Just holding them by the back of the shirt in the air and giving them a swift kick in the butt down the hatch!

Guys, he never said to nerf killer BP gains. He suggested to increase Survivor BP gains with which I can agree to an extent.

The problem is killers gain more BP on average due to add-ons for killers being available ONLY in the bloodweb. As a killer you have to spend more BP on average to keep your add-on stock supplied.

Survivors can get free items from chests or other survivors during a match. They can also get add-ons using a single perk. They even have a perk that allows them to get high rarity stuff. For this reason you can essentially get anything you want for free.

While I agree that the grind in DBD is bad (getting a little better with challenges from rift giving BP) taking survivor BP gain up to the equivalent of killer would feel bad as a killer player. Again they gain more on average because they have to spend more on average.

We've taken feedback on add-ons as well, don't worry. There's only so much time to make changes between a PTB and the actual release, and that post is just for the changes that are locked in for the initial release. It's still possible that there will be some add-on changes in the hotfix, but I can't confirm that just yet. We could also make further base kit tweaks in the following hotifx(es) if necessary.

Not like I need to say it but "you're damned if you do, and you're damned if you don't".

I am often critical of decisions that have been made to DBD as a whole but I do my best (I promise I try ^.^) to be either constructive or patient with my responses. But I was glad to see a rather quick and reasonable response to the Hillbilly changes originally made for the PTB. While I will reserve any final opinions for hand on testing I am pleased to see they are not gutting how Hillbilly can use his chainsaw completely.

So to all the people that want to over exaggerate events before they have even had time to test them I say "chill out and see, nothing is going to change by you venting anger on the forums."

And to BHVR, "Thanks for taking the time to listen to the community and attempt a change that not only took community feedback but also (and most importantly) didn't completely negate your idea with the overheat mechanic." Don't let people completely stifle YOUR creativity simply because they spew vocal toxicity.

    Cheers!

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/9GFJVAWQDYZZ/hbasset.png

It has been a few days since the 4.1.0 PTB began (click here for more info), and we have been closely monitoring feedback in the days following. Based on the feedback we’ve received, we are preparing a number of changes in time for the live release.

    The Cannibal

We are happy to see a positive reception to The Cannibal’s update, so we are not planning any large scale changes. We are, however, making a small change to the tantrum meter so it only increases while the power button is being held. This will prevent you from entering a tantrum when you’re trying to put your chainsaw down.

    The Hillbilly

We had originally mentioned that we were mostly happy with the way The Hillbilly played only wanted to add a small drawback. However, after watching people play on the PTB, it became apparent that the overheat mechanic was too strict, preventing people from using their chainsaw in interesting ways. This was never the intent, and as such, we are making a series of changes to ensure that your chainsaw is not overheating too quickly or frequently.

Please remember that the numbers mentioned below may be tweaked before the full release, or after based on the feedback received.

First, the amount of heat generated while actively revving the chainsaw has been reduced from 10 to 8. Additionally, the chainsaw will only generate heat while the power button is being held (like The Cannibal’s tantrum meter), allowing you to “feather” the chainsaw much more efficiently than before. Feathering is when you tap the power button repeatedly to keep your chainsaw ready before starting it, allowing you to get into a better position before starting your sprint. With these two changes combined, feathering your chainsaw with generate roughly 60% less heat than before.

Finally, we’re increasing the heat dissipation rate when not overheated from -3.5 to -5. Your chainsaw will also begin cooling down the instant the chainsaw sprint ends, rather than after the animation of missing, hitting an obstacle, or hitting a Survivor ends. These changes will make managing the heat of your chainsaw much more manageable.

We are aiming to have all of these changes ready in time for the live release of the update. We’d like to thank everyone who took the time to try out these changes on the PTB and leave constructive feedback, and we hope that these changes address some of your concerns.

    The Dead by Daylight team

seem to be more inline with what the community was asking for, while also keeping their initial idea of the "overheat". While I can only speculate as to how much of an effect this will have it does seem that the cool down rate will be much faster and the fact that proper "feathering" (as the Devs call it) will be a thing again, I do not see the overheat mechanic becoming a problem anymore.

