  • Since the new chapter I turned cp off console had been having major problems after the new chapter down to the point that the game is almost unplayable. Having to face PC players with half of ‘em running mod menu’s on top off that is just not good for my blood pressure.

the other problem I have with cp is that I encounter a lot more hackers when it’s enabled. PC players can just make numerous new accounts when banned whereas we on console are stuck with the one account… yes we can create a new account but we’ll have to pay $60 to play online with said account so yeah…

  • That is how the tentacle works I believe. The hitbox lingers around for about half a second. I am not sure if that’s intended or not. And as for the pellets. In my experience I have found that the attack prioritizes survivors and then checks for a breakable object because it can’t hit both. So if you drop a pellet it can hit you through it regardless of it’s tier. And dead heard… well dead hard [bad word] me in the behind half of the times too it is just a wildly unreliable perk.

    @gendoss said:

He seems pretty balanced and he's fun to go against. I really don't like how his tentacle attack works tho cuz half the time it literally doesn't touch me but I go down, like it needs to be adjusted so I can actually see if it hit me or not. There was one game where I dropped a pallet and dead harded immediately after and his level 1 tentacle hit me. Literally through a downed pallet and a dead hard.

Overall I think he's a good character, balanced and fun to play against.

  • His power just seems like a PH, demo hybrid. You can destroy pellets and walls like demo but, can’t go through physical objects like PH can. I like his special attack the only thing I don’t like is the hitbox it just needs to be a bit wider than half a pixel in my opinion. Also hitting non contaminated survivors with you tentacle is so punishing because they get the sprint burst as if they got hit and I get the cool down of a hit but I didn’t get anything out of the chase… also zombies should be fixed on large maps they are not even an inconvenience and on small maps like: midwich, treatment theatre and haddonfield they are just in my face all of the time

  • Gangsta_Marty hit me up sometime

  • @Phasmamain said:

As for red ranks that’s just due to there being too many survivor players. They wait 10+ minutes for a match so the rank bracket expands

As for pips devour hope is not a good way to get pips if that’s what your after. My advice is to not worry about them as it will just make you get tilted

That is what I mean devour hope rewards me for doing a good job. But why does the system punish me for doing my objective as efficient as possible? (The objective being killing the survivors)

  • @Seraphor said:

Gen speeds already feel painfully slow from the survivors perspective, even though they're not in practicality, so I wouldn't want to just slow down all gen speed.

The problem is early game rush. The killer can't be in 7 places at once, so getting one gen completed right away is almost guaranteed, and 3 is not unheard of.

What we need is an additional starting objective.

What if: Generators can't be repaired unless you possess a Wrench.

Wrenches spawn around the map (maybe 6-8 in total, with offerings to increase them) and you collect them similarly to the Red Glyphs in the current tome. Once you have one, the rest vanish from your perspective, and you get a permanent buff for the rest of the game that allows you to repair generators.

Purple Toolboxes and a Green Toolbox add-on also allow you to repair gens just like a Wrench, but only while you have that undepleted Toolbox. This would prevent emptying the toolbox immediately, you'll have to save it for a more opportune moment, because as soon as you deplete the toolbox you'll have to go find a Wrench.

I love this idea, it works kind of the same way the healing mechanic works I assume? No healing without items or help.

This would make matches so much more fun. Would it the wrench be an item? Like if you hold an item you can't pick up a medkit, key, etc?

If so it would fix two problems at once. If you want to use a key you sacrifice one player working on gens, if you want to do gens you can't use keys.

  • I think it's a fun idea but the entire map would be full of bones. let's say 5 totems per player equals 25 totems in the map.

Would there be a difference between survivor and killer totems? If not NOED complaints would get so bad because there would be no way of 'just doing bones'

Like I said a fun idea but nightmare to implement.

If it's with a key, sure, that sounds fair. They made a huge mistake and should be punished rather than rewarded.

    Yes exactly

I believe that's what I was complaining about when I posted this argument it just seems unfair /#########-ton of luck for them to find a key in a chest open the hatch, and avoiding the 3-gen against a Demogorgon.

To be fair playing the 3-gen against a demo can be frustration. but still I just feel cheated out of the 4K because they were all injured and death on hook.

