I can't believe people hate the fact that he's third person so much.
I don't want to go back to old Blight POV, thank you.

It takes 4 minutes to bleed out as it is now, but i have also had games as a killer where i had no other option than to slug
I'm aware - I'm saying after 2 minutes total of being slugged, give the survivor the choice to bleed themselves out faster. The killer still gets the kill, the game just ends faster.
-
@Rudjohns said:
of course, everything needs to be killer sided
why not:
-If all survivors are in the dying state or on the hook, survivors can pick themselves up
-When there are 2 survivors left in the game, they both can pick themselves up anytime
The developers consider slugging to be a valid tactic, and this would punish the killer for doing well.
If the killer manages to kill my team, fine, whatever - I'm fine with losing. Just don't make me wait.

It would be abused like crazy, just look at how survivors litterly DC every second game or so.

It would have to be for very specific circumstances, like more than two slugged players and after a certain amount of time has passed so it's not an instant "give up" option.
This, exactly. I'm not asking for a button to concede the mere moment I'm downed. Something after a total of 2 minutes being slugged, something like that.
-
That's not a terrible idea, though I haven't seen NOED very much this past year or so.
In that case, though, would it be considered a scourge hook perk? This version being a Hex would make the perk pretty bad, imo.
-
@BrightWolf said:
I would love for a concede option for when more than one person is on the ground and the killer is just slugging because they can.
That, or the multiple times where I'm slugged all four minutes because the killer either can't find or catch the other survivor.
The killer has already won. A singular person maybe getting the hatch doesn't make them lose, especially if 4 gens are still up. Just let me die so I can go next.
-
@Venusa said:
But you don't understand... If the Killer doesn't get a 4k they won't be able to feed their family. Have some empathy.😭
You're right. Especially durting these holiday times... What's wrong with me?
-
Because holding m1 on a gen for 90 seconds would be extremely boring without them.

@Xernoton said:
Sure, they could do more with him. But let's be honest, a rocket launcher or flamethrower? How would you implement something like that? Imagine, if he were to use a rocket launcher on a Feng Min and all that happens is that she loses a health state. Same with a flamethrower. In order for that not to look ridiculous, you'd need to have that as an insta kill mechanic and judging by Tombstone Piece, I don't think many players will like that.
Punching holes into walls, while fun in theory, would have a similar issue. Who decides which walls you can break through? Make it any wall, and no window on the map can delay him anymore. Make it only breakable walls and this becomes useless because you won't break most of them anyway.
It would be nice to see something more for Nemi, but unless someone actually has an idea how to do it without it either overpowered or useless, I can't say I blame them for not going there.
I don't know a lot about Resident Evil, but a lot of Resi Evil fans have suggested that he have a sprint or movement ability.
I think my only main issue with that suggestion is we already have plenty of killers with a spriint. What could they do to make it unique, and not just feel like a re-hash of Oni or Billy. Then again, Nemesis isn't super important to me, so I'm not sure it's fair for me to judge any of his
In general, I think it's really hard to make lore-accurate versions of some of the killers. Chucky is easy - He's just a little ######### in a dolls body. Sadako, as far as I understand, does some insane ######### in her expanded lore - To the point if they wanted to make her accurate, she'd be overpowered.

Xenomorph is on all 4 legs for the majority of a match..
But it can still stand up as bipedal and has a roughly humanoid stature.
It is nothing it at all like a spider.
-
Not sure if it counts, but I bring Mad Grit a lot without any other carrying perks.
I just think it's funny.
-
They've definitely been branching out in their killer design (visual wise) so we could definitely get something more insect like, maybe. All the killers we've gotten so far have still been bi-pedal, the only major non example being dredge - But even then, he has two arms and a head.
Edit: And obvioulsy Chucky, but he's just a tiny human. A spider would be something completely different, and unlike Xeno, it couldn't stand up in a bipedal mode.

I see. For me, I straight up just lost my favorite character. The first of many things I lost in this game because they slowly got removed.
But maybe the tide will change. Not only for Freddy (though hopefully he will come first), but also for the game around him. I know the request for a classic mode / pack gained a bit of popularity recently, so who knows?
There might be a chance here.
I would love a classic mode. While I don't miss their loops, I still miss the classic hues of the original maps. They looked so much nicer.
I would also love a return of Classic Freddy. I can't say I would play him a lot, I simply prefer killers with dashes or movement abilities, but the state he's in now is a travesty. Bland, uninteresting, and a far cry of what one of the most recognizable Slasher names deserves.

