Nothing at all- we didn't want to put an update out until it's ready. There were some issues we needed to sort out first and we figured it was better to push the release back a little than force it out ASAP. Sorry if this is disappointing.
Just curious here, were the issues related to loss of progress? I understand if you aren't at liberty to reveal that information.
-
Okay, good to know this is a bug. I genuinely thought the college pressure had cracked this egghead.
That being said ,the fact that this has remained unresolved is likely just temporary. Hopefully we'll get a hotfix after the Archives launch.

I play everyone except Nurse and Spirit.

You must need to be right up in their face then because in circumstances where I catch someone going for a terrible save. Borrowed time always seems to be enough to give them time to not take more than 1 hit from my saw.
@ASurvkillivorer Well, yeah, that seems about right. I guess what I'm saying is that when you see people running to the hook, chase them to the hook and rev during the unhook animation. Most farmers will take the 1000 pts even if they can't get the token for WGLF so it's a decent strat.

Specifically, I'm talking about survivors that, when caught in an open area, will run around erratically like a crazy person to avoid getting hit. I sometimes end up losing a lot of time to this, and I'm wondering if there's some sort of trick to put a stop to it.
@Monlyth Well for starters you could main Leatherface, that'll get 'em out of your face real quick. Jokes aside though, there are some tricks and perks that can help.
For techniques, try walking backwards for half a second or so briefly then lunging. By walking back you give the survivor room to move towards you and show weakness or fear. Now that survivor thinks that you're retreating they'll move aggressively only for you to smack them if they fill the void you made.
For perks, Unrelenting might be a good choice until you get used to hitting juking survivors. However, if you're on console, consider hooking up a keyboard to your console if you can to have more rigid and controlled movement.

I just wish this game had a chase indicator for whoever's getting chased not just the obession
Honestly, just give whoever's being chased a "Red Stain" effect in the HUD, that'll show survivors when an ally is being chased and let killers know who they're chasing when their match is a clone war.

Lol lets also make leather immune to borrowed time. While were at it lets make it so deadhard and balanced dont activate in a matcha gainst leather.😂
Yeah leather SUCKS I made a topic about him yesterday. Lets start with giving him some real add ons. Or make it so you don't have to be clueless to ever get hit with his chainsaw.
Leatherface actually already counters Borrowed Time if you're close enough to the hook. You can get two hits in easy chewing through the endurance effect like it's barely there.
-
@GrootDude Yo, Chad Bubba main, we need backup over here!
-
Look, run Thrilling Tremors and Play with Your Food on Leatherface. The speed boost will help you shut down loops faster and keep the pressure one.
Additionally, doesn't Leatherface have Knockout, you know, the go-to perk for slugging? What's stopping you from actually using one of his perks and slugging survivors for 60 seconds after you down them from the hook rescue?
-
People don't seem to truly fear the killers anymore. If you play in first person you'll be able to see just how massive killers are. Besides, killers have been playing in first person for years and if the FOV is freely adjustable (or naturally wide as killer with Shadowborn) it would make a great addition to the game.
-
I watched Seananners and the boys play it. That got me interested right away.
-
@Dr_Loomis I mained saboteur Jake as my first survivor in 2017.
It took me a solid 2 weeks to realize that the hooks were respawning.
-
I usually don't play killer at red ranks anymore. The queue time is just too long at yellow ranks. So I can't even get up there anymore.
-
I only dislike tunneling really. I play on PC so if I start getting camped or slugged I can just queue up a video to watch and wait for the match to end. Tunneling however drives me nuts. Especially when my only crime has been existing on the map.
-
You need to have two portals placed and then look at the portal you want to travel to while standing on the a portal.
Does that help?
-
I'd change the word from "Exposed" to "Vulnerable". Sure it's not as hard hitting, but exposed sounds more like a visual debuff than the actual debuff's effect.
-
@dbizzle *Meanwhile Emetephobes are falling over each other in the corner*
-
@xKatarina If you bought the game on Steam and therefore are playing on PC then I know what your problem is. On PC killer is a very popular role due to the fact that killers are easy to control and feel similar to FPS games. So, a lot of people choose to play killer over survivor because they feel they get more points from killer then survivor.
So basically, there are just too many people trying to play killer at once and not enough people trying to play survivor so a ton of lobbies are made, but almost none of them get filled.
-
I voted for Spirit mainly because I haven't been scared in Dead by Daylight for a while. However, when I loaded into a match with NM and OoO a few days ago,I was thoroughly spooked when I learned the killer was Spirit.
-
@AshleyWB Slow down there, as @Fibijean stated your "mystery as to what you will get " is pretty much a loot box. By the way, if you haven't been following the news lately the United Kingdom has suddenly got a lot of legislation against lootboxes going through parliament. The European Union is starting to follow suit in Belgium while in the United States Congress the issue is a new bill that has bi-partisan support.
So while you might like "surprise mechanics" I sure as shoot don't with the 1000 cell price tag and with all of the legal stuff happening now it might create legal issues for BHVR if they brought in "Surpise Mechanics".

