Facecamping/camping only really works with killers with an instadown. Camping as a strat with any M1 killer is going to bring you nothing but pain and 4 man escapes. Bubba is really the only killer who can reliably camp and win, and that depends on the survivors being altruistic.

And it you really want to camp, that's your right, but unlike the other killer mortal sin (tunneling), it becomes less and less effective as the skill of your opponents goes up. If you climb mmr, you will see a lot more 3 man escapes even if you camp one to death.

And it may not matter to you, but camping will not earn you friends, and when you do lose, expect to get your nose rubbed in it.

I disagree with that, as someone who regularly wins while facecamping. All it takes these days is No Way Out + Rancor and you are golden. Facecamp for 4 gens, follow the obsession until the last gen is done, rancor them, and then collect a 3rd kill since NWO held the gates during the mori animation. Here's a guy who got to a 50+ streak facecamping post MMR.

Dead By Daylight | Professional MLG Facecamping 69 Live w/ Bubba - YouTube

I would argue that killer in general will never make you friends if you win. 12 hooks or facecamping, the salt will be the same.

Me? I do it because it's easy. And I don't care about survivors having fun. I have played enough killer that the care is totally gone.

And why limit yourself to just one? Camp AND tunnel to win. Doing both to the same survivor is a "Russian tech" now apparently but I just call it "playing to win".

It can get boring, but it's a tool in the arsenal. And all it takes is a few springwood/haddo offerings in a session before i'm legit done and start facecamping and tunneling everyone I can get my grubby hands on.

No, you couldn't just spam them the whole game. Believe it or not, he had a limited amount of snares. More than 5! Can you believe it?! But seriously, besides his weaker Clown bottles and tp to gens, what did he have going for him? Nothing. He was an M1 killer at the end of the day, with a few medicore tools to help give him some amount of pressure. How he was ever placed in S tier, or how people continue to talk to this day about how OP he was, I'll never understand. Pre-nerf Freddy would get crushed in the current meta.

Uhh I thought he was pretty nuts. 8 snares was enough if you were laying them non-stop the tail end of them still would not reach you even at a long loop. It was like playing a game of Snake until the survivor actually started hitting them.

If you actually put some thought into the placement it was even better. Pretty much every loop in the game was negated. God windows? Negated. Predrops were the only option and even then it had to be a really safe pallet not to take a hit.

He was also in his prime before the BT buffs came in. And before the Mori nerfs came in. You could facecamp hooks and then mori straight off them and there was literally nothing survivors could do it about it. And yes, I did do that a ton because why not? Then add in a ton of free slowdown and you had an A tier killer that took almost 0 skill to play.

His only real weakness was Object and even then he had an addon to stop it if you knew you were hitting a sweaty object 4 man.

Almost every match I've been playing as killer, I start my first chase, down them & hook them, I'm like sweet, 5 gens left, Then 3 pop at once. It's actually getting to the point where I don't enjoy killer anymore because of this. Killers usually are like "Oh I'm getting Gen rushed. No you just got screwed over by the RGN of survivors spawning next to individual gens. And yeah i could bring slowdown perks for gens, But Ruin doesn't exactly help if they're on it whilst I'm in chase, ect. Its the same with Hex totem spawns, U load in and it is cleansed immediately. It sucks and its unfair.

Corrupt intervention is arguably the best killer perk for a reason. It's the one thing that stops survivors from working on gens within 2 seconds of the game starting. I use it on almost every single killer and in almost every single build. High mobility killers I think discordance is better as an early game perk.

    Yeah, I disagree completely.

    A few things.

