  • I feel like the devs are trying to go for something that lies between fun and balance, not realizing that balanced games with good mechanics are fun, and that appealing to casuals is just going to piss everyone off and blow up in their faces.

  • Go repair generators while the killer is doing nothing for two minutes. Escape, win, GG.

  • You are not entitled to an unhook. Camping has counters, use them. And no, you wouldn't see the penalty because you can't see emblems from other people, IIRC.

Nope. A PC on my country is equivalent to a new released car.

Really cheap cars or really expensive computers? Also, what country?

  • I remember when they had weekly streams on Twitch, but then people started complaining they weren't "actually working".

But ds got from the most broken perk in the game to the most usseles.. (only work if the killer dont have a mori and let you in the floor)

Seriously, how many killers do you see bringing in moris every single trial? And how many survivors do you see staying on the floor without being rescued for a full minute? You're making a mountain out of a molehill.

Seriously, how many survivors do you see bringing decisive strike?

    Amazing

    Btw everything I said E V E R Y T H I N G should have a counter, no matter if it's a SUPER RARE INFINITE OFFERING/ADDON, it should have a counter.
Btw I only see that you support buff only for the killers but you do not support any buff for a survivor (being that all the nerfs of 2018 were for the survivors, you forget about that?), when you play as a survivor you can say about a mori or when you face an omega blink nurse

The counter to a one-off item that costs a lot is appropriately difficult to pull off: don't get hooked.

And btw it's a stupid argument "dont get hook", lmao

That's the counter that's present at the moment. You're talking about an offering that requires the killer to be good at their job (find, chase, and hook a survivor), then requires the killer to allow a survivor to be unhooked, find them again, and finally they get their reward. Toss in the fact that it's a rare (Ultra Rare, in fact), single-use item that costs a lot of BP, and the counter seems like it should be difficult to pull off.
That's my opinion, looking at the balance of the game.

Lol, being good at their job? Legion dont require to be good at their "Job" with the frank's mixtape + deep wound study, tell me how to dont get hook with the broken hitboxes and addons? the only way to dont get hook it's being a claudette, hide all the match, let teammates die, urban evasion all the match and dont repair gen, btw if you complete one category you get 8k bp and mori cost 7k... it's not that expensive
What about the green mori.. Everyone it's supossed to have fun but what about the player who got moried by a Ivory Memento Mori?

Things that don't work properly have no bearing on balance. As for the rest, if you get better at the game, you can avoid getting hooked without all that nonsense. I hear some streamers manage to do it just fine, why don't you look at some tutorials they've made?
I find the animations to be extremely fun, personally, but I understand it's not for everyone.

Okay, here is my thing. If I have a choice between a survivor that is health and one that is injured, I will always go after the injured one. It makes more sense to me to take the quick down. When the other survivors unhook right in front of me it, well it is your teammates fault there.

Indeed, it is the more sensible thing to do. That's why it's called "playing efficiently".

Also if another survivor takes them off the hook with me around, I will do my best to punish the unhooker, but that isn't my problem if they present a much easier target.

The game I just played, I was accused of tunnelling and I thought it was the David complaining, but it was actually one of the other players, I didn't even know what they were talking about. To tunnel it must be a willful choice, which clearly I was not doing. But allas they aren't going to be able to determine my thoughts and such.

DC can be countered by just chasing down the target again. . . Come on people it's not hard, and you even get chase points for it!

Currently DC is a waste of a perk slot because it's a one off single use through away perk.

Once this killer hand-holding nerf goes live it will only turn Survivors onto better perks they should be taking over DC anyway so it'll just focus the Killer /crybaby brigade onto those and inevitably get them nerfed too.

It's all a part of the greater plan of turning dbd into an empty lobby simulator with a screen with big text saying "You Win! - and in small print: "because your a special snowflake"

On the subject of actual toxic stuff that's eating away at the game from within, when's BBQ Cheese getting nerfed again? oh wait it isn't because the special snowflake killer /crybaby brigade would burn down the forum with their tears of napalm I forgot about that one.

