But they're still immature kids at the end of the day. 18 is barely any life experience at all.

I'm with you on that I'm in my mid 20s and in general do not feel like an adult.

  • I get what you're saying but they really shouldn't have released this chapter in its current state. People would have been mad about the delay but it would be appreciated in the long run.

  • Sometimes you don't even get blood the hatchet just phases through the survivor.

  • I find that it depends on the day whether it is killers or survivors complaining more.

The other day the forum was full of nothing but posts complaining about deathslinger, pyramid head and spirit and the next it was all about swf and second chance perks.

But you know you can always ignore that so you can say that it is always killers complaining.

  • What else are they supposed to do? Some might go to an unblocked gen but killers will patrol those and find them.

  • Its to do with the error codes. They gave them out as a thank you for waiting for a fix.

  • They call it aim dressing but it is aim assist. Nobody likes it because it makes you hit something else.

My only issue with the huntress currently is that the most overpowered add on in the game has been on her unchanged for like 3 years and nobody talks about it

What? There are posts almost everyday talking about her addons. We all know iri head is a problem I am also pretty sure the devs have said that the huntress will be getting looked at.

  • I honestly don't know what you are complaining about at this point. You contradicted yourself by saying the devs are too scared to make op addons.

  • I am so glad this is just wanting better addons for demo.

  • I agree and I always play a lot nicer and purposely miss hits and stuff but it is rank 20s on both sides going against rank 1s.

  • Yeah there wasn't much you could do, it is on them for swarming the basement with a bubba. It would be pretty daft for you to see them and go to the other end of the map.

In future I wouldn't recommend messaging people that dc or at the very least I wouldn't message them when they accuse you of doing something that was caused by them.

i would say that too but i think there generally are players that dont want to play a certain survivor because thts not who they normally play an exapmle would be when they do their daily and it invovles a survivor that they usually dont play but they finished it and loaded into a match with the survivor they dont usually play. i feel they should at least have a moment to change to another survivor but not when the match is about to begin and the killer cant do anything about it

True I guess having a minute for both sides to tweak their loadouts would work but at that point you might as well not bother with locking character selections.

  • I feel that killers would lobby dodge more but I guess if they see a last second switch they would just dc in the loading screen anyway.

I am unsure if there a solution that would make the majority of both sides happy.

I personally think both should be locked just for consistency.

    Again, Bamboozle.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1497667#Comment_1497667

Literally everyone is running Bamboozle on him, and for good reason.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1497714#Comment_1497714

You move at 5.29 meters per second for 6 seconds. If you just mindgame one window during a saw, which you can do very easily given your enhanced movement speed, they’re not going to be able to use a nearby one because it’s either Bamboozled or you’re moving at 5.29 meters per second and catch up easily.

Look it seems to me you are just arguing for the sake of arguing. If you are already using the saw then you can't use bamboozle, there are very few windows you can mind game as you described but who knows maybe I'm not that great at mind games.

Old Legion also completely ignored any defenses Survivors had. Bubba with Bamboozle does that ten times over, and instadowns on top of it.

Yeah but that is with a perk and I doubt people would put bamboozle on leatherface anyway. Maybe in a couple weeks people will find better counterplay for him.

Let me name some that I have encountered through my lifetime of DBD, not just the recent patch but since 2017 hallows eve (Thats when I started)

    -DS not stunning

    -Endgame collapse timer being incorrect

    -No Hud

-Legion being unable to vault some windows

-survivors being unable to vault some windows

-Flashlights having wrong angles (not blinding properly)

-here is an oldie, flashlights not needing to aim at the killers face, but chest

    -Getting stuck in pallets

    -getting stuck in vaults

    -Literally grabs still

-old sole survivor literally not working

-Nurse not being able to blink through some walls

    -Nurse losing an entire blink

    -Just Nurse in general

Some of these have been fixed, while Nurse has not been fixed

Games buggy but its the understandable buggy

I think the chest blinding was a design thing not a bug since since the camera wasn't in the head for a lot of killers. I might be wrong on that one though.

Old Freddy nerfed? Really? What was his power? Just putting everyone in the dream world hoping that survivors didn't wake up with every skillcheck possible? ( gen, heal or even self care?)

Now new Freddy has somewhat ability to teleport through the map, which is not like a billy, but still something and a chasing ability which allows you to finally do a lot of mindgames during chases, making him now a really strong killer.

    How is that a nerf?

They Nerfed him when he was originally released. Not sure what the complaint was he was pretty bad but people review bombed the game.

  • I think it is okay for people to be mad at the devs when they don't acknowledge issues, don't do what they said they would do or give next to no information on what is happening i.e. console optimisation, make bugs worse with each patch.

