That would be too strong, but Boons, as they are, are too strong as well.
Maybe a compromise would be that each time a totem is snuffed the totem gets weaker, and breaks after the nth time (3rd time means 15 stomps to get rid of all five totems, while 2nd time means 10)
-
Here is a clip. The hatch has not been shown at tier 1 or 2. I have tier 3 now, but while testing it, my game crashed while healing using a boon totem.

What can I do as killer to deal with boon totems?
I can stop playing killer, and play survivor using a totem hunting build.
-
Myers and Ghostface have feet. They can stomp on totems. I don't see the problem
-
So you're mad that the survivors took your advice and "did bones" 😂

chad yes, absolutely and unironically
if you get rolled by a 5-stack devour and the killer wasn't hard proxycamping it (i.e. it's the only totem else they don't know where it is) then your team probably just wanted to push gens even when 3-stack was revealed which is almost always loss unless literally on last gen
i.e. potatoes
So it's only okay if it's in the Killer's favor... Got it
-
Boons snuffed: 8
Survivors hooked: 2
Hook count when the last gen was finished: 2
----
Let killers DESTORY totems

so an unlucky t3 myers should have their entire t3 blown on injuring someone with a yellow bar and then have to drop chase to wander around whatever sound-obscuring building like the asylum the blue totem that he didn't know was there to punt it and have it relit shortly after he leaves the building, to then go on and probably lose the game all because you're a potato that can't handle noed and its 0 to 4 but likely 1-2 instadowns
Oh, but it's fine if survivors are unlucky in cleansing Devour Hope and end up giving it more and more stacks by being out in the open looking for it while exposed, just to get morid. "Just do bones LuLzzz..."
-
@Exult said:
Surviors in the Deep Wounds state already go into the dying state when hit
Without that stipulation, an exposed survivor would never go into the dying state because if they're constantly exposed then they're constantly hardened.
It's supposed to behave like Bazzajack described it. "The next hit that would put you from the healthy state into the dying state will instead make you injured with a deep wound."
-
@Nayru said:
so a 110% terror radius worth of zone where myers/ghostface/all exposed perks+addons get completely screwed? don't know about that one
Then just do bones and get rid of it...
-
That brings up a good point.
If his power loses a token for each subsequent survivor hit (not the first) then it will limit his ability to follow up to achieve the same snowball effect, and without affecting the 1v1.
-
If survivors can only push past teammates who are not running (they are walking, crouch-walking, or stationary), then it would solve the survivor-to-survivor BM while not letting survivors abuse it mid-chase to better bodyblock the killer (since they would all be running and pushing past would be disabled).
It wouldn't be one survivor completely phasing through the other; it would be half phasing and half pushing them aside (like a dropped pallet pushes survivors aside). It would also take a few seconds of running for it to be disabled, so that the BM'ing survivor cannot just repeatedly sprint in short bursts to keep the bodyblock active all the time.
-
So a killer could choose Casual for an entire month, tank their MMR, and then disable it the next month for EZ matches at their low MMR?
-
If the dead Feng could not spectate me, Adam wouldn't have been able to open my locker in front of the killer (since lockers also stop Bond, etc., auras)
-
Killer: "I only use BBQ for the extra Bloodpoints..."
*Survivors get protection from aura reading*
Killer: "BBQ is ded =( "
-
They should have an invisible box surround the survivor while they are progressing the Solve the Lament inetraction, so that the chains cannot interrupt.
This would allow the Chain Hunt to still pressure the survivor carrying the cube (to prevent them from taking it hostage) because stopping their repairs to start the Solve the Lament for free invulnerability still interrupts their gen repairs, just like the chains would, but with the added caveat that the killer gets a noise notification and a chance to teleport if they're fast enough.

Sounds like a teleport tbh
I wasn't carrying the cube. Which addon lets him teleport to any survivor he'd like?

😬
Exactly the perks i don't run as a solo😬😂
But i do indeed see those perks quite often, some times even in that combination.
The worst part i hate with that is when you unhook someone and the self care instead of letting me heal them 🤷🏼♂️🤦🏻♂️
They're prob tired of being healed by other survivors who cannot pass their skill checks. Rather than risk letting someone else fail the skill check and bring the killer over, they'd prefer to play the skillcheck mini game themselves to heal.
-
Which addon of his lets him turn invisible and have intermittent terror radius, before appearing behind you and downing you (not a teleport; no cube in hand)?
-
You can see the old double-window shack (with 1 door instead of 2) @ 50s into the first OG killer tutorial vid
-
I can't solve the box. The chains interrupt every single time

