  • Your title is saying that NO ONE turns crossplay off.

While the statements is... kinda about it being off.

Since trapper is the the very first, I think it’s suiting that the entity manifests in a much more aggressive form. The events is kind of like a very slight, but fun buff for killers. And survivors get the chance to match that buff by interacting with things in the map. And for Variety’s sake, If it’s trapper week, you can play any killer you want in his event but you won’t get the interactions. that’s still a debate tho.

-Trapper can interact with the entity in certain locations. When you approach you can give a trap to it, in return it will become a blighted trap. They can’t be disarmed. Blighted affect washes away if activated.(can’t place blighted traps in front of exit gate, only defaults... maybe) I’m not set on this idea tho, it’s open for change

-survivors can collect serum from little bloats around the map. Once enough serum is collected, they go to the same thing killer interacts with and the entity coats them in blight. This blight coat has no affect until being hit. Getting hit gives extra speed speed to gain distance, making you discouraging to chase.

-legion is open for many opportunities, it’s in the name. This is IMO what his power should’ve been but for the event. Legion can enter a locker to embody it. Blocking it off for use and gets a notification if disturbed. Once inside you can look around and see auras of lockers and which one you want to pop out of. you can do this a maximum amount if 6 times so by the end of the trial legion is more of a, well legion I guess lol if it’s too cheesy to do something relating to his name then do something like this.

Legion can interact with a pillar or something that gives him a crazy feral. fills his frenzy bar by 15% for each vault he does, cannot abuse the same window. Lasts only in the duration of one frenzy. So basically always getting around the map

survivors can interact with spray cans and Mark 1 vault location. Get points for doing so and The survivor who sprayed it can vault thru that window and blocks it for the killer for 5 seconds. Entity burns up paint . Spray cans are limited so use em wisely

if that’s not fun or fair then something else can be done. With all my suggestions

Ah so now, we're just temporary buffing the killer and survivor. That's not what I understood from this: a clown event, cool joker boxes that survivors wind up, clown can change the colors of his gas that week?

In one post you're saying one thing, in other completely diffrent thing. While stlil on topic.

  • Getting? Weren't they out of hand for like over a year now?

Read the edit then, fuc you guys. I clearly said it would be on different tabs. If you don’t want to play events then don’t. Read the 2 killer themed events. I didn’t wanna say this in the beginning I honestly thought someone would expand on this. We can obviously have Christmas events during Christmas you doofs that’s not what I’m saying... I was giving a bloody example for the 2nd time.

On the separate tab, it would be celebrating a new killer every other week? that’s the dbd theme I was hoping someone would bring up but guess I have to. Yea it’s a lot of work but so is making the new game mode that people are talking about wanting. That’s one of the most logical themed events I can imagine bringing into dbd without having to create a whole new deal.

if this idea is so horrible I won’t push it any further, but nobody seems to see what I’m actually picturing.

Ah, so you mean the rift! it would be celebrating a new killer every other week?

Just instead of every weak, it's slightly longer and just once. And usually for 2 killers and survivors!

I see what you're proposing, and for killers like clown, plague, nightmare, that could definitely work. But it wouldn't really work for every killer. Like, how would you celebrate Trapper or Legion? Aside from "yay, they're the killer of the week guys!"

  • @matthewg64 said:

“Big” occasions. Firecracker gens! Yay. Pop pop. Nothing interactive, hardly ever. The Most action that’s allowed is a little pull on something and consume it animation. Are you gunna deny the fact they’re like that? They’re so uninspired, I can’t believe the reaction I got on this forum. We really don’t wanna change huh

I... didn't deny that They aren't... the best lately but that's besides the point. Making an event on 24/7 wouldn't help that either. So I don't see your point too.

  • Because we've been like that for over 3 years now? Themed events, for big occasions. They aren't... the best lately but that's besides the point. There shouldn't be an "event 24/7" because that just makes those themed events less of an event.

Also that are coherent to your entity theme = Blight. It's Halloween but also in entity mood.

  • If you're really facing body blockers EVERY MATCH... I recommend using Iron Grasp/Mad Grit. Yes you're using a perk, but you basically guarantee that won't happen to you again.

    Also, what is hook... wh-something?

  • They are themed events for a reason. Does any game you play does that?

Bad killers can easily win the game by setting up a tunnel mixed camp.Free exchange if someone comes while camping.Tunnels win again

    1. What do you think "winning a game" means?
    2. Again, bad survivors. Good survivors will just rush gens when someone is camped.
  • "Bad" killers will only win the game if they're playing against bad survivors. Or survivors make many mistakes.

  • Wait, did protection hits break then?

They did fix them a while back so they make more sense.

Well, I hope yall get keyed in your next games and you deal with it. I'm out

"We know keys are broken, and will get changed. For now you literally have to deal with it"

  • Or "competetive" players can play casual mode. Cause, y'know, it would be easier/less annoying technically. Although upcoming rank rewards would like maybe for a week make them play ranked mode.