    • I'd say she is about as viable as Mirror Myers, probably slightly weaker. Her stealth is less effective than his and she lacks the crazy aura reading, in exchange she gets passive phasing and a mostly irrelevant secondary objective.
    • The issue isn't that killers don't know how to counter-loop. It's that survivors have become pretty savvy as to how to run things, and some maps just have too many strong loops linked together (Swamp, Badham, Eyrie, Game etc). You can go and watch Otz's Nemesis streak as an example - someone ran him for almost 2 minutes...on Nemesis. And that's a defacto pro-player.
    • Because of this, killers need an anti-loop. And this doesn't always have to be a tentacle or a birb. It can be an instadown (GF, Myers), a strong initiate (Wraith) or a gap closer (Demogorgon). Actually, killers have had anti-loop tools since the inception of the game. Which is why Sadako feels so terribly undercooked.
    • Midwich is a strong map for almost all killers. RPD is miserable for everyone (I hate it on Sadako because TVs can spawn in completely useless spots, like the floor above/below a gen). Lery's is a great map for almost any non-ranged/chainsaw killer. This is neither here nor there.
    • What? There was never 'less antiloop', unless you are talking about the game's launch (which will never be a metric for good balance). The only killers I can think of offhand that didn't have anti-loop were pre-rework Wraith and Trapper (and even he's debatable). Instadowns, teleports, snares etc. are all a form of anti-loop. A killer's viability is determined by their ability to end chases quickly - and their toolkits should reflect that.

I mean she is OK. I find myself having to run enduring and bamboozle on her to make it tolerable though. Maybe I could lose the enduring but I would never play her without bamboozle.

You just can't friggin down people fast enough without it. There are mindgames and such you can try at the jungle gyms / shacks / etc but eh forget it. You make a few mistakes with the mindgames and you expend game-losing amounts of time for maybe not even a pallet drop. There's also all the god windows she will get completely dumpstered at.

I'm still experimenting with the best way to play her. With her iri videotape you can definitely TV spam the crap out of people and get kills through condemnation. The TV spawns add in a ton of RNG to her kit. Sometimes you get like 3 of them all stacked up around a loop and you can attack a survivor from tons of different angles with her VCR addon and it works out great. Others, you get 1 TV for a whole section of the map and they just turn it off.

Good survivors never get hit directly from a TV, even with her fingernails addon which is a shame. Her VCR addon is actually really insane with dead mans switch and will force a bunch of TVs to get turned off. I have been black warding VCR + Iri videotape for now.

If you escape that often it should be high to the MMR logic.

No I do the winstreaks on killer. As survivor? I don't even keep track of my wins/losses because it's so reliant on your team. I would have to be in a SWF because high solo Q streaks are impossible unless you are doing left behind key every game.

Too many MMR failures giving me potato teams + sweaty killer or random DCers/suicides for that.

It's one thing to go against a sweaty killer with a full stack of good survivors, it's another when they are babies who get tunneled out in the first 2-3 minutes of the game. I load into a game and someone is chainsawed by Bubba in the first 20 seconds of the match? You might as well just go AFK as a solo Q survivor. That's why I hardly play it.

  • I play against most of the big DBD streamers and people who play in tournaments. So I wanna say I am. I still go on like 20+ winstreaks post MMR regularly. There's no way it's not high.

Silent hill and Rpd are the worst closed maps in the entire game

I think that one goes to "The Game". It's funny going there with a flashlight but good lord is it bad as killer. It's one of the most broken maps ever made in DBD.

  • @NathyP11 said:

I don't really use them ever, is there a tip for aiming flashlight on console or in general?

You mostly want to be using them when the killer is in an animation lock. Otherwise the killer can just look up.

And you need Iron Will with it too, otherwise they can just follow you by sound.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2848112#Comment_2848112

But the survivor could still drop the pallet early or run away from the loop. Assuming they did stay, you did have to place the snares right as well, one on each end and then one in between them, and that was barely enough slowdown to hit them before they got the pallet. And again, this wording of "spamming" your killer power is so laughable. Why do we play these killers? To use their specific power! The only killer that's come close to having a spammable power is Trickster who wrongfully got his knife count reduced, or Legion who misses 1 attack these days and loses his entire power.

Yeah but I mean you could literally lay them down as you walked. Nonstop the entire game. And that actually worked. Sure you could do some things a bit fancier but why bother in most cases?

I did him with bamboozle and it was about as auto-pilot DBD as it's going to get on killer. The only comparable experience would be Trickster or Bubba. Holding W and spamming M2 24/7. At least Wraith has to mindgame a fair amount. Freddy you could win plenty of games with pure W.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2847494#Comment_2847494

He was never braindead. You had to maneuver yourself right or a good survivor would completely destroy you. One survivor knew how to loop you, and you lost the whole game. Freddy was never braindead either for the same reason.

Old freddy was so braindead. Not old old freddy but the pre-nerf reworked one.

You could basically just spam snares as you walked around the loops and it actually worked. You didn't really even need to place them correctly or anything.