I do believe your post is an over exaggeration of events you do not agree with. If you truly feel people are going to "quit" DBD over these changes just look at many of the controversial things that have happened in the past and yet this community is still holding strong numbers. If you truly dislike the change that is happening just take a break from DBD like I (and many others) have done in the past. The community does not need more toxicity being spewed for the sake of venting anger.

You get cakes too. You could hoard more cakes if you just would burn cakes. Remember, it takes money to make money.

Instead, I saw this during the whole event:

    • Very often no event cake
    • Rarely a event cake
    • Too often for this event, a mori instead of an event cake

Fellow killers, why are you like that?

In my personal experience it seems to be pretty even. The past few days seems to be killers almost always using a cake and at least 1 survivor using a cake. I'm seeing tons of streamers too.

I wish Make Your Choice was more consistent on Hag. It feels like if I teleport back to early I've lost it but if I wait the trap might expire or they might already be hiding. If her default range was bigger I'd feel more comfortable being far away but I don't want to be out of range just to trigger the perk itself.

That is where the range add-ons come in handy.

  • Maybe deep down you realize you actually enjoy watching the pain and suffering of others. To miss out on the parting of flesh by hook, the gushing of blood from wound, the genuine screams of FEAR get you so riled up that your hand subconsciously releases the button on your flashlight just as you snap out of your euphoria....You stare blankly as the killer carries your friend away, questioning the events that took place. Yet in your mind you know who is to blame, you feel the buried desire rising....

It's not the most gender inclusive but as a female I definitely jokingly call my girl friends king on occasion and I've never been bothered when I've been assumed to be a guy through the internet, either. But I guess you could say kings and queens when you verse a squad as killer

Love how the gen speed videos have 200 replies and this has none. Nobody complains when a killer wrecks a team in a few minutes. Its just gonna be the “bad survivors” excuse.

Really shows the bias in the community. Both sides have the potential to quickly defeat the other side.

All killers can 4 man slug and win a game (except they won't really get emblem points) but the majority don't.

All survivors can rush gens and escape (and oddly still get decent emblem points) and the majority seem to do it.

Survivors objective is to escape, Killers objective is to kill so why do we not see more 4 man slugs?

    Personal experience.

The 2nd chance perks have drawbacks and are situational too.

Adrenaline, BT, DS (just using these 3 as I don't have a ton of time to type) do not have drawbacks. While they do have conditions that need to be met they DO NOT have drawbacks.

Myers insta down requires you to use up time stalking and it can be wasted if you don't manage to land a hit.

Leatherface has a tantrum effect should you hit an obstacle, resulting in a tremendous amount of lost time/distance in a chase. If you do not manage to land the hit (and don't hit an object) you get a minior loss to distance and have essentially missed an easy M1 you could have had.

Billy needs to be precise (sometimes BHVR servers are questionable for both sides) where missing gives the survivor a little distance and you just lost an easy M1 you could have had instead of that missed chainsaw. You also lose a decent amount of distance should you hit an object. People seem to easily forget that if you manage to dodge 2-3 chainsaws you have basically just survived 2 M1 attacks.

Anyway there are more examples but I need to get going. My whole comment is NOT to debate if XY or Z is "over-performing" or not but rather to showcase that these insta down attacks come with disadvantages whereas the second chance perks do not. (Again I didn't go through all insta downs/perks just gave a few examples)

least interactive killer during chase, forces immersed playstyles and hard counters are perk and map dependable. when a god billy/Nurse and good huntress steamrolls a team its because the player is good, not the killer, prove me wrong.

Well I don't have a problem going against a Spirit and actually find them MORE interactive than simply running in a straight line/loop. With Spirit I actually need to be more unpredictable and try to get into the killers head.

I did not actually count these numbers myself so this is simply what it feels like to me, but I think my survival rate vs Spirit (I don't include new players to Spirit, no perks, add-ons, low rank) is probably around 50%.

Now I don't really care if this changes your mind but to say she is "unskillful" just means you got outplayed.

