Had 3 games in a row where the game takes forever to load then closes because 1 of the 4 survivors dc'd. Two times it was trickster and once was spirit. Its seriously irritating since survivor ques are already so long.
For those who don't know the tip screen that scrolls by for survivors will sometimes give you "tips" for the killer your about to face.
It's only first few times you see who it is. After that its nothing.

Weird to announce it so far ahead of time.
They're being open and honest about expectations and timelines. I think its a smart move on BHVR management tbh.

I think its good for maps with non usual spawn for survivors (i.e. Haddonfield) and for killers with high mobility that can get to the survivors quickly. I think Nurse, Wraith and Spirit can take great advantage of LP. I think in general you will need more longevity since you are working 1 perk short all match. LP/Corrupt Intervention/BBQ/NOED. this will give you a stronger early game, some longevity with BBQ and a back up strategy with NOED.
I like playing as Doctor, Demo and Myers. I use Whispers very effectively so I don't see the value of a perk that lasts 10s. If they run Distortion or OoO then your perk got countered.
-
Depends on day/mood. Usually an hour maybe 1.5 hours on weekend. I do try to do at least 1 killer/1 sutbivor match when I play to get shards.
But I feel the event kind of burned me out. Other day I decided to play Splatoon 2 and Pac Man 99 instead. Last night I wanted to watch Demon Slayer Mugen Train instead. Idk if I feel like playing today either but I do want to try to get to 1M BP before event (10 killer matches with cakes)
-
@GeneralV I heard about old Doc and the different modes he had. I also heard that Snap out of it was considered healing and Nurse's calling picked it up lol
How did Lerys change from current form?
-
Overcharge/Oppression/PGTW/Dragon's Grip with Doctor
You kick a gen, they touch a gen, they go down lol
Survivor (Totem/Locker build)
Small Game/Inner Strength/Head On/Deception. You could do Flashbang or DS as well.

Hello everyone!
I have put about 600 hours or so into this game, but I am still at a loss as to the usefulness of certain perks. That being said, I see a lot of killers I go up against these days using STBFL. Is this perk somehow underrated, and I just missed it? Am I missing synergies here with it? Do I just not see its potential? I am genuinely curious as to what makes it such a good perk to see so much use.
Thank you for your time.
STBFL is great for killers with secondary powers that do damage (Demo, Nemesis etc.). M1 attacks to non-obsession gives you a stackable 5% cooldown on attacks. Thats a 40% reduction in time on attack animations. This has helped tremendously as you can attack ,recover and attack again.
Then to avoid losing stacks you use your special on the obsession to damage them (Demo's shred).
With the recent HUD changes you see which in game character is your obsession (i.e. Jake, Laurie). So you won't accidently M1 the obsession and lose stacks. This was a big buff imo.
I suppose all killers can use it, but I think Demo is the best since Shred is effective and he just got buffed lately.

None of those but unbreakable can change a win to a loss.
BT and DS are fair perks that only screw over losers who tunnel lol.
NoED can give a bad killer who played poorly a 4k and teach that killer bad habits or no reason to get Better at the game
In many times NOED can be used inappropriately. But it does leave the player handicapped for the entirety of the match. Instead of them running a different perk they chose NOED. So they have less perks available for 95% of the match. If all gens flew and they got no hits the entire match then they usually get 1-2k with NOED. That behavior isn't encouraged, but it sounds different than what you posted. He already 3K before NOED activated and closed the hatch. Unless you had a key, there was a good chance you were going down regardless of NOED.

Ran a Nemesis through an entire match without a single hit or infection. It got to a point he ignored me and allowed me to do 4 totems. Including ruin instantly, Devour after his first hit with it, And 2 dulls.
His zombies got most of his downs and camped hooks. But i took chase long enough for Claudette to finish a gen and die.
At this point he closes hatch and still hasn't hit me. And gates are far. So i pop one open right as he reaches me, practically guaranteeing my escape and boom. Extra 4% speed and insta down. Gate was open, i was full health, never hit the entire game in 5 different chases, destroyed 2 of his perks and hard carried randoms... But he gets rewarded for playing badly and decided to slug me shaking his head for the bleedout timer after carrying me away from the gate.
You bet i just left the game and got lunch lol.
I love when someone plays badly, can't even hit me the whole game and gets the pity kill from an unhealthy crutch perk. NoED is just brutal in Soloq. "Just do bones" is hard solo when teammates die in 5 seconds and don't do gens. The nemesis player was having a bad game vs me and got an undeserved kill when my escape should have been guaranteed. The better player should always win. As an advocate of fun DbD over comp/sweaty dbd. I feel noed creates bad habits and hinders newer players from being better, this guy clearly was carried by noed.
Sorry for the rant. My experience on both sides during the event is awful. I kinda hate events because the sweat and toxicity they bring.
I just think noed, like self care and urban can create bad habits and hinder newer players from getting better, while making solo even less fun.
So you're saying he had early game pressure with Ruin and Devour Hope to force people off of gens, had enough game sense to leave bad chases with a good survivor and had a backup plan with NOED after finding/closing hatch?
I didn't see gameplay, but just based on description it sounds like he would've gotten 3K without NOED.

