I was referring to bt being used in an aggressive way, not being farmed. If you get immediately unhooked with bt i dont consider that farming
Well, I do. What's the point in being unhooked in the killer's face? I'm just going down again inside of 30 seconds.
-
The reward is helping to purge the community of such people and making the game better for all.
-
It's not bannable to sell someone out for you to live. "Working with the killer" in the reports would probably require something like a survivor leading the killer to every other survivor, bodyblocking to help the killer get them, slam pallets to block their path, etc., not just selling out someone else in order to live.I was wrong.

The perk counters camping, one of the most boring and uninteractive things in this game, it needs to be strong. Killers call immediate unhooks "stupid plays that should be punished" or something to that effect, but i see it not as survs being stupid, but as them wanting to do something engaging and exciting, instead of holding m1 on a gen.
Yeah, I love being hook farmed because someone wants to "do something engaging and exciting".

If people don't have the best wifi, they shouldn't play online video games. That's just a fact. Do you feel sorry for people whose PCs don't meet the other minimum requirements (because, yes, stable internet connection is a requirement just as much as GPU, CPU, and RAM) and think the game should be downgraded until their PCs can also play the game?

I would imagine it would disproportionate as there are 4x the survivors.
So you don't know what "disproportionate" means, I take it.
-
Being stunned, blinded, unhooked unsafely, having teammates who draw the killer to you, having teammates who miss skill checks, having teammates who run so-called "meme builds", etc. are also not fun. But guess what? None of those things are bannable.
Killers are not there to make sure you have a good time. They're your opponent in this PvP game, just like the survivors are their opponents. Learn to take the losses as they come and look to your own gameplay to see what you did wrong.

You view this as a FREE survive when killers are getting FREE kills via Mori’s? Wow. Why do people insist on nerfing survivors into the oblivion? This game is becoming very unfun.
Moris are literally offerings that you pay for with BP and need to hook survivors at least once to use it on them. The hatch will spawn and open for the last survivor 100% of the time, no matter what they did during the trial. I agree that the hatch is needed, but don't pretend Moris are "free" like people are too stupid to know the difference.

The ones who say its part of the game and go on about survivors "complaining" Im sure are the ones who do the same. Which is why its "okay"
Im pretty sure the game is about hunting down the survivors... and that is a category on the emblems right? That is what you call trash killers. They play like trash, so they look for easier ways to get those kills. I call them desperate. Kinda like the 4k killers who have to slug the 3rd survivor and make the game so fun and last 20 minutes longer so they can eventually get the 4th, so that survivor dont get the hatch...which is so lame and needs to be dealt with by behavior.
I mean when the killers cry over survivors hiding and prolonging game they fixed that. I think if you slug you have a certain unknown variable amount of time to pick the survivor up and hook them or they recover enough to get up...
Being killer can be hard but its a hell of a lot easier than what it was. If you can't play killer because of survivors, practice! The killers are op af. 2 to 4 meters faster, and most have a 6.9 meter lunge...its strategy and timing. If your off you lose. If you get a rhythm, it gets more smooth.
Idgaf if anyone agrees or disagrees its facts
The only possibly factual statement in your comment is that you call killers "desperate" for camping. Everything else is wrong.

I was playing survivor once, the killer said he wanted to farm. The second our guard was down he killed everyone. He was a rank 2. I let him know what I thought of him in dms.
The next day im playing killer and he shows up in my lobby. Suffice to say sometimes slugging them is a punishment.
Don't trust the guy whose job is to kill you. Or, if you do, be prepared for that.

Are there really no WW2 FPS games? I don't play enough FPS games to know myself, but that would be rather surprising if true. I vaguely remember hearing about it getting to the point where they made nazi zombies in some FPS. If it got to that point, I would have to think there was a number of them.
There are a ######### ton of WW2 FPS games. On the other hand, who doesn't want to shoot some Nazis in the face?

I may sometimes hit survivors once immediately after hooking them to cut their scream short. Repeatedly hitting survivors on the hook, however, is just a dick move.

I also play both sides (mostly survivor) and it is disproportionately survivors.

