  • 40% - 50%. I concentrate on tome challanges and helping teammates, rather than escaping. But I guess the biggest reason for this, is that I almost use no meta perks AND I'm bad at looping. ^^

Hey, can you just give some examples of games that are similar to DBD? I know Resident Evil: Resistance, and I really like it, but I of course have to dump a ton of money on Resident Evil 3 before I can do that. So just throw some games at me, so I can pick one.

But Apple always call iPad a computer, not calling it a big mobile! :)

The system of an iPad is more similar to phone, than to a PC. If they call it that way, it is purely for marketing. There would be the need for a new compatibility mode. A lot of recourses needed, so it's unlikly to become a thing. Not impossible, but highly unlikly.

  • RIP. And even a selfish cake. Odds are that it will get better though ^^

  • Shame to those who brought the shame in the first place. It's a little bit petty and it's revenge rather than justice and I wanna say I would have loved to see that match. You go Bubba!

  • Yay, the weekly thread about how strange the censors work. Yes, they are not reasenable, especially since it's a game for adults about killing people, yet the censor seems to be a copy paste from some my little pony game. Some people collect lists of how many normal words are censored. My personal favourite is that "kill" is also censored. In a game where you can play a murderer.

  • When I started with dbd I hated them purly because of bad expiriences. So I can backup the previous statements. Of course the playstyle varies from player to player, but chances (imo) are high, that you got a twinplayer, who slugs everyone and then just waits until everyone has run out of blood. But when my mmr got better that changed too.

  • Nice to see one of the good expiriences also shown in the forum.

You need to make it to EGC. The games you didn't survive, you likely also didn't make it to EGC.

This means if you've got a team mate on the hook, you want to open that exit ASAP, so that hooked survivor gets their mask even if you can't rescue them, or likewise, if you go to rescue them and end up trading hooks, you still get yours.

It's allowed me on a couple of occasions, to offer myself up as a sacrifice to a killer who hasn't done so well, because I know I've already secured my mask once the gates are open.

Actaully, if you are on hook when EGC starts, it will also not count. I know "What the duck!", but thats how it works.

  • You know what, with AoT colab comming up Tokio Gouhl is a pretty decent idea. Though I'd really apreciate something Cthulhu related at some point. ^^

  • I'm a bit scared, but quite more curious and relaxed. The thing is, the outcome is already set. Someone will complain. There is nothing, that can be done about it.

Besides this I think there will be good things and bad things. What's positive about that you might ask? Well, statisticly spoken it is "impossible" that every nerv/buff/rework will be a disaster. That means it will overall be a fresh breeze in the current game and that is something I'm looking forward to. :)

    It’s a good question.

but also easy to answer. I mean.. who is not friends with Maurice?

Good ... good. The old gods can return to their slumber, knowing that the entity is doing well with the help of the wispers of the fog.

The real question is ... is he friends with Maurice?

  • Can agree with everyone, who picked survivor here. I’m glad to see that whats stress for us is a fun challenge for others. I myself play both sides, but also not equally, as killer for me is outright exhausting. So … I need a free weekend and a lot of energy to actually engage in it, while also not being the most skilled in that role 😅. Still have fun vomiting on everything with plague which is uneffected by everything else.

  • Happy Forum-Birthday! Wish you non-toxic comments and more fotages of cute and cuddly things

I really wish they would stop forcing survivors to escape in order to collect stuff.

I think they're trying to make the killer role more lucrative with this, as its "easier" to get the reward when playing killer than survivor.

  • Well, if you don't want to play it anymore, you don't have to. There are similar games, which were developed after dbd, maybe they are more to your liking. Generalising mistakes by BHVR won't help your cause. Not everyone shares your point of view, as @StarLost already made a very precice list and I myself would also disagree on many aspects. The most important thing after all is that you spent your free time with things you enjoy.

    Have a nice day :)

  • If you're being this superficial, you could say that about every single game. And I for one don't think it is that bad in dbd, at least not from my expirience.

  • Alway depemds on the situation and wording. Those two comments are not really showing who of them is "in the right". There is a fine line between constructiv criticism and plain ranting.

