Where you get your sources that it is going to be resident evil chapter next?
It was announced during a Resident Evil live stream or something like that.

They cancelled this idea IIRC
I personally think this and so many of DbD's problems would be solved if new DS and new BT were just baked into the survivor basekit, and Corrupt Intervention was baked into the killers' basekit
They didn’t directly cancel it but the idea developed to another concept that not only affects the early phase of the game

didnt leatherface come with one of the swamp maps?
I guess yeah. But that isn’t directly connected to the license..
-
I have a friend that I rarely play with without comms. But he isn’t too invested in the game anyway and we are just completely playing casually and for fun, we at least know we don’t sandbag another and actually try to help (most of the time).
i also sometimes add randoms that played very well and then I also only play without comms, which is usually fun but also keeps the immersion and not knowing how the teammate(s) might react to certain situations.

Yeah I think Blight is amazing Idk maybe its the fact that there has not been a new map is probably why I'm not as excited anymore for a new chapter
I really expect a new map for such a big license with so many iconic places though! And I really think Capcom doesn’t want their license to go without a map as well
-

After blight, twins, and trickster? My expectations couldn't possibly get any lower. The devs do have a way of proving me wrong every time I think that though. There is a chance for redemption however. Maybe the devs will finally get their act together and make a chapter that doesn't upset the entire community. I hope at least.
What’s wrong with Blight and Twins though?
except for the bugs of course, both perform pretty well, Blight even better than Twins.

I feel like that alien from movie The Thing would be really cool.
Imagine having ability to take shape of other survivors and sneak attack, it would be absolute panic and distrust mode.
It would suck versus swf though..
The devs have commented some time ago that they don’t want to create such an ability (but they also said no Clowns and later the Clown was added.. so who knows..)
they would have to make some spin on that to also make it work against SWF..

RE will get a map, every licenced chapter did. Maybe we get even 2 survivors instead of one.
But that has nothing to do with All kill chapter not having a map. They said no new map until map reworks are finished, so original chapters didn't get new maps since those aren't that important to them as licenced ones
Well, Leatherface and Ghostface didn’t come with new maps. But there are reasons for that I guess (LF is only a paragraph and GF was only the mask and there is no map associated with that)
i fully expect one map for RE as well!
-
Well they did have their own asymmetrical multiplayer game after all..
i guess it will be a similar case to Stranger Things: One killer, two survivors. And that chapter was a little bit more expensive than the other chapters because of it.
i don’t really see multiple maps though (but i would definitely like it; Realm: Raccon City, Maps: Police Station, Streets of Raccon City, the NEST).
-
It would be a mess to implement it in this game. People could easily abuse this with intentionally DCing shortly before getting downed and then rejoining after their friends opened the hatch with a key for example.
it’s really sad that you get punished for a bad connection that’s probably not even your fault, but there is nothing the devs can really do about it as it’s impossible to determine the cause of a DC in every case. Every time you DC you are destroying the match for the remaining players and it’s up to you to make sure to have a stable connection before entering a multiplayer online game

there's a few chapters i'd just love, but none that i can say are my "dream chapter".
a Doctor Who chapter, where the survivor is Rose Tyler and the killer is a Cyberman, or something similar.
a Scary Movie chapter that adds Brenda & Cindy, and gives Ghostface a few new cosmetics like the smiling mask
(whispers very quietly so people don't get angry about nothing) a fnaf chapter
a Bloodstained chapter, with Johannes as the survivor and Gremory or Gebel as the killer
a Dracula chapter where they just add Dracula & Dracula's Castle as a map. he's public domain, there's literally nothing stopping 'em.
and, as is standard, a Monster Hunter chapter where a Rathalos is a killer because he needs to be in everything i guess. this one might be sarcasm.
Brenda needs a perk that gives her the ability punch the killer to stun them but after that she will be exposed and Mori-able for the remainder of the trial!
-
I think it’s somewhat reasonable for licensed content to be aura cell (=real money) only, since the license holder always gets something for those purchases as well.
There are way too many original cosmetics that are aura cell only though, they should just make those available for shards. At least for specific recolors like they did with bunny Feng

So what is the relevance of 4-leaf clovers in RE?
when showing the charm you see it is surrounded by 4-leaf clovers. I only watched let’s plays of some of the RE games so I might be just missing something?

