No, you're not allowed to DC to "make a stand" or "send a message". The feature is there in case of an emergency or if you get stuck or whatever. If you want to make suggestions on how the game should be changed, there's a forum section for that.
People do indeed DC out of the blue, since "fun" is wholly subjective. Also note that you never see someone rage quitting while they're winning, only people who are losing DC.
If you DC again the penalty will be increased further. Just play normally (i.e.: without DCing) and you won't have to worry about the penalty.

You can't play with people on your platform if they have crossplay turned on and you have it off or vice versa. The icon has nothing to do with what I'm talking about.
I play on Xbox with crossplay off, and I can ONLY match with other Xbox players that have if off too. If they have it on we can't be put in a game even if everyone is on Xbox anyway.
I know what you're talking about. My point is that people know they have crossplay enabled; it's self-evident. Therefore, my conclusion is not that they're uninformed or lazy, but rather that they prefer having it on.
-
Crossplay is quite evident in the score screen, so it's not that 99% of players are "too lazy or uninformed" to turn it off. More likely, they just don't think the long queues are worth it.

I don't even understand the point you're getting at. Killer runs one perk and I have to run an entire loadout to counter it? Uh huh. Good one Jimmy.
You don't have to, no, but if you're having trouble countering it via gameplay alone, then it helps.

The thing is, you can already do it with what is available in the game. It's not like it's adding anything new to the game. It's just optimizing the amount of time the killer or any of the potential survivor groups to which the killer would connect have to wait.
If you can already do it with what's in the game, then there's no point in this. The devs have bigger priorities than making it easier for killers to cherry-pick their lobbies, especially given that cherry-picking lobbies is not a thing they want to add and shouldn't be a thing in any game.

Yes, before I get into it, I am a survivor main. I wanna talk about NOED because I think the general idea around it is really, really stupid.
Now I have a lot of hours and don't get me wrong, I don't think this perk is op, I just think it is a dumb perk. Let's think about it this way, why should any perk in the game, AND I MEAN ANY, grant you a free kill? You should not put a perk in pre-game and already be guaranteed a kill (unless you are a bad killer). Same goes for survivor, you should not be able to run a perk and be granted a free escape which to my knowledge I have never heard any streamer say, "(specific perk) grants survivors a free escape," but I have heard streamers say, "NOED only gives you one kill." Giving you one kill for losing your objectives makes 0 sense.
And the main argument I have seen is, "just cleanse all the totems!" Are you serious? This is your best argument? Cleansing all the totems is actually very hard on many maps and even harder in solo queue and if you don't believe me, take Undying/Ruin for example, sure, you have some games where ruin goes but, most games ruin stays up the whole game because of how hard it is to find all the totems and because of how much time it actually takes away against a genuinely good killer.
I also hear people say, "just run small game and detectives hunch with a rainbow map!" So since you put on one perk, I have to change my entire loadout now? Hmmmm, totally makes sense.
Once again, I am complaining about the idea of NOED and how I think it makes no sense being in the game, not it being op or anything because it definitely is not.
AND BEFORE YOU SAY "WELL THESE SURVIVOR PERKS AND THINGS ARE STUPID BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH," just because I addressed NOED here doesn't mean I think NOED is the ONLY bad thing in this game, just something that was on my mind right now. I am a very experienced player in this community mainly because I have probably spent 1000 hours watching streamers play this game and learning it so no, I'm not a mong...for the most part.
Please be kind ❤️
I also hear people say, "just run small game and detectives hunch with a rainbow map!" So since you put on one perk, I have to change my entire loadout now? Hmmmm, totally makes sense.
Yes, it does. You don't get to ignore a perk's counter and also demand to be exempt from its effects. You are playing against a killer who has three perks most of the time and still want more?

Noone is restricting anything. You bring what you want and queue up regularly. If a killer specified an unwanted item as the item which you queued up with, you won't connect to that killer but some other one. And believe me, if you don't want to wait, you'll just play with anything but that's your choice to make. On the other side of the scale, if you don't care about waiting but REALLY don't want certain items, feel free to wait and hope that's found. This makes the process of getting into a good game much cleaner.
So built-in lobby dodging, in essence. No, thanks. Players should not be able to influence the matchmaker either.
PS: I don't even use items, so this wouldn't affect me at all. I just disagree with the idea.
-
Bad idea. Survivors would pick weak killers and everyone would have very high queue times. Players should not be able to influence the matchmaker in any way.

