Youd be surprised with how many survivors will be caught off guard by tinkerer

Also interesting build, surge is quite controversial on him but if it works it works.

PGTW vs. Surge have different playstyles. I find when I run PGTW i usually find next survivor on a gen. Do I just chase them off to kick it or do I initiate chase? The latter is usually a better option given the fact that I have 1 person on hook. If I down them 20s later, Surge will go off since it has a cooldown of 40s (assuming 20s between downing previous person and finding next person). It can help tremendously if you have a strong 3 gen.

Even on other M1 killers like Doctor I enjoy Surge. Its a lot more chases and less kicking

  • Twins: Whispers, Corrupt Intervention, BBQ, Sloppy Butcher

I personally despise the ruin/pop combo, everytime i run it ruin either goes immediately or ruin never gets cleansed, very poor synergy that is up to RNG.

I would recommend just ditching ruin, and go for Corrupt, BBQ, Pop, tinkerer.

Chase perks arent really necessary on Bubba his chainsaw is threatening enough when you get really good with it.

His chainsaw will give him away so quickly even with Tinkerer lol

I like Corrupt/BBQ/Surge/Infectious Fright. I find Pop to be a waste sometimes as people rush to not waste it. Surge does it automatically with less control. When you down a survivor, you regress gens and then trigger IF so you can slug and go for next chase or be aware of potential flashlight saves. If nothing goes off, then you hook and look for next survivor.

  • Trickster: Fairy/Steel (Showmanship + Knives)

Twins: Psychic/Dark (Psychic for twin connection, but an opposite type to show difference in gameplay, but they share a similar weakness in bug since they are twins).

Doctor: I'm okay with electric/dark lol

    Plague: poison 100%

Trapper: Dark type. They have moves that are more trick like aspect (Taunt, Foul Play, Torment, Pursuit)

Spirit: Water/Ghost. She is 100% ghost, but she moves fluidly like water throughout the map.

Deathslinger: Ghost/Steel. Small TR makes him invisible until he attacks

Hillbilly: Fire/Electric (very fast with chainsaw sprint). Reminds me of fast fire and electric types (Infernape, Cinderace, Helolisk). Given that its a chainsaw and overheats, it makes sense.

Blight: Bug/Electric. Oozing chemicals reminds me of bugs and fast speed for electric.

I like these type of threads and would even enjoy doing this for survivors. Is it interesting how ghost/dark/steel are perceived as traditional archetypes for evil. Fairy was mentioned for several killers.

  • I'm slowing a bit down too. The games that have a pull of 1 more time, but causes stress at the same time. There's pressure about ranking, toxic players. Killers can get looped for 6 minutes straight and get no points and then t-bagged/bullied after. Survivors wait 10 minutes to get into a match only to be tunneled 3 minutes in.

Right now, I'm limiting myself to 4 matches a week. Im using the rest of the time for more chill games (Pokemon Shield, New Snap, Luigi's Mansion 3 and Splatoon 2). The last game can have the similar mentality as DBD where bad matches can cause stress but with matches only being 3 minutes for turf war, the premise of "one more match" is more prevalent.

  • I played killer because I hate jump scares lol

Easier BP, but more stress lol

Doctor is fun! He's my main, but I've been enjoying Wraith lately

  • If you see a totem, you're a pervert lol

I had a match on Yamakoa Estate and totem was literally hiding in a bush. You couldn't see my whole character (Elodie)

And then I saw a good hiding spot on Red Dawg where it was hiding in a barrel lol

  • I'm colorblind and I can't see a thing on the new map. Even with adjusting the settings. I was so excited for a bright map, but the yellow corn and red auras mess me up.

As i said other times here, i play killer too... mostly killer than survivor, but when i play this last role, i often face killers who say in chat: "You toxic tryhards... why the genrush? Can you do something different than just pressing M1?". It happens many times. End of game and in chat you meet an angry person who says the magic words: "you toxic genrushers". A part giving a new meaning to the word "toxic", is the "genrush" survivors fault? The game has one simple rule: "complete 5 generators in order to escape the trial and the killer must stop you to do so". What am i supposed to do in order to avoid the genrush based on your logic? Wandering around random, organizing parties with my teammates, doing absolutely nothing but giving you all the time necessary to hook every single one of us? Every time i hear this excuse, i cry out laughing. C'mon, killers, isn't that a pathetic and childish excuse for being a failure at the game? If i was able to "genrush" you, is because you gave me all the time to do it. Ez. So who's the fault? Me? I'm playing survivor, my job is do gens, juke you a couple of times and escape. Period. Your job is stopping me. Just do your job and if you wasn't able to do it, just say "gg wp" and move on!

