Hex: Survivors Bamboozle Themselves
----
My only problem with "do bones" is when it comes to NOED. You have to do all the bones, regardless of gens completed
-
So survivors working on gens straight off-hook will be the new flashlight-clicky-click for the killer's attention?
And without them needing an item or DS to do it, too
-
If I don't say GG when I lose then I feel like a pizza shift if I say it when I win. Plus I'm on console, so I don't get to say anything. 🤐
-
Reverse subject of the topic: New killer perks I'm looking forward to adding to my other killers' builds...
Starstruck will free up two of my perk slots (Iron Grasp and Save the Best for Last) since it may reduce the bodyblocking I have to deal with.
-
I whiffed a lot with Plague when she first came out because her taller point of view threw me up-- I mean off.
I had the opposite problem with Nightmare and felt like I was getting free hits.

It has nothing do do with Xbox unless you have crossplay turned off. It's actually because there's almost no killers - which, coincidentally, is why killer ques are instant. The fix is to have more people playing killer.
To get more killers the devs need to give more incentive to play that role. If they cannot buff the killer to better deal with SWF because it destroys solo survivors, then they are left with awarding bonus Bloodpoints to whichever role is currently short of players (hence the survey from months back asking what is the minimum reasonable amount you would accept to play a role you wouldn't normally or do not enjoy).
Currently, their incentive to play killer seems (to me) to have the RNG for daily rituals be weighted toward killer rituals (though they call it a "bug". Idk...)
-
There will be faster survivor queue times tomorrow when the new chapter releases and many players try out new killer.
It might not last long though if the killer is too weak or unappealing.

Oh I didn't know that, then disregard my example.
This perks purpose is to change obsessions, no matter how you tweak it it won't be meta because changing obsessions isn't meta. Yes, you can put aura reading on it but why would you do that, there are already many perks much better at tracking survivors so this perk would still only be used by the people who wants to change the obsession. If what you want isn't to buff this perk but to have a perk that shows the aura of a survivor when they leave your terror radius, we can have a separate perk for that.
We only have 4 perks slots. More perks isn't going to help.

It sounds like something survivors would cry and complain about a lot.
What's new? They would cry and complain anyway.

Failed Dead Hards should not cause exhaustion
-
The Xbox has chat pads for controllers and USB ports for keyboards.
It sure would be nice to tell my teammates if/when I have Camaradrie equipped, since there is not enough indication of the perk existing during the match.
Either they don't know I have it and farm me off the hook when the killer camps, or they don't know I have it and leave me to die on the hook when the killer camps.
It needs a shared-perk icon while hooked (at the very least, while struggling) to get any decent value. (And this is after they fix the bug that occasionally makes you stop struggling for no reason while this perk is equipped.)

To be fair I don't think a lot of people will run it. The survivor meta hasn't changed for 4 years, why would it change now?
The meta hasn't changed because camping and tunneling do not cost any perk slots. The killer doesn't have to stop and ask themself, with each new chapter released, "do I want to give up my camping and tunneling perks for these new perks?"
The survivors are stuck with the questions instead. "Do I want to give up anti-camping and anti-tunneling, or my 'Press E if outpositioned' for these new perks?"

Overcharge no. PGTW also doesn't work with it.
Gearhead I don't know but I'd assume not; it's not a good or great skillcheck

unhooking someone is impossible when theres 10 traps on the hook and you dont have a flashlight
It's possible to unhook, but someone is almost guaranteed to go down shortly after

I had a match earlier today that had me looking for the forfeit button in the first 30 seconds.
- I was playing the Trapper
- Two survivors in the lobby switch at the last second to bring in two keys (strike one)
- The map was Mother's Dwelling (strike two)
- I set a trap immediately and walk to the other corner
- Less than 10s later, my trap was disarmed
- I look back at it and see an Object of Obsession with a map (strike three)
- I went AFK in front of the exit switch
One of them was a Twitch streamer.