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/234726/the-hatch

I'm fine with how it is now. Very rarely will the survivor escape through the exit gate anyways.

If it was this way, it could lead to the last survivor infinitely doing nothing, holding the game hostage waiting for the killer to dc or simply just wasting their time.

Well you have some points, but that doesn't fix the problem with 3 survivors opening the hatch after getting 3-gened (their own mistake) and after I close the hatch they can basically leave after 20 seconds.

So then close the hatch and let the team continue to do gens and open the hatch again after only one survivor is left.

  • @Bravobro said:

I'm surprised it's possible, but in a match as a leatherface where I had a surviving always in the hunt. Have managed to make without adding perks and with two tool boxes with sabotage addons 5 gens in 3 minutes. How????? Please fix it.....

I feel a bit conflicted about this because I have had multiple teams rush the gens in like 3 minutes whilst the OoO was telling them what I was doing 24/7 on the other hand I feel like if the survivors make one mistake at the start it is very punishing.

I’ve forced myself to get really good at demogorgon and when I need to give up a chase to contest a gen I will do so. I choose the Demodog because his ability to defend a 3-gen situation is disgustingly strong. Because they can’t all do one gen they split up and I find when you single out the weak links you can snowball the gam from there I generally play the midgame to get perks like DS and unbreakable out the way because When you play the 3-gen you DO NOT want to worry about those perks.

but gens do need a rework. Because like I said killers are fully reliant on getting a good RNG with the gens otherwise it’s pop, pop, pop, pop, pop aaaaanndd it’s gone. Maybe remove the coöp aspect so that you force the survivors to all do individual gens? Idk if that’s fair I don’t play survivor a lot I don’t really enjoy running away and all that.

This was changed in MM to use the highest rank member of the SWF.

then something is definitely broken because in all my matches both as survivor and killer the ranks are all over the place. Endgame lobby looks like a freaking rainbow at this point. Like red, red, purple- low green and a rank 14 killer I’m just glad to be in high ranks with killer because this is not even funny anymore

  • @REL1_C said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2013914#Comment_2013914

Why? If the killer tunnels you then you stay and learn how to loop even better so the killer can't tunnel you. Or just play in a swf.

    Exactly,

since when did it become acceptable to call tunneling ‘toxic’ and a good reason to DC it’s just killers picking off the weak links in the team. A chain is only as strong as it’s weakest link and if I as a killer get the opportunity to remove a player from the trial before gens have been popped I will most certainly do so. What else am I supposed to do? Just let you wait on the floor? O no wait dangit that’s toxic too. How about if I leave you be and chase your teammate? What no? That’s tunneling the other player? Right gotchu just stand still and do nothing is that acceptable?

don’t get me wrong if you DC because of personal reasons or bad internet can happen so let’s make a distinction between a DC and a rage-quit.

    p.s.

sorry for going on about this on your post man I couldn’t find the post you commented on. So consider this a second hand comment if you will.

  • I am willing to accept this because I truly don’t know what’s up with matchmaking last few days. So this might make me help sleep at night knowing/thinking it’s an experiment and it wil soon all be over. If it’s an experiment though I wish they had disabled the deranking because I got kicked out of purple because I’m being matched against players of rank 1 and 2 all week long.

  • No I never said you did all I mean to say is though noed can feel unfair after playing a really good game. Imagine playing flawlessly all match long finally finding that one camper after closing the hatch at one of the exit gates and then getting robbed of the 4k like this. What makes it worse is that those particular survivors must insist on t-bagging you at the exits and spamming ‘ez’ in the endgame chat. I personally run noed but that’s more as a last resort and I couldn’t give a ######### whether it gets destroyed or not.

  • @Dragonshensi said:

Just had a match with a rank 4 killer playing pig. I was able to loop her well and she had given up on the chase multiple times and decided to just tunnel two of my other teammates. ( the minute one was taken off hook she would go straight for the injured one) I had only been hit once, never hooked. I managed to do all but one gen when the time came and I was the last one alive. She immediately closed hatch and found me and one hit down me with NOED. Honestly I’m not the best player but even I knew she wasn’t that great, at least with Pig. It sucks that I did pretty amazing that match and got screwed over by a perk a lot of people use to get a free kill. It feels like my efforts were undetermined very cheaply by this perk. I’m not saying get rid of NOED but perhaps if there’s only one other survivor left then NOED shouldn’t activate. Like to me NOED is used as a last ditch effort when all the survivors are still alive endgame and the killer hasn’t gotten anyone.