I'm on switch so I don't have chat lol

Gen Rush from a SWF is rare, especially at lower-mid ranks (20-11). Occasionally you'll find surf accounts but it happens. But purple tool boxes with BNP and Prove Thyself don't happen and these are Gen rushers.

Gen Rush is more of killer not able to apply pressure to survivors. What else are you to do than sit on a gen for 80s? You can do bones (I love Inner Strength + Small Game lol) but those are harder to find than gens.

With that being said, killers are forced to run certain perks to slow down the game. Corrupt Intervention, Ruin, Sloppy + Thano, Thrilling Tremors, Oppression + PGTW are all great perks to use. These are meta for a good reason.

I played against a Plague that completely slowed the game down that we had also no choice. Corrupt Intervention, Ruin, Undying Light and Thano. By the time Corrupt Intervention was up, they had some Undying stacks and infected the generators (Thano stacks). When it came down to the last gen (with ruin gone) it took so long that they were able to one shot us down since we weren't cleansing

  • I started last summer so ill give my preference.

    1. If you are struggling to find survivors then I'd say Doctor. Static Blast + Whispers is a fantastic combo so you don't waste his best locating tool. Whispers is a general perk which is one of Doctor's best. His shock therapy takes getting used to, but it can deny survivors loops and certain actions (vaulting, unhooking, etc.)

    2. If you are good at finding survivors then I'd say try Bubba. Bubba gives the BBQ perk, which is great on all killers and for BP gain. He's also not a killer who is usually bullied imo. You can run Whispers + BBQ for locating perks. Also Spies from the Shadows is good. Most survivors will run away if Bubba is near.

    3. Wraith is another great starting to help with loops and mind games. He got buffed recently and is fun. I like Whispers + sloppy Butcher + NOED on him. If you happen to unlock All Seeing Blood + Coxcombed Clapper add ons then have fun lol it'll let you see auras within 12m and your bell is silent. NOED and wraith are just a good combo.

In general its good to remember that killer grind is a marathon. A win isn't necessarily a 4k every time. Goal is to learn good plays and maybe get a few BBQ stacks. Look at the dailies and tome challenges. They will help you to get the BP to grind killers up.

  • Its quicker 100% but depends on day. Sometimes almost instant at most 2 minutes. But definitely towards the former with most queue times 30-45s range

  • When I play Doctor I don't see Spine Chill as often and it doesn't make a difference because I'm Doctor lol

But playing Wraith it feels like at least 2/4 survivors run it at mid ranks. Im running wall hack Wraith with Coxcombed Clapper. So they don't see me behind walls nor do they hear me, but they still run off.

As survivor I run Spine Chill because I play while son/wife is sleeping and I can't turn up volume too loud. So Spine Chill is a visual notification of killer, including stealth killers.

hey guys, i just wanted to vent about some game mechanics & see if y’all had any advice on how to better deal with them. so, typically i play as both survivor & killer, with a slight bias towards survivor, but recently i’ve lost pretty much all interest in playing killer due to the frequency in which i get paired with SWF. now, i should preface that i don’t actually have a problem with SWF, and i’m not one of those killers who thinks all SWF are bully squads lmao. however, it’s the matchmaking when it comes to SWF that has made the killer experience absolutely exhausting. yesterday i had five games in a row that were all SWF, where at least two of the survivors were red rank. i’m a rank 15 (and pretty much staying there for the time being since i can barely get any hooks, let alone kills, with these groups), so at my current experience level, these teams are pretty much un-counter-able. i don’t wanna start camping & tunneling people, but it’s getting to the point where that’s the only way i can secure kills. any more experienced killers have any tips on how to deal with these groups? i’ve unlocked the teachable hag & bubba perks so far, & am currently working on getting myers’. also if it helps, i favor the doctor & ghostface right now.

I would say play a different time if possible. SWF have to coordinate times, so if you're playing peak times then so are SWF. Im rank 11-12 now (no rank reset so I'm paired with former purple/red ranks). If you struggle that much, then begin slugging. Its the best way to slow down SWF. Don't camp as they will slam gens and then proceed to rescue off hook with BT. Tunneling can help, but its easier on the weakest, but you hurt the team the most if its the strongest.

If you see flashlights in lobby assume somebodys going to hit you when you pick up hooked survivor (get used to looking at walls and looking up/down). You could run light born if you see more than one flashlight in lobby. Also hangman trick could be interesting if you see a survivor as you hook somebody.

