We already have plenty of Asian characters. I don't think there's any rush
Asia is an entire continent with various different cultures. However, even if we were to go with that, there are far more American characters, so there's definitely a rush for non-American characters.

Killer missed 3 times. Can´t be the killer.
Most probable thing is, even with the server sided hit detection, the system has it´s limits. It will never be as good as when the killer was the host with p2p and a good connection.
The system does indeed have its limits. Even the best system can't ignore the finite speed of light.
It will never be as good as when the killer was the host with p2p and a good connection.
Debatable. Even good connections have lag spikes from time to time.

Got it. A single sentence about wanting a family and then her husband dying (lore doesn't mention love for Nurse) is the romance you are describing.
Their tweet may imply that they have never explicitly written about a LGBTQ+ relationship, but this doesn't mean it doesn't exist. The truth is that it's just not called out either way. I would expect any new character reference to have 1-2 references like all the others., which will make those without imaginations happy.

What'd you expect? The devs aren't going to write a romance novel for every relationship.
Their tweet may imply that they have never explicitly written about a LGBTQ+ relationship, but this doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
Yes, they also mentioned that afterward, that one of the characters that has already been released is LGBT. Since the devs are adding heterosexual relationships, it's only fair that they treat non-heterosexual relationships the same way.

If i was the one lagging, the survivors should have also started stuttering around, this clearly wasn't the case
Good point. I don't think it was the killer lagging because you would've been hit several times while looping if it had been.

Where did they say such a thing?
So you are saying the devs officially have confirmed that every husband/wife reference is a heterosexual relationship and no characters are currently bisexual or other? That's an extremely odd claim. Link please.
It was implied by their tweet which stated they had been restricting themselves to heterosexual representation
Also, I question whether stating that Nurse had a husband who died is "romance", but I suppose it depends on the context.
The context is that she loved him and wanted to start a family with him.

i'm sorry but disagree, i wasn't lagging
there were other cases during the match in which the other survivors experienced some other ghost hits
There was this time in which the killer attempted to vault a window and he teleported back to the other side.
there were other cases during the match in which the other survivors experienced some other ghost hits
From whose point of view? See, therein lies the problem. If you're the one lagging, then everything looks weird to you.

Did you see the ping of the claudette? Maybe she was lagging. Also there is this thing called latency.
Latency should be equal to ping at all instants.
OP, I watched the clip several times now. My best guess is that you started lagging, but not enough to have the alert on your screen. You can tell the red stain becomes "jittery" after the first second or so.
-
You're just unlucky.
-
I thought hit validation had been disabled.
@Hoodied said:
Ugh, I'll repeat what I keep seeing
Hit Validation doesn't fix latency, Latency is changed through a difficult method that I honestly cannot explain without having it make more questions
Latency is changed primarily through one simple method: move the people closer to the server they're connected to. Because, past a certain bandwidth, that's where it (mostly) comes from, the physical distance between computers.

If any defining feature of a character in this game about escaping death is that a person is LGBQT then they shouldn't be in the game. It turns them into a status / token character instead of their own thing. There should really be discussion past that point. The only way you can even reference a character is gay is maybe in the lore mention "While he was on his honeymoon with his husband" or something and that's literally that. There is no subtle pretty way to do this in this game it's just how the game was designed. Characters don't have a personality or voice acting or interactions with other characters so it just doesn't work.
Like at this point they're better off just adding in a tome indicating a currently existing character is gay. At the same time I guarantee not everyone will fancy one of their characters retroactively being the first LGBQT character added to the game because it either makes them a target for people annoyed with the community wanting to force this idea or it's going to make people annoyed their character was used as an experiment.
Stop trying to force this it doesn't matter in this game. This is not a game where characters story matters.
Stop trying to force this it doesn't matter in this game. This is not a game where characters story matters.
Nobody's trying to force anything, the devs said they were going to do it and that's that. This thread is based on that fact.
At the same time I guarantee not everyone will fancy one of their characters retroactively being the first LGBQT character added to the game because it either makes them a target for people annoyed with the community wanting to force this idea or it's going to make people annoyed their character was used as an experiment.
We already know one of the characters is non-heterosexual, the devs just didn't make it clear which one because they were restricting themselves. Just because a character hasn't had their past relationships mentioned in the lore doesn't make them straight.

