Why are people still playing this game?

Why do you care, when you obviously don't? Well I play it for the adrenaline, the setting, the cool looking maps, the interesting variety of killers and persons and most importantly! For fun. As it is a game.

I rarely DC out of anger,,,HOWEVER if i identify the white ward offering belongs to the clicky clicker flashlight user ,,i may m1 them with franklin's (if i got it on) make sure they run away from item and insta DC so they lose their precious purple beamer even though they got white ward on Kekw

I might w8 to give them a "nice beamer" in post game lobby to tilt them more lmao

But ... when the killer DC's you get to keep your item and offering. Soooo, sadly, that was pointless.

  • Thanks XD, great that nobody noticed but you. I'm just as lost as everyone else.

  • At some parts the challanges are pretty bad for a good round. Challanges like heal x amount of players, safly unhook x players, etc (in good faith, that they are achieved while playing good, not reclessly farmed in an unsportly manner) are fine in my eyes. They encourage teamplay and work with what you have to do in a round. But the challanges with the glyphes and those perk challanges ... well, they encourage the exact opposite. So yeah, it would be nice if BHVR looked into it.

  • This a good idea, but it would need a change in the reaward system of survs. Nobody would unhook anymore. Because rewards are for escaping, not helping. If teamplay would be encouraged more, it could probably work.

That’s not what I mean. What I do mean is that whenever one of these threads show up nurse mains seem to be the only ones trying to defend her. I don’t want the game to be easier in fact I want maps to be less survivor sided and objectives to become slower. What I don’t want is 2-3 killers to dominate over the rest, by nerfing them (mainly nurse) it will be easier then to balance the game

It is not the case. Neither your first statement, nor the second. Not everyone defending her is a Nurse main, read the whole thread. Nurse is not dominating. You can win against a good nurse. If it is a sweaty player behind her it would not matter if it was nurse or any other killer, except the plain weak ones. I mean, sure, this game is not very balanced, but Nurse is really not the problem. You just need different stradegies against her than against almost all other killers. That's pretty much all about it.

  • Well, only two more days of waiting ^^ But first I got the dates wrong too. After the announcement I thought it would already start at the 6th of June.

  • After tommorow. 07.16.2022

    Have a nice day :)

  • @Phasmamain said:

I just want the devs to acknowledge she’s too strong at this point. Literally no one but nurse mains actually defend her at this point.

That's not true. If you read the thread, there are people defending her, that are not playing her. (raising my Hand)

  • Theoretically, as far as I know, if you escape with a surv you have "one" win, as a killer a kill is "one" win. As a killer you can stuck up to four wins in one round, as a survivor you can only gain one win. This sounds horribly stupid, but I hope you get my point. Also what the others said about how they want to get people to play the killer role.

  • Nope, those are just skins. Like Nurse when she ate to much and wears a mask we call her trapper, when she has a bad hair day and shes a bit hangry we call her dredge, you get the idea. :D

  • I bet somebody already said it, but you know. Sorry I want some privacy? You don't need to know how much or few time someone has invested in a game, what their gametaste is like, etc. what you could get from a profile. Sure it is not much someone could find out. Sure, it will probably not hurt anyone in anyway (hopefully) and the comments can be disabled. But still, you do not need to know anything about a stranger on the internet that simply wants to enjoy a game. Talking down on doing something this simple is a bit disrespectful, especially when you say you report them. Imagine they got other reports from toxic players. You know that can happen. And yours might be the last drop to kick them out of a game they enjoyed, they did nothing wrong, but because of you acting a bit rash they lose this opportunity of fun.

So please, be bit more relaxed.

    Have a nice day :)

  • Seeing how you go against arguments in this thread trying to explain, why they oppose your idea, in a rather ignorant way, make you seem more like a raging person (and I was temptet to wright child), rather than someone who actually wants to discuss.

So before you come at me, lets get the list. Lets see ... I play both sides, I don't main nurse, just played her a few times, I'm also not good against her and mainly play soloq, when surv.

