Yes, they should.

It was about time to nerf this wall-hack perk.If aura reading is so powerful, how come Survivors don't use their own aura reading perks?

I might just use bloodhound from now on, does it work with Spirits phasing? If it doesn't then thats not fair it should be able to.Of course it doesn't. The Spirit cannot see blood. Bloodhound doesn't change that.

O I saw a Legion with myc whilst playing with friends. One of them got exposed but it still took the Legion four to down him because frenzyThat's the expected behavior. Obviously, Legion is not meant to benefit from Exposed or even Survivors being injured.

@RSB said:
No, it happend today as I was playing Spirit. There were scratchmarks, and then for like 3-4 seconds the survivor stopped creating them (no, there were no DWM), then they appeared again.
They are most likely bugged.
Btw. Scratchmarks are bugged for Legion anyway, they need to wait for like 2-3 seconds for them to appear when they (Legion) leave Frenzy mode.Interesting. I assume they weren't using Distortion either, right?
-
@RSB said:
Yeah, they don't appear sometimes too, as I noticed.I thought that was just because I was playing Legion and didn't notice the scratch marks before activating Feral Frenzy.

Until this is fixed, you might want to stop using Self-Care.

Yes. Mangled is a basic status effect.

Hard limits are tricky. I could play three gen hag or doctor and the game would cut me off with a "that's all folks" and send me on my way.If someone is doing it to grief, though, please report it. That is holding the game hostage and is treated the same as a killer blocking survivors in somewhere and not allowing the game to end.
The problem arises primarily when the Killer doesn't want to do the monkey dance for teabagging Survivors at the gates. They won't leave because they want to humiliate the Killer, and the Killer doesn't want to give them the satisfaction. However, because the Killer technically can stop it by going to the exits and playing the clown, you don't consider it griefing, despite being 100% used to grief.

Neat.Although it would still be nice to get feedback knowing that my reports are actual doing something.
After every ban wave there's a slew of threads from people who were banned complaining about the fact. That's the only reliable feedback, IMO.
Anyone can set up fake notifications, but faking threads on that scale would cost more than just having a mod team going through reports. -
@ModernFable said:
Where’d you hear that?Because if that’s true then that’s awesome.
From Peanits.
Report systems only stop working if people don't use them. Mods are not omniscient; they don't know what goes on in every trial ever. Also, just because you don't get a message saying "Thanks to your report, player X was banned" doesn't mean they don't work. Inversely, just because you do get such a message doesn't mean they do work. Having an automated system in place for those messages is far too simple. -

The only real surefire counter to NOED is small game and a 4 man SWF group that can keep eachother all in the know.Or, y'know, avoiding the Killer and GTFO ASAP. Dark Sense counters NOED just fine.

Balance means that a single Survivor going up against the Killer should be crushed.
Balance means that a full Survivor team going up against the Killer should have a 50/50 chance of winning.
Balance means that a Survivor should never be able to put a Killer in a situation where giving up a chase is the most beneficial thing to do.
Balance means that Survivors aren't self-sustaining.
Balance means that Survivors should never feel safe.
Balance means that the game is balanced at the top.Balance means many things.

It's not really something you can fix. There are times where that is objectively the right choice. Sometimes a survivor will sprint right up to a hook with the killer hot on their tail. If you 'fixed' facecamping, the killer would basically be punished for not allowing the survivors to rescue each other in that situation.I'm pretty sure if you made it to where if the killer stands within 2 meters of a hooked survivor for 10 seconds, all the other survivors on the map getting a visible buff that increase gen repairs by 25% or something for as long as the killer remains in 2 meters, then anybody who reads patch notes would stop face camping and start patrolling or hunting for other survivors.
Camping doesn't completely stop hook vultures, despite the obvious risk/punishment of death. Why do you suppose punishment will work on the Killers when it clearly doesn't work on the Survivors?
-
False reports don't do anything in DbD, so you're in the clear.
If you have a problem with the way Microsoft handles reports on XBOX, however, take it up with Microsoft. -
@Stvn494 said:
Well they still need to fix itCamping has counters. What you don't have is free unhooks, nor the ability to ignore the Killer's presence so you can do whatever you want.

Congratulations. You probably thought that was pretty clever. Complaints don't need to be original. Do you think businesses that get the same complain many times simply say "Sorry, we only acknowledge original complaints?"You complained that OP's complaint was not being addressed in an original manner. I merely pointed out that this complaint has been addressed multiple times already, and thus doesn't warrant an original response.
If you'd complained that OP's complaint was not being addressed at all, you might have had a point, but you weren't, so you don't. -
@brokedownpalace said:
Such a clown thing to say that gets said at least once anytime someone complains about camping. Form an original opinion.Unoriginal complaints get unoriginal responses.