If the original comment was along the lines of "this game is so bad and unbalanced, it's litteraly unplayable and the community is so toxic. The devs don't care about us who paid real money ... yada yada yada", then I would be on the side with the "then don't play it" one. You don't have to play a game, that you're not enjoying.

On the other side, if the op suggested changes, engaged in discussions etc., then yes. Definetly use your voice and ideas to improve the games you enjoy.

Rage doesn't change anything. Contributing creativly does.

  • It's a win for the MMR system and Tome challanges. It counts es "escape" and the question was "How do I survive my matches?". That's the question I tried to answer.

  • ??? I did since it was up in the forum. That does not answer anything. 😅

A new mori would be kinda cool, but something over-the-top violent wouldn't fit well with his lore, in my opinion. Dear old Evan is definitely not a morally good person, but I also don't feel like he's the type of guy to smash someone's head into a bear trap.

Ah right. I did not consider the lore at all.

Edit: Would still be happy to see a trap involved, it would be more individual for the killer.

  • @DredgenWar237 said:

Either the NetEase version's mori, or my idea: He grabs them by the back of the head, throwing the face-first into a bear trap, which snaps shut on their head. They wriggle for a bit until he slashes the back of their neck to put them out of their misery.

I thought about something like that. To make it a bit more delicate, how about, he walks past the lying survivor, who tries to crawl away. While walking, he pins the survivor in place with his weapon, still walking and "slowly" sets up a trap. He then pulls his weapon and the survivor simultaneous from the ground, and then head first, as you mentioned, he throughs the person into the trap.

  • Mhh, I see the comical possebilities, but the design would probably be difficult, when the goal is to not make it a meme. I mean ... for a dinosaur he would have to run pretty slow.

The mark last 60 secs or he can get a certain distance to lose it.

Distance as an indicator is rather difficult. The speed of your minions are at 110%, but the killer has the speed of wraith. Jogging allong with the surv marjing him again and again ^^

By the way, cool name idea. :D I love everything Cthulhu related and it would fit the game very well.

Maybe to not make it crap Add this to the power.

Abyss Mark: When a survivor is Marked the spawn will chase that surv.

That's defenitly a good idea for balance. Would both minions chase the surv? How could the survivor potentionaly win the chase?

  • @UnknownKiller said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2999593#Comment_2999593

Well could be stressing it would be a killer not for all players like Nurse but refressing.

I think that a but that chase a surv by just applying pressure would be enought I think bots of tutorial are okay.

The killer can control the spawn if he wish to having a chade while he knows the other bot is chasing another surv.

    Why unfair playstyle?

The "unfair playstyle" comment was reffering to petty surv mains, who always complain (looking at those who already want dredge to be nerved O.O )

Beeing able to effectivly chase two persons at once would actually fall under the category of OP. No other killer has that much power over the arena. And the bots of the tutorial are fine because they play in one role, not additional for a role that's also a human.

A good example of that whole thing would be tne Nemisis. Sadly I'm neither expirienced versing him, nor playing him. The zombies are accepted, because they cannot be controlled and only have a smaller impact on the game (thats pure speculation, please correct me if I'm wrong)

  • With gameflow I mean just doing what your doing and not having to stop to think about how to do something or the controls, etc, hope that clears that up.

Bots in a game thats usually completly controlled by players would be difficult. It's about human errors, like overseeing the surv in the corner or forseeing the way he would run to act smarter in one moment and dumber in the other. A bot would need to be consistend, would'nt be bound to these flaws and would either be programmed to easy (ends up being almost useless) or too hard (searching automatically in the right area, seeing survivors based on unnatural stats that overcome every human action.

It could work. But there would be complains neitherless like always. "Unfair playstyle, bla bla bla."

Also there would be no chase for the killer whatsoever, depending on how good the bots are. Either they're useless and you have to, what would lead back to the original flaws I mentioned, or they would be too good leaving the killer to chill out. I'm not sure if that would be helpfull for the vibe of the game.

