During the last MMR test there were several times that I was matched with killers in the purple and red ranks. They did not play as a killer of those ranks however. They played on a level more consistent with the skill my and the other survivors skill level our ranks being between 12 and 14.
I have yet to playa match during this test however it if it is like the last one it seems like it is working. Catching those who's have achieved ranks inconsistent with there skill level and properly matching killers and survivors together based on their actual skill level.
the last test was good !!!! this I assure you not! we'll see tomorrow!

Like...I know rank isn't everything but these guys very CLEARLY do not belong against me and contrary to popular belief on the forum, getting to mash absolutely awful potatoes isn't all that much fun either.
I didn't even use the stupid Mori (I generally don't use Moris ever but I was trying to get that "You Yes You" archive challenge done so I had Furtive Chase on, what to me felt like a useless perk except for switching the obsession so I burned an offering I didn't care about as I expected to basically throw this match; though on the plus side I did get my challenge done so now I can take Furtive Chase off)
Exactly!

I really think the person designing the algorithm has absolutely no idea how DbD actually works. A rank 19 player can make the average target MMR for a match work if it needs to fill a lobby for 3 high level survivors and 1 average killer, but that single survivor will make the match absolutely unplayable for those 3 high level survivors. Anyone with a working understanding of DbD would know that, but this stuff happena every time they turn on MMR

should we stop complaining? no, not at all. as consumers we have to make our voices heard so the producers continue to supply what we demand.
should people be more constructive about it? yes.
in fact I meant the sterile complaints !!! ;)

This is a rant.
Recently, it's been getting more and more difficult to enjoy this game and to look over the glaring issues. The Console version of DBD is an absolute nightmare when it comes to optimization and trying to play the game in a similar way to PC.
I've reached my wits ends with the game constantly freezing and never getting above 25 FPS. How in the ######### am I supposed to counter a 360 if I am getting less than HALF of the frames I should be getting, I'm being denied visual information.
Have some videos demonstrating my point, if you have any of your own, please share them. Maybe we can get an answer out of BHVR about what happened to the Optimization we were promised if we make a big enough fuss.

this is the absolute crutch meta build I've ever seen in this game and it's used a lot.
4 second chance perks? Come on. How can you think you're good when you're using 4 second chance crutch perks?
This build is problematic and it's even worse when all 4 survivors use it. (SWF)
my build is: DH, BT, DS, SC.
although in most games I play without perk ... it's more fun

It shouldn't be all around because then they can hit survivors behind them, but the hitbox should be better since 360ing is stupidly effective on anyone not using a mouse. Even with a mouse actually, because it's hard to even see the survivors when they get so close to you. An fov increase would also help against 360s.
Do you also want a button to blow the heads of the survivors from a distance? ;)

Sadly that is true. It is best suited for hook exhanges where you never hanged. Many people sadly do not understand the true logic of the hook exchanges sometimes. If you are not hooked and if all of your teammates at least hooked once you should take the hit and hook.
finally someone who speaks as a true survivor! too many times I see people never hooked running away and not taking the shot to save someone! hook exchange is essential in certain cases!