Hey thanks for the advice. My main is my buddy from Silent Hill, but that's because he is and always will be my favorite monster/imposing force of any game.....but I am loving Doc way more than I thought I would.....ATM my go to killers are PH.....Doc......Huntress......
Yeah I know. Doctor just seems so happy all the time lol he was my 3rd killer but my main 100%. I also enjoy Demo and Myers.
-
I only started playing last August, so ill give 2 answers; one on my experience and then general chapters since I own most killers.
Personal: A Binding of Kin: Twins' story was so sad between Charlotte and Victor. Probably 2nd to only Spirit. Elodie seemed like an Indiana Jones and I enjoy her overall style. Perk wise I enjoy Oppression and Deception.
General: Spark of Madness. Doctor is my main and one of my favorite maps Lerys. There's no upstairs gens like in Midwich, its small enough for Jump Scare Myers to do great, and general aesthetic is creepy. Even Feng gave us Lithe which is a great exhaustion perk imo

I was also looking at Star Struck as well.....but not with this set up....I went up against 3 Docs with it yesterday and it was a very scary thing......
Yes but most Docs play it wrong. They pair it with Distressing and double calm add ons to get a huge TR. But Doctor isn't mobile enough to make use of it. Nurse/Spirit/Blight could be great with it. For Doctor it just discourages bodyblocking and hook bombing.

https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/QCQ1BMDV93YH/screenshot-20210712-004823-chrome.jpg
I just started playing last week and I don't have many killers yet but this is my idea and didn't know if anyone tried this combo yet
As a Doctor main who started playing last year ill give my 2 cents! Also welcome!
General: Doctor is one of the killers who can be really flexible with his build. Impossible skill checks, Gen Lock Out, Aggressive chases, etc.
Your build is mixing a few different builds. Hex: Huntresd Lullaby/Overcharge is good for impossible skill checks, but Iron Grasp is out of place.
Impossible Skill Check: Hex: Huntress Lullaby, Overcharge, Oppression, PGTW, Dragon's Grip. I gave you a few options since you are new. You can get a lot of value from these perks. PGTW + Overcharge + Oppression will do 25% immediate regression, slap on a tremendously difficult skill check for next user and cause 2 other gens to start regressing. If you want to run Dragon's Grip over Huntress you will mess them up. If they touch a gen you just kicked, they scream and get exposed for 60s. I suggest DG since higher ranked survivors are used to hitting the hard skill checks with DS.
Btw my current build is Whispers/BBQ/Surge/Corrupt Intervention. Whispers is great on Doctor since it almost guarantees no wasted Static Blast which is one of his best powers imo. With a crazy long cooldown of 60s you can only get 10 per match sometimes.
I have other good build ideas. Lmk and I'd be happybto share them.

I haven't had any issues on Switch. Nothing near the game lag I saw for PS4 players. I saw DyllonKG compared it to like a Mr. Game & Watch with frqme skips

Nothing firm. They have to fix matchmaking first. SBMM was tested so once it gets going they can start doing rank rewards then.

I was a Doctor on Hawkins and Leon was being chased down a hallway. I see him drop a well timed flashbang, but turn my back and moonwalk before it went off.
I think some people have really gotten the hang of it, but most haven't lol
I think its a cool mechanic as an alternate to flashlights
-
I'd be open for Trapper rework. More elaborate traps will be interesting besides bear traps (tree traps, branch stun traps).
Other than that, I think the overall state of most killers is good. We don't need top tier killers all the time. Even trickster has a unique style and power that separates him from Huntress and Deathslinger. Im getting more appreciation as time goes on.
Trapper did get a small buff from Small Game mechanics changing, but still struggles due to time it takes to set up. Hag/Demo/Freddy don't have to go look for more traps or portals. Once they are destroyed or tripped they respawn. Trapper doesn't make sense to do this, so he should have the power to create traps that are separate from bear traps. We can argue huntress and trickster have similar issues, but even then they get 5 and 60 as base kit when they want to use them, while Trapper gets 2 by default and they may never be tripped.
-
I don't think killers specifically are bad, but the type of players are bad. These players will usually main certain killers which result in less fun matches.
Bubba matches are usually not fun in general. I see more of the discouraged behavior from Bubba players. Wraith can be a mixed bag as either they are really sweaty or just normal.
-
Red Forest is big but I don't have an issue with it. RCPD feels as big but more constricting due to hallways and misc. rooms.
Swamp is just messy in general. Its too dark and the areas under the buildings are the worst. As a colorblind killer it is a hard map in general (although new Coldwind maps are worse with the corn even with colorblind settings)

