I honestly think you'd have a heart attack if you played in 2017.
Killers today would probably die instantly if they saw release MoM.
-
Unfortunately, no matter the game, it's going to attract players that just want to be a dickhead.
-
Solo Queue is the most OP killer in the game.
-
I like Otz well enough, but the longer I've played, the less I agree with him.
His hyper- competitive outlook on the game is the epitome of unfun.
-
Tbf, I guess, BHVR isn't responsible for how the community acts in or out of game.
I don't really think BHVR wants the game to be competitive/e-sports (unless they've said it recently and I missed it). Nic Cage's silly perks and inclusion tell me they aren't taking themselves too seriously.
I personally think DbD has always had a serious issue of balance V fun, and an even bigger issue where one sides fun usually means the other side is having an utter ######### time. Not all the time, I've had a few games where all parties had fun, but they're few and far in-between.

They are a failed concept. Just like boons.
When was the last time we saw a boon perk? March 2022 with Sadako. It’s been a year and a half and we haven’t gotten one new boon perk at all. it seems like BHVR has just flat out gave up and stopped making boon and teamwork perks
Tbf, SM's chapter is one of the more recent ones. There's only been one chapter since then, with Alien about to come out. We've seen gaps like that with other perk types before.
Boons feel like a gimmick quickly dropped.
-
I forgot Boons existed, I'm not gonna lie.

I'm a straight guy, so I didn't fully understand (though, of course, I supported it) why things like representation mattered so much when I was younger, but it was reading things like this post that helped me understand.
Congratulations, and hopefully you can come out to those closest to you without judgment.
I'll say it for everyone: We're rooting for you :)

Just get rid of the Endurance on MFT. It doesn't make sense for the perk and then reevaluate in a couple months.
C33, Alc Ring and both Speed addons need adjusting. Rat and Crow shouldn't stack, imo and C33 and Alc Ring need new effects.
The Enduranc feels like an after-thought. That effect is almost good enough for a perk-slot on it's own, I really can't comprehend why they would add it to MFT.

I feel like blight gets a lot of really unfair hits that make playing against him very difficult to understand. I would like to see his bumping be a lot more consistent. A lot less sliding and a lot more everything causes you to bump correctly. I know people get mad when a "tech" is removed, but blight has the ability to kill half of the loops in the game by sliding/hug tech.
I agree in that Blight could use some updated collisions. I've slid off things that looked no different to something I've bounced off of, and yeah, the techs could probably use looking at. Other than that, I think his Base-kit is totally fine. Hell, i think it's practically near pefect. It''s a strong power, but it leaves room for counterplay.
They just ######### it up with the add-ons, per the usual.
-
Completely different. "You can't find [blank] OP if you [blank]." argument doesn't work most of the time because the comparison's are nowhere near the same.
Both are problematic in some ways. Both can be talked about, even by those filthy MFT users.

I think in blights case he has so many crazy addons that maybe its the killer baseline that needs changes. They have mentioned baseline changes to him in the past. Why waste time changing addons if you plan on changing him, that's my thoughts on why blight sees no addon nerfs.
I hope that's not the case. Basekit wise, I think Blight is absolutely fine. I really hope they don't Billy him.
-
@Biscuits said:
I have a theory that developers really only test and play killers and don't really understand how bad survivor feels right now. We hardly ever see killer nerfs even in egregious cases of broken perks or powers. Its just buffs buffs buffs and then Otz talks about it and they finally fix it.
Idk, I feel like Otz has talked about Blight needing add-on nerfs quite a bit.

Maybe it is so, but it just feels to work so random.
That might just be BHVR's spaghetti coding.
-
@Triplehoo said:
I don't know if it is so, because at least when I'm trying to get away when in dying state, I can't get rid of the one who's healing. And not to mention that everytime they try to heal, you're stopped for a millisecond. Do that couple of times during trying to get to exit gates and you're screwed
Holding whatever button it is you use to run should stop that from happening. Shift on PC, pretty certain it's L1 on PS4/PS5, and logic tells me it's probably LB on Xbox.
Weird if it isn't doing the same for you, been that way for as long as I can remember. Can't count how many times I've accidentally pressed shift when somebody was healing me with sloppy, and all that healing just goes away...
-
I thought holding the run button on whatever platform you're on does exactly that?
I'm pretty sure holding shift works on PC, not sure why it wouldn't on the other platforms. With the right button, of course.
-
While I agree that we should buff weak things, things that are too strong still need to get changed. An overtuned build is fun for you, sure, but BHVR needs to worry about more than just one player.
That being said, BHVR doesn't seem to know how to nerf things most of the time without making them garbage most of the time.
-
Solo Queue is a wasteland filled with hate and suffering. It feels really bad lately, worse than before.
-
Trapper and Mikey are my top picks for buffs. They feel the most left behind out of all the killers. (I may also be hoping some buffs to Myers would see the eradiaction of Tobstone Piece.)
Skull Merchant just needs a straight up rework. Still waiting to see that Twins rework.
-
Honestly, I have no idea. Poor Demodog is already the only killer you can't buy anymore, it seems weird BHVR would nerf him like this.
-
Honestly, I think a Supernatural Paragraph could work out alright. I've got mixed feelings about the show, but I like the characters enough.
I will always want a Scooby Doo paragraph though. If we can get Nic Cage and AoT in this game, we can get the mystery inc. gang - even just as skins, or something.
-
While I don't agree, their reasoning was that the 'visual hearbeat' aspect of the perk is now more or less basekit. I never used that version of Spine Chill, so I can't say whether it was better than the visual heartbeat.
Way back in the it's original nerf patch, Spine Chill got changed simply because it was meta, and the only purpose of that patch was to change the meta.
-
I think it depends. Tunnelling at 5 gens can feel pretty unfair, but at lower gens it can feel like the only way to secure a kill.
It definitely isn't very fun, which I think is important, but DbD seems to be stuck in an endless loop of "One side winning = Other side hacing a ######### time."
@Kaitsja said:

