I think it depends on the players. For me, I win if I have fun. Maybe that's looping the killer for two minutes, maybe that's me making multiple smart plays as a certain killer. It all depends on the day and match.
For these players, maybe winning is more important to them, but I wouldn't stress it. As long as your playstyle isn't intentionally toxic (Which I presume it's isnt as you're showing care for the other side) then I wouldn't worry too much about if they had fun or not. You should focus on your own fun and play how you want.
Basically, the meaning of fun is unique to each of us. For some its winning, for others its playing perfect and not any less than that, and for some its just play good, regardless of how it ends.

Only one of my 6 or 7 games tonight felt extremely close.
However, all the other games (except one of them) felt like they were just missing the mark, with them either being a bit too balanced in my favour or the survivors favour.
I'd be up for more of this to see if its consistent or not.
-
So why did you decide to be stupid and trade heals in the middle of the open? If anything, you're at fault. You shouldve seen she was already crawling away.
-
The game helps me deal with stress, which pushes me to do my best. Win win situation.
-
I've seen this happen once, and yes it does appear to the killer. If they were to open the locker you would have been inside it as if nothing had happened and they'd have grabbed you.
Seems like an annoying bug to have occur tbh.
-
Scott himself said he doesn’t want to do crossovers this year but rather focus on his current games.

we have stridor as direct counter to iron will, so why not 30-40s exhaustion mindbreaker
Because with stridor and IW, it still has the 50% noise. Iron will isn’t completely useless with it. Mindbreaker at 30-40 seconds on the other hand is practically making any exhaustion perk useless.

almost all of them. But i try to avoid Nurse, Spirit, Freddy, Hag, Huntress
The perk isn’t great on every killer, but the killers it’s best on would be killers that have range or hide their TR, other killers it’s not as good on, but there isn’t a direct counter to everything on everyone so I’m mostly fine with it.

I tried mindbreaker. Its terrible
What killer do you play may I ask?
-
I'm getting into him, and from my perspective, no one plays him because he just isnt as rewarding as other killers. He's a B tier killer that takes a while to get good at between shredding and portal location, and he's add on reliant. Although he's extremely fun, there are better killers out there that take much less effort, such as Spirit or Freddy.

Well you can ask some people like @NoOneKnowsNova, @KiwiCoattails, @megswifey, @Jyn_Mojito, @MadLordJack, @OniWantsYourMacaroni, @lowiq, and @Donkerydoo and they'll back you up on that fact lol. There are some more people, too, but I don't wanna drag an army in here rather unfortunately. Hell I could even get some people ik on Twitter or Discord, too, if you really wanted though :p
Bold of you to assume I'd say yes to that.
Obviously the awnser is yes.
-
Some people get salty like that I guess. I will admit it is annoying when someone gets a flashlight save on me, but going to the extent of camping someone for doing something that's completely fine? That's a bit much.
Other than saltiness, I can't think of anything else. Maybe they were having a rough day and decided to throw it out on you or something.
-
Very rarely, and when I do its usually an easy escape.

One question, ds wasant already nerfed? is ds getting another nerf?
I don't know if you've heard, assuming by your reaction you haven't, but now if you do anything to progress the game (work on a gen, heal another survivor, cleanse a totem e.t.c) it instantly deactivates. A positive change in my books.

okay heres an examplwe bubba can down actaully down the whole team if theyre together and hes faster deathslinger gets a quickscope and gets to be sad
IF they're together. How often does that happen? I play him a ton and I can tell you, very very very rarely. Slinger is better than him by a country mile.
On topic, Slinger doesn't need a buff. He's arguably the strongest killer in the 1v1, and as mentioned by others, his sheer ability to quick scope you makes it so that you can't take optimal movements without risking getting shot.
-
There's a reason they're rare, and it's because these add ons are way too strong.
Also, Mindbreaker is a good exhaustion perk, I use it alot on a few killers and it works out great. If you really hate exhaustion perks just run it.
-
Tunneling off second hook would now be huge, especially with ds being nerfed soon.
Additionally, this will slim the meta down even further for survivor perks. Sabo builds for example, would be much less useful if you can only attempt at most twice per survivor
-
Spirit
I'd like her power to be based around the same concept, but alot of tweaks to it as well as possibly a secondary ability for her.
I'm not exactly sure how I would rework her but I would like her to get one, although weaker killers should take priority first.
-
Some unpopular opinions here, but this is how I'd tier all the killere right now.
Take The Tricksters placement with a grain of salt as I'm yet to play him.
-

Only a yes to the second part
Then I'd say it would be bannable but I'm unsure.
-
Are you the one blocking them from falling, causing them to be stuck? And if you were to move would they become unstuck? If you said yes to both of these, then yes, that is considered body blocking.
-
Detectives Hunch is so much better imo.

