It doesn't has to be bannable, bhvr should have just implemented a mechanic to replace offerings. For example you used a pudding and 2+ DCed -> game should ask you if you still want to consume the pudding or not (and obviously you will get it refunded).

Maybe they will add it with dedicated serves, but my hope is pretty low tbh

Offerings are consumed before the trial even loads.

Good thing there are killers easily able to close gaps and there are a variety of perks that assist in tracking survivors after the fact

Well, I would like to be able to play more than two killers, if it's not too much to ask. As for chasing the unhooked survivor, that's just more time I'm wasting.

Unhooks are too easy relative to the amount of points they award. Either the points need to be decreased significantly, or their difficulty needs to be increased significantly.

If they were hard, more and more people would camp. why even bother going for someone else when you can guarantee a kill?

People who want to camp will camp regardless. Now, personally, I camp when I see a bunch of survivors roaming about or if I've lost too many generators chasing someone who has every safety net in the universe. In the latter case, I'd feel more inclined to leave the hook if I knew my efforts couldn't be reverted in two seconds flat.

  • No. You can be banned for holding the game hostage by blocking the stairs for a long time with healthy survivors roaming in the basement, but not if those survivors are going to die, eventually, as is the case with hooked survivors.

  • @Delfador said:

What exactly do you guys want, 10 unhooks?

I don't think many people realize it but you can't get more than 6 unhooks as a survivor. You also compete with each other, sometimes killers decide to camp, sometimes you don't want to cuck your teammate but another one farms him, sometimes killers are not even able to down somebody.

I just can not see a problem here.

For Iridescent, which is the highest emblem, it should definitely require more than two unhooks.

  • I think that's more an issue with unhooks being too easy and risk-free relative to the amount of points you get. In theory, unhooks should be hard to pull off, but they're so easy you can do it right in the killer's face with little repercussion.

  • Played as the Legion (I need one of their teachables), camped one survivor (the last one) and followed scratch marks left by two people attemping a basement save (at different times, but trying to unhook the same guy). Post-game chat, got death threats to my family and children.

@Peanits I assume the guy who sent those death threats will be dealt with, yes?

Most of them disconnects before they know your add-ons or perks. When they see Legion they immediately disconnect.

That's only happened to me once. Everyone else DC'd during the trial itself.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

I main Legion and i barelly have anybody disconnecting from me

As long as you don't do the moonwalk thing or use Frank's mixtape it's all fine from my experience

I even had survivors tell me how much fun they had in a game where i killed them all but it was very close

I don't exploit and I've had one Frank's Mixtape in total. Nobody DC'd when I was using the add-on.

  • Not a Legion main, and not bait. Toxic survivors are the ones who DC, either because the killer is too good or to deprive them of an achievement (see the Shape, for example). With this, they'd have to choose between DCing because they don't like the Legion and giving the Legion an achievement for free.

It only takes one player from the 80% side to step up and play killer.. When noone can find a lobby the other side fills the gaps

Survivor mains rarely play killer, and since most survivors play SWF, it's doubtful at best that they'd switch to killer just for faster queues. They'd rather complain to the devs that their queues are too long (which is exactly what they've done every single time their queue times have spiked).

  • Probably next week.

  • @Fizz said:

The amount of times I've been called a camper because I've spotted a survivor nearby is honestly ridiculous, survivors know they are playing against real people who have the ability to use their eyes and ears to see and hear people right?

I tried to explain that to a group once. I was called a wallhacker and that I must be hacking because I knew where they where all the time. Sorry but if you leave your arse hanging out behind a tree I'mma see you and hunt you down.

Scenario off the top of my head doctor not killing and just swatting in a 3 gen strat with that buff sb+thana(buff) survivors would of had no chance whatsoever Bc by the time people are done healing and the killer kicked it then gen is so regressed it would be absolutely pointless. Might as well dc.

higher tiers would abuse it(meaning build overkill) not to mention the complete drag it would be to stand in place that long. Pgtw, thana,sb on any higher mobility killer that’s good(not a noob)gg. Absolute gg. Might as well get slugged and bleed out Bc that’s how much fun it would be.

If only there were survivor perks that allowed for faster healing, thereby countering those builds... Oh, wait, there are! So survivors would have to adapt, change the stale meta, and git gud.

@Orion Timing isn’t off, it’s an exploit but not as many people use it anymore.

If you're referring to what I think you are, that doesn't seem to be the case with the OP.

