    Yeah, that's not true.

The Bubba who chased you for 5 gens and downed + facecamped you with NOED is totally your fault. He just outskilled you.

Facecamping is a plague on this game. It shouldn't be in the game. Unfortunately, there is no way to remove it that doesn't also punish innocent players.

I like how you are going to use that as an example instead of Rancor. You get chased for 5 gens and then just straight up die lmao. No camping required. And it's existence confirms the dev's don't care about 1 survivor dying cheaply. The killer still lost as a whole.

It's the survivors fault for being the one chased. It really is. For so long DBD was actually a stealth game at red ranks because the only killer there was Nurse. Don't forget that.

Those teleports seem instant, but are incredibly telegraphed and actually have a pretty long 'where is everything I can't see anything' moment. They also have an obscene cooldown and due to the bizarre spawn logic on TVs, may not put you anywhere near a gen.

Her addons aren't bad by any means, but Demos are much better - not only in terms of raw power, but in opening up completely different playstyles to him. A bunch of hers feel like stuff she needs basekit tbh.

But that's what I'm saying. She brings...nothing to the table. Which is why I'd say she's C tier at the highest. And a new killer being this bad is a huge step back, because most of the C and D tier killers are at least earmarked for a rework.

Well we did just get Artist. And even if she is a total snoozefest to play she is probably A tier. I kinda wish an iconic licensed killer would be stronger than this though. She DOES bring good asthetics and music at least.

Her condemned mechanic is what is holding her back, for sure. Until someone finds a good way to cheese it (probably involving the iri videotape) it's basically a worthless addition to her kit that they can't make too much stronger without it being busted.

    Yes and no.

Demo is actually probably the most analogous killer to Onryo now that I think about it, and is lightyears better in literally every regard.

    • His undetectable is better (why does she need a lullaby?).
    • His addons are better.
    • He has a decent anti-loop tool.
    • His traversal is better, due to it's shorter cooldown and control.

If you contrast her with GF:

    • His undetectable is better (same reason).
    • He has an instadown ability.

But okay - let's flip this around. What does Onryo bring to the table that other killers don't bring better?

Instant teleports with independent cooldowns. That's about it.

I can't for sure say her addons are bad yet though. As I said, iri videotape seems really solid.

Well water means you can probably run most shorter loops with no red stain. Telephone would mean they are hindered during it too.

Remote Control + Mother's Comb could be pretty dirty, allowing you to identify and tunnel video carrying survivors.

Bloody fingernails I hear makes getting hits straight out of the TV much easier.

VCR would probably be super solid with dead mans switch, etc etc.

I would say once those are confirmed to be bad, then I will definitely say Demo is the king of teleporting killers.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2842324#Comment_2842324

I play a fair amount of GF, and the two aren't even...remotely analogous. Ghostface has the ability to instadown, which means that you have a way to bypass getting looped, not to mention proper Undetectable status (the combination are what make him so interesting to play). And he's not even remotely a good killer - which is why he's getting a rework.

Yup, running a lot of info perks. She's fine in Midwich (but what killer isn't) and okay in Lery's. RPD is bad for her due to the fact that her TVs can spawn in bizarre, completely useless places. Open maps...she may as well be an M1 killer with a long cd teleport.

The killer she feels most analogous to is pre-rework Wraith. And that's not a good thing.

Both of them are visible stealth killers who need to approach generators meticulously. So the way you move them around the map is very similar; moving LOS blocker to LOS blocker until you can finally get on top of the gen you were approaching. Assuming that's even possible at the gen anyways, there are some you should just give up on. The gen at the top of dead dawg saloon comes to mind.

I'm still saying Demo is better than Onryo. Double iri Demo is just soooo insane for the hit and run / ambush playstyles. And you can actually hide the portals and come from unexpected angles. His above-average chase power means you can easily follow up on the free first hits too. Legit I wonder if I should even continue putting points into her or just buy more Iri's / Black Wards on Demo.

I will have to see what creative things I can get up to with her addons. Iri videotape + fingernails seems like it would be good. The telephone might be good too, although I suspect the hindered amount is a pittance like 3% or something.

  • @konchok said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2842330#Comment_2842330

But she doesn't just get free hits. She might be able to get a free hit on a map with no visibility at all. But on any outdoor map, there's no way. And indoor maps are the worst because they tend to be full of extremely safe loops for survivors. It's not like Onryo is having a field day on the Game or Lery's

You think Onryo won't have a field day on Lery's? It is Wraith's best map. It is Ghostface's best map. It will be Onryo's best map too.