  • No.

You sure? I still crap my pants when a Myers or Ghostface pops out of nowhere. Or when I think I escaped the Hag and she just out in front of me.

    Yes.

And those are supposed to have jump scares by design. And if you get scared by them once in a match, you probably won't get scared the 2nd time.

  • 1) Is just Mettle of Man but instead of getting hit, the generators get completed. 2 generators will almost always get completed too. (unless you mean that YOU must complete the generators)

    2) Has a pre-activation. AND it exhaust you. Why would it exhaust you?

    3) I do like this one!

  • That wouldnt change much... Or anything. With 5 totems, 2 hex totems and 3 tokens you still use all of the totems.

  • Ah you mean legendary. Yeah if licensers allow it I wouldnt mind it.

  • Changing a number is still easier and faster than adding new animations and new mechanics.

  • People wanted this perk buffed exactly this way for months.

It finally gets this and now it will be a "problem". Ugh.

you're right there was that bug totally forgot. Maybe if they tweaked the whole falling animation with the perk it could be better. But I don't think it would be void. A stun is a stun. And time is time in DBD. Id take a 2.5 second stun on a killer opposed to getting picked up and taken straight to a hook without any chance to escape whatsoever. A Survivor who only has a 2.5 second stun to work with would have to be a lot more careful about their playstyle. It would eliminate a lot of those annoying instances where survivors will literally hop all in lockers and play very unsafe because they knew they had 5 seconds of time to work with if the killer picks them up. yk?

It's actually 1,5 seconds to escape.

While it removes the annoyances from killer side, it just becomes a really sad anti-tunneling perk (when not the obsession)

It costs 3,000 to unlock a perk from the shrine, and you’re going to have to grind out the bloodweb to get it onto the character you want anyways. Besides, I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want to try to earn all of the adept trophies. Don’t you like this game? Why are you so stuck on playing the same character(s) all of time? How boring. Don’t you ever want to challenge yourself?

Aside from that, solidarity and poised are both decent underrated perks. Jane is worth getting.

It costs 2000 or 2700. So actually you save 3000 if you happen to buy all the perks. But of course it depends on the shrine.

  • You see, on paper it's a good idea. But in reality it sometimes would be a bad idea.

Imagine, exactly as your scenario, a random goes to save you from a hook. The killer comes back to the hook, but the survivor DOES happen to have BT, you just don't know that. Obviously you would prevent the unhooking in that scenario, no? And that would hurt your team even more.(you still on hook, teammate now probably injured)

  • I recommend trying the other role, if one role is taking a while. Usually the queues have opposite queue times.

(if survivor is taking long, killer should be fast and vice verse)

Very rarely if ever is what I'm pointing at with how much people here claim that it's such a big issue.

Struggling is there indicating effort exertion. In your terms "annoying". All it is is an easy, constant and continuous focus test. A situation is going on around you and a person can only juggle between various tasks while they can't truly consciously multitask. So anything going on around you that gets you out of that focus can potentially end you on stage 2. If the goal were to hold a button you could have dropped into a coma mid "struggle" and you wouldn't change the outcome of the situation.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1845989#Comment_1845989

Congratulations! You triggered a skill check which you didn't hit of course, because that's not holding M1 now, is it. The killer saw the indicator and made their way to you, grabbed you off the gen (Wouldn't want to stop holding that one button now, would you?) and hooked you. Your 3 escape attempts all failed quickly as you passed on to stage two. Wouldn't want to hurt yourself now or irreversibly damage the control device you're using along with the fact that your gloriously unbeatable one button strategy can't fail, you do not bother yourself with struggling as you die and wonder about the concept of how judging an interconnected system based on one secluded component is stupid.

So, where's "effort" during first phase then? You just sit there, without even holding a button. Only effort there is, is holding a button to maybe escape the hook, but that's only by choice.

Also I'm gonna use an example someone else mentioned (and tagged you).

Me and others on Xbox can die on hook while struggling whenever the frames drop. This can be caused by a gen popping nearby, sloppy being applied, exposed/NOED procting, Myers teiring up, Lithe and/or exhaustion kicking in, many more. Thankfully the recent changes to chests seem a to have taken them off this list, they were notorious for causing it. - JPLongstreet

And again, i'm gonna point out this: It doesn't have to be fully automatic. Making it skillcheck based similiarly to Pyramid Head could also help. Automatic however removes a lot of issues consoles and "weaker" computers could be facing.

Wait why would 1. be removed because of killer MMR queues, just block the switch button when you press ready would fix that right?

Oh wait, my bad. Was thinking of the wrong thing.

That was removed because of how Survivor Lobby now behaves.

    1. This was removed, actually! EDIT: That was removed because of how Survivor Lobby now behaves.

The killer is by default at a disadvantage because that's how asymmetric multiplayer goes. If everyone in the game is of equal ability, the survivors will win. (Especially if you add the typical 3rd party VoIP among teaming survivors into the mix.)