Yeah, I'm not doing that. They can watch the hour + long stream if they want to know.
Where is it? I'm not going on Twitch. Only finding 10 min recaps on YouTube
-
This is partly why I only equip items/addons/offerings I can "afford" to lose.
Afford is subjective, but I have picked an arbitrary number that I do not drop below so that I always have a supply should I really need it.
----
I've always figured that one day I'd be able to dump all of my Bloodpoints into my main and could use all the items and such that I want, but with new content drawing my Bloodpoints away, it'll likely never happen

@HealsBadMan said:
You may not want to hear this, but you know how chains break at the weakest link? It's a popular Killer mindset, tunnel and get the weakling out first to hurt the entire team. Not saying you're weak, but the rest of your team might be really good.
Sure thing

@StarLost said:
I don't get what you are angry about here. The killer decided that it was in their best interests to get you out of the game first. It sounds like he was chasing you, decided that you were an easier target than the Claudette and played accordingly.
If I see an AFK survivor, I'll usually leave them alone, as I don't know if they just temporarily stepped away to deal with a sudden phonecall or something.
More stuff

Something something
-
Survivors cannot vault or drop pallets for t seconds after using Dead Hard
-
Solo-q is already a "Squid Game" for me.
I can use perks and stealth to escape thru the hatch, sure; it's my "teammates" that become the real threat when they see me playing (within the rules) and break the rules to grief me.

Don't down the person with DS to begin with. Problem solved.
Oh, okay. I'll just let them stand in front of the hook until the survivor I'm carrying wiggles off. Why didn't I think of this sooner...
-
@R1ch4rd_N1x0n said:
Maybe try not tunneling then you won't gotta worry about it.
I'm trying NOT to tunnel by picking up the survivor who DOES NOT have their Decisive Strike active. The DS user threw themself at me to stop me from hooking someone else.
But let's use your logic... Survivors should have no right to complain about Ruin Undying anymore. Maybe they should try not stopping their gen repairs. Then they don't gotta worry about it.
-
This is also not working for me on XB1
-
Maybe there aren't enough sweaty killers to go around for these sweaty SWF's, so all of the SWF queues just get matched with any old killer just because they've been waiting too long?
This can't be the case though, because I get matched with sweaty killers as survivor, and I only solo queue (which means I'm mediocre at best, not sweaty)

Well, the first few days of sbmm, I was enjoying it. I was getting into mostly chill games as both survivor and killer. I happen to be a player that isn't all trat competitive, and mostly plays to chill. Well, that only lasted a few days. Now, no matter who I choose as killer, even as someone I don't normally play, I get put up against the sweaty, meta running swf that can have 10 gens done in one minute. And as a survivor, all my teammates are players picking up a controller for the first time against a sweaty, meta running killer! I know I am not the only one having this experience. Great job, BHVR. Great job. IU hope you are proud
This. Same.
It was good before. Almost great! What the fog happened??

Lightborn, you answered your own question and request with the solution or Franklin's Demise.
Also 120+ seconds to down a survivor? How many gens did you lose during this to request a stronger PGTW?
Doesn't matter how long I took to down them. If it took me more than 2 seconds to down them then flashligts are immediately unbalanced

A good reason to pick up the lament early is when you see it has spawned next to a generator. The killer patrols gens at the start. They will come across it and there will be a very early chain hunt. Not good to leave it.

The grades next to people's names have nothing to do with their MMR. My survivor matches are going just fine. I'm generally queued with equally skilled survivors and the killers haven't been terrible either. But I've never swfed, and I'm pretty sure that's what's causing all the trouble for people.
I only solo

@Barbarossa2020 said:
If you're playing off peak you'll get thrown into any game really.
In Australia, midday is like short surv queues, then when peak happens its short killer queues, then later on the swfs come out.
You're suggesting that only Ash, Bronze, and Silver survivors are queueing right now, and that only Irridescent killers are queueing? Because that's all I'm seeing match after match
-
I'm dying every single match today, and SBMM thinks this is a fair match??
I had new players for teammates against a very good killer (this was evident in how everyone was playing during the game, before I saw their Grades after the match).

Options. Change inputs.
You are welcome.
I am actually glad this is hapening a lot now because people will finally change their settings.
Are you going to buy me an Elite controller so I have some extra buttons to map it to, or do I have to unbind Sprint or Crouch?

