A series of short films about the killers and survivors from before they were taken by the Entity and until they wound up in the Fog would be nice. A single-player game about the Cult of the Entity or other pieces of lore would be very cool.
No TV shows, nor books, nor comics, though. TV shows tend to get too cash-grabby and try to prolong a series well past its expiration date. Books would be boring, just a copy/paste of what we already have in the lore. Comics would have the same problem as the books, but with pictures.

In-game feedback is monitored, but nothing is being done with the data right now.
Note that feedback is different from reports. Reports are read and acted upon if sufficient evidence is provided.

I don't see them?
I'm looking here: Marshal's Badge - Official Dead by Daylight Wiki (gamepedia.com)
I think it used to have numbers but doesn't anymore. Like... Legion's addons still have their numbers but Slingers seem to be missing.
"Add-ons support Mouse-over functionality (desktop version only): hovering over the modifier words with your cursor will reveal the values behind them."
Just put your mouse over the words and it'll show you the respective numbers.

I must admit I didn't realize that chases have a max range of 12m to start. I still stand by what I said because while they have a 12m range to start, they don't just abruptly end if the Survivor gets 12m away. Seriously... on Sunday I had about 1 proper loop at a tile in 4 Legion games. Everyone else would just drop pallet and hold W away and not force me to break it because they didn't have to.
As for Slinger having less than 16m TR... Marshal Badge and Gold Creek Whiskey exist. You have to hold ADS to do it, but you can force his TR to less than 16m. Ran 2 games with M&A + Marshall Badge + Jaw Smasher and I was able to get really close to the Survivors before they knew I was there. My numbers might be wrong because the wiki doesn't have the numbers for those add ons... but yeah. Less than 16m is entirely possible.
The wiki definitely has the numbers, I just checked.

I don't think so, no. If I buy a game for 60 euros (which is not 60 USD, despite what Steam/Valve might believe), I expect to get at least 60 hours out of it, or an otherwise amazing experience for less time. It's simply a requirement that I have as a consumer; game companies are not obliged to appeal to me, just like I'm not obliged to buy their underwhelming and overpriced games.
Here are some examples of single-player games (or at least games that I primarily play/played in single-player) I paid for and how much play time I got out of them:
Death Stranding, 60 €, ~130h
The Witcher 3, 60 €, ~300h
Dark Souls 3, 60 €, ~200h
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, 60 €, ~400h
Divinity: Original Sin 2, 45 €, ~600h
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, 30 €, ~200h
Prey, 30 €, ~70h
I don't think people are spoiled. I think people see that gaming is suffering from a "profit before all else" mentality and they want more bang for their buck.
Video game publishers report record profits pretty much every year, yet games have less play time and are just of a lower overall quality, often focusing on ways to maximize profits (microtransactions, selling a game in pieces at launch, purposefully addictive components) or just putting shiny graphics in front of players, to the detriment of enjoyable/quality gameplay.
To take an example that really annoys me, look at Harry Potter games. Fans want an RPG where you can play as a student. Instead, they made an FPS with wands, because making a good RPG is too time-consuming and more expensive than just making a standard FPS with wands and shiny effects instead of guns and bullets. These games failed miserably, obviously.
Instead of learning from their mistakes and giving the fans what they want, they went with a mobile game with an energy system (for microtransactions). The games still suck, but now they're making money thanks to people who have more money than sense.
The saying "the customer is always right" didn't initially refer to disputes between a customer and staff. It's about the fact that if your product doesn't sell, it's because the customer does not want your product and the fault lies with you. Therefore, you should adapt. Instead, video game companies focused on addiction rather than enjoyment/quality, because it's more profitable for them. Not all of them did this, thankfully, but enough that people are sick and tired of it.

dedicated servers are in over 1 year, and that is happen max half year...
okay when you say it :)
I don't know why it's happening, but I do know what is happening. The servers might have become a little overwhelmed because of the increase in players this year or your own ISP might be overwhelmed because of the increase in simultaneous connections.
-
They're being reworked.
-
I don't dodge, but I don't mind if others dodge because they feel they're not up to it. I'd rather have people dodge lobbies than DC mid-trial.
-
First one was 100% latency. It looks like your position was not correctly updated, so the server took away the interaction for a brief moment - this is plainly visible.
The second one is because two things can occur simultaneously and also latency.

