Two reasons, imo.
- It just straight up is. Modern marketing is in your face, all the time. Can't blame them for playing the game.
- Cosmetics come out more regularly that updates, so they're posted about more often. Whoever runs the twitter will often answer questions, which is more than some other devs do, but I'd put this more on BHVR's slow update schedule even more so than marketing.
-
Even inter-dimensional unknowable enitites appreciate a good view.
-
God, I wish. At least half the killers I've played against within the last few days have been Chucky.
I don't mind him too much, but if I have to hear that charge scream one more time I'm gonna lose it.
-
Wiggling out is not supposed to be common occurance.
As for the camping measurements, I'm pretty sure even undetectable killers are supposed to make the unhook meter go up. If they aren't, that's a bug.
-
Yes, please.
I'm not talking about tactical slugging. That's fine. Slugging just to be a dickhead and waste time? That should definitely be removed in some way. Even if it's just a "kill self on ground" option.

For most perks, sure. But for WoO there's not really any clear indicator that you're going up against it. You'd notice perks like DH, SB, Adrenaline, UB, etc, because you can actually see them in play. With WoO, you'd never know if a person had the perk or was just familiar with the tiles.
That's fair. For WoO, I can kinda guess if they avoid broken pallets, but that may be comms or just good game sense. I do see it a lot in the endgame screen, but that may be confirmation bias.

How can WoO can be a problem? Just for able seeing the pallets and windows doesn't make you a loop god. DH? Activates twice in a game, gamble to use sometimes because of the delay. SB? Requires skill to play for to get value of it, it's not like that disgusting uncounterable perk called Ultimate Weapon. I guess you don't see the current situation of the game. This game is killer-sided, only thing can destroy killers is a cordinated sweaty SWF. Solo-Q is literally dumping ground, no-one gives a fly about it. The perks you told me are literally domitaning solo-q, why? Because of the gamble mmr and the teammates along with it, you can't do anything. You can't compare them
Did you miss the part where I said that doesn't mean perks have to get nerfed? The only thing I said was people don't like going against the same things all the time. I wasn't comparing them in terms of strength, either - Just how often I see them. Calm down, buddy. I didn't say a single thing about balance.
-
I want another straight up creaure, like Dredge (and Ig Singularity, but I like Dredge's design more).

@Avo said:
I don't understand people crying to nerf high usage perks.
Over-exposure. It get's boring to see and go against Pain Res and Pop every game, just like it get's boring to see and go against WoO, DH, SB - Whatever.
Doesn't mean they should get nerfed, but over-exposure does have a lot to do with it imo.
-
Because it's a perk you can turn your brain off to. It makes finding and connecting loops substantially easier.

I’ve noticed it when I was playing Tiffany as well. It’s definitely bugged or something.
Strange. Maybe Stealth is bugged? I know Myers isn't a stealth killer, at least not to the extent of the others, but I was using Dead Rabbit. Maybe that had something to do with it?

Buff: Decicive Strike has been changed to Orbital Strike. Press the Active Ability button to instantly disintergrate the Killer.

Not only that! I've legit played a match as Xeno, when I downed Meg the chase music didn't end, I thought I'm in a chase with someone else, but I've seen nothing on their HUD, I hooked her, gone into tunnels and the chase music were still playing until I actually gone into another chase.
Besides, fresh scratchmarks were literally appearing and dissapearing right in front of me! It was really weird and annoying.
Well, I haven't run into anything that weird - Just chases not starting. Both cases it was with stealthy killers, so I'm wondering if that has something to do with it.
-
@Crowman said:
Wraith can't start chases while cloaked
Trust me, I am very aware of that. I used to main Wraith, before moving onto Demo and Wesker. I should have specified - While I was uncloaked. Fully out of invis. It was weird - Happened all game.
-
Gideon is one of those maps I just sigh and prepare for a ######### match. Maybe it's all the pallets, but I swear Killers are ten times more likely to tunnel off hook and Survivors just pre-drop. terrible map.
-
Honestly, really depends on the License holder (I would imagine, anyways.)
I can see us getting one for Ghostface, seeing as how they seem to have a pretty good relationship with them, but I'm a bit doubtful on a lot of the older ones. And I very much doubt we'll ever get one for Freddy, unfortunately.

