Dude, frenzy over=scratchmarks again, also you can use bloodhound and NEVER lose a survivor unless he's no mither.

So this is a topic that I've always been curious about but have never seen a real direct answer, so hopefully somebody can clear the air for me. I think everyone is familiar with the whole basement stair scenario, where someone is rescued from the basement hooks with borrowed time, and the killer stands at the top of the stairs for a chunk of time until the effect wears off. This has been in the game for a very long time, and I've never heard any news about making any changes, but is this something that was intended by the devs? It seems a little broken to be able to hard counter a perk like that without any real mechanics. Is this something that is a reportable offense? I'm not trying to sound like a whiny survivor main, just hoping to get a clear answer about something that brings me much frustration. It is working as intended and it is not reportable. The only thing that would make it reportable is if the killer kept the survivors trapped for an extended period of time. That is considered taking the game hostage. But waiting 20 seconds or whatever until borrowed time runs out is fine.
So would it be ok if survivors found a way to trap a Myers who was in EW3 somewhere that he couldn't hit anyone as long as they moved after EW3 faded? That's what I'm getting.
If that were theoretically possible, yes. Assuming that it was within the games intended mechanics and not a glitch or bug that was being abused. But since survivors body blocking without being able to be hit isn't intended then I don't see how it could happen.
Also let's ignore that survivors being able to block hooks without being hit would completely break the game and make it unplayable while letting BT run out in the basement is just a fuckup for a single survivor.
-
The only time where 360s will happen is when a survivor knows he's about to get hit like in the open. Just take your time with the swing, take a step back and hold down m1, it's not hard. But then again ur a guy who calls waiting out BT by blocking somebody an exploit. Am I exploiting if a survivor blocks himself in a corner and I rev up my chainsaw with billy/LF?

Doing it to counter borrowed time is not bannable. They could just heal to counter that anyway.Doing it to hold the game hostage is bannable. If you grab a video of it and send it to support, we'll take care of it. Remember to report it in game too.
Ok so if survivors ever find a way to block a hook without the killer being able to hook them that better be left alone too.
Completely breaking the base game = outplaying a broken Perk. Love how your mind works.
But go on, make the basement safe too, see how long your queues get after BHVR starts continuously nerfing killers again.
It's not "outplaying". It's just as broken as using 360. Abusing bad mechanics to get an unfair advantage.
360 is also literally outplaying ppl. the [BAD WORD] you on about.
Abuse of broken mechanics is outplaying? Riiiiight. I should totally miss a swing because you came closer to me? Bullshit. The [BAD WORD] are you on about. 360 is using broken mechanics.
Get a better mouse, like mine literally only cost me 150 bucks and I very rarely get 360'd

The only thing I learned playing against Legion, is that I'm healing myself 24/7 and it's annoying af.. I thought Spirit and Nurse were bad because they down you faster than you can look, but Legion is just as annoying as Freddy and his dreamworld and doc with his madness (doc isn't that bad tho) Besides that, we had some games where more people escaped and some where nobody escaped so far
You shouldn't even be healing, there's no reason to, his deep wound won't down you.
Uhm yes it does?
Deep Wounds does not down you. He literally has to M1 with a normal attack...while moving at hag speed...
For him to down you actually with Feral Frenzy he has to hit you at least 4 times...that includes the fatigue time after hits and his power fully recovering multiple times to be used again...
So what happens at the end of the bleed out timer?
Nothing, because unless someones brain dead they have mended the Deep Wounds away or the timer hasn't even gone down at all because they are in a chase still. To go down from the Deep Wounds timer you literally had to escape the killer and then do nothing.
I don't know how you play Legion, or how the killers you play against play him, but I get hit with Frenzy and then he chases someone else so I have to mend myself and - since I don't wanna get surprised half life - I heal to full health because I don't use SB to run away as soon as he appears.
If you are full healing against Legion then you are playing wrong, that's the issue. You are wasting gen time. There is no reason to heal against him. Mend and then do gens.
And then he comes around a corner, without frenzy & I’m dead.. no thank you
These are the ppl that the devs balance the game around, we're basically #########.