Indeed, there is no other way.
Their items are not relevant, BTW, they could've just hacked those in as well.
-
Increases in speed are additive, decreases are multiplicative. With base speed being 1, this is how you do it:
(1-0.5)*(1+0.33)
Then you divide the base time (16, in the case of healing) by the result of the expression above.
If there are many decreases, you do it like this:
(1-decrease1)*(1-decrease2)*(1-decrease3)*...
And if there are many increases, you do it like this:
(1+increase1+increase2+increase3+...)

So the only way to report cheaters is in game.If they ruin your game and frustrated you if they make joke with you and you forgot to report them they will continue to cheating and make a fun with killers. I forgot to report them in game bcs I was to nervous.I recorded them and put video here and that was against the rules( I don't have problem with that) then i write to helping centar and I send video to them and I get this answer :
" Hello,
Thank you for informing us of this report. We are sorry to hear that other players are ruining your experience. As much as we would like help, I am afraid that we are unable to as we only handle support towards in-game concerns. Only our moderation team can examine and check these submissions further, and I am very sorry that we do not have the means to redirect this request directly to them.In order for them to be able to receive your report, please select "Additional player report information" as your issue when submitting a request using the Dead by Daylight Help Center.
As always, thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
See you in the fog,
The Dead by Daylight Team "
So if you don't report them in game you lose your "chance" for baning them. They continue to make a joke from you and the game. I have video recorded with them and if someone have any idea how to ban them pls write. They have extra speed urban invasion, block from hooking, teleport, unlimited unbreakable with borowed time when they stand up etc... If someone want to help to make this game better and know how to ban them pls let me know.
If you want to get them banned, you have to report them in-game and then send in your evidence. There are no shortcuts here.

Latency. I have a wired connection with 1gb connection and never experienced this after the live servers went up.
Latency has almost nothing to do with bandwidth, it's primarily about distance to the server. You could have a 1 GB connection (note: GB is different from Gb) and it still wouldn't matter if you were on the moon.

Spencer's Last Breath+Chainsaw (pre-nerf). You now have a killer who can teleport through obstacles while wielding an insta-down weapon. Good luck.

BL was always intended as a temporary mechanic to help with looping while the devs reworked the maps. They reworked several maps, now they need to know if BL is still needed or not. If it is, they need to know which loops still need reworks. If not, they need to rework Beast of Prey and permanently disable BL.

No, we don't. Too many broken builds can be made with that.

- You can easily fake this by simply switching names and pretending to be someone else.
- They suffer consequences if you simply report them - they get banned and that's the end of it.

The fact you won't even differentiate between soloq and swf tells more than enough about your hotake on this matter.
You could always add infinites back to the game that were at release (not the pseudo infinites soft killers hold onto now). Remove half of the one shot mechanics that the devs have now added to the game for the killers.
Being first found is less of a worry then.

I literally gave strategies specific to solo queue. I'm not sure how you concluded that I wasn't differentiating between SWF and solo queue when I explicitly mentioned solo queue instead of just "playing survivor".

Yeah, because you've literally reintroduced something that guarantees survivors cannot be downed by the killers. It's like giving rank 20 killers the original Ebony Memento Moris by default while making every survivor start in the dying state because their kill rates are low.

You just said there can be no incentive for survivors to be found first. And I provided you with a reason you would want to be.
I think solo Q is in a terrible state. It has always been pretty dicey; but with the repeated nerfs to survivors, the massive buffs to killers, and the overall nerfs to maps it is significantly harder than before.
Load into a trial vs. leatherface and your team doesn't know how to loop? Instant hatch game. There will be literally nothing you can do. I basically only play in a SWF these days, my tolerance for solo Q is usually 3-4 games at the most. After that I wonder why I am not farming the potatoes instead of having to play with them. I am a shameless key addict in solo Q.
And I explained why that's not an incentive, but a strategy. We're talking about survivors in general, not people who run a specific build with the intention of being chased.
-
Two events can occur simultaneously. Add a little latency and they don't even have to occur simultaneously, just "close enough".
-
MMR has been disabled for a while now.
-
Define "tunneling". Do you mean you're being chased for prolonged periods of time?