  • @HeroLives said:

@Wolf74 in a perfect world we can have that, and I’d be on board but the truth is even if that happened killers wouldn’t “play fair” maybe some would but mostly people would abuse it, and then it would have to get nerfed. Why give it a chance , when people take advantage of anything on either side that can be used to produce a significantly unfair advantage.

How would you abuse something that mechanically requires you to injure multiple survivors and gives you no benefit when they die?

    @DudeDelicious

NOED always makes it to the end game, killers can't die like survivors. Your argument is invalid.

Only if the survivors don't break the totems.

  • @PinkEricka said:

@TheLastGreatStar Don’t listen to him. Post it on general discussions because everyone hardly looks at the other sections, besides.. general discussions is where most people post their problems anyways.

The devs look at bug reports, and they're the only ones who can fix bugs. I'd rather get no official reply from the devs than multiple replies from people who can't do anything about bugs.

  • @NoShinyPony said:

I like this idea. There aren't enough people playing killer on consoles, so that could help solving this problem.

@Orion That's not entirely true. Whether you can get lots of bloodpoints as surv also depends on the killer's and the other survivors' playstyle. If the killer camps or slugs, the survs are not going to get a lot of bloodpoints. If the teammates are also "hard-working", all the survs can get a good amount of bp, but nobody will get a really high amount.

Also, there is this limit of 8k bp per category which doesn't help. I'd prefer just an overall limit of 32k bp.

I'm sorry, but that's just plain false. Only one of the things I mentioned actually requires the killer to not play in a specific way, and that's unhooking people. You can pick up slugs, you can cleanse totems, you can search chests, and you can break hooks without the killer having to play in a certain way.

  • The killer will not drop anyone while they're stuck in an animation. Your timing was off.

  • There's a shortcut on PC to invert the camera. Maybe there's one on PS4 as well and you activated it.

  • I wish more survivors were like you. Yesterday I had some serious vitriol spewed at me because I dared to camp when 2-3 survivors were around the hook at any given time. The first hooked survivor was the one to complain the most, saying that I was camping even when there was nobody around. I wonder what she thinks is going to happen when she lies like that. Does she think I'm gonna ignore the fact that I literally saw them around the hook?

  • Survivors and killers already make roughly the same amount of BP (or rather, they have the potential to do so).

The problem is that survivors often don't perform interactions that provide BP, with the exception of their main objective (generators). They could search boxes, heal people, cleanse totems, even break hooks (although that'd piss off the killer), but all they do is repair generators, lose chases, and occasionally unhook people.

Meanwhile, the killer damages generators, wins chases, breaks pallets, hooks people, grabs people (sometimes), and so on. They perform many more interactions, and so they naturally get more points.

Has anyone noticed more swf recently?

I check their profiles and they're all friends. 3-4 man is almost every game.

Is this due to how the new system is pulling them in? Its practically every lobby.

I'm not playing against them btw. 2 man I dont mind. 3-4 man just means the most powerful items and toxicity.

    I've noticed it as well.

Have you ever smashed it? Or put your finger on with considerable force? Little things like that break stuff. @Orion

This thing cost me some €50. I am extremely careful with it.

  • @Peanits said:

It may just be your mouse. I've had a few nice go on me like that. If you press the button down and move your finger around a bit and notice it cancelling your charge, your mouse button is probably kicking the bucket.

It would probably be a good idea to test it out in another game first just to be sure, that way you'll know if it's just DBD or not. You might also be able to test it out on your desktop by holding the button and moving the mouse around for a while. If it keeps bringing up the context menu in different places, that means your mouse is detecting multiple clicks.

It's not my mouse, though. It's only a few months old.

Don’t be mad, as i said before i’m a 50/50 player, i don’t think that are broken my suggest was to limit them to 1 per player, that will result in a nerf in high moviment killers not to all of them, only hillbilly and nurse can move so fast to get an avvantage in multiple aura readings; and the guy u quote is right, what’s the sense of know in every moment were the survirors are? Think about the same but for survivors, quite unplayable as killer, because they will perma avoid you.

And btw killer were buffed a lot in last patchs i didn’t understand why u call this another killer nerf lol

I don't care what you say, this is just about nerfing killers, because survivors don't use their aura reading perks.

  • @powerbats said:

I've always thought that if you blow up the gen your fingers go numb for x seconds and you can't perform any actions including healing during the seconds. You'd also suffer from a hearing loss or reduced hearing range.