AI wouldn't work for this game, and would probably destroy the servers somehow (^:
You can however find casuals in discord or reddit if you must go against super polite / casual survivor players. There are clubs for that
AI works in the mobile version though. Didn’t play it myself but I heard it actually works pretty well. (And I am pretty sure they are eventually introducing AI for custom matches in the future.)

I just thought it is weird they announced it months before it’s scheduled to be released.
I like resident evil especially the remakes, but I’m still disappointed it’s coming to DBD at the moment. They’ve not released a new map in a very long time excluding revisions of course, and unless this chapter comes with a themed map I’d remain disappointed.
Pretty sure they want to deliver a licensed chapter as big as RE with a new map. Just because they released original chapters without maps (while still being open to maybe add those in the future) doesn’t mean it’s reasonable to assume they won’t release a map here.
-
Wow. You really showed her. Good work.
So why exactly would you have tunneled her specifically regardless of the totem? And what does the totem have to do with this?

Gotcha, I will have to play more attention when the game is starting.
It was actually very helpful when I introduced a friend to the game. He would tell me which hint he sees and I could prepare him a little bit. With the Amount of killers it would be way too much input to explain every single killer before going into matches.
-
Capcom/RE wanted to announce their chapter this soon. That’s not on BHVR, they usually keep it secret until one week or even up to one hour before the PTB.
This doesn’t have anything to do with Trickster.
And we all knew that there would be an anniversary chapter with a new killer.
Stop complaining about literally everything and start to give constructive criticism where it is actually needed (there is enough in this game really). Otherwise no one can take your complaints seriously.

I have never noticed this? I always get the same type of hints before the game I dont think I ever noticed killer hints?
It’s really just the first tip when you haven’t faced that specific killer 2 or 3 times already. After that you won’t get the tips anymore.
-
Alien...
but I really like their current licensed chapters and love upcoming RE chapter so I am fine with it missing. Kinda.
-
I expect double survivor chapter, Jill and Chris with Leon and Claire as legendarys (I kinda think they are more fitting for the crowd that would purchase skins somehow... don’t ask me why)
For Killer a Tyrant, Mr. X or Nemesis with the other as legendary skin.
is there something that could work as legendary for another killer, like the Rabbits from Silent Hill for Legion?
-
Sometimes I even forget that I am injured myself when I run Iron Will...
-
as far as I can remember they first mentioned it in the 4th year anniversary - so not even a year ago.
last dev Q&A they have said that this concept has developed to a concept that’s not only affecting early game but the whole game.
i would assume they will talk about this in the next anniversary stream

He seems a bit too similar to Billy, from what I’ve seen. Am I wrong?
I would say they play very differently.
i myself can’t get anything done with Billy but I can handle Bubba pretty well.
you don’t have Billys mobility but at most loops you can get either a down or get rid of the pallet pretty easily, once you get around corners easily of course.
-
Alien all the way.
nothing against the other licenses though.