So hiding in a locker when there is 2 survivors left then when you get downed after opening a gate to 80/90% only to hop of the hook with deliverance and then using sprint burst and DS to get to the gate anyway is fair? Because that’s what y’all are doing to us.

  • @BeardedScrub said:

For this game to be "balanced" most killer mains are asking to be able to kill 4 survivors most matches...

Even if you get 4 kills HALF of your matches and 2 kills your other matches, that averages out to 3 kills per match. That means 3 out of every 4 survivors won't make it!!!

In what world is that "balanced"?

In solo q, I don't know if our squad makes it out alive even 10% of the time. And in a full squad we maybe make it out 20% of the time.

When you get a killer with certain perks and add-ons, like Freddy, Spirit, even the Hag with her traps, these killers can be virtually impossible to beat.

Then we have killer mains on here whining all day because they are getting t-bagged...

If you aren't getting 2 to 4 kills every match (meaning the game is balanced towards killer) then you absolutely suck.

Of course we should nerf DS, and if we keep the game in the state it's in, n I'm okay, but please, if you are going to nerf anything survivor, nerf the traps of the Hag, nerf Freddy or the Spirit.

Yes we have a problem with q times. That's the only reason why they cater so much to killers. They have to or the game won't survive so I'm okay with it. But killers: a successful match isn't 4k or bust, and again, if you aren't getting 2k or more in most matches, you suck, even my friend who's new to the game can play underpowered killers and get 2 kills each match

I am a killer main and I 100% agree with you.

An insight I want to give you though is the fact that perks meant to make an escape or a chase easier are being weaponized. Like the DS example you just gave. But BT is the same deal.

then there is the toxicity that just makes it less fun to play against good/better teams. I mean if I loose a game I’m not happy but I’ll still give them the gg’s but then because they were spamming second chances and just hopping on gens right after a hook not giving a single [bad word] whether I grab them or not because they have DS and BT. And proceed to go like: “ez, loser. Haha noob.” But thank the gods that abuse of gameplay will be removed next update.

so yes the game is, when not being abused, very balanced. But the fact that perks should help evade the killer not attack him aren’t used in the way the devs want them to be used makes us cry for better balancing sometimes.

the last thing that pisses me of personally is getting matched against a SWF all rank 1 and 2 whilst being in high-green/low-purple and then getting my ass handed to me because they are just much better. I don’t have that many hours in the game yet and sometimes I make stupid mistakes, which they will punish you for as they should, but I just feel cheated when being matched against people far above my rank but that is just me maybe idk.

so please try to understand our frustration a little bit because this is one of the few ways to share out salt without being toxic in game.

Body blocking the hook isn't toxic it's the survivors working well as a team. That's why they have perks like breakout to help get their teammates of the killers shoulder before they can hook them and they get stacks of WGLF and MOM for taking a hit while the killers carrying someone

Exactly, survivors bring a billion perks to give them second chances and body block so killers can't play the game in a normal fashion. So they all stand in front of the hook Make it impossible to hook a survivor who messed up, the game mechanics are plain and simple, you get downed after a screw-up? you get hooked or mori'd

and then survivors start complaining in endgame chat about us 'slugging' and 'tunneling' whilst in the current meta slugging is the only method to dodge DS, which fyi every [synonym for coitus] survivor brings.

So yeah being toxic and getting reports should result in a penalty.

  • @FrostySeal said:

The game was balanced around 4 perks, adding any more then that even if its just a hex totem would completely destroy the balance of the game. Yes, hex totems can be destroyed but even then it would still be a massive benefit, just imagine builds like rundying, enduring + spirit fury, and tinkerer.

Just imagine 12 second chance perks and OoO, making it essentially unable to quickly remove one player from the trial which in red ranks is a must.

