you may be, it doesn't change the fact that this person and whoever else ends up falling for it just had their game ruined by a completely stupid and unfun strategy. A lot of people have a problem with something like that, and I imagine BHVR is trying to tone that stuff down because they're removing the chainsaw guys' infinite revving.

"^ Why are you hooked in the first place?" Oh right silly me I forgot, as survivor you're not allowed to be hooked once or it means your game is over. Silly me.

It's hilarious how you try to tell me all that, and then also "you guys just screamed at the devs until they made a Knee Jerk reaction" is completely false. Go ahead and find a comment where I'm whining at the devs for him to be changed. Pro tip: you can't, and you won't. I didn't give a damn about PH. I know what you're saying and everything. That doesn't change the fact that the devs seem to want the game a certain way, and are allowing certain characters to be outliers -- like Pig.

So don't even try to bring up that "you just whined for a hotfix" ######### when you don't know what you're saying, please.

I know you already don't seem to know what you're saying, as shown by the fact that I've constantly pointed out that it's not about the efficiency, and you still continue to try to argue against me on that basis. You don't need to make yourself sound more clueless by throwing out the "git gud" instead of actually, ya know, saying anything whatsoever of substance in response.

Your whole reply boils down to:

"Just don't make unsafe unhooks" (I already explained why that's ridiculous.)

"Just do gens and they depip" (I already explained that's not the point of what I'm saying, yet you're too dense to see.)

"You just like to whine because you can't get good and want to blame the devs" (Nothing but a straw man for you to try to take down, as you can't respond with any sort of actual intelligence. You're either a complete idiot or you're being disingenuous if you actually want to believe that I complained about PH before.)

I can't wait to see how you're going to (or more likely, not going to) debunk thing's I've said here.

I mean sure.....its not like perks like Kindred exist...

  • @Kolonite said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1439492#Comment_1439492

Also, don’t run this build. Dying light is overrated. Franklins isn’t worth the perk slot. NOED just teaches you bad habits. Thana also isn’t worth it. Corrupt tends to be great on most killers. Pop if you want a reliable slow down. If you really like ruin you should run it with surveillance. Your other two-three perks should differ from killer to killer. They could be chase perks like enduring, bamboozle, or STBFL. Infectious for killers who snowball. Info perks for killers that capitalize on it the best. Like Ghostface. I run corrupt and 3 info perks on my Ghostface because he doesn’t need the chase perks as you don’t really chase with him.

Dying light is far from overrated. I usually get 7 stacks into a game snowballing and stacking on top of the thano stacks, if you're moving around and throwing survivors off of gens it compounds this effect. Corrupt is mediocre, its great for killers who need a long set up like Myers or trapper or hag, but for the rest of the roster you're better off stacking slown down perks on top of thrilling tremors. Or, you could be dock and stack Surge on top of distressing.

Having to run to a generator to stop it wastes too much time. You should be snowballing and moving from chase to chase non stop.

I would only do this if I wanted to lose. Franklin's is for losers, just face the wall or bait the flashlight save and run a real perk. Noed is for baby killers easily countered and taken out. Most killers only get one down, if that, with noed. Dying light is trash that only works on two people at once, while buffing the survivor you avoid. Thana is only good against teams that heal and most good players don't even do that. Then you suggest slugging with knockout.... Lol Are you trolling the most toxic build in the game or are you actually serious with this? If you are you must get DC's every game.

Well I mean if I'm playing against a toxic team of sweat, why not be toxic in return?

Why bother carrying lightborn, when I can just delete your items....flashlight or toolbox or map or health kit?

Why bother carrying ruin when you can just tear the totem down?

Thano+Dying light stacks, and stacks quickly to the point where you would need to gang gens, and it slows healing, and its a much better slow down than new ruin. Also, the obsession even while buffed can't be everywhere at once. Slug em, move on, because their team mates heal speed is debuffed.

He wanted a build thats effective against those perks he mentioned....and I gave him exactly that, the most hated killer perks in the game. Deal with it?

  • Just run, NoED, Franklins, Dying Light, Thanatophobia. It'll slow the game down, a little bit. And if they don't slow down, you take their necks off with noED. Oh and if you don't feel the need to run franklins to kill flashlights, bring knockout, so you can just slug them. And swap out thano for Deerstalker or sloppy butcher.