If the killer is genuinely bad and relies on the classic NOED facecamp to secure their 1 petty kill... Well, I feel like it's pretty obvious as to why that's bad.
In the other hand, if the killer is good and uses NOED for the whole cherry-on-top to secure those last few hooks, that's a completely different story.
I meant why is breaking totems a problem if the killer is that bad?
Also, one kill isn't going to get them to red ranks.

Watching Survivors crawl around helplessly with no possible way of continuing (or ending) the game is not a "playstyle." That would infer playing and the Killer is not playing.
It's not like the Entity stops progressing while the Survivor is on the hook, leaving them to endlessly hang on the hook.
Survivors bleed out in 4 minutes, which will end the game. Let's not pretend the killer is holding the game hostage.

Well, you have to understand that "iconic" and "classic" do not mean "extremely popular" and "recognized worldwide". Like I said in my main post, not every character has to be on the level of Myers and Krueger to be "iconic"! Silent Hill is iconic in the world of horror games because it is still being referenced and praised to this day as an excellent, groundbreaking horror game for it's time, and developers are still taking inspiration from the franchise. Of course there will be people who don't know about Silent Hill (especially younger gamers), but that's to be expected.
There is also talk of Konami working with Sony, Hideo Kojima and Masahiro Ito to reboot the Silent Hill series, so.... who knows? This could be a way to introduce more gamers to Silent Hill, through a monster and character from their game being in DbD! It would be very smart to include a popular, successful and classic horror game franchise in DbD.
Unless that talk of Konami wanting to reboot Silent Hill is recent, that project was cancelled long ago.

Playing solo you don't know where exactly your team is at. You might get ready to trigger the perk, and a non-suspecting teammate of yours will stumble on that gen, and you'll give out his position to the killer for free. As soon as SWF is in play, you have at least one pair of eyes more that can tell you if they saw the rest of the teammates anywhere.
Even as a solo survivor, there are ways to know where your team is. Aftercare, for example, which works really well with the Legion's playstyle.
-
It's fine. Rub those totems good until they explode.

I know it would be difficult to make the whole game from scratch but at least I would like to see those graphics with the new engine
Not "difficult" so much as "ridiculously expensive and require the entire team of developers to do it while sinking all the company's money into it".

I'd honestly be willing to risk it; imagine if they could re-code the game from the ground up to remove all the spaghetti code too (even though that may take several years). Plus, I'll take better graphics so long as current performance isn't harmed. I'm already at 13fps as an average, I don't fancy more issues.
Recoding the game from the ground up won't happen. The effort that would take is enormous and not worth the payoff.

I can only imagine the number of bugs that would bring...

I read what he wrote, reading comprehension suggests that what he said was that the devs did not say there was NO ADVANTAGE, which suggests that he is saying that people here are saying there is NO advantage, when no one suggested that. His post to me even suggested that I said there were no advantages. If HE wants to argue against me, let HIM argue against me, there's no reason for you to argue FOR him.
Reading comprehension actually suggests he's saying that what the devs said is so ambiguous, it could mean anything.

When I play in SWF I don't know half of the stuff you're talking about even with a 4 man. I can't describe every land mark and so on and I don't know many who can so that level of information is an incredibly ridiculous thing to say even for a 4 man. Most people don't use aura reading in general anymore either. The only information I usually get is "He's on me", or information about where a specific totem might be in very vague detail.
The landmarks aren't complicated. Logs, bus, shack, hut, hill, harvester, gate, and so on.
People don't use aura reading because they'd rather stack every second chance perk there is, just like they've been doing since "forever". Fact is, with aura reading split between SWF, you can all know where the killer is at all times, as well as all the survivors, because you can just share information. Aftercare is especially good for this.
If your SWF doesn't know how to properly give information, that's on you guys. The fact that you can't do it (or choose not to do it) doesn't mean SWF doesn't break DbD's balance.
-
Use Unbreakable and maybe some stealth perks so you avoid going down.
-
That's so wrong.
Japanese write right-to-left, not left-to-right.
-
Yup, it's because survivors don't break totems.