People can outplay a nurse. Training goes both ways. It takes some time to get used to her. If an unexpirienced nurse is in your trial you actually already won, I'm gonna leave this here for everyone to consider. Once there is a trained nurse you need to learn how to go against her. Thtat takes time too. Surprise, your win is not gifted but has to be achieved. For the learning process, as always, there are some good videos on youtube for counterplay. I mean it, watch them.

Soloq is harsh on top of that, you can't control how the others play and communication is very limited. Everyone knows that's a problem of itself but this problem occurs in almost every multiplayergame.

I wish you a nice day.

  • Survivor: Red Herring, I love the mindgames and watching the killer pass your locker to get to the gen that has zero importants to anyone in that match, is very rewarding, every single time.

Killer: Unrelenting, same as @TatsuiChiyo , killer is much more difficult than survivor, so I'm still lerning and this helps me not to throw a chase out of the window because I missed.

  • Well, sounds like the last rounds weren't good in our beloved soloq. There is another thread with this topic, but one of the main things to remember is that yes, this a colaboration game for the survivor side but the reward for the escape is bigger than the reward for helping a teammate. Also some players are chickens and run out of the trial asap. But demanding teamplay the musketeer-style would need a swf or luck in soloq.

  • Everyone that explained logically, why it is a bad idea is right and because so many arguments were already explained I'm gonna add a subjective one: it would kill part of the horror the game has left.

You start with four people, but have no idea what awaits you. Then suddenly, you hear a glimps of something that might be a melody, until the first scream interrups your thoughts and as you rush to your unknown teammate, full of hope to be able to safe him, you see her. The Huntress, ready to tear you apart, singing you to your last sleep.

Ok, I exxagerated a bit, but maybe you get the point. Like @pseudechis said, didn't saw your comment there. :)

  • Typically those Fungus-like, spiderlegged (spiderleg-armed?), almost noname (oooOOOOooo, the Entity), rather ghost like creatures toying around with their hardworking subjects, thinking they're some kind of god. I smell a rebellion incoming.

  • @Akumakaji said:

I often leave instead of going for an all out safe, just for the killers sake. Most of the time the killer is really struggling and even the meager 1k will often be taken away by strong and competent survivors.

When the killer dominates, giving hatch isn't unheared of, and some survivors even demand it; at the very least gifting hatch is a common occurrence, so I would love to see the same from the other side.

If the survivors dominate, why go for each and every safe and leave the killer with nothing? If we had the same culture as with the hatch, I am sure the toxicity, camping and tunneling would curb down a fair bit.

Just some food for thoughts. A 4E is fun, but honestly, 1k ain't that bad, right? And you don't lose that much. So show some pity, next time you totally walz over a killer.

I absolutly agree with you. Same thing goes for the rounds with a friendly killer (those unserious rounds). I would love to see it becoming normal, that one surv gives the killer a kill, not that it is granted, that every surv escapes.

  • Bye bye, have great time <3

Her powers can be denied by survivors. She isn't fast while "invisible". She is a basic M1 killer.

    Alright, thanks.

  • Havn't seen a single one yet. Obviously I wont buy her to try her out, but I'm wondering what makes her so bad. From what I saw from content creators, she kinda reminded me of Wraith, just with a teleporting ability.

  • Wow, nobody reads what you wrote, how surprising.

Very interesting idea. Since killers have theire unique abilities connected to their weapon this really feels reasonable. It would also mean I did'nt have to buy characters I know I won't use, just so I can level them to get their perks for another charakter. It would kindof give the survs roles. Claudette beeing some kind of Healer, David is somewhat of a Tank, etc.. Sounds to me like a whole lot more flavour to what we have now. In case of Balance, I guess it would be sensful that every surv can only be there once, so no team of four Claudettes. ^^

I would want to try that out for sure.

The worst period of dbd is when you transition from newby to a regular.

Then you're periodically bombarded with all of the terrible parts of dbd that have always been there. The rose tinted glasses are off, novelty gone, and the questionable ideas are loud and in your face.

Thank you very much kind Sir, I will now put these glasses back on. There are some scratches on them, but it'll do.

