It was still relegated to being a console exclusive....nobody has any idea who the ######### sweet tooth is anymore because of it...

Reason why I don't want SBMM:
As a bias killer main: In tired of sweating and having to deal with and running the same perks over and over again. I want to have fun and not be stressed out and run different builds instead of the meta.
As a solo survivor, I wanna try and use use different perks instead of being glued to a gen.
Overall
The game is too unbalanced for SBMM

Since oni or maybe twins the killers suffered a huge downgrade in comparison to the top tier, like nemesis and trickester are the newest and the weakest of the game, and pinhead maybe is on this same way. For how long this will continue? Making weak killers just to not enrage the survivor entitled community. I am not a dev, but the lack of strong and creative powers will suddenly will dawn this game.
Until they figure out how to do match making in a not dumb way.

I remember back when there was at least one thread every single day on the forums that had something to do with Spirit. It was quite repetitive but ever since Spirit got bugged to where she can’t hear footsteps in phase, then the complaints are so rare to the point that everyone almost forgot about her.
So I just want to ask, why did people all of a sudden stop complaining about her? I assume it has something to do with the fact that barely anyone plays her anymore but what exactly has caused all of it to stop, for now at least?
We're all playing Blight now.

Sadly, a non-swiffer queue would split the playerbase too much, but some MMR adjustment for swiffer might work.
Then you didn't play during the time MMR was on. Games were going 50/50 in most matches. And you'd end up matched either against people your own skill level or people far above it, no weak links on teams at all. It was comical.

Infinites were removed and maps were shrunk. Those are both massive nerfs to survivors.
Infinites should have never been a thing. And having maps that only cater to (at the time) 3 killers on the entire roster SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN A THING. You can't even call those nerfs, cause at their core design out of the gate they were ######### up.

Killer is the easiest it has ever been and STILL people struggle with playing Killer.
It is impossible to make it that easy that every Killer can have easy games... The game is also not that imbalanced as people claim it to be. On the very highest Level, it is imbalanced, but 99,99% of the players are not at this level (including those who complain about it..).
I mean, its as easy as its ever been if you're only playing S tier killers. The rest of the roster has to actually sweat blood, and or be 100% proficient with the killer they pick up, and or run only meta perks and add ons on said Sub S tier killer.
The fact is on those Sub S tier killers the devs artificially skill cap you to the point where the best killer options are the ones that are uncapped or at least have a high skill cap like Nurse, Blight, Oni, etc.
If all the killer in this game were balanced around the same power level and skill cap and performance there'd be no problems with this game.
And most of the killer posts complaining about game balance come from people who aren't playing said S tier killers...

I am just hoping the devs have a console tester of some sorts and the performance won't be horrendous
I'm right there with you, he's the best killer they've come out with concept wise in a long time, and the best performing killer they've come out with since Blight. The perk possibilities are going to be outrageous.

Except no one is saying that. You are making inane assumptions/proclamations. Would a killer like a game if every survivor just afk'd? I don't think so.. at least I know I would be irritated af. The point is that AFK killers almost always result in either barely safety piping or at higher ranks - de-pipping because there are 2 emblems that get nothing for that match. Seriously.. instead of being all "boo hoo survivors this and that" think of it from a logical and unbiased point of view...if you can.
No...theres actually survivors on this forum that would like Bot killers in their matches.

When Myers pops his Tier 3 the Exposed status is revealed to all survivors. Not sure why this applies to perks but not Killer Powers.
It shouldn't apply at all tbh. They didn't start giving survivors info on hexes until way later. Now survivors have more information than the killer in most cases, so far that the newest killer they plan on adding "Pinhead" can't even see the aura of his own damn power.....
Survivors have more than enough information plus the bonus of voice coms. They don't need ######### else...

Earned or not, NOED is kinda overpowered. One way to nerf it is to make a requirement for it to work.
I think the healthiest way to do it would be to make it work only on survivors you hooked during the match.
The requirement for it to work is you have to damn near lose the match.....All 5 gens done means someone is about to escape. Thats more than enough of a requirement for an expose....hell I'd even say thats too high of a requirement because theres other ways to consistently get expose on survivors that doesn't require you to practically lose the game...