The last few days of this sweaty event has shown me that the new killer meta is to tunnel a single survivor out of the game as quickly as possible, no nuances needed. Killers I queue into are consistently trying to remove someone from the game to ease the pressure. Which leads me to this conclusion...
If you aren't running second chance perk(s) as a survivor, you are a liability for your team.
If the killer chooses you as the first chase and first hook, and consequently tunnels you into struggle hook, it's all but already a 3v1 because if they tunneled you once, they're tunneling you twice.
I'm not asking for every survivor to run the same boring build, but isn't it more boring for you to be forced into a seemingly helpless 3v1?
I play both killer and survivor. I try not to tunnel for the most part (if I find you 2 minutes later injured and working on a gen I'm probably not going to ignore you lol). So DS isn't really an issue even though I see people running it still.
As survivor I play soloq, so my priorities are on pipping not surviving in most cases. I follow rule of 2 (2gens, 2 totems, 2 unhooks and 2 good chases).
Elodie:
Small Game/Inner Strength/Head On/Bond
Bill:
WGLF/BT/Bond/Deliverance
I'm working on Lithe/Q&Q build now. I want to get better in chases and help team.

@NVerde said:
I would love there to be a counter on it, at minimum. It's annoying looking for a totem to have a heal in reserve when the totem doesn't even exist anymore.
This is why Inner Strength is paired with Small Game usually. I run a locker build on my main. Inner Strength/Small Game/Head On. Last perk I change between Bond (great info on what teammates are doing), Deception (another fun locker perk).
I think IS is okay right now. As somebody pointed out before that more people using it will result in less totems for you to use.
If I had to buff inner strength in any way I'd like to give it a treatment similar to counterforce. After healing (when leaving locker) using IS, any totems within 8/16/24m are revealed to you for 3s. This would be similar to Left Behind but totem instead of hatch. It doesn't guarantee an aura as it may be far, but can help you get that next stack quick.

Just had a match on Augohaven as Doctor with no issues.
-
Ive been throwing cakes every game. First 2 days i saw 4-5 cakes.
Now I'm seeing 2-3 (including mine) for both sides. It could be people did what they wanted to do and want to save cakes now.
However I am now seeing longer queue times for killer. I couldn't even get into a match yesterday morning, but survivor was almost instant. I don't mind, but I get more BP consistently as killer.
-
This is pretty crazy. I think DBD on steam hit 100k players. If we get 5 crowns each, that would be 5M crowns, of which we already got 2.3M.
I guess an easy fix would be to create smurf accounts and get the crowns that way.
-
I've been unlocking perks mostly. Only killers not unlocked are Deathslinger and Legion.
I got Deliverance and Lithe already.
Other perks I'm waiting for are Iron Maiden, Hex: Retribution, Detective's Hunch, and Built to last. Priority given to IM and B2L. I will also consider Stridor if I see it (already have Thano and Nurses calling , but don't want to level up Nurse)
Ive been dropping BP into leveling characters for perks. Right now I'm focusing on Meg (Sprint Burst, Q&Q which goes great with Lithe), Spirit (Hex:HG, Rancor), David (i unlocked WGLF already, but do want DH)
Meg/David are almost done, so they probably need 8 matches worth of points with cakes. Spirit is level 16 so probably 5 matches with cakes. After that im going to work on getting add ons on Doctor since hee my main (need more purple and Iri Kings) and then get to 1M before end if event. I think its definitely doable

there's acouple key factors you gotta play in here,
Lemme explain. without bbq. you'll get like 32k base. no cakes and whatnot,
But with bbq that doubles to 64k
So in theory.. 105% would make it atleast 34k give or take,
So now take that and add 525%
You SHOULD and i believe in THEORY.
get a total betweek 230k-300k bp per game if its ALWAYS a perfect 12 hook game, with max categories
All bonus BP are awarded poat trial.
32k perfect game
32 BBQ stacks
1 cake= 33,600
5 cakes = 5x33,600=168k
Total=32k + 32k + 168k =232k
There's the crown BP but I'm not sure if that's awarded towards the maximum in a certain category (i.e. objective) or if its awarded poat ttlrial

