No it wont because everyone who is dcing and suiciding at 5 gens is dragging everyone else down with them, and once you're low mmr there is no way up unless you swf.
You can still escape by the hatch. Your MMR won’t decrease this way (won’t increase either).
If your MMR is too low, I advice you to play these perks in soloQ : deliverance, ds, clairvoyance (to find the hatch if your team is throwing), exhaustionperk. You can also try circle of healing, it’s a huge help the team overall but you have to know totems locations because randoms love to break full totems.
Play selfish as hell, don’t take any risks. Play for the hatch if you have to.
If you are still matched with 20h teamates while having thousands of hours playing these builds, there is no hope for you then.

None of my perks were changed and my matches are way worse.
Don’t you understand it’s 4 survivors versus 1 killer ? If your 3 teamates are not used to the new meta, there is nothing you can do. Wait and the MMR will adjust for everyone.
-
And yet you were complaining about having 20h teamates lmao.
-
You were boosted by your perks and matched against killers too strong for you, lose more games and your MMR will adjust.

If you havent noticed these forums and the subreddit are very killer sided. They make up the minority of the playerbase but theyre the most vocal on the online part of the community and theyve historically made the forums pretty unwelcoming to other players.
Tbf like two years ago the game was heavily balanced towards survivor with the old DS and old keys/hatch, old maps with infinite loops but with each patch over the last 2-4 years theyve consistently given qol updates for killers.
Its gotten to a point where they need to stop catering to the minority of the playerbase because its simply bad business to alienate and piss off 70% of your customers.
Probably 70-80% of killers just want ez 4ks. For them a 2k is not a desirable outcome at all. Even a 3k isnt good enough for them. Many of them dont ever consider that they lost because they didnt play skillfully or because their strategy was poor. Its always going to be something in the mechanics of the game that needs to be addressed, not their own lack of skill.
Theres definitely sweaty survivor players but by far killers make up the majority of players who take the competitive aspect of the game far too seriously. Which is why a lot of survivors for a long time really didnt care about the incremental changes that were happening to buff killers and nerf survivors. The power creep has been slowly been going on for years but now its super obvious that the devs are only listening to that highly vocal minority to the exclusion of anything else. Mostly because theyre super toxic.
Stop crying and get good. If you were boosted by your perks, lose some and your MMR will adjust.

They need to remove BP when players DC. Something like -50 000 for a DC.

The problem with that statement is it is factually incorrect. He does not NEED to adapt. If it isn't fun, one of his completely valid options is to provide feedback and if necessary seek other entertainment.
You need to adapt if you want to win. He was obviously playing meta before, the meta changed.

Iron will and DS were not fine. You need to adapt to the new meta and stop playing like you have all your 2nd chances like before.

The time change to it along with the recovery from the killer plus other changes makes it nigh impossible to be used. Watched somebody playing with it and every time the killer caught up within what felt like a blink and just downed again.
You have to be smart and lure the killer to a good spot for you, not a dead zone. It’s not braindead perk anymore, I give you that.

I'm not that petty. My new way of trying to win games is just get a item right away from a chest find the killer and put it down and ask for mercy. So far has only worked with blights and myers and bubbas tho. Everyone else hates me :(
That’s throwing.
-
DS ain’t gone. It’s still a decent perk.