  • I was concerned based on the headline. But, yeah, you're somewhat right. A bit exxagerated but true in its core. Although that's less about what makes the game unbalanced, rather about community rules, which is a very complicated topic.

Again,,,if killer DCs before you pick your item back after gettin hit with franklin's you will lose the item,,you get to escape when the killer DCs,,,If the item is NOT in your hand the moment game registers the DC you will lose the item,,

I understood what you meant the first time, no need to repeat it. To extend my mentioned example, I'm pretty sure I had a game were I changed my item in the round to one from a chest. But after the game I rcieved my old one back, not the new one.

It would be nice if someone else then us could contribute to our thought's. 'Cause at this point neither of us can be sure if the other one is right. ^^

  • I would like it, if it only activates in chase. Like instant bloodlust for the whole duration. In my eyes the game could be more about hiding, less about running. "Looping" a killing seems really inconvinient in my eyes, especially for the horror genre.

Nope. I've used this name for a long long time, started using it in Wow Vanilla, but it came from being a history nerd and enjoying Age of empires 2.

Ah, ok. Then it's just a coincidence. Sorry for bothering you and have a nice day :)

  • If you want to play really selfish to get a win (it truely would be a disgusting stragedie, but I would use at some point too), use mikaela, or just her perk Clairvoyance, find totem, hide, search effectivly for hatch, perish when everyone is dead. Your teammates would hate you, but you won. It does work, though me being last survivor was accidently at that point, were I tried it.

But it test the waters first. Would be pretty bad if you abondened a team that's decent.

  • @Barbarossa2020 said:

    Play selfish.

Find safe gens, use Bill's 3 perks, don't go for risky unhooks, use the hatch if you have to, or open the gates and leave.

To many survs try to be heroes all the time.

I'm sorry, I have a friend with that username in other games, so I'm a bit confused right now. Do you perhaps recognize mine?

  • I'm with "there could be reason, or they're just a dick" statement. I had a round with a Twin-player. Slugged everyone of us in the first few minutes, than leaving us too bleed out ON THE DUCKING STAIRS OF THE BASEMENT. So yeah, I would call that a dick move and unnecessary. Another round, only two survs left, killer downed the first one, chased the other one, got em, but no hooks. There was a lot of distance between us, there is a chance a surv escapes a hook and he can see the other one, the killer probably couldn't. So yes, safe stragedie, gg, it's fine.

It really just depends on the situation.

  • XD The true question is if he sat in front his computer like "Enough DBD for today" or "come on, another round!".

But I know that feeling too, as many other probably. One trial against myers my brain completely shut of and when I tried to hide, the killer would always come from random spots, exactly at me and I always saw him when it was to late. Best part of that game for me was (I ran spinechill), when I knew he was around, I hid behind a wall of a ruin and looked in the direction I was sure he would come from. After a few seconds of nothing I turn around, only to see him standing like two feet away from my back, charging his ability on my dumbass T.T I actually got scared by that, only to laugh histerically after it.

  • That's a lot of power for one killer. I can see where you come from. It would be perfect for map pressure, control and you would get intel on poositions of survivors. Problems I see with this:

    • a lot of stuff to do, could get in the way of the gameflow for the killer
    • coordination would be very difficult. If I understood it right, the minions can knock down the survs, killer can hook them and powers exclusivly for killer, than chases would get very confusing. Try to disable the pallet there? Is your char there? No? Well, no luck then, but while trying the surv probably got away.
    • surv mocking the "helpless killer" while he tries to come back with his minions
    • etc.

It's a good starting point, but it needs polishing.

i'm pretty sure if you're not holding your item when killer DCs you don't get to keep it

The items get reset to the point before the trial. Yoe even get your offering back. At least it was this way when I was playing. I checked that everytime someone ended the round with a dc, because I wanted to know if I wasted them. Luckily I did not. ALways got them back. There also never was the "you lose objekt x" in the endscreen.

"We asked 100 killers what they would think about a forth hook state. Guess what were the top 3 answers?"