  • @DrDeepwound said:

While I do not call for nerfs, being able to throw a hatchet across map at a BBQ aura and down someone, well,.... we know its BS.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1478429#Comment_1478429

Thanks for the decent comment. It is extremely bad and if the huntress is remotely skilled it exacerbates the problem because you are not learning to hit your target, you are learning to abuse the hitbox. That is horrible game design and I never feel outplayed when I verse her like I do the other killers. The survivors being able to avoid the killer with the lullaby is the way it should be. Why would you think that counterplay shouldn't exists? Being a ranged killer makes it even more important. They could try for 4 hatchets and she would still be fine, as long as they also fix the hitboxes. Remember, if you are only mediocre with her, you shouldn't need 5 chances to down someone.

I Completely agree with the notion that people aren't learning how to use her properly due to the hitboxes but as people have said the last time they tried to change the hitboxes to be more in line with the hatchet model caused more issues. Not saying they shouldn't look into it a bit more because they should.

I am not saying that the counterplay should not exist. In my opinion the lullaby on its own is the counterplay. In its current state you can tell that she is near which should in my opinion give you enough information to be on the lookout for her. If you are on one of the bigger maps the ability to catch people that know exactly which direction you are coming from is extremely difficult even taking into account ranged attacks. Not everyone is able to hit those insane cross map snipes.

I'd also like to thank you for not using the counter argument of iron maiden in regards to reloading. I would say that having 4 hatchets would be enough but personally I would still prefer 5 hatchets since a lot of maps loads of debris which and that is just a personal issue since I have poor aim.

I also main huntress so my opinions and views are very biased just so you know. Sorry for the long reply.

  • I completely agree with your friend as well. In reality it is just a number. I like the idea of getting slightly more bp for being a higher rank as an incentive to rank up.

Oh I nearly forgot the biggest thing about the ranks. It gives some people the illusion that being at rank 1 makes their opinion more valid. That is just my opinion from observing the forums though.

  • I agree that the hitboxes are a huge problem but since the dedicated server have been introduced the bs hits became more noticeable. In my experience I've missed a lot of hatchets that should have connected I find it is less common but it happens.

As for your call for nerfs to her base kit. The directional lullaby was changed because any survivor with headphones could tell where you were and get out of the area before you would see them. Wanting less hatchets is generally a bad idea you lose a lot of pressure by reloading as is making it so you would make that worse.

Honest question, if the ranking system doesnt matter. Why is it in the game? And dont tell me it's to help matchmaking when I'm consistently going against higher ranked killers or survivors. CONSISTENTLY. And I'm tired of hearing your rank doesnt matter when I've seen plenty of first hand, people just getting bullied in lobbies. I'm tired of it. And deranking as a rank 4 with a 2 purple's and a yellow? Great game. Make a better matchmaking system, or maybe make it to where you actually play against your rank? Great game besides 60% of games going this way. Fix the ranking system/matchmaking. PLEASE

Sorry this doesn't really answer the original question since I don't really know how to answer it. The main reason people say that rank doesn't matter is you can get to high ranks just by playing for long enough especially since the rank reset changes.

Its what killer mains gave been complaining about. There is an easy way to get past this combo, just eat the DS. If you want to go after that same survivor within 60 seconds you may have to eat the DS and hit the survivor ONE extra time. Its not going to lose you the game. I would like to see Scott's kill percentage and then we would know how bad this combo truly is. I'm guessing he is probably still killing 75% or more of the survivors he faces even with this 'game losing' combo. DS and Unbreakable exist to stop killer's from playing the game a certain toxic way. They are there to discourage that type of game play. See how long the survivor base holds up if games all became tunneling slug fests.

The Problem with that statement is they are rarely used to deter tunneling they are used as Scott described in the video.

  • I think that would get abused. Just an example I hit the unhooker and start the chase the unhooked survivor could just body block and both get away. What you're asking for is just free bt.

I understand nobody likes getting tunneled. Unfortunately I can't think of a way to mitigate it without the method being abused.

    Being polite helps.

Not exploiting obvious gameplay flaws, or dancing at the exit gates.

Then again killers DID drag people into the basement knowing about the blindness glitch. And de-pipped to prey on low levels with Ruin, noed, and chili equipped on an insta-saw Billy so ######### them.

You make it sound like killers are the only one to de-pip to bully lower ranks.

"I get that but it has been stated that this game isn't meant to be competitive"

That hasn't been said by the devs actually.

This is something many people in the community debate on because it isn't clear their intentions.

Really? I'm sure I've seen the devs say something long those lines on streams. I won't argue with you on it since I don't really have any proof.

To your knowledge? What I'm saying is about hiding information.

You mean you haven't read their idea of hiding ranks?

They are again fixing matchmaking with another system again... since SWF was introduced.