You needed 4 irri amblems before if i don't remember wrong but her power was makes to get 4 irri so hard. Really hard i mean.
But now, all you need to do is killing 4 survivors. So it's pretty easy now.
Oh, really? Thanks for the info! I had no idea. Must have been changed during one of my breaks.

Have you tried Plague before they changed killer adepts?
It was painful.
Plague remains to be one of the killers I don't have adept with. I didn't know they changed adepts though - What did they do?
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Try Onis adept. He has the worst perks for a adept. Chuckys adept suffers from lack of Gen control but he has at least 1 good perk to work with. Also try going to the game. The batteries included gets more value on a double story map and he is a pallet strong killer
You think Oni is bad? At least he has Blood Echo, which can be alright.
Wraith's perks do literally fuckall for him in game.

Ohhhhh
my mistake! I never noticed that was in the description
I always thought it removed the progress instantly instead of the current progress (and I didn’t even know how the current progress thing worked)
No problem!

It's also the FPS.
It is FAR easier to react with 60, much less 120, frames than with 30 or less.
Also very true. I don't know if it's better on PS5/Series X, since I only played on PS4, but the performance on the PS4 was pretty terrible.

Honestly they should’ve buffed perks only and they could try to find better alternatives to lowering a perks pickrates rather than nerfing it
I’m still worried if any unnecessary nerfs happen to unproblematic perks just because they have a high pickrates
and on top of that the update was flawed but they did a few good things but maybe buffing perks only could make people start using different perks
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3598865#Comment_3598865
Isn’t new pop like 30% progress removed from a gen (original pop was 25%)
30% of the current progress. Old Pop took 25% flat out.
So, if the gen is at 50%, Pop only takes 15% of the total progress. If the gen is at, like, 80% it would tae around 25%

I always respect the glyph, to the point if I down somebody when they start it, I let them wiggle off.
Unfortunately, I haven't met a single killer recently willing to let me get a glyph.

I am not a console player so i am curious. Why is it, that consol players have a disadvantage?
I know you weren't asking me, but as a former console player, it's definitely the disparity between keyboard and controller. At least in my experience, the game is way easier to play on keyboard and mouse. A joystick just doesn't have the same accuracy that a mouse does.
It's not super noticable on non-ranged killers, but I find it far easier to actually look around with a mouse.
-
I wouldn't say Pop is back to it's prime. It's definitely a pretty good perk, but nowhere near as good as it was - unless used on nearly complete generator, ofc.
And we don't know what they'll be doing to DS, but I very much doubt they'll revert it to it's prime. Probably just put it back at 5 seconds.
-
Taking a quick look in the game reveals that the CryptTV skins can also be bought with shards, so... I really don't know tbh.
-
If a Survivor does something cute or one of their teamates is either AFK, game-ended themselves on hook, or just hiding all game. I prefer to play in a more chill, memey way most of the time. I have more fun with that than trying to win my hardest.
-
Maybe Naughty Bear is a special case, seeing as he's a returning character from an old BHVR game? Who knows. A good portion of the other legendary skins (or whatever the hell they're called now) are for licensed characters, so they can't be bought with shards.

@Avo said:
So they nerfed everything about survivors and it's time to nerf the movement of survivors too? 360 is always a thing, what do guys wants us to do, just stand still and give a free hit?
You'll probably still be able to 360 bad killers, calm down. The movement isn't getting nerfed, they're literally just adding an FOV slider - a thing that's pretty damn common in first person games.
-
Survivor is definitely weaker than it used to be. What are you on about?
-
Pretty bad IMO, but Streetwise is a little better.
There are just better options, imo. Built to Last and Franklin's Demise serve similar purposes, but are just straight up better.
-
I think this is the first time I have ever seen ANYONE complain about this phrase. It can't be serious.

