None of the strategies killers have at their disposal are toxic though. A lot of the time they're needed to create pressure. Just due to piss poor map designs
I know, and I agree with you!
however toxic behaviors exist! you can't deny it! it is in this fight that I would like bhwr to focus! if I have to tell you the truth, I like killer camping: cheating them and leaving them there without them understanding how I freed my partner is priceless! ;)

Ugh, no. The dc penalty was the worst thing they ever added to this game.
Why make fun and interactive killers or fair maps when you can half ass it and strongarm players into staying into matches they aren't enjoying.

You do understand your team mates get ######### over as well right ? Your team mates who are actually trying to climb getting completely ######### over by babies who can't deal with getting caught first who just rage quit and ######### over everyone on their own team who might be actually working hard for their pips and isn't willing to just sacrifice 4 of them like you seem to be able to.
There is nothing a killer can do in a game that compares to the toxicity of your team mate dcing.
quite right!

For the most part I do still enjoy the game. I just think most of the new content like killers/maps added in the last year just aren't really fun to play on or against. It feels like they're out of ideas and just phoning it in.
I don't DC as killer ever but if I get Hawkins or something against some insecure spirit with stacked slowdown I'm just going to boot up another game for the day.
I'm sure if you notice that your rivals are noobs, you won't quit the game!

I was being sarcastic. Camping, tunneling, slugging are all strategies and not a problem. Devs have said this over and over again
More to the point. People keep suggesting ways to "punish" killers for camping. Yet never offer up a way to compensate killers. Camping, tunneling, slugging are all ways to create pressure. How should killers be rewarded in the form of pressure on the survivors. If you make something like camping less viable
Do to map size, set ups, etc. It can already be difficult to create pressure as a killer. We don't need one of the ways to do so ruined.
I always repeat ... the problems are not camping, tunneling etc ... the problem is toxic players! killers or survivors.

Sure. How about gen speeds are slowed by about 50 % while I have someone hooked then
it would be a good idea for me! I say it as a survivor!
-
yet!!! what 2 balls !!!
premise: I play only as a survivor:
1) the defense of the last hook is not camping!
2) if the survivors are close to the newly hooked survivor, it is not camping! why would the killer leave if he sees you? to give you a rescue?
3) toxic camping is the real problem! but it is not a problem of camping, but of toxic players! what can bhwr do?
4) my solution is bps: if you camp the hook in a toxic way, the killer points are removed and given to the survivor.

It's funny but really makes me sad as a big Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie fan.
Before the DLC (Leatherface) was released he had mostly a good feedback in terms of horror, slashers and overall image in the industry. But with his release in DbD he became really fast a meme over internet and it grew really fast since the game became so popular. He was released quite weak... and not much the players could have done to secure kills besides camping, and so it became his main way of playing him for over 3-4 years, it created a very strong impression about Leatherface players.
Now with his buff, he is MUCH better and you can actually play with him, but what the players have experienced is still there and the meme is also there. It's always sad to see others influenced to leave negative feedback and reviews on this guy just because of the past experience in this game. :(
mine was a game ... not so deep humanly! in reality the message was not only for bubba, but for all those killers who enjoy raging and hitting survivors hanging on the hook! I wanted, in a less dramatic way, to tell all of them that they are pathetic! so now i say: you are strong bubba killer!

When Skill Based Matchmaking is implemented you will be matched with players around your own skill.
For killers this means that each of your characters will have individual skill levels so you will be matched with survivors on that basis, for example if you are bad at Pig but amazing with Nurse, you will face stronger survivors as Nurse and weaker ones with Pig.
There's no individual ranking for survivors as they are effectively just skins as there's no power change etc.
Ranks will effectively be meaningless then because ranks pretty much only show time played as opposed to actual skill level.
We have not made the information public on how the skill of a player is assessed there are some pretty complex algorithms on this and this is information that has been decided to remain hidden for the time being at least - I do not know if it will be explained further in the future.
Tnx... ;)

theres no reason NOT to tunnel gameplay wise. Its more about being empathetic towards other players and their experience with the game. After all, they're living beings trying to have fun just like you.
in reality, in my opinion, it always depends on the skill of the participants! an average killer, versus 4 average survivors, with tunneling will, if he is right, only one death. then there are different types of tunneling! I ask you a question: if I save a partner of mine from the hook after a second that he has been hung, why should the killer avoid getting a free hook? second question: due to inactivity, I am in the green rank. I often understand that the killers chase me for a while, and then, failing to catch me, they abandon me because they are wasting too much time. it even happens to me that, if I meet them by chance, they don't chase me so as not to sweat. this is the opposite of tunneling! the French is: it is not tunneling or camping that is toxic! but the way to play! am I wrong? I want to point out that I only play as a survivor!

