You down a guy, hook them. Leave, get into chase. When did the survivor get unhooked? IMMEDIATELY after you hooked them, and you just left? You hook someone else, down someone, 1st hooked survivor is unhooked, you come back and you deserve points for “not tunneling” (still tunneling)
you see the problem?
Lol. Why don't you save him when i'm chasing other survivor? Also, he has fully healed, and working on gen, and you're expecting me just to leave him?

And how about the times when you do tunnel? Then what? DS is useless in this situation but oh right, the Survivor "wins" because you chose to hover over their dying body and then grab to hook again. These perks can be rendered useless by not engaging in certain behavior but fine do what you want and pay the price. If someone has allocated 50-75% or even 100% of their perks to help with these moments, good for them. It's always funny to me to see people complaining about a Survivor sided problem solely from the perspective of The Killer. I never run into problems with BT, DS, UB, SG because I don't camp, tunnel, slug, or hover.
If the killer slug and wait for its timer to expire, then he's losing the game. If he leaves and downs another survivor and come back to hook him, it's on your team that didn't help him when the killer's chasing another survivors.

Then if you are massacring the survivors so much that you can pull all that off in 60 seconds, then I doubt a 5 second stun would be much of a problem. Would it? And if the survivors decide to quickly heal under the hook, they are more than likely to be together anyway. Just chase the unhooker in that situation?
And believe me, streamers tunnel too. Rarely, but they do. And even if Otz eats DS in matches because he is so good, then that, like I said before, doesn't change anything, because Otz wins most of his matches anyway.
And I bring up PH, because it's the killer side that is the most unbalanced now. PH should be looked after before any nerfs to DS/UB.
And lastly, I play both sides, and when I play survivor I never use DS/UB. But as I'm playing more and more matches, I can easily see why so many people run it.
The problem is there is no reason for me to get stunned just because i did well. Why should survivors get free escape because i did well?
How do you feel if you loop the killer for one or two minutes, and the moment he hooks you, you immediately go to second stage because of a killer perk? Your team is winning the game, and that should not be a problem?
When you replied like that, you have basically already admit it's not an anti-tunnel perk. So not tunnelling does not counter the perk.

Dead Hard barely works 25%of the time. You typically end up exhausted and on the ground. Its only reliable for getting a few yards in a chase. And after using it once as a killer you literally just bait it and then down them.
SB is better as it gives you more distance and more consistency.
If you use it to dodge attacks, you're using it wrongly.
It's the distance you gain with it.

Survivor queue times are faster than ever.
The game is also the easiest for killer mains it's ever been.
Strange, my survivor queue is around 5 mins... but my killer queue is around 5 secs..
That's why i usually play killer lol.. can't stand that queue time..

Oh really? How often do you hook a person, find another person, chase and hook that person, find the person that has DS still active out of 3 other possible survivors, down the DS person and pick them up, ALL WITHIN 60 SECONDS? Yeah, I figured as much. You're just finding excuses at this point.
Besides, it's ironic - you have a Pyramid Head on your pfp - a killer that currently has no counterplay in a chase. Well, let me tell you - DS has counterplay. Unlike PH.
Trust me, it's more often than you think. It is very much possible. If survivors have medkits and we'll make it, they can literally heal a survivor under hook in few seconds. It's not rare to see them working on a gen nearby, and you proceed to down them because you're better player, and get DS.
I literally eat DS in almost every matches as oni because you can down people fast with your power. So guess what? All pressure you build when you use your power are all gone because of a single "anti-tunnel perk"
If you won't believe me, watch Otzdarva, or some other streamers that literally play this game as a job. They eat DS all days, and they're not tunnelling.
And why do you bring up PH? Do you feel so sad that your DS and UB combo won't work on him?
-
I love this DS bug. I will be more than happy if it becomes a feature.
I hate seeing people running in my face, doing whatever they want just because of single perk.

That is a very good point. Survivors are 100% capable of hiding for the entire duration of early game perks like Corrupt. We saw that multiple times in BoTB. Even perks like Whispers or Spies only go so far. Nobody enjoys a hide and seek simulator.
One of the reason why i don't use corrupt. It's hugely overrated imo.

No one's stopping you from running NOED. Ruin and undying is very (if not too) powerful as well.
And you really should stop parotting Scott Jund so much. It is way too obvious that you watch his videos. These builds are not even a problem if you don't tunnel not to mention DS is bugged on most killers..
... i hook a guy, go away, hook another guy, come back down the healed 1st guy that's working on gen, got DS.
You see the problem? Did i tunnel? Have i done anything wrong that i need to be punished?