As a fellow Doctor main, its hard. You are essentially M1 killer with great locating perks. Im not sure of your build but mine is Whispers/Corrupt Intervention/BBQ/Surge and it carried me to rank 11 pretty easily. Corrupt helps you early game. You can tunnel 1 person out from the beginning or at least get them to 2nd hook state. Surge is because there's no time to waste kicking gens. BBQ follows similar logic to hook somebody and then go find next chase. Don't camp unless you have 2 hooked in the same area and there's at least 3 gens left.

What is your current build for Doctor and GF? Whats your playstyle like?

  • @Northener1907 said:

Dexter will get new season and he is one of the popular killers. And i think he would be good for DbD.

Dexter Morgan as Killer and James Doakes or Debra Morgan as survivor or both. What you thinking, would you excited for that?

I enjoyed Dexter, but I don't think he would be a good candidate tbh. He mainly uses drugs to incapacitate his victims (who are bad per thr code) and then proceeds to dismember them. He can't do this with the hooks, and a sleep mechanic is with Freddy already.

Even James or Debra as survivors are a little meh. You have Detective Tapp as the edgy police officer. We do have 2 chainsaw users, so its possible to have 2 similar survivors but I doubt it tbh.

  • I'm into wraith now and am thinking of trying the below build for lolz

    Hex: Haunted Ground

    Hex: Undying

    NOED

    Corrupt Intervention

Purple wind storm and all seeing aura.

Corrupt is for early game pressure. HG+Undying is for more pressure early game. With gens locked out they will go totem hunting and trip Haunted Ground, which Undying transfers to 2nd dull totem.

To round out end game you bring NOED since they probably will either cleanse NOED or Haunted Ground at the end.

Or if they choose to not do totems then I have Undying + NOED in end game.

I'm still unlocking perks but I am excited to try it lol

I would love the idea if it was for an original characters, not getting any tyrants from a Re chapter would feel like a punch in the gut.

I guess you could do a generic zombie hoarde, but it depends on which way RE and BHVR go. I think if they put out 2 relevant survivors with meta changing perks, that the bulk of the players would be happy. So they could go for zombie hoarde without breaking the models or weakening lore.

Well,Freddy was only powerful in the dream world, anyway, I dont remeber how much of a "god" (how he calls himself) he really ia,but sams. The amount of weapons we need against them is insane. Put Leo or Chris running away from killers seems fine (considering that, specially in the first Res, the combat were very hard)

Well I've see a notable minority betting on Lickers

I said Licker too and people poo poo that idea.

There were concerns over a 4 legged monster since it doesn't fit the model. I still think its a good idea

  • I feel like the minority who thinks it'll be a zombie hoarde as the killer lol

With the exception of a few killers, most killers are one dimensional with their powers which have been usually enhanced by the entity. Many if them are still human (Trapper, Huntress, Trickster, Huntress, Myers, Hillbilly, Bubba, Ghostface, Gunslinger, Twins, etc.). Others that got enhanced are Nurse, Spirit, Hag, Wraith, Oni, etc. Freddy is probably the only one who got nerfed lore wise.

I enjoy RE but the majority of the villains require an insane amount of weapons to combat. We are going to pit 4 survivors with flashlights and pallets to stop them? The only ones that make sense to me are zombies. They have the limitations since they are human based, but can be buffed by entity. I don't think Capcom would allow their main villains to essentially be neutered as it'll show them as more of a joke where Ethan needs a dedicated arsenal to take down Lady D, but Dwight is over here smacking her around with flashlights and pallets.

I am hoping for zombie hoarde as villain and 2 classic RE survivors.

  • @Clevite said:

I think it is a very balanced perk. You get a very powerful perk that has a clear counter. It entices the killer to leave the hook as well rewards them for playing well.

Great way to put it. From a killer perspective, it goes great with Undying. You can even run a fun build of Undying, Haunted Ground, Devour Hope for fast snowballing. I saw OhTofu did a build with Devour Hope, Undying, Make your own choice and something else on Wraith.

From a survivor side it can be countered by doing totems from the beginning and even small game got huge buff with the decreased field and totem counter.

    Purely opinion based.

Killers rated highly are fun to play against, and overall give survivors good chases.

Some boring killers, though chase heavy, get lower rated (e.g., Legion and Pig).

Assumption that killer is not using game changing addons or facecamping (e.g., Tombstone Myers or facecamp Bubba).

Hillbilly, Demo players are the most chill and they play good fun matches imo. Worst one has to be Bubba in almost all circumstances. Ive yet to encounter a fun Bubba.

