I wonder just how many people have gotten banned because of it...
Because they respectfully criticized the game with well thought-out arguments? Zero.

So "refusing to participate in normal gameplay" in the report descriptions is just for show?
That's not what he said. Why are you pretending he said something he didn't say?

Wouldn’t purposely ruining others fun fall under griefing?
Indeed.

What exactly would you report that guy for?
Being an #########. Regardless, that's very tame in comparison to the usual vitriol.

@DarkWolf2000 Legion's power at base is flawed and unfair. You get free first hits and can easily tunnel, which most Legion players seem to do.
Having fast movement speed, wallhacks, and a bleed-out bar isn't fun or fair.
The only thing they did to Legion in the last update was remove his exploits, and change the rest of his kit accordingly.
@Orion you think because someone doesn't like the playstyle of a certain character that they should be banned?
I think people who willingly ruin other people's games should be banned.
-
They're not rumors, it's fact. However, the rework they mentioned is only one of many they're trying out.
-
Ban them. If they don't want to play the game, that's their choice, but they have no right to ruin everyone else's trials.
-
It's not bannable unless it's done to the detriment of one or more players.

if the survivors were the host all of you would have complained if not hitting ######### and see things with delay so dont ######### start
and btw the moonwalking is not that important i said it only because i was thinking logically but the worst thing of this game is host advantage so if this doesnt get fixed at least i ask for decent hitboxes
Dedicated servers should attenuate the hitbox issues, but they will never be solved due to the laws of physics.
Literally every change you suggest would break the game. Your Lightweight buff, for example, would practically eliminate scratch marks altogether.

well you have to hit him in the right place in real life to instakill him not hitting him the arm or only cut his shirt ;)
and there are differences of realism on the basic funtions and realism on how the game works
So you admit realism is not a good reason to change the game. Good. Now what's your justification for removing mindgames?

those are my opinions you are free to say yours as killer mains but i say only if you are a good killer with those changes you shouldnt have troubles ;)
If you're a good survivor you shouldn't have a problem with a single hit putting survivors in the dying state and not being able to heal.
-
@DoberGaming said:
Slower walking backwards - Absolutely not. Moonwalking adds a higher skill ceiling for both sides.
yeah but its not realistic at least 20/30% slower
you try running behind lets see how it works for you
Then let's have a single hit put survivors in the dying state. For realism.

People like that are not going to listen. All we can do is report them so the mods can purge them from the game.

@Orion The tension was palpable when you happened to spend a few minutes of pure panic in the Swamp against a bloody Spirit, looking for the hatch in terror of being seen. Now the anguishing and furtive search of the hatch has almost disappeared: run to the gate... I like the Endgame Collapse, but the game is frenetic, it requires you to act, to run, you can no longer afford stealth, the anxiety of be hunted by the killer. I would very willingly try a new mode of real horror: no auras, no terror radius, no red stain... only your eyes and your ears, and the ability to sow the killer with the heart in your throat. Who knows, maybe in the future, with dedicated servers...
Coming back to us, why should the sole survivor accept a so disadvantaged game, full of penalties? Aren't his money, his time, his satisfaction as precious as those of the team or the killer? Would you play a soccer/basket/volleyball game with randomly chosen companions, without any prior training?
@Scgamecock86 You'll find friends by playing the first trials. :)
That pressure is why I play survivor, because pressure followed by the rush of victory is one of the best feelings there is.
The devs are buffing solo players, but it takes time to get the mechanics just right.
-
It can be tense sometimes, which is kinda what I'm looking for in a horror game.
-
Every single online multiplayer game that has ever been released has had updates. Stuff has been buffed and nerfed all over the place, sometimes reworked into something different, and sometimes even removed altogether. If you think this is a ######### business practice, then you should stick with singleplayer titles.

@Orion How are they supposed to win the chase. You won't lose a good killer. Unless they chose to abandon the chase you'll get caught eventually.
There are techniques, but no guarantees.

As easy as that is on paper, not everybody thinks to cleanse the totems for NOED. Totems can be pretty difficult to find too depending on what map you're playing. NOED in its current state is a little too unfair to go up against since it punishes survivors too hard to doing the objective.
Totems are objectives as well. You don't get to nerf a perk just because you're unwilling to do all your objectives and counter it.

Could a "save circle" around the hatch (maybe 1 meter radius) where the killer can't close the hatch while the survivor stands in it solve that issue?
No, it'd just trigger hatch standoffs again.