I just played a few matches as Killer and in each one Survivors did gens way too fast and showed 0 respect for me
I can't keep up with them and they always seem to have the upper hand. Why? Are Gens too fast? Is Survivor side too easy?
Devs, can you please help Killer be more enjoyable and fair? Maybe something that stops Gens being done too fast would be good.
As an Asperger's guy, i tend to take the strong disrespect kinda personally and it makes me sad and feel like a joke. Does anyone else feel this way?
Killer can be frustrating tbh. You don't have teammates to support you. I would say don't worry about the 4k. As somebody who doesn't like the t-bagging I try to shrug it off and focus on having fun.
I like using Corrupt Intervention as it guarantees a match won't end in 3 minutes. You can pair it with Undying Ligjt/Thano/Sloppy Butcher for extra slowdown, but it comes down to pressuring gens properly.
I'm 65% killer main btw and green ranks. I enjoy where I'm at rn so learning the game and enjoying the nuances is important

For the survivor side I would make an actual anti-tunnel version of DS base kit as to punish Killers who tunnel. Next up I'd make Kindred base kit to put solo survivors more on par with SWF.
For the Killer side I'd make pop goes the weasel base kit to make it so Killers won't have to run at least two slow down perks to not get gens pumped out quick. After that I'd make shadow born an optional setting just in case some people enjoy the low FOV for whatever reason.
Kindred: killer's aura is only revealed for 10s but any distance. This can show you where they are going after hooking (BBQ) or if they are planning to camp. This will help with soloq as you find out who killer is, where they are going, etc. There were times when I saw somebody get insta-downed across the map and I couldn't figure out who it was. Is it Iri Head Huntress? Is it GF? Is it jumpscare Myers who grabbed somebody off gen?
Whispers: I think this is beneficial for both sides tbh. Killer obviously will benefit from having some form of locating perk. Survivor side, its not an aura reading perk like Lethal Pursuer or BBQ, and it helps in the end game where the last survivor is off in the corner bleeding and hiding from killer. You can wait the 4 minutes to bleed out or EGC to happen or killer can find you and move on to next game.

He is not. He is like top 5 worst killers for sure. I am not saying he is good or balanced. He is very weak however he is far from worst.
He can shutdown anyone in open loops quickly. If he catch you in the open you will be stormed quickly. Some loops or strucktures are good for him as well where he can trow a lot of daggers on you. While you locked in animation (windows, pallets, etc.) he can hit a lot of daggers.
I think people underrating him a bit. But he is still on the weaker side for sure.
I tried him the other day for my daily for the 1st time (I mainly wanted Starstruck lol)
I haven't played any projectile user since I'm on console (I love Doctor, Demo, and Myers). The speed is a little rough but I could see how he can end chases fairly quickly. Missing blades isn't as punishing as say Deathslingers 1 shot or Huntress' 5 hatchets. He didn't feel terrible, just really different than other killers.
I'm not a fan of Nurse or Blight who are considered top tier mainly due to the mechanics of their powers.
I think most killers can be effective (not overwhelming domineering, but capable of forcing pressure) if you put enough time into understanding their powers and mindgaming properly.
I played Nemesis yesterday for 1st time. A missed tentacle attack which only contaminates seems to be more punishing imo. Not only would you not injure them on 1st strike, but you missed lol

Got home to try what is supposed to be a glorious and fun event and 3 games in a row.
5 cakes used, sweaty Slugging Nurse with Infectious Freight. Nobody gets more than 8K while she gets 30K+
4 cakes used, Spirit camping and tunneling, she gets a lot of points while survivors get 10K
4 cakes used, Doctor camping and tunneling. Killer gets a staggering 28K for this.
Why is one person dictating the match like this and claiming a victor for such a low-skill effort? It is past time the devs fix this and bring fun into the game and events.
Not using any cakes until the problem is fixed.
Ive been chill with my killer games. I even let people go. As long as I get 4 BBQ stacks, and a decent score im happy. I did try Nemesis but son woke up with 1 gen left. So I let the last survivors finish and leave. At this point I get 5 matches of points in one go. So i can get 15 matches worth if BP in 40 min

How many crowns spawn per match?

