i thought the Bisexual Lighting (tm) was for the survivor.
My bad for that, I'm unsure then. Maybe we will find out more about him soon.
-
Nothing was confirmed so he could be lgbtq+ but he's not definitely lgbtq+. I believe the rumours stemmed from the colour combos in the teasers.

This can be avoided IF they change the maps, the buff BL.
Oh or, make it so each map has atleast 2-3 spots to use it on (looking at you Shelter Woods)
If every map consistently had somewhere to use it, and not just a random hill in the corner of a map, I think it would be an extremely good perk. We can only hope that they do it I guess.
-
He's in a bright flashy outfit due to his name, which smartly has a double meaning. The Trickster. Both does knife tricks and tricks people into thinking he's just an innocent guy.
If it wasn't for the lore, then maybe I'd agree, but the lore contributes to why he just looks like a slightly over dressed person.
-
Aslong as it doesn't create infinites or cause certain loops to be almost infinites (looking at you Myers House) I'd be fine with this buff.
-
If you're efficient with his knives they'll end chases much quicker, and any good survivor will be able to loop him for a long time if he doesn't use his knives as he's a 110 killer.
-
It finally happened, someone said Nurse was easier than Spirit, I can finally rest knowing that someone was wrong. (/s)
-
I'm waiting for that one person to pick Spirit...
-
What happened to Blight? Is he not considered strong anymore?
-
Overconfident and Rebellious Streak seem way too strong personally. As for Bonds of Brotherhood, that could work, although could end up too weak as protection hits are situational depending on the killer.
-
I'd absolutely hate this perk in some situations. I
n situations where people are waiting by the exit gate, then sure, I guess it would be fine, although some people wait bu the gate to either make sure the rest of their team is safe (especially in solo) or to give the killer a free down so the killer gets more BP.
In situations when someone is body blocking for their team for a narrow escape, it would be extremely frustrating as the survivors made the right play, they successfully made a save only to be punished because the killer is running this perk.

The entire point of the PTB is to give feedback of the killer...
Yes, I'm aware, and apologies for the poor wording on my part, I should've mentioned this early into the PTB.
My end point still stands however, feedback after playing only a few games isn't going to be extremely accurate more often than not, maybe give it a few more days, see how it goes, and if he's still weak then I think we can complain about him, but for now he needs more time.
-
I still don't get why people make such harsh judgements this early during the PTB.
And before you say something like "Its obvious he's bad" people said the same for Slinger in his PTB and the same for Pyramid Head in his PTB.
Could he end up weak? Its entirely possible, but atleast give it more time than just a few games.
-
Ghostface is so much better than Myers imo. He starts off at 115, has the ability to have no terror radius while at this speed and can expose survivors relatively quickly. He can even 99% stalk survivors and then when the time is right he can get an extremely easy down.
Myers spends most of the game at 110 being forced to stalk to get to 115, unlike Ghostface who if he wants can just swing to start the chase instead of stalking as if Myers tries this he will be chasing a survivor at 110 with no power. Myers can also 99% however this power must be used on all survivors rather than only one like Ghostface, making it often a waste if not paired with the right perks or if simply no one is around. Myers definitely has more potential to completely turn the tide of the game, however he also gets into bad situations more often.

On the red bar that says 'New Discussion' click on the small white arrow on the right of it and options will appear, one of which is 'New Poll'.
You may have to go into the polls section first then press this white arrow.
-
If I had to take a guess it would probably be once you finish throwing your flurry of knives you lose a token, although it could be for each knife you throw or even when you damage a survivor for a health state.

Ahhhh that is why. Make sense. thanks! I thought this is from that movie.
I wish it was, as it would add so much more potential to the chapter, both unfortunately not. I still hope we will get the cashier we saw in the trailer one day.
-
I doubt they'd add a map at all, and if they could I say they'd just create their own shop instead of Walmart.
As for adding Sidney Prescott, it won't happen as this Ghostface is from a mask company, not the Scream franchise.

The players choose to abuse bs and use meta the game doesn't force that.
You're acting as if every survivor is a DS, DH, Unbreakable, BT swf player...

Totally agree that statistics only is a small part of the picture. But my point is that so is the player perception. OoO is strong in some cases but weak in other cases. Same with Haddonfield. Context is everything, but which context should be the guiding one?
TL/DR at the bottom.
In a game like Dead by Daylight, it's hard to tell what context we should use to nerf or buff anything, if it be perks, killers, items or add ons. I think stats do play a part in some cases, for example Freddys kill rate almost being 3 kills per match. But then I think you have to look deeper into it, something stats don't show, it's why Pig isn't actually as strong as her stats suggest.
If I were to choose how we would go about it, I'd say fun would be the right way. The problem is, fun is subjective and no matter how you cut it there will be someone complaining. People were even complaining when we got a 1.5x BP bonus last year for a month because they wanted it to be 2x BP. But, I still think fun is the way we should take it, and maybe that's how the devs are taking it too. Freddys being nerfed, DS and OoO are being nerfed, maybe that's how they're taking it. We can only wait and see how they take it.
TL/DR: Fun should personally be the driving factor for balance, however many other things should influence changes.