I literally walk up to people and get free hits as Ghostface 24/7 on some of the most unfavorable maps imaginable. There is no way you are convincing me that somehow Onryo can't do it too.

  • @konchok said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2842310#Comment_2842310

When are you slowed down exactly? With Freddy the box with the clock is farthest away from you. With Onryo did you know that the box is chosen at random. And what's more when you take the video you then turn off the TV preventing her from teleporting to you. You can even go and take the tape you took and turn off the other TVs on the way to the TV that you need to go to and when you finally get there the animation to put the video tape in is less time than it takes a killer to wipe their weapon after hitting a survivor. So again, how could she possibly be better than legion or pig, they have better slow down and they have better tools in chase.

Because she gets a consistent free first hit? Pig doesn't unless you dedicate a bunch of your build towards it. Legion only gets it after a huge cooldown and after closing the distance on a survivor, which can take ages on some maps. Her walking up and getting a free hit out of undetectable is 100% better than Frenzy if the Frenzy isn't used to get chain hits. That's why Wraith is higher on every tier list than Legion.

I'm saying that they make her stealth feel 'right'. Without these two, there is maybe one or two situations every game where my stealth feels like it does anything.

They aren't crazy strong, which is why I'm suggesting to just bake them in.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2842241#Comment_2842241

I'm not saying that condemn should be 'killing survivors left and right for barely any effort' (if you are confident in your assertions, why strawman my position?).

I'm saying that as a slowdown/secondary objective tool, condemn feels like a lot of work on my side of things for a negligible effect. I've seen someone hit max condemn perhaps twice in 14 games, and that's with me actively doing my best to make it happen. I almost never see anyone bother with videotapes at all. It feels like a big part of her kit does...approximately nothing unless you are on maybe 1 or 2 specific maps (Game, Midwich).

You need to go play some Ghostface then lol. If you get good at him you will get good at Onryo, since they approach gens the same way. Wraith is probably more similar but Ghostface has to actually get up to the gens undetected to use his power.

Or maybe change your build? Stealth killers excel with information perks. Then you can make the determination if it's worth the extra ~5-10 seconds taking a wonky route to a gen to get a free hit.

I was getting tons of hits at gens with her, and a decent amount of "free" jumpscare hits during floods of rage. I definitely stacked up on indoor map offerings during the leveling process since those will be her best item.

  • @konchok said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2842285#Comment_2842285

Onyro has RNG just like pig, but hers is far worse. Let's say that you get 7 stacks of condemned and you need to return a VHS tape to prevent yourself from getting killed. With Pig you would need to interact with boxes at random until you find the right box, with Onryo you would be told which of the television sets you need to go to exactly. Onyro is like pig if pig traps told you which one to go to.

Also with Pig you are almost guaranteed to get a head trap placed on your head every game. But with Onyro you will get condemned 1 out of 100 games unless you go out of your way to get yourself condemened.

Legion is a better hit and run killer than Onyro and can use his power to consistently land a first hit. Onyro has stealth but that is much less consistent in getting the first hit, and she has no more tools than legion in getting the second hit.

Pig traps and Condemned are both just slowdown, not meant to kill. Onryo gets a free first hit. Pig doesn't get squat, unless you wanna crouch around at 90% movespeed. And her dash isn't a chase power at all but the most unsafe loops. Free first hit + mobility is better than anything pig gets if the bear traps don't buy her a ton of time.

Legion gets the free first hit too, but first he has to hold W all the way up to a survivor with a 32m terror radius and then has the massive cooldown to end frenzy. Onryo just walks up and gets the free first hit from stealth. After that they are basically the same. Legion is only better on the fringe case of getting like 3+ injuries with a lucky frenzy, which is contingent on the survivors being dumb enough to group up against a Legion.

  • @konchok said:

I keep hearing people say she's not the worst. Like what killer is worse than Onyro, who?

I would say Legion, and Pig if RNG is not in her favor. If Legion doesn't get a lucky chain frenzy and is only injuring 1 person at a time I would say he/she is definitely the worst killer. Pig is strictly worse if some people get the traps off on the first or second try.

I must disagree strongly with this. 'You may as well AFK if you get Badham' is not good design. And having a killer with no anti-loop these days without some sort of extremely strong other mechanic is basically saying 'this killer is intended to be bad'.

Why do you want a killer to be bad?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2842217#Comment_2842217

I forget which does which (currently loading in so can't check) but one makes the invisibility portion of the phase longer and one reduces her visibility radius.

One makes her not visible at a distance, the other makes her flicker longer while undetectable.

I would not pick those myself, they help her get the first hit which she is already good at.

The mirror and the newspaper help you get the second hit, which is where she struggles.