I'm talking about more than just this game, and the devs are saying it because it was pushed by various people in the community but anyways.
You don't see the significance because you're not an ass who would use that as a reason why I said it.
I just, don't get why representing the LGBT is so important nowadays. I don't consider myself a part of it as it seems unnecessary.
But my response is pretty much, why does it matter?
I don't see the significance. Just be who you are, and let others have opinions.
But my response is pretty much, why does it matter?
This is an incomplete question. To whom are you referring, exactly? Because for some people it matters (in which case I think the devs are right for doing it), for others it doesn't (in which case it doesn't matter if it's done or not, since it's irrelevant either way).

The numbers are spot on, unless you can refute it, saying I'm wrong without proof doesn't make a counter.
Survivors don't touch bones or chests at higher ranks unless it's required.
.8 of a second is useless when missing a skill check is a huge loss.
Survivors want 5 minute easy escapes, until it's handed to them, then they sit around doing nothing wanting be chased.
Incremental returns makes way more sense than diminishing returns.
Which is better? 2 gens done in 40 seconds, or 1 gen in 20?
The numbers are spot on, unless you can refute it, saying I'm wrong without proof doesn't make a counter.
Generators are an interact-able Prop and the main Objectives of Survivors in Dead by Daylight . 1 Overview 2 Generator Repair 2.1 Locating Generators 2.2 Efficiency Penalty 2.3 Skill Checks 3 Damaging Generators 4 Generator Terminology 5 Unlockables 5.1 Killer 5.2 Survivor 6 Special Generators 6.1 Lunar Generators 6.2 Frozen Cocktail Machine 6.3 Blighted Generators 7 Custom Game Mode 8 History 8.1 Old Efficiency Penalty 9 Change Log 9.1 Patch 1.4.0 9.2 Patch 1.5.0 9.3 Patch 1.8.0a 9.4 Patch 2.5.Survivors don't touch bones or chests at higher ranks unless it's required.
So choose perks that take advantage of that. If you already know what your opponents are going to do, that's information you can use to tailor your strategy.
.8 of a second is useless when missing a skill check is a huge loss.
It's highly unlikely that you only get one skill check while repairing a gen. If you can hit Great Skill Checks consistently, you'll shave off several seconds from each gen.
Survivors want 5 minute easy escapes, until it's handed to them, then they sit around doing nothing wanting be chased.
If you've already lost and they're not leaving, just open a gate and go AFK for a couple minutes. It'll be over by then.
Incremental returns makes way more sense than diminishing returns.
No, it doesn't. Incremental returns have no practical maximum, so you can just keep piling on more and more, which makes it utterly broken. There's a reason every game has diminishing returns instead of incremental returns for things like interaction speed, damage reduction, etc.
Which is better? 2 gens done in 40 seconds, or 1 gen in 20?
On average, those are the same thing.

Not untrue at all. Is the Nurse bisexual? You are assuming because she had a "husband", or that her name is Sally, that you can determine her sexual orientation. Maybe she is Trans and took a husband.
I think you should get with the times.
I know for a fact she's not bisexual nor trans because the devs have already said they were only putting romance in the lore when it concerned cis heterosexual characters.
I think you should try engaging in good faith.

Diminishing returns on gen speed means a smart team will only have a max of 2 people on any gen UNLESS it's last gen.
5 minute games are stupid and boring.
Shouldn't those numbers go the other way?
Why did you nerf skill checks? It's pointless to even try for great skill checks when it's only 1% additional progress even tho it's SKILL based mechanic.
Now the only mechanic to recognize is that more people on gens is slower than only 2 people on any 1 gen.
Diminishing returns means splitting up is smarter than staying together. IN A TEAM BASED GAME?

1% is 0.8 seconds. It might not sound like much, but it adds up over the course of a gen. With skill check builds you can shave off quite a lot of repair time.
Now the only mechanic to recognize is that more people on gens is slower than only 2 people on any 1 gen.
Slower overall, but faster for each individual gen. It's a matter of strategy.

Team game doesn't mean everyone has to stick together all the time. It just means they're working toward a common goal.

ok... Even though the tweet and post by the mod both incorporate the dbd playerbase in the decision to be more inclusive.
I keep saying it doesn't matter that doesn't mean it cant happen I just do not care for the way it is happening. People are obviously complaining on here and twitter about "inclusion". The devs had to put out a public statement regarding the current roaster and the UNINTENTIONAL exclusion of character who is officially lgbt. What the hell when have they ever had to issue a statement regarding saying they will incorporate a trait into a character of their creation. We dont even get to know these things up until release. It goes to show that the community of people have definitely gotten to the devs because they dont have to let us know and they never have.
Like I said before if it happens fine I just dont want it to happen this way like this is for some greater good.