@th3beardedbaron said:
The tunneling/camping problem could be solved the same as it is with a survivor standing still for too long. If a killer sits inside (say a 15 meter range) of a hooked survivor for too long, they get penalized. Similar to a survivor getting crows over their heads. If a survivor gets penalized for farming someone off a hook, the killer should receive a similar penalty for rehooking the same survivor within say 10 seconds of being taken off.Camping can already be penalized by the remaining Survivors. Despite that, there is now an actual emblem penalty for staying too close to the hook if no other Survivors are there. Furthermore, why in the Entity's name should Killers be penalized for playing smart (getting rid of the weak link)?
-
When did they threaten to nerf either of these Killers?
-
No self-mending would be too powerful. However, if you increase the timer by 5-10 seconds and make it so the timer only stays at 99% if another Survivor is mending you, you accomplish two things:
- Forces Survivors closer together, which benefits the Legion. In other words, you reward the Legion for using their power.
- Makes the Legion's power actually dangerous. Right now, Survivors don't even bother to heal against the Legion because their power isn't dangerous. This change will fix that.

Haha I see you got warned for the D/C talk too.Great company behaviour is. Defend campers despite your own forum and reddit being plagued with threads about people saying they can't play survivor anymore because the camping is getting out of control.
That will surely be good for the longterm health of the game. Silence those who call it out to sweep it under the rug and pretend it will be ok. I'm sure the camping problem will just sort itself out.
Meanwhile everytime a new game comes out similar in design people are hoping ts good so they can jump ship to get away from all the issues DBD has. I wonder why that is....
One (DC) is against the rules. The other (camping) isn't. Yes, they punish people for breaking the rules.
-
Nope.
-
Camping is already punishable. Rush gens, problem solved. Camping already takes so long that the Survivors can rush gens and leave.
-
No compromise (SWF) in ranked. Other than that, I agree with the idea.
-
@The_Crusader said:
Because most 115 killers have to earn 2 hits on survivors by catching them off guard or outplaying them.Legion is fast and can vault palletz, his first hit is basically free. He can run around and injure people very fast. Some don't heal against him.
If he was 115 he would immediately be top tier.
And the idea of a top-tier Killer is apparently horrifying to some people. God forbid high ranks have some variety.
-
@Wahara said:
Didn't I just grant you that that your skill would carry you to high rank irrespective of RNG?"All but the most extreme" like, if you consider 1 in every 10 matches (easy) the most extreme of cases.
There's also the fact to consider that you may not necessarily be playing badly, but the opponent you're going up against is simply superior. I don't think it's fair that I should depip if I'm still playing well and making decent plays but my opponent is simply a caliber above me.
In my opinion, a depip should be given if you're playing like #########, not simply because you lost. I think that was the entire concept behind safety pips to begin with, and it's a good one.
So you're claiming that in 10% of all trials, you get screwed by RNG. That means that in 90%, the result depends on your skill. 10% is an acceptable margin of error.
Yes, it sucks to get deranked because of bad RNG, but no more so than the loss itself. You cannot account for bad RNG in a ranking system.Assuming the rank system works well, if your opponent is superior, then you're simply overranked. It is wholly fair that you should derank if you're faced with someone who's better than you, because it means your current rank is too high compared to your skill level.
-
@Wahara said:
You could just refine the scoring system to be more accurate, like say, creating extra emblem bars that assess other areas of skill.The only reason I don't like the idea of removing the safety pip is that while it's true if your meant to be in a high rank, you'll get to a high rank, you can come across a lot of ######### matches in a row. As survivor I've depipped from rank 1 to rank 4 and then back to rank 1 again. There's too much variance in RNG, how close you spawn to the killer, how quickly ruin is found, etc.
I don't want to be punished with a depip when I know I played well.
Your skill should outweigh RNG's influence in all but the most extreme of cases. If you're relying on RNG going your way, then you're not as skilled as you think.

