You should probably get rid of hooks in the game and hanging people then. Replace them with a hole in the ground or something. Or hats labeled with entity in them.

People would argue that it’s a horror game and something like that is fine, but really, it’s just in bad taste. Suicide is still and will always be a touchy subject and a subject that is deeply rooted in the lives of many people who suffer from depression or have lost a loved one to it. It’s just for the best that BHVR doesn’t steep their toes into something like that with the risk of backlash. They probably thought the name was cool/edgy but quickly back peddled on it and settled for something that was a bit more tasteful and fitting.
A lot of people start crying about the removal or censoring of stuff like this because “oh, stop being so sensitive” or “it’s a horror game, it’s fine!”. It’s just called being a respectful decent human being (company).
Why couldn't the name be made appropriate in the first place? I can't believe that through the whole development and a few weeks after release the name was fine, but then suddenly "oh #########, somebody might get upset about an edgy name of a knife".

To be fair Joey wasn't trying to kill himself or anything during the transformation, it just says he was trying to cut himself free. Either way its a cool skin ;)

Remain respectful and do not try to joke about serious topics. It was decided to change the name for the better after careful consideration that it could possibly be harmful and upsetting for many people.

What censorship? The devs made a decision to change their product. Just because you disagree with the change doesn't mean it's censorship.

No, censorship is not what you think it is in this case. The blade was changed after concern was raised about the name possibly triggering people.
Censorship is to suppress information, speech, etc. Nothing is being suppressed - the devs made the decision to change the name of their product.