  • Uhh depends on the killer.

If I am on a threating anti-loop killer and the survivor is feeling pressured I have seen plenty of people just pre-drop every pallet they find. The funny thing being that on some of the latest anti-loop killers you STILL nail them anyways even with the pallet down. There's really nothing you can expect people to do other than hold W these days.

But if im on an M1 killer or something most people are still greeding loops with dead hard like usual.

  • Watch and hair? Isn't it old newspaper and mothers mirror?

I feel like actually being invisible while approaching gens doesn't matter in a lot of cases since you can get all the way up to them from behind LOS blockers. They are also totally useless if you are just teleporting on top of a gen.

I am pretty sure newspaper and mirror actually help you mid-chase by hiding your red stain for longer.

I didn't have nearly as many problems. Her cutting out of a ton of hold W. And being anywhere at once is powerful. She's very strong IMO. Nor is every iri OP lol

"M1 killer with mobility" has existed in the game for a very long time already. Most killers with a few stealth perks are a better stealth killer than her.

No one shot, no anti-loop, no hook defense, RNG mobility that can be turned off. Condemned might as well not exist. What exactly does she have? Hit and run? A bad tactic since CoH is a thing and most of my survivor lobbies have 3+ medkits anyways?

And I said "Almost every Iri" not "Every Iri".

I will play her some more tonight, hopefully with some actual good perks, but honestly I think Demo is better overall if you wanna play a teleporting killer. His mobility is almost as good and cannot be as easily countered. With addons his stealth is just as good if not better. And he has good anti-loop instead of being a garbo M1 killer.

That only works on RPD or midwich and you can still track the blood after hit. And if they don’t have iron will then boom there’s and other way to track. Perk is very situational

Who is bringing it without iron will? I always bring it with Iron Will and Lithe. And all you have to do is vault a window and run through the boon and that's enough to lose chase almost every time.

It's not meta, but to say it's weak? I don't think so. I think it's super strong when played around correctly.

  • Uhhh Shadowstep is super annoying. Not sure why you would think it's not good.

Removing a core game mechanic from the killer = 0 value? You lose LOS for 2 seconds and your chase is over, because it's not like you can actually track people by sound in this busted game. Half the time the footsteps are silent!

  • Almost every iri is OP.

She is medicore at best. I played as and against her all last night and was literally able to just ignore all the TV's / condemned. I didn't even bother turning off the TV right in front of my gens because if she came out of it I was not scared in the slightest. Why turn it off when there's like 3-4 safe pallets within arms reach?

Overall; she struck me as totally perk / addon reliant since her base kit is kinda cheeks. I still think she is probably the best M1 killer but that's still low on the threat list.

I played her for 5-6 games and then played some Trickster and instantly felt more powerful. It was like wow, a killer who can actually down people at loops and defend hooks wow. A killer where you can't just bum rush the hook in the endgame and all get out for free because of the second chance perk chain.

The other one I don't understand about facecampers with BBQ and Chili is how you need to hook each survivor to get a stack. If you're not going to move and you're not going to try to hook each survivor why even use the perk?

Because extra BP are extra BP. I camp with BBQ all the time and I just consider it a dead perk slot, similar to (old)WGLF.

Same with offering BP. Totally dead offering that could be a mori or a map but it's dedicated to the grind.

  • Yeaaaaah she is ok.

The sad truth is that portalgorgon is just straight up better. He is more expensive but gets almost her entire kit with no drawbacks. Silently teleporting around the map? Check. And...well that's her whole kit. I'd argue he is more silent about it too.

He can just get her wallhacks perk every time he teleports. Then he actually has a good chase power too instead of just nothing.

I wanted to like her so much....but M1 is M1.

There are nuances to everything. Yes, keeping your front door unlocked might not be a clever thing to do (even though in some rural areas its pretty common), but if someone goes in there and steals anything that ain't nailed down, that person is still committing a crime and is still entering unlawful. And in this case you can still berate the victim, if you chose so, but you shouldn't blame them and imply that they somehow deserved their fate.

And getting an invite on steam isn't like getting a random call on your phone and being quizzed for your personal information, steam is a gaming platform (duh, who would have thought :D) that encourages people to interact and to connect. As I said, this stuff is more nuanced then pure black and white vision allows for. Maybe give it a try yourself :)

The OP decided to add someone as a "friend" who was literally telling them to eff themselves in the endgame chat. What do you expect? Grab a hot frying pan and see if it burns you. It's Darwinism to the next level. We can only be happy the OP learned his lesson on something as trivial as a video game instead of something actually important.