Same reason people made suggestions for bad PH players.

PH can also ignore the urge to camp all together. Still got changed. Doesn't matter if only bad players do it, they still do, and BHVR still seems to be against it. Yes, survivors will make dumb mistakes sure, but it's not really a "dumb mistake" to have the killer just constantly harass you. That's not something the survivor can control. Just like PH got to decide whether he was a camping douche or not.

Yea sure, tunneling isn't a real thing. Go have a killer stick around the hook and then knock you right back down when you get off into a mori off your first hook. Then tell me tunneling isn't a real thing.

Don't make unsafe unhooks, and your team mates won't die 2 seconds after getting off the hook.....for gods sake they give you bonus points (A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT) for making safe unhooks....

And for camping all you have to do is default the killer and pop gens. They will lose that match and depip no matter what....so I dunno what the issue is?

"But what about the person on the hook"

^ Why are you hooked in the first place?

On the same token as PH....instead of calling out bad plays you guys just screamed at the devs until they made a Knee Jerk reaction to "hotfix" it. A very vocal minority on top of that.

Games been around for years yet people still find excuses for bad play and scream at the devs to adjust for their terrible skill level instead of get better at the game. Its a trash mentality, and will eventually kill the game ala Evolve Stage 2 style.

  • @Huff said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1437153#Comment_1437153

I do understand. I'm telling you, at least the ones that I play against, the Pigs will do that and still tunnel somebody off hook even if they get off. They down, helmet, hook, camp, and then tunnel them so they can't get their helmet off.

Why are you making suggestions for bad pig players then?

She's one of the only killers in the game who's kit makes it possible to ignore the urge to camp all together. Once they have a helmet on them they're effectively "Ruined" until they get it off. There's no excuse for camping on pig unless you're bad, or unless the survivors are bad and don't know how to respond to camping.

Lack of education regarding those strategies is extreme, because I still see survivors making the same dumb mistakes....

You wanna give survivors the excuse of XYZ is camping, sure.

But tunneling is not a real thing. If your team mates make ######### saves and farm the hook you're screwed. Thats not the killers fault you're sitting out there wide open and refuse to move and hide somewhere else. Could the killer go after the guy who unhooked you? Maybe....if they could find that guy in the first place. Because usually people that farm you off the hook don't leave tracks, and hide. Which means your goofy ass running away are the only tracks the killer has to follow. <-----you've been FARMED not tunneled.

They should start with add on rework Who on hell use RTB trap ailments?

    For instance:

Neurotoxin (slow release toxin) those hitted by ambush hit get exhausted per 60 secs.

Utility blade: Any survivor that have been repairing suffer from hemorrhage status.Decrease good skillcheck area a bit.

Facemask change to Slow release toxin Those hitted by ambush will be blinded per 60 secs.

Rusty attachment: Decrease moderately the skillcheck area of gen repairs.

Amandas letter I would just quit the part of RBT reduction it the most lame add on I think being Iridiscent.

Timed status effects are trash....You just suggested changes that are worse than the current status effect helmets.... at least the helmets will stay on their heads longer than 60 seconds...

If i read this right then the survivors have no choice but to rush gens to stay alive. Which is exactly the opposite of her power design.

    My thoughts

    3 minute base timer

    Traps active upon placement.

Gens that get finished remove 30 seconds from the timer

Timer pauses while slugged or hooked or within 16 meters of the pig

Unlimited traps or at least up the base number

Add on for global roar sound and one for no sound

    Blindness base for traps

    Dashing can vault pallets

Its a good idea overall, but you don't wanna make timers pause while Pig is in range. Remember we had a patch that did that and it broke her cause it was a HUUUUUUUUUGE tracking perk basically.

Yes, the crutch perk angle, coming from the person who used it as a crutch perk. When I say experience, I mean me using it.