I had this happen to me is killer, but the Nia I messaged admitted to cheating and making me lag. I still killed her and her buddy

And how did they end up ingame? ^^

  • @Sybarite said:

Sadly as others have said this is a population issue that is affecting MMR. I find if you avoid prime time the MMR works quite well even with new killers. Surprising no one, people want to play with their friends during weekends and you can't play killer with friends unless you make your own lobby with 5 people.

To make matter worse looks like this will be an issue going forward, the 6TH-anniversary steam said players will receive a blood point bonus for queueing as a certain role(aka killer most of the time). This doesn't really solve any issue at all-cause most players are not really having any issue with blood points.

Especially not when there is a swf farming of the baby killers X_X, why would one of them switch to killer.

  • @Angelicus23 said:

    Of course they do

In 2019, I was live playing as killer against one of the biggest DBD streamers (which for then I didn't know about), we both were streaming, at one moment he failed a pallet save and then got down for bad timing and constantly repeated "this guy is lagswitching, killers nowadays can't think about anything else rather than cheating".

The thing is that after reporting me, he displayed my steam profile, his viewers saw a Twitch link from my profile and they came in mass to harass me at the chat and that's how I knew about him, I had to stop my stream because I didn't have affiliate yet and I couldn't close the chat to subs only.

In conclusion, this harmed me, my channel, and set a mindset on his viewers about cheating when there wasn't actually

I guess that's the only argument we need in this discussion. Holy s#*§, thats so awfull what happend to you.

  • My comment wont help you with your problem, but I just wanted to make it clear, that these are absolutly fantastic! Great work, wish you good luck!

  • Mikaela, she probably has some kind of knowledge about spices and special recepies because of her hobby. Would be excited to try something she made OwO

  • I love this idea, that is good aproach. Recognizing "OP" Perks would be very easy, as they would get banned every single time, it would finally destroy the idea of Meta in this game (my personal opinion is that using the same abilities over and over is pretty boring, especially when the game is repetitive itself), I would even increase the number of banned perks to four for each side, especially since there are so many.

Of course there would be the need for other changes, but again, of all the things I've seen so far this is a very good idea.

  • Copy and paste gone wrong, ^^

  • I'm relativly new, I play both sides, but it's always more chill as survivor (in soloq, my friend isn't too active). You're with other persons, even when they're douchbags, a team (and potential victims other than you) gives away a feeling of safety, where as a killer you're on your own and probably in a lobby with survs that have a higher skilllevel than you do (the MMR works great for new players! T-T) , overall, if you don't get the upper hand quickly you feel devastated in the killer role.

  • I'm sorry, I have to agree with @Anoniemoose. No.

You kinda need to define camping. Protecting your prey on the platter needs to be available. Unhooking would just become a sidetask, that can easily be done. Plus, hooks with a survivor un it would become a safezone for survs. You did not clarify the radius, but imagine a hook right beside a gen... sure let that survivor get to the second stage, we can finish this gen without any danger... So yeah, your idea is not practical for the game.

    Have nice evening/day/morning :)

No it really shouldn't take this long. It should be the same HTML code for every avatar excluding the file for the picture.

Well, it depends how they did it. But there has to be other type of code involved (probably js), as they safe it for a person (connecting data with authenticated users). So the diffeculty is different for the possible aproaches they took. However, the way that would be "smart" should make it easy to add new pictures.

  • I have some intel on the plague, pure speculation of course, but someone on reddit tried to translate her lines and one suggestion of one of her sayings goes somewhat along of the lines: "Why would the God of the moon depend on one of its followers", would meen she in fact

    @Xendritch said:

Plague basically thinks the Entity is their God

The realm is the only place Charlotte and Victor can be alive and happy together

Clown loves the realm and for whatever reason the Entity granted his horse Maurice a 3rd eye for whatever reason I think maybe their eye sight was going and that's why?