And yes, getting a friend invite on steam from a random person is promptly declined. If someone made an impression on me, I know who they are already.

  • @Akumakaji said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2840408#Comment_2840408

Why start victim shaming, here? Yeah, maybe that wasn't the most clever thing to do after their salty chat, but 1) post game chat is always dumb, but in a real talk most people are just normal people and 2) more important, even if accepting the friend requests were the dumbest move imaginable, this still doesn't make BenZ0 in any way, shape or form responsible for this way, way, WAY over the top hatred and personal attacks.

So if I leave my house unlocked and with the door wide open, can I really be upset when I come home to being robbed? That's literally what this is the equivalent to. If I leave a 100$ bill on the ground in a public area, how upset can I be when I come back and it's missing?

It's just common sense. And yes, I will shame people for lacking it.

You are absolutely right but it is still weird that you are trying to defend ppl like this? xD Again I dont have anything against salty ppl writing on my profile, my problem is with ppl who literally harass friends of mine. You cannot just say "well just turn it on private", how about seeing it that way that ppl shouldnt do that in the first place? You cannot give in on everything other ppl do, sometimes you gotta show ppl that what they did is not okey and they should feel the consequences. Ppl like this will never stop otherwise, not doing this just for me, the mentioned streamer is very toxic towards many ppl. She and her squad seem to be very toxic not just towards me, more towards everyone.

Ok well i'm sorry your friends are dumb enough to accept friend invites from random strangers on the internet. Or even more dumb for staying there and listening instead of just blocking them? Idk what to tell you.

But then survivors would learn how to deal with her too, are you sure she can overcome that.

She's M1 so she's not going to be winning any tournaments. Is she fine for 99% of solo Q teams? Yes.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2840428#Comment_2840428

Sure, her perks are great. The only reason I bought her tbh. I'm not sure how much game knowledge helps when survivors just pre-drop every pallet and keep holding forward though. Sure, maybe there's a random, convenient TV to teleport to, if I get lucky. I'm also not sure what these good add-ons are you're referring to, maybe I'm just not seeing the potential. TV's turning on 6 seconds faster? Great, only 94 instead of 100 seconds! Blindness status? Please. The Ring Drawing has potential, but requires survivors to heal each other, something happening less frequently now that survivors have infinite AOE medkits. What are these add-ons that make her strong?

To me, she plays like Pig without ambush and RBT's. Pig can crouch to stealth, but doesn't require a manifestation period afterwards. Sure, she's not invisible, so I guess it's not entirely similar.

Have you played Wraith before? It's basically the same thing. At any point you are able to walk up to a gen from behind a LOS blocker and get a free hit to start a chase. Nothing says you need to commit to that chase; when you have mobility like she does. Nothing says you need to go straight from the TV dash into a hit. It's perfectly viable to get "close enough" to where the gens are from a TV and then just walk up undetectable.

M1 killer knowledge will let you know what chases you should even be taking. That's a huge amount of knowledge required. How good are you, how good is the survivor you are chasing, what tiles do they have nearby, what else could you be doing in the meantime, etc etc. M1 killers cannot, and should not, take every chase. And Onryo has the mobility she doesn't need to commit to anything.

And im talking the addon that makes her phase post-manifestation go an extra 2 seconds. You can basically use it at any loop and it helps quite a bit. ~6 seconds of no red stain? That's alot.

I plan on running at least 1-2 chase perks on her when I get them. I already brutal strength and it's great.

  • @BenZ0 said:

Well I am the exact same, I find salty comments funny. But why should I turn my profile private for ppl literally adding my friends? Also I dont have my yt name on my profile, you can see on the screen shots that my name is "horse" and that is obviously not my yt name.

You can set it to "friends only" as well? Almost every piece of information you give out online is voluntary.

Private profile, endgame chat disabled, and you are in a vacuum.

Kind of like that 500 win streak demo guy.

Yeah kids these days are soft. You read a post like this and wonder if it's his first online game or something. "Waahh someone said bad word over the internet"

  • @ObservantOfTime said:

The "fun" I'm experiencing right now is a novelty, survivors letting themselves get stacked up with Condemned just to see the mori in game, when facing people who actually play serious it's like I'm playing freddy without snares / pallets / dreamworld. In other words, a basic M1 killer with little to help in chase. I started running some Enduring / Spirit Fury, basically DH for killers, and it's made it somewhat more bearable, though I think I'm just going to go back to killers that can actually compete in the current meta.

It doesn't say difficulty "hard" for no reason. I don't think she's bad at all, just requires alot of game knowledge to play effectively.