Recently I started playing as Wraith (normally a Doctor main) and main he is fun lol I would think Doctor is less fun to play against. I have so many DC's with him. I had 3 people DC before Corrupt ran out :/

  • @SoySensual said:

It really takes too long now to find a match and even more so at night, I don't have time to spend 24 hours playing, and when I do I'm just playing lobby simulator.

Hey devs, can't you put a fast match option, or excite the people who play killer? because I see that there are few people who play killer

Killer lobby is within 2 minutes and survivor is about 5-7 mins so not terrible

  • @Asssblasster625 said:

I thinks it’s more of the people don’t know how /want to play against him so they end it first hook. And the amount of 3 gens that end up happening with him is insane, which makes it really easy to secure those last few kill. but even with all this I’d call him low A tier to top B tier at most

Thats a fair statement. Survivors not willing to learn to play against a certain killer and suiciding on 1st hook makes it hard for remaining teammates to complete the objective. 1 DC a match could inflate the kill rate to 75% in the stats, but either way Doctor is still getting the kills whether through DC or suicide. So the fact that his gameplay and style forces these things to happen allows him to better complete his goals pushing him up in tier (not the best, but up)

I think an interesting stat would be to see who most survivors DC against. But I wouldn't want players to intentionally pick specific killers to force DC to happen.

  • @Asssblasster625 said:

when will people stop using those kill rate. It was so high be because not a lot of people play him. All of the mobility and training killers got better with star struck. I feel like he’s seen often because he’s easy to play has,and new player friendly with his tracking ability

I'm not saying he's perfect or the best killer and I do agree about Starstruck (running double calm + distressing + starstruck is just stupid).

For the stats though he had a pick rate in red ranks of 5.69% which is literally right behind Freddy at 5.75. He was number 8 picked overall and number 2 with kills. Even in general he's picked #3 behind huntress and PH. So its either he's picked often and does well (which matches what I said) or most survivors either don't encounter him (which doesn't make sense with pick rates) and/ or they don't know how to play against him.

  • He had 2nd highest kill rate behind Freddy in red ranks based on BHVR data released Q4 2020 and was number 4 in kill rates in overall ranks.

Doctor got new tools with Starstruck since then and even buffs to Iron Maiden. Even with Lucky Break getting buffed, he can quickly restart chases with Static Blast.

I think meta is shifting more in his favor and he is a versatile killer who even green/purple ranks don't know how to play against him. Im rank 11 rn and I get matched with purple and red and have been fairly consistently getting 2-3k with Doctor.

  • Doctor/Huntress are top tier so why wouldn't they be used a lot.

Trickster/Demo/Wraith are new or had recent changes so people want to try them.

Bubba/PH are good killers and easy to pick up.

So usage makes sense. As I climb rank though, Nurse is seen more often.

as promised here again with more stats, gathered from 52 games played as killer (was supposed to be 50 but didnt wanna screw up the accuracy so i included those 2).

here's the link to the last post if you are interested: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/237753/some-stats-before-the-new-chapter-pre-nerfed-ds/p1

So here's an overview on the general stats. a damn good killrate of 93 percent is an improvement from the last time.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/STZZTNCG172H/1-png.png

Now we go to the top survivor perks,

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/YAUBMQ1XCDDY/2-png.png

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/FDASBOBPR3S3/3-png.png

as expected DS is no longer the top perk but it didn't just disappear as the forum posts makes one believe, it went from 1st to 4th but the amount of DS i ate after the nerf went down like 95 percent, now i have to go out of my way to eat it, it's almost as if i never tunneled in the first place. Surprisingly WGLF made it to the top list out of nowhere, other than that everything else is the same.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/500CQQJX5APR/5-png.png

My top used perks, mostly played deathslinger and didn't have that many good perks on him so i took NOED with me till i got them other than that everything else doesn't stand out that much

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/9Q89C3LXUFMQ/4-png.png

My rank and the average rank i played against. overall good matchmaking, most were in my ranks and usually the rainbow teams were SWF so matchmaking can't really be blamed there.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/AT0O3KC0089G/6-png.png

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/SPM8WCA3AFLF/7-png.png

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/ZJDKAJ66TLXW/8-png.png

Many hatch escapes which is fair play but my kill rate would be even higher if they had not happened :((

Thats the end of the stats, I'm going to keep gathering them for those who like seeing stats regularly :)

now again some words from me, NOED is completely fair IMO as i there is already many perks and even an item designated to counter totems, if you get hit with it often and don't like it maybe change the Iron will and dead hard to detectives hunch and small game. The endgames is still considered "The game", you are still playing even after the gens are done so don't think your win got robbed.

