Pyramid just had too much control in a chase, which is a MASSIVE problem as Killers shouldn't control the chase. That's something reserved for Survivors. I'm now fully expecting nerfs to Deathslinger and Spirit, since they seem to be lumped together with PH.
Last night, I was wondering if I should play PH to enjoy him before the nerf (and in case the devs ruined him), but decided not to and played the last day of the COD: Black Ops Cold War beta. I have never regretted playing Call of Duty as much as I do now.
Unfortunately, it's looking more and more like the Blight cosmetics are the only good things about this patch (Blighted Blight is the second best cosmetic in the game).
after those 2 shall it be Doctor and Clown, they both have antiloop powers too afterall.

The worst is when you do 2 gens alone, then run the killer for a while, while nothing gets done, get downed and see your teamates just spread out crouching,

The way the aura works now is a buff. The old version simply had the aura last for X seconds and then the aura went away. So if you were in a chase, for example, you might not see the aura if you don’t check it within about 8 seconds
Now the aura persists the entire time that two survivors are working on it and continues after one or both of them leave it for 8 seconds. It pretty much makes it impossible to not know two people are on a gen, provided they are within that 98 meter range at tier 3. (98 meters actually is a long distance but doesn’t quite cover the whole map, distance wall to wall is about 100 meters on outdoor maps and distance from one corner to an opposite corner is about 140 meters. But if you are anywhere not near an edge or corner it effectively covers the whole map.)
No? the aura remained for 8 seconds after the most recent noise notification, which led to more accurate information than this change. Had you ever used the perk before cause it was pretty obvious the aura remained for longer than 8 seconds lol.

Any advice on stopping people DCing? Whenever I go for adept on him I always get atleast 1 early DC, yet when I run proper builds thats not the case.
-
Oni, I dont like him from either perspective
-
Deathslinger is one of the 3 killers I mainly play, I see hate for him and his mains on places like youtube, twitch, etc , but the only times Ive been told to kill myself in game, was when going for the adept blight, and a time when I ran no mither and nothing else, both times it was Ace's which is odd considering outside of these 2 examples Ace players tend to be some of the most chill.

Just because it wasn't included originally doesn't mean the devs didn't change their mind. It's not as if they "accidentally" added swfs to the game and they clearly fully expected swf members to probably mostly be on comms. Heck, the devs themselves use comms on their streams and comms are built in to the console version of the game as well.
Do comms present a balance challenge? Sure. But that doesn't make them "unintentional", it's not like they said "oops! Looks like swfs are in the game now!"
If comms are built in in console DBD I'd assume the gap between SWF and Solos is nonexistent, is this the case? I'm really curious why I've not heard anyone mention this before in a discussion about SWF.

The only way I would want first person is if the game had VR support, other than that it would be ridiculous to have first person because stealth killers would be way too overwhelming and having the HUD and perks in your FOV would be an aggravation I would probably stop playing at that point
but the hud and perks are already in your FOV, I dont get this point?
-
Im unsure what you're referring to, I've not paid discussions of it much mind as I don't use ruin and undying, and it doesnt seem too bad as survivor atleast imo.

Ok so if you admit is has a psychological effects what the problem? A character crouches multiple times in front of you. That really pushes your limits?
You asked for one game where people dont Tbag, I gave a few, when did I ever imply anything was pushing my limits.

Ok ok that's fair enough but you cant tell me a lot of video games gave people tbag. Tbagging goes beyond just bm.
I honestly dont understand what you were trying to say by that first sentence? and Yes it can go beyond bm by using it to get a psychological edge over your opponent, but it is still ultimately bm, if it wasnt it wouldnt have that effect.

It is and saying it isnt would be a lie. Give me one game where people dont tbag.
Chess,Poker,LoL DotA,Starcraft,Among Us,Fall Guys,Any Total War game, Any Grand Strategy game, Rocket League, Red Orchestra 2, should I go on?

I'd say Plague, even when I 4k, 30k+bp I tend to depip or safety pip at best.

Some time ago, before they even announced they were going to create breakable walls, I made a post which was to balance windows at structures. Especially those that needed balancing.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/117198/an-idea-to-balance-super-strong-windows
It would have balanced windows by giving survivors the option to use the window but also have to be mindful since it would get depleted (crumbled down into a doorway) as shown in the pics.
Like, I wouldn’t even be mad at these breakable walls but I do feel like survivors should be able to break them as well. Maybe they have to find an axe on the map that they can use, or could be an item that they can bring via the bloodweb. Just something more exciting.
That window Idea seems good tbh, I assume it was before the Ironworks window was nerfed since you give that one as an example. I like the idea of strong things remaining strong yet having limited uses.