It was nerfed after two weeks, basically the earliest possible.

And you cannot compare a Perk which was intented (Boil Over) to a Perk Combo which is obviously bugged.

I mean broken gameplay is broken gameplay to me. I think boil over was way worse than this. This I can still counter by just camping and tunneling them to death. It's not like boil over where they were literally unhookable on half the maps.

  • @anarchy753 said:

One big reason to play Sadako over Demo would be if you started after December.

Other than that, not much, and even then the question just becomes "is there a reason to play Sadako over Wraith?"

They hotfixed the RPD map what are you on about. It was fixed within a day because of the inability to hook a survivor and on top of it even made it so the killer could block the stairs.

Yeah. No. Boil over was busted and remained busted for weeks before they fixed it. It wasn't just broken on RPD. It was broken on a metric ton of maps.

  • They didn't do squat about boil over. You think they are gonna do it for this? Hah.

If survivors start spamming it im just gonna play wraith lol.

Topic title. Here are my thoughts:

-Pig's stealth is very slow at base and not viable to use for even moderate periods of time (especially past the early game). Time is not on your side to be moving slower than a non-teleporting Nurse.

-Pig's ambush is painfully situational and heavily telegraphed. It is only usable on some loops, and even then, Pig has to make a complete guess (since she cannot see properly unless an add-on/perk gives them aura reading) and hope the opponent makes a mistake. Outside of that, its use is extremely minimal unless you are doing something very specific like trying to preserve stacks of Save the Best for Last.

-Reverse Bear Traps are wildly swingy with whether they provide a meaningful amount of stall. Sometimes they can knock someone out for a good while; sometimes it barely better than mending. When it works, it works, but when it doesn't, you lose a ton of pressure. Not a great thing considering that you already need to win chases with a subpar antiloop to make use of a highly variable slowdown.

-Her add-ons suuuuuck. The only thing the add-on re-work did to make her kit better was make Amanda's Letter easily the best add-on at her disposal. She still has large number of trash add-ons, and one of the weakest Killer add-ons in the game (Amanda's Secret) went untouched.

She has a decent variety in her kit, but almost all of it is heavily lacking.

If you agree with this stuff, I guess you can toss your two cents into this thread. But I'd like to hear from anyone who thinks I'm wrong. Maybe help me see things from a different POV.

Still the only killer in the game who can 4k while AFK. More realistically 1k while AFK, but the chance is still there.

Other than that she is pretty meh but her head traps can buy a lot of time if you can actually down people. Not a killer I ever play without stacking up chase perks on her first. Pure M1 chases are just too painful.

  • First chase:

You just held W at the L T wall. In your first chase with a survivor you should have moonwalked and double back at it, and see if they catch on. If they do don't try it again but it works more often than not.

You charge the shred too late at the shack. You should be charging that right as you come up to the door, not once you are already inside.

From there you insta vaulted, rather than doing a moonwalk fake with the red stain first. You also could have double vaulted or triple vaulted as a mindgame.

When Nea camps the pallet you M1 instead of shred, which was a mistake.

You respected an unsafe pallet. Run through it or don't.

If you are already eating the blind, spend the time breaking the pallet too. You also just stood in place instead of attempting to follow them while blinded? From there the game was already lost.

There is alot you could improve on.

    Title.

Unfortunately, Ringu chapter hasn't been the greatest release for many reasons. Personally I think it was because of:

    • Onryo has a hit and run power in a circle of healing meta
    • She has nothing in chase in a time where lots of maps still need adjustments (badham, eyrie, etc) and when pre dropping is common amongst survivors
    • Her power feels lackluster - her condemned feels unrewarding and unnecessarily hard to use
    • She isn't fun for the majority of killer players (although release trickster was the worst killer, he was still super fun for a lot of people due to the nature of his ability, which is why I liked all kill)

If the meta of Circle of healing, predropping, and overpowered maps weren't here, I guarantee Onryos release would've went 10 times better.

Sure she would still need buffs, but she would not be in the state she's in now (which I would argue is an unfun, bottom 3 killer).

I am really praying that this mid chapter comes with some good balance changes because I can tell this game is becoming incredibly stale and frustrating even for experienced players.