If you happen to miss the timing, you died and the killer's game just became that much easier. A killer has to worry about remaining generators generators along with the hooked survivor locations, which probably have at least one survivor going to help them and any other survivors are probably doing gens. It happens very rarely if ever and how exactly do you expect to miss a button hold?

Additionally, if you realistically have no way failing at struggling, what's the point of the second stage then? For you to hang around casually without the typical escape prompts you had on stage 1? With literally no threat whatsoever?

It happens very rarely if ever and how exactly do you expect to miss a button hold?

Very rarely if ever. Why should it happen at all then? This is something that can change how the match functions in a single second which you said yourself. Why should it be an annoying mechanic?

  • @Mastermind said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1845328#Comment_1845328

    1. I have the worst internet of anyone I know and I have never ran into a lag issue outside of being put in an American match, but that's obvious since they're playing from across the globe. And if you have no choice on the ISP then you have found a business opportunity.
    2. Scroll wheel doesn't trivialize anything. It makes it easier because a scroll puts it many more inputs in a single slow scroll than a single button press does. But you still have the time it takes you to reset your finger position on the wheel. That's the time you can still F up on if you're bad with timing.
    3. Well if they're not, then they're doing exactly what the device they are using was manufactured to be used to. Which means the wear is so miniscule, if any actual damage occurs, you're likely using an item that has years extensive use on it.
    4. You're perfectly free to not wiggle or struggle in the game. Noone is forcing you to do so. As a survivor, if you die, you can move on to the next game immediately or watch the game via spectator. If you don't want to die, then metaphorically get off your ass and do something about it. The killer is already at a disadvantage in general and people here are trying to make the disadvantage even greater.

Okay i'm just curious - How would auto struggle disadvantage the killer?

  • @Mastermind said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1845250#Comment_1845250

Because struggling is meant to be struggling. As in requiring effort. You mess up the timing, you die. I'd love to see someone mess up on holding down a button...

Secondly wiggling. Wiggling under default circumstances takes a certain amount of time which the killer has guaranteed. Apart from perks, the player's inefficiency adds to this time and it can lead to a hook that wouldn't have been possible of the survivor had been better.

Same way how if you get good at hitting great skill checks, you can progress a gen faster, shaving off the expected time till a gen completes by an overall short amount of time.

All of these mechanics add controlled randomness while keeping it within boundaries small enough so that it's not entirely up to RNG. Unlike escaping trapper traps for example, where there aren't small alterations. The survivor can either escape literally faster than it'd take them to disarm the trap or spend half a decade stuck there. And the massive difference between outcomes ruins it's reliability.

There's a thin boundary where interactions are needed and not.

Making (atleast struggling) automatic removes these issues:

    • Dying because of a lag-drop
    • Dying because you misjudged the timing once.
    • Potential break of equipment
    • "finger/hand" fatigue

And even making these skillcheck based would remove atleast 3 of those as an alternative. Similiarly to Pyramid Head's Cages.

  • would be my Xbox account

keep in mind I never made a new Xbox account

    I'm... so confused.

OP basically means you have to run some obsession perk as a survivor in solo queue, as you can't trust there will always be an obsession; and the two perks mentioned are basically the only viable of the two. The others are pretty laughable.

    Ah okay. Yeah makes sense.

I wonder what could be causing it tho.

  • No. Why? Cause he's a power technically.

He should be an exception on this cause he's humanoid but whatever.

  • .... Why can killers camp over and over?

    1. This shouldn't be tied to prestige. Yeah prestige would do "something" but the diffrence between P1 and P3 is pretty significent
    2. Again, I will post this in every idea related to this - There would be meta survivors (even more than now). Possibly it would be Kate/Jane alongside Claudette.
    3. Let's say I like playing stealthy but my character I already prestiged because I like their design specializes in being chased. Do I just play with them or Prestige 3 another survivor?
    4. if (some) effects are weak, why should they exist in the first place?
  • @Aven_Fallen said:

No. The Tokens for Stake Out should be seen as a reward for being in a risky situation - being in the Killers Terror Radius while remaining unnoticed. Being slugged does not really deserve a reward, in fact, you failed by getting downed, so you should not get a reward for it.

Doesn't pebble get earned while slugged?

(I know that you get it while being hooked not sure about being slugged)

  • Ah yes, change it so killers want to camp if they see ANYONE in the radius.

  • What does this accomplish if the other players wanted to do something in the bloodweb or loadout... or even make a sandwitch?

It's hard to do accurate reports on psn because you cant give a description to send a report; It just immediately sends. Which is why I'm asking for something more comprehensive and if they dont think some of those things are reasons to ban someone than no wonder there are so many people ruining matches and making the game unfun. And yes I have read what is and is not a bannable offense in game.

Well, they didn't send you toxic messages in-game. It would be hard for DBD itself to see those messages, no?