The current state of issues on console can no longer be minimized by labeling them as "fps drops". These are game breaking issues that makes attempting to enjoy your product or even participate competitively a massive waste of time rendering it officially broken.
What really bothers me is consoles are one uniform spec of hardware, there is no way you had no idea this was going to happen with the release of the RE chapter patch unless you did not at any point play test the product on console before rolling out the update and then accepting money for the chapter from your entire console community knowing full well you was breaking the product which was only just hanging in there at 45fps, but workable.
When updates break on PC you have a million untested hardware configurations that could create problems, issues are expected, consoles do not have that problem, you had 5/6 preset uniform machines to test it on, all of which are suffering the exact same issue, did you not test it or did you just release it anyway to cash in at our expense ?.
To not have had the issue acknowledged for how game breaking it is and be given a proper apology/compensation is genuinely awful on your part. Coming back to the game from playing for the first year of PC launch I was very happy to see BHV as a company had blown up with success from the game and I'm very sad to see the weekly base touching indie dev team appears to be choosing the path of EA/Actiblizzard.
The BHV I remember would never have drowned the biggest thread in the history of your forums regarding performance in total radio silence, a real shame.
Here's just a few clips from this evening testing out post patch:
Playstation share smooths out the stutter a bit and makes it look more like lag than it stuttering, I guess it's from the hard drive choking when it happens, needless to say the game is no longer about skill but simply coin flips. For the record the footage was taken on a ps pro set to 1080p on a tv set to gaming mode.
Glad I bought all the killers in anticipation for the event...
Rant over, peace.
That's really unfortunate. I play on Switch and haven't experienced this (fortunately). I can definitely see how this would be difficult to play.

@PokemonGOPlayer said:
Hello people of the forums, I am a Killer main and I've being playing this game since Hag release.
Today I want to address an issue with the game's design and marketization, explaining why I think this game could be much better if perk designers stopped pandering to new Killer players with DLC perks.
My main topic is how perks affect tracking Survivors.
In the last years, tracking has no longer been an issue or something to learn because some perks were created, must have perks that are so good they completely remove one core side of Killer gameplay.
Obviously the main culprit is BBQ, a perk that's run by almost every Killer that has it unlocked, you end a chase and you immediately know where to go, no need to track patrolled generators, areas, no more guesswork since the counterplay to this perk is so inefficient that most good Survivors will just ignore it.
Now Lethal Pursuer has been released and this perk completely removes the need of learning spawns, you'll always find who you want to find with no counterplay at all, Survivors get no notifications, Survivors get no way of hiding from it, even the inefficient BBQ counter (lockers) are not an option. The Killer just knows where to go.
Thrilling Tremors acts the same as BBQ, some would call it strictly better but for most people the bonus BPs matter a lot since the grind in this game is insane.
Surveillance is another tracking perk that, while worse than the others, still saw some usage given its sheer utility, especially with the new Ruin.
What I'm trying to say is that these perks negates one important learning process of the Killer player and, most importantly, are all from licensed DLCs. There are basic tracking perks but I don't think anyone would compare Spies from the Shadows or Bitter Murmur to BBQ or Lethal Pursuer.
Whisper is good but do you really think a new player would want to learn how Whispers works, considering scuffed meters values and the fact that there are much easier perks to use in paid DLCs?
At the end of the day many perks have no thematic value that ties them to the Killer they are released with, so I have to guess this is a marketing strategy. I won't judge.
I just wish many Perks got the Ruin treatment, after the Ruin change the level of gameplay definetely improved from the Killer side and I want to see more similar episodes.
I wish you all a nice day :)
Essentially you are saying locating perks are leading to poorer killer skills?
BBQ: have to have successful chases in order to be rewarded with information which can be countered by lockers and Distortion.
Lethal Pursuer: 9s of information which is helpful on certain maps where normal spawns don't happen (Haddonfield-see Otz's video about this). And then you are perkless the rest of the match.
Whispers: can't be countered and is free. I use Doctor with Whispers and the amount of people I've caught hiding in lockers to hide from Static Blast is funny lol
Bitter Murmur: only counter is Distortion or not doing gens
It seems that the DLC perks either reward good plays or leave the killer at a handicap the rest of the match. If you don't get hooks or have poor early game pressure both perks will be useless.

@NMCKE said:
Pretty simple, here's a few base and perk changes:
Base Changes
Powered Status Effect: When further than 32 meters from the hook:- 5% Haste Effect, 10% Attack Recovery, 10% Action Speed
Perk Ideas
Pure Evil: When a survivor is unhooked, their repair speed is decreased by 25% for the next 40/50/60 seconds.Death Sentence: When an unhooked survivor is put into the dying state in the next 15 seconds, the savior will become exposed and can be killed by the killer for the next 20/25/30 seconds.
I think Death Sentence would encourage proxy camping. Why go far away when you can down the person who was just unhooked and then expose/mori the unhooker. Itll literally take a person out of the game for being altruistic.
Make your choice, Hex: DH both encourage not camping in order to get use of perks. I think a powerful perk that could discourage camping would have to be something like these perks where the benefit of not camping outweighs the kill.
Perk Idea:
Entity's Revenge
If a survivor is unhooked and killer is more than 70/65/60m away, the unhooker will be automatically sacrificed to the killer in 4 minutes.
This would be a huge initiative to avoid early game camping, but it gives survivors time to unhook safely and avoid being tunneled. 4.6m/s killer would need to travel 14s for it activate. If survivors unhook quickly then it won't work. Killers have to learn to count BT, so having survivors do the same isn't crazy.
Even if it was down to EGC it wouldn't make a difference as BT and exit gates will let most last minute escapes happen. But this perk would shine when 1-2 gens remain, which is typically when the first sacrifice normally happens (it does happen earlier, but imo 3 gens pop really quickly)

I don't know what else is happening outside of crowns and BP cakes.
Its 2 weeks long so I'm hoping to accumulate a fair amount of BP.