This almost feels like a response post to Monto's new Legion video lol. Blocking the staircase from the basement to wait out borrowed time is a valid tactic. It sucks when you're in that position as the survivors though I'll admit. But it's not a reportable offence imo.I'd still consider it holding the game hostage, at what point does blocking the stairs go from a tactic to an exploit? 30 seconds, 10 minutes, 30 minutes or even an hour. If something has to be judged on a case by case basis then it should just be removed entirely.
I mean it's 20 seconds for BT, I'd consider any longer holding the game hostage. If they're just using it to wait out BT then I'd see it as just a tactic. The killer going afk at the top of the stairs is definitely holding the game hostage though. You're definitely right about the case by case basis thing, probably for the best if the staircase just gets widened to prevent body blocking entirely.
So why the ######### would you nerf killers even more when the escape rates are already too high? If you die near the basement then that's tough ######### for you, don't get caught there, don't loop that building.
Your reasoning is basically it can be exploited, well then remove every object on the level since looping is basically an exploit in the first place.

Yeah, I know. I am just stating my similar experiences. But the OP's post is equally as bad in my opinion.
There's nothing bad about blocking ppl from leaving the basement until BT runs out, it's literally the ONLY counter that we have aside from playing amanda/wraith or using insidious
Again, as previously stated, this has happened to me several times where the killer just goes AFK. Just widening the stairs enough to prevent body blocking would solve both the BT and AFKing issues.
The basement is literally the only dangerous place in the game, if you want more safespaces you need to go to uni.

As a rank 1 killer I can confidently say legion is as good as the person whose playing him. If you use the right perks and add ons you can torment a team. And no, he isn’t as powerful as hillbilly or nurse. However neither is Micheal or pig and many of us can agree those two are very capable of 4ks. The way I’ve played with him is feral to a survivor, hit them, chain hit if possible then build distance to the last survivor you hit and take the fatigue punishment and hit. He’s loads of fun with sloppy butcher, nurses calling, hex ruin (or thanatopia, your choice), and bbq n chili (swap for Franklins if their all carrying items). Very simple strategy, and I’m sure he’ll be buffed minorly once more to even him a bit on the edgesSloppy Butcher does jackshit on him unless you're really bad at tracking in which I'll just tell you to pick Bloodhound. What's the point of N/C, mend doesn't count and any survivor with a brain won't heal to full against him unless they're going for a save.
The only thing he's good at is protecting his totem, I'm gonna give him that since there's no hiding and waiting till he chases somebody else if ur in TR.