So you don't want quality survivors you want to go against noobs?
I mean....unless he wants to play Spirit, Nurse, Blight, Oni, and Hillbilly every game....yeah...you don't really have a choice. The game is beyond imbalanced for survivor side. People never saw it before cause you'd always have to carry at least 1 weak link in the chain of survivors unless it was a 4 man premade <----In which case, 4 man premades are just as oppressive as 4 solo survivors who are all 100% aware and there are no weak links in the team at all.
If the game was balanced, Killer would want nothing but 4 man premades and 4 man high skill survivors. But its not. Perspective matters, and I don't think people play enough killer to actually get the perspective. They just whine about killer and its abilities until we all end up playing low skill cap killers every chapter and all of our perks have downsides....which makes it less of a perk and more of a dogshit double edged sword. And no, I don't care what any of your local content creators say about "muh survivor nerfs" muh flashlight slowly wobbles when I aim it. Muh windows still get closed when you use them too much but why is that still in the game when muh infinite loops are gone hurrrr duuuuuuuuuurrrr.
NoED stronk even doh I gots multiple perks to delete totems hurrr duuuuuuuuurrrr.
D-strike wasn't op why you tunnel me and not let me work on gen in your face huuuurr duuuuuurrr.
The ######### I've seen from some of these survivor complains and content creators posts is absolutely mental....
Survivors have gotten so bad at this game, and asked for so many nerfs, and softened killer powers that killers are starting to get bad at the game and complain about ######### that we've never had a problem with in years....like Dead Hard...what kind of wrecked future did I wake up in where killers complain about Dead Hard....

That's now how Nemesis works in practice like at all. If you think it is, you aren't using him correctly. He is the best 'trap' Killer in the game and his map pressure is second to none. TRY doing a gen against a gen slowdown Nemesis who isn't braindead.
I've played plenty of games against him....he's a joke. Like...I'd be more scared of a trapper in a game than nemesis. His AI is absolutely braindead, figuratively and literally. His zombies have walked straight past me plenty of times while I was doing a gen. I've also seen his zombies ignore me completely, and then walk straight into Nemesis path blocking his loop. And the stats I provided are literal fact. 32 hits, and 12 hooks maximum. While other killers only have to pull off 24 hits and 12 hooks. Thats trash.....literal trash. Especially with as many second chance perks you have available to make it take even longer for him to kill anybody. So unless he tunnels and camps me on hook...I'm going to survive him a lot longer than I normally would other killers. Thats just how it is. He gives me a free sprint burst on infection, to go on top of other exhaustion perks. And when he comes back around for an M1 you get another sprint burst. So 2 sprint bursts per chase.....Listen man...I wanted nemesis to be this amazing killer too....but the truth is....he's just not it man. I can regret spending my money all I want but it is what it is. I'm not gonna sit up here and inhale a full ass tank of copium to deal with it either. It is what it is.
-
Freddy is the strongest and most oppressive licensed killer atm. Followed by PH from his counter loop ability, followed by Pig for stall and counter loops, followed by Leatherface>Demogorgon>Ghostface>Myers>Nemesis. Nemesis being the bottom of the barrel since in order to get a 4k on him you need 12 hooks, and 32 hits to 4k assuming everyone heals back to full, instead of 12 hooks and 24 hits like every other killer on the roster. Literally the worst killer in the game for that alone, can't be stated enough.