Hello, Nomi! It is good to see you, old friend. It has been a while.
I remember the day that rework dropped. That was easily my worst day of playing DBD. My love for Old Freddy will never change.
And yes, current Freddy doesn't have anything going for him. I still play him because I like the character, but he feels awful. It seems the developers are aware of this, and will change him at some point. What they are doing with Sadako is giving me hope, as dangerous as it is to have hope.
And honestly, I wouldn't mind if we got Robert Englund's Freddy, as long as Jackie's Freddy isn't removed.
Good to see you again!
I was excited back then - But only because i thought it would be more interesting at the time. I disliked the fact that Freddy as basically an m1 killer without anything else other than pulling survivors into his world.
I still enjoyed Jackie's performance, but I'll always appreciate the classics.
-
I remember, when the Freddy rework very first came out, I actually liked it more than old Freddy - but I was a different player back then.
Old Freddy was incredibly unique and he fit the NOES franchise perfectly. current Freddy is one of my top 5 least favorite killers in the game. Not because I find him too strong or anything, but because he's so damn boring.
I also happen to know we disagree on this, but I dream of a day where we see Robert Englund Freddy in the game, voicelines and all.
-
I only ran it while I was trying to get Chucky's adept. Activated it in two of the games, and it didn't seem to do anything. I saw a survivor bump into a doorway briefly, so I guess they lost a bit of distance, but there was another window nearby so it didn't matter.
-
I might actually try him now. Haven't played him in a while, and the changes looked pretty bad.

Of course it’s gonna be bad from killer mains. But if BHVR decided it was too strong in endgame, how is it not too strong still?
So, if I remember correctly, they announced the nerf when they released the changes from the PTB. That was before the chapter came out. People said they didn't like the change, but didn't have the chance to actually test it.
The day the chapter came out, they announced they were going to revert the change. This wasn't a 'killer main' thing, this was BHVR. Don't make it into a us vs them thing, it's needless and just going to make this hostile.
If the perk proves to be too strong, they'll change it again.
-
Feedback from the nerf was immediately bad. At least that's what I remember, they announced it basically the day the Chucky DLC came out.

The idea was even before Lery rework, and Lery early reworked was really dark (other realms too).
Fresh Lery reworked
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/M2SVP7AI09VH/image.png
Lery now, much brighter.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/WKJEVLHV2831/image.png
Glowing would be so useful back then, but I dont feel it worths a perk slot now.
That's fair. In general, the game has gotten brighter - But I'm not sure what they could make Shadowborn do. All of Wraith's perks are about tracking, and there's not much more they could do in terms of tracking perks.

That white glow? That'd be cool.
My gut feeling says Monitor & Abuse get increased and decreased terror radius depending on the amount of generators are repaired so -2m terror when not in chase or +2m terror radius during a chase after 1 gen is repaired for example.
Ooh, god, I hope not. Monitor is a pretty good perk already imo, and with the FOV changes, I personally only think it needs the FOV part taken out.
Shadowborn, I have no earthly idea. The glowing idea is neat, though.
-
This would make it so you only see good Blights, and that sounds aboslutely terrible.
I don't see a single reason why Blight needs to be 110. The only thing that makes him unbalanced is his add-ons.