Also, not quite. This of course coming from the rank 1 killer player who enjoys both sides (though I'm currently rank 2 survivor unfortunately). This coming from the person who likes Claudette and how she looks and so has her as the forum pfp. Don't believe me, here you go:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/9ZS97P6DFJKI/image.png

I've had this discussion before and I'll say it again; don't judge people off of who they have as their forum pfp. Want to see me play killer for 4 hours? Twitch.tv/KareBoyKaru, check out the VOD from yesterday. Didn't have a single survivor game. But sure I hold no weight to the discussion and only play survivor.

Also here's my current favourite survivor build:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/HUKBJUOO8K6M/image.png

Kept in the name & rank so you know that it's me. Not a self-care in sight.

But no, toxic entitled survivor main whining about NOED.

EDIT: Let's not forget I just wanted a solo QOL buff, and then said that NOED didn't even need a nerf. Man I love you and your comments but this ain't it chief.

Rank doesn't mean anything in this game LOL are you unaware of matchmaking?

  • F. True killers of skill and dedication. You will be missed.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJD8lMeCh8Q

  • They'd have to contact the WB yeah. I think a licensed killer and the brothers as survivors from the show with say a Leviathan as the main killer would be a HUUUUUUGE deal in this game. Supernatural fans are pretty die hard. You could guarantee they pick up literally every single skin from both the killers and the two survivors. Like....it'd be as big as having Michael Myers in this game which is already freakin huge! The fan bases are enormous. Or as big as the stranger things chapter. Huge wins on the part of Behavior and Warner if they could pull that off. Big time!

Too niche...nobody knows who these characters are. Sure shows out there that border on horror exist like Parasyte and the like but....nobody knows who the hell these people even are. They have less notoriety than B list horror villains in movies....More people have seen or know what sharknado is than know anything about horror animes....

Isn't Pyramid Head somewhat of an anime killer since the company that developed the Silent Hill series is Japanese?

No, Silent hill and Resident Evil while produced in japan have a realistic art style. Same with stuff like Ju-on and Grudge. Anime stylistically just....doesn't fit into a game like this. Not only that but the amount of iconic <---if you can even call it that, horror characters in Anime is pretty much non existent. Horror just....isn't really done in anime unless its a spoof off of some other genre that already exists. And a lot of it is so unknown, nobody would even know ######### they were looking at.

But man....if we could get the grudge and all that clicking and throat gargling....dude.... I'd buy that entire pack and skins so fast it'd look like sonic the hedgehog stole a credit card....

If the game did get a sequel, it'd have to take a big step back from the current roster size. Not only would every character have to be rebalanced for a new game environment, but they'd also have to negotiate to have each licensed killer return.

Could be tricky with the license holders, but if the license holders are already happy (I hope) then they could easily put those contracts up and reinstate them in another game that will make them even more money if done properly.

As far as games making sequels who already have established player bases.

Path of Exile 2 is coming in the future, and the way they're handling it is god damn brilliant. As well Diablo 4 is in the pipeline. Yet both titles are still having active leagues take place and active player bases.

This game could do the same thing if they have a steady enough growth. Problem is though paying for resources usually leads to a lack of resources on the older project, in POE2 on the other hand, they solved that by effectively making big changes to POE1 until a certain patch point is reached in which POE1 is then converted into POE2. <------Free of charge. Brilliant btw.

The amount of money required to make a sequel, and how similar it would be to DbD is unrealistic. Their best bet is to work with what they have and do the best they can. The only people who buy sequels of the same game are people who play CoD - it's a joke.

A joke thats made them millions upon millions, upon millions of dollars...

The problem is that you literally can't do anything against Spirit in a chase. If you run you give her scratch marks to follow so you can't leave a loop fast enough to actually get away. If she hit you she has even more tracking and you can't tell where she is ever at so there's no opportunity to even make a legitimate decision other than "oh boy I hope she doesn't go this way". Against a Huntress you can at least react and actually play the game. Not so much against Deathslinger but he sucks anyways. Spirit is way too strong for how easy it is to play her.

I mean at this rate, lets just nerf everything, remove killers from the game so its a generator repair sim.....

  • Blindness only works on the person thats downed so they cant see their allies.

Also allies can't see them outside of 16 meters.

Making it M1 only seems....pretty stupid....

