Wait no terror radius before he hits you? Have you got any footage as I've not been able to play the past few days.
-
It would be good, but I doubt theyd ever implement it.

hemorrhage is great for someone like me who’s mains as Spirit. She’s blind when using her power and i solely rely on sounds and my surroundings when phasing, therefore hemorrhage, bloodhound, those work wonders for me!!
I thought spirit couldn't see blood while phasing? I've never played as her tbf but playing against her none have ever really seemed to notice my blood pools

People confuse competitive with e-sports all the time for some reason. DBD is a competitive game because players compete against eachother to win. That does not by any means mean its an e-sports/ready designed game. Blows my mind that people still confuse the two.
Mario Party is another competitive game. See the distincition?
I mean I've been told league of legends isnt competitive before, some people are just odd.

Actual advantages? There's some pretty blendy cosmetics, most of the female survivors are harder to hear, Ace has built-in IW.
But mostly the blending is limited to Claudette and Adam. Most of the other characters have some disadvantage here or there in their skins that make them not blendy. For example: Kate has dark hair and a dark sweater, but her pants are pretty visible and she has other disadvantages.
Jeff you can blend with given that you know the direction the killers coming from, however hes also load as ######### when injured, so it's a give and take.

I dont have alert so I did this but with dark sense, and man was it like information overload.

After the implementation of cp the killer ques have always been instant for me when cp is off. Survivor ques stayed the same mostly, maybe a bit quicker before 10PM. After 10PM when the survivor ques get too long I might play few survivor matches with cp on but those matches usually ain't very fun and there's a lot of stutter and lag.
Yeah it seems to cause some matchwide lag if a ton of people are from different systems for each other
-
If you like getting slugged and trying to turn that in your favour I'd suggest Unbreakable,Tenacity,Flip Flop and a perk that makes the killer more likely to slug you, I find head on works well for this but results may vary.

Yeah. I play on ps4 EU so I'm at Frankfurt and London servers and I play crossplay off so that probably affects the experience.
On PC there seems to be more variation in survivors. I'd play cp on if the console was optimized properly.
I play on PC also EU, not sure what servers exactly but I've been getting a lot of my fellow irishmen, some brits, some French and some Norwegians mostly. I play with cross play on just because either it off queue times on both ends increases drastically.
-
@Stinde said:
I play killer until I start getting only 3/4-man SWFs, then I switch to survivor. After 10PM when ques get too long to play survivor I close the game and play something else.
Huh so kinda the inverse of me then

Often times I'll boot up dbd looking to have fun, think "Hey survivors fun right?" and then get tunneled 3 games in a row, have megs and yuis and claudette that somehow manage to drop Shack pallet, die in 3 seconds, and do nothing, whilst I loop a killer for a minute on an l-t wall alone, do 3 gens, 4 totems, save people, and then I go cry for a bit. Boot it back up, load into Nurse or Freddy, and actually have some fun.
The only reason I'm a killer main is because survivor is hell to play, ngl.
Really? it usually takes like 5 or 6 games for me as survivor before I get a ######### game, maybe I'm just lucky.

After 50th level there will be 4 perks you can choose in this case - 3 teachables and 1 random one. As you can see - not upgrading teachables dramatically lowers your chances of getting perks I want to have.
I mean yeah, kinda the reason I got all the teachables for deathslinger despite none of them really fitting my playstyle except hex:retribution, I just wanted more choice when it came to perks.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
Just don't get those perks in his bloodweb then and you're good to go. You said yourself you don't like them so not being able to unlock them further shouldn't be an issue for you either.
I'm pretty sure they'll keep coming up in the bloodweb until you get them, therefore stopping other perks taking the place, I'm not sure though as the longest I delayed getting one is only 3 bloodwebs.
-
@MadLordJack said:
No, I just play both as equally as I can because I don't want to become another generic main that doesnt really know the struggles of the other side.
Doing it this way has led to me playing fairly evenly, with a slight bit more of killer, if I were to guess I'd say a 60/40 split.
-
I've no clue, but hopefully it means I'll get addons I want rather than having a ton of offerings I dont care for being on my bloodwebs. Maybe I can stock up on calm and order addons for my doc and reload addons for slinger

Its pretty much the exact thing i was going for. the more hits you get (and swf like to take hits and be left alone) the more powerful you get
and getting tokens is hard since you can't just farm them off of one survivor. you just get progressively more powerful the more you leave people to heal. at half/under half tokens you already get status effect afflictions that slow the game down, and when the game should be at its peak, you get instant downs.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1593723#Comment_1593723
Pairing this to a hex takes its power away completely. the aim of this is to be decently useful (like an alternative sloppy much like bitter murmur is to bbq) in the midgame, but have incredible power in the late game (if survivors take hits vs you, or heal incredibly quickly and escape you a ton) (much like rancor is to bitter murmur despite doing a similar thing.)
I'm aware, it just seems to me like the type of perk that bhvr would make into a hex, and then wouldn't get used ever.