i wasn't really a deathslinger fan before but this time i got the urge to play him and fortunately did good with him, i even had a 33 winstreak but i lost it.

got much less hate messages this time around but the ones i got were straight up stupid, like if you don't have anything to say after the match don't drag down my IQ just to understand what your saying.

here's some bonus toxic chats, for some reason what ever i do is considered tunnel and camp and somehow i never get punished for it.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/MABNU3W3P13C/3-png.png

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/74S8E37AD07T/6-png.png

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/LOS89LXJ2H9A/1-png.png

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/JKZNAJ2XUVG5/lwq00qbbna841.png

    :((((

Good analysis! Just a few points for constructive criticism:

    1. You should have a comparison of stats before and after. Paragraph is okay but seeing even simple columns (perk, former rank, current rank, rank change) would visualize it.

    2. I would keep your eyes on Lucky Break and Iron Will climbing quickly. These two may climb quickly.

    3. Do you happen to have map data? It's would be interesting to see if graphical updates have had an impact on game. Coldwind is so different now (not necessarily layout, but overall tone). I'd be interested in seeing if brighter map benefits killers (nice try hiding Blendette!) Or survivors (stealthy killers struggle more)

  • @xenotimebong said:

I’m not sure putting killer perk stats or killer played stats is that useful to anyone if you only played killer games, tbh. They don’t actually represent anything except what you personally like to play.

Its good to see the matchmaking aspect. It shows that over the 52 games, matchmaking was decent for the analysis. His own stats is more flexing though lol

I know there are many posts about "unfair" survivor / killer perks, addons, abilities around here, and I don't want this post to be one of those. I'm not whining, I wanna know what ya'll think about that, and instead of being flamed for my post being toxic / me being entitled, I'd be happy about advices for how to play against that.

I'm talking about Michael's red addon. I think it is too strong, because I think it is impossible for Michael to lose a game when he plays that perk. Nothing's stopping him. I am aware that playing stealth would be a good idea, also to spread out a little, but since gens HAVE to be done, he WILL find survivors sooner or later. Combined with his lunge attack, I think this is impossible to beat for survivors.

Michael is one of my 3 main killers, but I have never played this addon and don't plan to do so. This is NOT about survs vs killers, so please don't hijack my thread for that stupid war. I just want to know if ya'll agree or not, and if you have some good strategy to at least have a chance against that? I've faced 3 Michaels using it today and it's really frustrating to feel like we haven't the slightest chance.

Its okay at best lol if you can get it going then sure. Infinite tier 3 is balanced by the amount of time it takes to stalk that much. Corrupt Intervention/Ruin would be needed to guarantee enough slowdown for you to tier up before most gens are done.

I personally like Scratched Mirror Myers a lot more. It causes more jump scares and gives me wall hacks 32m away.

  • I think there's a difference here. Are you saying usability or success? Both are different imo.

Usability: simple powers, easy to learn. Easiest is Bubba and Trapper. Former is easy (find and chainsaw, don't hit walls) and latter is M1 with traps. Hardest would be Spirit (sound based which is hard) and Blight (Pinball around the map). Usability of powers is hard for new survivors, but may lead to hard games (Trapper games at rank 20 against ok survivors can be painful)

Success: these killers will help survivors learn the game better and lead to better success. Best would be Doctor and Legion. Both have the ability to find survivors quickly which is a problem most survivors have at first. Hardest would be Plague, Blight. Plagues power has the delay of infection and when she projectiles. Blight again is a hard because of pinballing. Both of these need some experience before jumping in imo.

I've been playing the game for a few hundred hours now and every match seems to be against a bunch of rank 1-4 survivors (as a rank 8-10 killer), which would be fine if not for the fact that they all run the same perks, they're almost always good at looping and wasting my time and without gen slowdown perks it's next to impossible to assert any amount of control over the game. Gen tapping is one of the most annoying things I've come across and I don't understand why it's even a thing still - it takes me several seconds to kick a gen (which does basically nothing) and they can just tap it, even mid chase with no drawbacks.

I'm all for getting better as killer and I am trying, but it feels like I'm playing at 110% all the time and it's too stressful knowing that the survivors aren't even having to try, as evidenced by them constantly clicking their flashlights at me and dicking about. I've bought some of the DLC killers that I thought would fit my playstyle more and to get more perks but every game just feels like a bullying free-for-all for the survivors and it's making me actively detest this game. There's no happy medium for difficulty, it went from potato-brained survivors which wasn't fun to swf groups that make me want to throw my monitor out of the window.