  • While I have played most of these games already I tend to hop back on from time to time to:

    Horrizon Zero Dawn

    Witcher 3

    Nioh 1 and 2

    Dark Souls 3 (PvE shinnanigans)

    Sims 4

I lose interest easily with single player games (not that I don't enjoy them) and tend to hop every few days for a change of pace. I also already beat the games listed above so I tend to play them in smaller bursts than I use to.

Games I tend to play frequently are:

    FFXIV

    Apex

Minecraft (my little one enjoys the heck out of it ^.^)

    Doom Eternal

(Insert any new game I get)

Who on the design team thought a map when you can hold W around the map and never be caught, or when you are caught, you have no pallets to play with was a good idea?

Who on the design team thought of placing the two staircases on opposite ends of the map as the only means of accessing the second floor (aka the second half of the map)

they cant be the same people who designed the decent maps IE azarovs, mcmillian, etc

Indoor maps are actually my favorite maps as survivor.

I don't mind them as killer but I somehow NEVER get them until I decide I want to play Huntress or Nurse.....then I hate them!

The idea of being able to play with your friends in this game is good and people don't always abuse it and just use it to have actual fun with their friends.

But then there are those who do abuse it which spoils the fun of the killer completely, unless that killer is a god killer.

Honestly, I have no idea how to balance it but in the state it is now is not healthy for the game, as voice communication fill the role of a multitude of different survivor perks and renders then obsolete.

A perk that is completely obsolete in a VC team is for Example, Kindred.

Through Voice chat, the team can easily relay the information Kindred would provide and can some times be even better then it.

Lets say for example, the SWF team goes against a dreaded Insidious Basement Leatherface. Where with no voice chat, Insidious will cause Kindred to not show their aura, but with voice chat, they just say "Hey, He is in here. He is not moving. Don't come in.

Voice Chat can also strengthen perks well beyond their intended power. The most common being Object of Obsession. One player on a voice chat group with Object of Obsession will be able to inform the entire team of the killer's location at all times, a feat i think the Devs never intended for.

For me personally, Going against a SWF groups is like going against a squad of survivors that have the equivalent of like 7 perks equipped each and that is what i think is unfair.

Please share your take on SWF and please try to not be toxic. I know as of late i haven't been the most shining example of a non-toxic community member but i am trying to temper my entitlement and become better.

A quick way to describe SWF.

SWF is a great idea as it brings people into the game to have fun.

SWF offers many advantages with no drawbacks.

Not all SWF are "Swat teams" but all SWF are boosted beyond their solo capabilities.

Do I want SWF to go away, no I do not. Do I want it to be looked at in terms of balance, yes, but first FIX YOUR DAMN BUGS!

    See, its simple!

The streamer Circlejerk around billy is funny to watch, he's been overperforming compared to other killers for years now, there has never been a time where he wasn't one of the top, he completely invalidates half the roster and ppl are crying because his power has a downside now.

Meanwhile nobody was saying "oh, they gutted legion to hard and basically made him an even more boring m1 killer"

Streamers don't care about balance, they are about what's fun to THEM since they are spending an absolutely bonkers amount of time in this game, watching a billy destroy lowrank teams with ease because new survivors cannot deal with the mappressure and chainsaw was absolutely ridiculous.

    @goatslinger said:

ok imagine.. you get chased by the killer get the first hit -> item drops. from now on you have 90 seconds to pick it up back. a chase is in average lets say 30 seconds.

now the killer needs to pick you up, get to a hook and hook you. lets say 10 seconds.

now survivor need to get you from the other side of the map that will probably take again around 20-30 seconds.

now we have around 70 seconds in the worst case. the survivor has now 20 seconds to run to the item and pick it up, depending now where the chase began if is in the other side of the map well.. say goodbye to your item.

the only way to get your item somehow back is someone is hook bombing with borrowed time and you run immideately to the item IF the killers isnt following you. otherwise goodybe item.

    its just to much.

the only item i bring in games are medkits now devs pretty much say : f you, go and use selfcare for 40 seconds? that cant be real. i really dont understand what devs trying to do?

a lot of maps got changed, with these changes maps are full with deadzones. now they want people to lose their items. what next? obviously you want to make the game easier for killers, sure thing. but you just nerf everything to hell and killers are again wondering why so many people play in a group.