MMR batch matchmaking will not improve wait times, only create longer wait times for killers. Survivors will still have to wait for a player willing to play killer

I mean why care about ranks at this point? I get that people like seeing themselves progress but I've seen posts on both sides saying it's too easy to rank up it has also been the opinion of plenty of players that rank doesn't really mean anything. You are right that wait times will probably not fix wait times.

    in BHVR Comment by Ireath
  • I've said this before on another post but toxicity is probably equal to both sides. Survivors being toxic gets talked about more due to there being four of them in a match.

  • @Witas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1075362#Comment_1075362

But you won't be able to see your mmr. If you can't see how much and whether or not you're improving, then what's the point of playing ? I've always looked at DBD as a competetive game, and in that sense hiding MMR (the game's new ranking system) is basically the same as not having ranks at all... Not having ranks in a competetive game.

I get that but it has been stated that this game isn't meant to be competitive I don't agree with that stance if it has a ranking system it is competitive at some level.

Not showing how you're improving isn't the best either but ever since I started playing rank hasn't really meant much in terms of skill just how much time you've spent playing especially recently. I do understand why people like seeing their ranks.

    in BHVR Comment by Ireath
  • To my knowledge they are not hiding ranks they are just scraping the current system for an mmr system.

    in BHVR Comment by Ireath
  • Unfortunately there isn't much they can do about tunneling or camping without using perks. I understand the frustration but people will camp and tunnel regardless.

  • I recommend whispers, bbq, nurses and a perk of your choice. As for addons I recommend flower babushka and manna grass braid for the reduced wind up or oak haft and bandaged haft for cooldown.

We're talking about balance in the game regarding killer perks and survivor perks dude what's hit boxes got to do with that? There's a huge difference between bugs and issues like that and perks. If the hit boxes are broken they're going to affect both killers and survivors in a negative way, perks on the other hand usually won't affect both killers and survivors in a negative way at the same time, if a survivor perk is too op then the only ones being affected negatively will be killers and vice versa and in that case you have to play both survivor and killer to understand why the perk is too op. If this community weren't as toxic as it is then yeah maybe survivor mains and killer mains could talk about balance without playing both roles, but nowadays it seems as if they were on a war against each other and instead of wanting balance they want one side to be stronger than the other which is unfair and stupid lmao

My point is you can't say someone's opinion doesn't matter because they don't play both sides. I was just using bugs as an example with the logic you are using.

  • @ADirtyNea said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/986979#Comment_986979

You can't, you can't just see things from the survivor perspective or the killer perspective. I don't care what you say, that's just how things are and a lot of people agree with me. Even the fog whisperers agree on that

So what you are saying is I can't for example say that hitboxes are a problem from either perspective? Even though I could get a hit that shouldn't have connected as killer or avoiding a hit that should have connected as survivor but because I don't play both equally I can't say that is an issue for the other side.

That's flawed logic on your part. Yes you can't see everything but bugs, exploits, janky mechanics and massive balance issues are evident to everyone.

Saying that, there is going to bias from both sides even from people that play both "equally" because there will be a role they have more fun playing.

Demogorgon with make your choice is deadly, no need for ruin or corrupt intervention, I usually 3k with my build: make your choice, thanatophobia, barbecue and sloppy

I wasn't trying to keep people from giving their opinions, opinions are precisely what we need right now. What I was saying was that killers being toxic as a way to "take a stand" isn't really going to help and people who only play survivor or only play killer aren't going to help that much either. Right now we want balance, and in order to understand balance you have to play both killer and survivor like you can't just see this whole situation from one point view. A survivor main doesn't really know what a killer main has to go through and vice versa, that's why I play both sides, I probably play more survivor but I do play killer a lot as well

You don't need to play both sides to understand balance. I can identify issues with both sides from just playing one role.

Oh, so there are professional players earning their money in tournaments? Filling entire stadiums with viewers during esport events?

    Oh, no?

Well then it is per definition a casual game... LMAO.

A competitive game doesn't mean there are professional players or tournaments. However I personally feel that it is down to individual players on how serious they want to take the game and thay goes for every game.

  • You just have to play him differently on console I guess. I agree that he is worse on console but so are most of the killers.

Posts like this pop up every time a new killer comes out. People aren't taking the time to learn the best way to play them on console imo.

I have not seen a single person complaining about console getting the cosmetics or wanting them to be PC exclusive.

If you read the Release Information carefully, you'll notice that the developers decided not to give out the event-exclusive cosmetics from Howling Grounds or Summer BBQ to anyone, regardless of platform, except for those that earned them during the relevant events.

Both console and PC should receive all the other promised cosmetics with the new patch.

When they first announced it the forums were full of people complaining.

  • I personally just think ds is more annoying than op.

  • It looks like every time a side gets a big nerf or rework people cry that the devs are pandering to one side which isn't the case they're doing what they feel is best for the game.