Killer is more stressful at all ranks tbh. Your performance determines the overall pace of the game. Its 4v1 from the beginning, which you are at your weakest. Failure to apply pressure will cause "gen rush".

Some meta perks/killers will help, but most survivors at the high ranks are prepared for those killers/builds.

I try to go into matches expecting very little (BBQ stacks and some good recordings of good plays on my part) and try to not worry about rank or pipping. I tend to do better and have a good time, which in turn reduces stress.

If looping is an issue, then maybe you can practice looping in a custom game with some if these survivors and get feedback. Im not sure if you play mind games or are holding W the whole time, but these can help.

You can also play survivor to learn how they loop which will help you as killer, as well. I find alternating between killer/survivor to change the stress level.

I'm in a similar boat btw. I'm rank 11 and I'm seeing red and purple ranks. Some of them loop me for days (at that point its better to drop chase and find somebody weaker) but others I stomp since they really don't have a place in those ranks because their team carried them. The latter point especially shows that rank doesn't mean as much for survivors. They can have awesome teammates or a weaker killer and still perform well. Or, they can follow the rule of 2 and still go up.

Once new MMR goes live it'll be better I think. If you are struggling at rank 10 with your main then go play rank 20 with a different killer.

  • @Jmang1245 said:

I mean, what are you guys thinking? Hide Somewhere so it wastes one of the killers perks and denies them pressure in the early game.

I run Corrupt with Doctor, so there's no hiding from me lol

I usually find survivors early since they almost always spawn where the blocked gens are. It helps me get great pressure

If not, is there any useful perk against it?

It feels like fighting a perpetual BBQ sometimes (with its differences).

Calm Spirit just stops the screams. I saw once that static blast went off and I saw the outline in front of me but there was no sound.

You are still tiering up in madness, so illusionary doctors are still there. They are great at helping me determine where survivors are. I had a survivor hide in a locker in killer shack. But little did they know that an illusionary doctor appeared on the outside of the building facing them as they entered the locker. They didn't even know if the neon sign pointing to them lol

  • Feeling Lucky doesn't really encourage looking for hexes since there's no ruin or other visible hex. They would be wary that it could be HG and probably won't cleanse.

Don't get me wrong, Since I main him and Plague (of all things), to me personally he is in the A-B tiers when I play him due on the incredible diversity/freedom he has in all the possible builds you can make for him, all of which completely change his gameplay, and make the Doc the most unpredictable killer in the game. However, the reason I'm ranking him in the C-D Tiers is simply because not many other players realize this, and just play builds that enhance his M1 killer gameplay, just like they do any other standard M1 killer.

His power has a hell of a lot of utility that most people don't realize. When I saw a vid of a team of survivors doing heal tech at the gate against a doc, and watched the doc player lose miserably because he kept hitting the healing teammates, or When I saw another Wherein a Doc was chasing a survivor with a key to a closed Hatch, and he went for a swing, I just wanted to scream "Shock them you Idiot!" as it would have prevented both escapes. Only a seasoned Doctor player realizes this, but for the majority of Doc players out there, all they care about is his Anti-Stealth, and M1. My position for him on the Tier list was never about how I play him, and how fun I find him... It was simply about his limitations that are advertised in almost every video of his gameplay out there, and how so many players are playing him wrong.

When he first came out, I was probably one of the only players that realized his potential for total map control, and I made my build around that in order to dominate survivors: Old Calm 3 and Order 3 (massive TR and 25% faster madness gain rate within his static field), Old Tinkerer (Used to make his Static Field drive madness up 10% faster), Distressing, Unnerving Presence, and Overcharge.

With this build, Survivors gained a madness level literally every 10-15 seconds on Avg in his static field depending upon his proximity to the survivors, and gave Doc so much control over the map and gen progress. All of that has changed now though, but mostly for the better, and yet, people still don't take advantage of any of this. They call all of his Versatile and unique builds "Meme Builds" and choose to ignore them. That's Why I put him so low on the Tier list. Not because of how I play him, but because of how the majority of players do.

Shocks work on hatches too? I'm not new, but didn't know shocks do that.

I agree. Most doctors aren't great, but the ones that are good are decent. I'm rank 12 now. I have videos of denying hook grabs and pallet vaults. But lately timing has been off and I keep discharging a little too late.

Personally I'm ok with the skin... but just don't think this:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/WF04MHXWYZLV/doc1-png.png

Comes across as threatening as THIS:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/KVRF2QJQ9MNZ/doc2-png.png

IDK... I just feel that, for some reason, the reskinning of Doc's cosmetics make him much more imposing than the CryptTV Cosmetic...

