This only happens for the first time you face a Killer.
I'm pretty sure it also happens if you don't have many games overall. Either way the more he plays the less he'll see of these messages.

@Nicholas said:
This will likely always be an issue in the game. Hit validation hopefully coming very soon will resolve dome extreme cases but ultimately the game favors what the killer sees. My favorite is when you have fast vaulted and have Lithe, and then your exhausted body teleports back to the window to get grabbed.
Grabs have been server side for ages, if you're disliking that then you probably won't enjoy the hit validation much more.

I mean you're kinda ######### over the other 4 people in that game, do whatever ya want but dont be surprised if people think you're a #########.

Based on the title of this thread, I assume that means I should do it every single game I ever win? Because 100% of the time the survivors win, they wait to teabag at the exit gates.
I wouldn't for the same reason I dont go out of my way to give hatch a lot of the time, just cant be arsed looking for the thing. Then again I also dont tbag on the survivor side so maybe I'm the odd one out.

It did on the ptb, not been able to try it on live

Ok, here are some basic counters to things people find anoying or uncounterable, hope this helps someone.
Perks:
- NOED: Do totems, help yourself with Small Game if you're having that much trouble with this perk, if it pops, just leave, don't play hero unless you don't care if you die in the process (I play hero all the time, hehehe)
- PGTW: Repressed Alliance, you can't repair the gen for 30 seconds but the killer can't kick it either and get the progress down.
Killers:
- Spirit: Fixated, as soon as she phases walk TOWARDS her, she'll lose you 9/10 times.
- Freddy: Fixated, if he teleports to your gen, Fixate into cover, don't run
- Trapper: Small Game (hope it gets a buff to see auras of abjects detected someday) can help you detect traps
- Bubba: Keep running, they have the "mental glitch" of starting the chainsaw close to a pallet cause they know you're dropping it (I'll share a vid of how to do so as a comment)
- Legion: Learn to 360, when in sprint, cause of his speed, it's easier to dodge
- Huntress: Crouch when she throws the Axe, it works more if there's a structure between you both. Don't run in a straight line.
- Plague: CLEANSE, if she grabs corrupt HIDE, those are long but easy games if you do this
- Myers: There's no counter, you're doomed (nah, he's my nemesis, I always die to him, I can't give advice against him). Spine Chill maybe? I say "maybe" cause once he changes tiers it's practically a wasted perk
- Ghost Face: Spine Chill
- Pig: Spine Chill
- Billie: He's dead now, but I'd say SPLIT, don't let him get multiple downs by staying close to each other
- Pyramid Head: Crouch, if you crouch through his marks it doesn't affect you. NEVER run in a straight line.
Share any tip you'd like others to know, lets help each other.
I've had people complain about people suggesting running spine chill to help them against certain killers because they dont want to run perks that help them in a chase, so while I do think most the advice you give is good, some people won't take it for one reason or another.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Now, someone help me counter a Pyramid Head or Deathslinger in the chase. "Run Spine Chill and hide" or "hope they're bad" are not really the options I'm looking for.
Breaking line of sight, gaining distance and placing objects/terrain between you are the best for Deathslinger I find, running spine chill helps you be more alert but I dont run it all to often myself and still tend to do quite well.
I've not played against or as Pyramid Head much so I cant give as much advice on that front.

There should always be complaints. How will the game improve without complaints? How will the devs know something's wrong without complaints?
Just because things are getting better people should stop complaining? How stupid is that? It's like telling someone who's making $2 an hour to stop complaining because they're making $2.10 now.
Also you can't buy licensed characters with shards.
But you can buy their perks with them

Really? I thought they had changed it already.

They implemented mmr it didnt work well due to not having gathered much data, so they disabled it again, its probably coming back but for now it's back to rank based.

I only feel like the dev's are doing it because they do a pretty abysmal job at explaining how to play the game it kind of reminds me of tf2's learning curve where the tutorials only get you so far but it fails to even bring up any advanced techniques I feel like they should do what battlefield do where on the main menu they link community videos or what SMITE does where it gives you a complete glossary of all and any technical terms
As a fellow tf2 player, I always loved the fact they only went over the basics and only for some of the classes.

I'm just pointing out how other people view this personally I don't really think it makes sense because there are ways around it all it takes is patience and you have all the perks in the game.
Fair, I mean I was also just pointing out that I've seen a lot more people saying the more beginner focused perks should be base game than I have the argument OP mentions.

@megaweenieman said:
I'm not sure if its just poor luck but I have gone through almost 50 webs on Freddy and cannot get a single red paint brush add on. Anyone ever experience this on any of their characters?
Yeah on my deathslinger through the entire 2nd level of prestige not a single hellshire iron popped up, not an add on I would really use, but it was notable. Guess its just luck.