They have not restricted themselves they were just doing normal things. If Felix was gay he wouldnt be expecting a child from his pregnant wife, maybe expecting a child from a surrogate but then where is the conflict, maybe with his husband or maybe even the surrogate wants to keep the baby idk I just have to think more outside the box now. I've already mentioned that the best and easiest background story for an lgbt character is not being accepted by family or/and society. Though I brought up another thing which is character design and perks. They would have to think about that first then tac on same sex relationships or identify as trans. Its their characters I guess they can do whatever they want but its no longer whatever THEY want. Again which is pandering and still I dont know to what extent but this has been happening to much in media.
Is it really that unbelievable that game developers - some of whom are LGBT themselves - would want to add an LGBT character?

Thank you for bringing that up, I never cared about the backstory of a character. Bhvr has given characters from what I know is of their own creation, it was not fueled by fan requests except for maybe Elodie as I did see a lot of people wondering when then next black female would comet to the game. Also im very aware of the assumption I made which was for the original poster. Is it enough for a pre-existing character or future character to have a same sex relationship in the past? My assumptions is no and im allowed to assume so.

That's fine, a lot of people don't mind the lore. However, the lore is where it will be mentioned.

And it is the same with the first LGBT character. The devs are the ones who decided to do so.

My assumption is yes because heterosexual characters are the same way. You are allowed to assume whatever you want, of course, but to have a better understanding of what other people want, it's always better to ask instead of assuming.

I dont want it and I honestly cannot stand people like you or even understand for that matter.
Race/ethnicity whatever is not the same as sexual preferences/orientations stop comparing them. There is absolutely no reason to have one because you are not just asking for someone who might be queer to be added to the game, you want a mascot. Im sure its not enough for you if Nea had a fling with another girl once. Race however is a large part of a character and there background. It literally determines what they look like. Sexual preference is not the main focus in designing new characters maybe you could give a new character a tragic backstory on not being accepted because of their sexuality but forcing it as the main trait of said character does not work in terms of cosmetics and perks. Occupation and ethnic background are the two things im sure the devs look at for new survivors. They also want to introduce a diverse cast appearance wise but again sexuality is not a factor in that. Specifically adding a "lgbtq+' character is just pandering to you guys specifically and Bhvr has never made a character with that intent.
A lot of assumptions there. Why don't you ask people what they want instead of assuming they want a "mascot" or whatever? Also, do you take issue to BHVR pandering to you?

As far as I'm aware, they use "bugs" to refer solely and specifically to software bugs and only historically used to call hardware defects "bugs".

I simply don't understand the big deal about pestering BHVR for one. No one had to ask for any of the ethnicity that we have, and BHVR has consistently added more of each one. Frankly, I think they will add a character that is homosexual at some point, it just hasn't happened yet. All you're doing by bringing the subject up is open a forum for toxic argument.
BHVR should just go all out on a LGBT+ character and make a naturally masculine character who is transitioning, and wears dresses with a wig, and has a voice that sounds like a prepubescent teenager. I'm sure there's a lot of money to be made with cosmetics for that kind of character.
Nobody is "pestering" BHVR. BHVR already said that they were adding one, which is why the threads discussing it have popped up in the first place.

You do realize that product recalls exist for when a product has dangerous defects. It could just be 1 in 100 ps5 that spontaneously combusts. They'll still tell everyone to return them even if 99% of people are enjoying themselves bug free.
There's also class action lawsuits that happen when products come out that have problems with them. People have defended Nintendo's joycon drift saying it doesn't effect them but Nintendo has been sued multiple times and lost multiple times.
You're welcome to have your own opinion. It doesn't really reflect what the op is saying and it makes very little sense for the op to pay for bhvr's mistakes.

It's called a refund?
And comes out of whose pocket?
To put this into an analogy:
OP is asking (demanding?) that Sony stop selling PS5s and instead take them away from everyone because it has bugs. Now, thousands, perhaps millions of people are enjoying their PS5s just fine and want to keep using them while Sony fixes the bugs, as evidenced by the fact that they're still using their PS5s - a fact OP literally admits. Does that seem reasonable to you?
IMO, if OP wants to force everyone to stop using something they like because OP doesn't like it, then OP should pay for the refunds for those who would otherwise be enjoying the content. I didn't buy this chapter, but I'm not a fan of having the things I pay for taken away because someone else thinks I shouldn't enjoy them.