@Janick said:
We will not remove the stun effect because the killer can cancel the Power at any time. We tried it during development and the cancel then M1 technique was used by some internally and we felt it was very unbalanced and very unfair.We are very careful at adding stun (cooldown, fatigue) effects on killers, we prefer to not add any (like the Spirit when possible) but in some case, we have no choice. The design principles, strategy, and gameplay of the game are based on cooldown and timing. It is very hard for new game mechanics to get away from it without impacting everything that was done previously.
How about just making it so Feral Frenzy attacks on injured Survivors who are not suffering from Deep Wound will put them in the dying state? At the moment, about half the Survivors (in my experience) don't even bother to heal against the Legion.
If the Legion uses their power, the Survivors will remain injured. If the Legion doesn't use their power, the Survivors have an easy time delaying the M1 hit because of the Legion's slow movement speed. If the Legion uses their power to try to put them down, the Legion gets stunned every single time, while the Deep Wound timer doesn't go down during the actual chase. It's a lose-lose-lose situation. -

Is your browser's agent an Android/iPhone or PC? Mine is PC and I have no troubles with notifications.
Also the forum looks way better.
I'm not on mobile and my notifications are disabled. However, the people who press "Quote" and don't have an @ automatically added all seem to be on mobile.

That would be odd because I use mobile every day at work and it seems to work fine for me, but I'll poke around and see if I can figure out what's causing it.It doesn't. @The_Crusader said:
@Orion Yes glad we can agree that the problem is the game becomes more boring at rank 1. Thats kind of what I was saying, its just claudettes or megs with sprint burst/dead hard dashing straight for the biggest loops in the game every time. It becomes repetitive.Like I said, though, that's just a consequence of a ranked system. Some strategies are just better, period.
-
@The_Crusader said:
Wait what? I thoight you were the one saying yoj were pro.No wonder the camp and tunnel strategy works for you.
And I tried to stay low rank this month. I had to start messing about with survivors to derank. Because you get safety pips too easy.
It was nice. Not because survivors were easy hit because I could use the bottom tier killers who I have no perks for. It would be frustrating using them in red ranks.
And yes, survivors at the low ranks play the game how it feels like it was meant to be played imo. Sure they'll still run pallet loops but they don't do the bigger loops that you get in red ranks.
Once you're at high rank it feels like it's all about abuising the mechanics of the game as much ad you can. Sure DBD isn't alone in this but still...
Once you start playing properly though, using killers you're good with and once you start winning to earn BP then you just fly through the ranks right back up to red.
I never said I was a pro. I do have the skill to play at rank 1 as it is now, but I choose not to because it's boring. I play games to have fun; not to do the same thing over and over again until I throw up.
If DbD ranks were a good indicator of skill, though, I doubt I'd be able to reach rank 1 even if I were playing to the full extent of my ability.Yes, high ranks are all about abusing the mechanics to the very extreme. And yes, once you start playing well, you rank up. That's why I play poorly from time to time. If I'm using a Killer I'm not that great with, the Survivors usually take care of that for me, though.
-
Look, bottom line is that ranked play in any game is always going to be the same. Your success or failure will depend on how well you can counter the strategies that are used. That's why, in the few multiplayer games that I play, I avoid ranked gameplay at all costs. In DbD, since I have no choice, I try to stay at rank 10-ish (no, I don't derank). It's simply not fun to have to do the same thing over and over and over and over again.
-
Note that only one of them used @Tsulan. The other two just wrote "Tsulan".
-
You're new, and while you're new, Killers do seem overpowered. Trust me, once you get better at the game or face better Survivors, you'll change your mind very quickly.
Camping became a problem because Survivors, way back when the game was released, kept rushing the hook before the Killer had even left. They still do it, so camping pays off more often than not.
The bloodweb is random. You're just getting unlucky.
There's a mechanic that prevents Survivors from going AFK in any one location. If you're immobile for long periods of time, crows start circling overhead. If you still won't move or take part in things like generator repair, the Killer gets a notification of your location.
If you sprint into closets, the Killer gets a notification. Same thing if you sprint and vault. Just by sprinting, you leave scratch marks that can lead the Killer to you.I advise you to read the official wiki (deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com) for more mechanics you may want to know about.

When the most efficient strategy is running to the same spot over and over again and running in a loop around it then the game design or maps need reviewing.Indeed, but the core issue - that high ranks are boring and predictable - can never be fixed.
-
@The_Crusader said:
If I play Rainbow Six I don't get the guy on the other team deciding to jump out of a building window and then run back through and out of the window again.Because that's not the most efficient strategy in that game. Did you even read what I said?
-
College stuff keeps getting in the way of my gaming. The only distraction I can have is this forum, because at least that I can drop at a moment's notice. Also looping.
-
That's the problem with the high rank in any game. There are simply some strategies that are more efficient, and those at high rank will use them exclusively.
-
Seems you missed a spot.

Grind. At the very least, their default skins should've been included in the DLC.