Someone has to pay. Devs never said that the dedicated servers will be free for us. Or at least i haven´t read anything about them being free. death garden has no monthly fee and the devs know full well that this game would be dead within a month if monthly fees got introduced.
Death Garden is still Alpha.
The Alphas of WoW or Betafield also had no monthly fee... So how many shooters and multiplayer games with no consistent world do you know that have a monthly fee outside of MMORPGs. In EAs Betafield 1, people had to rent the expensive servers if they wanted to have a dedicated clan server. EA has money and still rented out the servers. Ubisoft doesn't do it. But Behavior isn't one of those big companies. Do you really think they roll out something as expensive as dedicated servers with the current system? P2P doesn't cost them. But servers? That's a whole different story.
Why don't you reread all the information they released on that term. They never claimed it would be free for us. Again it's not gonna happen unless they keep a peer to peer option which would basically split the playerbase. They'd kill their game through that. Giving us servers for free without any charges or changes in the monetarisation system, would also kill the game.
Now what?
Are you high? Your arguement went from "dedicated servers are gonna cost us money and ruin the game" to "free servers without making us pay will kill the game".
#########? I´m not high. What about you? Do you think Behavior has infinite money? That they can afford to spend a ton of money every month, so YOU can get your free dedicated servers? Because those costs would kill the game in the long run, if they don´t change the way they finance their game.
I asked if you were high bc you contradicted yourself. You're so into arguing here you havent realized I'm not arguing with you. Just keep pointing out your salty flip flopping. Where did i contradict myself? Please show me Your first arguement was "how we gonna pay for servers. Theyll charge us and it will end the game" Then it changed to "if they give us servers for free and dont charge us for them, it will kill the game" So is it free servers or charged servers that will kill the game? Or maybe just your incessant need to argue with people on a forum for a game you supposedly dont play.
What their saying is.... if the devs dont charge the player base for the servers the devs wont be able to afford em therefore the game will die.... I believe if the devs do charge us for the servers they need to give us something worthwhile to make up for it because yes otherwise the game will die.. You have tons of games out there that are objectively better than DBD with dedicated servers and all, most of the new MMORPGs cannot even think about releasing with paid subscription models anymore and yet there's people here that think a game like DBD would have a subscription model, ROFL. MOST consumers do not want to put up with a subscription model and DBD certainly is not worth a subscription fee, you're delusional to think otherwise. You see, the problem is, that DbD was designed to be p2p. It was never intended to have dedicated servers. The devs never wanted to implement them, because it's a ton of work to rewrite the code. Apart from the server costs, infrastructure, etc. Why do they implement them now? Maybe because there were always at least 3 threads asking for dedicated servers.
Our community asked for it. On countless occasions. Devs finally gave in. But haven't specified any details.
Implementing a monthly cost isn't what we signed up for, when we bought the game. But it's what we've asked for, by asking the devs to spend a ton of money to change an existing game. Do you think the devs spend so much time and money, and even risk their whole business, just because they want to gift something to the community?
Like... really? Again you're delusional. If the devs all of the sudden basically said: No you can't play our game unless you pay monthly then they can expect either mass refunds even after the fact or even a class action lawsuit. It doesn't matter what maybe 1000 people out of 30.000 want when it comes to this.
And we are agreeing with what you're saying... if the devs don't make it worthwhile............... like DBD will have to be a brand new game... itll have to offer soo much to make monthly payment status.... we're talking WoW a game that requires payment but offers a lot...... the devs have stated multiple times "we weren't expecting DBD to grow as much as it has" so we know that bhvr was not prepared for this type of upgrade This doesn't change the fact that people bought the game and the contract to the game basically didn't include a monthly payment. No matter how much they change the game (talking in a realistic sense here), they cannot change to monthly sub. So terms of use can't change after the property of the company changed?
The guys from Kerbal Space Program would like to have a chat with you. There even was a useless ######### storm, after they changed the contract.
So did Kerbal introduce a monthly fee that was required to play over a product you previously paid for that had no monthly fee? no? gtfo then.
Also a small forum minority asking for dedicated servers=/=DBD playerbase willing to pay even 10 cents per month for dedicated servers.
So the devs spend a ton of money to completely change a game from p2p to dedicated servers. On a perfectly working game. Because a minority of our player base asks for this ridiculous change.
Makes totally sense!
/notActually it does, again maybe play some games in the first place, dedicated servers do not warrant a monthly fee, only friggin games like WoW do it and their servers are MASSIVE.

Is it wrong for me to assume that anybody who says that legion has a learning curve beyond walking backwards and not getting hit by pallets is probably pretty bad.

You have friggin instaheals while insta-down addons on killers usually have heavy downsides like for example myers who takes forever to stalk to tier3 with the unlimited EW addon while you can just pack in a brown medkit with the syringe and have an instaheal.
Toolboxes save you 20 friggin seconds per gen if you equip them for speed.
Maps make Hexes redundant altho good maps are pretty rare.
The key with addons is a potential 4man free escape if you play against a killer that has an endgame build like freddy.
Also killers are still weaker than a good survivor unless you're playing nurse/billy.

Yeah, I know. I am just stating my similar experiences. But the OP's post is equally as bad in my opinion.
There's nothing bad about blocking ppl from leaving the basement until BT runs out, it's literally the ONLY counter that we have aside from playing amanda/wraith or using insidious

LITERALLY, all they have to do is keep mending and chase from pausing the bleed out timer.THAT'S IT!
and SUDDENLY he is a GOOD KILLER.
Like, it doesn't take Einstien to figure that ######### out.
"oh but he can hit me twice and chase til i bleed out!?!"
NO #########? HOW IS THAT ANY DIFFERENT FROM A 115% KILLER WITH BETTER POWERS?
Hell billy can find you offguard in a few seconds, chase you around and 1 SHOT YOU or QUICKLY smash pallets to ONE SHOT YOU in the following 10 seconds of a chase.
How is that ANY WORSE than being hit twice in about 5 seconds AND being chased another 10 seconds to get downed if he focused on you like a billy would.
The answer is the hillbilly is ABSOLUTELY better in every aspect, he just isn't fancy about doing it like the LEGION is.
RE-DO the mending bullshit, and remove the stun when frenzy ends.
After that he will be a good killer.
If those changes prove to be "too powerful" than remove his bloodlust wallhacks off his base ability or reduce the range and or bake it into an addon.
After all that, holy ######### look! he is balanced!
I think the full timer of a deep wound till bleed out should be 60 secs without him hitting you.