She seems pretty strong with her add-ons. With the right ones she is basically an M1 killer without a red stain half the time in chase, which is really annoying at a ton of loops where you can't see her over.

Her perks seemed really good for her too. Call of brine deleting gens while you teleport across the map into new chases and floods of rage providing tons of jump scares.

Well, that's sort of on you for having a public profile and a public friend's list. As well as for using your youtube name in DBD if it's unrelated.

I allow comments on my steam profile but I know full well 95% of them will be negative. And i'm OK with that because I think it's hilarious. I bathe in the salt.

What do they have in common? Both are strong. Players use strong perks! Elementary, my dear.

When a perk is so strong and common that you are forced to play around it even when it doesn't exist, that's when I think it's problematic. And I think you could make that argument for some other DBD perks, but most only come into play in specific situations.

DH is literally every time you go to down someone you gotta account for it. Every other exhaustion perk has some sort of stipulation or drawback to use, but not DH. You just get your third health state to use on-demand.

It is a very helpful perk. The killer getting stunned and then having to do another chase vs just hooking you again? That's huge.

Sure but usually DS never means you escape, it just means you burn more time before your inevitable demise. I personally almost never survive when I use DS, unless it was during the endgame. Using DS typically means I was getting proxy camped / tunneled out and the extra time I bought was exclusively for the benefit of my team. And in MMR Solo Q, benefitting your team means diddly squat.

That's why I rarely use it, I would rather have the perks that help me not be in the "getting tunneled out" situation in the first place. At least in solo Q; where I don't really care about my team surviving at all.

  • Idk if it's a failure. Selling copies to every customer they currently have is more than likely a commercial success.

Realistically, I am ready for super long killer Q times for like 2~ days until everyone gets done being gen rushed as her and goes back to their mains.

Though, everyone has already identified her as a weak killer so maybe it won't even take that long. Arist was basically gone within less than a week lol, and she was actually pretty strong.

holy crap all of those were recent. I don't get many steam comments, but I get a lot of crap from end game chat. I only have like 3 pages on steam total, but the amount of end game chat salt I get is insane. Kinda funny to look at.

The secret to collecting tons of salty -reps is to turn your endgame chat off.

Then you can't ever accidently concede a response to anything, and maintain the illusion of a stoic killer main.

Not giving any reply drives people to -reps from what I have seen. Salty players need the outlet.

She's better than boons. Coh sucks to go against as any killer

I been playing killers who don't give 1 eff about CoH.

And Hag is fundamentally hit-and-run unless the survivor happens to wander too deep into your web. And hit-and-run is totally dead.

Hag in particular suffers from CoH especially hard since she can't really go snuff it and AND gets all her pressure robbed by it. Her and Twins are probably the most impacted killers.

I used to play a ton of hag but even now i'm not that naive to think she's nearly as viable anymore.

I am sure she can still beat mediocre players fine but against a good team they are just gonna run back to the boon infinitely every time you hit someone. Good teams already did that; but now the power is in the hands of the solo Q teams as well.

  • Playing Hag in the world of CoH? Gross.

Still stomps bad players I am sure, but what about when they just have a boon sitting outside your 3 gen and you can never get a down?

Not sure how I would handle that situation, since i've never played Hag since CoH came out. But to me it sounds like torture and that's exactly why I haven't played her since boons were released.

The worst part is it literally warns the survivor if they try to kobe. There will be a red luck icon above the progress bar which hard confirms the killer has monstrous shrine before you even finish trying to escape

That's the best part. So then they know they are .6% less likely to kobe and can fully realize there is no escape.

The only option is to finish being camped to death upon the shrine. Basement Bubba's unite.

I mean not really, I don't really even have to try to get -rep. I get -rep for existing at this point.

But if I try for it, that's when you get the salty novels. Omegalul, such an easy game to troll

There's no such thing as uncounterable downs, except maybe with Nurse. Lethal Pursuer and Discordance are a joke because they're just info. Info perks are highly overrated for killer, and they might as well not be there.

Ok well at 130% MS almost every loop in the game becomes unsafe and you are typically running it on instadown killers to boot. My tombstone myers build is running around with an 8m terror radius and an instakill on top of it.

The only counter is a god pallet right next to you and if those are already gone, they don't exist on your map, or you are not right next to one it's not realistically counterable. I usually moonwalk to the gens when my Tinkerer procs too.

Lethal is great. No other perk in the game has you getting downs in under 10 seconds into the match. Double range nurse can usually hit someone in her first blink. Same with discordance, it shows you where to go 2 seconds into the match some games; and then provides constant information beyond that.