I know it's a lot to ask but a health chapter would be great for future killer releases and the general health of the game. As I said earlier Onryo would be in a much better state if the meta wasn't in a terrible place, she would actually be interesting and fun to play.

She still has meta perks. I didn't get enduring this prestige so my experience lately has mostly been painful but with a solid build I think she will be pretty fun to play.

    @GoodBoyKaru said:

I feel like I'm the opposite of most people in that I cannot stand Trickster and Sadako is a breath of fresh air in an anti-loop meta. I don't care how weak she is, she feels new and exciting and it makes me want to play more now that there's actual new content for me.

I love trickster.....as the killer. Sometimes you want a game experience as easy as the survivors and he definitely offers that. Hold M1 + M2 and mindlessly run at people while keeping them in the center of the screen. The fact he is a camping god and survivors hate him already makes him potentially the killer who gets the saltiest endgame chats? I think it's him or Bubba. Maybe Phead if you tunnel people hardcore.

  • @lauraa said:

I really hope they don't screw up Legion; even though everybody and their grandma insists they are the worst killer, they somehow have a Legion of fans who find them fun even though more often than not they barely have a killer power. A killer with no power is somehow more popular than Hag, one of the most disgusting killers in the game as well as Artist, who is generally agreed upon to be really good as well.

Aesthetics matter. Gameplay experience matters as well.

Who would wanna go play hag in the days of CoH? I played her alot before but now? Heck no.

Artist? Eh. It's pyramid head with extra steps to me. If I wanna zone and hit people through walls I will just play him.

Plus Artist sound effects are cringey af.

the m1 first was what twins made used to do at the start thats how i played her but i've heard that more people like to go for victor first anyways and if they do take him hostage it isnt super bad either because thats one person that cant work on gens and they often run next to other survivors so it often reveals other survivors locations too

I don't like it. I am OK with using Victor to go injure people around the map once you already have a down. But using him for the first down?

You can be left powerless at the most critical point of the game, which is the start. And if the survivor is really good, you are gonna lose 3 gens for your first down if they choose to hold victor hostage. You are never gonna down anyone fast enough as an M1 killer. It also means that Charlotte has to catch all the back up which also seems like a good way to lose a lot of gens. 30s of her holding W + another 30 seconds to get a down (if you are lucky). That's basically 3 gens done even if you play it perfectly.

Your logic is hilariously flawed, first off nobody cares you used to beat people with the old object, you're not special for doing that. So using this as an opportunity to boast about how you "beat them then and you'll beat them now" is just weird. The facts here are this is an unintended effect of this combination so it needs to be addressed, even if this somehow was never a problem for stealth killers (and it is, try going against good survivors abusing this combo and let me know how that goes) that's still a vast majority of the killers in the game who can't do anything about this. It's straight up delusion to now see the issue here.

You must have missed the part where I said I already played this game. I already had to go against perma wallhacks object on maps with 2x the pallets of the current ones. So now it's back, and they have to be injured the whole time and undetectable is a thing? I'm not worried about it at all. I didn't see a single person try it the whole weekend.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2847563#Comment_2847563

Big thing with Twins is that they're like a game of chess. Not the end of the world if gens go like that as long as they aren't the gens you need to keep. Keep Charlotte usage to a minimum and make Victor do the majority of the lifting.

Yeah the main thing with her is an early down. Kinda like most killers. Then you go lock down whatever 3 gen is near the hook and that's your entire game with Twins imo. The rest of the game is played out in that one area ideally.

I think early you go for the M1 into a Victor down, which means they can't take him hostage. I don't ever open with him.

  • Call of brine, call of brine, call of brine.

If you are gonna be camping a 3 gen with her, my god this perk will be insane. You can kick the gen and park her next to it. I don't play twins but I would be getting that perk for her ASAP if I did.

Way to dodge everything I said. If you can't see why this is a problem its a waste of time trying to talk to you.

It is. Every post on this forum is basically a waste of time. The dev's don't read most of them.

If the killer is in undetectable 90% of the game, then this combo doesn't work. In fact it totally benefits the killer. So when the killer being played the overwhelming majority of the time is an undetectable killer, who cares?

I had to deal with Object being perma wallhacks for years, even against stealth killers. If it's back but they need to be injured and it takes 2 perk slots now, I don't care that much. I beat it back then and ill beat it now if I see it.