This sounds like a rare case tbh. As a Survivor main, I almost NEVER see this... And if I do it's almost always a TTV or "SubToMyYT". And, personally, if I see abuse to these perks or the bait the killer I have absolutely NO issue with leaving you on hook :)

Just like if you drop a pallet on me after seeing that I was behind you, I will let the killer have you. Someone else can unhook you (especially if I've unhooked you safely and I'm coming in to heal you) SMH it's clear they don't want help lol so let's give them what they want :)

I'm in it for a fair game tbh if I made a mistake let's take a field trip to a hook, if I can do it with bt I'll do it but you had best bet if you abuse it that's a no- go for me.

yes those builds are likely to belong to streamers but it still second-chance perks are being weaponized and abused there is no denying that. let's be fair.

Love this logic of ranks mean nothing so level 20 survivors matched up with say a green or purple rank killer is fair to the survivors? You have various hours of playtime and can get back up those ranks but what about people who just want to play casually and not deal with tourney level swfs?

No you misunderstand me, what I mean is that the ranks carry no value in the game. Me in purple or green ranks gets ranked against red ranks. very unfair. what's even more unfair I loose progress in my rank when I as a green or purple ranks loose to a rank 1 killer/survivor. So I feel like ranks are meaningless as long as they do not contribute to matchmaking.

  • Ranks honestly mean nothing, I used to play at red ranks have even been rank 1 two years ago I went on a break from the game and I am still very rusty I am currently back at rank 8 and am trying to get back to red ranks but it is very hard, especially when I as a rank 8 killer get matched against all red ranks even rank 1 survivors because that's supposed to be fair.

and I would much rather have a team of bullies than a team of gen rushers trying to end the trial in two minutes because queues aren't long enough I guess..

  • I truly with a burning passion hate survivors spamming second chance perks. Like I will hook a survivor against all odds because the whole team body blocks me whilst trying to hook my catch. They don't care I hit them because they're all running: DS/BT/endurance/DH/self-care/sprint burst.

I know not all of them are second chance perks but they help a lot. Yesterday I had a game where I was being forced into loops by a claudette she was tea bagging at every chance she got. If I came a little too close she would just use DH and onto the next loop. I finally got her, hooked her, her team-mates immediately got her of hook, she then used herself as a human shield and endurance kicked in putting her in the deep wound state (orange health bar) then I got her down again, she used DS. And to top it all off she had adrenaline so my decision to slug her in the end game was big mistake too.

I generally hate it when survivors spam these perks and then proceed to use themselves as human shields or just weaponize the perks. It is supposed to be an anti-tunnel perk but it has just become a weapon to annoy the killer at this point.

  • I usually play ghost face or demo and honestly spine chill, though annoying in the early stage of the trial, isn't that big of a deal later on. First of all their skill checks become harder so it 9/10 times gives you more intell. Secondly you, as the killer, can abuse this perk in disgusting proportions. You can just use the perk to scare survivors off gens... They, can't hear your terror radius so they'll 9/10 times assume you are close when the perk activates and they'll run, even if you are over 20 meters away. After 5 - 10 minutes into the trial they'll usually figure out you are using the perk in this way and will just ignore it after which it pretty much becomes a dead perk.

  • The game is still very much bugged,

earlier today I had a survivor floating around the map, collision is still a major problem I keep getting slammed by pallets whilst I'm 10 meters away and for some reason it is possible to blind the killer by just shining at his general direction. I was looking at a wall whilst picking up a survivor but still got blinded.

The gunslinger appears to have a literal sniper rifle I got hit with his rope dart through a wall for some reason

    2 perks because I can

Survivor perk: King of nothing, if you don't have an item held for 140/130/120 seconds gain a brown toolbox/medkit at random, depleting the charges on a item consumes the item and decreases the time needed to not have a held item by 20 seconds per rarity tier of the item depleted

Killer Perk: Cursed treasure, Spawn 1 addition chest at the start of the trial, whenever survivors complete a chest search expose all survivors for 35/40/45 seconds and reveal the auras of all chests to survivors for 5 seconds.

Do you mean expose in the meaning of their auras become visible or the status effect 'exposed'?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/230072/new-killer-concept

Okay, cool concept, respect the effort you put into it. However, they move faster on all 4, not slower. And the tail should be a short range secondary attack. I hope they do this.