Devs.. do you try to kill Solo players? i mean.. slowly i really have that feeling you just wanna punish people for playing solo.. and enough is enough i guess? if you keep doing this i will stop playing both sides and just become a killer main.

I mean I don't use items...like ever, so my opinion on this matter may differ from someone who does, however....

Survivors no longer lose items (even when completely used up, though honestly saving 1% was easy) if they escape. Couple that with the fact that you can get items from chests during a match and can boosts those items by running perks all for FREE, I don't see an issue with Franky Spanky. You still get 90s to get your item or you have the minor inconvenience of having to dip into your pool of free item overstock.

the killer could let them get up and then hit them down again to wait for the ds to go out, or we could compromise and say that DS deactivates if you res yourself

Neither options solves the issue I brought up.

Let's say you get unhooked near me (killer). With the ability to self res (base kit) as you suggested (lets assume for the sake of this example they don't also have a perk for another self rez), my options are:

    A. Ignore the unhooked person allowing them to heal or do a generator unimpeded.

    B. Down the person, losing a little bit of distance on my intended target (unhooker) while I apply no pressure to the team as the person on the ground can self rez base kit without the need of a teammate.

    C. Down the injured person and accept I have to take a DS hit so they don't get a self rez.

    D. Down the injured person and stand around pointlessly for 60s to avoid DS or wait for a undetermined amount of time in hopes they try to rez themselves with me standing close enough to punish them.

There are no good options here. Couple this with the fact that this combo would become top tier meta, meaning this horrible situation has to play out up to 4 times in a single match. And as I said above this is assuming they don't also have unbreakable for a second self rez.

saying they get up for free is a bit ignorant on what it means to be left alone long enough to fully recover your bar on your own. if this happens its soley because the killer left them, the killer made a mistake.

Everyone (and I mean everyone) would run DS because it would be an escape if they picked you up and an escape if they left you slugged.

    Hello.

Like an hour ago I played a killer match againts a (presumable) 2 people SWF and 2 random guys. One of the guys in the SWF was named something like "I want to farm" and as soon as the match starts and I found him, he tries to start farming with me, teabagging and letting me hit him and this kind of stuff. Even when I was not farming with them they were still trying to do it the entire game. Until now it's like whatever, they threw the game but me and the other two guys still played a relatively normal match.

I get a 4k, the match ends and one of the guys who was farming flames me and says he is going to report me for not farming ???????????? then comments more bs on my steam profile.

I don't really care about the dude flaming me for wanting to play the game normally, or players who farms in general but my point is: why do some people get mad when the others want to play the game the way is intended to? Its boring, at least for killer, being in a 15 minutes match with no chases and just hitting dudes and letting them do gens. It is not even difficult at this moment getting +100k blood points in a normal match, usually I get at least 3 anniversary cake offerings. I talk about it from the killer side because I barely play survivor, but today I saw a Ussylis video where he complained about getting so many farming killers as well.

Anyway it is just my opinion, I don't like farming because it's boring and sometimes the killer queue goes +10 minutes, when the match starts I prefer playing the game and having entertaining chases than watching 4 dudes holding M1 and escaping thourgh a door, even if it gets me more blood points.

tl;dr: its ok you want to farm but dont get mad if the others dont want to, understand it can be boring.

Remember when you wouldn't farm with me?

When every killer have Barbecue & Chilli? I just lost to Oni 17lvl with this perk, another one. I didn't know he have it! How could i? And when i know, its already to late. :/

    HOW this is fair?

IMO that's why gameplay is a mess, basically devs cannot balance killer and survivors with shared perks, because those will pile on and they just can't balance every perk with each other.

When i play against Leatherface i know, and Leatherface playing against 4x Laurie Strody will know she can free itself. But now its free for all and unbalanced mess.