You clearly don't understand how undetectable works.

Learning it doesn’t make the map good. Literally played RE2 and the map still sucks ass

What's wrong with it? I love this map. It's big and a pain for gen defense but you know, that's half the friggin maps in DbD so it ain't exactly unique.

Indoor maps are always my favorite. They fit the horror theme alot better, induce claustrophobia, and make the terror radius a neutral element instead of mostly a drawback.

As for RPD....there's barely any strong loops, antiloop killers slay on this map if they close the distance on you. There's.....3 god pallets I think? Maybe 4? And I think 2-3 good window vaults and that's it. So really only like 6-7 elements of real safety on the whole map.

    unnamed.png

This build is such a pleasure to play. One of my favorite in the entire game. Silent portalgorgon is pretty much perfect for the map.

  • The real question here is why she is not going to the basement? She coulda just walked past all those bodyblocks.

  • @lauraa said:

I feel as though his base range is kinda wack considering how much people just hold W. I guess that's the point since hisability is anti loop, but I guess the gameplay it encourages isnt the mostfun for me.

It's not so bad since his addons suck so I always run double range anyways I guess

I mean if you actually close the gap he is ultra threatening. And he is threatening everywhere, no loop is safe.

I would never wanna do double range. Duration + Range is better than double range imo.

Duration + Recharge is also super strong. Recharge is slept on.

Duration + Recharge basically means you can spend 50% of the game dragging the sword through the ground, which is just such insane zoning. Double range can still get juked by some really good survivors but nobody is that safe from the zoning hits.

With duration he can drag the sword for 8 seconds straight or something which is just nuts. It means you torment people trivially since you chase them around the entire loop with the sword in the ground, so they are tormented for even 1 loop attempt instead of leaving the tile, while you are simultaneously threating to nail them at any points.

It's soooo strong and way more consistent to execute than going for long distance M2 hits.

And yet, I didn't bring up player skill to try to discredit you, did I? That's a classic obfuscation tactic. One that isn't going to slip by unnoticed.

The best players in comp have one person dropping pallets instantly and three doing separate gens. The Killer camps the one who got chased, the other three get out.

Stealth is a viable option. Nobody is contending that. What people take issue with is "It's the Survivors fault for being chased."

If we are talking solo Q, which is where the majority of games take place, who's fault is it for getting found first?

Oh, yeah. The survivor's. That's right.

If you are complaining the outcome of a game is 1 person getting camped to death, then ill say you were worse than the 3 other survivors on your team at being stealthy. And solo Q ain't a team game. That's why the hatch exists. It's a team game until people start dying. It's more like a battle royal if the killer is actually good.

While playing i noticed BBQ is really good on her, but i don't use addons because whenever i use them i feel like im wasting, either because the game becomes too easy and survivors die too fast, or because they just rage quit / afk.

Also, relying on consumables is not realistic as u can't count on them for every match.

Survivor fun is not a priority for me lmao. Literally I care as much about survivor fun as I do the fun of the guy I shoot in call of duty for a killstreak. Rage quits are welcome. SBMM should give me opponents who can handle some add-ons correct?

And you can run at least brown addons every game, even without BBQ. With BBQ I run purples / greens almost every game. I don't always get to pick which ones but I usually have them. So considering things addonless just isn't a thing for me.

Oh sorry if it wasnt clear, the entire post considers her base power, no addons and offerings, only perks (any).

Well that's silly, since that is never how things will play out in real games. When you are making ~50k a game with BBQ, how unrealistic is it to be running 15-20k of addons every game? Especially since you said you ran out of stuff to buy at this point.

I share the wealth in my roster. The killers who don't really need addons don't get BP, and I just dump it into the killers that do. And she definitely does.

  • If you assume an equal distribution of hackers among killers/survivors, you are still way less statically likely to run into a hacking killer. There's the 75% chance (since you yourself are not a hacker) you actually benefit from it as a survivor.

  • Funny, I just dodge private profiles and I never play against hackers. Haven't seen one in months.

You find it fun to just hold "W" and press M1 from time to time? Sure i also like to play Trapper, but u know what else he can do? Prevent loops entirely or end chases before they even begin.

I ask u to enlighten me and tell me how to have actual "fun" with her please.