If you play like this toxic player, why are you even playing the game?
Theres no problem what so ever with playing like this. I see it as meming if anything.
Even if that wasn’t their intention, there’s nothing wrong gameplay wise in being toxic.
If you can’t deal with people like this toxic player, why are you even playing the game?
-
I don’t see a problem with what he did whatsoever.
-
My view on it is that it sometimes is the survivors fault and sometimes it's just rewarding a bad killer.
In this situation that you mentioned, while you can say the survivors should have cleansed the totems, its undeniable that the killer played bad and got rewarded despite his poor performance.
Otherwise, Noed is mostly fine, and you practically put it perfectly. It's not overpowered nor weak, but its hated due to that 1 in 1000 occurrence.
-
Ngl I'd rather they rework all the maps first.
-
I'm fine with it the way it is. It's too niche of a perk imo. It's great against killer who slug fairly often, but that doesn't occur too much.
The only nerf I would accept is making it start at 50% or something similar, and each token would increase its healing speed by 1/4 of whatever the gap was till 100% (In this case 12.5% per token).

Well you have some points, but that doesn't fix the problem with 3 survivors opening the hatch after getting 3-gened (their own mistake) and after I close the hatch they can basically leave after 20 seconds.
So then close the hatch and let the team continue to do gens and open the hatch again after only one survivor is left.
If it's with a key, sure, that sounds fair. They made a huge mistake and should be punished rather than rewarded.
-
@Dizzy1096 said:
They used to have splinters, offerings which let you try killers for free (though no perks or add ons) but for some reason they got rid of those.
I think it would be good to see them come back, and perhaps this time give the killers their 3 default perks to use.
I believe they were removed due to them being a buggy mess. Although I wasnt around for it, iirc sometimes you wouldn't load in as the killer that you wanted to play as, other times you could just crash.
-
What I'd like to see would be a reintroduction of the Splinters, but fix the bugs related to it and make you have the three perks that killer has. Maybe decrease the rarity of them so you can play them more often.
This would allow people to test the killer and their perks without actually trying them so you can see if you like them or not.

@The_Nightmare69 said:
So I have some trouble with the hatch. And the hatch when it's opened by a key in particular.
What I want to know is, why the gates open after I close the hatch?
So I just had a team doing 3 gens and then finding the hatch I managed to scare them off and close the hatch. but then the gates opened I understand that it wouldn't be fair to the last survivor if there was no hatch and that the hatch is their last chance. But they already used their trump card. They tried they failed. They shouldn't be rewarded by getting an easy exit after that. I think it would be fair if the hatch just closed and they have to get back on the gens.
Too bad for the last survivor but they had their chance and it got denied
Do you think this a fair option too?
I'm fine with how it is now. Very rarely will the survivor escape through the exit gate anyways.
If it was this way, it could lead to the last survivor infinitely doing nothing, holding the game hostage waiting for the killer to dc or simply just wasting their time.
-
I don't see how anyone can disagree with this.
-
I only full on camp if its egc, same with tunneling.
I may camp someone for 10 seconds if they're about to die or if they're about to go to stage two.
Otherwise, I don't do it as I never see the need.
-
Just slowing them down isn't the right way to go personally. There are alot of factors that influence why gens may fly by, and even then I only experience it once a week or so.
-
Gonna disagree with you then. She's on par with many of the killers difficulty I'd say, or atleast from personal experience. In no particular order, I'd say Nurse, Hag, Huntress, Plague, Demo, Oni, Ph (Less the tunneling more the POTD) and Blight are all harder killers. Does that make her 9th? Nah, she feels the same difficulty to me when I was learning Bubbas hitboxes or Docs shock timing.
She's far from the easiest killer, but from killers that are A tier and above, she is the second easiest killer to me, and a long way from third easiest.

She's so easy to counter. Just look at the shards, they glow when she's phasing.
Doesn't exactly help when I'm breathing at 125% on an already loud character (Jeff) while making injured noises at 50% and she, for the most part, knows my exact location regardless if I run, walk, or crouch walk.
-
@Blueberry said:
People typically call her easy just because they're salty and don't understand her counter play. She's probably in the top 5 skill requiring killers.
Is this a joke, or are you genuinely serious?
-
As Seraphor said, most swf aren't OP. Some go and rush gens, while others play completely normal and you wouldn't even recognise are swf.
As they also mentioned, it would lead to even longer queue times, as before swf was a thing survivors would keep on dodging lobbies up until they found their friends.
-
How would you nerf swf without effecting solo players then?
-
@REL1_C said:
The perk breakout is actually pretty good
In a specific build it's ok at best, nothing crazy good about the perk in most situations.