Fun Fact: If you don't tunnel or camp, both DS and Borrowed Time are useless to the survivors! You should try it! (it makes them so mad when you don't let them use their perks!)

Not true, because if it was, you couldn't use it as a way to still (to this day!) use it as a way to distract the killer for 60 seconds after an unhook.

So... now that the killes have proven they are NOT going to play fair during this event, I Think We should agree That during the next event there is no reason to make things easy on the killers. You do realise They made it easy for you to get the crown so there was a chance you would play fair?

i Think during next event you should make it so all 4 survivors need to be hooked for the killer to get the event-item. i really Think it’s a ######### behavior and it kind of shows who the real toxic people here are.. Think about that next time you sit and whine about how toxic survivors are.

Whoa man calm down... When I started the event I didn't realize I could pick up one of the stones and thought I had to kill the survivor to bust it out of them....my bad, geeeze imagine telling a murderer to not murder you....GOLLY!

Well, there's the literal monsters. You could have a Djinn, for instance, although that'd probably get the game banned in certain countries.

One of the few monsters on the show I could see fit, would be Leviathan. On top of that they could finally work in one of those Disguise yourself as a survivor powers people have been clamoring for.

You're the leviathan, your power is (SFADFASDinsert) Your base form at the start of the match is a black oozy humanoid figure with an extremely low terror radius, you target a survivor similar to the way ghostface stalks, and after stalking them for a few seconds or even better you transform into a random survivor on their team instead of them, you change into them, skin and all along with the move speed adjustment. While transformed into a human you emit no terror radius. To attack a survivor in this form your mouth bursts open your movespeed picks back up and your next attack is an instant down, after hooking someone you go back into your base form. And maybe you can't transform while someone is looking directly at you for the sake of balance or something. And maybe they could play around with that theory a bit. Figure out what to do when you're not in the leviathans transformed state etc.

It could in theory be a really amazing power and noticeable character chapter from the show.

Also Leviathans considering their power level in supernatural would be the only ones I could respect getting slapped in the face by a pallet as being a valid means to slow them down.

I'd say Lilith. I mean Lucifer would obviously be bigger and probably a better choice, but if they want to avoid the religious overtones of Lucifer. Lilith would also be a female killer, which we desperately need.

    Supernatural Chapter

    Killer: Lilith

    Survivors: Sam Winchester, Dean Winchester

She looks too much like a survivor IMO. There has to be something from the Supernatural Universe thats more....Monster like....

Whenever I vs a killer with NOED they usually only get 1 down out of it. For going the entire match with 3 perks, and the possibility of it not even activating due to survivors cleansing dull totems, it doesn't seem very good.

This is true. Contrary to popular belief. By the time noED triggers, theres either 1 person already dead, 2 people already dead or god forbid 4. As soon as anyone with a brain sees the exposed effect they run for the door.

  • @USELESS said:

Just got a game when the first gen got done in literally 10 seconds and the second one in 40 seconds, it wasn't even possible since half of then where with me. I DCed in the same time cuz holy ######### bhvr, I won't play this game for a while now, it's impressive, every update is a new ######### to deal with

They'll fix gen speeds when they decide to finally fix totems so they aren't stuck out like a sore thumb. They said they were gonna do that years ago but never did. I really do think people should lower their expectations.

  • I don't really care what you bring...I'm probably gonna just franklins it out of your hand till it breaks anyway....

  • Meg: Cute little dummies, I tend to let them go a bit more than others because they Pepega themselves so hard.

    Claudette: ######### ghosted.

    Jake: Sneaky little #########

Nea: Never stops moving, has shift button stuck in keyboard, always trying to show off.

Ace: Tries hard to show off....thinks he's invisible with a giant sparkly suite on....

Laurie: Always does stuff so her team can help her or she can help her team...damsel in distress syndrome usually in an SWF.

Tapp: Overly altruistic ruiner of dreams. Always trying to sacrifice himself for his team....but its obvious that he's baiting.

Quentin: Sneaky little ######### like Jake, but they lack the quietness.

Jeff: Always with an SWF, is an opportunistic asshat at times.

Adam: The male immersed version of Claudette, who will tend to bait the killer into chasing them to set up a trap with their SWF.