I saw this one guy complain saying that survivors are way more op than killer because the majority of good killer perks are locked behind paywalls whereas all good survivor perks are base game.
Okay, is one guys opinion reason enough to make a whole new discussion about though? I'm pretty sure I know the discussion you're referring to and if I'm right myself and others said in the comments when it comes to comparing perks power you should look at it from the maximum possible to achieve instead of what perks you start off with.
-
Really? The main complaints I've seen about perks having to be paid for are the ones that help beginners out, such as Zanshin, Windows, Visionary, etc. And to be honest it's kinda justified imo atleast.

Rank isn't used in matchmaking anymore. The current system isn't anything to brag about either, but rank isn't relevant with matchmaking anymore.
Perhaps take a break? I find that the game loses its enjoyability when I play it too much.
I wish there were way more asymmetrical horror games out there, but some time away has brought back that 'magic' of playing this game after a while.
Actually it is still rank based matchmaking, for now atleast
-
Diversion, Red Herring,Inner any 2 other perks usually inner strength and detectives hunch
Also distressing, m&a, dark devotion, tinkerer on doctor with double calm add ons.
I just now realised my meme type builds rely on messing with the other sides information more than anything.

Wait are there stats from this year? Would you mind linking me?
I can't believe I missed stats!
No the latest ones were from November, I meant earlier in 2019, sorry for the confusion
-
@Kilmeran @SenzuDuck I decided to go back and look, the stats from around November apparently excluded games with DC's whereas the stats from earlier in that year counted them, so turns out you're both right.
Edit for clarification.
-
Unbreakable, Flip Flop, Tenacity, Head On Jeff. Head on only because people tend to assume slug me more whenever I run it, I assume from fear of DS.
-
I've not played as him except on the PTB, and have rarely played against him, so I don't really know if I consider him fun to go against as I just havent gone against many.
-
In the order of Julie, Frank, Joey, Susie is how I'd rate em.

Okay for your convenience, let's assume that he goes out in minute and 25 seconds, the second teammate gives said hooked person BT and even takes a hit for him but the killer KNOWS that now he can take the hooked person out of the match. The only thing that happened here is that it worked in the killer's favour since only 2 people are working on gens now. Add in the fact that it is the first few minutes of the game and people are not completely sure yet whether the offering was indeed a mori or not and what the killer is intending to do since as I mentioned it's still the beginning of the match.
Oh and btw, in solo que you will see plenty of teammates who get downed pretty quickly. Maybe it's a new concept for you but it's more common than you think in red and purple ranks.
This still dosent invalidate the fact that the survivor only played the match for an extremely low amount of time compared just because the killer wanted to 'have fun' or 'enjoy the view'
Couldn't the second teammate wait till the killer was further to go for the unhook? Giving more time for gens to be done and possibly working on one themselves while also increasing the chance the unhooked will get away further.
Also you've switched from them being out of the game in 40 seconds to the 1st chase being 85 seconds.
Yes I play solo queue and yes plenty can go down quickly but when i see 1st hook moris it usually happens when one of my teammates follows the killer to the hook and immediately unhooks.
When did I say it invalidated anything, I was wondering how terrible someone must have to be to be downed twice in 40 seconds.
Also I cant speak for anyone else but the only time I use a mori as killer is for daily rituals, not to have fun or enjoy the view as you put it.
And all this considered how does that put the other survivors at more of a disadvantage than the instant DC that the OP mentions, in this case the ones that DC play even less and put their teammates at more of a disadvantage.

@fordragos said:

Lol I love how all the killers have their heads up their own behinds about mori and think it's even remotely comparable to keys.
Mori instantly put survivors at a severe disadvantage within the first minute of the match by taking out one out of 4 survivors. Theres literally no effort needed here on killer's part AT ALL.
Key at least needs a little more effort, first survivors have to do gens then maybe one or two of them have to die depending on gens remaining for hatch to appear in the first place. Then finding the hatch takes time too. Killer even tunnels the survivor with the key and killers are basically playing the match from START till FINISH compared to taking out one out of 4 players who only got to play the match for 40 seconds and causing the other 3 to be at a severe disadvantage by reducing their chances of escaping by 75%.
Seriously, I mean I'm a solo que survivor and as killer I've only seen few SWFs coordinate for the hatch and even then I did enough hooks, hits and chases for me to get a pip AND get a good amount of points. The Survivor who gets mori gets a depip because theres no way to outplay a mori unless you're an swf and even then it's difficult. Guess what? The system thinks you're a garbage survivor player because you couldnt outplay the mori and do enough to help the team AND you got only 3k bloodpoints for breathing......
In conclusion, killer mains that compare mori to keys are absolutely shameless.
Okay I just want to know how bad someones got to be to be downed, hooked, unhooked and downed again in the space of 40 seconds as you claim.
-
I'd suggest playing a couple games with them all since you've got them all, and based off that find which you enjoy most.

