  • @Ihatelife I'm always happy to see another Legion on the forum! Though if it isn't too much to ask could you dial back the Legion pin usage? I swear I see it on every post you make nowadays.

  • We betting? I'm betting all my shards on us getting Bunny Feng Min.

If you have a good aim you won't need to keep firing.

You have 1000 every minute, and can take back the shots you miss. Every second of firing is 200, so let's say this weapon shoots a bullet per second, that's 5 bullets. If this weapon has a higher fire rate the bullets will be many more.

The average sub-machine gun fire rate is between 900 to 1200 RPM (Rounds Per Minute).

Let's say that the Spendthrift has a fire rate of 900 RPM. That equals to 15 rounds per second which, having 5 seconds to shoot, equals to 75 rounds per 5 seconds.

This is why I think it can be OP

I decided to go in depth because I love guns :3 (Even tho I never shot one, damn Italian laws T^T)

I like the idea, it's really unique :)

@LCGaster Okay, well on top of what I thought was a good ammo restriction we must be mindful of survivor immunity frames. Corrupt Purge for example cannot be used in one steady stream to quickly down a survivor. So I assumed that the power of the gun would function similarly.

I guess I will reflect on the BP values and run those changes by you later.

We know the devs don't like OP killers so if you ever really want a chance of this becoming reality we need some more balance.

  • @LCGaster How exactly would it be OP? You spend 200 BP PER SECOND as ammunition and there is a cool down after a successful hit so that you can't gun down people in the open.

I'd imagine the default TR would be made larger on the killer that gets this as well.

Well, if it is the Feng bunny kigurumi one, I'm all for it.

@GlassComet99 You know, that actually would make a lot of sense, what with Easter coming up. Is it finally Bunny Min time?

  • Just gonna leave this here:

That.....would be really really really SAD and bad from them.

@Milordo Aye, but it's not something they wouldn't do.

The surprise is gonna be dedicated servers. Wanna bet?

I'm all in with my iridescent shards that they are actually just going to release another cosmetic set and call that the "surprise".

  • @Harkonnen I support this. This is a good idea.

  • @Jimsalabim said:

it would be extremely silly if a killer could open the doors whenever he wants. It would be abused too i'm sure, if a killer is salty he just opens it to force everyone out. This would be the end of DBD.

I figured as much. Just wishful thinking on my part I suppose.

  • @Masta In the video it was said clearly that the survivor and killer can open powered exit gates.

  • Hoo boy, basement memes, my favorite!

  • ",I swear whenever I see someone with Pharmacy I just lose it. That perk is OP and you CANNOT tell me otherwise!"

  • @Incirion The reason Legion was "nerfed" was because he had too many flaws.

All of the changes where done to counter the exploits.

Deep Wounds not draining in TR was to fix the moonwalking exploit.

A missed frenzy attack canceling Feral Frenzy was to fix the "spam attack to move faster in Feral Frenzy" exploit.

The "cannot activate Feral Frenzy unless power meter is full" was to make pallet stuns more rewarding.

Finally, Feral Frenzy not draining the Deep Wounds timer was done to counter the garbage Legions who only spammed Feral Frenzy and never even tried to m1.

The changes to Legion were to make playing against them more tolerable and not an exploit fest.

Though I will agree that the Plague's nerfs were pure BS.

  • @Galklife said:

if you think looping is problem(as killer) that means you have less than 500h on killer or you dont want to learn how to play around it and just press W

most killer mains forgot its MULTIPLAYER game, and those 4 survs aint bots that exist to help them feel better by dying instantly, if you dont want to play vs ppl that are getting better and better just play SINGLEPLAYER games on easy mode ... (because normal might be too hard)

but dont worry devs ballanced this game for you killer mains now most games are 3vs1 so you wont get genrushed that easly aint that great for you, killer mains that dont know how to play this game? i hope you enjoy 3vs1's before devs will fix that and you will back to playing unballanced 4vs1 Kappa

I don't think looping is a problem. I just think it's depressing. It really says a lot about how boring the role we need the most players for is when folks find it more fun to deliberately start chases with the killer then actually work towards the objective that let;s them "win".