What makes you think, a chase against a Deathslinger is fun? Not wanna start another discussion about it, but there are every once in a while indivuduals with those extremly strange claims that Deathslinger is fun in a chase so i take this opportunity and ask you about it. I am looking for the truth here, maybe i define fun or even chase different as those people.
Well I enjoy versing him because its a different experience from regular looping, having to consider line of sight, distance, considering what he would gain if he got a shot at the time. The fact that making him miss is difficult, but if you do it you can make a lot of distance from the reload, sorta high risk high reward. I also enjoy that alike huntress and nurse versing them and playing as them have transferable skills. in terms of how to play around certain, loops, buildings, terrain, etc. though this specific point is only tangentially related to the chase I feel its important to mention.
What makes you think he is unfun? I like to see others perspectives whenever I share my own, to see where we agree and where we disagree.

@Johnny_XMan said:
This is why survivor isn’t for everybody.
I play both sides and I enjoy both sides. They are both stressful at times but they can both be satisfying.
Survivor can be pretty easy if you are playing against less skilled players. Same with killer.
I also have to disagree wholeheartedly with the chase being boring. It is probably one of the most satisfying things about this game. I do agree survivor could use something different, but more objectives is not it. You are basically going to give killers just more time to kill.
What I would do is add more interactive gameplay between killer and survivor, so parts of the chase could feel more memorable. Instead what they are doing now is add breakable walls, and to me that is the opposite of what they should be doing because there is no interaction there.
I agree on the breakable walls thing, it seems they make them so they need to be broken or theyre detrimental to be broken

I feel all skill checks should be replaced with mini games. Or at least at 25% intervals. Add tension. Like i know im going to have to do a mini game, but where is the killer? For a couple seconds you wont be able to see anything but the mini game.
I mean I can see the thematic reason, having to focus more,on the generator, and I can see how it could increase engagement, but would stuff like premonition stll proc if your camera was positioned towards them?

@xEa said:
I highly recommand every killer main to do this every once in a while (play survivor only for a few days). This would change a lot of perspective, especially why a certain killer is boring / unfun to verse.
The problem with survivor gameplay after a few months or even weeks is, that the only interesting/exciting part that is left is the chase. And then you see killer mains here pop up and want us to explain how fun, excited and fair a chaise against a Deathslinger or a Spirit is (it makes sitting on Gens qualy excited as the chase itself).
While It wasnt solel survivor Ive played around 80 or 90% survivor this week as apposed to the around 40% usually, my opinions are unchanged, I still think Oni is the only killer thats unfun to verse, and I also think hes unfun to play. possibly with hag, but her power can easily be negated
And I would disagree, the killers I have most fun in chase against are Huntress,Deathslinger,Blight,Billy,Doctor Spirit, in that order.
I still dont see many Demos or PHs and play neither of them myself however, so I cant speak on them for the enjoyment of either side

I forgot they nerfed gearhead nobody runs it.
Yeah it didnt seem like a great perk anyway, probably the most confusing nerf I've seen from them.

@ThePolice said:
Lol you’re forgetting about trash perks killers get like forced penance, gear head, blood favour and unnecessary nerfs like hillbilly’s. Survivors on the other hand get good perks like soul guard, blood pact, for the people. Etc. While you could argue blood pact and for the people aren’t that strong, they’re much stronger than killer’s trash perks. The only decent perks killers have gotten recently is undying.
you could've combined your killer points with the unnecessary nerf of gearhead.
-
A close game, where you could feasibly see it having had the opposite outcome.

To answer your questions right before the TLDR, Yes, Yes, and Yes but not especially on stream, its the same wether you're streaming or not.

Used to be one for the Tank, but that massive size would make clipping problems with tight vaults & hallways.
I wouldn't like the Jockey, purely cause he'd get the Hag & Blight treatment: Short.
Boomer's a puker, just that makes him a fat Plague to me.
Charger's a Hillbilly.
Hunter would be original, but his thing is to pounce around and really high, so that could be a balance problem by itself. (Loops being a main defense for Survivors.)
Smoker's a Deathslinger.
Witch seems impossible to make her feel legit, as she doesn't do anything in L4D until someone provokes her. If you can just control her normally, it could've pretty much been any other Special Infected instead.
Spitter might just be different enough, i mean she also releases goo from her mouth like Boomer & Plague, but it's different.
You could spit acid pools down that will damage them over time, you could spit it over walls, vaults & Pallets, maybe it can even damage Dying Survivors.
I had written off Spitter for the reason you had done Boomer, but you've kind of changed my stance through your reasoning, I used to want it to be Smoker, but with the inclusion of Deathslinger it would be pointless.