Point i'm making though is that once survivors get used to him, hes going to be a solid mid tier. He still gets looped like wraith, billy, freddy etc. The difference is instead of being a little better at loops like freddy, or having a 1 hit down like billy, or having the element of surprise like wraith, he gets to be much better in between loops and with map pressure.
TBH i think he is a solid counter to the gen rushing meta, which is probably why people are complaining about him. You can't just rush gens against him, especially someone running his optimal build of Undying/Ruin/Tinkerer/anything else.
Nurse, spirit, hag and huntress/oni (to an extent) are still the best killers in the game because they can't be looped traditionally. Nurse is just the worst offender because she basically breaks the game with her power. The other 4 at least have some kind of counterplay around them (yes spirit has counterplay)
IMO gen rush still works on blight. The reason why he seems to be able to stop gen rush is because he can utilise ruin undying tinkerer combo the best. High mobility alone is not enough to stop gen rush.
As for nurse, she does have counterplay.. also, good nurse is extremely rare.. I have yet against a nurse that can kill more than 2 people since her nerf..
-
DS UB combo nerf, and some underwhelming perk buffs are all i want
-
Survivors blamed and trashed killers for abusing hill bugs..
Also the same survivor that abuses this hooking bug..
Man..
-
He's unplayable for me because i haven't bought him yet.
Big brain, right? :)
-
@Reinami said:
Terrible comparison.
- He is super low to the ground to the point that on some maps the aura reading is required to even see anything
- He can't go through walls
- He can't turn/flick while using his power
- He sucks at loops (his strength is in between them)
Nurse is better in every single way with the exception of aura reading. But nurse is so good that you just run 4 information perks on her and dominate every game anyway (I'm a nurse main with 1k hours AMA)
Of course for you nurse is better in any way because you have 1k hours on her.
I don't even have 1k hours in this game in total, so playing nurse for me is just instant lose almost every time.
-
So what am i gonna do? Leave him fixing the gens while i chase a guy?
No. I'll definitely hit him, so i can get more pressure. It's a mistake on survivor side, and i'm not hesitate to capitalize on it.
It's simply a better choice no matter how you look at it. You get to chase 2 people off the gens, granting you more time in the game.

Use your eyes? I mean fine make the gens slightly louder. (even though good killers pay attention anyways.) But making it so loud that there's no effort on your part to know if survs are working a gen while you chase near it is just a braindead buff for killers. When I play killer I constantly look back to see if survivors are back on gens (bc they try to get away with it all the time.) I dont need a baby buff to make it effortless for me. Why would full time killer mains need to be babied?
It's also louder even before the graphical update, so killer can actually hear it. Are you saying that every killer uses this information is baby killer?
Like i said, they can change it again, i don't mind. But telling people to rely on eyes only is not helpful. Sounds are crucial in this game, and provide many informations. The reason why devs haven't fixed all sound bugs is beyond my understanding, but this is what we get now.
-
*Cries in corner because no money nor shards*
I would love to play him.. but i still need another 4k shards lol..
-
Remember.. killers have to endure that damn chase music that drowns out all other sounds in every chase.
But i would love them to tone these sounds down

It's not needed. I could hear people working on gens just fine. and the sound doesn't fit. If it's needed so bad then make it a sound only the killer can hear. it's annoying otherwise.
It was extremely quiet before. When you're engaging in a chase near the gen, you can't hear it at all.
I have survivors popping a gen just besides me when i'm chasing other survivors in that area, and i don't even know it's being worked on.
Sure if you play stealth killer, you can hear it. Otherwise, no. So it's actually needed.
But i wouldn't mind if they change it again to suit both sides

Hexy's tounament showcased how bad it is
Killer gets DS'd, survivor gets down in 5 seconds as they cant make any distance, goes down again and dies
i play both sides, it needs to be fixed and trying to defend this is kinda pathetic
Using it as a weapon against killer is also kinda pathetic. But i don't blame the user. I blame the game.
-
But in terms of balance, it's needed.
I legit can't hear people fixing gens just beside me when i'm playing as killer.
-
Anyone with calm spirit. No need to hear that deafening scream every time i hook them.
It's a shame it's so rare..
-
I wish it stays that way. I definitely see less survivors being cocky because they have DS activated.

Exactly why DS needs to be basekit. The timer shouldn't go down in a chase, you should be able to use it EVERY time you get unhooked, and the timer shouldn't go down in a chase as well. However, DS should deactivate if you touch a gen, fully heal, or when someone else is hooked.
That wouldn't work. Without timer, survivors will abuse it by forcing killer to chase them. You only need to run in front of killer to initiate chase, so some people can literally have unlimited invincibility. Pair with UB it'll be extremely broken.
-
It's rare to see people using UB alone..
If it's DS + UB, that's another story.. i see them in almost every matches
-
Well, at least killer benefits from it if survivors choose to do so.
-
"We're not done nerfing him yet" is what they meant probably
Remember they say clown is underrated. They probably think he's most op killer in this game, and needs nurse treatment lol

It goes to show that a lot of killers are overrated. PyramidHead got wrecked mostly, "but but OP!!1" yeah right.
Spirit also isn't the unstoppable force some people make her out to be. Performance overrall was underwhelming. Sure she was limited to brown add ons due to a sound bug on her footsteps but survivors had perk and add on resrictions too.
Nurse is still by far the strongest killer in the game....in the right hands. Some people will try to convince you that she's now bottom tier lol
Funny to see the DS + Deliverance combo grant free escapes. In fact most of the "no counterplay" was on the survivor side, but it's ok because only killers should have counterplay.
Survivors did seem like the powerrole against anyone but Nurse but then you remember this is 4 people on comms.
swf -> killer -> solo
Thats how everyone assumes the balance is and it seems to be correct.
I really hope they buff solos to SWF level, and then buff killers. Not in the way of perks, but in the way of game mechanics.
Otherwise this game will never be balanced. SWF still dominates, and solos still suffers.
-
I have been asking this for a long time whether it's intended or bug.. but no one seem to care about it
It makes killer hard to know if survivors are looking back or not, which is important in mindgames.