Smh you are forgetting a classic, Pinochios Revenge but on a serious note i would love a The Crypt TV or a Thing Chapter
there are some.. uh.. ‚speculations‘ currently going around that there might be some Crypt TV stuff coming to DbD.
though it might not be a chapter. And nothing officially confirmed as of now.
-
I actually always try to get the daily’s done.
Survivor daily’s I will attempt always and for killer I will delete the ones I can’t play, but often times they decide which killer I play.
Some of those are a little bit frustrating though. For example the Pyramid Head and Clown ones I feel like I throw some of the matches just to get the daily done..
-
I still think extending a chase and wasting the killers time through looping etc is the better way to go and will stay the Meta.
Not saying Lucky Break won’t be useful and against certain killers it might very well come in handy, but it’s still very situational, needs at least 2 perks to be useful and is limited use. Killers may have to adapt if many people start using it.
Still think the reactions are a little bit reminiscent to For the People, Power Struggle, Soul Guard etc. All of these were said to be the new Meta..
-
@Canas said:
I don't get the people who seriously think he's fine after these lackluster changes. It still takes 2-3 gens just to get your first hook if the survivors aren't complete potatoes, at that point the game's almost as good as lost for Trickster.
I am not saying Trickster doesn’t need a buff or isn’t weak or anything...
but... I thought this was the case for every killer and that’s the reason why the game is supposed to be so survivor sided?
-
Not hating it but there is stuff there I don’t really like: the brightness (doesn’t have to be super dark but a little bit darker), the ground looks barren and the hay bales kinda look cheap..
but overall I am okay with it, but it could have definitely been better
-
Rank rewards will be introduced once Skill based matchmaking is turned on permanently to give rank another meaning.
Then on rank reset you will also always get set back to rank 20.

You still get the aura reveal every 30 secs.
OoO in its current state is broken - especially when used in 4man SWF with comms. Some kind of nerf was necessary and the devs actually asked how the community would like this change and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.
-
I still want to see Carol from the TV series as a survivor. But I know that’s very unlikely..

As someone who prestiged every single Character, yes, I would like to hear something about that as well. And I also hope that it is not only something which helps people to prestige, like keeping Perks or something like that.
But I am pretty sure it will be something minor. In the end it could just be a Charm.
Just a charm would be disappointing, but if it’s of the same quality as the vinyl puppets or the level 70 charms from the rifts like lunar lantern it would at least be something :)
-
I would be more interested in getting to know what happened to additional prestige rewards, which was mentioned in the 4th anniversary stream, I think?

Read the lore, check out the game itself
Once again, flashlight do hurt killers for a reason. Some killers are also hurt or disrupted by flashlights for a reason. F/e Hag or Wraith, whose powers come straight from Entity are extremely vulnerable to light.
I know the game and most in-Game lore/description. And nothing there says that sunrise would be contradicting anything, especially when it’s part of a realm that gets created by the Entity from memory’s.
For Wraith and Nurse I think they even gave another reason for the light vulnerability, and also explained why Spirit isn’t affected as well, something about the first two entering some other plain/dimension. Hag I am not sure about, but every other killer is not directly affected even if they have Entity-given powers.
-
I usually use up all items and offerings (except brown offerings) and only level up to 50, to not waste any BP..
that way I play the character with a limited range of perks and found cool uses for perks I would normally never touch.

No I didn't. I never stated that such info is given in benedict entries. I'm saying they are good way to start learning the lore.
It really seems like you can’t provide any proof to your claim they are contradicting themselves with the original lore by adding maps set in sunrise/sunset instead of night-time..

Read the lore and you'll find the answers out yourself.
A little hint: flashlights hurt killers for a reason.
Also can you tell me where I can read that lore? I can’t remember there being lore entries outside character backstories and item/perk/offering/cosmetic description in-game.

Lightborn? Moonlight (which is just reflected sunlight)? Any other light source in the game? Those Moonlight offerings that made maps very bright?

it doesn't evolve, it degrades. It gets retconned billion times and turned into a ######### fanfic. Couldn't care less, but seeing them contradicting OG lore so much is just hurtful.
I can't imagine DbD having daylight maps in 2016, moreover, I am sure that if we asked devs about such maps back then in 2016, the answer would be "no".
You still haven’t provided the original source of your claim, have you?
i am not that well into the lore so I don’t know, but there are some people here that asked you for that...