I hate to say it @LastResort554 , but David King’s non-existent sexuality should stay exactly the way it is. Behaviour Interactive is a company, and a company must make smart business choices. Declaring David King a homosexual man has several negative consequences that outweigh any gains such a decision might have.
I.) Declaring David King’s sexuality will create a divide with people who play him.
- Right now, people of all sexualities play David King. They can all also interpret his lack of an official sexuality anyway they like. This lets all of the David King fans be content with the character and any cosmetics they have purchased for him.
- If David King is given just one specific sexuality this creates two problems:
- People who play David King and are not his new official sexuality could very easily be upset by the change to say the least.
- These new upset individuals could also then target individuals of the new sexuality. “, If you <insert slur here> hadn’t whined so much my boy would still be <insert sexuality here>!”
- So in order to ensure the maximum number of future David King cosmetic sales as well ensuring a relatively small amount of unrest regarding David King (We’re Gonna Live Forever abusers already draw hate to him).
II.) “, It would mean the world to us if we could just have one character who we can say "this game shows us pride, respect and love.” Might not be so true.
- You claim that having David King’s sexuality officially declared as homosexual would make the LGBTQ community happy, however this might not be so.
- David King is a survivor, this means that he is routinely attacked and killed thousands of times everyday.
- I’d argue the LGBTQ community might not like their representation in Dead by Daylight to be an eternal murder victim.
- I’d argue that some LGBTQ people might not find it very “respectful” if their “representation” is a person who is already held in a negative view by the community.
- David King’s Teachable perks have attracted a lot of attention over the years.
- Survivors complain about We’re Gonna Live Forever users farming them off of hooks.
- Killers constantly complain about Dead Hard being another “extra chance perk” that survivors abuse at high ranks (by stacking 4 extra chance perks together to be absurdly difficult to kill.
- The majority of the community views No Mither as a joke perk and as such refuse to take it or people running it seriously.
- Additionally, David King’s cosmetics are quite popular as well
- The “Shirtless David” cosmetic was first just a viral meme until it finally happened. Though it was still regarded as a meme.
- Given all of the above reasons, David King is seen by some as a joke character.
- I am not too certain that the LGBTQ community would enjoy their “representation” being on a character that is in general seen as a joke (Shirtless David memes, No Mither memes) or a jerk (Dead Hard dependent casual, WGLF hook farmer) in addition to my earlier statement of him being an eternal murder victim.
- Additionally, the recent media has been known to twist information and nitpick details.
- If David King was made a homosexual character news organisations might use his eternal victim status (as a survivor) to sling mud at BHVR interactive.
- Alternatively, the media could just report on the massive outrage that would come from some of the non-homosexual David mains and use that information to bad mouth the Dead by Daylight community (which isn’t too hard already, tbh.)
I understand that you want representation @LastResort554 , but there’s just too much risk for BHVR if they made such a change to David King’s lore. Besides, you stated: “When I play survivor, I only play David King, because for some reason he resonances with my heart and soul . . . I even have his rose tattooed on my neck. . . “ You clearly already like David King now, so I fail to see why not adding a cherry on top would ruin your sundae. I know you might want David King to be made officially gay, but it’s just not in BHVR’s best interests to do so at this time.