@Murgleïs 2,000 points is not nothing. Currently if you get 12 hooks in before the EGC starts, you get a maximum of 8,400 points in the Sacrifice category, so we need something added in to get the new 10k cap.
We're talking base kit here, so asking for 2k is reasonable when you're not burning a perk slot on it.
Killers might not have used BBQ for a multitude of reasons. They might not care about the bloodpoints at all or they might not have owned Leatherface or picked up BBQ in the Shrine.
You are assuming killers are interested by bloodpoints. I really don’t think so (at least at my MMR). Unless you want very specific expensive addons, most players are fine with what they get from the bloodweb. 2000 points, for throwing (because not tunneling is sometimes throwing), which is not enough to buy a single good add on is too little. "If you get 12 hooks" who does that ? Even if you play "nice", the last survivors are probably going to die immediately on their hook without any unhook.
Imagine if you gave 2000bp to survivors for cleansing all the totems, do you really they would do it instead of repairing gens ? It’s kinda the same imho. It’s asking too much for too little.
-
@feechima said:
Besides the fact this is an abysmal suggestion your second suggestion completely counters your first. Why would you let someone off hook until they are second state if you could mori them once you have four hooks. Just camp someone to second state then walk away and let them be saved. Get 3 other hooks to activate a 'basekit' Devour and find that second state survivor and mori them.
Current devour is balanced by the fact that it can be cleansed before its activated because once its active it is extremely strong. What you are suggesting means survivors couldn't even cleanse it by chance and for the paltry cost of four hooks the whole team dies.
Secondly, cleansing five totems at the beginning of the match could work for SWF but not for solo. Again, another unfair advantage for them and on maps like RPD and Midwich totem spawns are varied and the maps are huge. It is not possible to quickly cleanse 5 totems, do gens, save off hook and be in a chase.
Thirdly, if this devour hope were basekit and totem cleansing was the only way to counter it, then teams would be forced to try and cleanse from the start. Naturally killers can just bring Hex Pentimento because they'd be guranteed to find broken totems. Another guaranteed win.
Lastly, killers like nurse, which I see you said you played, would be majorly overpowered. I'm surprised your strat is to play dirty with easily the strongest killer in the game. Nurse doesn't need to tunnel if you know how to play her. Already pairing her with starstruck usually secures a 4k and most times with 3-4 gens up.
I can just see a nurse main now, with Infectious Fright, zipping around the map and killing everyone with 5 gens left.
« I'm surprised your strat is to play dirty with easily the strongest killer in the game. »
I can play the way I want : I play for winstreaks mostly. I don’t care about your opinion on how I chose to play that killer.
For the rest, I did not read because I agreed earlier the exposed effect is too strong anyways and most survivors are too bad to handle it. Instead, aura reading would be a better idea.
@ByeByeQ said:
I definitely agree that killers should have some base kit incentive to hook all 4 survivors before anyone dies. It is good for the game. A reward like 2,000 bloodpoints in the Sacrifice Category would be good. This would be especially awesome if they added a base kit BBQ stack counter.
@feechima nuked your idea from orbit and I have nothing to add.
2000 points is nothing. Some killers were not using BBQ before when it gave them up to 30k points…

My results are not random. They are consistently unenjoyable.
Yes, there are multiple solutions to solo problem.
- SWF (don't play solo)
- Killer (don't play solo)
- Uninstall (don't play solo)
But it's actually same solution. Don't play solo. But that's basically equivalent to treating sick by killing them. It can't hurt if they are dead.
Sorry but DBD is a PVP game 1vs4. There is no solo mode for survivor. You are supposed to play as a team, like it or not, your randoms teamates are still your TEAMates. You are not really playing solo.

Because you can. Go check the official DBD discord server, it’s full of players waiting for you. You have no excuse.
-
Let’s see in a month if you were right about the queue time.
The game is not broken, survivors did not quit when they had 15-20min+ queue due to the huge lack of killers (because the role was so trash nobody wanted to play it), despite the fact you only need 1 player on the killer side to start a game.
You need to mourn dead hard, DS, get over it and learn the new meta. Or you can leave, that will help the queue time and I will finally be able to play survivor without waiting forever.
-
I don’t know either, you can get friends and play SWF any time. It’s a choice, playing with randoms provides randoms results.

To be honest with you I was already having a rough time with the game in general. I was banking on this update drawing me back in and making the game enjoyable again. I agree it is a bit harsh to quit in so little time after the update drops but I just can't see myself enjoying the game right now. Some more changes need to be made.
Just take a break. Don’t uninstall, especially if you plan to come back. Taking a break is necessary sometimes, I took some because of the amount of toxicity I received for playing a tunneling / proxycamp nurse with red moris. After a while, I started to take screenshots and make fun of it.
So as I said, take a break and come back fresh without taking the game too seriously.