And after reading comments about perks from killers and survivors side, it is frustrating for everyone. :/

Ways to counter BBQ & Chili

    • Hide behind a generator aura (don't work on the generator)
    • Hide in any locker
    • Be within a 42m radius to the killer (pretty big range)
    • Be further than 42m from the killer and simply move away from the spot
    • Use the perk Distortion
    • Use the perk Sole survivor (or don't its horrible)
    • If there are 3 survivors still alive then you naturally have a 2/3 chance of NOT being the target anyway
    • Use the short time the killer CAN see your aura to sneak away so as to waste their time looking for you (don't run, Urban Evasion is great for this)

There are tons of way to avoid this perk. When I play survivor (solo 99% of the time) I tend to have a "stealth" play style where I'm often the last to ever be chased. Avoiding detection perks is all part of the game and learning how they work (playing killer AND survivor) does wonders for learning how to counter them.

I have a literal gold mine of Moris/Keys because I don't like using them outside of Daily rituals. While I personally have no plan to use them, even with upcoming changes, I see the appeal in using them now before the potentially get nerfed into oblivion.

I'm not disagreeing with you that Moris (and keys) are not currently game destroying, just playing Devils advocate with the reasoning behind wanting to use them all up.

I think that changing his Add Ons would have been enough. Mostly Tuning Guide, Engravings and Cooldown Add Ons.

However, the game evolved a lot and Killer is the easiest it has ever been. It is just logical that stuff, which was ok a few years ago will be touched now. Because DBD 2017 is not the same like DBD 2020 when it comes to Killer experience.

I'm very confused by the new Iri add-on. Most pallets have immediate sharp turns meaning as soon as Billy is done performing the "break" action on a pallet with his chainsaw its not really going to be beneficial to be moving forward since the survivor most likely ran to the left or right.

I can see a few pallets on a couple maps (Lerys hallway for example) where this could be good, but that is so situational.

Face it, we already know from the past that once those Hillbilly changes hit PTB it's a done deal. They've never listened to any valid criticism from anyone in the community before and it'll probably stay like that until this game inevitably dies out later down the road. So instead of wasting your time typing out useless posts that won't move them at all do what you can do by hitting them where it hurts. Go on a camping spree.

Derank to green ranks and start facecamping harder than you've ever facecamped before. Ruin the game for every new player or casual friend group that you come across.

The vast majority of killers could quit and they won't care. Hell, even some of their largest content creators consistently complain about their terrible management of the game and they don't even listen to them.

Players like Scottjund and Zubatlel constantly complain about the state of the game on stream. Scott even quit for 2 weeks because of how frustratingly terrible the new map is with an Object of Obsession on it. Zubat posted a video showing just how fun that situation is by playing nascar against a Pyramid head. And just a few days ago AngryPug made a direct tweet to the devs twitter account about the state of the game which sparked a large thread of other content creators backing him up. The next day he then spent several hours of the start of his stream discussing the replies and talking about just how much of a garbage fire the current DBD is. Even players like Tru3talent and Otzdarva will let their thoughts slip when they get frustrated enough, which seems to be happened more often as of late. I wonder why?

    Such a childish mentality.

"I don't like this change so everyone else must feel as bad as I do!"

Look I'm not a fan of this Billy tweak either (same with the Ruin change) but rather than ruining other peoples enjoyment I acted like an adult and walked away from the game and found something else I enjoyed doing.

Just take a break pal. Being a jerk to everyone else is only going to further push this damn toxic community to new heights, although I'm probably already wasting my breath here.

Oh, how about a 50% chance that the handle of the Hatchet hits the survivor instead of the head of the Hatchet and deals no damage and gives survivors a speed boost? Of course on top of the necessary charge bar.

Can we get a skin that changes her hatchets to "boots" instead, so I can yell "Boot to the head" every time a hatchet doesn't injure them?

Dude I totally agree with you. I get that they are only human, and everyone has bad days. The real issue though is that I was pointing out something that is a real problem. The Devs only comment or reply to posts they have made, news and updates.

I asked someone if they could find a Dev comment in the feedback section at all. The nearest one they could find was from a month prior.

I then suggested that they take one topic a week from the feedback and suggestions section of the forum. Maybe the one that has had the most views or replies.

Now I did get a lot of what you are seeing above, people coming on here just to tell me that I must be stupid or a big baby. I am merely trying to figure out a was in which the devs could be slightly more active in the forum community.