Of course. There are some weirdos out there who report anything. Tunneling, camping, bodyblocking (both sides btw.), using strong Loops (got once reported for using Balanced Landing on Disturbed Ward...) and many other things.
For some the Report-Button is just some form of frustration release.
I've been reported for all sorts of things - mainly the things you listed - but it was all years ago. I guess I just assumed people realized that reporting that stuff didn't work.
-
What killer were you playing? There are a fair few killers at this point that kind of negate looping, or at the very lesat make pallets next to useless. If they're at all decent, anyways.
Still an incredibly boring playstyle, but DbD in general has seemed incredibly boring lately.
-
Couple days ago, I played against three Skull Merchants in a row. One of which wouldn't hook me when I wanted to go next after two others game-ended themself on hook. Just slugged me and tried to find the last person.
Funny how people play her for easy wins and then refuse to take them.
-
This still happens? Damn.
-
I haven't gone down to FTTE a single time. I don't think it's really all that good, personally.
-
Poor perfromance indeed...
-
BHVR will never, ever punish people for playing with friends. Which, yes. giving them a penalty would do that. This is a multiplayer game, first and foremost. Imagine any other game imposing some sort of disadvantage just becasue you're playing with your friends? I'm not saying SWF doesn't give an advantage - it does, but it would do the same in any other game. Playing with your friends is always gonna be better than playing with a bunch of randos. However, most of the time, you don't even know you're playing against a SWF, because this game is mostly casual.
This has been talked about for as long I've been apart of this community, and the answer is always no - BHVR won't do anything about it. If people playing with their friends bothers you so much, you shouldn't be playing multiplayer games.
-
While I agree the perks are most of the time a little lack-luster, I think the idea of obsession perks is important themetically. While BHVR have evolved from just basic slashers as their killers, the idea of a sadistic/evil thing being obsessed with you is creepy. It fits incredibly well into the theming and vibe of the game, imo.
-
I'll never forget that one time I actually downed a Nic Cage because he got exposed from this perk. Just for the utter disbelief that caused to both me an him, I'll always love this perk.
-
I'm genuinely baffled by their treatment of Freddy. I know his license is weird, or at least it was the last time I remember hearing about it, but Freddy Kreuger is one of the top 3 iconic slasher villains.
Maybe one day we'll get that Robert Englund voice and look, but I doubt it.
-
I haven't had any people like that, but I have had a fair few that just hide all game while they did gens, and only focused on gens. No hook saving or anything.
-
At this point, let's just not give Survivors any perks at all! Apaprently they aren't allowed to have any.

How would you nerf her camping ability without adversely affecting her power?
No clue. Maybe give her a penalty if she's near the hook, clearly camping. They might ot touch her ability to camp, who knows. I'm just tired of all the over dramatizing.
Also, i wanted to apologize if I came across as agressive - I've had a bad day and took it out on the forums.

If you want to parse words, they never said Huntress is getting a “little tweak.”
That said you are taking vague PR wording over a proven track record which you choose to ignore. A disaster indeed.
I just don't care as much as you do. Killers certainly aren't these huge victims, and they're probably just touching her camping ability. I just prefer to see what they do before having a mental breakdown over a video game character. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong - but it certainly isn't a disaster, it's a couple pixels on a screen.
I'm just tired of everybody caring so much. This game used to be fun.

Would you have said the same thing about Trickster a couple months ago? He just got some number changes despite an incredible nerf.
Best predictor of what BHVR will do is what they have done before, the more recent the more informative.
No, because they said Tricker as getting more than just a 'little tweak."
This forum and it's disaster complex, jesus.
-
BHVR already said that the 'tweaks' just mean number changes, nothing major. I very, very much doubt she'll be made 115%
-
Easiest form of powerful Gen regression. And the last meta shake-up barely did anything, BHVR just aren't very good at it imo. They nerfed self care of all perks.

I was looking for this comment before I'd say it, myself. I would LOVE for this. Easter Eggs abound.
Glad to see a fellow Shining enjoyer! In a perfect world, it would be the lobby and bit outside - hopefully including the maze.
-
You still have to sneak over to the trap, which still wastes a lot of time. It's quicker than disarming bear traps and demo traps because you can't even walk near them without them getting triggered.
I don't see why not for the updated add-ons, though. Maybe they could replace her lesser used add-ons, or something.
-
Cool Whispers. I wasn't sure, thanks for the info.
-
The Overlook Hotel.
I know Indoor maps are notriously terrible, but still. I would love to wander through the Overlook. One of the most iconic horror locations, as far as I'm concerned.
Unfortunately, I don't think The Shining would work well as a chapter.

This.
I'll never the one moment back in 2018 where I asked a friend of mine how to counter Legion and he responded with a simple:
"You don't".
That's the neat part!

God, I haven't thought about release legion in years. He was objectively terrible for the game, I think you're alone in missing him.