About the grab "fix" let me laugh a couple minutes. Huntress got nerfed, i don't think it's honest to pretend otherwise, her exhaustion addons were godlike even if we ignore iri heads. And you are talking about individual killer buffs btw, not the overall "generic killer" vs survivor. Plus you can't just say "1 nerf 1 buff" as if they had the same value. The BT buff for example is massive, every single match there's at least 1 bt. The demo buff on the other side you'll get to see it in one in 20 games, because that's how often you play against him. Pallet validation has been the biggest killer nerf in a long long time. Buffs on "Crowd control and no way out" (perks that almost nobody uses) compared to iron will buff, wich at least one person will be using.
The metrics you are using mean nothing and are arbritary, different nerfs and buffs have a different amount of impact in the game.
You call pallet validation a nerf.....but it wasn't. It was literally just put in to fix pallet interactions where you could get completely off the wall hits that should have never landed....
Thats not a nerf....thats them fixing the game...
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
So constant killer nerfs, right?
5.1.x brought with it Trickster buffs- which are now indisputably buffs after 5.1.x, as well as buffing killer perks "Hex: Crowd Control" and "No Way Out". Furthermore it brought with it a fix to grabs, which has been needed for a long time. Yes, pallet validation was also brought in, however this is less nerfing killers and more fixing an inequality that shouldn't have existed in the first place.
The way sound is effected by perks was buffed in the survivor's favour, that I will give. So far we're 1 for 1 on buffs and no nerfs yet.
Keys with 0 charges can now no longer open the Hatch- so there's our first survivor nerf.
5.0.x brought with it, obviously, Resident Evil- a map that is awful for both sides (so no points to either), good-ish survivor perks and good-ish killer perks (nothing meta though), and a meh killer. No points to either side. 5.0.0 did have some demo nerfs, so that's our first official killer nerf (current score is 1, 1, 1, 1; not looking good for the claim of "nothing but killer nerfs"), as well as the Franklin's change (which was a buff to all but keys- which has now been fixed), alongside the Lucky Break nerf. So that's 1 buff point to killer and 1 nerf point to survivors- they'll be getting a buff point soon.
I'll go one further back too because I cannot be bothered to do more- 4.7.x. Demogorgon got buffed- you cannot even attempt to argue it wasn't a buff- though there were also the Coldwind changes which are a survivor buff (since they somehow made them safer???). Current score of 2, 2, 2, 1. 4.7.x had more Trickster buffs, though this is slightly offset through a Twins nerf (which itself brought a Twins buff, though not enough to offset the extent of the nerf, as I'm only counting volume here I'm including it). We got a nerf to Freddy and pass to Huntress, giving her a couple of better add-ons but removing Iri Head and 90 second exhaustion- so this is both. (2, 5, 2, 3; SB, KB, SN, KN). Lucky Break got it's original buff, alongside a nerf to keys, Soul Guard, and OOO. BT was buffed, alongside Small Game and Open Handed, and Zanshin was there somewhere too. Final total for this paragraph is (6, 6, 4, 3; SB, KB, SN, KN).
And, uh, that's as far as I can be asked to go. 6 survivor buffs, alongside 4 survivor nerfs. 6 killer buffs, alongsider 3 killer nerfs. Going on the theory that a buff to one side is a nerf to the other, these can be combined into 9 survivor buffs and 10 killer buffs.
Remember, killers are constantly being nerfed.
Based on your own argument it looks like its 50/50 on both sides....so whats the point?

Just curious. Not saying that it is a "win", but if the match was fun, you had good chases and made lots of points, and two survivors escaped, would you be satisfied?
I used to think that I had to get a 4k when I played killer, mainly because of the toxic endgame chat where the survivors constantly berated me, but when I think about it, when I have 25K blood points and two kills, I'm usually happy. It only becomes frustrating when they're toxic as hell, then I want them all on hooks by any means possible.
No, a 2k to me is a tie....I'm not satisfied with ties. Either we're fightin and I win, or you win....ties just make it feel incomplete.

I’ve been crossing my fingers for this since before stranger things! I loved the first 2 Hellraiser films and think that it’ll fit so well in dbd. If it’s just Pinhead I’ll still be happy but I’d love different killer skins, I wanna be the female cenobite.
I want that as a skin. I know the focus is always around the main killer of the series....but maaaaaaaaaan...I'd insta buy some Cenobite skins.

I honestly don't look forward to original killers, cause usually they come out weird. Its hit or miss with their original designs. You got blight...who gameplay wise is pretty ingenious. But then his aesthetic would make a pretty boring horror movie. Then you got the cowboy, pretty scary aesthetic, pretty cool power. Then you got twins, great power idea, but if it was ever a movie it'd end up straight out of some weird sci fi fantasy. Then you have the Kpop star....who's power is uninspired, and doesn't even look like he belongs anywhere near the horror genre.
Always hit or miss. With the licensed chapters, they have so many expectations, I think it forces them to try harder on those than the originals.

I see one franchise with 1 decent movie, 8 flops, and then a movie nobody saw vs. a peak horror movie, an underrated classic, and a misunderstood masterpiece. Why, literally why does Trashraiser get in the game, but a golden ratio of a franchise get shafted out of its well deserved spot. Another ugly ghoul man makes it to the game, but heaven forbid someone not nightmarish to look at makes it in. Unbelievable
All I can see is that both franchises sequels sucked, but the overall audience score is what matters, where hellraiser 1 outperformed candyman. Even their sequels fall off at around the same metric.
Also interest in candyman didn't spike until 2019 when Jordan Peele dropped the script to a reboot of the film.
Also consider Hellraisers latest film milking was in 2018. Hellraiser was released in 1987, Candyman in 1992.
I mean if we're being completely honest, both film franchises have devolved into B tier garbage and barely sell enough to cover their costs.
But if we're being realistic...the Hellraiser license is far easier to obtain than the license Jordan Peel is likely entangled in at the moment until he releases his film. So I'd throw my dice at opportunity over bias.
And I mean if we're being realistic, Night of the living dead, dumpstered both of these, but its never coming to DBD. Same token, Alien franchise is a possibility for DBD and is one that completely trashes damn near every license in this game in comparison. But the likely hood of getting that signature....is low.