So if I read that correctly, you're not so worried about the Enduring nerf but you're worried about the stun times being increased because of it?
If that's the case then yeah, that's a good reason to be skeptical @Orion
I'm a bit upset about the Enduring change, but I understand it's the only feasible option they have. I'm only concerned that the stuns that were increased because of Enduring (such as DS) won't be reduced simultaneously, leading to a major ######### storm.
They basically have four options regarding Enduring:
- Having Enduring increase recovery speed differently for every single stun so the stun time with the increased recovery isn't too short nor too long (coding nightmare, never mind the description of the perk)
- Balancing stuns around Enduring (######### over killers who don't use Enduring)
- Balancing stuns without Enduring (######### over survivors if the killer uses Enduring)
- Making it so Enduring only affects certain stuns (fairly easy to do)
The first three are simply unfeasible. I don't like the last one either, but it's the best of the bunch.

This thread has been marked "BHVR Read". I updated the OP in light of that.

@gantes said:
You ######### yahoos
They already said on stream that this change was made so that they can take a look at everything else in this game that could potentially be considered a stun and re-evaluate how much worth they should have.
That means they can look to unify values when they should be the same regardless of enduring or no enduring, and that includes DS.
People creating threads to demand that after they already said so on stream remind me of the classic "Man creates scenario in his head, gets mad about it". Chill.
The only demand is that they do it simultaneously, as opposed to doing it one at a time. We already know, by their own admission, that DS's stun was increased because of Enduring. All we want is that they both get changed simultaneously, instead of taking away the only soft counter DS has and then maybe putting DS where it should be (where it used to be when Enduring didn't affect it, in fact) somewhere down the line.

I think this crown is going straight to your head. You don't get to dictate what the devs do, buddy.
This has nothing to do with the crown (which is basically an inside joke, FYI). I've never outright demanded anything of the devs, but this is an issue that cannot be ignored, unless they want another strike (or worse). These two changes must come simultaneously, as opposed to having one now and the next in a month, since they are explicitly connected.

If it goes back to 3 seconds then the Enduring change will have been for nothing.
Did they change the DS stun to 5 seconds because of Enduring or to make it a stronger anti-tunneling perk?
They explicitly changed it to 5 seconds because of Enduring, since they felt a 3-second stun was sufficient without Enduring. That's why it must go back to 3 seconds at the same time that Enduring stops affecting it.
-
@Blueberry said:
Tbh there could be a different compromise. For DS I'd actually rather it keep the 5 seconds IF we make it so it ONLY affects tunneling, of which it currently does not. IE reduce the timer to like 45 seconds or make it deactivate as soon as a different survivor is downed.
No compromise. First, reduce it to 3 seconds at the same time that the reworked Enduring is released. Then we can test alternatives in the PTB.
-
@mutabletiger4 said:
Even if they don't change DS back (I agree it does need to be changed though), at least you can play around it
No ifs. DS must have its stun reduced back to 3 seconds at the same time that Enduring no longer affects it.
-
The stream earlier today?
-
@Peanits @not_Queen @Patricia I know you guys have a lot on your hands, but this is an important issue I'd appreciate you bringing up with whoever's gonna make this change so they don't forget.
-
@CallMeSpidey said:
You mean the 4 second DS stun?
It's 5 seconds now, unless I missed something, and it used to be 3. It was increased to 5 with the excuse that it was too short with Enduring. Now, once Enduring is changed so it doesn't affect DS's stun, DS must go back to 3 seconds. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.
-
Just report and ignore. They'll remove themselves with their attitude and we can have a better game for everyone else.

Of course. You don't get to be King for no reason.

It's 2/1,75. What you're calculating is a 75% time reduction instead of a 75% recovery speed increase.

@TAG said:
I get why they answered the question regarding the RBT "RNG" the way they did, but I feel like there's still a way to augment the consistency of it without having to fundamentally rework the whole system. It could be as simple as changing it so that instead of applying a key ID to each box when the trap is put on, it applies the ID after the Survivor searches their first box (thereby making the first box always a fail).
Also, I feel like their response with regards to Plague's playstyle potential isn't likely to be terribly satisfactory among Plague players. I mean, what other playstyle is there to Plague beyond concentrated vomiting and quick bursts to let them eventually have to use a fountain (if they do)? As far as I'm aware, the only other thing to really do is vomit on things Survivors interact with and letting that take its toll, but I think even with the best add-ons for that, it is not effective.
Regarding your proposed Pig change, it'd feel frustrating to waste time doing something you knew would not benefit you by design.
I agree wholeheartedly with your comments on the Plague, however. Why isn't it OK to have a killer who benefits from preparing ahead?
-
What? Are the survivors just not breaking totems to counter NOED and then complaining that NOED wasn't countered?

Right, but it's still a downspike.
Because hardly anyone leaves reviews. I checked it out, the two biggest "downspikes" don't even have 20 people each. Compare that with the review bombing of the base game, which had hundreds of people, and you'll see why that's virtually irrelevant.