I can't speak for everyone but a lot of people I have spoken to did feel the same. Like the Devs only comment on their own posts whilst completely ignoring ligitimate concerns about the state of the game.

The three big ones being SWF balancing, connection issues and the ranking system.

I'm not saying that I want a solution to any of these but an open discussion would be nice.

What we have at the moment though doesn't even come close to good community engagement. As I said before they have the time to make snide comments in response to me calling them out but they don't have time to respond to some genuine questions.

All I asked was that they maybe think about having some kind of 'Once a week' get together to discuss with the community some of the issues that are on their minds. Once a month just to a topic that no one cares about is just not good enough. I don't think I am out of line believing this.

I agree completely that BHVR needs to figure out a more transparent way to communicate with the community.

Back in the time tunnel when DBD was really gaining traction I felt BHVR was doing a great job at talking with the community, keeping us updated on plans in the works and bringing up some of the bigger community asked questions. Even if they couldn't always provide an answer you wanted to hear they were at least talking with us.

I can understand with the community having grow much larger at this point we would inevitably see a decrease in the more "personal" feeling discussions, but I am disappointed to see many major issues discussed far less.

If BHVR just came out and said "Hey we see many people concerned about (insert topic) we are looking at it, in fact here are a couple of spitball ideas we were tossing around. we would also like to hear ideas from the community" - Not only would this show that they are actually looking into the topic in question but also make the community feel like they are contributing in some way. Sadly as things currently stand most responses feel more "Corporate / Generic" rather than from an actual human who enjoys playing/making the game.

I posted a topic a few days back asking if anyone had ever seen any response from the devs to feedback and suggestions.

Within an hour of posting the topic two devs showed up to post sarcastic replies.

I pointed out that I had posted that topic to bait some Devs into responding. They took the bait and responded.

This contradicts the excuse that they are too busy with other things to respond to feedback or suggestions.

Yes, they are very busy but not too busy to post sarcastic, snarky comments back to their player base.

Now the Topic has been deleted. I think maybe I touched a nerve regarding the engagement levels of the Devs in the community.

Poor show lads. Don't agree... Censor it!

First if you admitted to using the post as "bait" then that explains why it got taken down.

Secondly simply because a Dev(s) commented on your post does not mean "they are not busy". They could have just happened to have seen it while they were on. While I did not see the original post IF what you said is true, that their responses were "sarcastic" in nature and not constructive, then I would say it was highly unprofessional for them to have done so. Provided the original topic of the post was a legitimate question and not sarcastic itself. This is of course all speculation as I've no post/comments to read myself.

The community in this game is toxic AF and I'm sure many Devs (who are all human too) have bad days and must get tired of seeing all the negativity day in/day out. So I won't fault them too hard for the occasional slip up on the forums. While I do believe there are many legitimate complaints to be had in regards to DBD and how things are handled, far too many people make things into personal attacks or nonconstructive "bait" posts that serve no purpose to the forums but to push this toxicity further.

Ideally EVERYONE would take a step back and try to find a middle ground (this includes Devs) in resolving DBD together, without the needless bias/attacks/name calling, etc, etc.

I'm gonna call her other iridescent addon rn

    Iridescent mp3 player

A mysterious electronic device that couldnt have existed in the Huntress' time. The melodies within open the listener's mind to possibilities

    - hatchets can no longer down survivors, will instead apply deep wound

    - slightly increases movement speed

    - slightly increases charge time

    - successful hatchet hits apply the oblivious effect for 30 seconds

    - changes the huntress' lullaby to All-Star by Smash Mouth

"I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed" - Unknown, possibly Benedict Baker

I'd use this regardless of the drawbacks for the music alone.

It would be awesome to see a Resident Evil chapter in the game. The killer could be Mr.x , Tyrant, or Nemesis. The survivor could be either Chris, Jill, Claire, or Leon. Leon being my favorite i hope it's him lol. Anyway I've seen this idea brought up a few times, seeing as silent hill made it there's no way this is a farfetched idea. I always considered RE and SH to be similar games because of their play style. This would be amazing and doesn't have to be the NEXT chapter but I would definitely buy this.