The amount of toxic camping and tunneling is one of the most frequently discussed things. I feel like every Q&A stream you guys answer a question about it and your answer is usually something along the lines of "it's fine, just do gens." I really dislike that response because it simply doesn't match reality. In a full SWF, sure the killer will lose with 1 kill. But generally people don't have enough information to know the killer is doing or will do that. Even if they do, people's altruism is usually too high and they simply don't want killers to get away with it.
The number one reason I would like to see something done about this is it can literally ruin the match for at least 1 person. I don't care about the points, I don't care about "winning," I care about having fun. When I get camped and tunneled off of every hook, that is not fun. I don't have an interactive experience and I didn't have fun playing your game. Even if everyone else just does gens and lets that person die, are you really happy with the experience you gave that 1 person? Are you satisfied they just got 3k points and after losing 1 chase they didn't get to participate the rest of the match?
I'm not asking for a survivor buff, I'm not asking for baseline BT or DS or anything like that, but do something to actually punish players that do this. I feel there are two good ways to accomplish this: bloodpoints and possibly mechanics.
Nerfing bloodpoint gains for repeatedly hooking the same person in a short amount of time (possibly adjusted for # of remaining survivors) would be easy enough. Just don't reward the killer for that behavior. I was in a match the other day where my friend didn't have DS and was tunneled out of the game at 5 gens. He had 3k points and the killer was already at 15k. The killer got greatly rewarded for ruining my friend's experience and my friend got punished for losing one chase. And what could my friend do about it? Besides the unacceptable answer of "never get downed", nothing. He can't equip DS mid-game, he can't control being unhooked without BT, and he can't control people who simply wait out the new, lower BT timer.
Most killers that do this simply want to win, and the bloodpoint or possible emblem punishment simply won't be enough. I would love to see some game mechanic that also punish this behavior. I think it would be reasonable to have mechanics affecting the hook timer to encourage the killer to take a more active and less toxic role.
To disincentivize camping perhaps increase the hook timer if the killer is within X distance of the hook without any other survivors also being in that distance. The value of time can have a max value that decreases based on the number of generators left in the game. To disincentivize tunneling, if a player is hooked again within X seconds of being unhooked, increase or pause the hook timer (timing based on # of remaining survivors).
I think this gives the killer good enough reason not to use this behavior without giving too much of an advantage to survivors. I rarely see people, SWF or not, really try and wait till the last second to unhook. Generally people only wait when someone is getting camped hard.
it is an old and difficult speech! I can think of many reasons why your solutions would not solve the problem: the most important is that the survivors would be using those possibilities in a toxic way!

@danielmaster87 said:
The disconnect bonus isn't enough. When it comes to challenges, pipping, adepts, etc: we deserve the sacrifice points. It's not fair that the killer gets robbed of their pip or of their adept or whatever by a survivor pressing "leave match".
And this is not to lead into a fairness conversation on the part of the survivors. For example they'd justify DC's working the way they do now (not giving the killer any sacrifice points) by saying "Well, survivors get the downside of 1 less teammate which is unfair, so killers should lose something too." This excuse makes no sense because you're comparing in-game happenings to the points system which is outside of the gameplay. Giving the killer points for a sacrifice is not going to benefit them gameplay-wise, only in regards to their points.
Toxic survivors will use a DC as an ego protector, like "You technically didn't kill me, because I DC'd." And that's fine; they can have that. But it adds to their toxicity if they know that they denied you points by pressing a button, in a game where many people including myself consider pipping or 2-pipping a win condition. And if they can deny you something like an adept challenge, more power to them and less to you, because DCing has the power to do that for some reason.
So what I'm suggesting is for a survivor DC to count as 3 hooks on that survivor, unless they've been hooked already in which case the scoring system simply makes up the difference until it equals 3 hooks. I'm not asking for killers to get a free Pop or a free Dying Light or Furtive Chase stack, which we would have gotten had the survivor not DC'd. I'm just asking not to have my out-of-match score ruined because the other players left the match out of spite.
I agree with you! I ask the same for the killers who drop out and make me lose score!
-
I state that I play practically only as a survivor! Nothingis wrong if it is strategy! it is wrong and annoying if it is toxic, and this shows immediately! if the survivors all turn around to troll, it's right for them to bleed! even camping can be right if all the generators are gone and you have to defend your only hook! In my opinion, there is no toxic action, but a toxic way of using actions! I hope I have explained!

How are these the worst toxic players? Some people might actually be afk for a reason. You don't know their reasoning for this you cannot call them toxic.
I apologize if I misused the word "toxic".