Feng Min: Usually over cocky, and will ditch their teams in a heartbeat.

David: Overly cocky, always trying to take a hit, and always TOUCHING MY ######### TOTEMS DAVID IF YOU DONT GET THE ######### OFF THAT RIGHT NOW!!

Bill: Sometimes I think this old man is on drugs, because he's always trying to negotiate with the killer or sitting there thinking you won't punch him in the face, and he's always there to save his team mate and then get hooked right after.

Dwight: Absolute ######### lost idiot. He's always somewhere he isn't supposed to be, and he's always making mistakes trying to be a hot shot. Useless idiot.

Steve: What a monkey. Constantly running into walls, is always around his team when he shouldn't be. Always the first to be downed.

Nancy: Equally dumb. Will instantly start running away even if you're not aware that they are there yet. Usually wants their team to come save them after they go down. WILL DITCH THE SAME TEAM IN AN INSTANT!

Jane: Absolute belligerent ape. Always trying to be fancy, always trying to point, or booty bounce at pallets, is mediocre at looping, and will often die almost instantly after attempting to save a team mate leading to a domino effect. Stay away from her she's bad luck.

Yui: I don't think she even knows that her life is on the line tbh. She usually stays immersed even though she WEARS NEON!!!

Cheryl: Narcissistic, but also fairly decent at running away. Usually solo people.

Oh I almost forgot about Kate...like most people tend to do

Kate: Usually an E-girl. In an SWF group. Always runs dead hard....plays as if she's the female David.

Is driving a toy car in circles for thousands of hours fun?

This game is the pure definition of repetitive, despite all of the content leads you to believe. It's just adding more wool over your eyes to prevent the devs from doing ACTUAL work. Just bandages after bandages. putting more bandages over a wound does not make it heal better/faster.

What i'm saying is that there is technically no such thing as QoL changes in this game. The "changes" they do add is to just hide bigger problems from the players (and from what I see, they are doing a pretty ######### job).

The team is pretty incompetent of most things from this game, but the only thing they DO have going for them, is their design team, they are incredible. So they use that advantage to try to hide everything else.

This game is pretty comparable to drugs. Just because a lot of people play this game, does not mean they like it, or at least think it is "good", but the team uses nasty addiction tactics to keep them coming back.

So to answer the OP's question, the devs ARE working on what THEY believe is "Killer QoL changes", but it's not going to do anything in the eyes of players.

Real ######### I want a new mode.....as big as this damn player base is...I just don't understand why they haven't branched out and created a new mode...

  • @USELESS said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1373425#Comment_1373425

What I mean with the QoL changes is, reduce the amount of pallets in a certain area, do something about the gen speed because it is disgusting the way it is now, the pallet stun range that for some reason is HUGE, amount of breakable walls that you are forced to break or you will never catch a survivor, and things like PIP system for killers and the reason it is so unfair

I mean....they said they made this big ass map overhaul that was supposed to be such a big improvement from before. But then I remembered....this is BHVR. They're going to delete 1 pallet, move the walls on the exterior of the map a few inches, and say they "reworked" the maps.

My thing is, gen speed is only a factor on killers who don't have ways to slow down the game, nor do they have ways to ZOOP ZOOP ZOOM all over the damn map. So, until they address each killers approach to gen control individually, this is going to continue to be a big issue for killers, especially if you play one that just.....doesn't have that kind of control.

I'm the "You had plenty of time to save" bit lol I find myself saying that about everyone... not even if it's just myself left on hook. I could just be spectating a game and still go.. "Why did you let yourself get pushed out?" "Why didn't you go look for no-ed?" and stuff like that. We have to work together to get out and I don't like those that don't get that #saltysurvivormainrant

It really do be like that. I used to run a build, that I stopped running now because I'm ok with low rank survivors not getting rofflestomped. But I used to run a build that preyed on said altruism. Throwing monkey wrenches into the obvious state of low rank survivors who are again....a lot nicer to each other to the point of self sacrifice. But I stopped because its like....I shouldn't be punishing people for not being toxic and being team players and helping each other. I should be punishing #########. But alas....there aren't very many "punish #########" type of perks and builds. This has been my most difficult concept to put into play. How can I as a killer make a dead example of a person in a match not being a team player. How can I punish selfishness. And the honest answer was the killers themselves. High mobility nurses and spirits and billys, knock out, and franklins. None of that mattered because toxic survivors are almost dead set on killing themselves.