On the bright side though, The CryptTV Versions weapon takes up a hell of a lot of less screen space than any of his other weapon cosmetics do, so... it's not a total loss for those who purchase it! (The same can't be said for the poor Huntress CryptTV skin)

I like bile Doctor, but I really enjoy the CryptTV weapon. Are we able to mix and match, or is it a legendary skin so we can't?

The doctors I've been facing have had extremely large blast areas and are making a lot of hits and quick recoveries that they don't have the perks or addons for.

If this is not a thing that's fine but sometimes it feels like something is up.

Any post game screenshots of builds? It could be Distressing/Double Calm Doctor which gives him a huuuuge TR.

Could also be STBFL with successful hits.

Doctor is getting more attention with Freddy nerf, graphic updates and new cosmetics.

Static Blast has a cooldown of 60s with a maximum of about 15s with double order add ons. So if you see static blast significantly with faster than that it could be hack

  • At first I think its easy compared to say one shot killers like Bubba.

But then I see Trapper gets 1 person, traps an area like crazy and gets 2 more while I'm on a gen watching this happen.

Then I decide to go look for hatch lol

  • I think he means you trade 25% of one gen to complete 15% of another.

    Hex: Shining

A Hex that affects all totems in the trial. All totems are shown as if they are lit (including to the killer).

The Hex effects persist as long as the related Hex Totem is standing

Match it with Hex: Retribution and Hex: Haunted Ground lol

  • Hex: Shifting Winds

Every 70/60/50s Hex totem will shift to random dull totem. Every shift will result in 1 token, maximum of 5 tokens. Each token will result in +5% movement speed, which will persist until Hex totem is destroyed. Killer gets notified of every shift. If totem is being cleansed at time of shift, it will not shift. If there are no more dull totems, then hex totem will not shift.

Idea is to patch up slower speed killers or make faster killers even scarier. 4.6 killers will move at 5.75m/s so the goal is to have a climax mid game. Pair it with Corrupt Intervention and Undying and you will end chases very quickly. Undying guarantees it won't be destroyed right away and long shift times gives survivors ability to to find totem and cleanse it before it racks up too many tokens.

Edit: this is a high risk/high reward build. If your totems are broken early or if you run too many hex perks then its possible you have 3 wasted perk slots after 180s (Corrupt, Undying, Shifted Winds). Then you could get stuck with one last inconsistent perk like BBQ or PGTW.

Just had this game as trapper, I had a meg on hook and the other three survivors chose to do gens over getting Meg (was not camping at all btw). She then went onto second state on hook and they saved her last second. They had no toolboxes or perks to speed up generators and the gens were done in less than 4 minutes. In my opinion that is what gen rush is.

Does this seem fair to you? What do you believe gen rush means?

Thats an issue right there with Trapper and how you may have played him, not gen rush. He doesn't have strong map pressure and really needs that time in early game to set up. Corrupt Intervention is almost a necessity on him. Hes not a killer who can stop and kick gens as he can't make up the speed later on (i.e. Hillbilly, Spirit, Hag, etc.). The fact that the gens popped at 80s each that they were working on them as you were chasing Meg. She got hooked as they were finishing the last 2 gens and rescued her before she got to stage 2. Maybe you engaged in another chase before it she got hooked, but that point was too late unless you started to slug.

Gen rushing imo is team full of purple toolboxes with BNP and perks. You can't do much to stop them at that point, but its key for killer to identify strong 3 gen and slug if necessary.

Same here. I really wanna try it out because it looks like it could be interesting on a high mobility killer. Kick a gen, see them fail the skill check in the distance and then you can be there in like 10 seconds flat. Could be very oppressive (As the name may imply). However, lord knows I don't want to buy the Twins again. Not with shards and not with IRL money. I purchased them in the past and simply didn't enjoy them at all. Luckily I was able to get a refund (Thank you, Steam) but unfortunately, that also meant I lost the ability to get her teachables. Oh well. We'll get lucky with the Shrine one day.

Oppression and Pop are a fun combo. I paired it with Doctor for tremendously difficult skill checks.

I'm almost done leveling up Blight for Undying so not that lol I need about 100k more.

Iron Maiden, Infectious Fright are my next top perks. I don't want to buy Legion and unlocked Corrupt from Plague already. I don't feel like dumping more BP into Plague.

i feel like using an entire build just to make one play isnt a good idea...

Its a combo build for consistent play, not a meme build.

WGLF/BT/Deliverance focuses just on safe unhook.

Inner Strength/Detectives Hunch/Head On/Deception is about locker mind games.