So I’m new to the game as of two weeks ago, and have really enjoyed it so far. I started playing as a survivor (Meg). I have played with a number of experienced players, and they define having fun in the game when they can run a killer forever, gen rush, get cheeky hook saves, pallet crush the killer, taunt them at the exit, take a final hit before they run out, cleanse the active hex totem to turn off killer perks, take hits to save other players, teabag in front of the killer, sneak out through the hatch with a key, flashlight stun the killer repeatedly, etc…
However, the 3rd time I ever played a killer (The Doctor), I put the same survivor on the hook 3x in a row to make it 3v1, did the AOE shock every 60 seconds hitting 2 or 3 with an increased range perk each time, kicked gens and regressed them and put harder skill checks on them, and zapped players to prevent them from jumping through windows and using pallets so I could hit them. Then I would wack them as soon as they would unhook someone. I would also run by people left on hooks and wack them (I don’t think this causes damage or anything, just doing what I think a killer would do). I got a 4 kill and they only fixed 2 gens. Then, after the match, they were pissed, calling me toxic and saying it wasn’t fun. They also said my Doctor was too brutal, and I was running unfun perks (My Doctor is lvl 16), I wasn’t being fair, I didn’t let them do anything, and that I tunneled.
So if the survivors can do all those survivor things, then why is it a problem for killers to do their killer things? I mean, I have watched all the classic horror movies, and none of them go easy on the survivors. They show no mercy and use their abilities to scare, torment, punish, and kill characters, often destroying everyone or all but one character.
As a new player, I am honestly trying to understand why there is such a discrepancy between what’s fun for the survivors and what’s fun for the killers. I really don’t want to create a negative player experience for others in a video game, however, it really feels incongruent to select a killer and then let the survivors escape easily or limit / minimize your objectives and use of perks. Doesn’t seem to benefit the killer to hook everyone once in order, then go through the list again for the 2nd hook, then only hit survivors 1x after that, then they all escape.
Am I missing something here?
I mean you denied the other players their opinion of winning, they're probably not going to have fun. Doctor is a bit more oppressive for lower ranks as well as they are not familiar with all of his nuances (reverse skill checks, fake pallets, illusionary doctors giving away locations) and they can't just stealth around the map.
As a person who plays both roles (65/35 killer/survivor) my killer fun is looking for 4 stacks of BBQ, completing a daily/tome, fun builds like scratched mirror Myers, or just cool plays (like illusionary doctors give away survivors' locations like in lockers or great mindgames).
As a survivor, its mainly cool plays (like against Nurse or Hillbilly). I also enjoy totem hunting or play with fun builds (Deception/Head On, BT/Deliverance)

Yes either way it's good hopefully I am remembering it correctly/they do it the same. Cakes are also 105% so with 5 of them thats a whole 25% extra as well. Hopefully it's not too hard for survivors to get them this year I swear I heard there was just a toolbox this time if that's true should be easier to get this year for them.
I'll probably just play Doctor lol he's the easiest killer to farm BP. Distressing/BBQ/Starstruck/Corrupt will probably be my build. You will get game slowdown with Corrupt, BBQ stacks and will hit 8k in deviousness very quickly with Diatressing. You can take advantage of Distressing and pair it with Starstruck. You could do Thrilling Tremors before picking up downed survivor to get get people off gens and expose them.

No I have scored well over 300k as a survivor so as killer you can do more. It's been a year so can't remember my exact scores but I know for a fact i got more than 224 plenty of times. Each killer is different and better than some in the BP department but have you ever scored a perfect 32k game and have more than 32k? Without BBQ I'm talking about as killers (just the way it looks to me) can earn more than 32k. The 32k is based off the 4 categories and hitting 8k in each but they still have other way to earn points besides those via there powers. The BP gains are weird but what category does precise nurse blink, blink hits, frenzy hits, bear traps/setting them, etc go in? I have notice that each killer is better in some categories than others. Some you can't get deviousness for #########, some brutality is better then hunter, etc. So maybe that where there powers are dispensed? Not sure all I know is if you get into a 5 cake game I remember getting more than 224k and I don't save BP so know I didn't have any saved. Could have also been high too it's possible since a year is a long time even though it fly's by.
Maybe there was a blood hunt going on? 224k could become 450k with 5 cake offerings.
We'll see what happens but I'm pretty sure everything stacks post match

Exactly. Double blood points is cool but there is nothing like a 5 cake game with BBQ/WGLG as a topping. Nothing like 400-550k a game depending on how you do (survivor) or the killer you are and also how well you do I guess. Both are great (have only seen one BH in my time) but nothing is like cake time.
How do you get 400-550k? It's awarded poat trial so with 32k max + 32k for BBQ and then another 160k for 5 cake offerings. Wouldn't your max be like 224k per perfect match more or less?