We’re back with another Developer Update, a series of posts going over the biggest changes coming to Dead by Daylight. This time around, we’ll cover a long list of Killer, perk, and quality of life updates that’ll appear in the upcoming Player Test Build (PTB).
Killer Updates
The Nightmare
For some time, The Nightmare has stood out from the crowd with a particularly high kill rate, averaging roughly 3 kills per match. With that in mind, we’ve made some slight tweaks to bring him closer in line with the rest of the roster.
We’ve decreased his movement speed while placing a snare to 4.0m/s (previously no speed change) and reduced the maximum number of placed snares from 8 to 5. Likewise, the maximum number of dream pallets has been reduced from 10 to 7.
A handful of add-ons have also received changes. Add-ons which previously reduced action speeds now make various actions louder (repairing generators, grunts of pain, and footsteps). Black Box also has a brand-new effect: When an exit gate is opened, it is blocked for sleeping Survivors for the next 10 seconds.
Alarm clocks have also received some tweaks to make their effects clearer and more rewarding. Using an alarm clock will now make you fully immune to sleep— including sleep caused by a Killer hit — for 30 seconds. This effect is now shown on the HUD by turning your sleep timer yellow and having it tick down.
With these changes, we hope to promote more strategic use of his Dream Traps rather than placing them constantly during a chase, as well as encouraging Survivors to seek out and use alarm clocks. We’ll monitor his performance closely and adjust where necessary going forward.
The Demogorgon
Our focus for The Demogorgon is to give it more mobility with its portals. We’ve made the following changes to base portals:
- Increased speed while in a portal
- Reduced cooldown after exiting a portal
- Increased Undetectable length after exiting a portal
On top of these changes, we have done a complete pass on The Demogorgon’s add-ons to make some of the lesser used ones more appealing. Here's a sneak peek at a couple of them:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/RQWF58IGC8D7/demogorgonaddon1.png
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/8110FTZU5IPH/demogorgonaddon2.png
The Huntress
Don’t panic: We have not changed The Huntress’ base kit. We have, however, done a pass on her add-ons to bring them up to modern standards. Yes, this included the infamous Iridescent Head.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/HCEUQ8C7ECI4/huntressaddon1.png
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/AEXY9C0NQAL4/huntressaddon2.png
The Twins
Last but not least, we have a small set of tweaks for The Twins.
- Increased cooldown after successfully downing a Survivor with Victor from 3 to 5 seconds
- Camera control is now immediately restored when taking control of Charlotte
- Silencing Cloth: Increased Undetectable duration to 20 seconds upon taking control of Charlotte
- Iridescent Pendant: Increased Exposed duration to 30 seconds when a Survivor crushes an idle Victor
Perk Updates
Small Game
It has come to our attention that some of you really hate small piles of bones. To aid you in your totem destroying mission, we’ve made some long-requested changes to Small Game:
- Small Game now shows the number of remaining totems as tokens on the perk
- The detection range decreases by 5° for each totem cleansed
- Small Game no longer detects Killer traps
These changes improve Small Game’s ability to track and cleanse totems while also removing the antiquated part that only applies to specific Killers with traps.
Lucky Break
Lucky Break now hides scratch marks in addition to blood pools to help you lose the Killer. To compensate, the total duration of has been reduced to 70/80/90 seconds.
Soul Guard
A small change here: Soul Guard now has a cooldown of 30 seconds after activating.
Realistically, this won’t affect the vast majority of cases. This change is purely to prevent stacking healing speeds and Soul Guard from getting out of hand.
Open Handed
Take two for Open Handed: We’ve slotted this update back in for the upcoming PTB.
Open Handed now has an increased effect (8/12/16 meters), but no longer stacks with itself. This makes the perk more appealing on its own without needing to stack it with other Survivors in the match.
Zanshin Tactics
A very straightforward change: Zanshin Tactics is now permanently active and also has a larger range.
Borrowed Time