You could even run plunderers build (plunderers, Appraisal, pharmacy, etc.)

You could pair Q&Q, Dance, Lithe with multiple perks. Idea is to evade killer which is the point of the game. You can run Diversion, Urban Evasion.

Not every build has to be generic and fits peoples different playstyles. If you like engaging killer in chases then try a build. If you like self caring in bushes then do that. If you like totem hunting then do that.

Let's not even mention killers who run dedicated builds around certain maps or survivor lobbies.

  • @HighVelocityTicTac said:

I've never played this game and I don't intend on getting it, but I've been looking at both lithe and sprint burst, and all I see from them, is that you can activate sprint burst at anytime, but you can only use lithe when you fast vault, so why would you ever pick lithe?

You can pair Lithe with Quick & Quiet and Dance with Me to Houdini mid-chase. They don't see the rushed notification thanks to Q&Q, they don't see any scratch marks thanks to Dance and then you zoom out the window with Lithe.

You can even run Urban Evasion to fake the Lithe and get the killer to leave the area completely.

Sprint Burst is just that, to sprint away. Lithe has more mind games to it.

  • I'd be happy if we had Nezuko from Demon Slayer. Seeing her run away from killer would be fun lol

Even her blood demon art can be great perks. Exploding blood can blind killer 1x a match.

As killers go, I like Rui a lot. That battle was so great and the webs can be a ranged attack or a trap

  • Iri King and Queen are not the same tier imo. The static charge from Queen doesn't compare to King inflicting all of those madness conditions. Fake pallets, illusionary doctors (aka locating doctors for me), TR. Ive seen survivors make so many mistakes like throwing pallets down randomly or try hiding in lockers when there's a doctor right in front of them as a big neon sign. Queen will be situational because it depends on if survivors work together. If they don't work together then Queen has 0 value since they're not passing the static charge off, while King will give you consistent results every game.

  • @Drixpy_Jayyy said:

When survivors complain the devs take action immediately but when killers complain the devs just be like "nahhh your fine deal with it and we will be nerfing a killer and their perks."

80% of the match is survivors, but they can't have matches without killers (unless they turn on AI). So, killers are the bottleneck to queue times being longer for survivors. So even though there are more survivors they need to take care of the killers since they affect overall gameplay. No killers= no game.

But with that being said I think they have been balancing the game between the two roles. Look at Small Game. Its a huge buff for survivors (totem counter, decreased cone for more accurate detection) but also a killer buff (no more traps detected so buff to Trapper, Hag, etc.). Even OoO got a similar treatment. With it being every 30s, the killer can set up without being blocked at every turn while survivors get to figure out the perks with the aura reading

  • It is! I've found survivors hiding in lockers since Whispers was going off, but Static Blast hit nothing. It could be Calm Spirit, but most time its locker lol

Static Blast cooldown is too long. Shock Therapy is great but doesn't do damage (unless you count migraines for survivors!)

Clown gets 3s for bottles, Bubba and Nurse replenishes charges quickly. You only get 8-10 static blast per match. Missing one with no early game pressure will result in gens flying. Whispers helps alleviate that issue. Id rather wait and guarantee hits than waste one of Doctor's best attributes.

I used to play whispers, but Iron Maiden complements Static Blast so well, and the occasional exposed hits are juicy.

Yeah I'm thinking of pairing iron maiden in there since it got buffed (don't have it unlocked yet and am working on Undying rn).

My current build is BBQ/Corrupt Intervention/Whispers/Surge for Doctor.

I'm thinking of dropping BBQ for Iron Maiden or Starstruck. I like playing really aggressive with Doctor lol

  • @nursewannabe said:

I feel completely lost without it, it's incredible what a crutch perk it is for me

Need those voices in my head

Whispers is a great, if not the best, locating perk i don't think its crutch. I mean loon at the options.

BBQ: you have to find survivors and hook them to make use if it.

Discordance: how often does it happen that this perk won't go off.

Ruin + Surveillance: this is okay if ruin isn't broken

Spies from the Shadows: Urban Evasion lol

Doctor Static Blast: Goes off and nothing happens. Are they hiding? Are they running Calm Spirit? Have to wait 60s now.

Tinkerer: gen is at 70% all the way across the map

Bitter Murmur: you gain info at the cost if a gen

Scratched Mirror Myers: Slow boy with no lunge lol

Undying: 4 totems spread throughout the whole match to reveal location on the off chance they appear.

I mean seriously, the options are bare. Whispers is consistent and methodical. I think it should be basekit for killers tbh.