@Mooks said:
If the survs and the killer were teaming up against you I hope you recorded it and reported them accordingly.
that said. I doubt this was happening as often so it leads to a 24h ban. You have clearly either disconnected too often before or you had crashed that lead to this. Either way, the reason why it starts at 5 min is because sometimes you have to dc (reallife issues, actual gamebreaking bugs, actual grieving etc) and then it would be unfair for the ban to be over.
edit: also take that clip down if it shows the survs teaming up with the killer. Or censor the names in the clip, as this falls under the ‚no naming & shaming rule‘ of the forums
"also take that clip down if it shows the survs teaming up with the killer. Or censor the names in the clip, as this falls under the ‚no naming & shaming rule‘ of the forums"
----
You can't see the killer's name in that clip, and that clip shows the killer cheating in a previous match, not the survivors teaming up against me.
-
I have had the opposite problem.
I thought, "hey, since I'm likely going on the hook at some point anyway, then I may as well try to be as hepful while on the hook as I can..."
- Kindred
- Open Handed
- Camaraderie
- Resurgence (or any perk of your choice)
It turned the game into a race to see who can get the unhook points first. Camaraderie was wasted every single time, since the rescuer would rather get points and trade. (Yet, anytime I'm not using Camaradeie, the (potential) rescuer thinks the best play is to loop the killer around my hook...)

@Power_Guy said:
It's to whoever finds it first when it is open.
And I disagree with being able to hide it; this benefits SWFs on voice comms so hard. Also; if the Survivors see the Killer hide it; can they unhide it? Can they interact with it? The devs would have to put random debris on the maps, or any pile of hatch-hiding debris would be like a giant, neon sign sayin 'Hatch is here!'
It would be a reverse Demo portal, where the hatch is vusubw until a player spends time interacting with it and then it (the hatch and and the debris covering it) would become invusubw.

Oh my gosh I got two shoutouts in this thread, I can't quote across thread pages but I saw you too @GeneralV
Thanks for the kind words! I feel sadly that I'm so bad with names that I can't think of anyone to shoutout for myself when on the spot. It's a shame ClownisKing got banned, he helped motivate me to play ######### killers.
It's tricky to pull off, but I'm quoting you (above) from Page 2 and quoting someone else (below) from Page 1

The only thing that feels off to me is getting my cake handed to me match after match as the killer, expecting it to get easier since I was clearly being mismatched, and it doesn't.
However, there are explanations for it (which would have applied regardless of whether I was matched based off of rank or "skill").
- The matchmaker is allowed flexibility from the start
- If my rating is 40 and I get matched with survivors who are within range (+/- 6), let's say 45, then it is likely I will have a challenging trial.
- If I lose to them, the system does not heavily decrease my rating since they were "better." (Had I beat them then my rating would have heavily increased since the win was not expected and I'm clearly at the wrong rating.)
- My rating, now at 39, allows me to get matched with survivors who are within range, say 45...
- It's too easy to stagnate and be stuck with tough match after tough match.
- Peak hours for survivor queue
- So many survivors queueing up that eventually they need a match and the Matchmaker becomes less picky and just throws poorly matched players together.
- Dodged lobbies get priority
- Survivors at my "rank" love to bring keys, maps, and flashies, and killers can see that stuff and dodge.
- Lobbies that are short a player will have looser restrictions on who can join, allowing for poor matching.
- The matchmaker is allowed flexibility from the start

Thats what the hatch is for. Survivors dont need endless chances.
Plus, most people wait at the gate and immediately start once the killer closes hatch trying to get enough time. Regressing doors, whether immediate or with a small delay, would not impact these situations at all.
I have missed the hatch and still escaped by employing 1 of these 2 methods:
- Min/Max
- Open the gate and stop just before the 1st light comes on
- Move away and hide
- Wait for the killer to come check and leave
- Finish opening the gate
- False Positive
- Get 1 light on the switch at Exit A
- Sneak away and run over to Exit B
- Fully open Exit B while the killer thoroughly searches Exit A
Both of these fall apart as soon as gate regression is implemented. Precious progress is lost and any stealthy play goes out the window if the killer sees sparks flying off the switch from regression because they'll know you're close
- Min/Max
-
It seems that slower killers keep their smaller radius while carrying 😌

@TripleSteal said:
Starstruck works in killer's TR rather than in a 32m radius from a killer, so naturally killers with smaller TR benefit less from this perk. Starstruck is affected by agitation and m&a (you usually see it paired with the first one).
For huntress, Starstruck works inside her TR and not her whole Lullaby zone.
All killers have the same carry speed though, so surely they should all have a 32m terror radius (without Agitation).
I just wanted confirmation, but any section in the forums other than General Discussions doesn't get as many eyes. Thought I could save myself time and effort, but I'll just go check the wikis
-
@KweenPlease said:
Why was it canceled? We can't do anything to cancel grabs that I know of. This sounds like entitlement.
I was close enough to a survivor that pressing the attack (not holding it for a lunge attack) would interrupt and grab them. However, they had Desparate Measures and their unhook action was sped up, so on their end they had already finished unhooking. The game had to weigh the two actions, mine and theirs, and it gave the survivor the go-ahead while I got the cancelled grab, which is now supposed to be converted into a hit (which it wasn't)