Wraith i think 100% . Shadowborn is good for Nurse but other than that meh. PH might be up there as well.
Best has to either be Plague (Corrupt/IF) or Nurse (Stridor, Nurse's, Thano)

I'm doing the killer thing where I have a bad match and come on the forums to complain.
The advice I see is if someone is good in a chase you just leave them and find a different survivor. But what do you do against 4 survivors who are all expert runners? The early game was a sign this game was no good, I was having a decent chase and then 3 gens got done at once.
I've seen pros saying that against a good survivor team you have to completely change your gameplay and just play tag, but unless you're running sloppy they just heal through it.
I just feel really powerless as killer against a good team of survivors. I feel like I have no resources and no recourse except to just accept that the game is unwinnable for me. And that's not why I play killer. That's not the fantasy of playing killer. And it is terrible for the health of the game because it just makes me want to take out my frustration against the next group of survivors, which just furthers the cycle of toxicity.
What strategies are there against a team that plays perfectly?
3 gens popping is normal tbh. Idk your rank, but you are probably up against regular people vs. A de-pip bully squad.
Corrupt Intervention, Surge, PGTW, Oppression, Eruption, Thtilling Tremors are l good slowdown perks. I don't run Ruin usually unless I'm running a build that requires some set up (I.e. infinite Tier 3 Myers). In that case ill run Corrupt and Ruin. Itll lock out at least 3 gens, so I can focus on tiering up for the snowball effect.
But best way of pressuring gens is downing survivors. Having 2 people on hooks at 4 gens is huge, especially if they are in same area. Itll force the others off gens to rescue.
If you are struggling with ending chases quickly, then you may need to brush up on winning chases more often. DyllonKG and OhTofu have great videos. DyllonKG has videos on LT walls, shacks, etc. And OhTofu has gamrleplay videos that he reviews and points out mistakes. You can learn a lot from these videos.

Hello all!
After been playing survivor for a while, I decided to play as the killer now for a while now. Im playing on console(Playstation) and would like to know which Killer is good to start getting the hang with? So for example which killer can I get better at hitting the survivors? And is not too hard to play/master? Hope you have some good advice for me!
Thanks all!
Falarid
Well welcome to the killer side lol
I play on Switch so many of the console issues we face will be similar. Projectile attackers are harder on console (Huntress, Deathslinger, Trickster). Blight is also tricky on console.
I started playing killer last August and have reached green ranks. I started with Trapper, but his traps are meh if you don't have any gen slowdown perks. I then switched to Hillbilly and he was fun for insta-downs. But my first true, and current, main is Doctor. He is essentially a 4.6m/s M1 killer with great information powers. In the beginning its find survivors, hit them, repeat. Shock therapy is a great tool that can deny survivors actions like vaulting, unhooking, etc.
My current build is Corrupt Intervention/Whispers/BBQ/Surge. Its an aggressive build, but is effective. Doctor can run multiple builds.
Wraith is another great killer that has an essentially simple power. He has a crazy lunge when uncloaking.
I also enjoy Demo and Myers, but they require some more work to be fun.

Mastering? None lol
I do enjoy Doctor, Demo, Myers and Wraith in that order lol

The worst thing about this map for me is: They finally got colorblind filters, and i got myself a good setting, and this map is so different from the rest that i again cant see any auras on this map. And since i can´t change filters during a match, i just use the penalty-free disconnect i enjoy at the moment.
You can change colorblind settings in a match.
I'm colorblind too and love the new settings but hate the corn. I can't see any auras as killer even with adjustments. If I can get 1k ill be happy

I had leveled him up just for Starstruck, but then I had a daily for him. I figured why not?
I'm on switch btw. I don't usually play projectile killers (Doctor, Demo, Myers, Wraith usually). It was fun, but I definitely had trouble with the blades and loops. I really wish he was faster. It feels like it takes forever to traverse the map.