This tells me you don’t play high ranked matches consistently in solo queue. Either mainly play killer or always with friends. Then it makes sense that you don’t know how it works.
Ad hominem already?

To be fair, if you're playing solo queue your teammates don't last long enough in chases for you to do the totems. At least in red ranks. I run small game almost every game due to the ruin/undying meta and these guys will give you maybe a totem cleanse time worth of chase each from healthy lol.
If your teammates are dropping like flies, NOED is the least of your concerns.
-
No. Neither side should be able to restrict the other side's loadout.

Because it’s -the- bad killers crutch. I’ve seen it countless times, potato killers go from 0 kills to 3-4K only because of NOED.
I never use NOED as killer. I refuse to.
If those killers are so bad, why didn't you take the time to cleanse any totems? To me, it sounds like those killers are getting a lot of value out of an easily countered perk.
-
Infinite survivors.
For those of you who don't know, there used to be a bug very early in the game's life wherein survivors just kept spawning in your trials until the game crashed. It was like those video game enemies that split into smaller versions of themselves every time you hit them.

Don't try to make it equivalent.
When a killer leaves, you can just requeue immediately.
When a survivor leaves, you have to go through the rest of the game with the hinderence of fewer survivors on your team.
Don't try to pretend it's not equivalent.
When a killer leaves, I just wasted my time in the queue because the trial was ruined. When a survivor leaves, I just wasted my time in the queue because the trial was ruined. The result is the same.
-
No. When a player DCs, they are ruining the trial for everyone else, regardless of which side they're playing.

Every multiplayer game has DC bans. Every multiplayer game has cheaters. What makes this one so different?

Or they're not responding because they have the chat closed, or because they just don't care enough to reply.

I feel the same way, but they're reworking entire maps, so it's fine, IMO. They can't do everything at once.

They already added new maps for old realms unrelated to new chapter releases, so I don't see why not.

Ngl I'm bi and I'm totally cool with no open lgbt characters. There's enough leeway in a lot of characters to make your own headcannons about their sexuality and background, that it's fun.
I think things like representation are more necessary in story-driven games, or in games like Overwatch- where the lore is insanely rich and detailed and has a lot more to it then just what little you get in game. DBD is kinda the opposite in thay regard, so lack of open representation is a 'whatever' to me.
Openly heterosexual characters are already here, and the basic lore (mostly surrounding the Entity) is actually reflected in the basic gameplay.

I left it out because I don't think it changes the fact: You can't be decaying and aging at the same time.
But I can edit it in if you think the statement is misleading without that part.
I understand that he is supposed to be an adult but I just think the lore contradict that.
I'm sorry if I was rude to you, that wasn't my Intention, this Chapter and the Devs way of handling the expectable discussion of the baby/child thing just dissapoints me, so I might be a bit unfriendly in my responses.
I do think it's misleading because the intent, as I understand it, was to imply that Charlotte was keeping Victor's body alive, even if he himself was already dead. Then there's the Entity, who can do almost anything She pleases. She could've aged Victor's body and kept it from fully decaying. Regardless, even if he died when he was 6, that's still not a baby.
I don't think you were rude, just FYI.
-
I don't get it.