IMO being altruistic and saving people should be worth more than making it out of the exit gates.

  • @Brightened said:

Toxic survivors are usually more vocal I think or do the teabagging and flashlighting bit...

or maybe you mean they kill themselves off first hook or let themselves get caught...

Toxic killers is a bit different because it's understood but not "defined" (I.E. camping, tunneling, slugging, etc etc) However I have also had killers go off on me in chat after the game lol..

So which do you see more? Why?

I'm a killer main.....I see 4 people all the time compared to 1 of me. So you would think I would see more toxic survivors than killers obviously. Just due to rule of numbers. That being said though, I actually rarely see toxic survivors at lower ranks. But the closer they get to red....the more toxic survivors start showing up.

Why? Simple. Because survivor rank systems reward self preservation, not altruism. Ego vs Empathy. 2 Different characteristics 1 of which can make you depip if you fail to save someone or save someone and die in their place. People at lower ranks tend to be more altruistic than red ranks. So at the end of a match with people who are lower rank I tend to see a lot more "Sorry man I tried" and "Thanks for the save man I almost died"

Whereas in higher ranks I see a lot more "######### you dude are you stupid? You had plenty of time to save, you're trash" or "You camp and tunnel trash killer, thanatophobia is a trash perk," (Even though they died on first hook because nobody bothered to save them)

Or I see red ranks say things like, "My team is garbage, bunch of idiots and potatos"

^ I never see these comments in lower ranks...legit....NEVER! Most if not all of the people I face after resets or taking months off the game in those low ranks just...play the game. They either say GG or one of the 2 things I listed above like sorry dude I tried I almost saved you or thanks for the save dude you're my hero. ######### like that. And honestly, when I'm in those ranks I tend to let people go more often because there was no shenanigans going on in game.

Call me crazy, but given the history of indigenous people after settlers met them, putting them in a situation where they're doomed to be brutally killed forever might not exactly be the best way to include indigenous people.

As an indigenous person I would appreciate it if you didn't exclude me from a video game because of some pre-conceived notion and generalization about where we should be in a story. Everyone else gets to be characters....but we can't because of some imposed virtuous reasoning? Thats not fair, and by all accounts as racist as telling a black person that they cannot be in a film as a serial killer because of some generalization about their people.

Everyone else is getting killed and having a great time being represented in this game but I can't because I'm indigenous?

  • @Cancan71 said:

For your "make them as you see" point, I say the reason for this is the Archives. Beforehand most of the characters were blank slates, for example all we know about Meg is that he takes care of her mother and that she is sporty. Now since they are expanding on characters backstories, the old philosophy of "make them as you see" is outdated as they add more to these characters backstories.

Plus it's not like they avoid relationships before this, Nurse is a widower and David is confirmed to have a female ex in the archives. If they start adding more stories about the characters relationships then surely one of the characters would be in a same sex relationship. There are over 40 characters in the game, surely one of them is LGBT when you look at it from a statistics point of view.

Anyways no matter how they do it, as soon as they put in a gay character they are going to be accused of pandering, see the Last of Us 2.

As a side note, people on both sides of the coin are going to screech about it on the internet. That's just how the internet works. Try not to judge a group base on what you see on Twitter.

I honestly think keeping a characters sexuality in a game like this completely vague is a good thing tbh. Because it allows you to fit any of the characters into wherever you want them to be. If you think David is gay and, thats why you play him, great.......but as soon as you put a label on those digital pixels...yeah there goes the users ability to inflect or see themselves as any of the characters. If you wanna imagine Meg as a transexual....great..... but again, as soon as they label her a certain way.....welp there goes again any users ability to pick up, play, and relate to any one of the survivors.

Other games get over this obstacle by either leaving all their characters vague pixels where you can imagine whatever the hell you want them to be. OR giving the users a character creation screen where you can again...imagine and make them whatever the hell you want them to be. And by doing it this way, nobody is pushing their "agenda" on anyone because anyone can be whatever the hell they want to be. Labels can be a dangerous and restrictive thing.