    All those should be higher

Trapper actively hates the entity and knowing how much the Doctor values his freedom to do whatever he wants and has similar mutilation to Trapper I don't think they're fond of the Entity either so I think those two should be lower.

thinks that the entity is her God, as previously statet by @Gloam

and that she has doubts. Not sure how that affects her connection though. Could be either really strong or (and that's more likely in my eyes) that the Link is getting weaker and weaker over time.

  • I probably should state that I don't care about winning to much, so my salinity is pretty low, especially towards perks (use whatever you want, if you like playing with the same skills in forever then suit yourself, I couldn't). However, reading more and more about peoples expiriences and game design ... dh kinda gives you invincibility for a short amount of time, which seems like a bit of an overkill. Shouldn't be a dash enough? But it's getting a rework, or did I get that wrong?

well should we also allow people who dress as animals in the LGBT community? If they do it as a kink, it is linked to sexuality. Should we add an F to LGBT for furries? maybe a P for Pet play?

It is in the + in my opinion, that was the whole discussion. And the answer is yes again. If you try to find something where I go against my own words, please just stop. It is'nt worth both our times.

  • @Marigoria said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2981516#Comment_2981516

So by that logic only crossdressers who do it as a sexual act should be included?

Dressing as a girl while still identifying as a straight cisgender man is not an identity or sexuality. It's either a kink or a clothing choice, so they shouldn't be in this community.

Dressing is part of your identity. So yes, I think they should be included. That's my opinion.

  • That idea sounds more like a recommandation for a complete new game, or rather a new gamemode. I would'nt be against that actually.

  • @Marigoria said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2981498#Comment_2981498

By that logic, a lot of groups should be included in LGBT. Gingers have always been discriminated against, do they belong in LGBT?

I think we still should keep LGBT group to categories related to gender and sexuality, because if we're going to include everyone ever who has been discriminated against for this or that it will just lose all meaning.

I thought it would be obvious that the community moves in the Sexual-Identity circle. So of course it is in that context.

  • @Marigoria said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2981431#Comment_2981431

Being queer is not a choice. Inclusion? So should we also add an S to lgbt for straight people? Inclusion after all.

Inclusion of the disrespectet, pitty eyed, the ones who get the "not normal"-treatment by society, the bullied, misunderstood, the ones that desperatly search for others to understand them and a safe place. Inclusion of everyone who needs to be included, because they are not included anywere else. You might think this is an exaggeration, it is not. At least not yet. Drag Queens definetly belong there. Straights - and I mean that respectfully - do not.

  • @TorQueMoD said:

I don't wanna come of as rude, but do you know what you are talking about?

My main issue are all the sounds she emits. It’s like nails on a chalk board to me.

I also don’t like how she looks, but it’s not as annoying as her sounds.

I see ^^ thx for answering.

In all seriousness, just play each one a few rounds and see who you find the most fun or interesting to play. Just please don’t play Caw Caw Poopy Bird Lady. I’d rather you play Hag.

Just curious, what do you have against her? :)

Nobody ever answers in the lobby neither before nor after the match - ever, I'm starting to think they are bots.

Then again, get in contact with the game support. They should be able to clarify some things. :)

  • Well, at some point there is a thing called "coincidence". Sure it is annoying, ill give you that, but it will probably change again. Try talking to you're teammates after the match, if they have similar problems. Also, maybe ask a support, there's a limit on what a forum can do. Either way good luck.

  • I understand the thought behind that and in theory I'm on your side. The thing that leads me to believe that it is not a good idea is the waiting time between matches. :. ) I'm pretty sure it would get out of control.

The good news is that they are working on a bot mode (costum games with bots), so that could be a way we can breath once in a while ^^

  • Well, I see myself as a rather ... innocent player. When I use a mapoffering, it's because I want to see the map, not exploit it. Therefor I'd like to keep it in the game. However, I understand how people would use it to troll and to benefit themselfs. But maybe it would be better to ballance the maps. Theorethically a variety of maps is for the ambience, not for different roles.

What I mean to say is, should'nd the point be "FIX YOUR MAPS" and not "REMOVE MAPSELECTION". Kinda seems to ignore the source of the problem.

  • Adiris, is that you? O.O