It's the best strategy , it works and often leads to super altruistic teammates. It's not like any one expects survivors to ignore a hex or ignore a gen. We also don't expect survivors to make it fun for killers so I don't see why it matters if someone dies early.

I'm a little confused as to why you've referenced me, since your comment had no context against what I was saying in either of my two posts you tagged.
But in response, it is about some player's attitudes true, but I've faced more swf's who don't troll than those who do. Any "bully squads" I just treat as a higher difficulty level and learn from them.
I mentioned you because you seem like a person who thinks! so I wanted your feedback! ;)

Tunneling is fueling the "toxic playstyle" cycle. It is a poor strategy punishing both sides with less points. You can play however you like but you should expect 2 kills at max with a lower amount of pips and BP. Higher rank survivors will adapt and genrush you to death making the experience dull for both sides.
actually if you notice, tunneling and camping don't penalize the killer's bp much ... if you are the unfortunate survivor targeted first, you will go out with a maximum of 10000 bp ... the killer after the game is over with others 2 hooks, it will have 25,000

If I’ve said it once I’ve said it 10000 times
SWF is not the problem, 3rd party communication software is the problem, the game was made with the intention that the survivors would not know everything that is going on at all times, it was never the intention that you wouldn’t be able to play with your friends, it was however intended that you wouldn’t be able to communicate
you want a scapegoat? Blame Discord, not the SWF system
that's exactly what I meant! but you know better than me that in this forum all phenomena are heard!

@Marc_go_solo said:
When I'm in the killer role and recognise a survivor who clearly is just starting out (by how they play and not their cosmetics - beware the evil uet cunning office Dwight!), then I will go easier on them.
I'll still aim for a 2 hook and punish any bad decisions, but will let them survive and escape, as well as engage in a chase or 2 where they can hopefully learn to read the killer and learn a little more.
These people learning right now could be the MVP's of the future, if people give them a chance.

New killer experience is just as bad as new survivor so whats you point
I playing only as a survivor! for three years now, the loops have become much more difficult! but, in my opinion, this is not the problem! the problem is the swf! they must resolve the imbalance that is created by the survivors who can communicate with each other, and make the game too sweaty for the killer! Sometimes the killer gets trolled, and that's even worse! in addition even for those who play as a survivor alone, like me, being with 3 swf companions makes the game ugly and boring!

@UMCorian said:
I will say one thing: this is a game that's balance swings ridiculously depending on how you play it.
If you're in a SWF with competent friends? Forget it. You'll run circles around any killer.
If you're solo at higher ranks and everyone at least has a basic understanding of the map and looping? Eh, you'll be fine. Probably.
If you're a solo Survivor in the low ranks (like I am now - I'm a killer main trying Survivor in earnest). Holy hell, this game is killer-sided. All a killer needs to do is mindlessly follow a survivor (mind games are for nerds), down them, hook them, and wait. Every other game, you queue into a lobby filled with default skin survivors on console holding nothing. You can sorta guess how the game's going to go from there.
So killer can just take any chase he wants - even if it takes 2 minutes. Who cares about pressuring gens? You think anyone's doing a gen at low rank? That's the last place you'll find a survivor. And this is where you're going to see all the "toxic killers" who facecamp and smack you on hook. They think they're good at the game because they keep winning against Survivors who don't know what a loop or a gen is.
I now think survivors who get through these low ranks don't do so without a monster chip on their shoulders... and that's why so many Red Ranked Survivors seem like douchenozzles. And I also think this is why this game is ridiculously hard for the devs to balance. At low rank, the wrong killer buff will make this game unplayable for new and returning players if you have even one potato survivor on your team.
Thankfully, it seems all you need to do at low rank is do 1 gen, win 1 chase and unhook 1 survivor and you get a pip... so I'll be out of here soon, I hope!
quiet! I also found myself, after a 6 month break, from dbd to rank 20 ... about twenty games are enough to return to an acceptable rank! but it was fun to play against novice killers ...;)
-
this game has 2 problems: 1) toxic players on both sides 2) swf. the first problem is not solvable: we live in a frustrated society! the second problem, with a little intelligence, yes!

Too weak? Too strong? Perfect?
I personally think it’s a bit too weak since it doesn’t really stop the killer from just chasing you again. If we gave it the self preservation effect for 8 to 10 seconds I feel the perk would be perfect
I’d love to hear all your thoughts on the perk!
it would be enough to activate it at all the hooks!