Like nothing related to sound at all?
I think it would be the best option. Sound is quite crucial in this game, and iron will eliminates it with no downside is just too much imo. As you said, it's not only used to against spirit, but other killer as well. It basically negates the downside of being injured besides blood, which can be hard to see sometimes.
On the other hand, stridor is almost completely useless except on spirit. Both of them needs to be worked on.

I see your issues with Stridor and Iron Will.
How exactly would you go about fixing them though?
Iron Will is also meta good against all killers at least (it's in the top 5 most ran perks and that would be the case even if Spirit didn't exist). Meanwhile Stridor is garbage on anyone but Spirit. I'd like if Stridor was similarly useful to more killers as well.
Change them to complete different perks

That's why I think a good change would be:
While phasing Spirits footsteps are significantly louder. She will in turn have the speed of her phasing increased and its cooldown reduced.
This does 2 things.
Now she has more skilled counter play, as the survivors can hear her direction and location.
However to compensate for a weaker 1v1, she now has improved map pressure and mobility.
I would actually suggest changes to both iron will and stridor, and change how painful sound works on spirit, like quieter.
Plus the thing you suggest, she's good to go actually..
Otherwise playing her is like stridor is required, and playing against her, iron will is required.
-
I think this perk is extremely overrated
First, it does almost nothing itself besides aura. It needs to be paired with another hex to work.
Second, it can be cleansed. It's a normal hex, so it can be cleansed before it even does its works. It can be cleansed before your other hex, making you waste a perk slot for nothing
Third, it requires dull totem to revive the other hex.
Fourth, you're sacrificing a perk slot, hoping your other hex gets cleansed before itself to get its value.
Fifth, it does not work on hex with tokens.
With these many downsides, it's actually just a mediocre perk, not strong, and not weak.
-
@Blueberry said:
I find it crazy the amount of people that complain about Spirit and then show they have no idea how she actually even works. Like recommending you follow the blood..without even realizing she can't do that without running an ultra-rare addon. They think that's in her base kit...
I think it just shows how they haven't actually played Spirit at any decent level to have a balanced opinion.
Anyway, for your question OP, you don't...
For how much people complain about Stridor countering Iron Will, if she didn't run it she is left completely guessing their movement.
That's what i feel like. Spirit without stridor against iron will is the same as survivors without iron will against spirit with stridor
I think both of them needs to be changed.

I've heard puppers recommend that, too. Stopping it halfway to catch someone trying to double back.
Scratch marks are delayed, so there're actually no telling when survivors will be double back.
So it's actually guessing at this point. You guess if they double back or not. It's 50 / 50

But to repeat it - you get mad for people "mashing that control button".
I can almost guarantee that they button smash control button with the intention of making people mad. There is no other significant reason other than this.
So, you're actually blaming the victim here. If you don't want to symphatize, then just keep quiet. No reason to make the victim even more miserable.

I feel like they actually did take feedback from the PTB. They buffed his addons, fixed collision, and increased his turning speed. I see a lot of people doing well with him when they use his power correctly.
PTB was a week old version of what they had at that time.
These changes from PTB to live are already done even before us testing the PTB. This live version of killer should be what we test during PTB.

Fair enough. You were there; I was not. I know that the line between trying to fulfill a role for the team and simply aggravate someone is not a simple one. It is just something you "know" is happening when it happens. That is why I asked for clarification. I don't mind the clickers too much, particularly if I'm chasing someone else. It tells me I've tied up two Survivors with one chase. I'd rather know where they are than not, so them doing the silly is kind of helpful and doesn't get under my skin.
I had a great Survivor taunt me once with the pointing animation. He was in the gateway (door already opened). Both gates were VERY close and he was trying to keep me there so his buddies at the other door (it wasn't open) could get out. I respected the move. What he didn't know was I had the Tombstone Piece and fully powered up. I crossed the distance in a heartbeat and as he turned to get knocked out and crawl into escape (he assumed he would be insta-downed bout out of my grab range), I picked him up and did the Myer's Mori for folks on the run.
He took it in good humor just as I took his taunts in good humor. I knew what he was trying to do (there was a reason) so I wasn't offended either.
I actually support survivors to stand and face the exit to make the killer hit you and force you out. That way, at least you waste his time, and can confirm if he has NOED or not.
I support their moves if their motive is to win the game. There's nothing to wrong with a person trying to win. But i really don't think that's the intention of that laurie.