In madden, fifa, nba, pes, cod, battlefield, fortnite etc you have strong teams/weapons and weak teams/weapons and they dont require any high skill cap to play them so why should dbd require one to play strong killers; hillbilly requires the most skills besides nurse but hi is b tier at best so why he is that weak compared to the skill cap needed;; nurse and freddy should be in their current state because this game is unbalanced as it is now,and when facing purple-red rank solos or swfs you need strong killers to at least be competitive so i dont think what you’re saying has any meaning
Although I don't play any of those games, there are four that I can comment on. Fifa, NBA, Pes and Fortnite. In the first three, you can do good regardless of your team. Back when I did play Fifa, many youtubers would climb from the bottom division to the top division while being at a disadvantage of sorts (such as all there players being low rated). All stats mean in those games are consistency, and there arent many variables.
Fortnite on the other hand is balanced through rarity, with, atleast back when I played, weekly buffs and nerfs to weapons, completely removing weapons that were too strong. The better weapons tend to be rarer, and any of the better locations had majority of the players go there at the start.
Hillbilly isn't even in the top 3 for hardest killers to learn, take it from me, he's one of my mains, and I find him A tier. Despite your claims, you can win with weaker killers. Another one of my three mains is Clown, and I can consistently Get a 2k-4k (with the devs saying they balance the game around a 2k). I'm going off personal experience. At Red Ranks this is what I find. I win most, I lose some, and when I lose its usually my own mistakes.
Again, what do you think of DH, Current DS, UB and PT with a key and hatch offerings? I have my reasons to ask.

like i said why killers cant be easy to play and be strong,is there a rule that says low skill cap killers should be weak; bubba and oni are low skill cap killers and strong to.If youre a casual player it shouldn’t mean you should lose every game or cant play seriously sometimes,it’s pathetic to ask some killers to be nerfed because « they are to strong compared to their skills»
No, there isn't a rule against it, but if you're playing a versus game, a 4 on 1, you're naturally going to have to work for that victory, not play casually and fairly easily 3k or 4k every game. Bubba (to me) and definitely Oni are in the average skill slot. They've got some learning which can take time. Oni is A tier and Bubba is high A/Low B. That's how it should be. The S tier should be for the killers that if you learned you'll sweep the floor with. That's why many (but not all) people find Hag and Nurse balanced, because they take time to learn. Compare this stuff with Freddy and Spirit. Do they take time to learn too? Yes, but considerably less.
That is why I want killers nerfed compared to their skills. Majority of the easier killers to learn are low tier (Clown, Legion, Plague) and they progressively get better with more skill.
I don't want Freddy to be in the same tier as Clown, Legion e.t.c, I just don't want him to be easy mode.
Finally, I ask you this. What do you think of Dead Hard, current Decisive Strike, Unbreakable and Prove Thyself with a key and hatch offering all in one?
-
@reeves7 said:

No he doesn’t,why killers should have a high skill cap to be strong; in every game theres strong and weak teams/players/weapons etc. Survivor mode is easy to play so why killer mode should be hard;; this is a game that people wants to play casually for fun not everyone wants to put thousands of hours in a high skill killer to have fun
I never said he had to have a high skill cap, but him and Spirit, two low skill cap killers, need a nerf as they're two strong when compared to their skill. I'm fine with strong killers that aren't high skill but arent low skill, such as Oni, Slinger and Bubba, but any killer that can perform well without even being moderately difficult needs a nerf.
Additionally, if you're a casual player, you shouldn't care about winning or losing, otherwise you're not being casual about playing.

Making Freddy completely useless again? Seriously? Why Behaviour? He didnt need this, I dont play Freddy, but this is sad news for all killer players
Well he is a fairly easy to killer to play while being high A tier, and his kill rate is around 75%. Hopefully he won't be gutted, but he does need a nerf.
-
None. I'm fine with Mindbreaker because that's a perk slot, but an add on slot shouldn't be able to inflict exhaustion.

Is Demo getting a nerf too? Freddy is also ok, he is only "easy to play" and survivors get mad because of it
Demo is getting an add on pass, possibly a bit of a buff to his base kit, Freddy as far as I'm aware is getting nerfed.
-
I'd love for an obsession mechanic to be a thing in every match, especially with Decisive Strike being nerfed so it won't be used as much. It'll hopefully decrease tunneling rates if it would happen, especially that whenever an obsession isn't in a trial the killer will often tunnel.
-
First of all, who said they were nerfing Huntress? They're only changing her add ons as far as we know.
Second of all, although Hillbilly didn't need it, he's still a good killer, and unless you overuse your chainsaw you never really overheat.
Finally, Spirit will hopefully be nerfed soon, as for Nurse, I'm not sure if she needs one but that is up for debate. Freddy and Demo are next in line so we will see what happens after those two.
-
Have a good break, and I hope to see you back soon when you're feeling better.