I am a gen rusher, but only do it so that the game can end. Heck, most of the time I do a gen to 99% and then leave for another one.
The exception is when I am facing a Spirit. If I am facing a Spirit I switch from, making sure that the game can end favorably for me to:
M A X I M U M O V E R D R I V E
Spirits sure as shoot never show any mercy so neither will I when facing them.

As a last resort, if you lose someone in the corn just stop moving. Then when you see corn stalks moving around you'll find the survivor again. Best case scenario they think you're about to DC ('cause you stopped) and will come back to t-bag you.

Guys, I think you've all overlooked the wording of the news. Yes the serums will be obtained through the rift. However, the rift lasts a while.
As you can see by this screenshot you have noticeably more time than just one week. If the rift starts with all 54 days when it releases you'll have 54 days to earn the cosmetics and and extra 14 days to choose what to spend the serum on. In the event that 54 days is an inaccurate preview that was skewed by the date of the first post then after some quick math (original post was posted on 10/8, event starts 10/22 so that's 12 days later, 54-12=42).
So, you should have somewhere between 54-42 days to grind for the serum unless I've misinterpreted this.
@Peanits Can you confirm or deny my math here? I want to be certain on how long the serum gathering window is so that I do not accidentally mislead people.

@Avocet yes grind will be so much longer also how will u get all 5 outfits in short time event on, bet they make they make premium version of the pass net you probably like double/triple the needed serums 😑😑 give us money is all im seeing i dislike battle passes they should only be for ftp games not a paid game which already has overpriced outfits just my imo, the future of this game looking bleaker but when u have dev who only see $$ signs and a bad communication with players base not much u can do
You were never intended to get 5 whole skin sets. The devs will let you unlock 2 whole sets or 6 pieces.

The only add-on that I feel is OP is the Huntress's Iridescent Hatch Head, but only when combined with a belt.
When the add-on is used alone (unlikely) or with any other Huntress add-ons (Equally unlikely) I have no problems with it. It's just when Xx_DuMmYtHiCcHiTbOxEsGiTgUDnUuB_xx runs over with 3 insta down projectiles and wipes 75% of the team from 12-24 meters away that I have issues.
Everything else I'm actually cool with.
-
Don't get me wrong, I'll help the team as best I can. However, the only way I can really help the whole team escape is by doing gens. If the gens don't get done then in the best case scenario only one of us escapes.

Then I guess it's better to just delete them from the game. They are not fine for the game as they are right now.
Working on 2nd Hook is a clear nerf but at least it's a much fairer game. There might be a better way to adjust them, personally I think the Mori should be adjusted to work on 2nd Hook but give a massive Bloodpoint bonus or something.
Moris still get around things like Decisive Strike, so it's not completely useless.
You know what, I think you've had the best idea yet for a mori rework. The concept of only letting moris work after the second hook has been said endlessly, but the compensation for the reduced lethality has never been discussed. The only question I have is what amount of BP would you then award killers for killing a survivor via mori?
-
I'm gonna be real here. I see no problems with a mori by themselves. I play both killer and survivor and generally when people get mori'd they usually seem kinda happy to be honest. It's a change from the normal hook death animation after all.
Honestly I think moris are fine. After all you can't be killed if the killer can't find you so after you've been hooked once just be careful. I can't tell you how many time being aware of my surroundings has helped. (Except when I used to play Jake Park, completionist Bubbas give me flashbacks.)
-
I only use the term "sweaty" at the start of the match. If I see a killer offer any of the "Shrike Wreaths" I'll mutter something about the killer being extra aggressive this match.
(The Shrike Wreaths grant extra BP for sacrifice events. Like hooking and killing survivors.) So I generally associate Shrike Wreath killers with people who will tunnel folks off the hook and slug for the 4k. Not that there's anything wrong with that. It's just a little bit of a nuisance when you're just trying to grind BP for your killers as a survivor.
-
I always use it but I run a medic build o Quentin so I have Botany as well.