It seems odd to design something for a game that rewards a player in an already decent position.
Like, what if when survivors completed 4 gens, everyone was instantly healed a health state.
Why? Because they completed 4 gens and should be rewarded with something other than being closer to victory.
Not tunneling is not being a good position. I win the huge majority of my games as Nurse, I have had winstreaks for weeks tbh because I play nasty as hell. Hooking 4 different survivors on purpose instead of securing kills would be throwing some match.
Maybe at your MMR, getting 12 hooks is a good idea, we don’t really play the same game lmao.

thats has the same issues
1 hook stage is 60 seconds so it still buffs camping
good killers (nurse and spirit especially) can abuse it
it still activates when you tunnel as you can kill one guy quickly and then play against 3 survivors and randomly get exposed for 60 seconds
I think the idea is neat but there needs to be 1 billion restrictions that make this mechanic unintuitive to balance it. stuff like "you cant stay near the hook" "there need to be at least 4 survivors alive" "you cant hook the same person twice" "you are allowed to camp unless a survivor is nearby though" etc. etc.
neat idea but this looks too complicated to implement with exposed since exposed is really REALLY powerful.
maybe another effect? maybe something completely different?
or maybe scrap this idea. some ideas are sadly not meant to be. this might be a good buff for Grim Embrace though!
ideas to address tunneling and camping need to be intuitive, reward fun play while not punishing those strategies when they are totally valid. It is really difficult.
Hm you are right, maybe aura reading would be a better idea. I have to think about it.
-
@BubbleBuster said:

this makes facecamping the 4th guy you hook way too effective.

conclusion: ######### no
OK so what if instead of a totem, you have a 60s exposed effect on everyone ?

"stop unhooking in front of the killer"
what choice do you have against a killer that literally just facecamps? also not an argument that dumb camping just completely removes the fun for 1 survivor
"stop expecting killers to play nice"
true, killers should not be expected to play nice. However there shouldnt be a playstyle that gives no advantage to the killer, takes 0 skill but still is very effective at ruining the fun of 1 or 2 survivors.
"use prove thyself if gens are slow"
using perks to fix gameplay issues is not a solution, it never should be; sure perks help alleviate situations, but they should not be a bandaid; DS is a bandaid for unfun gameplay such as tunneling, unbreakable is one for slugging etc. Why not just make unfun scenarios less viable for killers? this is a game where both sides are supposed to have fun. holding m1 is not fun. getting tunnelled is not fun. getting camped is not fun.
"get friends"
not an argument. this is the same as "just win" "just play better" "just dont get tunneled or camped". for some people this is not something they want to do. this is something some CANT do just because their friends arent interested in dbd. A way better solution is buffing SoloQ to be as good as swf and then change survivor as a whole so it is balanced. Any nerf to survivor is going to doubly nerf SoloQ because they lack coordination + information
camping and tunneling without any reason should not be a gameplay mechanic.
If a killer camps a survivor and no other survivor is nearby, the sacrifice bar slows down gradually until stopping completely.
I dont really know what to do against tunneling as that looks rather fair in a lot of situations unless it is complimented with camping.
A game about fun should be balanced around fun for ALL players.
- if the killer facecamp, you continue to repair gens then you trade hooks at the last moment. With the new basekit BT it’s easy to do. Doing so, you have way enough time to get 3 man escape, and maybe 4 if you don’t fk it up.
- it’s your opinion to think killer is easy and takes no skill. For some reason, there is lack of killers at peek hours for years, it is considered stressful and hard by a lot of players.
- if you don’t have fun holding m1, don’t play survivor. Play killer. Because if you want to become a good survivor, you have to genrush at some point, and if you refuse to do it because you think it’s more fun to point your finger at the killer, tbag, get chased ect…you won’t escape often against good killers.
- I am sorry but no, the solution is to get friends. It’s a PVP game. If you want to play with randoms, don’t expect anything but random results. You are supposed to play as a team and coordinate. Did you know that in some PVP games you cannot queue as a group in competitive (or with limitations) and you are forced to play with randoms so the MMR can test your skill and see if you can carry ? In DBD it’s not the case, you have NO LIMITATIONS, most players play with others, duo, 3 or a full squad. You make the choice to queue with randoms, meanwhile the official DBD discord server is full of players ready to queue with you with voicechat. So it’s your choice, accept the consequences. The game should not be balanced around random uncoordinated potatoes, because that how we end up with perks like old dead hard.
- you don’t need any reason to camp and tunnel. Do you need any reason to genrush ? No, that’s your objective. It’s the same for the killer, if that’s smart, then he should do it, despite all the insults and death threats in the end game chat.
-
Honestly I like the shattered hope and undying idea. Especially undying so I can play Devour again.

