I have to say, when I saw that skull, I immediately thought about the graffiti in Candyman. And it's obvious that a BUNCH of other people thought the same thing. This is either a red herring or a way-to-obvious clue to the next killer, that cannot have been coincidence.
When's the last time the devs planted red herrings?

I don't believe it's anything, since in the original movie there was the same type of mural

That's kinda the point, the skull seems to be a reference to those murals.

There are some bad, bad people playing this game...

Same as it's always been: the Candyman.

Kicking survivors out of the trial for hiding isn't fair. Here's a real example of why:
I was up against a Pig with an Ebony Mori on Coldwind Farm, who had already killed two of my teammates. As far as I could tell, the Pig had Surveillance, BBQ, an unknown Hex perk (was destroyed right at the start), and possibly NOED (because you should always assume NOED until proven otherwise).
I'd done a few safe unhooks and solo generators, and both myself and the other remaining survivor (Kate) knew where the hatch was. With the three generators regressing, my best hope was to wait it out. I counted on my stealth ability being greater than my teammate's so I could GTFO.
The match was very tense for a few minutes, during which time I simply broke a dull totem I found out in the middle of the cornfields and walked around the finished generators.
Eventually, Pig found Kate and downed her right on top of the hatch. Much to my surprise, she was hooked. I was right there, so BBQ didn't show my aura. Once the sacrificial animation was almost done, I ran for the hatch and jumped in just as it opened.
Under your suggestion, and if Kate had been better at stealth, we would've had no choice but to hand ourselves to the killer. With Surveillance we couldn't have repaired a single generator without Pig knowing and with the Ebony Mori I would've been ######### regardless. Kate had never been hooked until that point and was, in fact, the one who unhooked me when I was hooked the first time.
The matches definitely should have some sort of limit, but the idea of just kicking out survivors is bad. Because sometimes, hiding is all you can do.
-
I still think it'll be the Candyman, even though I read someone claim that the devs already stated it won't be the Candyman. I wish I could remember which thread that was so I could ask for a source...
-
I don't mind the heads, but I do mind that other survivors DC. GJ, DCers, you ruined the game for everyone else.
-
I wish I could see keys, but I rarely do. Not in the sense that they're not used, they're just ######### hard to see.
When I see a secret offering I think "Wonder if I'll get to see a cool mori animation".
-
For flashlight clicking and teabagging, yes, absolutely.
-
With a 2-man SWF we're lucky if we wait 5 minutes.
-
- Candyman
- Pennywise
- Xenomorph
- Pyramid Head
- Jason
2-4 are pretty much random since I don't think the devs would do any of them justice.

Frustrating because of bugs, swf imbalanceness and some other things.
And these things affect other people too, so why do you think there might be fewer killers?
-
Why did you quit playing killer?
-
Not enough killers.
-
I would immediately uninstall the game and never look back, as well as advise others to do the same.

And another killer main who is too biased to see otherwise.
- its 0.3 seconds at most, 0.03 at the least. It takes 0.1 seconds on average to blink, does that affect your gameplay too?
- its an oppertunity to buff weaker killers aswell, while also nerfing incredibly strong spammable abilities slightly once they touch the ground, meaning they could still trigger it while mid-air, before touching the ground to negate any stagger.
Survivor main, actually, and no matter how you justify it, I think the idea is horrible.

try that on the yamoka maps. or The Game. He blends in too well.
So he requires a different playstyle and more alertness. What's the harm in that? Do you want every killer to require the exact same strategy every single time? That's boring.

I don’t know, when i play the forest with it enabled it gives a much more intense and realistic feel. when something is running st me and i can’t see it crystal clear like dbd, it just feels more frantic than not, yknow? nevermind for asking though, everybody on these forums has to counter my posts in every way imaginable
Not trying to counter, just curious as to why people like motion blur. Your explanation makes sense.

You see the problem is, survivor can run away from myers/ ghostface/ wraith. Deathslinger's only counter is stealth, some select few loops with high + solid walls (so not killer shack), and putting objects between him and you (not including thin, low walls, or any wall with a vault near it, also not including most small map objects like rocks and crates) at a distance where it takes at least some skill to hit your target. Now take that and consider the nearly non-existent terror radius, the quiet/ subtle ambiance music the devs chose to use, and neutral color pallet, he can easily sneak up on you without detection and attack you at a max range of 18 meters
So yes, it's a huge problem. The only limit to this killer is whether or not the survivor can rush gens, and if the killer has basic aim.
Are you saying sprinting is disabled when you're facing the Deathslinger? Just keep your eyes open, man. Dodge those shots like you would hatchets.

Elephant costume isnt in the store yet.
I've seen Clowns dressed as elephants, though.
-
No, you may not have loops indirectly buffed by having killers nerfed in a way that makes no sense. Unless you want to go with what this guy said here:
@Dehitay said:
I'm all for making killers have the same chase advantages/disadvantages as survivors. Give them the same stagger effects on a fall. Give them the same vaulting speeds. Give them the same hitboxes for rounding corners.
Or are you not so much for making things similar and just wanting to nerf killers out of personal bias?
Nobody who wants the game to be balanced will support this.
-
Do you really need a crosshair? I can quickscope survivors as Deathslinger with no problem and I'm below average in FPSs.
-
Since this question was answered, I have one of my own. Out of curiosity: why would you want motion blur if you're looking for realism? It's a camera effect, like chromatic aberration. It's less realistic.
-
Yes, and I think it's absurd they can do this in the first place.