The exact wording is: "Victor's corpse rotted [...] yet demonstrated resistance to complete decomposition [...]"
Not completely decaying is far from aging imo. There are mummys who are not completely decayed but I wouldn't say that they have aged.
In the end it doesn't matter for me personally, I don't like the general look of the twins (it's the wrong kind of weird imo) but I have not had experiences that make Victor particulary triggering to me.
But I think it's a rude move for people that are triggered by it to bring a child in the game (as far as I know they said they didn't want to do it) and try to justify it with the lame excuse of the same age because of twins (the twin thing is another issue, but a minor one).
Yes, and then there's this part that you left out: "as if his sister's blood still coursed through him."
It doesn't matter to me either, and I do agree it sounds like the devs want to have their cake and eat it too, but he's not supposed to be a baby.
-
Just for the record, this is not an unpopular opinion at all. It's about as unpopular as saying generator repair is dull.
- The offerings are an issue, but disabling them on the survivor side is not the answer. I'd suspect giving killers one extra offering slot (for different types of offerings) would be a better solution. Alternatively, bring back yellow and brown map offerings, but for survivors, and remove the green ones from their bloodwebs.
- This has been suggested many times, but I'm not sure how balanced it'd be.
- No. Teabagging is annoying and childish, but that cooldown is absurd.
- This sounds incredibly unbalanced.

The lore says that Victor died when he and Charlotte were children and his half-decayed corpse stayed in her body for many years. The entity took Victor and "resurrected" him.
So I don't understand how he and Charlotte are supposed to be the same age, when he was dead while she aged.
By my understanding he would be zombie toddler or child, because he was older than a baby when he died, still younger than an adult (and you get than Charlotte).
Edit: The lore says the twins were 5 years old when the mother was killed. It doesn't specify how long they stayed at the temple but the wording makes it sounds that long, so I don't think that Victor was older then 6-8 years when he died.
The lore implies his body didn't rot because Charlotte's own was keeping it alive in some fashion. It's not outlandish to assume his body aged at the same rate hers did.

it's not destroying politically correct just cause there's a baby in the game; Victor is clearly a demonic baby enhanced by entity. It's not like seeing billy sawing in half a crying and harmless toddler... the debate it's still alive, they won't put actual minors without compensating them with supernatural stuff.
It's not even a baby to begin with. It's not "PC", it's just being right. It's like (wrongly) claiming Plague was born in Peru and then saying anyone who corrects you is just being "PC". Victor is an adult, albeit a deformed one.

The entire DID community has been trying to educate people away from this harmful way of thinking about Dissociative Identity Disorder and the skwed Hollywood misinformation regarding this mental disorder.
Considering it would be named and pulling directly from a legitimate disability, I would highly doubt the Devs would make such a killer as the backlash would be huge.
"[insert name] is someone who has DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder). I didn't give this part any thought beyond that."
It shows, that's highly insensitive and you should do better research.
If all you want is a 'split' ability with AI even a realm/spirit walker or Out of body experience would work. You could even just have a nasty ghost processing a corpse, once the ghost is off ghosting the physical body can zombie about. Same power concept but not trying to add more gas to the fire that is misinformation about those suffering from extreme mental health disorders which are caused by trauma.
Fair enough. It wasn't my intention to be insensitive toward people with DID, it was just the most obvious thing (to me) because I wanted two people who behave differently in the same body. I apologize.
-
It's back up.

The Nurse is the only killer that turns a chase into skill vs skill. If you're better than the Nurse, you win. If not, you lose. Just the way the Entity intended.
If you get caught in a bad position, you should get hit - it's called a consequence. This is not a point against the Nurse so much as it is a point in favor of buffing the Demogorgon's Shred.

Nope! It opens the door as you run by. I'm not sure if you full on stop, then you might actually get in. Also you can't get into lockers after using it for a certain amount of time I believe, but I didn't try it.
That sounds very interesting. I bet I can make a "no scratch marks" build out of this...

how near is it, because i think, you could go to a exit gate but enough to release victor, then send victor to second exit gate, and see if there is anybody there, and if not, go back to charlotte, repeat, can u do that?
I think it's about the same range as the deadzone for traps.
-

it seems like victor is a versatile power. needs to change how you utilize victor depending on situation. in my mind i can imagine 5 different scenarios and how to victor:
3 gen strat, use victor to camp gens and incap/down survivors, so they can't do gens for a bit and injured
use as a chase power
use to camp
use to scout gens quick
camp 2 exit gates at same time (if charlotte can body block the power handle while docile)
i think this killer has a high skill cap and could be b tier at least. seems like victor and charlotte are like a different version of hag, better or worse i dont know yet.
Neither Charlotte nor Victor can block the exit gate switches. You literally cannot release Victor nor swap between them if you're near the exit gate.