@Orion Prime example. Any skilled player knows the importance of bloodlust for countering maps that have close loops, and long loops. Then we got players like this that just go "oNlY bAd KiLlEr'S uSe BlOoDlUst". The entire dismissive comment that just assumes "the killer is bad" Survivors don't even understand the basic's of the game anymore, since it's so easy and stress free. There's 0 point for Killer's to stick around and deal with added stress of a test that's inaccurate for it's terrible timing in the first place.
Just for the record, I have notifications disabled. It was by chance that I even saw this comment.

I'm guessing those survivors were in the queue for a while, so the "acceptable ranks" kept expanding.

Decisive Strike is a perk but even if a survivor doesn't have the perk it's very existence make the killer change strategy. This gameplay change fundamentally changes how all killers play and thus how all survivors play (jumping in a locker after being unhooked to bluff decisive). I suggest that a mechanical change like Bloodlust is such a material change to the way the game is played by some killers and survivors that it should be tested on a test server that people opt into rather than change the live game.
It's too late for that now, but you can definitely write a thread in feedback and suggestions for any future events like this.
-
Bloodlust is not a crutch, Bloodlust is a band-aid mechanic that was added to give the devs more time to understand and fix looping.
-
I can understand doing something to players who don't work on gens at all, but not players who are bad at chases. You can't punish people for being bad at the game.

For year's Killer has been the most stressful job in the game - and the only "job", because playing Killer is more of performing a job than actually enjoying a game.
Then when people came to the forums to complain, every single thread is responded to with just a bunch of people copy/paste the same dismissive comments. "Just deal with it and move on" "but mori's exist" "all killers tunnel/camp" "you're just not good enough at the game" "SuRvIvEr'S hArDeR" - etc.
Unfortunately this is the game right now. They are not ever going to get "accurate data" taking more from the most stressful role to play in the game, people would sooner just not play when there are other games they can be enjoying more right now. Killer's already left, and are leaving making even less data. Players leaving because they don't want to deal with the added stress of BHVR's "test". Even less accurate data. There's 0 point to it all, and they've made a poor decision trying this test at this moment.
I get that killer can be stressful, but the fact is that BL was always intended as a temporary mechanic while the devs worked on the maps. It was always going to go away, eventually. This experiment is also just that - an experiment. The devs need to know if their changes actually worked as intended or not, or looping might never get better.
@TheButcher said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1763341#Comment_1763341
I still play Survivor 😂, it's stress free and easy. Also friends with certain people that I stick around in the game for, but for confidentiality sake - I'm not naming them.
@Orion Another prime example of the dismissive comments. "Dont' bother playing" - the whole "Take a break", "Play something else", "No one's making you play". Instead of fixing the issues with Killer. They are expected to just leave the game and come back fresh to work again later.
For the record, I agree with the idea that people do need to step back from any game they play (yet are annoyed by) from time to time, no matter what game they play or, in DbD's case, what side they main. It's not healthy to keep playing something you don't enjoy. At the very least, cooling your head will let you properly express what your issues with the game are.
-
It's healthy because it was always intended to be a temporary fix for loops, to give the devs more time to understand looping and rework the loops.
-
The whole point of this experiment is to see if it's still necessary and how it'll impact the game. By not playing, there will be less data, so the conclusion is more likely to be inaccurate. They couldn't test it in the PTB because people would mostly play the new killer. The devs need data pertaining to killers that players already know how to play (to various degrees of skill).
Also, this:
when anyone voices anything killer related they just get dismissed
is just not true. Some ideas get dismissed regardless of whom they're from or for. If I were to make a thread saying that there should only be Bloodlust 3, I'd rightfully get my idea shot down and mocked, for example.