I still think they could make Hemorrhage at least passably decent by baking Bloodhounds effect into it and then making the Bloodhound perk now show blood as aura reading in a small radius.
If decent Exhaustion addons were much more wide spread among killer addons I actually wouldn't have any issues with Exhaustion perks as then there would some risk/downside in running the Exhaustion perks because a killer could be running those addons. In turn it would also add risk in the killer running those addons because then less survivors could be running those perks and you waste an addon slot.
IE high risk/high reward like hex totems but for survivors.
On the hemorrhage point I feel it would make the add ons that apply it actually have use, but I think that change would be a bit much as part of Sloppy Butcher.

No I say everyone has a right to an opinion but saying someone is wrong due to bias is wrong in my opinion I would say that you can say they are wrong if you at least make the effort to put yourself in their shoes. And tru3 and scott are the only ones who made videos about it. You can talk all you want on forums but you dont have proof without video. And thats why I want to see these counters working. Id love if there was a GOOD counter to her and if there is would you mind sending me a video with proof or record it yourself. I'm open to changing my mind but I need to see something that can get me thinking
Well saying only tru3 and scott have made videos on it is just untrue.
I've not watched these so I cant say if they are 'GOOD counter's but if I can find these simply from typing 'dbd spirit counter' I dont see how you could think only tru3 and scott have made videos on the subject.
And also I personally tried the counters people on the forum have suggested myself and they work most of the time. I cant record anything currently myself, as my computers power supply is currently damaged. However I do implore you to atleast try the counterplay others have suggested in the meantime.

No im explaining why people listen. When you are BIASED you dont look at everything so you have a skewed view and thats why people cite him. Disagree all you want but if you refuse to actually look at it in the other sides way then you dont have much place to call the people who do wrong because they think about both sides
I will disagree because I find spirit enjoyable to go against, I've seen the other sides point of view, they disagree with me and do not find her fun to verse, and their opinion that it's not fun to verse I cant call wrong because it's an opinion, just like they cant call my opinion of enjoying to verse her wrong.
However when you try to say its completely uncounterable when theres been multiple times proven and shown by a variety of sources, then people can call you wrong.
I dont enjoy versing oni, doesnt mean I think anyone who likes to go against Oni is 'BIASED' or that they refuse to look at my point of view. I just assume they have a differing opinion from me. and if I were to say oni is uncounterable theyd be completely in the right to call me wrong.

Oh absolutely, it's not impossible to counter. I agree with you
I just don't know how I'm meant to improve and learn what to do against it, if that makes sense? Any play feels pointless when I know she has Stridor and will almost always know what I'm doing, pair that with the fact most Spirits run movement speed addons + use the power in short bursts, plays certainly feel impossible to make
Yeah I'm in agreement then, im hoping when I play as her some I might be able to plan strategies against her, but alas I dont own her yet.

Now do the same with killer and you'll only see BBQ, PGTW, Corrupt, NOED, Discordance, Infectious Fright, Nurse's, Spirit Fury + Enduring. That's nine perks to match your 'data' and is the majority of perks I see killers use at red rank. Also the same slow build used on every Freddy and Legion.
I mean, you could collect that data yourself, and show your findings, I for one would be interested in it.
-
Impressive , was it in the way I got it where I was repairing a gen when the killer closed hatch and it gave it for some reason, or did you actually finish all the gems left.
-
@Brokenbones said:
Personally it's more of a frustration than a hatred of spirit for myself and that frustration usually only comes into play when the Spirit has Stridor. When I'm facing killers like Pyramid Head or Deathslinger - killers that people have also said they feel are unfair or boring, I don't have the same frustration.
The two factors that make spirit frustrating for me are:
- Stridor makes anything I try to do to throw off the Spirit or make any sort of play almost pointless. Without Iron will even when crouching you're still extremely loud and Iron will only slightly helps with it
- When I'm facing PH or Slinger, it might not be always possible to do something about their powers but at least I can physically see them and try to react to what they are doing (within reason, you can't really juke a Slinger with good aim but you can still SEE him)
The only issue I have with the fighting game comparison you made here, is that, again - both opponents can still see each other. In DBD you physically cannot see the spirit when she's in her power and the footstep noises would be a good way to know, if it wasn't for the loud chase music (and loud grunts of pain from Stridor lul)
I respect your viewpoint on the subject though.
Respectful opinion, I agree for the most part however even with stridor I can escape a chase I'd say just under half the time, it definitely makes it much harder to deal with her though.
Edit: rereading my point didnt seem clear, I think spirit with stridor is a pain to deal with but even still not completely uncounterable

Yes, let's compare a fighting game to Dead by Daylight.
What's next? Maybe write an essay on how similar Call of Duty is to Farming Simulator? Both have vehicles, right?
I mean it seems more like comparing the psychological aspect of them in the OP, but why not compare CoD and Farming Sim, they're both the same medium and are both serialized to the point that it's practically the same game released with a new coat of paint, sports games fall into this category too, this is off topic to the thread but it is an interesting thing to discuss.