Unless they're handling points and stuff client side, which I highly doubt cuz that would be easily hacked, or not bothering to keep records, which would leave plenty of vulnerabilities open for people to exploit, I think it's safe to assume that they have records of what ppl bought and with what currency within their systems. Furthermore, the devs have already been shown to be able to increase or decrease currencies either through bugs or on purpose and they have investigated claims people made about blood points or shards appearing or disappearing in the past. It's highly logical. You just need to actually think.
And who's going to pay all the people who don't want this? If someone bought the DLC and doesn't have access, is the OP going to pay for them not being able to play it?

representation is literally not important, thank you and have a good day. the only reason bhvr would add an lgbt character isn't because they care it's because it gives their messy game a good name. but i don't blame them, cuz it works. i mean look at you people :D
It's not important for you, but there are other people playing the game. For some of them, it is important. For the others, it won't have any negative effect on them, so there's no reason for them to oppose it.

On the lore says "Oni is a cisgender boi" ? Maybe the Oni doesn't know that he/she is transgender cause he was born in a less cultured age.
Trans people have been known about for thousands of years, with some cultures even having a third gender.

I’m really trying to keep this civil but I don’t understand why this need to be represented. It already happens everywhere, we get plenty of it, yet people still feel the need to push this onto things like games.
I’m honestly more happy with stuff not trying to shove a character like that into my face.
before anyone makes any assumptions, I’m not straight.

Who's pushing? The devs said they'd do it, this thread is not about that.

Stay out of the lore and it won't affect you.

I don't see the significance.

Are you assuming all the characters gender? What if the Oni is a girl? I'm offended.
Not assuming, no, since it's explicitly stated in their lore.

Being gay, isn't new....it didn't just get invented 10 years ago, not 20, not 30 not even 1000. Its been a thing. So to say people don't know whats going on is disingenuous at the bare minimum. The man who single handedly by his own words invented rock n roll Little Richard was completely and obviously gay. The only difference between back then and now and why he wasn't getting torches thrown at his house is because it wasn't the only thing that defined him. He didn't make a fuss about it, it wasn't the first thing he mentioned when he introduced himself. And he would tell you to shut up if you ever asked him about what he does in private behind closed doors because thats his business and nobody elses. This idea, that you need to share everything to the world and that your private information be the defining factor of who you are means nothing to anybody but advertisers who profit off said information. Because those are the only people who care other than the ones viewing your tinder profile.....Intimate details about who you are are not important, they've never been important for the past 1000 years they will never be important, your skin color is not important....the only thing that is important is your actions. Those are the only things that define you to the world around you, because they're the only things that the rest of the world can see, or will ever leave an impact.
My grandma marched with Martin Luthor King and she died 10 years ago. The fight has always been a fight about being represented by your CHARACTER, and not the uncontrollable traits which are featured on your skin or private preference....Theres a lot to life to be gained in character besides the superficial. And you guys are talking about the lore of a character....its literally everything else BUT superficial.
Thank you for proving their point.
LGBT people are persecuted even in places where they stay quiet and don't make a fuss. For example, every country where they don't have equal rights by law, as well as many where they do (in theory; in practice, a law that's not enforced doesn't exist). Fact is, bigots find a way to justify their bigotry and persecution of other people no matter what those people do, because they are not acting in good faith.
The latest excuse they seem to be coalescing to is the one you've apparently bought, about how the problem is that LGBT people are "too loud" and "defined by their sexuality". That's bullshit. Heterosexual people are free to express their sexual orientation and make nearly every conversation about sex, but if LGBT people do it, all of a sudden it's "pushy" and they're "defining themselves by their orientation". Does that seem reasonable to you?

That is your mistake.
You can state its not relevant, but you're missing 2 key things.
1) They're already going to be punished (Assuming it was reported, assuming BHVR does it's job).
2) These things don't happen in a vacuum. I mean you can simplify it and say 'well they're bad people' which they are. But it doesn't stop it happening again. Mass shootings or otherwise.
My point is that this ENTIRE thread is is just low hanging fruit. Your statements are based of a set of rules, artificially generated by the devs, in a game no less, that could change tomorrow.
I've been slugged before and somehow managed to never wish death upon someone. I don't care what OP did or didn't do, the fact is they're not to blame for other people being sore losers.
Your statements are based of a set of rules, artificially generated by the devs, in a game no less, that could change tomorrow.
All rules are artificial, they're all man-made and could change tomorrow. How is this relevant when I'm addressing the game? Should I be using a different set of artificial rules to judge the game?