In what way does it ruin the fun gameplay for killers???? If it's done at the wrong time in the match it's literally free pressure. And there are several perks that help with bodyblocking already: Iron grasp, agitation, forced penance, mad grit, STBFL and the new Trickster perk
"forced penance" 🤣
The Broken status is really weak. All four survivors play injured just fine against The Legion, and Forced Penance only applies to one person, not four. Then, to add insult to injury, Forced Penance has a cooldown.

(When it asked me to select a category, Bug-Reporting was not an option. I could see Bug Reporting on the list, but I could not click it; it would not highlight as a selectable option.)
-
and we didn't need a derpy killer from the countryside with a hammer and a chainsaw because we already had a derpy killer from the countryside with a hammer and a chainsaw.
Should the devs remove Leatherface, the cannibal, since we already had the hillbilly?

The survivor has been outpositioned, but is still completely safe (unless they have bad ping; then they are exhausted on the ground)

Found it. It's off to the side (web version), but only visible while viewing a discussion; not visible from the main forum page.

"Noed is honestly a pretty weak perk. You can prevent it from spawning by yourself. Just bring a map or bring small game/detective hunch then you can get rid of all the totems very early on." - @IWasLeft2Die
Yeah, and then get left on the hook (or worse, farmed off the hook) when your teammates decide that you're useless for not rushing gens.
-
Are you kidding? Ash gets the most skill checks out of all survivors! You should buy him and throw Stakeout on him for the gen rush...

----
They gave you a button to hide post-game chat. If you don't want to use it, don't bother crying over what was said.
-
If a survivor disconnects, an Entity spike should come up out of the ground and take them, just like at the end of End Game Countdown. That at least buys the killer some time

I don't think the engine takes what the killer is into consideration when generating map tiles. I'm no expert in game engineering, but I feel like taking the killer into consideration when generating tiles would greatly increase the load time of matches. And while it's difficult, I have seen plenty of people successfully open exit gates in scenarios like this, you just gotta be pretty patient.
Would be nice if the exit gate lights did not light up to show progress when there is only one remaining survivor

1st tunneling is desire to chase and hook same person over and over ignoring other people. Tunneler will pick you up. slugging means he just wants to apply pressure
2nd if killer came to a hook and can't find your unhooker he'll chase you and slug you, because youre the only one he can see.
Slugging is not tunneling since you have chance to use your anti-slug perks or getting picked up by teammates
Anti-slug costs perk slots! It's not free!
Camping, tunneling, slugging... all free for the killer base kit, every killer

@Zaytex said:
Right so you want to combine DS and UB?
Man, let's just give survivors God mode at this point with these buffs.
OR lets make killers have to equip a perk that lets them camp and a perk that lets them tunnel, and revoke their God mode
-
I'm ready for shorter survivor queue times!
I've only had short killer queues, but I've finished all the killer challenge tomes.
I have survivor challenges, but the true challenge is waiting 10 mins for a macth, being the first one caught and tunneled out the match with liitle-to-no challenge progress, and then requeue'ing to do it all over again
-
I haven't used The Executioner's power yet, and don't plan on ever using it, but I play him very frequently.
I use him for a braindead chase M1 build (because he's 115%, and how he drags the sword behind him is representative of how I play this build, and we don't have a robot killer yet); throw on some quality of life perks like Lightborn, Iron Grasp, and BBQ; and then play like a bot, not stressing over anything. Whatever happens happens; I get to lower my heart rate after several intense matches; and I get a handful of points in the process.
The most annoying part is the messages after the match:
"Thank you for not camping or tunneling. I've only had campers and tunnelers for the past 3 or 4 matches."
My response:
"I wish survivors would simply run in a straight line instead of looping and 360's. I've only had survivors who do this for the past 3 or 4,000 matches."
-
Just equip Bond (that one perk that should be base kit to put solos and SWF on the same playing field) and then briefly start to gen-tap if you see a survivor's aura