Yes I am aware they are faster on all fours but from gameplay perspective I feel it's more fair to have them move slower whilst crawling.

  • I would like to see some more non-humanoid killers. such as a Xenomorph or maybe a werewolf? I think it would also be Pretty cool if they made it so that these non-humanoids can go on all fours as some sort of stalk/crouch mode? don't know how fair that would be given the fact that killers made hide near hooks or something but it is still a fun thought.

  • Well I prestige because I play 3 killers: Ghostface, Nightmare, Demogorgon. so I rotate. If my Freddy is at lvl 50 I prestige him and continue with Ghostface or demo and spend points on Freddy until he's lvl 15 then I prestige another killer and so on so on. This keeps the game interesting and forces me to use more than 1 killer

also, bragging rights for my p3 lvl 50 killers.

    1. I wish I knew that a huge terror radius IS NOT HELPFUL. I used to run around with perks making my terror radius as big as possible... smh
    2. That exposed DOES NOT mean the survivors' auras are exposed... which imo to a new player made sense because well 'exposed' I wish I knew how powerful this status effect actually is.
  • @AChaoticKiller said:

i don't see why anything you do in game besides obviously hacking or refusing to progress the game so it can end should be bannable.

you got t-bagged? man up dude it's a game and if anything survivors doing that helps you since they could have gotten more distance if they were not so full of themselves.

teabagging does not bother me very much this happens in every game. It is the abusing of game mechanics and desperately trying to get the killers attention and then trolling him for as long as they can. Neither am I saying I lose games because of it 9/10 times trolling results in getting killed it is just annoying. Because more often than not Claudettes will trigger the [bad word] out of you their team will try to save them for reasons far beyond my understanding resulting in getting themselves killed. The Claudette then proceeds to find the hatch camp there till their team is dead and dip after which they 9/10 times will salt message you.

I’ve found that as I get higher in ranks this becomes more problematic I am currently a rank 3 killer and it is almost impossible to enjoy a normal game without survivors being overly annoying or just flat out toxic.

  • @EvanSnowWolf said:

Who gets to decide what is toxic?

To me using flashlights is toxic, but they're a part of the game.

I think the devs could make a list of behavior that is not allowed in game.?

  • I find it funny how my perspective on the game makes people this upset and somehow my having my favorite movie-character as an icon makes my posts bait?

all I’m saying is the survivor community of dbd is by far the most toxic community I’ve ever seen in any game. And the fact that they’re getting away with it is what triggers me. And to see people saying “just hit body blocking survivors” well yes but actually no. I hit 1 they run away 2 more are blocking me by the time I’ve hit every douchebag the survivor has escaped I’m stunned and they’re all healed up because thank god for self care + medkit combo. Sure you can try to report them later on but it’s gonna take a whole lot of reports before someone gets banned.

and like I said ignoring them isn’t an option half of the time because they’ll just proceed to make as much noise as possible making it impossible for me to effectively track other noise based information. (That’s a major issue given the fact that this game is very sound oriented)

so the devs have to either come up with a solution to effectively get people who abuse the game mechanics banned or find a way to make abusing game mechanics impossible/hard to do, remove collision in close proximity to hooks and small spaces for example. Because I am well aware that there are some killers who use body blocking too.

  • NOED is fair but some builds just abuse the concept

I myself have made a 'that build'

    It runs:

Remember me (RM), upping the opening time of the gates from 20 to 36 seconds which gives me more time to down and slug the remaining survivors.

Blood warden(BW), because I run NOED so hooking a survivor is easy with NOED active

NOED, because well it is destructive when used in the right setting

any random perk usually whispers or thrilling tremors.

and then I enjoy a highly mobile killer like the Demogorgon because it can just spam portals next to both of the exit gates.

Now I would like to state that I DO NOT run this very often because it is just broken. The only times when I run this build is when playing with friends in private matches.

I would say NOED is fine, but a great nerf would be to make it incompatible with certain perks that trap survivors in the trail e.g. BW/RM.