It seems a little broken to be able to hard counter a perk like that without any real mechanics.
BBQ&Chilli
Knockout
Nurses Calling
all of the hexesJust to name a few killer perks that get hardcountered without you having to do much besides either talking to friends or just holding down m1 or hiding in a locker.

While a lot of your factual points are correct, you're passing off opinions as facts. Legion is very much so more fun for some killers. You may not enjoy cheese chasing, but I definitely do. You might find it more entertaining to deal with looping, safety pallets, and vault patterns for as long as the survivor can find things to use. But I personally much more prefer using Frenzy to get an easy first hit and then cheese chase for 15 to 20 seconds to finish instead of having to deal with that occasionally endless "fun". I'll agree he has a lot of weak points, and factually, there's no denying that. But speaking on behalf of the playerbase and claiming he's not fun is highly erroneous. If you don't want to deal with loops just play the nurse, at least there's SOME counterplay on the survivor's part and there's ######### up on your part, with legion you literally cannot fail unless the other guy has no mither and manages to lose you if you have to opt to deep wound him.
-
Option
is just bad, there's no reason for you to not hit him again if you're gonna break chase anyways, the distance they gain is meaningless and you take out a good chunk of time off of them. -

" a bunch of stuff that was wrong"You are straight up using him wrong.
Oh I love this part. Please enlighten me on the correct way to use Legion.
It's easy. Go to where survivors are, freny, hit them, when you are on the last person, hit him twice, stun out of frenzy.
then, you let them leave. Count to 3, the chase ends, they bleed out FAST, you follow the blood, try not to start chase to soon, pop frenzy, get hook
Or they run to a pallet and start mending and laugh at you while you can't do anything. I mean sure, you can just sit there and wait for your power to come back, but that only further supports my "least fun killer in the game" debate. You get an unavoidable hit, sit there, and get another unavoidable hit. That is just awful design, I don't care how effective or ineffective it is.
Your power comes back fast, you only need 1-2 seconds to smack them and down them. If they are by a pallet it's a free down.
I'll record a video tonight and post it for you.
Everybody can record a video of himself doing good with ANY killer. Monto has a 3k video with burger king myers (tier 1 myers with 100% ms and no increased lunge) in a 3v1 match where survs didn't do any gens and a 4k video right after
Then watch my stream and watch me pip about every game with him?
That wasn't my point, my point was to record a video showing how to do what I'm saying to do. AKA, a guide.Pretty much the best killers of this community say he's trash but here you are showing us a guide on a straightforward character that you think nobody figured out. Breaking the [BAD WORD] chase so the timer ticks down is an obvious choice esp since mending doesn't stop the timer anymore unless they're at 99%, he still sucks even with that tactic which basically guarantees you down somebody.
They call killers bad while 4king with them.
Some even call hag bad.
Get your own opinion. Hey, letting the chase break might seem obvious, but considering the OP didn't mention it, maybe you should chill out.
The other option is to follow a survivor backwards and just cheese the chase mechanics of the game until they either bleed out or get to low enough bleedout to be hit by an unavoidable frenzy hit. This is painful and unfun for the survivor and the killer.
He did mention it, you don't read it carefully.
His post read like he was running around hitting everyone, then going and looking for one he hit.
That's how you lose. you start the frenzy with a plan.
But hey, ya'll hate him. Doesn't bother me any.
I'm winning games and having fun. His power is strong if you use it right, most chases last half the time I'm used to. And that includes hitting 3 ppl.
If you are getting your opinions from other people, and not changing your mind till they do... There's something wrong with that. Try getting good with the killer.
"getting good" with this killer is literally just walking backwards to avoid chasing again, then down them with m2, such skill much WoW.

In b4 needs to hit every survivor and run thanatophobia, completely ignores the fact that you only get more than 2 tagged survivors if the survivors don't know how to play around him yet, also ignores the fact that mend takes about as much time as it takes you to wound 2 survivors.
-
Play Legion.
Then play literally anything else.
It's night and day.
-
The mending action needs to take like 16 seconds and double if you've already been wounded by him, this still wouldn't change the fact that he's fundamentally broken, while nurse is not hard to master you still don't see her every game because she's stressful to play, legion is a walk in the park and would break the game.