I'm literally not angry- you seem to mistake sarcasm for anger; and use that as a pointless reason to condescend. My point is that; Killers ultimately don't need to give a fraction of a damn about the enjoyment survivors take out of the game; as many survivors make it clear they don't care too much for the killer's enjoyment. But aside from that; I support the notion that if one side sweats, it's only fair that the other one does. I say sweats and not 'acts toxically' because playing a game a non confrontational way isn't toxic. Playing a game to win is not toxic. Playing a game to annoy is.
Genrushing is a tactic used in order to win as efficiently as possible; camping is a tactic used to guarantee a kill/kills as efficiently as possible; hence the comparison.
Also; It's truly toxic to say particular things in the end game chat; none of the things listed in this post are toxic.
If you take sarcasm/criticism as rudeness; I have no idea how you've survived in life. being condescending; is rude. See the point i'm making here?
I fully agree ... as a main survivor I think that gen rush and camping are comparable. then, as I always say, toxicity is another thing!
-
sorry but in my opinion the problem is only one! swf yes, swf no! a killer against swf is always at a disadvantage, unless he is a phenomenal player! I say this as a main survivor! then there is another problem with no solution: toxic players cannot be eliminated ...
-
@ThiccBudhha said:
I am the tame version of the Basement Bubba. I only camp a hook at the end to get one guaranteed pick. This makes me morally superior, the survivors just don't realize it!

No I want to buff the purpose it has which is for tunneling, I find it still is a get out of jail free card in EGC with SWF's and as a Survivor I'd rather it help me stay in the game longer if I'm truly being tunneled, that's my reasoning.
then we raise the stun to 10 seconds, and eliminate its use during the final collapse. so you would fight tunneling.
-
I propose this: when the survivor uses decisive, after three steps he is hit by a sniper and hung directly on the hook! ;)
-

Honestly in it's new state I'd rather it be usable off both hooks. But maybe not usable in End Game Collapse, that's the trade off I'd take but people probably wouldn't agree with me.
would you like to nerfy its only utility?

Today i hv played like 7 games and 4 of the Games i hv lost instant because of the Frame Drops. The Lags makes the Game unplayable as Killer because it sucks if u miss a important hit because of the freezes. Buy a PS4 and try to Play Killer like the Twins or Nurse and u will see how unplayable it is.
Im not the Girl who is mad about losing but it is frustrating to lose and waste a cake because of lags
Btw i wouldnt be so mad if the Problem is just some days old but we have the lag issue already like 3 weeks and they still didnt fix it but hey they fix the Crown issue in 2 hours 🤷🏻♀️
I understand you! but i have a ps4! problems I know them well! to play down: I want more cakes !!!!! ;)

I think it's absurd to talk about nerf! you can only use it once during a chase! everyone uses it even though SB is much better! but I don't want to walk all over the map!

No, despite the constant freezes you can still win and capitalize over survivor mistakes, its the process of getting there that's annoying. Literally I can be mid chase and because someone starts healing someone across the map my game freezes to the point where the chases isn't worth it anymore and I have to just drop it. You can know how to play and still be screwed over by problems that aren't your fault, but are issues with the game. Its not fun to play like that.
in the same way it is not funny when I play as a survivor that the killer gives a hit while I am taking a test, I fail it for a lag ... that I am going in one direction and suddenly I find myself against a wall! but it happens once in 10, not always!

That is not his point. His point is that the game stutters when he uses a killers ability, and that can cause him to lose a survivors. Basically putting him at a disadvantage.
I got it! but I repeat: it is not unplayable! even as a survivor lately DH sometimes does not work on ps4 ... between "sometimes" and "unplayable" there is a lot of difference!

Playing Killer is unplayable now because u cant hit anything Killers like Twins, Nurse, Blight, Deathslinger and other Killer who need to hit whit there Power are unplayable because every time u use ur Power u get hard lags so u cant hit
We cant wait until the Midchapter Patch we need a Hotfix for now only Survivor CAN Play the Event because as Killer it is impossible
there are strong killer players and weak killer players! the game certainly has problems, but it's not unplayable ... if you know how to play!

In this game you can only hold 1 million bloodpoints. This is quote annoying when a new chapter comes out or a new event starts.
What I mean by "save bloodpoints" is completing all the archive challenges but also not collecting all the rewards so I basically bank some bloodpoints. So when a new chapter drops or event starts I will have my million bloodpoints saved + the extra bloodpoints I haven't collected yet in the archives.
Ah ok....... Tnx!