As a matter of fact all dead space games had children of various ages in them as enemies.
Won't give any links to said monsters (wiki page), because apparently dbd is 8+ game from what you are all saying, thus gore may be censored. I don't want any kids to be demoralized.
AFAIK the 3 most memorable were:
Lurker, an infant (yes, a freaking few months old baby) that was climbing walls and jumping on your face. Also shot at you with projectiles out of its 3 tentacles from afar.
Crawler, another infant, disformed and twisted like from an old Exorcist movie. It was moving on all four legs and basically exploded once killed or near you
The Pack, this is the one you are probably talking about. Just a simple child of 6-9 yo that ran at you... In a pack of others same necromorphs, hence the name. You encountered them in ds2 for the first time in the elementary school district
Also, there was a pregnant necromorphs, either tied to a wall and birthing enemies out of its belly or walking ones that did the same once their belly was damage/ were killed.
NO ONE MADE A FUSS OUT OF IT.
For some reason it is a taboo thing in dbd, sjw/pc mentality I guess.
Victor is technically and practically a [REDACTED], there is no denying it due to how physiology and psychology works. But does it really matter at all?
If they would want to really censor it, just freaking change Victor's lore to dying just before being taken by the entity, so both of them are technically the same age body and psyche wise, then change his model to be a torso only body, without legs... Will work the same and be more creepy, because undead babies are so 2010 in terms of CrEePy.
None the less, I don't see any issues with it.
Has nothing to do with SJW/PC mentality (seriously, why do people keep bringing this up?). The devs are concerned about having their video game banned or given a more restrictive rating in certain countries. Thus, Victor is a deformed adult.

Actually, I know what the problem is: I play late at night, as in right now I'm playing some PH and it's 11.32pm my time and I just checked my opponents profiles and they're all friends but 1. When I play earlier in the day, it's way more chill.
That could be it. I usually get 2-man SWF and 2 randoms, or 2+2 SWF, but rarely 3 or 4. Furthermore, I don't usually play late because that's when all the ultra-competitive people tend to play.
To be clear, there's nothing wrong with being a tryhard or competitive. However, since I tend to play casually, it's not for me. Playing at 100% is exhausting.

Nothing about DbD is fair. I get outperked, outmapped, and outgenned far, far more than I get outplayed.
Might be a regional difference or a rank difference, since I tend to play pretty casually and thus usually hover at high green/low purple ranks on killer (on the rare occasions that I play killer on a regular basis).
However, I do reach red ranks as a survivor if I play somewhat regularly, and unless I'm going up against a super tryhard killer who absolutely demolishes everyone, the trials have been fairer as of late. I still get the occasional noob, which sucks for everyone, but those seem to be occurring with less frequency.

I'm not basing it on how i feel i'm basing it on how they have acted and have been acting. I mean where is the mmr matchmaking that was planned to be out already? I understand they are looking at everything and doing what they think will help but idk really. I've played this game since release and it's gotten better in some ways but a ton worse in others.
The MMR turned out to have bugs, so they removed it and are working to fix those bugs. They said so themselves. Would you rather they didn't fix the bugs? Because I seriously don't get this complaint.
I've also played the game since release and, IMO, it's a lot better now than it has ever been.

Apparently, according to my massive sample size of the one statistician in my life - "a lot of physicists have a crappy grasp of statistics, and a bunch of them like to just make it up as they need it". They may be biased, they say physicists think they know everything and refuse to listen to actual statisticians. Probably similar to how nurses tend to think doctors don't know crap and never listen to them, lol.
Not in my experience.

It was an objectively and demonstrably bad mechanic. How do I know this? Because it failed to fix the issue. In fact, camping became worse as a result because survivors abused it.
-
Because of bug reports, accusations of "shadow nerfs", and making the devs look dishonest.

There is no way to run a double-blind experiment in games. It's not like the devs can leave Bloodlust on for some and not others and just hope nobody notices the difference.
So yes, the stats may be skewed. Unfortunately, there's no way to avoid that, and the devs know it all too well. It comes with knowing statistics.

My friend, there is no one with any authority at BHVR that has any grasp of statistics as a discipline.
At least one of the devs is a physicist. The only people with a better grasp on statistics than physicists are statisticians - and even then I wouldn't be so sure.