No no, @DrDeepwound has a point, regarding we are not sure how the testing went. This game is asymmetrical. One round consists of 4 survs and 1 killer. If the test was with killers only playing killers and survivors only playing survivors without rotation of course it would get backlash, if the tested feature in favour of the killer. A controlled rotation of playerroles would be needed within the same group of people to have a clear statement. So, as we don't know how it went, this is a possibility, that the test was doomed from the beginning.

  • @Salacia said:

Still happy that we can commit suicide, nobody likes to play with a big draw of a killer who camp. But bhvr doesn't care about its players because it allows this ultra toxic style of play. You just have the big bad killer who has fun taking the game hostage while the 4 survivors who suffer without having fun (result a lot stop the game definitively because of the camp).

Actually, when there is a facecamper and I'm on hook, I'll make sure to drag out the moments of my death, nail every single skillcheck. I hope he enjoys the view and his 1k, while the gens are popping like poppcorn in a hot pan.

  • Mhhhhh, nah that goes against my feeling of sportsmanship. Do you play both sides or only killer?

  • @Swampoffering said:

That's because it's started again where everyone is complaining it happened before and it's happening again people hate playing against Nurse and that's fine. I'm sorry you hate Nurse, but you have to understand some of us to love facing and playing against Nurse. I feel like people think everyone who is left that plays Nurse now only plays her because she is strong when that is just not true some people love her design and the way you have to play against her.

You can say I'm lying or just enjoy a training wheel killer idc you are entitled to your own opinion, just don't claim it as the fact that's all I ask, but many people were fine when Nurse was reworked once before and that was enough for a time for people because Nurse's pick rate plummeted with only a few people that enjoyed Nurse sticking with her.

I think the lack of facing as many Nurses and the inclusion of sbmm has created this situation where people go up against a Nurse that has been playing that killer for years and get destroyed causing this domino effect where people think all Nurses are just absolute monsters, but it just isn't true. The nurse is one of those killers you need to know how they work to counter, similar to I guess as an example buffed legion when they were first buffed people kept together in groups for who knows what reason and mended quickly making it seem like Legion was this uncounterable monster when all they needed to do was split up and deny legions power.

I know this sounds crazy, but Nurse is similar in the regard that her counters aren't known unless you play her or figure out how exactly she works, as she relies heavily on visual and audio its one of the reasons why corn maps suck as her and Lery's because those maps hard counter her and why maps like dead dawg and game are so good, both are small and offer little visual blockers.

It's just frustrating for people who love playing Nurse and against Nurse because it's not like people don't type out exactly how she is countered and yes there are maps where she is too good on like the game and dead dawg, but I don't think making her awful to play as is the solution or downright removing her. Like it really will kill the game for me, because imagine if your favorite killer was removed or made so unfun to play that you don't enjoy them anymore, like deathslinger mains. I don't think making killers so unfun in design to play as is the solution to making Nurse more bearable to play against you can take Nurses' addons and make them all useless for all I care, but please don't ruin Nurse.

I mean is it that hard to understand why we are so vehemently opposed to it when everyday threads are asking for Nurse to be ruined? Like I admit I care too much, but I'm just kind of sick of all the people who are like acting like Nurse mains are the worst kind of people on the forums and at times it feels like everyone hates us and doesn't care what we have to say because they think our opinion is invalid. After all, we enjoy playing such a character. I mean have you seen how many people say "ooh you just defend this character because she is op." meanwhile those same people don't think top-performing swf teams are a problem "because it's not all swf" meanwhile they turn a blind eye to Nurse for whatever reason and act as all Nurses do is 4k every game no exceptions.

Short answer: because we are tired that people don't listen to anything we say because they think our opinion is invalid for dumb reasons.

    Amen.

Loop any killer on the edge of the map is good to give the others survivors to do the generators, even the nurse, the strategy to get down on the edge of the map is viable against any killer, loop a nurse on the middle of the map is suicide because some maps there are nothing to do with, just tress or rocks, on the edges there are like, structures to use it, thats why is always godd to use that structures

You say any killer, when it just got explained that it is not effective against Nurse. You cannot expect that the same stradegie works on every killer. If it would, we only had one.