Get 7-9 hooks, all gens are done, NOED activates, get the last 3-5 hooks significantly easier.
So, the only that is changing is that NOED activates when all gens are done (as it should)? Instead of simply activating when the exits are powered (including via hatch close)?
How does that take away face-camping/tunneling killers' "insurance?"
-
I just don't like that both sides can do cheesy stuff without needing any perks to do so. After enough players complain about it, the devs release or rework a perk and say here you go, here's a new tool to help deal with the cheese. Me, looking at my toolbelt that's already full, "and where am I going to put that?"
We need more perk slots
-
Why is this in Polls?? -
@MadLordJack said:

Because you're using it to get the last few hooks?
There are 4 survivors. They can only be hooked, at most, 3 times before they are out of the game. 3 x 4 = 12. If you have hooked 12 times the match is over, and now NOED is activated? What are you using it for? To quickly run to hatch and 1-shot it shut?
-
Mad cuz the game cannot be balanced as long as SWF and solo queues are not equal
Game dies if SWF feature removed, so solo survivors need more ways to teamwork like totem counter, ping system, who's being chased, who's near a hatch or exit gate, who's going for the unhook, what perks do survivors have equipped
-
Will they ever nerf Meg's (healthy) breathing?
-
@MadLordJack said:
All it really does is reward scummy playstyles, or bad killers that then rank up too quick. It's not a good perk, one free kill means nothing, and no good killer runs it very much. It's just generally very unhealthy for the game.
I think it should get a buff, remove the Hex part, and become a reward for going for 12-hook trials. That way, outmatched killers won't get a free kill, facecampers and tunnelers get no insurance, and it becomes a legitimate play to go for 12 hooks.
If you get 12 hooks that means all the survivors have been sacrificed or killed. Why would you need NOED if the match is over?
-
The only change that NOED needs is its trigger condition. It should activate on last gen completed, not exit gates powered.
NOED isn't punishing survivors for rushing gens; it's punishing survivors for failing to 100% completely finish their secondary objective.
The killer can close the hatch, use the speed boost to patrol both exit gates, and 1-shot the last remaining survivor even if there are still five gens remaining!

if you cant catch a single survivor in that amount of time then you need to watch some youtube videos.
I do watch YouTube videos.
I watch Sweh run the killer for 5 gens match after match after match. It's pathetic. This game is unbalanced, and that is unacceptable.

you can just follow right behind them for x amount of seconds and then down them again. if someone does that, punish them. it's so simple.
the only change bt needs is to make it range based vs. terror radius.
but you cannot pick them up because of Decisive Shield (even after the coming nerf, because Protection Hit does not count as unhooking/healing)
Bodyblocking garbage needs to be addressed

Since the Gideon Meat Plant changes that added more god pallets and ######### breakable walls I really fear those now.
This next mid-chapter should be Demo's turn, which I cannot wait for, I hope they don't break him tho.
They're going to buff Demo by letting him change the portal he's traveling to mid-travel, but, to compensate, his cooldown will now have a cooldown =/
-
Yes! Thank you!
-
I simply stopped giving a %^#! and started playing like a bot from the Switch version. Just walk from gen to gen kicking them until I find a survivor who wants a chase. Chase them for 5 gens, only managing to injure them. Then walk back and forth to each exit gate until they leave.
-
I'm looking forward to the new chapter. I hope they release it

Maybe you are playing on a rank to high for your skill and when you keep playing you will derank to a skill level where you can be happy?
Derank? XD ... Good one.
There is no de-rank. You rank up quickly to where you should be, but then you don't stop. You eventually rank up beyond your skill. Natural gameplay will not let you derank back to where you should be. Only idling for the entire match will derank you

That’s such a beautiful story. Why did she honestly expect your friend to die when she didn’t help out at all. Hatch hoverers tend to become chickens and hide near hatch the minute it spawns. Rest of your team be damned.
Story? That was a sentence
Edit: 3 sentences

"Survivors are a team of 4. They can choose to cooperate or to look out for themselves." - Help & Tutorials> The Game> Assymtery
No rules against camping the hatch and letting other survivors die. There are, however, rules against griefing, so don't even try to work with the killer to get them killed.