Well, I typically run Spies from the Shadows due to not having many available perks (plus it's just really good, at least for people at my level) so that's not an issue currently and that approach doesn't counter people who are not moving much anyway. Like those Survivors in dark clothes who hide in dark places and jump scare me all the time when I go around corners.
Claudette's are scarier than Killers, man.

Skip to last two paragraphs if you don't want to read my mostly irrelevant wall of text.
I will not let anyone dictate how I play, not even you my friend (I will try Whispers though). I just don't like to be grouped with people, as insecure as that might make me. I always approach matches at my own pace though, sometimes there are more important things than giving Survivors' attention. Often I don't take the best options or try my hardest at the game, I'm just playing for fun after all. Besides, it never fails to amuse me seeing a Survivor think he's got the upper hand with those narrow paths and your seemingly garbage skills so far, only to find that it's really not that difficult moving around obstacles or through doorways for you. They don't seem to think that Bubba can just swing without going forward, or that he can infact make tight turns fairly easily (your best bet is still to stick close to walls though).
I'm rambling again. Sorry, I do that. From what I understand, outside of location perks the general consensus is that the only proper counter to this situation is experience with the game and how Survivors' typically act. Is that right?
And also, is there something I'm missing about Bloodpoints or is approx 80-90k really going to always be basically the best that you can earn? With the average generally being more like 40k a match? This seems pretty low.
I can both relate to not liking to be grouped with people, aswell as not trying my hardest and only playing for fun. I don't like being grouped with others like you, if it be here on the forums or in real life, but that does help me play how I enjoy to, and I'm glad it can do the same for you. Fun wise, often I'll do something stupid just out of enjoyment and aslong as it doesn't screw up my team (if I'm playing survivor) then I'll try it. Bubba can be great on certain loops, and may favourite are probably TL walls, survivor jumps through the window as soon as they hear me rev my chainsaw only for me to down them on the other side, and those tight turns can even suprise survivors at the highest of ranks.
No need to apologise for the rambling, we all do it sometimes and it can be interesting to read, the best way to get better at finding people like you said is experience. I'd recommend playing both survivor and killer, especially with a perk like Bond or Empathy. It'll help you learn how to play against survivors and how they tend to act, in turn helping your killer gameplay.
Usually you can earn at most 32k a match, with certain perks and offerings affecting them, however with the current even on going its possible to earn more (a possible of 37k a game without a red envelope and a possible 47k with a red envelope)
It's why you see BBQ and We're gonna live Forever used often, or atleast at higher ranks. The blood point gain helps alot to level up your killers or survivors. It is pretty low unfortunately, and that's why a lot of people complain about the grind. There are some codes for bloodpoints that help with that grind, but for the most part it's still a long one, so goodluck getting through it.

I thought Whispers only told you whether Survivors are inside the Perk's range or not, and doesn't help you find them specifically when it activates? Spies from the Shadows helps alot, but there's not always a crow friend around and I would like a baseline of knowledge/skill so that I can use other types of perks instead sometimes.
As for your questions,
1. I "main" Bubba because I love that film and going around corners with the chainsaw feels super rewarding even when I fail (his tantrums are pretty cute, for a guy wearing someone's face). I also play Oni for similar reasons, but I am terrible at him right now. The chainsaw sounds make uninjured Survivors harder to track and I am aware of the hate for Leatherface, but fun trumps efficiency for me and I don't enjoy camping.
2. I am rank 16 for the second time, because apparently there's a rank reset in this game. The people I go up against are generally 20-10 rank and a fair fight so to speak, but sometimes a purple or red dude will appear and completely outclass me for some strange reason. This isn't about skill though, just about me not knowing how to approach the situation in general.
Although Whispers does only tell you if the survivors are in your perk range, if you have good game knowledge (which takes a while to learn) you can know exactly where 32 meters is and if the survivor is simply hiding still finding them isn't too hard, it's also a great perk in general as you don't have to spend near as it tells you if no one is actually hiding there.
Leatherface and Oni are both great and fun killers, and I enjoy them on both sides. I'd definitely recommend learning Oni more to get better at him, but also do play Leatherface. Whispers is a good perk on Leatherface, but a great perk on Oni due to him being able to dash around at high speeds and needing to spend his time in his power wisely. Don't let anyone tell you who or how to play, continue playing him and have fun.
As for you being rank 16, survivors do tend to hide alot around that rank. Doctor can be great at that rank, although I'd recommend learning Oni and Bubba like I mentioned above as they're more viable once you climb the ranks.
Feel free to ask anything else if you want.
-
I'd reccomend Whispers. Once you know how to use it, you can almost pinpoint where survivors are once the perk lights up, and even if you can't it helps you know if a survivor is in the area or if they sneaked away.
If you don't like Whispers, you could play Doc, or a stealth killer to sneak up on them so they won't hide.
Out of curiosity, what killer do you play and what rank are you and the survivors you face?
-
Who the ######### brings four keys into a trial?
Glad to see they weren't toxic and you weren't toxic in end chat though, respect for that.
-
I'd definitely be up for it, especially that I find it hard to hear the TR when I'm not wearing headphones, and it would help anyone like yourself who struggle hearing it in general.
For anyone wondering what it's like, the heartbeat shows up in your body like this aswell as makes the usual terror radius noise.
-
Stats aren't a great thing to go off, especially in this game where there are so many variables.
Two examples would be that Object actually has a low escape rate, yet look at how strong it is, and Haddonfield is in the middle for kills, but if looped correctly it's the strongest survivor map in the game.