  • @TreemanXD Right, as long as you don't spend the entire match as the only person I find you'll be good.

  • @TreemanXD HEY! They buffed the auras across all tiers. Now I will always know where the exits are.

  • It's real simple folks, if you don't want to get screwed, don't go into the basement.

If you complain that you walked willingly into a choke point that you chose to walk into, that's just sad.

Though now I wonder, will the basement get crazier in the end-game state? It IS the area where the Entity is closest to the trial as a whole. Can't wait for the evil strobe effects!

  • @Hoodedfengm1n Perfection.

Just imagine if the game was hyper realistic:

A survivor is tea-bagging at the gate.

As the killer draws in they keep tea-bagging but the ground shakes and they slip and twist their ankle.

As they desperately crawl towards the exit barrier they feel a sharp pain up their leg as the killer forcefully grabs their shin. As they begin to get pulled back into the trial . . .

  • @Larcz If you think I'm calling for a NOED nerf, relax. I was just curious as to it's effects in the new end-game.

Totems were always a secondary objective. Survivors just refused to do them and refused to deal with the consequences.

@Orion I know that totems have always been a secondary objective, part of me just thinks that suddenly these little bones will be taken much more seriously.

  • Can the killer open the exit gates whenever they want during a trial or just when the exit gates are powered?

  • @Heroiq It will be not bannable. Sure it's cheap but the survivors are not forced to DC so it is an accepted strategy.

So from now on, take extra care to not get cornered, eh?

  • @Delfador said:

@Peasant Not queen said that a lot of endgame perks have been changed.

@Delfador *Squeals and excitedly stomps my feet like a stereotypical teenage girl at a slumber party despite being a man.*

  • I already was loving the presentation of everything in the trailer, as well as the potential for killers being able to surrender.

But as time goes on and I reflect on Freddy Krueger's perks I just get happier and happier.

    Imagine Fire Up now.

  • Also can I just say how much I love the fact that they had Dwight hiding in the locker for that bit.

It gave me flashbacks to the Smash: Ultimate Snake bit.

  • Wait a sec. I think killers can surrender now! Look carefully at what happens at 0:32.

Four generators remain and all 4 survivors are alive, yet a door is powered and the end phase has begun.

I think killers really can surrender now.

What are your thoughts @PhantomMask20763 ?

  • @PhantomMask20763 said:

@Bongbingbing Woah woah woah, hol up. The killer can open the gates now? Where did it say that?!

  • Honestly the best perk for countering Legion is Spine Chill. You see, it takes Legion a while to actually get close enough to stab you with Feral Frenzy unless they are smart and start it near you.

So, use Spine Chill as your lookout since it triggers when the killer is looking at you within a 36 meter radius. If the perk lights up for more than two seconds start running in a straight line and build distance. Just stay aware and run away the second you see them. This wastes their time and forces them to either slowly catch up with their 4.4m/s movement speed or waste their Frenzy trying to catch up to you.

If you can't run away from Legion then by all means do what @C00lkid909 suggested and go for stuns. Stuns drain the full power bar and completely freeze them while the stun animation plays. Furthermore, if they stand still at the pallet it means they are planning a vault with Frenzy. Just bait them into a missed swing and they'll have to wait until the Fenzy cooldown stun ends before they can hope to try to vault again which gives you even more time.

Finally, there's a simple way to counter the braindead Frenzy spam Legions: flashlights, Iron Will, and stuns.

Step 1: - Stun Legion at a pallet to completely deny them the Frenzy vault ability.

Step 2: - Blind them while they can't vault to shut off their vision.

Step 3: - Hide and evade the Legion's fov to successfully lose them. (Maybe use Quick and Quiet to vault over the pallet you stunned them with and sneak right under their noses?)

You see, most Frenzy Spam Legions are awful at the game on levels that are simply unheard of. They are so dependent on completely ignoring obstacles and staying on your posterior like a pair of bloomers that the minute you completely lose them they are hopeless.

As I guy who play's Legion as they were intended, I hope this helps!

  • Do these survivors actually have brains, I'm genuinely curious. Do they seriously think that Behaviour won't check to see what add-ons were used during the trail?