I did have a brief conversation with Reinami(?) who thinks it might be related to the orbital strike tech. If that's the case I'd hope BHVR would simply make changes to limit it's use, rather than change Huntress. I did enjoy watching OhTofu going for orbital strikes though.
Yeah, I'm not sure how you nerf it. Iri Head and Pinkie Finger have both been nerfed previously, and it didn't stop hook camping. So they will probably rework it into something else if they make changes to it. I'm still hoping Clown gets an add-on that spawns fake chests that release Clown gas. That would be amazing.
I can't even remember the last time I got orbital striked lol. I mean, currently, if a Huntress is face-camping (or clown), shoouldn't the Surv get the free unhook? Unless it's Endgame, but according to BHVR, it's fine and fair to camp then.
Whatever they do to her, I hope they don't ######### with her too much. Other than her hit-boxes, I have a really good time playing against Huntress, even if i die. I can't play as her for #########, but I also hope they keep her fun to play. BHVR has a tendency to over-nerf killers.

No his interaction works like Oni, it doesn't stop him from running.
Ah, well I do know Oni. Makes sense.
-
I haven't had much issue with it yet. but that may be because I've only palyed against Chucky with it, and Vigil is one of my go-to perks, and as far as I've noticed, Vigil affects the exposed status timer.

Built in feature and unintended interactions are different, blight SLAM walls, he doesn't hug them, chucky can because they made it that way.
I was under the impression Chucky would run straight into the wall without sliding unless the player performed the hug tech. I haven't played Chucky though, so I'm only judging off videos. If that's not the case, then hopefully they'll adress it.

When I saw Clown and Huntress I assumed they were going after the insta-down add-ons. Seeing as they are used to hook camp.
Fair point, but again, not sure how they could make it any worse/different. It's downside is already a pretty big one, imo. Maybe rework it to be something else, but I doubt a nerf.
-
Considering Chucky can do the same kind of stuff... I doubt it.
-
I mean, this how it always goes, isn't it?
He's certainly strong, and I can't say all the complaints are invalid, but it's always going to be worse the first few days. Personally, I've always given it a week or two before I try and gauge a killer's balance. I've died more times to him than I've won, but there have also been a few games where I utterly kicked that little #########'s ass.
I'm pretty sure BHVR will give it a week or two, unless someone finds a tech that makes him busted or something.
-
@CatnipLove said:
What are the odds it's just a nerf to Iri Head for Huntress?
How could they? It's already pretty bad, IMO, unless you're a god Huntress.
Even if you were a god Huntress, wouldn't it be way better to have all your hatchets?
-
I mean, any killer that calls me a pisshead is one I'm gonna have trouble taking seriously. I still love the little ######### though.
-
I'm pretty sure when I watched some footage of the PTB, you had to aim at where Chucky was to save. So, like, at Charle's knees.
I may be totally wrong though.
Edit: I am wrong.

Do survivors have any perks or ways to avoid it at all?
Not really, no. The trade-off is that it's not really precise as aura reading, or it doesn't last much. The killer with it the longest is Legion, I think, since it goes as long as his power does.
-
Sadako or Hag, easy.
-
Hiding prestige would be more for the lobby dodges, at least that's what I think. Most of the time, killers will dodge out of a lobby if the prestige of any of the survivors are too high for easy games.

Well thats unfortunate because thats the thing that makes killer so oppressive in chase. Now 2 weeks will pass and we won't even know how he really feels because of the bug making him much stronger than he is and making people ask for more nerfs than are needed
Eh? I think the missed attack CD is definitely making it feel more powerful than it really is, but the fact does remain that Xeno can still feel pretty oppressive even if the bugged CD doesn't come into effect.

Well, Wesker does only have seven minutes.
-
God, these bots are getting realistic.
-
Personally, I would rather they just adjust XP and the rate a player get's shards rather than toss some more useless offerings into the Bloodweb.