You realize killers do everything faster now, strong survivor perks got butchered and speed boost after hit got nerfed? Also the new perks like OTR favour a holding w playstyle, so there is no chase.
The game was balanced before, the only thing that was wrong was dead hard. Giving the killer infinite time to chase makes it unwinnable against killers who actually know what they're doing. "just learn to loop" or "just heal" is the new "just patrol gens" or "just do bones". Maybe the killer mains who complained before are the ones who need to learn how to loop, not just to run mindlessly behind survivors
Seems to me you were carried by dead hard, and now you need to adjust and get good.
I don’t see any problem with holding W from pallets to pallets, that’s how good survivors play. Pre dropping is necessary against some killers. And yes, you should not be able to win a chase against a good killer, the game is balanced so the killer can catch you at some point. It’s 1vs4, not 1vs1. You should not feel safe. I know survivor was chill for so long, I am still playing it while watching movies or listening to music but now you need a little bit of skill too.
Btw, op is an obvious survivor troll, pretending killer is now nice and chill, when it’s not. Killer still has instant queue in my region (EU) at peek hours despite the fact you only need 1 killer for 4 survivors…

We have the same situation as with freddy back then, forever builds are back. And they take no skill, it's straight facts. If something is very easy to play it shouldn't be strong, that's a fact from any game balance and everyone with experience will agree
Nop, back in the day, you did not have coh. Also, you can stop healing and learn how to loop a legion, a killer with no antiloop.
-
Camping and tunneling are perfectly good and valid strategies. Get over it.
Also, forcing the killer to be 16m away will just promote proxy camping, don’t worry I will still be able to rush at you with my Blight, or teleport in your face with my Nurse after the unhook to slice your throat and put you back on the hook. Ain’t going to solve anything.
- stop unhooking in front the killer, wait for him to leave the area. I said leave the area, not just walking 10m.
- stop expecting killers to play nice and easy. They want to catch you, kill you, and win. Don’t expect mercy. Of course they are going to tunnel if that’s smart.
- use prove thyself to repair gens faster if your team is too slow
- get friends and play SWF to coordinate better.
-

I think this post misses the point of those complaints.
Prestige shouldn't cost any blood points in the first place. The solo queue experience shouldn't be as miserable as it is. Unavoidable killers with specific builds make the game the most unenjoyable experience where all you'll want to say is, "Next." Nobody wants to sit in 20+ minute games because it's Legion stacking all the slowdown imaginable.

Cenobite's anti-loop is actually not so good.
Dredge doesn't have anti-loop per se, but that's because his strategy is more about jumping out of lockers and hitting peeps rather than chasing.
I LOVE Pinhead, but I can consistently do way better with Dredge.
Chained survivors can drop pallets. So his power is only good at unsafe loops, where you don’t need his power to begin with. Or not deny dead hard, a perk that is now dead.
Good survivors won’t solve the box at all, because you can repair gens while the chain hunt is active if you time your dodges. You have to be at high MMR to experience that, that’s why this tier list is not accurate.

Demo has way better chase power and can set up his own teleport whever he wants, somewhere where lockers can't even spawn for example.
Trickster is more deadly on avarage in chase than Dredge.
What about Cenobite ? How do you justify him being better than Dredge ?
His teleport is controled by survivors and his antiloop is weaker. Chain hunt useless against decent survivors.
-
Demo better than Dredge ?
Trickster better than Dredge ?
Is this real life ?

It’s the best survivor strategy by far. There is not much killers can do against it without perks except if you have mobility in your kit.
Imho the best perks to counter this are noed and DMS if you have a power to zone them of the gens.
Without mobility powers or good perks, it’s a 100% win strategy for the survivor team.

You need to understand that him being strong doesn't mean he's not balanced.
Yes he's a S tier killer we all know that but how does that makes him unfair or broken to go against ?
Some of his add-ons are BS and needs to be nerfed but his basekit is fine and he doesn't ignore god pallets and windows as far as I know ?
he's nothing like Nurse the only overpowered stupid killer in this game is Nurse and she needs to get nerfed or completely removed from the game that would be so healthy for DBD and its playerbase.
Blight is balanced, his power is well designed and not boring,he's not Anti-Loop#8769 killer where you just hold W and predrop, there is more to this killer where you have to use your brain and predicts his bumps.
yes most people use his power in chase because no point in being a basic M1 looping killer, there are some maps where using your power is bad and you have to chase as an M1 talking about RPD and Lerys where there are many windows/tight doorways and survivors can easily play around your rushes so I see no reason to nerf his movement speed to 110.
Blight is what a killer should be not like Legion or fckn Clown.
Spirit doesn't have limited movement she can move fast and without any restrictions shes so easy to play with her busted add-ons MDR and dried cherry blossom,so yes she should stay at 110 and Blight at 115.
"there is more to this killer where you have to use your brain and predicts"
Sounds like Nurse lmao.
Believe me, as soon as Nurse is nerfed in any way, Blight is next on the list of complaints.