If you wanna go all the way and say Corrupt and Deadlock are good perks, then ill go and say they are all trash compared to Rancor / No way out builds. 5 gens to tunnel someone, then you down and stand on top of the obsession and rancor them as gen #5 gets done. No way out holds the door for the 3k. It's literally the best build and strategy in the game for every single killer, and it's banned in tournaments. Does that mean i'm running it every game? No, it's boring. Strong play can compensate for perks on any killer that can outplay a survivor at a safe pallet.

It’s a strong combo and is great if you want to win the match.

How is Mothers Glasses + Wakizashi Saya? That's one that looks interesting too but i've never played as or against.

Honestly just curious. I think for me, it's got to be the iridescent add on, Kintsugi Teacup. Here's the description:

"A cup mended and lacquered with powdered gold. Both the breakage and repair are part the cup.

    "

I consider it to be a super well designed add on that is fun to use and very effective. What I love about it is that it punishes predropping survivors extremely well and it also gets new Spirit players into the good habit to kick more safe pallets. It sucks it’s Iri as I consider it an amazing choice for all Spirits at every skill level.

So tell me. What is your favorite add on from Spirit?

I just do Mother Daughter Ring + Cherry Blossom. I don't play spirit much. But when I do, I keep it braindead.

But if I did play her alot, I would be all over the Senko Hanabi. Built in bamboozle if you start your phases at the right side of a window during a loop? Yes please.

i also think it's a bit overhyped, the effect is more a "quality of life" effect than a "it gives you a free down" effect (just like Brutal Strength). It's really strong in camping situations and it's imo one of the better chase perks if you have 8 stacks, but everytime i use it on a normal M1 killer it get's in my way because of the obsession taking hits or something like that.

I think all of the chase perks are bad except Bamboozle, which can have a strong impact and a free down if used right. Enduring on itself does nothing on save pallets and even on unsave pallets it's not a free hit. It just makes stuns less annoying. To be viable, you need to stack them (EndFury or Brutal+Enduring), which isn't worthy imo. That's why you rarely see them at higher level except something like Huntress (Brutal Strength seems to be common on her) or M2 killers (Stbfl) maybe.

I think there is some decent merit to Enduring by itself. It definitely enables a very confident playstyle that occasionally catches greedy survivors off guard. I actually run it on almost all my M1 killers and alot of people will greed a pallet thinking I am going to respect it.

Especially on M1 killers, against good survivors you WILL be eating a ton of pallets. The looping will be so tight there isn't any other option other than respecting and probably allowing the survivor to get extra loops.

There's also a few killers who do just get straight up hits because of brutal strength. Clown and Pinhead come to mind. You hit them with a slow, break the pallet, and then usually get a hit if you zoned them to the correct side.

PWYF is also the king of chase perks and allows totally uncounterable downs, assuming you can handle the time constraints it puts on you.

I play low tier killers at an MMR where the gens can get done in 3-4 minutes. I'm tunneling every game, thanks.

I also think it's overhyped, despite also liking it. In many scenarios, Corrupt or Deadlock is way more worth it than 8 stacks of STBFL. Holding forward is still a thing, you shouldn't be using your special attack at that point but then you're an M1 killer, and the obsession constantly wants to get chased by you, and holding forward is still a thing because even STBFL x8 isn't enough catch-up. 8 stacks of STBFL will not singlehandedly win you the match in the late game, which is what many people claim.

Corrupt is overhyped too. It is very map dependent and in some cases might as well not even be a perk. Survivors can still all spawn right on top of generators with it equipped, although it is less likely. High mobility killers I use discordance or lethal pursuer instead for the early game. And yeah 8 stacks is strong, but it's still M1 attacks. You will only get multiple M1 hits in succession if the survivors allow it or you are facecamping.

  • @GoshJosh said:

It’s pretty busted with camping, overly altruistic survivors made me go from what was looking like a sure 1k to a straight up 4k after the gates were already powered. Basically just because of this perk.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2832566#Comment_2832566

You might be surprised how many people don’t expect it on them.. say, Huntress. 🤣

Camping is about the only time I ever get any real use from the perk. And if I want to camp, it's better to just pick a killer with a camping oriented power. Someone like Huntress can just put on Oak Haft and basically get it for free without having to limit their playstyle.

Even at like 5+ stacks I barely even notice it in a regular chase. The time saved is usually marginal outside a select few killers who can quickly M2 after the M1 and use it for a down they would not have been able to get otherwise (deathslinger). On most M1 killers I save way more time overall with a regular chase perk like Enduring or Bamboozle.

  • It's ok. Way overhyped I think, and it pains me to see people run it on killers with strong M2s.