I feel like it's a really big problem that there is no official win condition. I mean, how could you ever have a competitive game with no win condition? That's impossible. So most people just make it up. I generally like to use the method that Otzdarva does when he does his win streaks where if at least one person gets out through the exit gate with all gens powered it's a loss for the killer. That may seem a little harsh but I like giving myself a challenge. So what are your win conditions, and I don't mean "get 4 BBQ stacks", I mean a legitimate win condition that you are satisfied with?
Ive come to accept that a 4k every game isn't realistic. Im okay with even 1k and a positive pip, but fun matches are more important.
I tried Trickster yesterday for my daily. Fortunately I got 3 level 20s (I wonder if MMR is still on since I never played him before and never get level 20s). I had 1k, BBQ stacks, completed my Daily and I pip up. So I was happy with that

Why do you spend time playing this game? Have you actually thought about how much lifetime you have spent running, killing, hooking, repairing, healing, saving, escaping, winning, losing, feeling nothingness, feeling arrogance, feeling anger, feeling relief. Is it pleasant?
What's so pleasant about it? Do you feel satisfied when you fulfill the in-game goals while can't carry the weight of real life requirements? Do you need any sort of fulfillment? Emotional one? Is the life dull? Social one? Is the life lonely? Do you want to feel special at least somewhere? Do you want people to notice you, be happy around you, be angry because of you? Do you wish being meaningful in someone else's life? Do you wish to be meaningful?
Is it why you play this game for too much? Do you know why do you play? Do you even enjoy the time you spend on it? Ten hours, hundreds, thousand hours. Is it addiction? What lacks out there that you need it in this illusion of reality?
...
Do you even want to answer this?
Weird way to post lol
Complex multi-player game that has you to risk-reward analysis in the moment. This is for both roles.
Survivor is just that. Do you prioritize yourself or are you altruistic? Would you lay down your life so that your teammates can survive?
Killer is just a constant ride. Mind games and strategies have to be tight. You can't just react but have to anticipate based on observed, and not observed, behaviors.

Yeah, today has been really bad. Maybe there was a sale so BHVR could trick new players into spending money on the game?
There's also a real lack of understanding the game. One game today three of us spawn together, two hop onto a nearby gen, but the other immediately sabotages the nearest hook, like they don't know that the hook will respawn and that action alerts the killer.
Sabo hook could be their daily. As a survivor you only get 18k-22k in most matches, so getting a guaranteed 30k is better than hoping for an okay match.
I usually bring tool box with add on that makes Sabo quiet. If possible I do 1 gen first and then do my Sabo far away.

They don’t need to do the RE chapter for their anniversary, they’re literally having the anniversary event well after the release. I’m not really interested in the $ side of this
The $ side is what matters. They are a business before an LGBT ally tbh. People expected the chapter in June. They pushed out the anniversary event to 7/1. You can make an argument that they pushed out the anniversary event for pride month, but realistically it was probably for 2 reasons; 1. ensure enough time to correct bugs after chapter releases for big event and 2. Schools are out definitely by 7/1.
But why wouldn't they do a massive license release for 5 year anniversary? If you're married and are celebrating 5 years do you just go to McDonald's? No! You go to a fancy restaurant. You can go anytime during the year, but it means more during an anniversary.
Again, they want money. There's more money associated with RE than pride. The only way that pride could overshadow RE was if they had some crazy event like double BP month.

Quite frankly, I’m really disappointed with the effort that was put in as a gay person.
First off, I think it’s a shame that we STILL don’t have any playable queer characters in the game, and whilst I was happy we got the RE chapter, I think releasing a queer character in pride month would’ve been much better.
We got a pride charm, which resulted in a bizarre amount of posts of people worrying about falsely being called homophobic for tunnelling players with this charm, with a significant lack of proof that this was opening beyond one or two instances. The charm was a nice gesture, but that’s all it was, it wasn’t enough action to show appreciation to all the gay players. It’s especially sad in a horror game, as horror has always been an extremely queer genre. We had an event to find a stupid gnome, but nothing in game beyond the charm?
I can’t imagine it would be too much legwork to have some pride shirts on original cosmetics, that would be given for free. Alternatively, they could’ve been sold and have the proceeds donated to LGBTQ+ charities, like the charity cosmetic pack.
J really hope we get more (any) queer representation in the game soon, as the game has plenty of representation of horror icons, but none regarding gay people which are vital to the genre, in the past and present.
Every corporation is gay during June, but their 5th anniversary is also in June.
Whats going to bring more money in? Resident Evil Chapter or Rainbow clothes? Even if you had 10k people buy the base game, the RE chapter and new $30 killer dlc expansion and then never play the game, they made almost 630k.
If you had 5k people buy rainbow outfits at $5 each, you are looking at only 25k.
From a business perspective its cool to do some LGBT streams and events, but the focus has to be on core game during anniversary if they want to continue the game.
Idc much for pride month (corporations just take advantage of the people). Its not unlike Old Navy selling American shirts before Independence Day. Im sure their patriotic, but they want the money first and foremost lol
