Having seen the trailer, all I can say is THANK YOU. I'd be very surprised if my suggestion wasn't the catalyst for the new killer(s).
-
I made a suggestion back in June for a killer with multiple bodies. I believe the devs listened. HYPE!
-
No. I don't even have that perk unlocked, but if I did, I wouldn't use it.

I’d totally be on favour of additional challenges for those who own the pass!
That's too close to being able to purchase bloodpoints. I'm 100% against the idea.

Not as far as I know.

You're only looking at it as if it's only your game, and everyone wants to play like you, if they hide and you have a problem then either find them or leave. There are different play styles even if they are shabby. I agree that it's not the best and it defeats the whole point of the game, but you either have to lump it or leave it.
This is not a play style, this is holding the game hostage and it is against the rules.

I'm super new to DBD and not very competent at these kinda games in general, but I've run into more than a couple adorably wholesome killers and survivors. It's been a pleasant surprise considering the gloom I tend to see about the game. Been having a blast playing and spreading the positivity.
💗
I'm very glad to hear a new player is having a good experience with the game. Welcome to the Fog.

Why may I ask? the scream sure screams banshee/bean sidhe. but the low to the ground and crawling makes me hesitant on that.
Aren't Wendigo supposed to be massive creatures? They also don't scream like that, as far as I know.
-
Nobody knows for sure, it's all speculation. I think it's a Banshee.
-
The better question is, why aren't you cleansing totems if NOED is as prevalent as you claim?
-
@quoclong said:
And u can mathematically DEPIP and get 4K/DC so what is your point?
My point is that your claims of being able to pip while letting all survivors escape do not apply at red ranks.
@quoclong said:
And then through your logic Phaeris, HIDING from killer (crying about holding hostage) is not against survivors objective (and that is to survive). And again IDK what world can u consider a 3K 1E a loss for a killer, well unless u r a try hard main killer only that thinks 4k is the only way to win.
Hiding without any intention of doing the objective is indeed holding the game hostage.
-
@quoclong said:
There is a difference between slugging and letting a full health person bleed out just to get 4th kill. AND NO a killer does not lose in 3-1 escape ratio. What logic are u using? PIPPING? I can pip by letting all 4 survivors escape!!! is that a win for killer? Killer can get 4k and a survivor can PIP+ so did killer lose?
You cannot let all 4 survivors escape and pip once you rank up enough, it's mathematically impossible.
-
@quoclong said:
There is NO PROBLEM of survivors holding game hostage. In fact it is the opposite. Too many try hard killers will leave a guy on the ground to get the 4k. To the point that he will bleed out from being first downed and then dying just so that the killer can waste time finding last survivor and get the useless 4k (because we all know killers LOSE if they 3k and 1 escape for god knows what reason).
Letting a survivor bleed out is not holding the game hostage.

The Banshee

I initially had the same thoughts, but after playing against the Pig several times, I can assure you it's better that the white "auras" are not treated as such.
Being on Lady Luck's daily ######### list means you'll have to search every single box, which can often lead to you having only a few seconds remaining. If the Pig could delay this process by, say, inflicting Blindness, she would effectively have a power that can kill survivors with only a single chase.
You might be thinking that having white auras work like regular auras would push the survivors to just stop gen progression, the way they should. However, that would also give trolls too much power.

Fun.

Agree to disagree mate, I'd say only the truly invested would care. Just like this current problem we have, the silent majority likely doesn't know anything about the toxic content creators plaguing us now or the ones that have in the past. But even if I accept your argument, wouldn't it be simpler to just edit out that part of the post instead of deleting the entire thread?
I don't know how the mod interface works, but I do know that people have complained about the mods "editing their comments" when all they did was move a thread.
OP can still edit it, though, assuming they even see this discussion again before the mods delete it.

I don't know who he's talking about and googling it just got me a bunch of reddit and forum complains about toxic survivors. So I would say nobody has been named or shamed if a simple google search won't give results.
Because you're too new. Anyone who's been here for a couple years knows exactly whom the OP is referring to.

