Almost everybody I've seen has been praising the Spirit bug as good for the game and allowing skillful mindgames/counterplay for both sides. Very sad they're fixing this as the only change I think it needed was allowing Spirit to know when she made the noises.

Back to having an absolute miserable time against her I guess...

Imo that bug is not that good because spirit herself has no idea when she'll be breathing when in phasing, so she can't time it and mindgame survivors with it.

I'm fine with making her husk showing she's phasing, but directional audible sound from her makes survivor too easy to counter her as she still can't see you. That's like OoO users being chase by ghostface in shroud, but in reverse.

Also, it removes the point of her power, the unpredictability. You can't switch target to someone on gens in your terror radius midchase because they know exactly if you're coming for them or not.

  • It's completely fair, and has complete counterplay. If anything, it's underpower and requires a buff.. or rework.

  • Because not everyone knows how his power works in detail. Majority of the people play him because he's iconic horror character, and just want to have fun.

The power description itself doesn't tell you that they disappear if around hook or gen, so it's understandable. I wish devs do better jobs at these kind of things.

Basically: Survivors are ######### bored, and going in as a 3 or 4 man flashlight squad with everyone using green haired Nea running at the killer is fun. Gen rushing and playing optimally is not (I think this is something killers complain about, no? And now I see complaints that survivors mess around in front of the killer and don't want to afk on the objective. Are you for real?)

Both of them are problems. I don't blame survivors, however, i blame devs.

Gen rush is annoying because as killer, you can lose the game despite winning every chase. This is just balance issues.

SWF group that just want to bully the hell out of the killer is also very annoying. Also there are perks that encourage these plays without being punished like DS and BT. Again i'm blaming devs for this.

  • I can outplay survivors in every chase in a match, and still lose the game because of how quick gens go if i don't use any slowdown perks.

So.. no. Outplaying survivors alone doesn't make you win the game. And losing the game despite winning against every survivors in chase is very frustrating

  • It's the same as group of SWF going out aggressively towards the killer just to make fun of him, and don't care if they die. And killers can't be mad at them because they did nothing wrong and just "have fun with the game".

Obviously both of them are bad, so i'm just saying that both sides have these players..

  • What is this event lol?

  • I'm pretty good with M1 killer, as I usually play them. So I usually do well with pig because she has the best slowdown among all killers...if rng favours you.

But against experienced survivors, she's quite underwhelming as her secondary power (crouch & ambush) is too weak IMO

  • This is because the game is poorly designed. Imagine 2 survivors left have less chance of survive than 1 left. This is where the game is now because of EGC.

I personally hate to be in this situation as killer. You worked so hard to win the game, and survivors decide to borderline indefinitely extend the game, wasting each other's time. I personally would afk if I see this.

  • OoO should never exist in this game, because it's literally BROKEN when used in SWF. But apparently Devs think this is fine..

Also, to hell with their statistics. The reason why OoO users have low survival rate is because killer tunnel down them or just straight up facecamp.

I dont blame them at all playing against legion is super boring and match takes Forever to finish couse of mending

No one should disconnect just because they don't like certain killers.

Good sportsmanship and fair play always deserve appreciation. Thanks ^^

Too bad there are always people who ruin this by saying ggez

  • It really angers me while reading the commend. How can you all not see the problem when someone is angry even winning the game?

In PVP game, people should NOT ever have chance to reset the game when you play so badly! If you somehow comeback with skill, it's absolutely fine. However, if they make a comeback because of one single thing in the game, then it's broken.

In this situation, how much mistakes survivors need to make in order to be in 3 hook basement situation? Should these survivors even deserve to have second chance?

Sure he won the game, but this is only one game. There are many more games that survivors truly make a comeback because of 1 single perk design. Got 4 slugged because of massive bad play? One unbreakable and the game is reset. Why should these survivors that make bad plays to be even rewarded with a chance to reset your massive mistakes you did and everything the killer takes advantage of?

What if there is a killer perk that unpowers 3 gens after all gens are done, and he only got one hook in total? Does he deserve this chance at all? Yeah you guys still 4 escape, and are you happy with it?

  • If the users are smart, there is literally no counter to it. However, the same can be said to every exhaustion perks.

As killer, you cannot really counter exhaustion perks unless you're top tier killer, but they still extends the chase and requires no effort from the user, with dead hard as the most skillful one among all the exhaustion perks. You cannot prevent the perks from activating.