  • @coppersly said:

All I can say is it's nice to play as someone you can identify with.

You've got like 6 or more straight dudes of varying backgrounds and activities. Can we can one gay guy? or girl? Would it really be so bad to have just one of them in the game?

Of course it's not going to be the focus of their character or lore but god damn I'm tired of having no characters that are gay because "do we really need it?" Well if you never include it yeah, you kinda do need it at some point man.

I agree, its not a bad idea to create characters with these backgrounds.

But it is completely lazy and pandering to retcon a character and wedge in some gay lore because you were too lazy to create a story about a gay character from scratch.... like #########. Like if you wanna go and create a character around these groups don't be lazy.... Make it fresh, treat it with respect.

We have new characters come out of this game every 3 months...... and instead of making a character where its story and theme are full and incorporate its background, lazy pandering companies will just retcon. To either save face, or again...pander.

I like the way Riot Games handled it when they released some of their more "Brown" skinned humanoid characters because they created expansive lore around it so that the world and their existence made sense. Everybody loved it, because Riot didn't just make a black character to be "black" no....they created an entire world, lore, maps, backgrounds, history, protagonist and antagonist in their universe to incorporate their worlds "melenation" and it was brilliant.

When companies do these pandering attempts and wedge in marginalized groups just to save face you should be offended, because its lazy. They didn't actually care, it was just them carving a notch on their totem pole to say "HEY LOOK WE DID IT! WE HAVE A GAY CHARACTER TOO" "LOOK AT US LOOK AT US, GIVE US VIRTUE POINTS!" without them actually putting in the effort to actually create a character, arcs, and lore based around it. Its lazy....and I hate lazy. When Blizzard did it, it was shameful. You shouldn't take hand me downs and scraps as "Representation" its lazy and disrespectful. It'd be like playing dead by daylight and assuming there were no black characters, and instead of creating a black character, they just gave Meg a brown skin....its insulting...

Similar to Ash and Bill, I think these guys would fit right into the realm of DBD. I know it’s an old show and reaching its end, but it’s so well known and think it would be awesome to include it in the game.

They'd make a ######### ton of money on that DLC like I would presume they did on Stranger Things.

  • @LethalPugy said:

I for one would be fine with them adding in a lgbtq+ character into the game or changing the lore for someone as it hasn’t been mentioned before.

The only romance we have is Wraith and Nurse with cosmetics that i don’t think are canon. Frank and Julie confirmed by the lore. And kinda nancy and steve that are exes.

Honestly if a character became gay it would firstly become more diverse and have better representation, and the gaming community lacks this.

One game that has achieved this well is Overwatch two characters are Gay, Tracer and Soilder 76. This really didn’t change anything about either of the characters and the community didn’t show any negative effects on this. It was just a fact about them.

I don’t understand why people are getting so mad over this fact. It’s a fictional character. They wouldn’t love you before.

So in conclusion I’m not gonna complain if we get a bit in the lore about someone’s ex or if we get an entirely new survivor for this either way I don’t care.

Ew....why the hell would I want to know where Hag or Trapper put their nasty parts?!? Save that for Rule 34 DBD please....

  • I just love bathing in it....all the salt, its good for the skin!

  • You're doing it wrong. You don't dodge them....no no no. When I see TTV in a survivors name, thats my queue its time to show off. Torture them, make them feel the meaning of pain and appreciate life. Bring the best tools you can muster to make sure our guests are entertained!!!

So Im playing Meg(* cough FRICKING MEG MAIN*) and I go into a game, the killer was a green rank Deathslinger. And I played the game. Well I'm the only one who got chased, and shot, but by the time he hooks me (the whole game was like 5 minutes) well when I was hooked his noed got broke. I got saved and everyone got out. But the scary part was when he messaged me after words. I play on ps4 so there is no game chat, he sent a voice message, told me how "my swf team sucks and is toxic" (there was no swf team involved) but some thing off, he sounded sad, like not your normal sad but the mental instable kind, I mean like the really REALLY depressed kind of person. I am scared for him not me, I hope he doesn't do anything bad to himself. I don't know him or anything about him, so I really can't say. I asked him if was good but he said no and that's it. I HOPE nothing bad happens. And that's it I don't what to do, like at all. Should I tell someone?