I stated why... Do you not read? Spine chill makes you rely on faster vaults so you get cocky and iron will makes it easier to mindgame. I want to play without reliance on perks. Thats why. I have ran Spine chill since I first got the perk and I have like 900 hours. Trust me im an advocate of Spine chill. But I want to get better all on my own
No need to be rude mate, I was just asking a question as to the reasoning as you saying because it helps in chase doesnt give too much insight into your reasoning.

Omg I RAN SPINECHILL FOR MONTHS you guys think that im saying this to say they are bad?! I literally dont run them because it gives me benefits in chase. I dropped dead hard for that SAME reason. People need to stop responding as if I talked down on them its annoying
Well my bad for misunderstanding, I thought when you were saying why should you run it when theres 'more useful perks' it meant that you thought spine chill wasn't useful.
However if it counters something you find difficult to verse and you think it's a useful perk, may I ask why you don't run it?
-
Well there's the obvious ones, Monstrous Shrine and Deja Vu.

Bam spine chill and iron will. Now I can be prepared all the time even when there are more useful perks
Spine chill is useful in other situations too though, it's really good against stealth killers as well as deathslinger and huntress, and even if its none of them, you atleast get the vault speed whenever you're looked at, I've never really run iron will so cant say which situations its useful in.

But if you struggle against spirit, why not use a perk slot or two to run a perk that improves your matchup against spirit?
Or do what I do cause of my dislike of Oni, and dedicate a whole build to deal with it, sure I wont always get a oni, and sometimes when I get an oni I'll be running a different build, but in the few times it pays off it's really satisfying.

If you have to guess against a killer that means they don't have a counter. I like when I can use my skills to win and not have to hide or waste pallets. Or be a gen rat
An educated guess based on playstyle is common in almost every pvp game. I cant actually think of any that dont have some form of guessing.
-
False, this is not the reason I hate spirit as I dont know if I hate playing as her, but shes fairly fun to verse.
-
Honestly this combined with the guy that also posted a thing of 100 games worth of perks he saw from survivors are quite interesting, kinda funny ye both completed them today.

It's simple. People aren't playing killer anymore. The survivors are the majority. So if they are waiting long enough the MM will throw a r20 at a group of r1's so they have a match. Those 4 red survivors continue playing the game and buying cosmetics.
I understand that by why have I been getting a random yellow rank survivor in around half of my games on both sides, when I'm purple and red most the time on both.
-
@EvilJoshy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1594349#Comment_1594349
Unfortunately deranking doesn't stop the MM from putting you against red survivors anymore.
I'm aware but it atleast should help in theory, but yeah when I came back after a break I was a yellow rank going against mainly purples and reds, now that I'm hovering between red and purple, I'm getting yellows and reds, no clue what's going on.
-
Deathslinger and Doctor, because I just like them in general, their sound design for one I think the two of them have the best in this game, And the 2 of them have a very enjoyable gameplay style in my opinion. If you were to ask who I can consistently do well with it would be Doctor and Huntress however, the fact that when I first started playing i basically just played huntress for killer is why I dont find her as enjoyable despite performing better, just kinda burnout yaknow.

Play whoever you want through the losses you'll derank, then as you get better with the killer you're trying to improve with you'll get up to the level you were at with freddy and spirit.

Again, where did you get this information? Is this posted somewhere? It is true that someone who is camping a hook is "not" by default out chasing people, and that would have the effect of decreasing the said points they earn in that category, but you seem to be inferring that proximity to the hook is applying an extra penalty, i.e. reduction in said points. I don't think that is correct, and would very much like to know if that is what you are saying, and where you are finding this information?
In game hovering over the emblem itll say where you got the points for it, one of them had negative points for proximity to hooked survivors. It is also included on the wiki and I will provide a image to back up this part, as I need to get a new power supply for my PC before I can get anything in game as evidence.

Where did you get this idea? :) Is this posted somewhere? Or are you referring to the fact that someone camping isn't out earning other emblems?
Proximity to hooked survivors reduces points for one of the categories, I think its chaser, which a killer that was actually camping wouldn't have much of anyway.

Seriously though, some things just take time to click. You can read all the tutorials you want, but it can take awhile to reach that A-Ha! moment, especially if a skill isn't naturally in your wheelhouse. Like I don't even need the Killer to mind game me, I mind game myself right into a sweet struggle snuggle.
See this is a good mindset for improving, I wish some of the teammates I get had this instead of DC'ing on 1st down.