Needing a mountain of luck, we might someday get a Left 4 Dead Killer. 🤷♂️
What would it be? The Boomer or Jockey would be the best fits in my opinion. As a lot of the others seem they'd be too similar to current killers

The weirdest thing is on average it seems green and purple ranks have a more rounded playstyle than that of most red ranks, I've seen this both from my teammates and opponents, Is my experience the outlier or have others noticed this too?

Skill is being able to hook and kill the survivors while also keeping pressure on gens as fast as possible. If you are able to hook and kill them all while keeping pressure you have a pretty high skill.

I said little to no skill. The only one that takes 100% no skill is unlimited tier 3 Myers + tombstone.
Then what constitutes, Oni,Myers and Slinger having little or no skill?

Yes, I have. I've lost to them, and I've won some too. My feeling is that Solo and SWF should be in two different Ques, so the DEV can require an extra Generator to power the gates, and unlock a 5th Perk for the Killer for the SWF/Team Que. This is the only solution that can balance the 5th Perk (Comms) without also strangling the poor Solo Que.
And yes, high mobility killers that have an easier time patrolling Generators do benefit more from these Perks than the Killers who ACTUALLY need them. That is a fact, and I'll happily cede the point. I play Myers as my Killer and I need those Perks far more than a Nurse or a Blight. But, I don't believe their existence makes it impossible to play said Killers. I think the fact that some Killers are so mobile doesn't reflect badly on the new Perks as much as it does the Killers who might needs some tweaks. I'm sure those tweaks will come.
The only problem I could think of with split queues is 3 man SWFs how would it work with them?

I completely forgot about that scene! I loved the marshmallow roasting as well.
I only though of this because of a blight who refused to leave hooks from the start of the match. I got frustrated because he has such high mobility that it would be easy for him to get in a chase. Also, it didn’t help that my teammates just lurked around my hook rather than rush gens.
Damn sounds rough, had a similar case happen with a demogorgon who was facecamping me one game, and the 2 blendettes on the team were just crouched behind him just teabagging, I dont know what it is but I've only ever been camped by Demos and Docs

there is actually a sound effect that plays when he is aiming at you and they recently made it allot louder so you can hear it in chase but the issue is most deathsingers instantly shoot after they AdS so the sound effect end before the survivor hears it
when did they make it louder? I've not noticed it changed but its been a while since I've faced him
-
I would agree though I feel his add on's rarities should be shifted around a bit, the pallet break one was great before they made a similar thing basekit, now its still good but not worthy of an ultra rare in my opinion, then again, Deathslinger and Demogorgons ultra rares are even worse so what do I know

Funny thing is that those killers you just named actually take skill to use, it's not like I can just play one of them and 4k. The only killers in the game that take little to no skill is Micheal Myers, Oni, and Deathslinger.
May I ask what you define as skill?

At the moment I'm running M&A, STBFL, BBQ and Surge.
M&A makes everything easier on him, STBFL lets you really quickly shoot someone after a hit and it takes a lot of people off guard. BBQ is mainly for the BP, Surge is good because I find he needs to be constantly pressuring so spending time kicking gens with pop is a waste of time, and it means that they get a head start on you in a chase where otherwise you could sneak attack them and then chase without needing to stop and pop.
How well does this build work on him? I was actually thinking about this the other day but have yet to get stbfl or surge on him in the time it took me to get prestige 3 level 50 I gut surge level 1 on the first prestige, and havent gotten stbfl at all

Corn Maps and Midwich, are the only maps I actively dislike.

If so I might actually get hag, ruin never appealed to me due to the fact I like Overcharge+Lullaby combo, and Old ruin I just didnt like as it seemed it either won the game for you or was completetly useless

I dont think that's over preforming I think its just optimal play. Preventing the killer from injuring a healthy survivor means less time to heal and more time on gens.
Its both, over-performing and optimal use of said over-performing perks

Uhh ask the devs we arent the ones who did the change nor complained about the perk. That would be good but until that happens dont expect survivor to run bad perks for you.
Who is expecting survivors to run bad perks? I just asked how that guy was apparently blaming survivors by asking for consistent application of reasoning for changes.
-
@azame said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1644615#Comment_1644615
What better perks do we have?
Blame the devs for not buffing perks and giving incentive to run others. Also blame killers that play on a certain way that makes a perk meta *cough cough* tunneling *cough cough.*
That being said there is technically nothing wrong with it but you shoudlnt blame survivors for not wanting to be deleted and using perks appropriate for the situation.
How is it blaming survivors to ask for consistent logic behind changes? If anything it seemed a lot more like they want perks to be rebalanced so they have similar power across the board. Most perks in this game are near useless.