Survivors don't have another objective. It's either do gens, or do nothing. You can't undo a hook state, but you can undo gen progress. I think it's weird that people are more concerned with winning than they are with actually having a fun, enjoyable experience.
Genrushing is boring, tunneling is boring. Both suck the fun out of the game and ruin the experience for the other party.
This, in a nutshell. People are so stuck up their own ass about winning that they do everything possible to have the most effecient, boring game possible. I don't get it.
-
It reminds me back of when I started playing on PC. My literal first match as Killer, I was up against Red ranks who were clearly also not new to the game. I had two perk slots, they had all 4 with meta.
I think I got a 2k, but that was because I had 1200~ hours at that point on another system. There was no way for my PC account to know that, though. If I was an actual new player, I don't think I would've wanted to play again.
-
Cool?

I think you're forgetting about one Mr. Candyman in terms of classic horror.
In terms of Indie Horror, I think it's a gamble for BHVR business wise. Licenses are (assumingly) expensive, and they have to be assured they'd make that money back. Capitalism!
As I said before, in a perfect world I would love a Bloodborne chapter. While not full on horror, I'd say it's just as horror if not more than something like Stranger Things. Father Gascoigne is a perfect candidate imo, but I sincerely doubt that would EVER happen.

perception is fascinating to me, it shows that we get something drawn to our attention and then we tend ot focus on that. It's why as humans we are more likely to remember negative experiences rather than the positive or focus more on the negative ones at least.
That's a pretty good point. I wouldn't say I dislike either perk more, but Sprint Burst is definitely used in my face more.
-
Somewhat surprised to see more Lithe than Sprint Burst. I feel like I see Sprint Burst way more often than I do lithe.

I offer the advice I do to help people learn, instead of knee jerk calling everything OP in early days. The more people adapt, the better solo q becomes. This happens every time a killer requires any secondary objective, and people eventually (mostly) adapt.
Good for you. That is a genuinely helpful thing to do for the community.
The only thing is, a small population of the games player base is on the forums. Telling people to "just grab tapes lol" is not going to reach a substantial amount of the player base, and is never going to reach my teammates, especially when the game itself does such a ######### job at even explaining how to counter specific killers.
I already knew and know how to play against Sadako. The MAJORITY of players are having an issue against hers. That is an issue.
Again, just have a good day. You aren't going to change my mind, and I'm not going to change yours.
-
@Ryuhi said:

It doesnt happen because everyone would rather complain than take a damn tape. We're going in circles.
As for the Iri addon, it doesnt change the fact that she needs to smack each person once to get rid of their tape. Its not about turning it in as much as it is being a talisman protecting you from passive condemn gain. You only need to turn it in if you're at 4+ stacks. She's still an M1 killer at the end of the day, so loop her better if youre losing too many tapes.
Give me a world where a solo queue team is coordinated, all near a TV when they turn on, the Sadako isn't near one of those survivors when they grab a tape, or where half the team doesn't grab tapes and I'll believe you.
Only issue is, you will never be able to. Condemn Sadako is entirely too powerful against Solo Queue, and there is not a single thing you can say that will change my mind. I cannot control the other players, I cannot make them stop "complaining" and neither can you. If you wanna keep arguing for an easy kill playstyle, go ahead, but it's clear we're not going to come to any sort of constructive agreement, so I'm done.
Have a good day.

tvs turn on at the same time at the start. it takes zero coordination for all 4 to grab a tape at the same time.
Show me a game where that happens and I'll agree with you.
In every game I've played against her, that does not happen.
Not only that, that counter is thrown out the window if she has Iri Tape.