Won't be long mate... All of our posts from our community have been taken down for "naming and shaming." Even though in our posts you can clearly read... "not going to name anyone.."
"Not going to name anyone, just going to give out such specific, identifying information that everyone will know exactly who it is".
The "name" in "name and shame" also refers to information that can identify individuals, not just their literal name.

DbD does have rain, in the Red Forest realm. It's one of the reasons why it's the most gorgeous realm.
I would like to see realms and maps given more "personality" than just the landscape. However, I am worried about a few things:
- Balance. These ideas would have to impact the game in such a way that changes the gameplay, but doesn't overly benefit either side. Your idea to have rain regress every outdoor gen, for example, would just break the game's balance. It's Ruin without the perk, since most maps on the Red Forest realm have, at most, two indoor gens, if I'm not mistaken.
- Complexity. If the game becomes too complicated, newbies will probably abandon it because they can't figure out how to play it. Hell, many newbies abandon the game now because they can't figure out how to play it.
- Performance. We all know DbD isn't exactly the most optimized game out there, particularly on consoles. Adding more effects could tank the framerate for a large portion of the playerbase.

I think he's referring to the notorious Survivors rule book for Killers, which is designed to make the Killers time as miserable as possible and enabling bullying by the Survivors. It's a joke among the seasoned crowd, yet to this day many people feel pressured to comply to at least some of its rules. It's baffling.
You will comply, resistance is futile.

Since this is directed at me you would be correct on both counts, i haven't read the lore and i personally wouldn't be affected if they brought a LGBT character to the game.
I was simply stating my opinion that if they did bring a LGBT confirmed character to the game i could see it as an extra excuse for someone to send hate messages ect
With that being said im all for whatever they choose. Either way it doesn't effect me. I just wanna load up the game and have some fun.
It's "directed at you" in the sense that you're someone who said that, but you're not the only one who said it, so it was more of a general statement.
With that said, hate messages get you banned, so if this helps ######### get banned it's all the more reason to support it, IMO.
@Artick said:
One questions for you people: WHY DOES IT MATTER? It has nothing to do with the game.
It's lore. Some people enjoy it.
-
The avoid feature is easily abusable, this has been discussed to death.
Pro tip: If you get an ######### twice in a row, wait a few minutes before queuing up again. That usually does the trick for me.
-
No joke: on the day this delay was announced, but a few hours before, I told a friend of mine I wasn't going to pre-purchase it until closer to the release date in case it was delayed again, because I'd rather have those 60 euros in my bank account than have them "stuck" on a purchase I was unable to enjoy.
If you're wondering why I'd pre-purchase it at all, the reason is simple. I will buy this game, it is inevitable, so a pre-purchase doesn't change anything. I'm also hoping we can pre-load it on Steam, since it's probably going to be a top seller and may cause issues with the servers if everyone tries to download the game at the same time.

No, because then there's nobody to abuse.

😂
K, define "leave". If you mean physically leave the location of your PC just alt tab or shut down in task manager or simply turn your PC off.
Game with killer AFK takes around 10-15 minutes max if you AFK and a lot less if you're survivor.
I've been broke af a lot of times in my life and am a lifelong cheapskate that hates waste in general but I've never worried about a possible maximum of 15 minutes electricity wasted by leaving a PC...especially since going AFK from the game doesn't mean you have to leave the PC location can't go watch YouTube or play solitaire or look at rebbit or waste time posting here....obviously I should get around to posting about my killer experiment where I started then went AFK for 3 hours worth of games..
Yes, I do mean physically leave the location of my PC, possibly for hours at a time, like when I had to drive my grandmother to the hospital, and I don't see why I should have to take those extra steps when there's a perfectly functioning feature already embedded in the game. Your arbitrary timeline of 10-15 minutes isn't even slightly realistic.

Wow, so many people repeating the same couple of opinions over and over and over in slightly different ways...but be it "don't wanna keep playing", "can't keep playing", "life emergency", "legit reasons" etc yada yada there is another option guys...come to the dark side-go AFK...YES AFK, brohahaha...maybe just try it one time-for poops n giggles-or to see if your ego tying your self importance and game playing abilities to your user name can survive the gut wrenching indignity of other players/opponents thinking mean things about your user name or doing awful things to your game character while you're away.
You'll still get bp and xp and you never know, it might not be as bad as you've imagined...plus no DC penalties-most times if you AFK the time the game takes to end won't be much longer than than the first/second DC penalty...it's the ideology that rank is really important and people will think/say mean things about you that'll be the main stumbling block to coming over to the dark side and going AFK..
Are you going to be the one to pay my electric bill from leaving the PC on if I have to leave?