Its definitely still bugged somewhat as it doesn't work on Lery's, although glad to see it works on more maps other than Dead Dawg

That's why I added the "not in a chase" requirement. How could they abuse this? By breaking somehow the chases, how is it possible?
First of all, leaving scratch marks around the area but playing stealthy, the killer knows someone is nearby but doesn't know where.
Second of all, standing still or walking. I know this sounds stupid at first, but waiting beside the hooked survivor won't start a chase if you aren't running, meaning the killer is forced to hit you as they wouldn't be able to get a grab off without wasting time.
Finally, albeit situational, trading. Getting downed by the hook so the killer spends extra time right beside it outside of a chase allowing someone else to come in for a save.
-
@fogdonkey said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1983950#Comment_1983950
Do you remember what was the abuse?
One survivor would keep the killer near the hooked survivor while the other two did gens, wasting the killers time up until A: all the gens were completed. B: The survivor wasting the killers time got downed. C: The hooked survivor got unhooked, if it be by the killer giving up or the survivor making an unsafe save.
Although it would be harder with the chase requirement, it wouldn't be impossible to waste the killers time if you know what to do.
-
Aslong as No Mither isn't in the pool I'd be up for extra bp.
-
Survivors would abuse this most likely, there was something extremely similar tested a while back and it was completely abused.
-
I'm happy with it, but an obsession should now always appear in a trial regardless of any perks or add ons from either side.
-
Although I am in favour of BT to be buffed to be ranged based, if I had to take a guess it would be because it could give unintended information about stealth based killers being within 32 meters, causing those survivors to be preparing almost for the killer to come back.
But that's just a random guess, for all I know is that it's just easier to code it the way it is now.
-
I think a movie about Slinger would be great. A story of going from nowhere due to where your family was from to somewhere, with betrayal and death along the way.
-
I like the direction this change is going in. Rewards the killer for playing well with an extra bit of momentum at the end. I would however maybe change it slightly to once you have a certain amount of hooks all survivors get exposed, as the problem I have with your idea is you could have 4 hooks throughout the game and have all survivors exposed meaning you most likely didn't play great, while another game you could have 7 hooks, with one survivor dead, two on death hook and one yet to be hooked, and that yet to be hooked survivor can play very defensive for his team.
Still this is a step in the right direction

Really nice thread, maybe bump it at the last day one more time to let everyone have that last chance 😉
Are you sure I should bump it again? I thought people would be sick of seeing this thread for about the 6th time.
-
Bumping this once more, probably the last time I'll do it, the event was extended to the 4th of March.
-
It would definitely be interesting to see, if I had to take a guess competent survivors would just do gens and all the saves would be BT related.
-
Queue times are so long as very few people want to play killer due to how stressful it can be, as one mistake can cost you the game sometimes.
-
Survivors are evolving
-
I think it just wouldn't feel right to have Otz in dbd, dunno if its that's just me though.
-
Personally what I find works for me is
Pop Goes the Weasel - A great regression perk that works great on Bubba, better than Ruin as he doesn't have mobility.
BBQ and Chili - Synergises well with Pop, allows him to plan ahead often knowing someone is in a certain place plus extra bp.
Bamboozle - Helps with Bubbas biggest weakness, windows. Blocks them off making some loops amazing for Bubba.
Enduring - Allows you to be cocky on pallets without losing alot of distance, works great on Bubba as often you'll get an instadown where otherwise it would have been too risky.
-
Ruin is great on killers that have either mobility or the ability to pressure survivors easily (Billy, Oni, Spirit etc).
Pop is great on killers that either don't have mobility or struggle putting pressure on all survivors (Clown, Trapper, Bubba)
-
They don't really do teasers for characters if its licensed, and anything in the teasers can't really relate to a film or game, so as far as I'm aware this will he an original chapter despite it not being confirmed.
Additionally in the files its purchasable with shards from what I've heard, licensed chapters can't be bought with shards.
-
Don't want to be the bringer of bad news, but MMR isn't actually in use yet.
-
Fun > Kills/Hooks
-
1. I've been mostly fine with gens, it may be due to the event toolboxes so more people are bringing them into trials, but otherwise I think they've been going the same speed as usual.
2. Although the skil checks are appearing for me, I'm an Xbox Series X player so I can't exactly say that there's no issue with DBD on PS4.