I admit that moderation here on the forum, in this case, is very easy. However, I have huge doubts about the moderation of the game. I do not believe for a second that the moderators are able to determine when the strategy becomes griefing.
I am therefore waiting for someone to explain to me how this moderation takes place. What are the specific criteria that make camping a griefing ? When can I report, when can I not ? These are completely legitimate questions.
Without response, I then assume that valid reports are simply thrown in the trash as soon as they read "camping" or "bodyblocking", and that the moderation of the game is failing.
It would still be much simpler if these things became clearly prohibited, or ineffective.
I doubt the mods operate under extremely rigid criteria when it comes to nuanced topics like this, and if they do, they wouldn't publicly mention them because people would just abuse them.
When in doubt, report. Worst case-scenario, the report is thrown out. Best case-scenario, you help get rid of a toxic player. There's no downside to reporting, assuming you're not purposefully sending false reports.
Camping is as effective as survivors allow it.

Nope, nice strawman though. You stand a better chance of getting a kill vs red ranks if you facecamp one of them than actually playing normally if youre yellow ranks.
What strawman? I gave examples to show how a strategy can be used for different things. Do you know what a strawman is?

@Chatkovski said:

- camping and bodyblocking are not considered as bannable offenses. It is explicit.
- griefing is.
- you agree that camping and bodyblocking can be used to grief.
So, it may be me, but it seems to me there is an obvious contradiction.
Like I said, strategies can be used to grief. For the mods, the question is "When has a legit strategy crossed over to griefing?"
The OP is clearly intending to grief other players because he thinks it'll somehow make the devs work faster. Someone facing a team of hook vultures, on the other hand, is just adapting to the circumstances. Both camp, but only one is griefing.
-
@Chatkovski said:
Here is further proof that camping - and especially the bubba-facecamp combo - is just another strategy. I don't see anything here that looks like grief. Everything is fine.
When will the denial end?
Bodyblocking is a strategy. Doesn't mean it can't also be used to grief. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

Truth. But not having a proper matchmaking system 4 years into the games lifespan is just plain idiotic. One would think it had higher priority.
They've been making improvements to the matchmaking and ranking system throughout those four years. However, those improvements didn't pan out how they would've liked. It happens.

So remind me again when they mentioned MMR... and we still haven’t received any updates on their progress. You can partially blame Covid but even before that no news, and they’re all still working from home.
Just a simple, yes guys were still working on MMR no eta yet, would help.
Because:
- We're not their bosses, so they're not required to give us status updates. The updates are nice, but let's not kid ourselves and pretend they're a requirement
- If they change their approach after mentioning their current approach (very common in software development and basically every other project), people will complain
- They have actually mentioned they're working on MMR and don't have an ETA yet. Even if they hadn't already mentioned that recently, if they were to give an update saying the same thing they said before, people would complain that they're not saying anything new
If you look at their track record, they follow through on big changes like this. So trust them and chill out a bit.

So its my fault that he is a douche and ruining others game?
Point out where I said that. When you're done, read the rest of this comment.
You were targeted this time by someone whom (I'm guessing) mentioned it in the chat. That's hard proof, so they get banned, but maybe the next ######### won't mention it in the chat. They'll just grief you, without explanation, in a way that makes it look like legit gameplay. You'll have nothing to base your report on (keep in mind it's almost impossible to prove intent) and they won't be banned.
I'm giving you advice on how you can avoid being griefed in the first place. The other alternatives are playing killer or playing a different game altogether - preferably one that's single-player.

The situation:
I kill 2 survivors before the hatch spawns, 4 gens left, 2 survivors left. I find someone BUT I just chase them for a while so another survivor fixes gens until only 2 left. I down the chased one and look for a hatch, I have so much time to find it. After I look around, I get to a downed survivor, hook them, get back to a hatch and close it. Always works.
Good for you for playing around the hatch, then.

Well, I don't even give you a chance because I always find the hatch as a killer. You get me?
Finding the hatch as a killer is not a guarantee. It's a chance.
-
No. It's absurd that one side winning should reward the other. That goes for camping too.
-
Yes. It's a mode called "Kill Your Friends". You'll have access to several customization options as well as all items, offerings, add-ons, and perks, but you will not gain any BP.

Wait but arent they assigned to something specific? Like cosmetics, chapter development ect?
No, they work on things concurrently. Why would they have dozens of people (I think hundreds at this point) working on a single aspect of the game? That would just make a big mess of things, there'd be too many people to coordinate.

Don't turn your Steam name into a URL and they won't know you're a streamer.

Sad but true, but they are woeking on an mmr ranking system so you wipp get matched with people of the same skill level. But they have "better" priorities.
Fun fact: developers can split into teams to work on multiple things at the same time. In fact, it's preferred. Too many cooks and all that.

If you were given endurance you can take a hit and get the on hit burst and move to a loop and then going down within 30 seconds is mostly up to your skill at looping.
Even if you werent farmed and the killer was some distance away, many killers come back to the hook immediately and they might just down you within 30 seconds anyway. The time you have when the killers coming back and the time you get after the on hit burst is mostly the sime and thus i dont consider diving with bt to be farming
If the killer is right there, endurance ain't gonna do #########. It's still gonna be exactly like the second half of a chase - killer already hit me once, 30 seconds later (give or take) I'm in the dying state, a few seconds after that I'm hooked.
You may not consider that hook farming, but I do, and it ruins the game for me.