You'd be much more careful about being greedy going for those great skill checks etc.

Again, this is not about adding drawbacks or changing the current interactions' effects. This is all about changing how the interactions are performed.

  • @Coriander said:

I'm willing to hear some ideas, but I don't want more-intense skillchecks more often, if that's what you're getting at. Or like, failing checks means the machinery grinds my hands and I'm injured or anything. Well, I'm willing to toss more ideas around.

No skill checks and no injuries or whatever. This is not going to change the interactions, just how they're performed.

  • @HeroLives said:

What do you have in mind? Bc I’m kind of over everyone fighting about generators(doing them puts yourself at risk unless you’re running aura perks), but I’m open to ideas that are more interactive yeah.

Basically just make the interactions more realistic. I'll explain if and when I get enough survivors saying they agree with the idea of putting themselves in more danger for better interactions.

  • Sure, just let me get a team of developers and another team of laywers for when I get sued for copyright infringement.

  • @Poweas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/366391#Comment_366391

Yeah true, secondary objective FTW! But yeah maybe if it affects healing or move speed actually by 2%/3%/4%

Not move speed, vaulting speed. Move speed is a delicate thing.

  • @Poweas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/366382#Comment_366382

Just gens really @Orion . Healing or Vaulting would be so bad if it applied to all.

@Poweas I disagree. I think generators are already at the maximum tolerable limit (you yourself said that playing survivor is boring because you basically just hold M1), and if you want high numbers, it should affect something else, like vaulting or healing.

  • @Poweas I appreciate myself just fine. :P

In all seriousness, if that's supposed to be a debuff to all interaction speeds, it might be too high.

  • @Poweas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/366366#Comment_366366

Yeah, I just don't enjoy survivor anymore since holding m1 or getting tunneled for a momentum changing chase (in my favour). Don't get me wrong, I completely understand why the killers tunnel me because they cant do anything else. But it's so boring to have no variety as survivor, right now I'm levelling Claudette to hopefully get some kind of No mither build. Just something to have fun.

No Mither+Self-Care=GG EZ. For the killer, that is.

  • @The_Crusader said:

Would be OP and demoralizing to the survivors.

3 vs 1 is hard enough, say someone disconnected at the start of the game, the 3 survivors remaining with 5 gens to go would now have at least 1 debuff applied.

    Or

2 survivors left and a gen to go. Or 3 survivors and 2 gens. It's doable. Situations like this though would remain pointless and encourage even more of a hatch camping game. 1-2 perma debuffs for the dead survivors, injure 1 in a chase and the last gen might take so long that survivors dont bother to try. Just go straight to hatch camp mode.

Lastly if you have 2 survivors dead with a few gens to go its likely the last 2 will be hatch camping anyway. So a repair spedd nerf is worthless. Chances are whoever you find then wont be getting away either so a healing speed nerf would be useless to survivors.

Basically having a strong Thana apply to dead survivors would either be useless or demoralizing.

Obviously the percentages would have to be worked out so as not to be oppressive. Hell, maybe it could affect something other than repair speed. I said "a debuff" for a reason, it doesn't necessarily have to be repair speed. Also, in case it wasn't clear, Thanatophobia would no longer apply except when survivors died. So injuries and hooks wouldn't matter.

  • @Poweas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/366358#Comment_366358

@Orion you're lucky then, for me it's just ruining my games. Strangely, as survivor I can repair gens just fine maybe im being forced to change sides 😜

Tell me about it. The Entity apparently wants me to level up other survivors. I've been receiving multiple survivor-specific trials (escape as Nea or Dwight or whatever). It's not hard, mind you (after all, it is survivor), but it's annoying to be unable to use the build I spent so much time acquiring on Jake.

  • @Poweas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/366355#Comment_366355

So it only autoblinked you once? For me it happens like 18 times per game.

@Poweas Indeed, only once. And I was blinking a lot that trial, trying to complete a daily.

  • @Poweas said:

@Orion and @KillermainBTWm8 does it happen like 6 times every game? In my situation, it's happening 6-8 times and is seriously getting on my nerves. I could have chases done in seconds but this drags it out.

@Poweas I've only experienced it once so far, but then I don't usually play the Nurse. I think I played her three times in the last 50+ trials as killer.

  • @Boss said:

    Simple, but effective.

What about the values on the Perks btw?

    [nearly 8000 comments later]

Boss: Y'know, I think I'm starting to see a pattern.

The values would have to be worked out by the devs. I don't have the necessary data.