Also, DH is free outplay when used against nurse and blight. You can't really bait it out as you don't always have another blink/rush available.

I personally think exhaustion should have some sort of debuff, not just a form of cooldown for a collection of perks. For example, slower running speed, slower gen repair, etc..

The amount of killers who have let me go even if I had a good game as survivor is countless.

The amount of survivors who let me kill them after having a bad game as killer is... 3.

Those 3 are probably trying to derank or smurfing lol..

    Just a joke :)

I would agree though I feel his add on's rarities should be shifted around a bit, the pallet break one was great before they made a similar thing basekit, now its still good but not worthy of an ultra rare in my opinion, then again, Deathslinger and Demogorgons ultra rares are even worse so what do I know

Don't forget nurse's ultra-rare add-ons that all they do is nerf her even more.

  • If it's gonna get nerf anyway, then i would play it every game because.. why the hell not?

I personally don't think it needs nerf. A single map can destroy this build in first 2 or 3 mins, leaving the killer with 2 perks.

And i think this combo is healthy for the game. It encourages killer NOT to camp and tunnel, which is what survivors want too.

  • It's worthless. It literally buffs survivor with the healing speed. There is no upside to this perk.

If you're in bad position where you lose 2 gens for 1 hook, it doesn't help you. By the time you got decent tokens, gens are done, so the debuff does nothing.

If you're in good position, you won't even need this perk because you're winning. The perk does nothing to make you in this winning position.

Not to mention obsession is not under its effect, and hooking him does not grand totem, and he has healing buff. Pop has similar requirements to use, and it's 1000 times better than DL.

Ds i can understand But why did you dont like BT its 5 seconds of protection

And no always had camping the camping dont occurs because of survival their occurs just becuase the killer is bad

It is definitely not 5 secs.

  • In terms of power, freddy wins by a lot. He has everything a killer need, but doesn't excel in any. He's jack of all trade killer.

But personally i like dream pallet over snares because it's more fun.

  • There is nothing wrong with facecamping, even if you do it to any survivors. It's a strategy, but can backfire heavily if survivors know how to counter it.

  • The fact he can T-bag survivors back is worth enough for the price :)

But honestly, he's quite fun. You can get a lot of jumpscares with him, but you need cooldown reduction add-ons.

Otherwise, use STBFL on him to compensate that long cooldown.

  • Some rocks in swamp map has no collision at all. I aim directly at the center of the rock twice, no collision.

  • It is a strategy if it helps you win the game.

So, tunnelling is, technically, a strategy.

I think option 3 is pretty obvious. Extremely doubtful they'll even acknowledge concerns over the quote given how bad it makes them look, let alone act on it. Though I also very much doubt there will be some great exodus of killers leaving the game. It never pans out that way.

Usually if a killer wants to leave the game, they won't post it in discussion, they simply just leave quietly.

So how do you know killers are leaving? The queue time. If the killer queue time is instant, and survivor's queue time is like ages, then obviously number of killer has dropped.

There was a time like that if i'm not wrong.

  • After seeing the devs's response, I'm glad that i opened this discussion lol...

I never expect devs to dig their own grave by saying that, and expecting people not to feel the same about DS, which is even more suitable for that statement.

  • @OllieHellhunter said:

Did you just make the same thread a 2nd time?

Sorry ignore this post. Forum screws me over.

  • @SkeletalElite said:

Because the devs want you to make a choice between regressing a generator and committing to chases. 45 seconds it still enough time to reach any generator on the map, even as huntress on mother's dwelling.

When killer proceed to chase survivors instead of popping gens, he's already made a choice with risks. He is betting that he can down that particular survivors within the time limit. For me this is already balanced risk reward.

But with this nerf, there is no choice. You either use your pop, and give survivors distance, or you commit to chase and waste your pop. Either way, you are losing something.

  • They don't know how to handle sounds in this game. The game tells you to listen to survivor's sound, and then there's a blasting chase music that is designed to muffle these sounds..

Not to mention they always mess up sounds with bugs every patch..

  • I thought ds and ub combo will sure be changed in mid chapter.. but well, a perk that is completely balanced and nobody complains gets nerfed (pop)

Yeah I've tried going AFK but that hasn't worked for me very often. Oops I mean uh...it hasn't worked for my "friend" very often. I'll let him know about not hooking and just farming. Thanks for the tip ;)

    You're welcome my friend

What's the best way to derank? I'm asking for a "friend"

Just farming around, and don't hook survivors. Usually you'll depip without hooks.