@ad19970 said: People need to give the devs a break though. They did well with so many of the killer designs before, and they are forced to constantly think of new ideas for the killer. So I can understand why'd they screw up a killer once. With that said, I 100% agree with you on this post. Exactly why I always knew they couldn't buff him in any considerable way. Your post perfectly summarizes what's wrong with The Legion and why he can't be fixed. Guess we have to just move on and hope for a better killer design next time. The only way to make Legion viable without making survivors quit the game is to rework him. He needs a rework more urgently than Freddy, sadly. No, we do not, because so many of us in the community have been providing tons of valuable feedback, both before, during and after the PTBs, but instead of taking what we say seriously, they take it with "a grain of salt" and put their own twist on it. Quite many, including me said several times that the legion really needs a rework and should not be released as is. When we voice our concerns, like for instance during a Q&A we all know what Cote will say, we should all go play some civilization for a refreshing change, because that is exactly how seriously he takes our concerns - like not at all. Who's the same one who thinks the killers should be fun and don't need to be viable. So once they actually begin to take our concerns serously, then we can begin to cut them some slack. As I've said before, they should not release content that is not balanced or not ready to be released, because it wrecks all kinds of havoc in doing so. You say they did well with so many killers before, well that certainly depends on perspective, and instead of actually fixing the issues they apply bandaid solutions. There are also many in the community who dont have their panties in a twist over legion, as they are a viable killer.
They're not no. 1 killer, but they're not as trash as everyone wants them to be.
Yes there are some who for very odd reasons fervorously keep defending the legion, claiming that the legion is strong and viable, when it's glaringly obvious that the legion is now by far DbDs current weakest killer, and that legion is non-viable due to being the current weakest killer. I get you want the legion to viable and better, but legion is just not there yet, far from it. And I don't want the legion to be trash, but unfortunately that doesn't change anything.
Besides, people also being fed up with BHVR not taking our concerns, feedback and suggestion on how to fix seriously, that they're only taking it with "a grain of salt" and putting their own twist on things. And that is quite understandable, because this is something that keeps happening recurringly.
Go watch tru3 play some legion. One person at least tried and shows legion is viable. Just need synergy.
He is literally using purple add-ons basically every game. That's not balanced, in fact those add-ons likely need a nerf.
Let's not forget most of his games were KYF which doesn't say ANYTHING.

ScottJund said:While I'll concede that Legion would be at least decent with normal killer movement speed, it still doesn't address the fact he is the least fun killer in the game for both sides. I originally thought just giving him normal movespeed would at least bandaid him but he's actually completely fundamentally broken. Let's look at the ways to play him and why they are all terrible for both killer and survivor.
Basically the gameplay flow is: find survivor -> feral when close enough -> get free hit -> look around for nearby survivors. If none nearby, hit original target again to bleed out more. If there are survivors in range, tag them until you can't tag anyone else, then hit the closest survivor again to drain frenzy.
From there, you have a few options. The first is go look for someone who is mending, and just chase them as a no-power 110% movespeed killer. As long as the survivors have a brain and used their 20 seconds of bleedout to get to even a remotely safe area, this is painful and unfun for the killer.
You can also just repeatedly hit the survivor, waiting for your power to cooldown (which can be aided by addons). This guarantees you will eventually down the survivor because there's not much you can do to avoid a feral Legion. This is painful and unfun for the survivor.
The other option is to follow a survivor backwards and just cheese the chase mechanics of the game until they either bleed out or get to low enough bleedout to be hit by an unavoidable frenzy hit. This is painful and unfun for the survivor and the killer.
Hell, even people that still like hiding / playing stealthily can't do that.
That's it. Those are the options Legion has to down people. All of them are immensely boring, and not even 115% movespeed will fix these issues. He is fundamentally badly designed for maximum unfun. The developers in charge of Legion absolutely do not understand this, as they thought removing the double stun would be a good fix, when in reality all it does is promote the unavoidable eventual downing of a survivor with no counterplay earlier.
The sad part is even though he can guarantee downs on survivors, he's still awful. It takes a decent chunk of time without addons to either cheese chase mechanic down or just repeat-power use down. This ensures: the survivor being chased eventually has no counterplay, which feels terrible. It ensures the Legion will still lose vs. a coordinated team who spread out and do not waste time healing (because there is no point), and it ensures that the other teammates not actively being chased are either bored mending or bored doing generators.
Every single thing about Legion is bad.
I enjoy the legion. They're fun to play as and against imo. Such hate lately. If its not your killer so be it. Dont try to ######### in my sandwich
There's people who listen to 6ix9ine, still doesn't make it legit music.
Just because you like something doesn't mean it's remotely good.