I dislike playing against the meta, hence why I just play stuff I find fun. The closest I usually get to meta is running lullaby on doc the odd time, and Unbreakable in my build dedicated to being and getting slugged.

No most I've seen either DC on the loading screen or after being downed

I'm only level 16 but I was running hex retribution enduring brutal strength and spies from the shadows
Decent, enduring and brutal reduce his weakness to pallets, Spies depending on the map is a great tracking perk, and retribution is good even if people tend to expect it in him.
-
What build have ya been running on him?
-
@Angelicus23 said:
Reminder that this build is completely counterable by hoking everyone once early, also this build just works at the endgame and the survivor isn't favoured during the first 5 gens and no perks are going to help them repairing or getting chased.
Yes part of the build is countered if everyone is hooked once early, and Deathslinger's power only helps him in a chase, he has low movement speed and lacks any map pressure, and is completed counterable by stealth and spreading out on gens, as well as putting terrain between you, making distance and blocking line of sight in chase, yet people still say he has no counterplay.
-
Cause I'll run the perks I enjoy running instead, sometimes theres overlap with meta, I.e. Unbreakable in my build with tenacity and flip flop, other times there won't be.

Nurse wasnt nerfed because God Nurses, she was nerfed because Omega 5-blink Nurses, which were very common and not that hard to play since you had 5 tries at hitting the Survivor also she had an even better proxy camping potential than Demogorgon.
So they nerfed her basekit solely because of add-on combinations?

Eh I just wish I got to play against him more, cause it's rare I see him, and nearly every time I do it's with a mori. Just my luck I guess.

Smh dont nerf Quentins face, the intimidation factor is the only edge hes got on the other killers.
-
When it comes to maps, I would say most of the autohaven maps are fine, otherwise I agree, also when it comes to perks I'd also suggest just looking at the strength of the best perks for both sides, sure some you have to wait to be in shrine or pay for, but the highest potential should be looked at.

You just need to keep practicing at them. They are honestly too easy imo if anything and that build is actually quite weak.
Honestly agree, most the times I mess up with that build it's when I expect its gonna be a backwards skill check and it ends up being a regular one, therefore my own mistakes.

Counter strike has always been a competitive game, as well as LOL, and DOTA what are you on about? Dead by Daylight is not a competitive E-Sport game, and it never will be. An equal playing field is required for both sides, not luck, or RNG.
They've always been competitive yes, however dbd is also competitive, hell even fall guys is competitive. Being competitive does not equal esports, those games were not designed to be esports they were designed to be enjoyable games and the esports came later. That's what I'm on about.
When did I claim Dead by daylight was an esport or I even wanted it to be?
Also luck and Rng should be minimal in esports yes however it still exists, take the current season of League of legends for example, its rng which dragon type will affect the map, which can benefit or hinder some team compositions.

your horror fan so I'm am but bring up Halloween remake that was crappiest remake I every seen rob zombie really messed that up but I also never liked any of his horror movies with tho 3 characters in it.
no remake have been as good as the original.
I would disagree about no remake being as good as the original, I would say John Carpenter's The Thing is much better than the 1951 original.

while i dont think dbd can ever be a good tourmaent due to the rng nature of the game i take issue how people are dismissing the 1% and saying we cant balance the game around the 1% in fact you can alot of games are balanced around the top players and the 1% because the top players shows more of the balancing issue then anyone else.
take overwatch for example and the introduction to Brigg she literially changed the meta to the the infamous GOAT meta ( 3 tanks and 3 support) before they had to nerf her and introduced the 222 system to try and balance the game so DPS can be used. Also at the current moment they are in the process of balancing Moria as she is heading to the same way as brig was. If it wasnt for the top players players who know how to fully utlise their powers we would never see any balance changes as mid or lower level players wouldnt showcase the balancing issue that those characters cause.
That is how in my opipion balancing should be done balance the top so it trickles down to the bottom then you get a even playing field not balance it around mid level play that goes for any pvp game regardless of competitve or not if it has a ranking system/ mmr, i strongly believe you balance the top end so it trickles down to the bottom to create a fair field for both sides
Pretty much and with some games that mainly balance around high level play, but then make exceptions i.e. Riot games buffing Irelia who was over performing at high level play but not seen much in low level play, it causes malcontent among a large amount if the player base. Which is why I'm so surprised people are so apprehensive to balancing in that way here.