  • First off I would like to state that I am a killer main,

Hex: obsessive progress seems to be alright. But is 40 seconds like max lvl? is it a 20/30/40? I like this idea because it is both a destructive and a slowdown perk. Because it discoureges survivors to coop on gens.

Cursed fog seems to be a bit broken my man, the way I understand it this just seems like blood warden but without the hook requirement and without a timer and they are unable to open the gates. so the survivors are trapped until they find the corresponding hex, This in combination with NOED just seems too OP. especially of you trow in blood warden too.

Furtive ambush just seems like a variant of furtive chase, which in imo is a useless perk. Because since Ghostface, Pig and The Shape everyone has been rocking spine chill.

  • Well obviously games are unpredictable so I never KNOW I've won until I get the 4k. But I usually see the game is going my way when I can clearly see that I've applied enough pressure on the survivors that they are more concerned with being healed, getting woken up, or when survivors stop teaming and start looking for the hatch. having hooked 2 survivors before 2 gens are done or having one dead on hook or even killed is also a good sign.

Also I consider my game a lost if I've killed less than 2 survivors, a tie if I've killed 2 or 3 survivors and I only feel I've won until every survivor is dead.

  • My man I feel you...

I had a survivor DC while we were loading in so the game instantly ended.

apparently that displeases the entity too... this resulted in me loosing progress right after the rank reset so I got set back 3 killer ranks which imo is just bunkers.

I would love to know about Dracula's backstory, he seems like an extremely unique and original character.

To be slightly serious: The Killer Power is absolutely out of control, being able to chain 3 dashes together that damage Survivors along the way plus allowing ignoring of vault locations without any fatigue afterwards is bonkers. In loops, this would be like if Legion grabbed Leatherface's chainsaw. Sure, he can't go through walls, but when you have 3 seperate dashes with no fatigue, presumably with the ability to basic attack lunge out of it, you don't need to, and can easily end any chase very quickly.

Bloodlust is essentially a straight upgrade to A Nurse's Calling and makes perks like Iron Will completely worthless, plus would be completely out of control on a character like Legion. Supernatural Hearing is just Whispers. Wrath of the Undead is just a direct upgrade to Spirit Fury which is already quite a good Perk.

I really enjoy fanmade chapter/Killer concepts, don't get me wrong, but please. Just... Please. Even if a power's overpowered, at least check existing Perks to see if your idea already exists, and come on, Dracula?

I've given the power much thought, yes it seems overpowered, but you have to take into a count that most survivors zigzag back and forth making such a power difficult to use. Also 10 meters is not that far. I've introduced this idea to counter the endless loops killers often get trapped in. Obviously the idea is not perfect, perhaps I wasn't clear after a dash you would have the same cool-down as if you attacked.

And yes Dracula, you want make an character that most people know. And c'mon who doesn't know Dracula. He would fit right next to Freddy and Scream.

  • I was thinking a vampire I’ve worked out a backstory and everything. I would love to hear your ideas.

    Killer: Count Dracula

    Name: The Vampire

    terror radius 32m

    movement speed: 4,8m/s

Ability: Bat swarm, this would work similar to the nurse’s blink but without the fatigue effect, it would transform the player into a swarm of bats a leap 10 meters forward at 8m/s (200% normal speed) It does not allow the player to phase through the physical but can jump trough any vault locations. If a survivor is hit by the bat swarm it would count as a basic attack. (Kind of like the demogorgon’s shred attack) The player can do this 3 times after which the ability goes into a 30 seconds cool down.

active ability: embrace of the shadows. This grants the killer the undetectable status effect until the killer attacks or is stunned.

perk: Bloodlust: The Vampire’s bloodlust allows him to see the auras of all survivors in the injured or dying state within a 10/12/15 meter radius

perk: supernatural hearing: this perk gives the survivors a sort of terror radius if you will. It gives The vampire the ability to listen to the survivors’ heart beats in a 10/15/20 meter radius

Perk: wrath of the undead: after the killer has been stunned by a pellet 2 times the perk activates if the killer is hit by a pellet again the pellet will be destroyed instantly and the survivor closest to the killer will suffer from the exposed status effect for 20/30/45 seconds and have their aura revealed to the killer for 3/5/7 seconds