"X gonna' give it to ya" chase music or I quit!

Not sure what you mean. There was an issue related to BP, but cages are not supposed to count as hooks, that's their whole deal. They're a different way to progress the sacrificial stages.

I know in PTB they were to act like "hooks" for emblem points but they were not. I do not know if this would cause an issue with perks (coding) but its a guess.

I don't know the first thing about coding so I honestly cannot say.

This won't happen but please I want it. Base it off of Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated (either the old one from 2010 with the Evil Entity, see it works, one and the same lol) or the newer darker fan-project that Warner Brother's have licenced their name to. Please I beg.

Alright Scoobs, forget the generators I'm getting us out of this one!

I think it's clearly an oversight. Even if intended, it should be paused while in a cage.

Considering cage wasn't counting as a hook (may have been fixed I haven't played in a bit) it could be a reason as to why.

  • @Orion said:

Surely there are killer players who're hard of hearing or deaf. I'm curious about how you play, given that sound is such an important part of DbD.

My hearing is perfectly fine but I tend to listen to Podcasts while playing DBD so I don't often find sound an issue.

That is not to say I don't think sound is a major part of the game, but I'd imagine if you have a hard time hearing you (like me) pay more attention with your eyes.

  • @kate_best_girl said:

So what joy do you geniuenly get out of ruining someone elses play time? I say this coming from at least 10 games in a row of toxic killers and survivors non stop tunneling, flashlight clicking, tea bagging, first hook moris. Like seriously what about taking someone trying to have fun and ruining any fun that they will have is good to you? I genuinely don't understand it.

    Sense of control.

    sense of superiority.

    Joy in bringing others down.

    Think its cool (poor upbringing/friends).

Possible mental/emotional problems they take out on others.

    Violent tendencies manifested in game.

    Etc, etc, etc.

I don't think anyone can pin point the exact reasons people behave in such a way but it all follows a lack of empathy for others. While I find no joy in hurting others, it does not surprise me to see how quickly this behavior spreads given our world current situations and the personal experiences I have personally witnessed.

Lots of people complain about how the game "forces" them to play SWF (and I do SWF, too, on occasion), but I enjoy playing solo more.

The stakes are higher (you can die in 1 hook if no one wants to rescue you), randomly bumping into the killer/other survivors has more weight/entertainment value, never knowing if someone else is finishing that generator while you're being chased can be pretty tense, end game can be pretty spooky if you've only personally cleansed a couple of totems and the killer is careening towards you, you have no idea how good your teammates are/how long they can stall, you can have pretty exciting moments where a random saves you with a pallet or Head-On when you though you were donezo, etc.

It's fun to pump out easy games/wins, but for me at least, the value/fun of playing survivor stems from trying to overcome a bunch of unknown variables (killer choice/perks/teammates) while performing as well as I can.

I much prefer playing solo, yet I still hate how we (solo) are getting more and more information spoon feed to us.

It feels like there is little to no tension while playing. If my team sucks then I just play for the fair (sarcasm) hatch.

Does Doom count as horror? I want DoomGuy in either Smash or DBD!!!!!!!

If I load up a match as survivor and hear the BFG music start I'm just going to hide under my bed and apologies to Doom Guy profusely.

  • @undeadcookie said:

I don't mean this in like a sarcastic, malicious, or salty way, I'm genuinely curious. How does a bug this massive get past the devs before launch? How do they not notice that survivors make almost zero noise in a game that is heavily dependent on listening out for other players?

BHVR - Testing? I'm pretty sure we all graduated why would we take a test, pfffft.

  • There are plenty of killers that could be added to DBD.

Some I'd be happy to see others I wouldn't care.

DBD is basically the "Smash Bros" of horror games so add whoever you want I say, however FIX YOUR BUGS FIRST.

    Thank you.

Not even close. You don't need cosmetics to play the game.

    Simply not true.

One does not truly play DBD until they are wearing the Bunny Feng outfit. Everything up to that point was simply a fabricated lie.

Can we still all agree they aren't Bethesda atleast?