Getting Undetectable with Frenzy will actually hurt Legion, because the Killer Instinct they get after applying Deep Wounds is based on their Terror Radius. No Terror Radius = no Killer Instinct.

I welcome the loss of the ability to hit survivors while they are hooked. Now killer attacks will be more accurate than before, making them stronger and scarier.

We know she stole her jacket but that's about it. Hell we don't know if the sweater she steals is a sophomore one or if she's the actual sophomore.
Even then I doubt she's older than Julie who is a senior and roughly about 17 or 18

I switch between Quentin and Jake so I'll grab Jake for sure. Then I guess I'll go for the Plague. I play some Darkest Dungeon occasionally so I really like the Halloween Head Cosmetic for Plague as it makes her look like an enemy from Darkest Dungeon.
If I decide I don't want the rest of Plague's Halloween set I'll probably grab Clown's to make a TR debuff clown build to really mess with Coulrophobes.

To be honest, Im pretty dissapointed by this. I understand being "fair" towards players who did not buy the battle pass, but I think that the dedicated players deserve SOMETHING more than casuals. I may be entitled or whatever, but that's what makes the Battle Passes so tempting and satisfying in other games, the feeling of getting something other people won't have. Atleast for me ... What do you think ?
Actually, if you examine the official Dead by Daylight website you'll see that only "most" of the cosmetics will be released to the store, so a few will be exclusive. Also, I may be mistaken but I thought the charms were exclusive themselves?

Well now that you mention it, I suppose that the cosmetics are optional . . .

Honestly I've been so happy with Behavior lately with the Freddy rework, with the tile shifting maps, with updated lighting, with Scream and Stranger Things chapters, the last 4 cosmetic sets... they've been killing it.
The rift looks amazing. I was one of the detractors a few months ago but they've made me look the fool. I'm gladly going to pay ten bucks every rift (even if I get the track done I'm still going to pay cash) because they've ######### earned this.
The ONLY 2 things left to fix imho for the game to be perfect is reducing bp costs in the bloodweb to alleviate grind and slightly increase the charms size for survivors.
They don't want to make the charms too big, then they'll hurt your stealth game.
-
@Endstille Look at it this way, the premium pass is $10.00 USD plus tax. Where I live, minimum wage is $13.00 USD an hour. So even in states where minimum wage is $8.00 USD that's either less than an an hour's worth of pay or a little over an hour's worth of pay.
Is it a wise investment? No. However, spending $10.00 USD dollars on a video game has got to be one of the least harmful ways to spend USD. We're not buying vapes or drugs or fueling some substance addiction, nor are we doing anything illegal. It's not pay to win either as the cosmetics are just that, cosmetics. This is a wholesome healthy transaction between some slasher fans and some slasher fans that made something of themselves and launched a three year strong multiplayer horror title.
Sure monetisation in video games is boring. However, compared to EA and Microsoft BHVR (at least the Dead by Daylight team) has been nothing but a bunch of saints.
I understand where you are coming from, but we asked for dedicated servers and those take steady revenue to keep running. Sure BHVR has a lot of money now, but who knows what the future holds. It's good to have a steady income whether you're a company or a person.

Where did you read this? I've been searching for lore and stories but it's hard to find.
If you look on the Dead by Daylight wiki you'll see that Vigo has his name on several different things.
For items, the Engineer's Toolbox has a Vigo quote in its description.
For offerings Vigo has his own shroud that when burned causes survivors to spawn as far away from the killer as possible. Vigo also made a jar of salted lips for, some reason.
Going back on the data while it is only implied that Vigo made the hatch, he was the first person to document finding it.
A summary of Vigo is that he was studying the Entity and it's realm had a lot of gear and knowledge in the realm, and then he vanished. If the Alchemist isn't a new killer then it's still very likely Vigo as Vigo knows more about the Entity's realm than anyone else.