As a survivor I absolutely despise the teammates who just make little moves from bush to bush or locker to locker, waiting out the entire game (or at least my hook struggling) because they know where the hatch is and they're just hiding until they can get the escape points. It makes me wonder what the ultimate point is. What, to put more points into all of the other characters that you will also just stand around with? I mean if you're not playing the game to actually PLAY then why even turn the damn game on?
That said, I'm on the fence as to whether to call that "toxic". I regard "toxic" behavior to be the kind of behavior that deliberately sets out to ruin someone else's game. Those players aren't necessarily trying to ruin my game, they're just looking out for themselves. While there ARE rules and report buttons that lean in that direction, there's nothing that says a player HAS to be altruistic, HAS to always go for the hook, HAS to play in a way that puts themselves at greater risk to themselves. I'm reminded of this when other survivors occasionally complain to me about "staying away from the action" or "sneaking too much" or "letting them do most of the gens". If I hang back and look for safe windows of opportunity to free my teammates, or do gens, or remove hexes, etc., that's my prerogative. I may piss some people off for being that way, but they also probably have no idea that the game gives much more points to players who throw themselves into chases with the killer so I'm already being punished, so to speak, for my more conservative playstyle. I may hate the people who LITERALLY just hide, but there are other players who hate me for not being, in their minds, active enough.
As for camping, tunneling and slugging, it absolutely SUCKS to be the person on the receiving end, but it's fair strategy considering that doing so leaves the killer vulnerable to smart players who take that time to get gens done.
What I consider to be truly toxic behavior is survivors working with killers (since that is deliberately sabotaging the game for all other people in the match and deliberately dismissing the game's entire purpose in the most blatant way possible) and people saying truly wretched things to someone else (slurs, threats, urging suicide) in post-game chat. To me everything else that's super annoying is...well, super annoying, but not necessarily without purpose or detrimental to the gameplay.
I share

That's the thing... Your not "stuck" by any means. You'll get out 60-80% faster, with decent BP.
If your time to play is that limited, I can't wait to read the novel you post after dealing with a hostage game that lasts an HR. Also if you allotted less time to complaining about fast free bp you could play more....

I'm responding to
"sorry but ... i want to play don't get gens for free!"
I read it as
I want to play don't-get-gens-for-free.
Like you want to play in a way that you have to earn gen progression. But due to spawns and maps, the first couple of gens are usually free. That's why I always run corrupt, it mitigates that.
you forgive my english! I didn't mean that! ;)

Then this might not be the game for you. It will straight up spawn survivors next to generators so the first 2 or 3 gens are usually free.
but what are you saying?

How is a player that's doing nothing whatsoever toxic? Yeah, you got a boring game, but they're not bullying you or blocking you in a corner for 20 minutes or telling you your mother should have gotten an abortion in postgame chat.
Also, the ... names are usually from Chinese players using a VPN. The game doesn't translate the symbols. They have a name, your computer just isn't parsing it.
the toxic is that I have little time to play, and in this way I am stuck in a game that is not a game because they do not show respect!

This post is not meant to rant about Tunneling but rather the fact that the 8k category cap still exists for survivor and the fact that there's no category spillover like there is for killer.
There are some games where the killer just decides they're going to tunnel you and run at you all game and I'm really getting annoyed with the fact that when I last a long time my boldness caps out early and I get no further points. While I'm running around I get absolutely zero objective or altruism and survival is pretty much up to my team doing gens during that time to power the gates.
I love getting chased when I play survivor but it's frustrating that in the above scenario I'll maybe get between 10k and 15k blood points because the killer decided they want me and would not let me get any in the other categories.
It'd be so nice if every generator, heal, or unhook done while getting chased gave you some points in their respective categories. Survivor gets so little blood points compared to killer and WGLF is brutal to stack up. 10-15k is enough for like 3 nodes on the blood web which gets you so little on the blood web that it actually feels bad to spend after a game.
I agree with you!!! but do you know what tires me the most? keep the killer for the whole game and die on the first hook because the other survivors run away without coming to save me!