Now I'm not talking going head-over-heels for Survivors and using every moment as a chance to help them, but just show some friendliness where you see a scenario ripe for the picking. Just last game as Ghostface I had someone getting me to force-hook them (which I prefer over them DCing) and then I had two of their teammates down only about a minute and a half later after I stalked them both on shack gen... so I closed hatch (didn't want to have the game ending super quickly), messed around a bit, and then committed to the usual non-stalk chase. After downing them, I didn't hook them. As you may have suspected, I carried them halfway across the map to a gate. They stopped wiggling once I walked straight past two hooks, and then I let 'em get the gate.
Now, I know plenty of us do this already, but you're not sacrificing much by letting a person go or not always playing for kills. I literally spent five minutes of that game just messing around. That's what some people need to get; this is a game, and you should have fun. Now whether or not you classify being nice to Survivors as linked to that fun or detrimental to it, you cannot deny that having nice Survivors makes you happy when you get them. So, just return the favour every once and a while if you don't already.
It isn't too hard to ask. Majority of us do play for fun, after all.
Also, I can see these comments igniting with loathing for my cause and just otherwise brimming with non-related discussions, so, please, as per the forums rules... keep it civil and respectful. I appreciate it. :)

He doesn't care about what they did right. What made him a Michelin star chef is focusing on what people thought was wrong, and improving your work from there. That attitude gave him the constant drive, to improve, and perfect until he's become what he is today, with restaurants around the world, and a name in cooking thats instantly recognizable but not so high and mighty that what he creates can't be done by people who admire his work. Accessible, simple, but highly perfected.

Its not a sneak comment, you didn't provide anything constructive...didn't argue any points, and just said "give up". Honestly, not everyone have realised the monster that Behaviour created.
Blight has the best map control of the game by far and he only loses to Nurse at chasing.
To me the only advantage of Spirit is that she is good on any map basically. Is she that good at chasing? Yes, but sincerely it's most because people don't put much effort at playing against her. Besides this, she's much more reliant at perks and addons.
Blight makes old Hillbilly look like a D tier killer. And makes spirit look like C tier. The height of blights skill ceiling is up there with nurse, putting him so far ahead of spirit she's not even worth mentioning.
The reason why you don't see many blights though is because of his skill floor. But in actuality he's probably the second strongest killer in the entire game, 1st being nurse. But as with anything in this game, you won't see those results in real time because most of the player base is incredibly bad at the game or anything requiring thought. So instead you get dumbass posts saying spirit is OP, or that Nemesis is one of the best killers in the game. Its like watching kindergarteners debate about the top speed of a car saying the red one is faster because it looks cool....but in actuality they're comparing a red ford taurus against a pink lamborgini aventador.

I still prefer things that make me more powerful rather than stalling the game, but i do kinda like that such a Perk can do this chore for you.
Probably why i have a bit of a bias towards Surge: Can be quite unreliable due to where you do the downing, but it's still neato.
Now Ruin letting you do your own thing & that it does the job twice as efficient as well makes it far more than just a QoL Perk, but it's specifically that QoL aspect what i kinda like about it.
Too bad Survivors can take it away, but oh well.
Thoughts on Hex: Ruin?
I hate it.
Killers as a whole with the exception of a few like Pig, Doc, and Plague, NEED EXTRA TIME. The fact that its gated behind this perk instead of fixing the damn game is embarrassing. I hate the perk...its either up all game and oppressive. or up for 5 seconds and you wasted a perk slot. Its stupid. I don't run it, and I encourage other killers to not run it...unless they have the misfortune of playing high time set up killers like trapper and hag. I'm not a fan of the state of hexes in the first place tbh. Most of the hexes in the game are strong, but theres a good amount of hexes that shouldn't even be hexes because the effect isn't powerful at all. They need to do a full on balance pass of all the hexes and either make them strong enough to deserve a hex spot, or remove the damn hex requirement.
But as far as ruin is concerned....Its absolutely disgusting that the perk even has to exist because of how bad the team is at balancing the game with all killers being viable, instead of having a good amount of them being strapped into Ruin Which has been the most used god damn killer perk in the game save NoED. Its actually embarrassing that the balance of the game hasn't been addressed so that ruin doesn't have to exist...