So the Obsession is the ultimate bodyblocker?
The killer will still able to hook the obsession (without killing him / her) and get aura reading on all the other survivors as long as he / she stays hooked. It’s a nice compensation.
Also, if the obsession changes while the old obsession is hooked, he / she will lose immunity and die.
-
@Crowman said:
First off, the devs aren't trying to remove tunneling or camping. They have stated it's valid and are only trying to nerf the overall strength of the tactics by providing some basekit buffs so survivors don't need to run specific perks to deal with it.
Second, your solution isn't great even if the devs wanted to remove those tactics. First off, it would suck to make a single mistake in a trial and get instant sacrifice because the killer hooked 3 times before going after me. And sharing hook states doesn't even stop tunneling as the killer is now more incentive to focus on the easiest to hook survivors since it'll burn hook states faster.
Third, you've just given a stronger griefing tool for the killer. Now if a killer just wants to grief you, they can just camp you on hook and there is literally nothing you can do about. At least currently you can try to unhook yourself or let yourself die, but now those options are being completely removed and you just sit there.
You are trying to fix a problem that the devs have stated isn't a problem by making the game much more unforgiving for solo players who already have to deal with whether or not they were able to get matched with teammates of their own skill level to begin with.
I agree, honestly I know the devs won’t add this idea.
This is a suggestion aimed at survivors complaining about tunneling and camping. I am trying to show that removing tunneling and camping will create new problems because it will force the survivors to work as a team. And a lot of them don’t want to.
In fact DBD is interesting in a way that it makes the survivors chosing between playing altruistic or selfish. For exemple :
- A survivor thinking : "Do we have still a chance to win at this point ? Should I try to find a medkit instead of repairing this gen and hide for the hatch ?"
- Another survivor avoiding the killer, letting his teamates getting hooked, only unhooking them so they can be meat shields, useful to buy enough time to repair the generators.
So the more you remove tunneling and camping strats, the more the survivors have to play as a team and it removes this entire aspect of the game. But at the same time, everyone is complaining about it, how solo Q is hell because teamates are farming hooks, selfcaring in corners, ect…
- About tunneling : I made an edit to reward the killer for hooking different survivors instead of tunneling. It’s 4 hooks to kill if you tunnel instead of 3.
- About camping : you forgot there is no timer now, the killer can try to facecamp all game, your team will repair gens, remove noed then save you.

How is someone dying on their first hook better than how the game is now with tunneling and camping? And if it's every 3rd hook, can't the killer still tunnel the same survivor for those 3 hooks? Also, I do think the hook timer needs to be extended but consider that survivors will have less incentive to go for the save at all if there is no hook timer pressuring them.
Yes the killer will still be able to tunnel but it won’t give him any value. In fact, if the tunneled survivor has antitunnel perks he will have less value than going for someone else (right know tunneling is still the better strat, doesn’t matter how much DS you have to eat).
3 hooks might be a too low, that’s why I was thinking about 4 hooks.
Or maybe give 3 hooks restrictions like hooking 3 different survivors, but 4 hooks if you tunneling 2 survivors or less.
I think survivors will still have incentive to rescue because remember if they don’t and the whole team gets slugged / hook at the same time everyone will die. They wont rush the hook tho.

If someone run new OTR + DS you can still tunnel him hard but you're gonna lose a lot of time and probably lose the game, you can counter these perks easily by going for someone else.. it's already highly encouraged.
They're probably buffing thanatophobia for the same reason it's a good perk only if you try to injure everyone
Not really, I don’t mind eating a DS or whatever endurance. Then the survivor is vulnerable and I am free to hook him again.
Going after another survivor who has never been hooked is a waste a time because you need more hooks in total to win. The fastest you kill a survivor (even if you need to eat BT / DS / new OTR) the easiest it is to win, especially in end game to defend gens or simply slug in 1vs3 (or less).