If you're concerned and wanna help them out, or feel like somethings off or that that person is just in a bad spot. If you got the resources and the time and the skill....hey....maybe a friend is what they need right now? It doesn't even have to be Dead by daylight related. Try to find out what other games they play that you share in common and go in with friends. And yes...push it. Keep nudging them into some friend games or hanging out etc. Why? Because a lot of the time when you're depressed you'll just say no to everything because you're depressed, even if its for your own good, even if it'll help you. So if someone is going out of their way to be your friend it feels good, it can break you out of a slump because you're getting some good attention that makes you feel like someone cares enough to badger you back onto your feet.

I know depression all too well, and it sucks, its painful, especially if its in combination with thoughts to harm other people or yourself. Having friends you can dish all your inner garbage to without judgement helps a lot. Giving people hope and sometimes a little bit of stoicism helps. And hey who knows, we live in the future where you can have friends for years without even seeing them face to face, who knows maybe you'll have a friend for life.

People like you who notice things like that and have the heart to help, save lives everyday....so go with your intuition....

Sure, but no. What good is that little amount of tension when it hampers gameplay. Does it really sound fun to get off a generator every time you just want to LOOK around you. Not even a survivor main, and I think it's an absurd idea. Survivors are vigilant, where killers are instead tunnel visioned on one goal, that's the point.

Also I'm implying you're talking about stealth killers like most people are. While their spooks are startling, it's kind of literally the exact OPPOSITE of tension, if you don't even know it's coming.

Yeah no. Thats great if you're dealing with a generation of people who grew up with slow building monotonous horror movies that LITERALLY TELL YOU WHEN THE SCARE IS GOING TO HAPPEN! That doesn't build tension.....people have figured out that old method of scares and its boring.... people know its coming, the music changes, the camera sits 1 special way, and its boring because you know within the next few seconds, something is gonna jump out ruining any sense of "actual tension". Actual tension should be built up in the audiences own mind, no readable camera angles, no LOOONG string quartets preparing you. The game already has an atmosphere, it doesn't need more tells than that.

The reason this game isn't scary is because of that. There's no sense of dread because YOU KNOW EVERYTHING! Its like these B list directors from back in the day that use the same techniques to scare an audience and it doesn't work time after time until they the audience is disengaged because everything is so predictable. Now tac on those same tactics to an audience that can actually control the person they're viewing and a game that gives as many "tells" as DBD does and there is no tension build up because you KNOW that its coming.

The only tension in this game from a survivors perspective comes from the chase itself because you don't know if the killer is going to down you and how soon, its left up to the human element. Before the chase starts theres nothing there....not even a little heartbeat...no pressure...nothing. Which is where you get new scare crafters that come into the entertainment business especially in movies and change that dynamic, by letting the audience build their own preconceived notions, and crashing that predictability. That leaves impact....that leaves fear. Not this 1940s dramatic over the top audio build up here it comes nonsense. New generation, new patience level, hit them when they least expect it, and let their own minds play tricks on them. In the world of horror, what worked on grandma doesn't work anymore on little timmy. He's too fast, he's too quick witted, and he has the patience level of a gnat.

  • @Peanits said:

That's not something we are looking to do. The game was built with the survivor's third person camera in mind. Forcing them to stare at a generator as they work on it would immediately make stealth killers way more powerful, since the only way to see them coming would be to stop working on the generator and scan the area to make sure it's safe, then repeating the process every few seconds. We want to reward survivors for being vigilant, and killers for being unpredictable and approaching from unexpected angles.

    What unexpected angle?

Every single one of your stealth killers gives away their position audibly when they come into range of a survivors ears except Myers while he's running add ons....And every single one of them is directional.....

Pig makes a giant roar before she jumps on someone. (not sure why that makes any sense)

    Wraith hits a giant GONG

Ghost face has a giant flag waving in the wind

    Spirit has a wind tunnel

And myers has a heartbeat unless you build him with specific items and he's in tier 1.

    "Unexpected angle"