It means you get even more punished for tunneling through DS. You can't kill an annoying obsession, even if they figure out you have it and actively bodyblock you. I don't even run it on Demo; the amount of games you will need to eat DS for a kill to win the game is very high.

    I mean,

    https://youtu.be/eXiPxgjJYLY

But that was before the MMR. I do not recommend it now, it was the build I achieved 150 winstreak with.

I don't find the games have changed that much. A sweat game is a sweat game, MMR or not.

And stomping solo Q pre MMR isn't a feat, that was just standard and every seasoned killer had like a 95% winrate. The fact you even CAN get a 150 winstreak tells you the game was busted lmao. Try that in a game like League starting from your real MMR and it will never happen.

But I digress, "I got a winstreak on Bubba" isn't much of an argument. Free downs are free downs.

His best build is 100% facecamping with Rancor / No way out / Nemesis if you want to be really sweaty about it. You just automatically win if you get a down in the first 60 seconds of the game, fun.

I do not recommend the use of Tinkerer, while it's good it will drive you insane in high MMR games. Even if you can pressure, seeing and hearing 3 gen notifications at the same time is not good.

I think it's one of his best perks. I don't think there's really any other killer who can just casually walk up to a gen and get a totally free down like Tinkerer Bubba can.

They can counter it by the time they know you have it, but by then it could be too late. Especially if I offer an indoor map with it, I will get like 5/12 of my hooks just off tinkerer.

  • @NathyP11 said:

I was doing fairly well as Bubba to begin with, but last 5/10 games I have been struggling massively. Gens are flying and I am not winning chases quickly and resulting to M1 most of the time. Does anyone have any tips or really handy builds?

I am not getting Corrupt in my bloodwebs which I think would help a LOT.

Do you have bamboozle? I would argue that's his best perk on most maps. Without it you are gonna be forced to M1 alot and can get looped pretty hard at jungle gyms and the shack, let alone god windows.

My go-to for a random map is Corrupt, Pop, Bamboozle, Tinkerer. That gives you a bit of everything.

Bubba can get away with alot of off-meta stuff though since his basekit is so strong.

I also get a pretty decent amount of salty survivors reporting me for the funniest reason.

Using Leprose Lichen (which makes you see all auras once you teleport as demo) - getting reported for wall hacks

Using akitos crutch as oni - speed hacks

    Using BBQ - wall hacks

Playing Arist and someone is swarmed by crows - wall hacks

Playing plague and you hear a survivor caughing - wall hacks

Playing Legion - speed hacks (yes I am not joking) and wall hacks (cuz I grabbed someone out of the locker with FF and killer instinct)

I feel actually sorry for the guys who are receiving those reports.

What guys receiving the reports? Nobody reads them.

  • I have had a game where 2 gens were done before corrupt intervention is over, and I only saved it from being 3 because I executed a near perfect chase with a low tier killer and then kicked it with pop. And I know it would have been all 3 had the survivor just pre-threw a few more safe pallets instead of trying to actually loop.

Games like that? Yeah, i'm tunneling.

And it also literally blows my mind survivors will complain about tunneling when they are rushing the gens that hard. In the old days at red ranks 4/4 survivors would have BT/DS because it was EXPECTED the killer was going to have to tunnel. I guess somewhere along the way we forgot about that?

  • @Nebula said:

    I know, I know, another camping/tunneling post.

This problem though, is apparent in at least half my games, where the first person to get hooked will be tunneled and or camped out of the game as quickly as possible to turn it into a 3v1.

This just perpetuates a cycle of survivors complaining about these problems, running meta perks to counter them, then playing killers who don’t do either of these things and punishing them for playing in a more fair manor, turning them into killers who camp and tunnel these survivors out.

This is a very unhealthy cycle for this game to be in, as it promotes “toxic” behavior and a stale meta. Survivors will run the same 4 perks every game, and killers will get a person out as soon as possible to counter this.

I understand that this has been a problem for a long, long time, but when it comes to game design, fun should be the first priority. The current state of the game does not promote “fun” interplay between the survivor and killer and 90% of the time, one side of the lobby will be left with a sour taste in their mouth.

Apologies for the rant, but just wanted to put my thoughts out there.

3 gens done in 2 minutes. That's all you gotta say, really.

If the survivors actually do gens instead of crouch walking around the map being scared that's how fast they can get done. Camping and tunneling is a necessity.

I have been playing dbd since the beginning of february now. I am almost iridescent 1 on killer, which I main for 80% of my games playing pyramid head, trickster, and pig. I basically only play survivor for dailies or if I have friends that want to join.