No man....you don't need the items. Every item in this game can be played with a perk and you can go into a match and be completely itemless yet have all the powers of having an item....the one exception is a key.
You wanna repair fast as if you had a toolbox, theres a perk for that. Wanna heal fast, perks for that. You wanna blind the killer, theres a perk for that. You wanna know where all the hexes and gens are, theres a perk for that.
Losing your mind because your flashlight got knocked out of your hand when you can produce infinite flash grenades with a single perk is wild....

It is annoying it's an items we bought in bloodweb and that we decided to bring as our help imagine if I could smack killers weapon out of hands? He can't hit survivor right? Same as I can't heal with no medkit because someone else randomly smacked it out of my hand perk is fine but by far it's most obnoxious one in my book at least
Look at this way:item+add on+add on
Price in total:10-20k bp and wasted because killer smacked me randomly
And with current gain 20k bp takes us whole match to earn
Stop crutching items so hard and that wouldn't be a problem.

Does every Killer need to buffed into Opression land?
Trickster and Nemesis come to mind as recent examples.
Trickster certainly wasn't OP and why can't that be ok. All he really needed was a fix to his Chase interactions while throwing knives so you wouldn't de-pip. His ranged ability shuts down a lot of looping options. He's weak indoors, or was.
Nemesis is pretty balanced in my opinion, certainly not OP and, unique being the first Killer with AI.
Do we really need to buff every Killer that can't ZOOM across the map or one hit down?
Its either Make killers that can perform or nerf survivors....
MAKE YOUR CHOICE...

Do you think it would work?
Wrong game, it would work for Identity V though.

Iridescent Umbrella Badge
Survivors are inflicted with the Exposed status effect for 12 seconds when using a Vaccine.
Can someone explain how this is supposed to be used? it seemes pretty weak for an Iri addon. i think its to stop survivors from vacanating right infront of you but usually survivors who do that are injured anyway, plus ur tentacle's a special attack and won't down exposed survivors so there's not alot synergy with his ability and addon.
Its supposed to be a gimmick add on to go with Jill sandwich....except the devs forgot to add "Reveals survivors aura for 12 seconds after using a vaccine".
Because the devs are bad at making addons that synergize with the same character you're using them with.....
So the ultimate answer to your question is.....there is no point....

That doesn't help anymore. Yesterday I had 5 occasions where I hit them with basic quick attack, and 5 times they dead harded through that. Especially with that tech that allows a survivor to dead hard straight through the killer. You are literally at his butt, you click M1 (not lunging), and he is instantly behind you without getting hit. How do you counter that?
.....
Bruh......
You aim....down....

Pretty much any Killer on the roster without mobility to get around the map quickly has to proxy camp for pressure.
It’s not bad or cheap or low skill. It’s just how those Killers are designed. Examples are Trickster, Hag, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head, Pig, Ghost Face, Trapper, Bubba and Plague. No map mobility simply means they can’t afford to patrol large areas if they want to play optimally.
Not gonna lie....this is pretty much true. And extremely hard to avoid on some killers. Between the time it takes you to get to another person or patrol a gen, you get 2 choices...either say somewhat within response range to the hook in case someone insta saves....or pretend nobody is there and purposefully throw the match by trying to get as far away from the hook as possible. Most people will pick the first option if they can't teleport half across the map to start a distant chase.

But IM the Rank 18... the survivors are Rank 5. They arent smurfs and neither am I.
Because you can be a rank 1 survivor and queue up survive with friends with your rank 20 buddy and ruin a match.
Its BHVR's matchmaking. IMO if you're a rank 1 trying to get into your friends fresh made rank 20 or whatever matches it should automatically throw your premade up against a rank 1 killer.

Seriously, it's ridiculous how this perk just gives survivors not one, not two, but several extra lives per game! It's a second chance perk, like DS, UB and BT, but if DS and UB only work once per trial, this "Press E to Win" nonsense can be used and abused basically every chase.
It's one of the most overpowered and unbalanced perks. If survivors have an ability to get extra life per every chase, at least give killers a perk which grants one instant down per chase too or something.
Why would you nerf dead hard?
I know survivors get on here crying about useless stuff all the time...but crying about dead hard....is severely out of character for killers....
My dude....just walk up and quick hit them without lunging....