Or, you can afk to some degree..

  • He should have better movement when using his power. Right now that is very annoying, and you can't really mindgame with it since your camera turns so slow, and the onset of projectile is slow, and the travelling of projectile is slow.

He needs these to be fixed for his range attack to be viable outside animation lock

  • Only one problem. You don't have full control over your movement when you're trying to use it. This makes it very easy to dodge, and you can't mindgame as much with it.

  • Not in red rank.

Recently i deranked to green rank, and i feel the game is much more enjoyable. I'm not really smurfing as i'm just chilling around with some meme builds or try some weaker killer.

  • Did they enable the 60 ticks and server hit validation? I thought they were only testing it.

And.. she still has some game breaking bugs that must be fixed before she becomes playable for me. Lose 2nd blink for no reason, shorter blink, dead zones in midwich..

  • @BigTimeGamer said:

if you get <3k as spirit i have serious questions as to how it happened, she really isnt that hard to play lol

If your team gets at least 3k by spirit every game, something's wrong with you probably. Why your team always got 3k when you're in it?

  • Time to try some meme builds hehe.. like third seal, knock out, undying and bbq :)

Dbd takes 40GB on my system. Which is way too much for a game with such simple graphics, map sizes, and mechanics.

Much more complicated games like Arma3 with better animations, better graphics, better and more models, gigantic 300 square kilometres large maps actually take LESS space than Dead by Daylight does. Thats just unacceptable.

I'm surprised people actually think DBD deserves 60GB size.

Modern games are usually that size, but most of them are huge open world game with countless characters and objects in the game.

So yeah, i definitely agree with you. Such a simple game shouldn't be that large.

  • They ran out of ideas for its add-ons. Kind of like nurse, which has so many useless add-ons that nerfs her, including both ultra rare add-ons

  • That's the problem with survivor meta perks.

1 second chance perk alone is not a problem. 4 survivors bringing 4 second chance perks is a huge problem. Some perks don't even need to be used to have its effect (DS and BT, killers always have to assume everyone has it)

  • Sounds like they just want to play hold m1 simulator lol

  • @Slashstreetboy said:

Survivors who do that just want excuses for their loss. It´s kinda like Killers who blame everything on Maps and SWF, same thing.

This is something that plagues dbd pretty badly. No one wants to admit when they messed up or didn´t play as well as they could have.

Don´t let it get to ya, they would have said it regardless of what you did.

Sometimes map and SWF does screw you over more than you think.

Playing as nurse, and you get hawkins? Probably should DC immediately. (Just a joke about DC)

Playing as myers or clown against SWF with OoO in midwich? There's little you can do besides doing the best you can, and hope they mess up so badly.

I don't really complain, but some rng in this game can really have a huge impact.

  • Both of them are quite fun actually.

If you hate sneaky survivors like blendette, then doctor obviously.

If you want to down a survivor, and then go across the map instantly to chase another one, blight is for you.

Perk-wise, if you have good hex perks like ruin, blight is better choice for undying. If not, doctor because he has monitor, an universal perk that never goes wrong.

  • I also don't use mori at all if it wasn't for the challenge. Even with challenge, i use it on death hook.

You can thank me too :)

  • Stalking from afar shouldn't have decreased rate. Ghostface doesn't suffer from this, so why should myers?

And i agree he needs a buff desperately. If i'm not wrong, he's the most outdated killer currently

  • I think the reason why people camp with her crouch is because of how inefficient it is in any other situations. The movement speed is so painfully low, and the ambush gives a huge warning roar lol..

I don't use these tactics, but i think that'll be the reason.

  • Trail of torment.

I love seeing people getting jumpscared lol... i just wish it doesn't show that yellow gen aura to survivors..

  • @azame said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1629286#Comment_1629286

Yeah not tunneling wont counter the perk you gotta just "play differently" like a few killer mains told me when I ask what countess spirit have lol. "You just want to bully killers and not change your playstyle."

That's why people say it's not an anti-tunnel perk, but an anti-momentum perk.

Sure, you can play around it, but this kind of perk should not exist in this game. There's literally no reason to punishes a player that did well.

I don't mind if they actually add an anti-tunnel mechanics in the base game, if that system can truly differentiate the difference between "tunnelling" or "just doing well"

1 … 13 14 15 16 17 … 41