Let me explain some things in detail:

    1. I do not facecamp. Facecamping is bad strategy. It gives the other 3 survivors tons of free time to do gens and find my totems.
    2. I DO tunnel. I tunnel A LOT. If I hook someone, go check a couple of gens, then get the unhook notification, I am going to chase them both down and then choose to hit the person who is injured. Most of the time, that is the person who was just unhooked. If both are injured, I'll hit whoever is closest.
    3. If there are only 1 or 2 gens to go and I have someone on second hook, I'm not leaving. I will not stand in front of them without moving, but I'm not leaving the area. Can you convince me that there is a better play than this?
    4. If I am leaving the area to patrol gens after scoring a hook and I see someone lurking for the save, I am no longer leaving. As pyramid I can get an easy punishment of the damned collateral. With pig I can stealth around the hook and get an easy grab. That's not camping, that's the consequence of bad survivor play.
    5. If I am chasing an injured player who has been unhooked, I will completely ignore healthy survivors that are clicking flashlights or trying to block me until I down the injured survivor. If someone is actually impeding my progress by standing directly on me, I'll take the free hit. But as soon as I take that free hit I am back to chasing the original, hook stated survivor.
    6. If I am up against a team running a sabotage/flashlight save strategy, I will leave people slugged all over the place until the flashlight or toolbox holder is out of commission. Why would I not, if it just removes the effectiveness of the items that were brought? Yes, unbreakable is a risk, but I rarely see more than one person running it at a time recently. It's usually DH BT DS and then either Iron will or CoH.
    7. In conclusion, as killer every decision you make takes time. Your time is worth 4X more than a survivor's time. But kicking one player from the game as soon as possible knocks that value down to 3X. Which makes it easier to knock down to 2X. And so on, this is how the killer wins. In my eyes, this is efficient gameplay.
    8. Perks like devour hope, BBQ, and make your choice incentivize a more run and gun playstyle away from your hooks. I know that they exist, but I'm not here to farm bloodpoints with BBQ. I am here to hit rank 1 ASAP

I will await your responses, as playing like this gives me consistent 3 and 4ks, and consistent elo and mmr boosts.

Since I subject myself to some solo Q every now and then....

First is that high MMR is a bad thing. You have nothing to gain in DBD by playing more skilled opponents, not even bragging rights since it's totally hidden. Easier opponents means more hooks which means more bloodpoints per minute.

Second, once you get to high MMR you will realize there IS no other strategy than camping and tunneling since the games are completed in 4-5 minutes sometimes and you will be forced into the playstyle rather than choosing it. Camping is also low skill gameplay (even if I love doing it).

Third, the game has very lackluster balance; and the MMR system is usually negated due to que time imbalances. That makes it very, very easy to go into a match with either a build that is complete overkill or one with no chance in hell. The solution to that as a killer is to just bring overkill and tunnel off the rip every game; which it sounds like you are doing. But in reality you are usually just winning the game off 1 person's mistakes and your OP build rather than actually outplaying the team or being better than them as a player.

Run 3 chase perks and watch the gens fly. Come on now. I'm talking about top survivors not potatoes. Once good survivors know you have fury/enduring they predrop everything. I sometimes use bamboozle on myers though because it's good on him.

Well I kill people on first hook alot when I play myers. Not sure what you do. I don't always need slowdown to win. Coup is literally free 1 shot downs on him. Not sure what else you could ask for. Don't complain about playing a weak killer when there's tons of viable options. "I need 4 slowdowns on my M1 killer" sounds like a you problem.

Cool but what if I wanna play Myers because he's my main. Or Pig, Clown, or Legion. I hate when peoples answer is play a different killer with anti loop. I play all the killers. JUST PLAY NURSE OR BLIGHT. How about I wanna play dam killers I paid for and not worry about being destroyed by pallets all game.

Then run chase perks or play better. I use 3 chase perks on Myers sometimes. Endfury Coup de grace Myers doesn't care much about pallets.

I imagine some regions are less competitive than others and as Patrick stated in Q&A, he said that killer/survivors that leave the queue are backfilled with any MMR. I do agree that survivors that play novice/play poorly are easy to beat with any killer.

I just think she will end up being add-on reliant, but that's nothing new. Hit and run with a global map presence is pretty new. People were on here saying Twins were garbage when they first came out and they were solid A tier. People said slinger was garbage, people said pinhead was garbage, etc etc.

It's too early to make those calls. People are so hung up over condemnation actually killing people when in reality it's just there as a slowdown. People gotta run across the entire map to dump off their tape, and that's time they are not on gens.

She is a stealth killer, she is going to have weak maps.