@KempAshton said:
A good survivor is going to know these things though. If I'm not being chased I can assume someone else is and do a gen. If im injured I can find a survivor by looking around different gens. Does swf give an advantage Yes. But to say its a problem is wrong. The problem would be 4 good survivors who know what they are doing and be efficient. You are also assuming that every swf plays optimally which is totally untrue. Ive demolished groups of players who have no idea what they are doing.
A good survivor is going to know where everyone is at all times and exactly what they're doing, as well as knowing the progression of every generator someone else has worked on, location of every totem someone else has spotted, shared aura reading, and so on? If you see a survivor like that, please report them because they're definitely cheating.

No I meant this, after looking for in in the stream review, they are planning on a change to mories but it's mainly discussion right now.
"Are any changes planned for the Memento Mori offerings, such as only being usable on death hook? (from @lucasdoamaral)
The developers have analysed the mori from a design perspective, and they don’t consider it perfect by any means (few things in a live game ever are), so they are looking to improve it at some stage. It is definitely “on The List” and is actively being discussed, but as with everything, it is a matter of priorities and they are unable to make any promises as to when such changes may be implemented."
It support my fear that they might over do it when they change them so discussing better ideas then death hook is needed imao since mories will get changes eventually even if it won't be soon.
Well, #########. Here's hoping they don't follow your suggestion or the idea of only being usable on the death hook. I'd like them to be useful so killers feel compelled to use them, if that's not too much to ask...

Didn't devs say something about planning to change mories in foreseeable future in the last stream thou ? I'm not fully sure but I think they did. Also they aren't that rare. They might be a little hard to come by if you are using them every match but I get a decent amount of them in my bloodwebs.
Changes to the animations, not the offerings themselves.
I meant they're rarely used, at least in the trials I've been in. Even when they're in play, I rarely get to see them.

I think they will and when they do I'd be happeir if they went with something like my idea then the death hook idea.
I don't think they will. They're already rare enough as it is. I can't get enough of those kick-ass animations.

Well it beats making them death hook, don't you think ?
Also DH is a perk that can be removed and needs you to not camp, survivors to not self unhook, gives other effects (1 hit downs) etc so it's not exactly the same as permanent effect that will eventually activate without possibily to be negated unless you escape.
No, I think it makes them worse. I think the way they work now is fine. Learn to take the L and move on.

@Kebek said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1281912#Comment_1281912
I suggested a few times to make them activate after killer gets their 4th hook. That way he can't tunnel and kill survivors right when they get unhooked but they still retain their power if the killer manages to get hooks early. If 4 proves too strong we can easily nerf them later on and rise it to for example 6th hook. I think that would be a pretty neat change.
We already have DH, though.
-
As a survivor main who exclusively plays SWF (never solo), you're wrong. My friend and I are usually just chatting (like how much I ######### hate the corn fields), but we still go full SWAT when we need to. We tell each other where we are, who the killer is, where the killer is, what the killer is doing, etc.. We run different aura-reading perks, so we basically know what's going on everywhere, always, and keep each other informed. We destroy some killers just because we know when to unhook, where the traps are, who's on gens, who's opening the gate, which gate is being opened, which gens are near-completion, etc..
When we get destroyed, it usually boils down to a few external factors:
- Other survivors are idiots (suicides, disconnects, running directly to the killer that they saw leave the area, stuff like that).
- Killer is just overwhelmingly good and/or running the most powerful perks and/or add-ons there are (we're not gods, and I in particular am only above-average).
- Bad luck (running into the killer at the start and getting your ass handed to you).
- Bugs (stuff like no TR, then loud TR, then you get smacked because the killer just came out of nowhere).
SWF utterly breaks DbD's balance. On the other hand, it can't be removed, so we're stuck with it. However, to say it's not a problem is absurd.

Yep, But it still doesn't dispute the facts of active progress vs inactive regression. There are perks tht give 200% passive regression and an instant 25% progress removal followed by 'normal' regression. At the end this entire argument is based on wanting survivors to have to actively progress a gen, buffing kicking to counter progression and buffing regression to counter progress, wht do you want every killer to automatically have ruin 3? If survivors could finish a gen I 8 minutes without touching it would you be cool with tht, but you want a killer to kick a gen once and it's regression to be unimpedable, pass.
There is one perk that gives 200% passive regression, and it can be disabled in 14 seconds. It's so bad that 99% of the time I don't even notice it on my first gen.