In one case, a user sent a valid report, but with a message for the ACM team (those are the ones that deal with reports, if memory serves), then opened a thread to see if the reports actually went anywhere. Peanits replied to that user, who confirmed that, indeed, their report had been read.
Here's the thread, if anyone's curious or doubts me: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/62753/devs-its-time-to-prove-the-report-system-actually-works

Nah, it's not a waste of time. People like this also tend to be toxic in-game, so reporting them helps improve the game experience for everyone.

Yeah I’m really curious about what kind of punishment people get for chat harassment. I’ve had several people call me all kinds of horrible, hateful slurs lately and it’s frustrating that you never know if the devs even read the report, nevermind if they did anything about it.
Peanits has proven, repeatedly, that they read reports.

I mean, if it's an Emergency I won't even bother pressing Escape "leave Match". In an Emergency I'll just rip off my headset and stay afk in the Match. It's actually worse to use the leave match option in that scenario.
Unless your life is in immediate danger, the 1 second it'll take to click on "Leave Match" won't make a difference.
-
Yes, they ban people for chat harassment. However, bans happen in waves, and nobody outside the mod team knows how often they happen.

No, a change, just like the Trapper used to be named "Chuckles".

Yet you're punished for using it. 200 IQ logic right there. There at least needs to be a certain amount of strikes against a player that leaves a match prematurely before the ban timer kicks in, which resets weekly.
There is a minimum number of DC's before you're punished for DCing. Source: I had to DC twice in one day (Internet went out and had a small emergency at home) and didn't get any penalty the first time. I'm not sure about the second because I was away for too long to notice.

saying that there is no compromise is the easy way out im just too lazy right now to make one
also compromises don't exist because you want them to they exist because people make them and yes looking at this I could probably come up with a compromise for it
Well, the only compromise I can see that wouldn't favor either side is having the teams play on different maps. In other words, the way it works right now. But maybe you can find a better solution.

Dude, he's absolutely right. You're looking for a compromise where there is none because this is simply a bad idea.

7/10 on both if I'm playing without giving too much of a ######### (i.e.: most of the time). 8/10 survivor and 9/10 killer if I'm actually focused on what I'm doing.

30 seconds of default gen regression only adds an extra 7.5 seconds to a gen. Pretty worthless imo
Takes 2 seconds to accomplish, though, and you're assuming survivors have perfect timing, which they don't.

you can't know you will loss before the game even starts, that was my argument with using noed. using it means you expect to loss regardless of who you go against. If you are confident you won't loss and use it anyway your still trash for using a clutch while already being good at whatever killer your using.
Alternatively, you are confident you can win with just 3 perks, but still want a little insurance.

Numbers?!?
I got you
Monstrous Shrine at tier three will take 54.6 seconds to complete 1 hook stage, while making self-unhooked have 15% reduced luck and 9% bigger penalty for trying
What this does is make self-unhooks something survivors don't try to do in basement and makes survivors rush towards basement to prevent them from dying
55 seconds, not 54.6. It's 60/1.09, not 60*0.91. I'm fixing the wiki now.

Thanks for this post! I've always specifically disliked No Mither because I never saw any real use for it. But you explained it beautifully. Seconds can really make or break a victory, especially when you leave the potato ranks.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you should use No Mither or that it's a great perk. All I'm saying is that even if you don't get to use a certain mechanic, it doesn't mean the mechanic is useless or that you wasted a perk slot. In NM's case, the threat of you being able to pick yourself up is enough for killers to change their behavior, and sometimes that's all you need, if you plan correctly.
@SeeAndWait said:

true, it is not useless, but seems unlikely to happen. you may use tenacity and unbreakable with it.
My point is that the threat of it is enough to change how killers play, which is useful in and of itself if you play your cards right.