Ugh, looks like the devs will need to threaten false reporters with bans as well.

  • When I play killer I want you as the survivor to be uncomfortable. I want you to be afraid. I want to feel powerful, like I'm a threat. My established goal as a killer is to sacrifice survivors to my elder goddess in a dark ritual.

So when I see a Nea in a leather jacket charging straight at me named Cocktimus Prime that has no fear and prefers to be near me I see a problem. The area directly around the killer is called the "TERROR RADIUS" and yet unless I play Doctor people actually want to be in the terror radius!

I'll be real here: I'd love to play some Trapper. Roam the trials as the OG killer, watch folks stuggle helplessly in a bear trap as I march towards them. However, if I do that I'll have a Dwight dry hump my right leg while a Meg rubs up against my left leg. All while a Nea, Feng, or Claudette is running in circles around me while across the map some Bill, Tapp or Quentin grumbles while doing most of the generators alone.

I've seen a lot of folks complain when I play Doctor or Legion, but I have to play as these guys just to get some gameplay where survivors act scared. Both killers help me in a chase while also causing everyone else to beat it, otherwise they get madness or mending problems.

I don't want survivors to stand still, but it'd be great if you guys didn't feel so comfy near me.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    DISCLAIMER:

Cocktimus Prime is not an actual Dead by Daylight player username I have ever encountered in standard play. My only connection to the name is that I saw it in an IGN article about the launch of Fallout 76 a year or so back.

I guess your point isn't half bad, but don't you think it will be very dull, as his power just keeps you injured and forces you to hold M1 whilst you mend

@No_Cluie_Louis The devs don't care about how annoying holding M1 is. All the Legion rework was intended to do was fix the exploits and force Legion players to use Feral Frenzy to weaken survivors before going in with 4.6m/s for the kill.

Legion's real strength is just stalling. They're now a M1 killer who's power is to let them stall the game, giving them time to M1.

  • @No_Cluie_Louis You could always use it as a jumpscare build. Start in punishment and sneak around. Once you see someone switch to treatment and cover half of the map in your TR.

  • @No_Cluie_Louis I found these on the Steam Forums so take them with a grain of salt.

    Standard terror radius = 32m

    PERK: Distressing = +26% (+8m)

PERK: Monitor and Abuse = +8m (while in a chase)

    ADD-ON: "Calm" - Carter's Notes = +8m (in treatment mode)

ADD-ON: "Calm" - Class II = +4m (in treatment mode)

Though if you want to know what a great Doctor perk is get Discordance from Legion. Knowing where 2 survivors are helps you spread madness much faster.

  • @tt_ivi_99 Isn't he the guy that handicaps himself then complains when he can't win because he handicapped himself?

  • Good Lord that was a long read!

Anyway to answer the OP I believe that the developers prioritise survivor issues because of their severity.

A standard match of Dead by Daylight has 4 survivors and 1 killer. Regardless of how the actual game loads in, you NEED 4 survivors to start a game as killer.

So, if a problem arises that affects survivors it is fixed earlier than killer issues because it will logically affect a greater number of players (80% of every match). Furthermore, as I stated above, you NEED 4 survivor players to start a game vs 1 killer player. By focusing on fixing issues affecting the majority they increase the odds of both sides getting games often.

I understand that the 1 killer player is needed, however common sense dictates that 4 people are more than 1 person. In terms of fixing bugs and mechanics it makes sense to keep the majority happy so everyone can keep playing.

This logic is why the game isn't some murderfest or rampage simulator like some might have expected on the killer side. If killers are made too strong then nobody will want to play against them. Then the killer buffs will ultimately doom them because now they can't even play with their new buffs.

I know that there were times where it was disgusting. The "Dark Times" and "Howling Grounds" are a few excellent examples of sheer nonsensical power in the hands of survivors.

However, times have changed and now things are balancing out, finally! Sure MoM is now a perk combined with DS and Deliverance to punished the killer for playing. Sure new tank squads have become the meta at the high ranks. However, excluding these scenarios, the game has been getting closer and closer to balance.