You always did well before because she was F tier and extremely bad. Without her condemn she is bad in every aspect that makes a good killer good. If we nerfed her condemn she would need massive buffs around the board.
Then give her buffs to her chase power. Make her more interesting than "Teleport to TV, slug, teleport to TV."

if all 4 survivors grab a tape at the same time, how does comb help? The issue is from the lack of survivors adapting holding back the ones who do, just like it is with her in general. Its early days and the people in the back arent quite getting it yet, or worse, refusing to adapt.
She chooses one, and what team of Solo Queue teamates are going to grab the tapes at the same time? Not one. You're right, Sadako's main issue is Solo Queue, which is the a majority of the games playerbase.
I have not seen a singel Sadako with those add-ons lose. Content Creators have gotten 4Ks with that build with one hand.
It makes her incredibly easy to play and get kills with against a majority of the Survivor playerbase. That is unhealthy, and anybody who can't see it is clearly biased.
Basekit, she is absolutely fine, perhaps even still weak. These add-ons should not be miles better than her rest. They enforce a boring, long game. It is not fun to get slugged over and over or scramble around the map constantly picking up your teamates.
-
@Blueberry said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3502928#Comment_3502928
No, those addons are fine. Comb is even overrated. Those addons aren’t stopping you from getting a tv.
No, they are not fine. Comb takes all the guesswork away from Sadako, and just tells her where the survivor with a tape is. Iri Tape removes her biggest counter. It's really not that hard to follow a Survivor with a tape and just teleport to the TV they're running towards. So yes, they are stopping you from getting a TV.
-
@Blueberry said:
- Pick up tape at start
- Hold tape while doing gens
- Win
Most groups are dying because they either don't pick up a tape till it's too late or they spend all game running tapes back and forth which is the wrong way to do it. You just want to grab it and then hold onto it. She's a basic m1 killer that is extremely loopable. People shouldn't be getting condemned unless they're ignoring the mechanic or suck at looping a basic m1 killer. I've been spamming her all day the last couple days and like 95% of groups do either 1 of those two things wrong which is why they get condemned. When they actually play properly it's a close game. You can't just play against her like old Sadako and not respect her condemn.
Your entire counter is thrown out the window if she has Iri Tape or Mother's Comb, or even worse, both.
@Blueberry said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3502918#Comment_3502918
No but you should be able to find one tape in the entire time it takes you to get full condemn, that would have been a very significant time you spent running around.
Again, not true at all if she has Iri Tape or Mother's Comb, which - Shocker - All Sadako players spam for easy condemn kills.
-

They all run those type of addones and perks that will reveal your location, making it impossible for you to get a tape and succesfully put it in a tv.
Exactly. I don't think people would complain so much if Sadako's didn't spam these add-ons.
I think Basekit she's absolutely fine, but BHVR clearly doesn't know how to balance add-ons, at all.

That's not true. I got haste bonus 5 out of 8 times. The other one was a scream. Twice I got exposed.
I know it's supposed to be like that. It even says that in the actual perk description.
If you're getting the same effects twice in a row, the perk is bugged.
-
Just bad luck. I'm pretty sure the only failsafe the perk has is not letting the same effect happen twice in a row.
-
The most thrilling Bubba match.

@Ryuhi said:

It takes 4 tape hits to condemn someone, and she's not tunneling them if she's teleporting to various places on the map. If your tape breaks just grab another.
This is the part where you come up with some complaint to justify why thats not possible, because you refuse to adapt. If not, apologies in advance.
Basekit Sadako is fine imo.
Iri Tape and Mother's Comb are clearly problematic. Mother's Comb provides too much information, and Iri Tape just removes her main counter. I have not seen a single Sadako with these add-ons lose.
-
Literally just had a Sadako who did nothing but slug with Knockout, spam her teleport, then tunnel the hell out of whoever get's condemned first.
She did not pick up once.
What a fun, healthy experience!
-
Oh, that starts today? Dammit, BG3 comes out today.
Guess I'm not playing the event.
-
Gone, but not forgotten.
-
I've seen a few killers straight up camping bots, which seems odd to me. They're pretty bad at everything other than chase, basically a useless player.
-
Predator is a definite imo. Maybe not soon, but a definite. Candyman and Pennywise are maybes. FNaF, I think, has no chance. I personally hope it never gets in. The Grudge seems like a 'eh' chance, considering we have Sadako. Yes, I know they're different in a lot of ways, but Sadako was the bigger name out of the two, and the Grude (from what I remember) is a lot more of a typical ghost. I may be wrong though, I don't know much about her. I would love Jason, but his creators can't get over their petty differences, so we may never see him.
My personal big dream chapter is a Bloodborne chapter. I'd personally say it's way more horror than some of the other licenses we have. Unfortunately, I very sincerely doubt this would ever happen.
-
Well, we aren't getting the Xeno Queen, and she's the only one who can really lay eggs (as far as I recall, there might be something I'm misremembering).
I'd guess that the Xenomorph will have something stealth based, which can be just as worrisome imo. The last stealth killer we got was Sadako, and look how that's turned out. Another guess is probably something similar to Demo, with an extended dash/lunge. Maybe with the ability to hop onto a wall and jump off of it? The Xeno's are known for crawling all over #########, who knows.
-
Honestly, I'm happy they're straying away from the typical humanoid killer. I thought Demo would be our only monster for the longest time.