To remove some confusing intricacies with how Borrowed Time interacts with some Killers and the Oblivious status effect, we have removed the terror radius condition from the perk. To compensate, we have reduced the duration of the Endurance effect to 8/10/12 seconds.
Object of Obsession
This PTB also features the newly reworked Object of Obsession: Any time your aura is revealed to the Killer, their aura is revealed to you and gain a 2/4/6% bonus to healing, repairing, a cleansing speed. If you are the obsession, your aura is revealed to the Killer for 3 seconds every 30 seconds.
This new version has a few benefits:
- Being able to track the Killer
- Being able to deduce which aura reading perks the Killer is using when Object of Obsession activates
- Being able to attract the Killer and then sneak away before they can get there
With these changes, we hope to make Object of Obsession a more fun and interactive perk for both sides.
Miscellaneous Balance
Toolboxes
The chance to receive a skill check while using a toolbox has been increased. This change makes toolboxes feel more interactive while they’re in use and is totally not because the lead designer had a skill check challenge and got unlucky three matches in a row.
Hatches
Another small tweak: We have decreased the time the hatch remains open after a key is used from 30 seconds to 10 seconds. Like before, if the hatch closes naturally (is not kicked shut), the End Game Collapse will not start.
Please note that this is not the final change keys will be receiving. We’ll share more info on the future of keys as soon as we can.
HUD Update
For the 4.7.0 PTB, we have made some more changes to the HUD; this time focusing on the visibility of Killer powers on the Survivor portraits. In this update, we have made improvements to:
- The Doctor’s Madness effect (also made it easier to differentiate between different levels of Madness)
- The Nightmare’s Dream World effect & sleep timer
- The Plague’s Infection meter
- Stalk meters & Ghost Face’s mark
Additionally, we’ve also adjusted the Survivor portraits so they no longer obstruct the bottom of power indicators.
Struggle Update
In an ongoing effort to improve accessibility, we have changed the way struggling works starting in the PTB. Rather than needing to mash a button, Survivors in their second hook stage will now receive occasional skill checks. The success zones are fairly large as we’re not looking to make struggling more difficult/deadly at this time.
Missing one of these skill checks will remove a chunk of your struggle meter. If you do not attempt to hit two consecutive skill checks, you will be immediately sacrificed. As you receive skill checks, your struggle meter will gradually decrease at the same rate as before.
Our goal with this change is to make struggling more accessible to players with repetitive strain injuries while keeping struggling as an interactive mechanic.
Graphical Update: Coldwind Farm
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/EDCPLO9Z7L18/barn.png
I was going to put a funny intro here, but it was too corny.
In case you missed it, the next realm slated for a graphical update is the Coldwind Farm! Check out some screenshots from the upcoming rework.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/3MF8JFEUU4AA/farmhouse.png

https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/4OAYHGTSUB0J/silo.png
On that note, we’ve reached the end of this Developer Update. All of the changes mentioned above will be available for testing in this week’s Player Test Build, starting April 13th. We look forward to reading your feedback once you’ve had a chance to try them out!
-
I guess it is at least fitting to her lore :)
but I haven’t noticed this in my games, and I have mainly played her myself and don’t play like a total scumbag (at least I don’t intend to do so)
-
Judging by the long shadows and the pretty dark sky, Coldwind will still not be set at broad daylight but sunrise/sunset just like Glenvale.
also as already mentioned multiple times, the realms are literally completely created by the Entity from the memory’s of the killers.. it’s not like the trials are happening on actual earth.
-
Hillbilly is pretty rare since that rework. But when I face one... they actually pretty much perform the same as before.
-
Lunar Lantern.
closely followed by the Vial and Snow Globe.
-
It should be rank based. Plus/minus 8 ranks is the theoretical threshold/goal.
BUT this isn’t working at all, as have the devs acknowledged. They are working on a new matchmaking system using a separate hidden rank that calculates your skill based on parameters they won’t reveal. They have made some tests on the live servers already. No confirmation when this will go live though.