  • I experienced this once and thought it was just me and/or my mouse.

  • @Hoodied said:

That actually makes sense, Thanatophobia is the fear of death and Dying light sounds alot better with this, I like

    edit:Fixed grammer mistake

Indeed, and the justification for Dying Light becoming stronger depending on the state of the obsession is also more accurate to its name, since the "light" (obsession) is literally dying.

  • I'm sorry, but at what rank and region are these people? I've been playing the Legion because I actually enjoy vaulting stuff very quickly as killer, but nobody's DC'd yet.

EDIT: Never mind, just got two of them.

  • @Hoodied said:

@Orion If you vomit with corrupt, and it hits them, stop vomiting and do it again and it will feel like a overtime insta-down, I don't know if this is how it works I just watched No0b3's video on her

There's a bug where, if you use either Vile Purge or Corrupted Purge too quickly, it won't affect them the second time. I reported it, but someone said it was actually intended behavior.

  • @NurseMainBTW said:

Guys, seriously? The vomit range is very generous and it's easy enough to hit for everyone considering how the vomit physics work.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/366093#Comment_366093

Straight in with an attempt to insult me by calling me a newbie. Thanks I feel loved now. I may only have 500 hrs in the game but that's because I have this thing called being a parent so I only get to play a few hours a week.

"The stale meta (survivor meta) has remained roughly the same for years - SB+SC+BT+DS."

The amount of times I've seen this build is somewhere between rare to extremely rare. Most people haven't run SB in a year since the exhaustion nerf, which was needed. SC is still seen because it's useful even if it's not used that often. I run it but I look for other survs first, it's my 'in case' healing perk. BT needed the nerf it got and you're lucky if one surv in a match even runs it anymore. DS, thankfully, is getting a nerf because it was more than needed and way overused. No I have never ran or it even thought of running it.

Survivors complain, killers complain. It's what people do. Especially on forums where they can vent/get heard. No one ever puts compliments anywhere, sometimes reviews maybe etc. Because they're happy they have no reason to go looking for somewhere to complain, they carry on.

The only way to 'win' a chase as survivor is to juke and lose the killer, which isn't as easy as it sounds since the good killers will know the jukes and best spots to do it. So sometimes your best option is to extend it and give the other survivors time. You can't dodge hits, only by vaulting if you're lucky latency doesn't mess that up. You can dodge hatchets if you're decent, but you can't really dodge m1s unless you're talking about being able to 360? Which I guess you would call exploiting hitboxes right?

"They've never had to change their builds to counter the things they complain about, they just used whatever safety nets they could find."

Then let them complain and not adapt, good survivors will adapt. But at the end of the day survivors are skins so when someone finds a build that works for their playstyle they'll run it and will only change it if they want to adapt or want to try out a new perk.

My post was simply stating what I believe will happen. Most survs won't need to change they're loadout, they'll adapt or die. And if there is a significant change you will see some killers in here complaining about a new perk they're seeing more often.

Adrenaline is fine, you will rarely ever see it healing all 4 survivors and saving them. Does it extend an end game chase? Sure but now that survivor has to still get out the exit, all they're doing is giving the other survivors time to open the exit gates safely and either leave, find noed, or attempt a rescue (or a few of those together). At best what would have happened with no Adrenaline is the killer would hook the surv and stay nearby in the hopes of finding an altruistic surv, thereby leaving the survs time to open the exit gates etc. If they were lucky they may be able to hook near an exit, still leaving the other exit free to be opened. Maybe they'll leave the hook and search near the other gate but then, unless the hooked person is dead hook, they're getting saved and survs probably still have time to open the exit depending on gate placement, which is down to map luck.

The "newbie" thing wasn't meant as an insult, though I can see my tone didn't make that clear. My apologies. I literally meant that you have not played the game since launch like I have, and therefore don't know the game's history. That history is key to understanding the current situation.

You've never seen that build because you haven't played since launch. I explained why BT was dropped; however, the rest have remained.

360s didn't use to be an exploit. Hell, I was among the first to do it. Now, however, with the killer's FoV locked so they can't even look directly down, it will make them miss hits by exploiting said FoV and the "hit cone".

Letting survivors complain rather than engage the stupid complaints is how Freddy went from "weak" at release to "worthless ######### garbage" after the nerfs.

I disagree on Adrenaline being fine (and have done so since before it popped up more and more, just so we're clear), but that's a conversation for another thread.