Every time the game has been threatened by that, it's been because survivors are too powerful and killers are not.

In order to free the survivor you need to stun him after the animation

Why?  Because not everything in the game is completely braindead and require no skill, luckily some stuff at least...

You didn't answer my question. You're just being a jerk.

He answered the question, even if he was rude about it. It's ridiculous that a killer would be forced to drop a survivor while they're in no position to do anything about it.

  • @Freaked said:
Yes, but you just have to wait, till the DS is over and then the survivor can't use it

Which is the equivalent of one hook stage. If you're going to do that, you might as well just camp from the start, on the hook, since you actually lost more time by camping a dying survivor.

  • Yes, the new DS has counters. No, it doesn't need to have all but one counter removed. You're just gonna have to deal with having one less crutch.

  • Because even a small increase in the probability would be broken. I'm going to show you why. Percentages between parentheses represent the same situation, but with six attempts (granted by Slippery Meat).

4% gives each survivor an 11.5% (21.7%) chance to unhook themselves. With four luck offerings, it's 40.7% (64.9%). With Up The Ante, all survivors alive, and four luck offerings, it's 62.7% (86.1%).
At 10%, it would be 27.1% (46.9%) by default. With four luck offerings, it'd be 52.5% (77.5%). With Up The Ante and four luck offerings, it'd be 71.3% (91.7%).

Taking into account the game as the game is now, there is a theoretical 86.1% maximum chance to self-unhook. With your suggestion, just by taking Slippery Meat, a survivor would almost have a 50% chance to self-unhook.
Self-unhook is not supposed to be a guarantee. It's supposed to be a last-ditch, desperate move, one that you only attempt when you're out of options.

EDIT: Note that I'm assuming that only one survivor has Up The Ante. I don't know if it stacks with itself, but if it does, then the theoretical maximum will be a whopping 95.3% in the default game and 97.5% with your suggestion. Those are virtual guarantees.

  • It does nothing to playing efficiently one way or another. Whenever you go back after an unhook and chase tracks, there's a 50% chance you're following the unhooked and not the unhooker, assuming they went their separate ways, because that's just how probability works.

I agree with the aura reading. That way, it would truly be up to the unhooker to make their choice.

  • Stealth killers (the Wraith, the Pig, etc.) probably do need a smaller TR, but not every M1 killer needs it.

  • @Delfador said:
Yes, I think that was the intention honestly.

They basically gave solo survivors a self borrowed time.

Indeed. The idea is to get a second-chance perk that actually only activates when you need a second chance, as opposed to a second-chance perk that just activates whenever the ######### you want.

  • To get on the hook, you had a chance to be stealthy, a chance to win the chase before the first hit, and a chance to win the chase before the second hit. That's three chances so far. You're not entitled to three more. Learn to play better with one less safety net.

Yep, well done lads, talking ######### to new users congratulations aren't you just the greatest welcoming committee.

I confuse Kate with Laurie all the time (in my head, but only once or twice on the forum). I genuinely thought it was funny to find someone else who does it too.

Once again you're making it harder on the survivors and making it easier for killers.  This makes me regret buying Laurie to get decisive strike.

You went through the effort of creating an accoutn to write this? lul

Initially, it said "Kate" instead of "Laurie". It was hilarious.

    I love it. counters tunnellers.

    HOW?

    Did you read the description?

    Yeah, tell me.

It literally activates if the killer is doing what is commonly referred to in survivor lingo as "tunneling", granting the survivor a free escape.

Killer can still dribble you and if you miss your skillcheck you still have a dead perk slot.

Skill check is triggered as soon as you're picked up. Dribbling is gone. The skill check thing was always there, so that's a moot point.

You recently buffed noed which is the killer version of DS.

Not in any way, shape, or form. That's just survivor rhetoric.