She's got some good jumpscares against solo Q. I would say "fun" with her is gonna be limited to running really strong addons. Sort of like Clown. Basekit is some garbo.

Not for me. I've been getting nothing but bully squads and had to result to camping because of the gen rush. Literally 5 minutes into the game and 3 gens are already done.

That's nuts. At my MMR it would be 2 minutes into the game and 3 gens are done. Count your blessings.

  • Nah doesn't have to be hacks. I have had plenty of games where the hatch spawns right next to me by chance. I've literally had it spawn under my feet before and it's cases like that where i'm happy my profile is public or people would 100% be calling hacks.

I'm pretty sure it's totally random among preselect spawn points. You can actually find it with some powers since it has collision even before it's spawned (or at least it used to).

It’s way easier to dodge one ######### killers though, and loop them at curves and stuff like Billy. And other killers who have add ons it’s a lot harder for them to use. Aiming on clown is hard, and rushing with blight is too. But having basically an insta M1 is what I meant is unfair. If that makes sense?

I guess but I don't have many problems with huntress. I think Pinky Finger is way more powerful at this point. Iri head is practically a meme to me and I think a huntress with 7 instant windup hatchets would be way more threatening.

Dead hard means you could just stay injured all game against it too, and then she is a pure M1 killer at 110% movespeed which is omegalul. You will always have your dead hard up for the 1 hatchet.

This perk is so useless in its current state, you don't get any benefit from using it.

"After injuring a healthy survivor, all injured survivors suffer from the oblivious status effect".

So that means you need to drop a chase after injuring a healthy survivor to try and catch someone who is distracted but there's no reason to do that, even if you manage to catch someone, all the trouble of having to give up the chase and try to find another survivor, you could have easily taken down the survivor you were chasing anyway and even if you commit the chase, you won't have time to use this perk anymore because the time is too short (30s).

This perk also has no effect on killers like Legion and Plague. They are killers who manage to leave survivors injured at all times, you will hardly find someone healthy.

Hysteria is great on Plague. Especially with her wallhacks addon. You splash the tiniest bit of puke on someone and can leave, then 25-30 seconds later they are oblivious and you get your wallhacks on them.

If they stay injured against Plague, that's a big win either way. Also you can 100% force cleanses by camping if they try that. They can't save while injured.

It's also great on engineers fang pinhead, who can injure people from ridiculously far away and through walls.

Beyond those two? Ehhh. Might as well use Hex:Plaything.

  • Dodge the hatchet, that's how you counter Iri head. If she is close enough to just nail you, she could have been any other one shot killer. If she is hitting you at mid distance, you should have juked.

I think more than a few of us have called this "Toxic" right? Well I kinda disagree but also... agree. I don't know. I don't really find this toxic as I have played a fair amount of both sides. Usually from what I've seen when a survivor does either of the two things the killer will probably get frustrated allowing the survivor in the head causing killer to play worse. I've seen this before where a calm collective killer started getting angry making them make mistakes they usually wouldn't have other wise. Now my thoughts to Bming. Honestly I just find this funny. It usually leads to being tunneled which im actually fine with sense the killer is just wasting more time on you rather than protecting gens. What I find toxic, actually toxic is post game chat or dms to a player on console because they did or experienced the things motioned above. Really clicking or t-bagging makes you lose distance and bming on hook waste precious seconds. I know there's more things that I could have motioned as toxic but these are the things I hear about most. Tell me your thoughts and if you agree with what ive said.

I will sum up my thoughts on Tbagging, Flashlight Clicking, and BMing on hook in one word:

    'Lulz'

    I don't even need to make a counter-argument.

Your illogical and ridiculous take is doing it for me.

Sounds like something to say when you know I am right. Being immersed at your gen wastes just as much time as looping and uses no pallets. That's why the best players in the game do it when they are playing for money.

But I can tell you don't play the game at a high enough level to know any of that. That's why you are in here complaining about Bubba lmao.

No, it's ######### not the Survivors fault for being chased LMAO

Yeah, it is. Stealth is a viable option in this game. I don't hand out chases for free as a survivor, even if i'm a strong looper. Give me a reason why I would? Getting found and being in a chase in the first place is a mistake, especially in solo Q. In tournaments the strategy is literally to hide in lockers until the first survivor is caught and starts being chased.
